Biases and behavioural finance
The investing decisions as well as in any life decisions can be compromised by the biases we have. Despite being based on the quantitative data, the investment models and decisions are frequently affected by the individuals’ psychology in form of fears and past decisions. At the high level, the biases are typically divided in two distinct categories: cognitive and emotional. The cognitive biases…

Political Stereotypes, A Cognitive bias—The Prevailing ‘Blue’ & “Yellow’ Colour Label Against A Person In Hong Kong
A ‘stereotype’ is a perception, for quicker and easier self-reference, about a person or group of people, likely relates to the negative feelings about them. Such a prejudice is often based on the past bad experience and rooted in the idea that these types of people are less trustworthy or more unreasonable than others.
Examples of political stereotypes are that most young people in Hong Kong are irretrievably anti-government, those who have foreign passports in Hong Kong do not like China or that the pro-establishment apple-polishers are sincerely nationalistic.
Scholars explained these 3 levels: ‘stereotypes’ are about how we understand a person and they are classified as a ‘cognitive bias’. We may think against him but we do not show any negative emotion. ‘Prejudice’ is the next higher level of ‘emotional bias’. It is the display of concrete negative emotions against the person that we do not like. For example, we tell ourselves, “These people are trash!” Nevertheless, we will not convert our emotions into any hostile conduct. Discrimination is the worst form of behavioural bias because it is transformed into overt behaviour against the man that we have stereotyped and felt bad about. The typical instance is that certain restaurants in 2019 did not allow people who were supportive of government to eat there. Some companies do not employ young people who once took part in street demonstrations.
The social disturbance in 2019 was a series of demonstrations and violence in response to the introduction by the Hong Kong government of the Fugitive Offenders amendment bill on extradition. The event caused our society to turn topsy-turvy. After 2019, people in Hong Kong have been still unfriendly politically to each other. They basically stereotyped each other into the following ‘colour labels’ according to the perceived, but often over-simplified, political inclination:
(1)   ‘blue’—if someone may be pro-government;
(2)   ‘yellow’—if someone may be anti-government;
(3)   ‘red’—if someone is considered as a communist zealot;
(4)   ‘green’—if someone is politically neutral; and
(5)   ‘blue’ or ‘yellow’—if the political stand of someone is situational upon the nature of issue in question.
We are all the colours of life. When we live together in harmony, we make this world more beautiful. But, when colours are in conflict with each other, beautiful sadness is just a myth. Sadness turns our features to dark clay, not shiny porcelain.
In Taiwan, people often condemn each other politically. Those who support the 2 opposing political parties often label each other as ‘green’ and ‘blue’. I never expect such a ‘mindset’ war to take place in Hong Kong. We have now followed the development of Taiwan by now getting very personal, indulgent in stereotyping and daggering are digging deep in our daily human interactions.
We pray that people in Hong Kong will not stereotype, criticize, point fingers or pre-judge. Judging other by simple ‘political colour’ labels is easy. Ironically, it also distracts us from the responsibility of judging and criticizing ourselves.
Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” MLee

No cause it's not funny at all when perisex trans ppl pretend to be intersex to "avoid trouble".
Being visibly intersex didn't protect me from trouble when I was 5 years old. It brought me trouble. I was 5 years old and people already made unwarranted comments about my lack of easily gendered features. I was never allowed to exist without my gender and sex characteristics being interrogated and punished repeatedly.
You're not protecting yourselves at all. Those who hate trans people hate us for not existing within their narrow scope of gender and sex. Intersex ppl have to face this from birth. I would know, man, I'm literally both.
If people are willing to call a child a "eunuch" and physically grope them as an act of public humiliation because they're intersex, as was done to me... Do you seriously think you're doing something by pretending? You're making things worse for yourself and for me. Stop it. I'm sick and tired.
And using intersexist terms while doing it, too, like "hormonal disorder/deficiency"... I'm not disordered or deficient for having a different body than you. Go directly in the bin if you think that's an okay thing to say.
I'm so tired of it. You don't understand. The violence inflicted on my body has happened since before I was old enough to know what my body parts were all called. You have no idea. You really, truly don't understand how exhausting it is. I'm not outraged anymore, not even upset. I'm just tired and want it to stop.
I want people to stop exploiting my body and I don't think that's too much to ask. Especially of other trans people who are supposed to hold community with me. The fact that other trans people are openly flaunting the fact they exploit bodies like mine for their own gain makes me want to throw up. You people are foul.

