I know the animation industry has been going through a serious rough patch in the past 10 years. I just hope the medium and the artists making it can get the respect they deserve someday soon. So I wanna take a moment to spread a reminder of the powerful emotional scenes we've gotten from animation in the past 10 years.

You know what? This should be the opener for the Encanto series.

Like you know how they reintroduce Mirabel and the Family after the Prologue with “The Family Madrigal”. The scene opens with Mirabel getting ready for the day, so for the series it’ll be something similar with her admiring the photo before waking up the family with a song or just to the tune of “Colombia, Mi Encanto”.

I’ve always had a headcanon about the ending of encanto

So at the very ending the picture zooms out just enough so we see this frame around it. It’s very obviously painted presumably by mirabel (the butterflies and swirls) and also is the same colour as her skirt. But why does it only zoom out enough to see the frame?? well in my headcanon the ending was longer and this was an opening to an epilogue. Like I would just imagine it zooms out to this picture being on mirabels desk maybe in her new room? Or maybe it shows like a family member placing this down before the book ending door scene takes place? idk I think it would be so cute to show that. Like I am curious if the ending was trimmed down ? I mean the picture in itself was enough but the fact they showed the frame makes me think there was another scene after idk

i remember when encanto came out and everyone was complaining about how the abuela was forgiven so quickly. but at the very least she sincerely apologizes to everyone and we see her actually putting in effort to change. not to mention, i saw it less as the family forgiving her and more as them giving her a chance to redeem herself.

i wonder what those people would have thought of spop and catra.

Encanto tv series

In every episode Luisa tries a new hobby in the B/C plot and it goes a different direction each time.

There's 12 Madrigals so that already gives 12 character-centric episodes, + 12 if you want to do flashback episodes for each character so that's already 24.

Townie-centered episodes

Obligatory halloween episode where the grandchildren tell each other scary stories of the outside world.

Dolores and Mariano get engaged/married in a mid season finale/season finale.

Over the course of the series a trading&transport system is created for people to safely get in and out of the Encanto to the nearest town.

Obligatory "the oldest granddaughters go out and shenanigans happen." also Camilo and Mirabel spy/tag along.

Mariano goes with the other granddaughters out of the Encanto to get the best engagement ring for Dolores (because only the best of the best is good for her). Camilo and Antonio tag along and they get into trouble. Dolores hears everything and goes to bail her boyfriend and cousins/brothers out.

in each episode a part of the diverse Colombian culture could/should be explored. (food, music, dancing, fashion, history, etc)

Each season, new outfits for everyone!

Colombian traditions and holidays like Día de Los Santos Inocentes

So much can be done with this family. Not making a series would be a mistake.
