I swear I'll stop stop spamming your dash with my nostalgic Tokio Hotel posts now! Although in my defense, I realized that the TH fandom was the only fandom I've ever been a part of, so I think it makes sense that it's taking me longer to get out of that nostalgic phase than expected.. God, I remember we even got the Prague zoo to name newborn bears Bill and Tom after our favorite twin brothers.. 😅😂 Of course, the joke was on us because the bears then had to be separated, which we didn't know.. 🙈😂

I just wanted to check something in the documentary part of the DVD and I ended up rewatching the whole thing (I didn't remember it had 45 mins, okay? I only watched it like 3 times back in 2007, lol).

Anyway, I remembered that I actually learned something in English (likely starting with "g") from the subtitles: turns out the phrase was "I just don't get it." but I didn't remember the context at all and it absolutely took me out.

"I feel like they can just do it themselves" 😂🤣😂

I completely forgot how funny both of the twins were! And let's be honest, that would have totally been me in his position as well, lol. Even now, let alone at 17.. 😁 But it's kinda ironic that I learned "I just don't get it" thanks to this bit, because, even though I don't understand every single word Bill was saying there, I'm more than certain he didn't say that at all, lol.

And OMG, that Gummi bears theme song!!! I remember the entire Czech fandom was flabbergasted by wtf he was singing that it had to be beeped out.. Until our German friends let us know!! 😂😂😂 God, I remember my friend had me singing that theme song for at least 3 weeks after that, lol.

Alright. Time to get emotional. 

If you don’t want to read an entire life story below, here’s just the TLDR: this was my first ever mainseries Pokemon game and it essentially changed my life.

On this day five years ago, the game that would change my life forever was released worldwide. This was my first ever mainseries Pokemon game and is what introduced me into the wonderful world of Pokemon. I've spoken about my experience with Pokemon prior to Sun and Moon, but I'll quickly summarize it here: I had a brief Pokemon phase when Black and White originally released, I didn't play any of the games, but I did watch a couple old anime episodes and basically collected as many Happy Meal toys as I could. In 2016 is when my story really starts, with the release of Pokemon Go, a game that took the world by storm in a way very few others have (hell, possibly a way none others have). Being ten years old and at the mercy of Internet influence, I naturally ended up downloading it and became hooked.

I first learned of Sun and Moon through a demo playthrough I found on YouTube. To say I was intrigued would be an understatement. It was to the point I created a fanfiction before the game even released (which, I was 10, you can expect what the quality of the writing was). I instantly caught up with all of the trailers and all of the information on the game. Each time a new trailer came out, I made sure to watch it - the Battle! Trainer track is still a piece of music that invokes such a feeling of nostalgia for me, and back when I was ten years old watching the trailers with that track playing in the background, I legitimately felt that when this game came out, I would be going on an adventure. 

I didn't get it on its release date, despite me constantly begging my parents to buy me a 3DS so I could play it. Finally, in mid-December, my dad bought me the game (at Meijers, of all places), we drove over to GameStop, bought a 3DS, and for the rest of the day I just could not put the game down. We went out to eat that night at Firehouse Subs before going to the zoo with my aunt and cousins to see the Christmas decorations there, and all the while I was just completely immersed in this game, refusing to turn it off. And I can fundamentally say that day changed my life.

Considering my only real experience with console games was Skylanders, Pokemon was an all-new experience for me. I was instantly enthralled with the world, the gameplay, the characters, the Pokemon - it was my first and really only 'pure' Pokemon experience I had. I was going in blind, with only a couple gameplay articles there to guide my way. All other Pokemon games I played afterwards I researched endlessly and basically knew what to do and where the story would go. But Sun and Moon was my true Pokemon experience, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The game took me, from what I can remember, either three or four weeks to beat. I got stuck at so many points, but my registration into the Hall of Fame was one of the most satisfying video game moments I've ever experienced (side note: I can still remember when I beat Mother Beast Lusamine and my 3DS was at extremely low battery, and we were driving so I didn't have my charger around, so I was spamming through the dialogue as quickly as possible to get to a save point. I'm still super salty about that lol).