not indirecting anyone but i keep seeing the take that sam has power over dean because dean is so attached to and dependent on him. like it’s everywhere. and its just soooo fundamentally flawed. that is not how anything works. not to sound like a broken record but that type of dynamic (where one partner, the aggressor, views themselves as in fact controlled/dictated by the whims of the other) is actually very standard in an abusive relationship…
whether or not sam has ‘power’ over dean in this way is functionally irrelevant because his ‘power’ extends to his ability to somehow, what, psychically manipulate dean into doing what he wants?? whereas dean’s ‘power’ over sam is making sure sam adheres to exactly what he’s decided sam should do and punishing him if he doesnt do that, and deciding he has ultimate control over sam’s own decisions about his life (see main plot events of s4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, so on and so forth…).

Meet me at the west fountain, 11:00 PM.
It was the last message you sent him before you sneak out of your dorm, trying not to make any noise as you tiptoe on the wooden floor until you reach the doorknob. Thankfully, your roommate is a heavy sleeper - like, not even a car horn can wake her up, which makes your mission much easier.
Going out in the dead of the night was already a routine for you and Wonwoo. It sounds like those historical novels of a forbidden couple trying to love each other, but in your case, you’re not afraid of being found out; it’s just more comfortable to keep what you've been building together between you two for now.
You already share so many things about yourself with your friends, one less thing won’t hurt them. At least, you think that way so you don’t have to imagine Dokyeom pinching you for not telling him.
The small fountain beside the Arts Building is your cherished spot. There, you have a wider view to stargaze without constructions or lamp posts to obstruct nature, and it isn’t such a visible place, which gives you more privacy. It was your study spot way before you met your boyfriend, chilling with his headphones and moving his fingers as if he was playing an imaginary keyboard. Since then, you thought it wouldn’t be so bad to have someone like him around.
He, as always, arrives before you: sitting on the damp grass with his gray comforter wrapped up to his neck, gazing at the moon while a gentle breeze passes over him, making his black strands sway to the side. You really want to take a picture, but you decide against it, preferring to keep the view as a dear memory in your mind.
You approach, guessing he probably noticed your presence, and sit down next to him on the grass. Your sweatpants would get dirty with wet leaves and mud if it wasn’t for Wonwoo’s attentiveness, making sure to spread a sheet on the grass so you could sit. He smoothly moves his eyes in your direction, gazing at you with fondness, deeper than the way he gazed at the majestic moon upwards; as if you are more majestic than the moon to him.
And that makes you forget how to speak.
“Is everything okay?” His uncertain voice echoes in your ears, and you realize that you have been unresponsive for a few seconds. You offer him a small smile, moving to snuggle his arms and laying your head on his shoulder. And with that signal, he feels secure to envelop you in his arms.
“Yes, I’m okay..” You answer in a soft voice, and smile again when you notice his fingers starting to gently trace the skin of your hand. He might not be a talkative person, but his touches say more than his mouth could ever learn. You appreciate how comfortable he is to express himself in that way. “Did I make you wait?”
“No.” He answers you with a playful smile, making you doubt his words instantly: he would never blame you for being late. Before you could question him, he lifts your hand to his lips, pecking the back of it with care.
“You’re worth the wait.”

okay @biaweck brought this old piece to my attention in their recent post, and also made me go through all my old uploads to double check [horrific]. But apparently I never actually uploaded this one, so:
Tumblr media
My bad! 😛
This was started all the way back on January 27th of 2023, so it's like a whole year and a half old. Honestly, didn't age too horribly, I might redo this one at a later date [also Mike smokes, and you can't convince me otherwise [well kinda [see tags]]]
This redesign also REALLY needs an update or two, it was really hashed together at the time [which is a reason why it wasn't ever uploaded, if I were to guess]

