Finally I'm going to make a post about it so I'm posting my comment here too, sorry for the repetition:
When duke first sees him, he says he's brilliant, everyone takes it figuratively. When the floating happens the first time everyone panics a bit.
Duke is simply: I told you so. it shines like a phosphorescent star, of course it's a meta.
Everyone looks at him with wide eyes.
The flutter appears the first time it falls and no one was fast enough to catch it.
Invisibility during a game of "pik a boo" (I don't know how to spell it sorry).
Intelligibility has its first successful candy steal, telekinesis comes in a similar way.
Shield construction the first time RH comes back injured and falls unconscious before covering everything up, danny wakes up heals and watches over his dad for hours, no one can / must come near! so shield. After that it is decided that he will have a medical training and spend some evening with Alfred patching up the batfam or making them cookies.
The eclipse happens by accident at school, it takes more than a week for him to tell his father about it. They trained it together but agreed to keep it a secret
The ectobeams the first time is that his father teaches him the safety of weapons and then takes him to his secret / private shooting ranges, as much to say that Jason is happy to have taught him safety.
Tech eclipse happens by accident as oracle had it one night when everyone was on the deck and alfred was busy/hurt. He helped with some low level hacking (because of course uncle tim and aunt barbara taught him "the basics") He hypers focus and "falls" into the computer. In the heat of the moment he continues to do what he does, succeeds, contacts barb' via his com' without her realizing that he is no longer physically close to the audio quality of the com'. It is hours later after having stopped the plot of the week that the situation is realized. The batfam is divided on the situation but it is finally decided that Danny will spend some evening with Barbara to learn this new ability.
The dream walk happens when a member of the batfam falls into a comma (no doubt magic), everyone else is on the pond and Danny falls asleep watching him and he wakes up together and confused
Ice comes at the onset of puberty, much like in canon, but with a panic of whether it's some kind of Mister Freeze disease that's infecting it
The wail arrives at the announcement of the death of one of the batfams see jason (they are better now)
I see Danny eventually becoming the group's field medic/emergency extractor but usually just Oracle's right-hand man. His ghostly urges make him want to help but his very pultions can disconnect him from logic. This situation is ultimately the compromise that has been found.
After that he is extracted and healed some number of villains, their henchmen and a lot of civilians. It is called the white flag. It is totally forbidden to harm him otherwise the whole gallery of villains and bats will fall on you, no matter if the bullets pass through him or he is almost uncapturable. Don't even think about it and if we hear you thinking about it, you're finished in Gotham. Unless it's the jokers...
Eventually he meets Jazz after she becomes an intern at Arkam and he has to check her background. Suffice to say that it was a week full of emotions...
So continuation of this post ->
Jason adopts Danny as his own.
At first he has no idea what he's doing and does extensive research on how to care for his new son. He fumbles a bit at when actually buying baby products as he's not sure exactly what he'll need, intill a mother of two spots him and helps him out.
In order for the batfamily not to find out about his kid he just puts Danny to sleep before patrols and locks his whole apartment down, leaving a camera to watch over Danny and check on him when ever he gets the chance.
Sometimes making a quick pit stop back to feed or put him back to sleep if he woke up.
Eventually he gets the hang of parenting and hiding his son. Intill hes just relaxing, reading a book at the end of patrol before bed. And gets an unexpected visit from one of the bat fam (I'm thinking nightwing but could be any). They look between Jason and the sleeping baby in a cot before they evidently become incredibly concerned and confused.
Where did this baby even come from?
Why is there a baby? WHY DOES JASON HAVE A BABY??
Jason has to finally Reluctantly reveal his sons existence and the whole family goes wild.
Bruce: I have a grandson? :0
Dick: I have a Nephew! :D
Tim: Should we be concerned?
Duke: Oh God, the Bird adoption tendency has passed onto Jason..
Damian: ... What
Cass: Nephew :D
Stephanie: I'm gonna be an awesome aunt! >:D
They all immediately try and meet the little guy but have a hard time when a very protective Jason practically hisses at them when they try to get close without his invitation. Especially Bruce. Telling them all that he'll let them met him eventually over time under his choosing.
First is Alfred and Barbara (obviously) who is absolutely in love with little Danny on sight. His little great grandson. And Barbara's technical Nephew.
Bab's absolutely melts when she gets to hold his little self bundled in fabric. And tears up when reaches for her face and gently munches on her hair.
When Alfred got to hold him and he had to wipe his eyes then well, he just has to do some dusting later that's all.
Next is the overwhelmed with excitement Richard. Dick is absolutely overjoyed to meet his little Nephew and immediately crys when Jason allows him to hold the little guy and Danny grabs one of his fingers. The little guy was holding his finger! With his whole fist!
Cass and Steph were after Dick, Cass absolutely loved him and even had a gift lined up for him (that others were jealous of since they hadn't even thought about that!)
A stuffed toy Bat that Danny immediately took and held close. Steph followed up with Cass's idea and bought clothes for Danny, JL themed because it was funny.
Both got to hold him and both got to take turns bottle feeding him. He went to sleep in Cass's arms and had to be taken back by Jason.
Next up had been Duke and Tim. Both were very intrigued to meet him and Tim even made the comment that he looked identical to Jason.
Black hair, blue eyes, white streak. He was honestly suprised to hear from Jason that no, he was not biologically Danny's father. And that it was just incredible coincidence.
Duke makes fun of Jason with the Bruce adoption trait the entire time.
When they got to hold him they fell for his little chubby face and adorable sky blue eyes. This was the're Nephew, and they would absolutely protect the little guy from harm.
Finally it was Bruce and Damians turn,
Bruce was holding in all of his questions and all of his excitement. In order not to scare away his second son who had finally given the okay for him to meet his grandson.
Damian wasn't as enthusiastic as all the others but Bruce could tell he was curious.
As soon as Bruce laid eyes on the little bundled form in Jasons arms. He felt himself smile and his heart skip a beat.
That was the newest addition to his family. His little grandson.
His sons first and foremost rule was that Danny was his adopted son and not up for Bruce to take. Bruce readily agreed.
And that Danny was not to ever become a robin. Jason didn't want that for his son.
Damian looked at the little baby that in turn, turned to face Damian with wide eyes.
Damian blinked owlishly as the little one smiled widely and reached for him cooing.
Jason was also suprised.
"He likes the demon brat?"
Damian gave his hand to Danny experimentally and Danny happily took it and did not want to let go for a while.
Damian wondered if Danny would like animals?
Would Todd even let him show Danny all his animals?
Bruce would not not lie and say he wasnt jealous at the little ones quick effection to his youngest.
When Jason asked if Bruce would like to hold Danny he jumped at the opportunity. A rare show of trust, a sign of repair to there broken relationship.
When Danny was laid in Bruce's waiting arms it took all he had not to cry then and there. He was just so perfect. Danny curled up a bit and with an adorable little yawn, and drifted of to sleep in Bryce's arms.
I have all these random cute and funny sernarios in my head of Danny interacting with the family as he grows up.
Thinking that the whole family actively try and keep the vigilantism a secret from Danny intill hes a bit older.
Also thinking of either Danny still has his ghost powers and they just awaken incredibly slow over time from toddler age (floating toddler would be incredibly funny) or when he's just starting primary school and he's just absolutely terrified with no idea whats going on and Jasons freaking out on what to do. (Adding a how to care for your Meta child book in his library.)
I'm this 🤏 close to turning this into a fanfic>°>
With like a whole story line and everything. This au's begging to stick.
Also I have some art for this lined up that I'll post next.
Also @starkcravingmad tag as requested:)

dead on main #3
destabilized Ellie and Dan are Jason and Danny's kids except Jason gives his permission to help stabilize the two when he's dead and when he's resurrected he has no memories of it.