And then Lillie left (I still remember thinking that a PokeDoll was a super-rare one-time item oops), and the credits rolled. And that was my first video game heartbreak.

I adored that game. To this day, my biggest regret is that I sold my copy. It was my game collecting phase where I was basically selling any game I didn't play anymore so I could buy more games. I really, really want to yell at 12-year-old me for that decision. 

But, life went on. I experienced my first Pokemon game, and it brought me into a world which I still haven't left, and I hope I never do. This franchise means the world to me, and I wouldn't trade my experience for anything. This game eventually got me (re)introduced to Pokemon Black and White, which became my favorite piece of media ever, and Sun and Moon itself is still a close second for me. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon tried fixing what wasn't broken, and it was a disaster - no matter what, Sun and Moon will be the canon Generation 7 game for me. It helped me discover a vast universe that inspired me for the next five years of my life, even helping me discover things about my own identity, and it's likely going to continue to do that.

Thank you, Pokemon Sun and Moon, for five amazing years. Let the journey never end.

Well.. I ended my adventure on uni because of my depression and anxiety like… two years ago? I got my bachelor degree and started master degree, but my mental health knocked me down. So I am full-time adult right now. Sometimes I am thinking about coming back to uni, but I literally have no time for anything. Last months are really intensive in my work. So my plans for these months are simple – I am going to overwork myself lol. However my friends were talking about weekend in Rome or Venice since we fell in love with Italy, so who knows! 😊 Beside this, I don’t think you are talking about yourself a lot. So don’t worry about it! I am really curious by nature and I love to hear what people have to say. And if you want to tell me all those things, it is some kind of compliment towards me, right? 😊

Don’t feel any pressure with writing! Take your time, good things need time! And your writing is worth waiting! You always make me screaming internally whenever you post anything. It all is SO FREAKING GOOD. I’ll spam you with other requests when you’ll be back for good.

So prepare yourself.

Yes, you should envy me. The night sky was amazing. All those stars, that thunderstorm.. I have goosebumps while thinking about it. Last time I saw such beautiful sky I was in my place on Earth and it was something worth remembering too!

I've seen the very first part of LOTR and I actually plan to watch the rest. But it was weird to watch it because I spotted all those memes with Gandalf and Frodo. It was fun tho. So so long but fun!

And yes. I was studying at 2 universities and studying Japanese in other school on weekends and yes. Im full time crazy but since i graduated im left with 1 uni so it will be easy peasy lemon squeazy, especially that its a bachelor year and I will write thesis on Assassins Creed 😂

As for a trip. Honestly I reccomend Venice its so so so beautful! Like gods. The canals, bridges, amazing ice cream and od course VENICE MASKS! They are so beautiful. I highly reccomend Venice, truly. I think you would really like it!

As for writing. I need ti pressure myself a bit because... Hello anxiety my old friend. I need to beat it and be more productive, but its fine. When I see a request im always so happy because I have a literal reason to write and it just feels good.

I know I can be quite sporadic and unpredictable with how often I write in my Journal. I’ve never had a problem with it though, since I treat my journal and these entries as a place to talk to myself and to unpack my feelings or thoughts. Tonight though I’m grateful to know as I try to think off the top of my head, that there is really no major painstaking issue bringing me down. While my parents have always been an issue I’ve already learned how to filter it out and not let it negatively impact myself.

Although I feel quite content with my current self and have accepted what’s happened this year, not getting into the Molecular Genetics Masters Program and finding out U24 Dragon Boat was canceled has tremendously changed the trajectory and expectations of my plans this upcoming year and next. Summer is finally over, and while in the past summers I’d usually be usually completely busy studying, academics, research, and work, I spent the majority of it OCing, working out, and on dates with HK. Usually around this time of year I’d be very excited and looking forward to returning to school. This is the first September in who knows how many years (since kindergarten) that there is no actual school to look forward to. And yet, I don’t’ have the same excitement filling me either. Suddenly graduating certainly has made me feel a lot more alone in my journey. Not that I am alone, but rather that my path is no longer cookie cutter. While the dream for most is to get into medicine immediately after undergrad, doing a master’s and then applying to medicine is hardly considered the unbeaten path either.