i want it be known that I think Deku's been a shithead since Chapter 1, and I have always thought that. Had a problem with his supposed heroic qualities and 'saving' from the start.
It was fine when the story was about kids going to a Hero high school. That was forgivable, tolerable. So he worshipped Heroes. So he thought never spared a thought about Villains and how they come about. So he went out of his way to try to convince a 5-year-old grieving orphan that Heroes are cool because isn't disliking Heroes so unusual??? Well who isn't a shithead at 15.
It became less fine when the world started to expand, and the Villains got developed in much darker territory. But Deku stayed the same.
I never saw Deku as OOC in the last act. He's the same boring, incurious, unexceptional-despite-the-story-insisting-he-was-so-unique character as he's always been. It was just that the story was refusing to develop him, and then was lying to me on an even larger scale by trying to frame everything he was doing as actually groundbreaking and heroic. Still, I was resigned to it. I was prepared for him saving Shigaraki in a very unconvincing way that he didn't earn—but that Shigaraki would be saved.
My surprise is entirely that Shigaraki didn't get saved. That Horikoshi didn't do some asspull where Deku saves Shigaraki despite having done zero effort towards it.
But all of Deku's actions have been more or less consistent throughout the whole story. He's never given a shit about Villains. He's only ever worshipped Heroes and refused to think too much about any flaws in society. His brain is consumed by Quirks!!! Heroes!!! and never about like, examination of the conditions of his world that produces discontent and how to truly address that.
Broken record, but when he told Shigaraki 'i don't understand you and i can't accept what you do' and then basically agreed to ignore and dismiss Shigaraki's resentful "All Might acts like there's no one he can't save" when a cop told him to, all the way back in Chapter 69, it now feels like that was foreshadowing that he would fail to save Shigaraki. One might be able to argue that Chapter 69 was supposed to be the start of his change and development, based on the fact that he's supposed to be full of empathy (but note: never toward Villains; mean and aloof classmates don't count), but that didn't happen, did it? The story just let it stayed that way, and he stayed the same character he was.
He wasn't OOC back then, and he wasn't OOC now. He was just Deku.

I blocked a lot of blogs in the 911 tags, which was the right choice because now most everything I see are people enjoying themselves theorizing about the characters, relationships, and story they love. (Instead of constantly creating strawfans, burying themselves in confirmation bias, and riling each other up).
But I do think the 50ish people I blocked, when compared to the 1000s of 911 Tumblr blogs that surely exist, supports my theory that aggressive antagonism in fandoms are instigated by a loud minority.

One thing I like abt the rks dynamic is that Tsukasa is able to pretty consistently catch rui off guard… Rui is A Planner and part of planning things is being able to (at the very least) make an educated guess about how people will react to things. & I feel like he’s just kinda carried that over to how he views relationships (in that he’s very observant & knows what his friends are probably going to do). Side effects of developing a habit of people watching. Also he’s just a super intelligent genius I think he tries to think of all the possible outcomes of his actions (barring emotional ones. because he is stupid).
Tsukasa is definitely not an entirely unpredictable person but he does have his moments where he
1) says stuff that Rui clearly did not expect or realize (ie the card story from his twilight festival card where Tsukasa outright says that they’re worried about his health as a friend, not as a director + in pandemonium where Tsukasa says the trip is like a one off show and later points out that Rui should take more credit for his own growth)
2) or does stuff that Rui didn’t predict (ie insisting on doing torpe the pianist because it’d be difficult in dazzling lights + joining the disciplinary committee in his year up 2*)
Which I think is largely owed to Tsukasa being the opposite of Rui in a lot of ways, despite all they have in common. Very emotion driven vs logic driven (…ostensibly. Lmao)/open vs closed off/impulsive vs careful/following your heart vs following your brain*/“ok everything’s good now so I’m fine” vs tending to dwell on what could have happened**/present focused vs future focused.
Tsukasa is able to point out things that rui never would have realized and propose options that Rui never would have considered because he’s on the opposite end of things viewpoint wise. Also neat that this is kind of a continuing theme from the main story (tsk agreeing to Rui’s stunt ideas, literally chasing him down after Rui refused to rejoin wxs and making him watch a whole show Tsukasa put on to convey his true feelings).
*specifically in curtain call. Rui’s been a lot more emotion driven wrt wxs since then, but he does put a lot of thought into his choices before making them, whereas Tsukasa kinda just goes “this feels right so that’s what I’m doing.”
**referring more to ohe with Tsukasa recovering quickly & Rui thinking about wxs nearly disbanding pretty frequently, but Rui does dwell on his past a lot. “It was in the past so I’m over it” me when I lie. there are so many instances in this game of him thinking about his childhood or it being relevant to why he’s having an issue. Meanwhile Tsukasa is like “splendid! Confronting my past loneliness helped me get into character for thorpe! Ok I’m done thinking about it now”