Danny and Jason met while he was dead and had a teenage puppy crush sort of thing. The two of them had a lot of things going on with one still being a vigilante in their town and one being recently murdered, So they never really were able to get together before Jason was resurrected. The two of them are from different dimensions and only meet due to the fact that the ghost zone is every Dimension afterlife.
There is a bad reaction from Vlad finding out that Danny used someone else's DNA to stabilize the kids, Which leads to a very Reckless fight that leads to his parents finding out that the kids are halfas. The parents don't know that he is also halfa so they try to cure the kids. Danny flees To the ghost zone specifically to frostbite to make sure the kids are okay. While he's there Clockwork decides that was the best time to basically tell Danny that Jason's resurrected in his home dimension and that is probably best if he settles down there. Of course because Clockwork is still a menace before Danny goes through the portal he says that Jason does not have his memories of being dead and then pushes him through. Danny sets up his life there with Ellie and Dan.
Plot twist Danny ends up being neighbors to Roy in Star City. Danny is a trans single father of twins that appears to have run away from home due to bad situation. With all the Vigilante scars that Danny has it's a reasonable conclusion for him to suspect an abusive home.
Danny babysits Lian when Roy has missions and Roy babysits Ellie and Dan When Danny does work.  of course not always do their schedules so occasionally they have to call in another babysitter and when that fails we have the Red Hood himself. the unknown father of the twins( not really twins) and the Godfather of the other child( yes I made him The Godfather).
Danny doesn't instantly recognize him due to the very obvious change. Two of them meet a couple of times through Roy. Danny usually just accidentally stopping in at a bad time before Roy introduces them together and Danny hears his name.
Danny does not tell him that he's the father of the children because one he was dead which means he's going to have to explain what he was doing while he was dead. and two because Clockwork told him he had his memories erased. Danny of course has a lot of feelings about this and Jason instantly gets a crush. Jason occasionally babysits the kids when the regular babysitter isn't working Nor can watch each other's kids because of schedules.
A situation happens with Ellie where she needs to go to the hospital and Jason brings her. this leads to an emergency blood transfusion. The transfusion goes badly and isn't working so Jason asks if his blood will work. It works perfectly. Jason questions for a little bit. Danny, whose phone was broken in  a villain attack two days ago and hasn't gotten replaced, shows up at the hospital after finally being contacted. Jason questioned him a little bit  Danny freaks out a lot which raises Jason's alarms quite High. When Danny's getting some food for Elle and talking to doctors Jason does a DNA test. Jason gets the results a week later when Ellie's finally back home which reveals he is the father. He has a lot of questions about this.

We Didn’t Start The Fire
“See man, the moon!” Kid Flash said as they came outside, standing on the pile of rubble.
“And Superman! Do we fulfill our promises or what…” his voice trails off as a grinding clanking sound echoes behind them.
They turned around, confused to see a tricked out pale yellow Volkswagen bug trucking its way up the rubble and crumbled building blocks. It stopped before it got too steep, a man in a familiar white lab coat stumbling out.
Immediately, they were on guard, the man haphazardly climbing towards them.
Robin drew two batarangs in each hand, standing in front of Superboy as he got closer. It didn’t even matter that the Justice League had just landed behind them, if this CADMUS scientist tried something, Robin would be the first to defend Superboy. Without hesitance.
The man stopped in front of them, huffing for breath.
“You’re-!” He stopped, leaning over his knees with gasping breaths, “Sorry, one sec!” He held up a finger, gasping for another few seconds before stepping forward-
Chains of water surrounded him before they could blink, Robin looking back surprised to see Aqualad standing with extended weapons and a grim face.
“This is odd.” The man looked at the water wrapped around him, wriggling a bit before shrugging. His eyes zeroed in on Superboy, “You’re okay!” He said with a blinding grin.
Superboy recoiled and Robin immediately stepped between them.
“What.”
The man glanced at him briefly before looking back over Robin’s head, “You are okay right? I mean I tried my best but I couldn’t figure out a way to get you out- I mean if I’d known you were there to begin with I’d would have never-but then I wouldn’t have-
“Who are you?” Superman asks, suddenly close from behind them.
The man’s mouth clicks shut, looking between them all before a grimacing smile rises to his face.
He extends his hand at the elbow between the liquid chains, “Dr. Danny Fenton, ex-biochemical engineer of CADMUS labs Mr.Superman,sir.”
Flash zips forward, the eyes of his cowl narrowed, “Ex?”
The grimace turns into a wince. “Oh.. heh, yeah, I’ve found that arson is usually a pretty good kickstart of sudden unemployment,” there’s a thoughtful pause as he looks over the rubble, “It’s usually accidental though.”
Nobody responds.
“What? You didn’t think that lab fire started on its own did you? How else was I supposed to get you here?”
“There’s a Justice League public phone! That’s literally its entire purpose!” Kid Flash shouts, throwing his hands in the air. At this point, Aqualad cautiously lowers his water bearers, releasing Fenton.
“Oh, sure, I call a bunch of superheroes and tell them my boss is doing a Grow-Your-Own-Superman in the boiler room. That’d go over well.” He pauses, “Though the sidekicks was a surprise.”
The comment goes uncorrected, as the rest of the league has snapped to face Superboy the moment he says it.
Superman looks stricken as Superboy reveals the logo on his torn shirt.
Fenton unceremoniously breaks the tension, “Sorry I never asked, do you have a name? I’d feel really bad just calling you-“
“… They called me.. Superboy..” He says, still not looking away from the man of steel in front of him.
“That’s not-“ Fenton rubs his temples and sighs harshly, “Okay, I can fix that later, whatever-“
“You’re not gonna be ‘fixing’ anything, Doctor.” Robin snarls.
Fenton blinks. “Huh?”
Batman steps forward, “Green Lantern.”
Green construct cuffs snap around the Dr.Fenton’s wrists, though he looks at them puzzled.
“Superman, check for survivors in the damage, Flash find some salvageable evidence before it finishes burning. The rest of us, we’ll continue this interrogation at the hall.”
“Wait what?” Dr. Fenton says, perking up like a meerkat even as Batman turns away with swirl of his cape.
“What about me?” Superboy asks, desperation in his hesitant step forward.
Batman looks to Superman. Superman nods, and then shoots off into the rubble and emergency vehicles.
“For now, you come with us.” Batman says, and Superboy’s shoulders loosen just a hint.
The dark knight pauses again before turning completely, “And don’t think we’ve forgotten the rest of you,” he says, cowled eyes narrowed over his shoulder, “Robin.”
Robin shirks back, “Heh.. Right.”
“Wait what’s going on?” The Fenton scientist yelled back over his shoulder as Green Lantern pulls him away.
He starts to say something but the construct fully engulfs him now, shifting from a platform to a soundproof bubble.
It seems to shock him enough, Fenton tapping at the walls and looking like he wants to take it apart and take a sample.
Robin grit his teeth.
He was not gonna let these CADMUS freaks touch Superboy again.
Not Fenton or anybody else.

Super Phantom
Writing prompt #3
Danny reveals his ghost half to his parents and they took it well accepting him. As a result the doctors Fenton then backed out of the weapons deal they had with the GIW and are actively protecting Phantom from them.
The GIW don’t give up even after the anti ecto acts are being repealed and sabotaged the gas tank for Nasty Burger’s grill. This causes the explosion that would Kill Danny’s family and friends there for Jazz’s graduation celebration. Clockwork foresaw of a Dan event happening and froze time to take and de-age Danny, Jazz, Sam, Tucker and Vallarta. (Clockwork is a jerk and frankly blames Jack and Maddie for making the he portals that caused both Vlad and Danny’s halfa status and a lot more work for him. He is letting those two die.)
Clockwork then sends the Deaged to babies/toddler to different places in the Yong Justice cartoon DC universe. All the kids are liminal and have powers.