I came home earlier this weekend from home sitting my sister’s new apartment room with her cat A. It was the labour day weekend. For the past week I was really looking forward to the Beer Olympics. I had it written in my Agenda notebook already for the past couple of weeks as well. While I never really understood or was able to imagine what HK’s friend group looked like from “a ragtag group of misfits” I sort of get it now. They’re all lovely people. It was not a clique type of group and they’re all very nice. E stood out in particular as someone I should be a bit weary of, while on the other hand I strongly enjoyed L and T’s atmosphere. I appreciated I’s Toronto-man slang. S reminded me of Billie Eilish, and A reminded me of a friend from elementary school back in woodbridge. C was very talkative but I quite enjoyed listening to her story about her older sister having to marry the land to fulfill a prophecy or make sure it reflects reality. I was very glad I could also see HK’s vibe around her friends. It was interesting to finally understand or better picture some of the stories she’s mentioned previously about her friends. My ankles grew very tired by the end of the night and I also got really sleepy as I sobered up from the alcohol. I crashed in a chair with HK on my lap and she called Christine to drive us home. The month of August I must say passed by very quickly. August flew by much faster than July, which flew by faster than June. The weekly beach days with HK already seem a little distant. Maybe we can look out for hot weather on the weekly weather forecast for another beach day. Our scarborough bluffs day was so fun. Wait, that was the same day as terra lumina and Chako lol. And the spam musibi. Of course that was a fun day. July 30. I remember the drive to the Toronto Zoo at night was quite spooky as well. Oh, right and The And.

Considering most of my previous Journal entries throughout undergrad have mostly been about V or family troubles it’s really refreshing that I finally get to write something that Future TD Bank Canada can look at and read and reminisce on the happy memories. Honestly, it’s like God said this man has suffered enough let’s rig the Tinder algorithms for a change. HK really is that girl that I can just talk to. Someone I can hold, someone I can do and share things I’ve always wanted to but never could. She’s quite fit and athletic, really pretty, and so understanding and seemingly patient with me. I’ve been really happy lately ever since I started dating HK. And I hope it stays that way. I look forward to meeting her other friends too, and I’m so excited to eventually introduce her to my closest friends as well. Those days will come.

2018 / 2019 Recap

WOWOWOW!!! I honestly did not realize how long it’s been since I’ve posted on here! But I guess better late than never right? Here we go..

Jan 2018 - we went to the Boil (only remember this because I’m looking back at pics lol!)

Feb 2018 - we celebrated Valentine’s Day with Jherick and ate at the Thai place in Chinatown. We also tried Phil & Anne’s. Food was ok but overpriced!

Mar 2018 - filed form to get my passport. Wahoo! Went to El Vez for mensiversary.

Apr 2018 - we started playing a lot of basketball. This one Saturday, Spencer met up with us after his class and we played. Then went to Roli where Jherick had a tick on him lol yikes

May 2018 - our 6th year anniversary! We went to Unos. Food was ok, I remember one dish I think the pizza took FOREVER so they ended up giving us free dessert. We also went to Florida with Spencer/ Ruby. I think this was our first trip that involved a flight with them. We went to I think both Island of Adventure & Universal right? And we also went to SeaWorld. Poor Spencer threw up here after eating uncooked eggs made my his lady LOL. I miss the metro café place near the entrance of Universal, by Hulk. The Chicken Alfredo there is yummy! The Airbnb we had here was nice, it was super nice that we had 2 bathrooms lol. And a pool that we got to use on our last night. Luckily we had it all to ourselves. We also got to make your famous spaghetti. **I want Spaghetti in Jherick's voice** The morning of our flight back to NYC, we made Spam musubi right? And we had so much extra so we packed it in an empty Pringles can haha but we ended up throwing it away.