Perception bias, round 2 Director's cut, Saigenos edition!
(or basically, how my brain jumps into another topic only loosely related to the original ask)
Thank you @itsmaferart For the wonderful ask again. :)
Warning: Long post ahead
-*-
Perception bias also serves another more...sinister purpose for Saitama. Psychological conditioning. There is potential evidence for deprivation of basic needs, conditioning for violence for protection and subliminal messages for suggestion, among other things.
Tumblr media
Being deprived of all these needs is akin to mental torture. But so is facing all of the underlying issues at once via hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy if the patient is sufficiently dysfunctional in a societal setting like Saitama happens to be. Especially if the therapies are performed...poorly.
CBT has shown to be the most effective intervention for people exposed to adverse childhood experiences in the form of abuse or neglect Criticism of CBT sometimes focuses on implementations (such as the UK which may result initially in low quality therapy being offered by poorly trained practitioners. However, evidence supports the effectiveness of CBT for anxiety and depression. Evidence suggests that the addition of hypnotherapy as an adjunct to CBT improves treatment efficacy for a variety of clinical issues. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its symptoms have been shown to improve due to implementation of hypnotherapy, in both long and short term. As research continues, hypnotherapy is being more openly considered as an effective intervention for those with PTSD.
In short, in order to heal mentally, Saitama may need to face mental torture because he has such strong willpower and such strong mental barriers shielding his vulnerabilities on a basic primal need. There only needs to be a sufficient trigger.
ONE sent Saitama home to restore his energy levels...because he's going to sorely need them for the upcoming confrontation.
Empty Void's ability to genjutsu people casually and cause parallel shifts in the reality and using these to abuse emotional dependencies is like a loaded Chekov's gun on Saitama's forehead. Because Saitama has been roleplaying to re-learn his emphatic skillset after he had suffered too much mental trauma.
That's why early Saitama did not even bat an eye when Beefcake killed his own brother but now he's empathizing with Hamukichi. That's what I call character progression.
Tumblr media
Even a compulsive planner like Saitama cannot predict what will happen because he's not familiar with Blast's maladaptive coping methods deep down. Blast is great at masking because they are coping methods so he can bear with his guilt and other issues and just wants to do things on his own, without assistance.
Tumblr media
This causes Saitama's perception bias about Blast who seems capable and emphatic, when he is in actuality unscrupulous and amorally indifferent if you really, REALLY study him hard enough.
My bro casually invited Saitama, who is sensitive to aggression, hostility and violence, to watch literal torture of human turned monsters, with an actual smile on his face. And justifying it with his end justify the means philosophy. That's awfully too close to being sadistic and cruel when you consider the ramifications.
They say "love is blind" and Saitama is wearing some rose tinted glasses on because Blast is straight up shady, but he does not see it because he's probably identifying with Blast so hard. Middle-aged, number 1# hero, powerful, confident, outwardly caring, intuitive, ruggedly handsome, positively masculine, secretly gay...you name it. Everything Saitama more than likely fantasies about being because he's so emotionally dependant on Genos and he wants to better himself for Genos due to all his insecurities.
Oh yeah time for some saigenos. *rubs hands*
Tumblr media
The very first Genos tells him is to tell Saitama to hide in order to protect him. Saitama has a lot of dependency issues since he has been a small child because he was so emotionally lonely and never got the safety he needed to cope well in life. There are definitely some underlying anxieties or disorders laying about.
Second thing Genos does is show just how smart, capable, cool and devilishly attractive he can be when he gets passionate and engages in combat. Genos can get an awed reaction even from Saitama who's emotions were being blunted during their first spar.
Third is showing he's not gonna judge Saitama for completely embarassing himself, even if he was to get naked around him and lower his inhibitions and showing him it would be ok to trust him on the level of intimacy he craves so dearly. (Season 2 Blu-ray & Dvd: Saitama and the mysterious heroine)