Jazz now a 3 year old is sent to Hippallita on Themescira. (Excuse my spelling) liminal powers make her strength on par with Amazons.
Sam, age 1 as well and sent to Giovanni Zattarra. Three year old Zatana gets a younger sister that also has the gift of magic. Especially nature/plant magic.
Tucker I had a hard time deciding but eventually chose Lucius Fox. (If you can think of someone better go ahead and make suggestions.)
Vallarie was Supposed to be sent to Ted Kord, but Lex Luthor was trying to tap into the watchtower’s zeta tubs but accidentally got clockwork’s portal instead. It cased he basket to be dropped instead of gently set down. Startled, two year old Vallarie instinctively activates her ghost tech armor. Now that is a curious unexpected asset Lex will find a way to utilize.
And finally deaged to one year old Danny is sent in a in a basket with a solar system print blanket with a envelope sitting on top. The portal opens and the basket is carefully set on the table with the note. Then clockwork places a folder thick with other papers of to the side. He retreats into the portal closing it behind him just as the apartment door is opening.
Clark Kent has just finished his third week of work at the Daily Planet, the evening patrol and even grocery shopping. Thoughts of the paper he needs to write and turn in the morning are on his mind as he enters his apartment in time to notice a Green glow wink out of existence from his kitchen door. He drops the now forgotten grocery bags when he hears the tiny heartbeat and rushes over to the basket on the table.
A sleeping baby. A baby! Wha- how had anyone. When his brain stops stalling he notices the letter. It reads:
Superman,
The boy’s name is Danny. You are the most likely to survive him learning to use his powers as they emerge. His parents died trying to protect him. It is not safe for him here.
I have already forged the legal documents naming you as his godfather and a cover story in the attached folder. Also three gold coins will be sent to you each month as child support. If anyone else looks at this letter the text will change to simply read that you are the godfather of this recently orphaned boy.
Clockwork.
Clark stood in shock rereading the letter in shock a dozen times. Before Lois snapped him out of it.
“Hey Smallville, it may not be Gotham but even in Metropolis you shouldn’t just leave your door open.” She called as she entered from the hall. Then she noticed the spilled bags of groceries on the floor. And came in. “Are you ok? You may be a klutz but you always pick u- Oh My God, That’s a Baby!”
Well that is enough for tonight. I will add on more later. Wonder how quickly this would grow if I don’t tag anyone? Eh just a few. @bloggerspam @confusedshades @hypewinter @zylev-blog @kizzer55555

Finally Getting Help (pt 13)
Masterpost
Danny was holding Jason’s hand so tight he felt like his fingers were creaking but Jason wasn’t about to say anything. They were waiting in the doctor's office for Danny’s first ultrasound and Jason was accompanying him as promised, if Danny needed to squeeze his hand that was what Danny needed to do then so be it, it was better the bolting, which it looked like he was considering. Leslie didn’t usually make people wait long but when she had an emergency she had an emergency, it didn’t matter that Bruce funded her clinic, and was sitting awkwardly in one corner, they could wait.
It had been decided that as Danny’s guardian and maybe boyfriend? Bruce and Jason would be the ones to go in with him, with Danny’s agreement of course. Jazz and Dick had both wanted to come too but they didn’t want to crowd the room or overwhelm Danny so it was decided they would stay close by but not come In. Just then they were waiting together at a cafe across the road in case they were needed.
“Alright, I’m sorry to keep you both waiting but you know how Gotham is,” Leslie said a little grim-faced and still stripping off bloody gloves as she walked into their room and tossed them into the trash can. “So, Danny right,” Danny nodded. “Will you come with me into a private room for your examination?” She asked, because of course she did, the phrasing too was carefully worded to not put him on the spot so if Danny was feeling at all threatened or uncomfortable about Jason and Bruce being there he wouldn’t be blamed for following her.
“You don’t have to,” She added quickly when Danny looked panicked and clung to Jason so tight Jason couldn’t help wincing. “We can move forward with the appointment if them being here makes you more comfortable?”
Danny nodded quickly so she nodded as well and sat down at her desk, opening a file on her computer. “So, you’re here for an ultrasound right?” She glanced over and Danny nodded again, he seemed to be feeling really shy, Jason had never seen him so nervous, Bruce looked worried. “But it says here you haven’t had a check up in years so would you mind if we do a general exam first? I would like to make sure that You are healthy before we move on to the babies.”
“Yes that’s fine, but you know I’m not fully human right?” Danny asked, she paused for barely a moment.
“I was told you had some differences,” she confirmed gingerly. “What should I expect?”
“Well, my heart rate is naturally slower than it used to be, and my body temperature is lower. Like I get to ‘healthy human’ temperatures when I have a bad fever. I don’t know what else has changed, honestly. I’ve been avoiding the doctor ever since my accident because I knew how my parents would react,” he said sounding tired and resigned.
“Well then we’ll take today as a paceline and monitor changes. If you’re feeling well today?” She suggested, she probably would have liked to get a baseline before Danny was pregnant but obviously that was impossible.
“Ya that’s fine, my heartrate is probably a bit fast because I’m nervous but I’m probably healthier then I’ve been in a while. I haven’t been getting into fights and I’ve been eating regularly after all!”
“Alright. I understand but there’s no need to be nervous. This is a safe environment, I won’t do anything that’s not medically necessary.”
“I know, if Bruce and Jason didn’t speak so highly of you I wouldn’t be here. They don’t seem to see eye to eye on much so if they both trust and like you you must be good,” Danny said with a little smile though he was still tense and pale. That anxiety wasn’t going anywhere fast. In the corner Brace gave a sort of strangled cough that had Jason glaring at him even though he didn’t really know what it meant.
“Alright, then let’s get started,” She said before she started Danny’s check-up, all of the normal things a doctor would do if a bit more thorough. Checking eyes, mouth, ears, heart and lungs, and reflexes, circulation and blood pressure. His heartbeat was slow and his blood pressure was low but Danny thought that was probably normal for him? She gave an unconvinced hum. “We’ll have weekly check ups and check it again then. If it’s sustained and doesn’t affect you then we can say it’s normal for you.” She agreed.
“Alright, well based on the information you’ve told me I think we’ve established a baseline and you’re healthy. Are you ready for your ultrasound?” She asked and Danny took a deep breath, Jason, still standing next to Danny, squeezed his hand gently.
“Ya, as ready as I’ll ever be,” Danny agreed.
“Thank you, just lay back and pull up your shirt please,” Dr. Leslie requested and Danny did as she’d asked as she pulled up the little monitor and set things up. In the background Bruce shifted so he could see the screen better. “There won’t be much to see,” Leslie warned, shooting Bruce a look as she applied the ultrasound gel. “It’s still too early.”
She put on a fresh pair of gloves and grabbed the wand, “Alright, let's have a look.” She said, pressing it carefully against Danny’s stomach.
Danny had let go of Jason’s hand while he lay down but now he grabbed around for Jason again, without looking away from the screen now showing inside his abdomen. Jason stepped closer and grabbed Danny’s hand, looking at his face rather than anything else, monitoring for signs the trepidation there might be getting to be too much. He knew Danny was nervous, but they didn’t want this to progress into a panic attack.
“There they are. Oh! Two, twins. You’re further along than I expected, 10 weeks by the looks of it?” She asked glancing at Danny who nodded.
“Ya, I’ve only been carrying them for 6 but they’re test tube babies,” he confirmed, his eyes fixed on the screen.
“Ah,” She sounded, nodding her understanding. “The little round things below their hearts are odd. Do they have two hearts? No, those ones aren’t beating…”
“Those are their cores,” Danny murmured before it seemed to hit him and he looked at Jason, his eyes wide with panic. “Oh my god I AM actually pregnant, it’s not just the cores, I’m pregnant, oh my god I’m pregnant,” he was starting to hyperventilate.