Jun 2018 - your birthday!! You turned 25! Quarter of a century, young baby. I took you to Peter Luger to celebrate! We also got to see Paramore w/ Jherick, courtesy of Live Nation free tickets.

Jul 2018 - played lots of basketball on the weekends. Went to Noreetuh for our mensiversary.

Aug 2018 - had Fogo w/ John & O'neal! We also ate at the Boil for our mensiversary.  We also went Tree Top Adventure! That was really fun, but too bad you had to tap out early lol! You wanted to be a big boy and try to climb up the rope but nope. We also went mini golfing & paddle boating or something like that.

Sep 2018 - my birthday! I turned the big 26. Wahhh. Went to El Vez w/ Ruby & Spencer. Got the green tea crepe cake, yummy!

Oct 2018 - saw Bruno Mars in concert! One of the best that I've thoroughly enjoyed.

Nov 2018 - Ruby's birthday! We went to Pennsylvania for Hershey Park. It was a fun trip. I remember the night before we were all on Discord & we told Ruby to pack her bags. But never said for how many days.. oops! But most importantly, this month we went to Japan!! Our first INTERNATIONAL, might I add.. LONG AS HELL! trip. I remember it was like a midnight flight, we ate around 2AM and best of all, they gave us Hagan Daaz ice cream! I didn't sleep too much on the plane but I did fall asleep here & there. It took maybe 14 hours until we landed in Beijing for a layover. I remember getting 2 sandwiches & water to hold us through. Then we finally landed in Tokyo!! We met up w/ Rui? I forgot the Airbnb guys name. I just remember taking a pic & sending it to him so he knew what we looked like since he was picking us up from the train station. I remember when we landed & went thru Customs, I took a whole bunch of free paper and magazines by the exit lol. And then seeing the lines of people patiently waiting for the train. Anyway, Rui spedwalk like crazy to the Airbnb. Luckily it was near the train station, it was so nice. Little studio and had the best bathroom EVER. Your favorite, the bidet. I remember nearly breaking the washing machine lol. It took hours to wash & dry man. I remember the first night, we showered & then headed out to explore. Walked around a little bit and I think we had that cold ramen the first night? I remember being sooooo exhausted, you have a video of me walking in the Airbnb like a lifeless zombie lol. The first day we visited the doggie statue. I'm not going to go day by day because it's all a blur. We went to Harajuku and got the big cotton candy cone. We had that cute ice cream. The crepe from the alleyway. We went into Daiso where I got my chapstick that I love so much. We visited a lot of anime/ figure stores. We visited the arcade. A lot of the gatchiflan toy thingies. We had more ramen (by our Airbnb). We had sushi on the last night I think. We tried that rotating sushi bar place but it was like a 1.5-2 hour wait so we said oh hell nah and ended up eating near our Airbnb. We had a lot of breakfast buns and onigiris from 7-11. And Family Mart. And Don Quiote where we got a lot of snacks & my favorite peach tea drink. We also tried Lotteria which was no Bueno. Taco Bell & Wendys were cool though. Did we try McDonalds? We spent our Thanskgiving at Ginza! a5 Wagyu, yummy yummy in my tummy. Everything was so good there. I remember we also went to the worlds biggest Uniqlo! You got your coat there & I got my pink fuzzy sweater & I think we got house slippers too our first night. That area we were walking around reminded me of 5th ave in the city, lots of shopping stores. We also had that fried beef thingy down in that basement restaurant. That was really good too. We also went to the shrines where we had to wash our hands & I remember we got to the burning ashes area and you told me to inhale it but really we were just suppose to swoop the smoke into our hair for good luck lol. This was also where there were a whole bunch of markets and we found our Kenji key chains. And where you spent $10 for gold foil ice cream. Our wifi at the Airbnb also went out like that second or third night. So the hosts told us to use the portable wifi. I think we probably used up so much they had to close their Airbnb :( lol Aside from me being cranky & tired, this was all in all a really good trip! I know it was your favorite.. even over the Paris one *eyeroll*

Dec 2018 - this is where you helped me setup my cpu area. We went to Ikea and bought my table & chair. Wahoo!

