Arthur is used to the court, he is used to standing at a certain distance from his interlocutor, he is used to etiquette and protocols, to speaking in a certain tone of voice, to never lowering his eyes showing weakness and, as a result, he is used to servile people, to people who never respond to him in kind and to making do when something goes wrong and he would only need a hand on his shoulder because he would not dare ask for anything more.

Merlin is none of these things.

Merlin invades his personal space, responds to him in kind, hugs him when something goes wrong and reassures him with kind but firm words.

Arthur does not know why he expected Hunith to be something different, after all, Merlin must have taken after someone in the family.

Hunith, when Merlin decides to visit her and take Arthur with him because "you have to get to know my mother better!", bows on the first day and calls him sire.

On the second day, she already has him help in the kitchens and teaches him how to prepare a meal from scratch, not commenting on the fact that he doesn't even know how to mix a bit of flour and water and, indeed, resting a hand on his shoulder congratulating him when -Arthur knows- he has done the bare minimum.

On the third day, she hugs him.

Arthur holds her so tightly that he is sure he will hurt her, but he has never been hugged like this, not even by Merlin, and Arthur absolutely will not cry.

That night, lying on the bed on the floor with Merlin, Arthur hugs him and thanks him.

Merlin laughs and tells him he now expects a meal prepared from scratch from him.

Baby mc sniffling and hiding inside some wardrobe when one of their siblings find them and ask whats wrong.

"Osia is a big meanie" they sign with their tiny hands.

Adrei: takes the baby up in her arms, and tries stiffly to rub their back. Silently marches up to Osia and commands "stop." Since it's Adrei, Osia stops for a few weeks. (Then she does it again, but when Adrei is around she limits herself a bit)

Ghaven: shushes MC, cuddles them and feeds them all the sweets their mum confiscated (ha! Ghaven has found them). They will make sure to organise evil pranks to Osia, one for every time they find baby MC upset. (At that point, Osia is so enraged with Ghaven that she kinda ignores baby MC)

Emyr: sighs, sadly. Hesitantly reaches out with one hand to comfort MC and if the baby crawls on his lap to cry he'll stay still and hold them. Will subtly invite baby MC to read with him more - to keep them away from Osia.

Saraah: panicks, tries to comfort MC and agrees that Osia is a meanie. If MC is very upset Saraah cries too. He either goes to angrily confront Osia (who, at this point, looks at him like a harmless gnome) or shuts himself in with MC to play and made them forget.

Radel: is around MC's age, so he blinks and at the look of MC's teary eyes he starts silently crying too. Cue another sibling finding both babies in tears.

He called them tyrants, evil and sadistic mages – all of it sounds like a hateful little story I would hear back in the South from someone who’d call me a knife-ear and run calling for the templars, not like our reality. But I guess it’s true…”

Outfit designs for Taelon, the Prime Enchanter, and Emyr, the Songweaver ✨

Soooo some of my decisions for the outfits under the cut...

They both have mostly the exact same color scheme (and "'stealing" some of the shapes from one another, gotta push that they are a couple) but Emyr has red as the accent and Taelon has the gold.

Emyr has many many many layers, buckles and ties. That and the shoulders-heavy silhouette is supposed to have Broadway-esque vibes to make him feel like some sort of a performer. And a lot of wing-like shapes are there because, well, he sings.

Taelon's outfits are supposed to be over the top and scream 'mage', to make it obvious he's someone important and influential. Also scream 'sun rays' because fire based magic.

Anyway, I will stop rambling now. I'm not normal when it comes to outfit designs.