Dr. Leslie pulled back and Danny practically threw himself into Jason’s arm who held him tight as Danny hid against his chest and trembled. “Do you want us to call Jazz?” Jason offered softly as he held Danny and let him cry.
“No don’t go,” Danny hiccuped against Jason’s chest.
“I’ll call Jazz,” Bruce added, of course. He would want to help, he did care, but he never had any actual idea how to help. The emotionally unavailable bastard.
“Do you want me to leave?” Dr. Leslie asked gently. “I would like to have a better look at the twins to check on their development but if you need time I can come back later, or even another day.”
“Just-just give me a minute, please,” Danny sniffled as Jason rubbed his back.
“Of course. I know this is overwhelming,” Leslie said gently.
Jazz barged into the room and immediately hugged Danny a well, sandwiched safely between her and Jason. “Scruff him, it’ll help,” she told Jason, who nodded and squeezed the back of Danny’s neck.
He shuddered and then started to relax between the two of them, basically letting the two taller, and trusted, people hold him up. His sobs turned into sniffles and then a few deep breaths. “Okay, okay I think I’m ready. I want to know that they’re okay too. I know their cores are developing well but if they have human bodies, we need to make sure those are healthy too right?”
“Right. Do you want me to stay, or do you want Bruce to come back in?” Jazz asked gently.
“No, you and Jason stay please,” Danny said softly. He had thought it was right for Bruce to come in as his guardian, but it was Jazz who had really been looking after him for years. “There’s not much to see right now, just little blobs. We’ll tell him how it goes.”
Danny took another breath and then squirmed out of both of their arms and went to lay back on the table, pulling up his shirt again. Jason stood next to the examination table, taking Danny’s hand again, Jazz went and sat on the table by Danny’s head and stroked his hair while Dr. Leslie applied fresh jelly to his stomach since it had been worn off during his panic attack. Jason might have to change his shirt after this.
“Alright, let’s have another look shall we?” She said with a warm smile as she pressed the wand against his stomach again. She found the babies again fairly easily. “They seem to be sticking pretty close together,” She said with a little smile. “They’re active little things! It’s far too early to tell anything else about them but from what you’ve told me they seem to be on track and developing properly,” She said, pulling back and offering Danny a cloth to clean the gel off his stomach.
“Do you mind if we call Bruce back in? As your guardian I’d like him to be here for you treatment plan?” She asked.
“Sure, makes sense,” Danny agreed with a nod.
She nodded back and looked at Jazz, who nodded as well and ducked out to get Bruce. “While we’re mostly alone I want to know, do you know all your options Danny? You know you don’t have to carry them. They’re just embryos right now, not even conscious. Your health and safety comes first,” Dr. Leslie told him gently. She knew Jason was firmly pro-choice.
“No, I know,” Danny said with a little smile and a nod, looking down at his stomach and gently caressing it. “I know I don’t Have to do this. But I do want them. I’m already attached to them, you know?” He said looking up at her, worried that she would judge him. He hoped he was making the right choice, that he wasn’t ruining his life at 16 or something. Fuck he could be on that trashy tv show!
“I understand,” She assured, no hint of judgment on her face. Of course not, if she could treat rogues without judgment she sure as hell wasn’t going to judge a teen parent. She glanced up as the door opened again and Bruce and Jazz entered. “Right,” Leslie said, sitting down at her computer and starting to type. “You’re still a little malnourished so I’d like to get you taking prenatal vitamins immediately,” she said, glancing up to see Danny nod. “With your unique condition I’d like to see you more often than usual, weekly visits would be best for now. Once we’re sure you and the babies are okay we can go down to every other week.”
“I don’t think we need to do that,” Danny said, shifting nervously. “I mean you say the human side is looking good, and my ghost doctor says they’re developing well on that side, if slower than usual. I don’t need to come in every week,” He said looking hopeful.
She hesitated for a moment, organizing her thoughts and considering his words. “Even so, there’s clearly some bleed over that makes it hard to tell how healthy you are. I would feel better if you came weekly, at least for the first month so we can establish a true baseline.”
“Alright,” Danny said, drooping again, looking back at Bruce. “Can you make the appointment? I want to go home.”
“Sure Danny,” Bruce agreed, pulling out his planner to check their schedule.
“I’ll take you back to the manor,” Jason assured, using his grip on Danny’s hand to help him up.
“I’ll go back to the cafe with Dick, we were having a good conversation, I wouldn’t mind continuing it,” She said, giving Danny a smile. “Unless you want me to come?”
“No, that’s alright. Have fun Jazz,” Danny said, leaning against Jason and letting him usher Danny out of the clinic. Jazz waved as she crossed to the cafe where Dick was waiting, looking worried till he noticed them, then he smiled and waved. Jazz waved back and jogged across, about to tell Dick all about the twins no doubt.
Jason led Danny to his bike, and got on first, pulling Danny onto the seat behind him. Danny wrapped his arms around Jason and pressed against his back, half hiding from the world. Jason didn’t try to talk to him, he needed time to process. He would talk when he was ready to.

My brain is unwilling to let go of Twin AU prompts. Sorry for the long post lmao.
Jazz and Jason are getting pretty serious in their relationship, and honestly, they’ve both been hesitant to introduce their family members to one another despite constantly talking about them. They’ve been dating since she started her doctoral studies at Gotham U and she’s about to defend her dissertation, so it really is about time. He saved her in her first week as the Red Hood and he immediately felt at home with her (something, something liminal), she runs into him the next day at a coffee shop and thanks him for taking the time to help her.
Identities are obviously blown. Jason knows that her brother works in ‘politics’ and her younger sister is a travel blogger, and that the three of them don’t talk to her mad scientist parents anymore. Jazz knows that he came back from the dead, his adoptive family had a slew of issues in addition to their hero-complexes and that he would be prepared to kill for any one of his siblings. Their communication skills are top notch.
But then came the issue of actually meeting the family. Like Jazz knows all of the drama between the siblings but could not pick them out of a line up, or more importantly, know who to talk to if an emergency situation came up. Jason agrees, that yeah, it would probably be for the best if he could at least identify her little brother and sister if they had to like, meet at hospital or something.
So that was the plan. Invite just siblings over to their shared apartment, no parents and no fuss. (She even called Danny ahead of time to tell him not to portal straight into the apartment, he needed to walk in the door like a normal person. They could share Ghost King secrets later.)
Tim arrives first, he’d been working a case nearby and Jazz & Jason live pretty close to a nice coffeeshop, so he stopped along the way. He’d done some creeping to figure out that she drinks Chai so he brought one for her. Creepy and yet, endearing.
Ellie comes in second from the window, launching into a story about how annoying it was to find the place with all the gloom, didn’t this city have any respect for the dead? Tim doesn’t get it but Jason is laughing along so Tim files it away for later.
Dick comes in with a shit ton of Pizza he panic ordered, a fruit bouquet and two bottles of wine from Bruce’s cellar. Duke came along with him, a large tupperware of Alfred’s cookies.
Then Steph, Babs and Cass show up, immediately treating Jazz like family while also being hella suspicious about the whole thing. She notices them looking at her hands and Jazz explains that no, they weren’t doing this because Jason proposed. Steph and Cass are annoyed at Jason but tell Jazz she could do better if she wanted. Babs is happy they aren’t rushing into anything (she’s the only one besides Tim that knows how long they’ve been dating- this is just to throw out a red herring for the others)
Everyone is getting along and having a great time, Ellie being a natural entertainer along side Dick, everyone trying to tell embarrassing stories about Jason. Loud noises are coming from the hallway when they realize that neither Damian nor Danny had arrived.