Jan 2019 - don't really remember much from this month.

Feb 2019 - we went Axe throwing!

Mar 2019 - I finally got 2 of my wisdom tooth removed. I think this was the month we went snowtubing w/ Helen & Carlo? This was also the month Jensen was born! Love that little mans.

Apr 2019 - I surprised you at Yayas w/ your airpods.

May 2019 - our SEVEN year anniversary! Celebrated at no other place than Fogo. We also saw Spencer graduate from Med school and again went to Fogo to celebrate lol. We went hiking this month too. That was fun. We also went to Governors Island where you chauffeured me around on a bike hehe. And then we ate at that diner place on Montague St. I really liked the food there. And then we ate at Blossom, our first time. It was soooo good.

Jun 2019 - our second international trip! To Spain. We went to Madrid which was fine, then Seville which was the best because of that tapas place & then Barcelona which was the worst because you got mugged :( It's otay Jeffrey it's otay. I know you're still traumatized.  The most memorable thing I will take from this trip is how Spencer projectile vomited for like an hour.. it was on your birthday! We ate at that steak place & when we got home he was in the bathroom and we just heard him puking his guts out. Then when we finally think it subsided, I decided to brush my teeth while Ruby showered and then I turn around and get started by Spencer and he goes, "Can I throw up now?" And then I manned up and wrapped my hand and arm in like 4 trash bags to unclog the sink. YUCK! And then the last day there, we ate at that yummy brunch spot we ate at 2 times. And Spencer blew up the bathroom. He had the SHIETTTTTS.

Aug 2019 - we went to California! San Francisco & LA. Had fun on this trip, weather was nice. Food was good. Got to visit Vy and the doggies. Went hiking with the bears and snakes haha. Spencer & Ruby took me to the zoo while you visited your friend.

Day 21 | Tsukiji & Ueno

Ueno is the prettiest place in Tokyo. YOU HAVE TO GO IF YOU EVER VISIT.

Went to fulfill my Tsukiji cravings. You know how you just suddenly crave something because you didn't have it the other time? Well that was me. Mentioned to my housemate over dinner that I was going to Tsukiji and he expressed his interest. Was meeting up with my other classmates from class so I asked him to join us.

We were OBVIOUSLY too late for the auction which was 4-6 in the morning. Trains don't even run that early. So we reached around 11:40. I set that time bc I'm pretty sure no one would bothered waking up on a Saturday. After spending a good half an hour finding them, we went for lunch.

Introduced T to Unagi. He fell in love (not with me). This beautiful bowl was 2000 yen but I insisted on sharing it with him so I could be cheap and just pay half. Well, it worked. It's always hard asking for money goddamnit. After that, we walked around and had the famous 100 yen egg roll.

It's...different. Wasn't used to it being sweet but I bought an entire packet despite that! I'm not even done with it yet and it expires on the 24th.

It’s more interesting than what my pictures are showing! It was also really packed, which I felt that I didnt capture really well. Briefly after that, my friends left for Ikebukuro,leaving me with just T. Wanted to go Ueno but he didn't want to join me so we parted ways.

Ueno park

Best decision ever.

Missed out on Ueno during the school trip because I registered late lol. Honestly, I didn't expect myself coming all the way here (okay it's just next to Akihabara) because frankly I had zero expectations and I thought it was just like Yoyogi park, which had nothing. I was delightfully wrong!

Ueno park is a park WITH science and art museums, an art gallery/exhibition space, shrines, a zoo, and random fountains. Near the main Ueno station, there are two big streets as well for you to shop. You can easily spend a day in Ueno.

Well, you basically wash your hands in the cold weather, pray, and empty your coins into the temple box thing but yeAH, as someone who aims to get as many beautiful pictures as I can, shrines are photography havens for me. The AESTHETIC. The ARCHITECTURE. HISTORY. FLAVOUR. PICTURE.