Fourth is showing that Genos is also extremely resilient even when getting hurt...because Saitama hates to see others hurting and he doesn't want it to happen because of him.
And finally the fifth...is because Genos is just as emotionally lonely as he is, but he's unable to let go of his emotional dependencies because he trauma bonds so deeply. He would rather double KO for a Game Over screen than let the monsters win over him and his loved ones on pure principle and take those he trauma bonds with him, because emotional abandonment and guilt would kill him deep inside, so he would rather end it himself for a shred of agency before he withers away.
All these draw in Saitama like moth to a flame and he easily lets Genos into his life. Because he identifies with the lonely teenage boy Genos with traumas who is so familiar to him like coming home.
-*-
Despite everything that has happened to Saitama, he tries to remain optimistic. He's not naturally prone to cynicism unless under great amount of duress. The worst thing to do against him would be Genos emotionally betraying him, betray everything that he perceived in him since the first day they met.
But Saitama has perception bias towards Genos too...such as that Genos is no longer the small teenage boy who needs to be sheltered and cared for, but a battle-hardened soldier. Neither is he a lost naive little sibling in need of guidance or chaperone but an adult wanting mentorship where he can be truly open about his own issues. Would be such a shame if these wrong illusions about Genos were to be shattered...painfully. If Genos were to ever violate that implicit trust Saitama gives to him.
My brother in christ Saitama, he's not actually related to you and he's not your family member even if you'd love him enough to adopt him or something. Not letting go of this notion will spell trouble, like wonky image of relationships and intimacy.
Tumblr media
(Yea Saitama please he's not actually related to you, even if it's kind of endearing that Saitama considers Genos to be as close like a family member)
It'll just get worse if Saitama confuses emotional intimacy with sexuality because of his bad upbringing when he's never had any friends and missing his parents too and all his role models have been aggressive and toxic people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Funny how Saitama's first conclusion about Dr. Genus being interested in his body was sexual in nature and he immediately got defensive. He essentially revealed himself as someone who doesn't even know for sure which way he swings. Which would be quite classic for infj demi but I'll get to that if it becomes more relevant.
Genos naturally knows best though, poor guy looks so disappointed haha. Doesn't stop Genos from attempting every trick in the book besides outright throwing roses at Saitama and arranging dates to get into his good side and woo him, he dressed up so nicely for a spar haha. Dressing to impress, yup. And then he got himself new shiny body and practically walked weeks without a shirt on just so Saitama would see it. (Chapter 185: Updates) My guy has it down bad for Saitama, but Saitama seems oblivious to Genos indirect advances and Genos gave up and finally found a shirt to put on.
(I would pay to see Genos actually chuck roses at Saitama though.)
Even Saitama has to acknowledge that Genos is objectively a hottie though, because in the webcomic he says something along the lines of "he's not even pretty" about Amai-mask and it really makes you think the standards of who Saitama considers pretty when even ikemen like Amai-mask won't do.
-*-
Genos unfortunately is growing up some pretty large perception bias about Saitama after the time travel fiasco. His idolization of Saitama is becoming obsessive and objectifying, like Saitama can do no wrong and that Saitama is some kind of messiah.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Genos also does not take no for an answer. It would be incredibly damaging to both Saitama and Genos when this perception bias is broken when Saitama gets too much on his plate to handle. Like for example...Empty void's specialty, messing with emotional bonds and inducing traumatic events like the illusion of death to break any emotional bond, just like he did to Flashy flash and Sonic.
Tumblr media
I do greatly anticipate how Empty Void's fight is going to proceed, we might be in for very big perceptional bias shifts all around, like Flash was forced to acknowledge that he's emotionally dependant on Sonic. (Chapter 201: You pass) And Saitama's idolization of Blast will come crashing down when he finds out what Blast is really up to.
I'll throw some funny perception bias at the end.