Rushing out the door, the boys are alternating putting each other into choke holds and arguing about not being clones. Danny keeps phasing out of Damian’s grip and Damian keeps pulling out more knives. The hallway looks like it had been blown up and the two are continuing to yell at one another about going to a family dinner. Jason and Jazz just stare at them from the doorway, and wouldn’t you know it, they look like fucking twins.
Jazz grabs Danny, Jason grabs Damian, and everyone is fucking confused. Both sides of the family can confirm growing up with the twins, that neither are a clone. Ellie helpfully supplies that she’s the clone and that opens a whole other bag of chaos.
Eventually they get everyone to sit down for dinner and the night gets weirder from there.

Doctor Danny: First official chapter
The busy hospital was on its last leg. Nurses and interns were scattered, running around like mice.
Sounds of trauma care patients and emergency care patients alarms were constantly ringing.
In the midst of it all, one calm collected doctor cared tenderly for each patient.
He, was Danny Fenton, who used to be known for having two crazy ghost enthusiasts for parents. He still loved his parents despite how hard it was growing up as half ghost.
Jazz had told them a long time ago and they had ignored it for the most part. Like that side of him didn't exist.
It had hurt at the time but Danny had managed to move past it. After successfully securing his position as ghost king (on accident) he put his newfound authority to good use making the ghosts swear a vow to behave.
A ghost vow is a big deal, which is why Danny swore a vow in return acknowledging them, if ever a ghost were in danger he would help them.
After the lack of ghost attacks Danny found he had next to nothing to do. His only hobby outside of playing video games had been ghost fighting. He hadn't realized how used to it he had gotten.
Danny hadn't even picked the college he wanted to go to yet.
Danny approached the Nasty Burger, his last refuge.
That's when he noticed a man who seemed a little out of it. The man stumbled making Danny wonder if he was drunk.
Danny turned to go inside when the man collapsed. Danny rushed over to the man and rolled him on his back. He checked for a pulse but couldn't find one.
Of course he wasn't exactly medically trained.
Danny dialed nine-one-one and started to perform CPR as best he could.
He explained to the operator clearly the situation and the ambulance came in no time.
Later that night Danny was processing the events in his head and instead of feeling scared or nervous he felt excited.
He was thrilled to have something to get his blood pumping again. Which is why he applied for med school. He studied hard, using all the time he had to memorize all the medical information that he could.
After graduation he interned at Amity Parks local hospital before moving up his position to resident.
Only a week after getting his new position he was forced to leave the hospital. It was closing because of a lack of funding.
"Please sir! What about the staff or the patients?"
The head of the medical board shook his head.
"Dr. Fenton, this hospital runs on little to nothing to begin with, we are lucky to have even made it this far. The patients will be transfered and the staff, relocated"
Danny furrowed his brows in concern.
"Don't worry Dr. Fenton, your quite literally the best we've seen walk these halls, your sure to get a good recommendation"
Danny clenched his fist.
"What are my options?" He asked.
The board looked at his sheet, flipping several until he found the right one on his clipboard.
"You said you wanted to work at a busy hospital right?"
Danny nodded yes.
"There aren't too many around here, the busiest hospital I can think of belongs to a crime ridden city a bit far  from here." He said.
"Gotham City"
Danny's breath hitched. He had heard about Gotham before. It was notorious for its villains.
Despite that, it was alluring.
"There! Send me to Gothams hospital!" He said suddenly and eagerly.
"Okay, if you say so. Do us all a favor and survive alright"
Danny laughed, "sure, I'll do my best. No promises though"
Just like that Danny packed up moved to Gotham.
He had little time to research Gotham before hand but he had heard several mutters in passing of a place called Crime Alley, a strange nickname for sure.
Danny was sure that this place would either be completely clean due to police intervention or incredibly overrun.
Danny signed a lease at the Shirley Apartments.
"Are you sure about this young man" the desk lady asked him.
He smiled kindly.
"Yes I am, I've heard the rumors and have weighed the risk. In the end it might be helpful to know just how my patients love to receive the injuries they do"
The lady sighed.
"That's right, you said your a doctor. Be careful out there, any talent in Gotham is either warped by a villain or destroyed"
Danny was a little startled by the warning, apparently there was even more to Gotham than he knew.
"I'm sorry I forgot to ask for your name"
"Didn't give one, in Gotham it's best to remain anonymous"
Danny blinked a little surprised.
"It's that dangerous, well I'll take your word for it then, thank you miss" he said as he took the key from her.
He had been able to store the old car his dad had given to him in a locked garage. He wasn't sure how well it would hold up but there was only so much he could do against humans.
Ghost powers had little, of any, effect on humans when it came to offense. Defensively they were pretty great to have.
He had only brought five boxes with him, no furniture. Back in Amity he had been busy studying and had brushed aside buying furniture.
Unfortunately that meant he had no bed.
Danny was glad to have found a beaten up wardrobe. It was missing it's doors and was leaning to the side, even so Danny was able to fix it and hang his clothes up in it.
He grabbed one of the boxes and smiled warmly when he saw a Fenton Emergency pack inside.
His mom must've stuffed it there when he was looking, lucky for him it had a sleeping bag.
An air mattress would've been nice too, but it's the thought that counts.
Danny safely stored his two favorite pictures. One of him with his family and one with his friends.
They were hidden just in case someone decided to break in, not that there would be much to find anyway but it never hurt to be careful.
Danny went to sleep soon after despite the sounds of the city.
Danny woke up feeling refreshed. He grabbed his bags and hopped in his car.
Danny hadn't realized how busy Gothams hospital actually was. Danny pulled into Gotham General and as soon as he was in his scrubs and coat he was dragged into the frey.
"We need a doctor over here!" Someone called just as Danny had finished with a patient.
Despite having to run around all day Danny wasn't tired, his ghost half supplied him energy after his human side ran dry.
All in all Danny first day on the job was hectic and he had worked for fourteen hours.
Once he was back in his apartment Danny set up a table that he had pre ordered online.
Then he got to work. According to his knowledge, most of his patients had suffered from some kind of attack or other.
Most of the heavy hitters were villains named Joker, Penguin and two face.
The riddler was taken care of, Poison Ivy had been rehabilitated and Harley Quinn had broken free from Jokers choke hold on her.
There was also the less obvious villains, like the business man lex Luther.
Lex Luther was shady at best, while no one could get hard evidence on him most people knew to be wary.
But just being informed didn't stop them from falling into his traps.
Lately Bruce had done official business with Lex Luther, which made him a suspicious person whom Danny had decided to keep tabs on, he was wary of the rich and for good reasons.
The cork board above Danny table has a litter of documents and pictured pined by red string. The players who were out of the game were crossed off.
Then there were the vigilantes. A few of them had been known to be rough, a necessary violence.
Still they seemed to have little awareness of what their little battles did to other people. Because many people came in for minor injuries due to being caught in the crossfire.
Which meant Danny had to find a way to keep everybody in line so patients would decrease in number. Danny let himself sleep for four hours before returning to the hospital.
"Oh my gosh, Doctor Fenton is still here" one nurse whispered. It had been a full day and half, Danny was running on his ghost half that seemed to keep replenishing itself due to the toxic air of Gotham. A positive side effect.
"How does he never get tired?"
"Maybe he's superhuman" one girl cracked. They noticed as he rushed by them to get to another patient.
"He's quite handsome too" one said wistfully, "but who wants a husband that works all the time"
Danny noticed the next patient seemed tense and he kept screaming for his daughter.
Danny whispered in the man's ear and put a hand on his forehead. He had used a ghost technique he learned from Nocturne and the man calmed down.
The other doctors were impressed as they worked to care for the man's injuries.
Finally the head of the unit noticed Danny and after reviewing his chart had forced him to go home.
"I don't feel fatigued at all sir, I promise I am not compromised. I can care for the patients"
The head wasn't having any of it.