Random animals. Even the animals in Japan are cuter.

Half asleep at the museum, I took out my phone in a feeble attempt to connect to the non existent wifi. Filled with inappropriate cock jokes on my snapchat, I connected to my dying 4G and posted them. And then I saw Michelle's snapchat story, she was at Ueno!

Not really sure whether I was filled with euphoria of meeting someone I know after being alone for three hours or what, I spammed her with caps locked messages. We ended up meeting up (after going to the wrong train station entrance a couple of times) and we went tor dessert.

The dessert was heaven omfg guys. Tsukiji (a famous Jap restaurant worldwide) has nothing on it. Jk I've never tried anything from Tsukiji. But I trusted Michelle, she trusted the queue. Best matcha ice cream I've ever had in my life.

We ended up walking around Ueno and I had kebabs for dinner (I really miss my heart stopping HSPs ok). At one point, we went into a generic game store and she suggested to do purikura.

ALL I CAN SAY IS I'm glad I did it. Even though it was an intense few minutes posing for the camera when your face is not camera ready. Let's face it, I'm NEVER camera ready. It was a really fun half an hour we spent decorating our photos!  

That concludes my day! Bottom line, Ueno is a great place to go for a first time tourist and you shouldn't miss out if you have a free day.

The 'ugly bunch' - Does an animals appearance affect it's popularity? *DISCLAIMER * I'm having to remain very open minded and understanding of varying opinions in regards to this post as I genuinely can't think of an animal as being ugly! For starters many if my favourite animals are considered awful lookjng or are unheard of by most. For instance I love Xeno, but my brother thinks she's awful 🤣 And one of my favourite fish is the sarcastic fringehead.... yes it's a real thing btw! 😂 A lighthearted survey undertaken by ZSL of about 1,000, 78% of them had heard of the gruffalo but only 3% had heard of a creature known as the solenodon. Ultimately the survey showed that we had a rather capricious attitude towards certain species. This view has affected numerous things around the world - Vulture conservation for example, a species that is incredibly important for a healthy ecosystem and without them WE would suffer drastically, is often cast aside in favour of something we consider more appealing looking like a panda or tiger (all if which need preserving btw). Another recent study taken by US scientists at the John Hopkins university suggested that people may not be as put iff by ugly animals as you may think. The blobfish was voted as the worlds ugliest animal in a humerous campaign by the ugly animal preservation society, and it later spawned t shirts, artwork and a stand up comedy show. The research shows that people are more willing to help the ugly animals if they were simy marketed in a different way. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all and the US scientists research showed that by altering how we receive something does affect our views on it. So! I decided to do a little survey if my own for this post.... First of all I asked people the basic question: "Does an animals overall appearence affect it's popularity?" (and why they think this). The majority of people answered with yes it does, but the rwasons why were a tad more diverse than I expected. Quite a few said that the cuter fluffy animals would attract more popularity because they look more approachable, friendlier and predictable. One persons response was rather good as I think it explains why we are more erratic with certain species in particular - media. Using their example of a spider; "we generally can't understand, communicate/talk to them. They have multiple eyes and legs so on that note we can't relate further, making us uneasy with it's movements and by it's differences in general (we as humans naturally fear/dislike/feel uneasy by things that are different to us)... so we took note of this and used it in media production, films etc. Our media has further hyped the fear due to no fault of the spiders!" Now tge points they presented I personally agree with! My nan is terrified of snakes and snake like creatures such as moray eels etc and she blames that on a film she saw when she was younger about a cobra. Before this she had never had any negative experiences but the depiction in the film made her scared of them to a point where she struggled to look at photos even. But on a trip to the zoo last year she came face to face (on her own accord) with a gaboon viper. The first time she had been within that close a proximity to a big, venomous snake. After a while of looking at it whilst I spammed this thing with my camera she began to marvel at it's patterns and eventually she said she "wasn't sure why she's been so afraid, it isn't fast and erratic and it's not homing in on me. Instead it's very calm and beautiful to look at. It's nothing like the one in the film was so I don't feel like it's going to get me, sure I still wouldn't go and hold one but I feel a bit silly thinking they were like that". Now I'm sure everyone has their own individual reasons for preferring an animal over another, it's human nature to formulate our own opinions in things for our own reasons. But when the audience was offered a different style of question the answers were very different. One person I purposely posed my original question too (purposely because their ability to think outside the box and offer different perspectives on things) helped me formulate my next question for people. I will elaborate their answer: "I find it strange how people can make an assumption about an animal based on mere appearance alone. Most animals that we as a society shun or fear/have a mass of the population with a phobia of are usually quite soft natured and harmless. Yet most animals that are awed at are rather savage and confrontational in nature." They then asked me to describe 2 animals natures they suggested.... "For example you described the species that is generally feared as one that's naturally not confrontational, very placid when handled, shy, reluctant to attack and makes every effort to avoid people in the wild. But the creature i have witnessed many people in awe at, calling it cute and stating they want one are naturally quite aggressive, will readily bite you, is known as a problem because it raids nests etc. Describing the actual nature of an animal without telling people what it is and you tend to find the feared ones are pucked over the cute fluffly ones. It's very confusing how judgemental humans can be when we judge using appearance. Appearance shouldn't matter if it makes you overlook the genuine qualities of something". By presenting the animals in a different way to people the votes genuinely did flip with the shunned ones being picked more because they sounded nicer. At HQ we have something called the "undesirable 5" - 5 of our animals are considered as being too ugly or too scary compared to the others. Some may surprise you and some are plain obvious! #1) Xeno - She has generally caused the most 'urgh' ir fear stricken reactions out of all our critters. Yet she is the most harmless creature we have and the least likely to attack. They are very shy animals that would much prefer to run and hide than be near you. The mothers are also incredible parents that carry their young on their backs until they can fend for themselves. And Xeno's species are amongst the few arachnids to exhibit social behaviour. Mothers actively communicate with their young and the iffspring reciprocate with her and the siblings. Awwww! #2) Toni - Toni is relatively new here but has still gained a few uneasy responses. Bug hairy spiders generally freak people out it seems. But he's actually really placid, nice to work with and he's not unpredictable with mivements and never shown any aggression. My partner doesn't like spiders and he says he's quite nice! #3) Aida - Shocking! Lol. Aida falls into the 'snakes make people feel uneasy' part. I find the more 'python looking snakes' (sounds daft I know, but people generally think that boa's are pythons because their heads are a similar shape... from that perspective I can see where they are coming from). Aida is a dream to be around, she's so chill and I haven't got a bad thing to say about her, or pythons in general as I find that all I have encountered have been 'friendly to be around'. #4) Steve - you guessed it! But Sir.Steve response is split down the middle. He's a cute kind of scary. Hognoses are stated among snake keepers as being the friendliest snakes, but people are put off still because at the end of the day it is a snake. But they are still adorable because of their faces... the cute nose n all that 😂 #5) Chester - Rooks in general strike up much unappeal with the general public. They are seen as a nuisance by many and people will happily just shoot them without a second thought (Chester will tell you personally about that!). But a surprising response as to why people feel uneased by them is because of their faces! Some say it's the vulture-esque skin around the beaks, but a prominent remark us that they have a rather spooky, skeletal look about them. That twinned with corvid folklore/mythology and the asdociation corvids have to death in general seems to strike up superstitions making them unwelcome. I could go on about how amazing Chester is but I will save that for another time. So there's our unappealing 5! It has continued to intrigue me as to how people can judge based on appearance. It continues to drive us towards forming certain opinions and making decisions about animals and nature in general. Either way we are all entitled to our opinions! But keep in mind that looks can be deceiving, or things look a certain way due to their lifestyles/the ecological niches they fill and it shouldn't make them ugly.