"Above all your health is just as important as the patients we care for. For them to get healthy, you have to be healthy. Go home Dr.Fenton, you can come back after you get at least ten hours of sleep."
Danny wanted to argue but he knew the head was right.
"Yes sir" he said before changing into civilian clothes and leaving the hospital.
Now that he was out of a hospital setting things like hunger started to appear.
Maybe he had been to focused to notice how hungry he had been.
Danny blearily noticed a fast food place. His instincts told him the food would be greasy and way too unhealthy.
Mmm, comfort food.
The nostalgia fought with his doctoral instincts and won. All Danny wanted was to sit in a booth and eat some greasy food.
Danny ordered the double cheeseburger with bacon with a side of ten pieces chicken nuggets and large order of fries.
Waiting, even for five minutes, was starting to make Danny ravenous. As soon as he got his food he sat down and started gorging himself.
It was pretty good food for a little fast food place in the world's worst city.
Danny liked the tenderness and crispiness of the burger, the cheese was melted just right too.
Danny dipped his nuggets in sweet n' sour sauce while fighting the urge to kick his legs like a happy little kid.
As Danny left the restraint he saw an alert on his phone for a villain attack and rushed to the scene.
To his satisfaction the culprits were already being hauled away in police custody. They were just small fries, not of them appeared connected to a big player, so Danny was free to shut them out of his mind.
Which is exactly what he did. Danny drove back to his apartment and let out a sigh of relief.
That's when he noticed his door was slightly ajar.
His guard was up immediately. Danny stepped inside cautiously. He was relieved when everything appeared untouched but the scare had sent him a trip to get stronger locks.
On his way back to his car from the store he heard sound of a glass bottle breaking in a nearby alley. It was small alley, from what Danny could tell it was also a dead end alley.
Taking a risk Danny stepped in and chills went down his spine when he heard labored breathing.
Danny rushed over and froze at what he saw.

Dont Blame the Boy
DpxDc Prompt
Bruce was no stranger to taking in children into his home considering the many he called his own. So he was no stranger to the struggles of a new family member, each of his children had been different.
Dick had been out for blood when Bruce first took him into his home. The boy grieving for his parents was set on revenge and had promised to make there killer pay. How different he was now compared to the child he first brought home.
Then there was Jason who at first was angry and miss understood. But as time went he began to see the book loving boy who loved to learn. He was always enthusiastic to learn but he could be brash and hard headed at first. Jason still held a great love for learning but the young man was no loner as open with the family and he had developed quite a dark sense of humor.
Tim of course was a kind and smart young man with a love for knowledge. The boy was a natural genius though he did need some encouragement at first.
Bruce could go on and on about them and his other children. He was proud of how far they had all come with Damian the most recent addition before now.
Now though he was faced with a challenge, he was faced with young Daniel or Danny as the boy preferred. Danny had only lived in the manner for about 2 months now and still they had no progress of pulling the boy out of his shell.
Bruce had been reluctant at first to take in such an unstable child but when he met the boy he couldn’t say no. Seeing such pain and distrust in the boys eyes broke Bruce’s heart.
Danny had fallen victim to his parents over a year ago when they had decided he was something no longer human and as such needed to be researched. They had experimented on there own child for over a year before the boy finally broke. The boy had snapped after all the tournament they had put him through before he went on a rage filled massacre.
To put it lightly there wasn’t much left of the Fentons by the time the police arrived to investigate a call made by some concerned citizens.
With the state of the lab and Danny himself the police had called in the League for assistance where Danny was then rushed to the tower for emergency care.
Danny had been in a medically induced coma for over a month because of his violent reaction to anyone who approached him. And after he was put through intensive therapy mental and physical with several doctors.
It had been months sense then and the boy no longer acted like a caged animal but he was still very much an animal, lashing out when he felt threatened or cornered, retreating when things became to much and he didn’t blame him.
Bruce understood why the boy didn’t trust people, didn’t trust adults. After years of people failing him and the year of torment? He didn’t blame him.
Bruce didn’t blame the boy though and he was certain that with time and care Danny would come out of his shell and join the rest of the flock but till then they would work the best they could to make him feel safe and comfortable.
No he didn’t blame the boy at all

A DC X DP IDEA #12 Ice Ice baby
Imagine dis…
It is always Danny having an ice core, but what made him have that type of core in the first place? He died from electrocution shouldn’t he have an electrical type of core? Or even a ground type of core to combat the electricity that killed him, or is it because the original fandom dedicated that for the rest?
Life was great for Dr. Victor Fries, despite living in Gotham he was at the top and peak of his career as a scientist in the field of cryogenics as well the fact that his beloved Nora and he are about to start a family of their own.
At the seventh month mark of Nora’s pregnancy, she began coughing out blood, later diagnosed as an unknown terminal illness. Dr. Victor tried curing his pregnant wife using his specialty in the field of cryogenics, but each day passes her terminal illness began spreading throughout the body and it began to harm both mother and child.
Nora began looking at articles about babies who had survived by their 7th-month mark. She couldn’t take their child, the product of their love, the least she can do is to make sure that their child survives and hopefully that her child never gain whatever illness she had gotten.
Finding a good doctor that can perform an emergency labor on her is a miracle, it may be a risk, but it was a risk she was willing to take, for her child.
The moment Victor learned what Nora had been planning he rushed to the address at hand where he had just read a small note containing her plans and details.
Reaching the small clinic Victor saw his weakened form of his wife cradling a very small baby that was covered in blue blankets, slowly walking forward with his eyes still on the newborn he noticed that their child is a perfect combination of both he and Nora, his black hair and Nora’s bright blue eyes that seemed to complement with each other. Breathing out he already knew that he fell in love with his son, despite meeting minutes ago, he swore to give his son the life he never had during his childhood. Being abandoned by his father and having a terminally ill mother he swore to the heavens above that they will both protect this little family that they have with all of his might.
Nora was crying softly as she held her child close to her, their son is alive and quite healthy despite being born after 7 months. At that moment she knew she became selfish, she wanted to witness all of his firsts, his first words, first tooth, first steps, and many more. She wanted to be with him as he grew up, she wanted to be with the two people she fell and gave her whole heart to, till she was old and gray, she wanted to live.
She kept apologizing to their son for how his momma wouldn’t be there for him, apologizing for being weak to the point she had this illness that may or may not affect him. For being to grow up without a mother at his side. She kept apologizing and whispering reassurance that her love will hold no bounds and be with him.
She looked at Victor with clear love in her eyes and told her to promise her that their child will live a life full of love and safety that they both didn’t receive during their childhood.
But Dr. Victor was anything but a stubborn man, he had put his wife cryogenically frozen state until a cure can be found. Taking care of a delicate newborn with a frozen wife he began looking for cures using his specialty as well using the connections he has to find a cure for her, but then the accident happened, leaving him drastically lowering his body temperature to sub-zero levels, forcing him to wear a cryogenic suit to survive.
Looking at himself Victor Fries resolved his will and determination to not only save his wife but also give the best possible life for their son. But with his cursed fortune and this cursed mutation of his, he knew he couldn’t give their son the best care and love.
Calling in a friend who had owed him a favor he carefully instructed the man to smuggle their son outside of Gotham and leave him in a good orphanage that lets them eat food three times a day as well as being able to bathe every day.
It might be better to leave his son in an orphanage in Gotham but the system is corrupt as the Gotham City police department.
As the day finally arrived, he took one final look at his son, burning in the details as he gave him to the friend as well as a small amulet with delicate details of snowflakes that contains a picture of him and Nora who had a noticeable baby bump.
Looking in the direction where the car had disappeared from a silhouette to nothing, he had burned a small amount of paper erasing any file be it paper or digital, as to hide any connection that he had a son. He was not afraid to dirty his own hands to find a cure for his wife and maybe just one day they will be a complete family once again.
Danny grew up knowing he was adopted, his parents had explicitly explained to him that his father had no other choice but to give him up for his life. According to the stories of his parents, his father supposed friend had dropped him off at a fairly well-taken-care orphanage and at the age of a year and a half he was adopted in the Fenton family. He had nothing in his possession or with him aside from the baby blue blanket that he used to refuse to part with and the snow-shaped locket that the caretakers must have guessed from his real parents.
Growing up there had been incidents that kept him questioning his normalcy like the time he had stayed in the cold snowy evening night just outside the Fenton works without catching hypothermia.
He wasn’t even a ghost at that time, he had found comfort during blizzards and the softly fallen snow, where people huddle up in their jackets or even the warmth of their homes, he would notice himself looking longingly at the coldness outside his home.
Learning about he had an ice core made him question as well be invested in ghost biology, with the help of Frostbite, ghosts tend to form their core where in they were comfortable or even what their personality is as it would mirror their core perfectly. His love for the coldness was the first thought that came to his mind but then he began questioning who had been his real parents, ever since he had done a project in tracking down their family tree using their DNA.
Doing his research behind the Fenton couple’s back there he learned of his parentage, Victor and Nora Fries, He also learned that his supposed biological father is a supervillain that had escaped Arkham multiple times. While the mention of Nora Fries was mentioned briefly as being Victor’s wife, she was reported missing and later died as the police had speculated that the villain Mr. Freeze had killed her in cold blood due to her attempts in fighting the now villain Mr. Freeze when he was just starting.
But Danny lived with two scientists who may have biased opinions on ghosts but were able to work around slightly toxic materials, and able to turn them into weapons. His sister is a straight-A student complete with medals and honors and on her track to being a phycologist. Lastly, his best friend is a tech genius, he had picked a thing or two.
He always wondered why on earth Mr. Freeze would always team up with scientists that have some sort of medical or biological major, or even the fact he would do almost any job as long it involves money or even some parts that are some sort of machinery that was used for medical purposes.
Digging information using the IP address of the Ghost Zone revealed that Nora Fries aka his biological mother, had developed an unknown terminal illness and was left in a frozen state by her husband to halt the disease from further spreading while he tries to find a cure.
It was never mentioned that Nora Fries was pregnant.
Looking at a single picture of both of his biological parents he could see the resemblance between him and them, his mother's eyes were something that kept his attention on her.
Looking closely at the picture that he had managed to recover, he saw a small locket that both of his biological parents have been wearing.
Clutching at the locket that was wrapped around his neck, he had long figured out how to open the small locket.
Years pass by and many things had happened between the time he had died and the time he had discovered his real parents.
After coming out as Phantom to the Fenton couple, both of them began to cry for being neglectful parents to the point they didn’t notice that it was their son that they were hunting, it was their son who had died in their supposed greatest life achievement.
Next, he managed to scatter and destroy every GIW base with the help of his parents, family, and friends to the point that the cause of destruction will never lead to them.
He had become King of the Infinite Realms, though right now he was still in training as it was agreed upon in both worlds that once Danny died once again, he will take the mantle of being the High King while being immortal and still have his human half.
Since he had retired from being the hero Phantom in Amnity Park since he had ordered the ghost to stay in the Ghost Zone and if they wish to fulfill their obsession they have to write a contract that states that they will not harm the citizens as well not to cause massive collateral damage on the surrounding area, today both ghosts and the citizens of Amnity Park live both in harmony and peacefully.
Being an astronaut was off the table seeing his new physical state, asked Walker who his maternal grandfather was well as had the official title of being the rule enforcer of the Ghost Zone. For a bit of advice as to what kind of career he should take that fulfills his obsession since he cannot continue the heroin during this peaceful time.
Walker suggested becoming a doctor, since both protect and save lives.
Danny paused and laughed at the pure irony of what had just Walker suggested, seeing that he rules the dead in his ghost half while he saves people from their injuries and death by being a doctor in his human half.
But at that moment Danny thought to himself, just maybe if he had learned enough maybe he could just heal his mother.
Making up his mind, while taking courses in college to become a doctor, he went back and forth from the living world to the Ghost Zone to learn from Frostbite and the other yetis seeing that the Infinite Realms are connected to different worlds that have a different cure to different diseases, With Clockwork’s help he was able to squeeze the knowledge from both human teachers and the yetis.
Moving to Gotham was something planned as the Fenton’s learned that he wishes to find his biological family and promises them that no he on not replace them but only merely wishes to meet them at least once.
After months of settling down in Gotham, he had built a reputation in the Gotham streets where common thugs, criminals, supervillains, rouges to even the family next door. Like a doctor namely Dr. Leslie Thompkins who has her clinic as a neutral ground and won't snitch at the Bats or even the Popo for any information the patients she heals.
Danny became a doctor who has a reputation for having a weird sense of payment to his patients. Ranging from money to pennies, from a gun to a magazine of bullets, from fruits to vegetables, from flowers to full-blown saplings of trees.
It has been more than a year that consists of healing some of the Bats that involve some feral, miscommunication as well some shenanigans moments that involved the entire Bat clan, as well some of Batman’s rogue gallery when Mr. Freeze his father approached him.
Freeze is getting hopeless each passing year, each year with no progress towards Nora’s cure from her terminal illness the fact that it had been two decades since he last saw his son. Don’t misunderstand him, he did not regret that he had given his son up for adoption, he has a better chance of being adopted by a happy and caring family and they could give him the love that he deserves.
Maybe he lamented at the fact that if he could’ve raised his son, witnessing him grow up into a fine young man but on the other hand. maybe he could’ve been ostracized for being related to a supervillain. But he had promised Nora that their child would grow with love and care, something he couldn’t but could have done, but with his career path today is something he would have been ashamed of, he would rather have an honest paying job than his son could be proud of, not some villain who’s only memorable thing about him is that he’s main attacks are ice.
As he was sitting in his cell in Arkham he had heard whispers about a new doctor that had his entire operation set up just at the edge of Red Hood’s territory, from the new people who had been just arrested carrying new information and news from the outside.
At first, he thought that those guys were just speaking nonsense as most doctors in Gotham are either chasing those high-paying salaries from the top then taking care of the lesser people like Dr. Leslie add to the fact that he wishes weird payments like that one-time he heard one of the goons say about the mysterious doctor asked for a chicken as payment, but each passing day he learned more and more of this mystery doctor’s credibility. The tipping point was hearing the news that even the Bats have come and gone from his clinic, with the Bats as patients raises not only their credibility but also their skills. He thought that maybe this doctor could make a diagnosis of his wife, something he had done with Dr. Leslie in the past but it wouldn’t hurt.
Breaking out of Arkham with the rest of the prisoners he made his way towards the supposed clinic and prepared himself to beg as well to prepare whatever kind of payment will the doctor ask for, but the moment he saw the doctor himself he began to feel some sort of longing, caring, and love towards this doctor that made a small memory of his flash. Shaking his head, he explained to the doctor about needing his service while ignoring the obvious tell-tale signs that were in front of him.
Danny was freaking out on the inside, he already has the procedure to cure and heal his biological mother’s illness but the fact he couldn’t locate her through mortal means made it a lot harder to cure his mother, But Mr. Freeze/ father is now in front of him after he came through the door and being asked to run a diagnosis to Nora.
Going to a secret hideout deep below Gotham there he finally saw in person, his mother, she is breathtaking. Her blonde hair seemed to flow above her like a halo while her eyes may be closed but he will bet every gold that he owned that those eyes that he had inherited were also lovely.
As time went on both Danny and Mr. Freeze created some sort of bond between the two while Danny is working on the cure as well maintaining his neutrality as well services to Gotham.
Danny didn’t mean to hide his identity from his father despite that he looked like a female version of his biological mother add to the fact that he didn’t bother to cover himself up when he entered a sub-zero degree lair of Mr. Freeze, as well he has the identical necklace that both Mr. Freeze and Nora currently wears.
But he was satisfied to have some sort of bond with his father as well as being able to meet him and Nora.
One day he may leave them but knowing that both of his parents were fine and happy with their life he is content.
It was when Nora woke up that his identity was revealed.
It was early in December when Nora finally woke up, Mr. Freeze with utter joy rushed to his wife and held her as if she was going to disappear, now they only need to track down their son, just to see whether he was happy or not.
The first thing Nora noticed is that her body is sore and stiff to move, next her husband crying and hugging the life out of her, and lastly a quiet doctor was in a corner looking longing at the pair. At first, Nora was confused at the emotion present on the doctor’s face but when she took a second look at him before her eyes widened at her conclusion and she began to reach out to him as well.
Seeing this Victor explained that this young man is the doctor that saved her life and began thanking the said doctor as well as asking for whatever payment he may ever want from the couple. Nora just looked t her husband with confusion written on her face and asked why on earth he talked about the doctor as if he didn’t know his son.
Victor paused at his wife’s reply and looked at the frozen doctor, looking closely he may have smacked himself to oblivion due to his denseness as well stupidity. Began noting down the similarities between his own and Nora’s, as well as what he had remembered from his son. Black hair forms his own, same face and cheekbones as his mother as well as her eyes. He began to tear up, what kind of a father he is to not recognize his son? As while Nora merely took a second to recognize him.
Did you know? A mother never forgets.
Slowly Danny reached for the locket underneath his shirt, presenting the same locket that Victor gave to his son.
Stating that the only payment that he needed is just a hug.
Both parents beckoned him to get closer for a hug that was long overdue from both sides.
It has been a few months since the small family of three was reunited and moved to a small yet lovely home near the outskirts of Gotham, with Mr. Freeze leaving behind the villainy path and becoming a mechanic alongside his son and wife as they try to make up for the lost years they could have. But Victor began to discover things that his son would rather die a second tie to reveal those secrets to his parents.
Danny was too cold for a human Victor noticed and began looking and observing him. When he was still by Danny’s side, he made sure that Danny is a healthy baby, so looking at him now he is getting worried.
Maybe he might have got Nora’s illness but somehow mutated due to his genes. It may have been an accident that caused his mutation but the fact he survived with some changes in his body made him believe that he may have some sort of a meta gene that was dormant and showed itself after the accident.
Danny waved it off as if it was normal but the moment Victor Fries heard the slow beating of his son’s heart made both parents freeze.
Now it is a race against time to save Danny, Danny’s patients who became regulars at his little clinic learned about his possible illness and began coordinating with his parents as allies and friends in Gotham looking and searching for a hint of a cure. While the crime prince of Gotham is planning Danny’s demise.
Danny is now stuck trying to explain to his parents and the Bats while the Joker tried multiple times to end Danny’s life who is still oblivious to the Joker’s attempts while the rest of his family and friends were not so blind at the attempts.
….
PS: If someone out there wanted to continue or make a fic about this you are free to do so don’t forget to tag me though.

Ghost Boy, Where Art Thou?
Summary: After arriving in the Far Frozen, Sam and Tucker hope to become one step closer to finding Danny.
Me: Back at it again at Krispy Kream *backflips into oblivion*
Word Count: 4,912
Tucker took another sip of the hot chocolate and felt like sighing as the brown liquid quickly warmed and soothed his throat, then began heading down to his stomach. Suddenly, he was glad Danny had stashed some hot chocolate away here for “emergency purposes” only, and totally not because he knew that they wouldn’t go through the trouble of traveling the Ghost Zone and search the ghost yeti’s village just because they wanted to get into it.
Frostbite knew exactly where it was, though, and had some made for the two humans. Another ghost yeti, SpearFreeze, had gotten them both one of the extra blankets made with fur from one of the ghost monsters they hunted in the past. One of them was big and heavy enough for them both, so they huddled together and wrapped it around themselves as much as they could.
The warmth was finally seeping through their clothes, and even though Tucker’s fingers stung a little bit holding the mug with how warm it was compared to the dropping temperatures outside he was just in a while ago, he kept a grip on it knowing that the sting would go away soon.
Frostbite sat across from them in the doctor’s room they were currently in, glancing between one of the screens displaying the results of Sam’s and Tucker’s scans, and a clipboard.“Your health looks good. I don’t believe either of you have gotten sick.” He said.
“Thanks, Frostbite.” Tucker said. He recalled the times Frostbite spent an hour or two asking questions regarding human health. The next time they visited, they brought him a few books on human health to give him more information than they could.
“You’re welcome. Now, what’s this about Danny? Is he alright?” Frostbite asked.
Sam and Tucker briefly glanced at each other, then back at Frostbite.“We were kinda hoping he was with you. Two nights ago, he was supposed to meet us at Sam’s place, but he just disappeared! The next day, we figured maybe he went into the Ghost Zone and got a little lost or was visiting someone and lost track of time.” Tucker explained.
“Yeah, if he’s not here, we need to check other places once we’ve warmed up.” Sam said.
The corners of Frostbite’s mouth quickly creased downwards and his eyes went wide. He stared silently at them for a moment before speaking again.
“He is missing?” He asked in slight disbelief.
Sam and Tucker nodded.
“I will help.” Frostbite said. He stood up with a sudden determined look on his face and began heading towards the door.
“Wait, what?” Tucker asked, caught off guard by the sudden decision.
Frostbite stopped in his tracks and turned to look at them over his shoulders.“He may be the one who defeated Pariah Dark, but he is still a child. I will help.” He repeated.”I will let the others know about this. You two will wait here.” He said. Before Sam and Tucker could say much more, Frostbite was gone.
After his loud footsteps faded, Sam turned to Tucker.”You think they’ll try to use the Infi-Map?” She asked.
A hopeful smile broke across Tucker’s face.”Yeah, they’d find him in no time!” He said. Tucker had completely forgotten about the map. Now that he remembered it, he was grateful they tried the Far Frozen first.
“If he’s in the Ghost Zone.” Sam pointed out.
“And if he’s not here, where should we search first? I think Jazz already told her parents about Danny missing.” Tucker asked.
“Wait, what?” Sam raised an eyebrow in confusion and sat up straight from her previously hunched over form.”We’ve only been in here a few hours, haven’t we?” She asked.
Tucker shook his head.”No, we’ve actually been in here a while.” He said. He reached into his pocket and fished out his cellphone, which had a stopwatch that showed they were there for over a little over 24 hours.”Remember when we got tired and took turns piloting the ship while the other napped?” He asked.
Sam’s eyes widened as she realized what he meant.”Oh.” She said.
Tucker put the device back into his pocket.”Jazz called while you were napping, when we were just a few hours away from the Far Frozen. She said she informed her parents and that they were heading out to look for him themselves before calling the police.” He explained.
“So chances are the police have already been called.” Sam guessed.
Tucker shrugged.”Depends on where they’ve searched. Once we get good cell service, we’ll call them.” He said.
Above the underground hospital, carved into the side of a mountain, Frostbite stood by a large table consisting of five other ghost yetis. The walls of the room were mostly rock and ice smoothed out. The table itself was made of clean, white metal and round.
One of the other members had a patch of fur missing from the left side of her head and a missing left horn, and some of her neck fur was missing and scarred as well. Galeforce was known well for her reputation in battle, and the story of how she’d gotten burned inspired many young children into becoming warriors, and her red cloth symbolized her position as a council member.
Beside her was SpearFreeze, the youngest member of the council, and next to her was BearIce, who was sporting the same red. Frostbite watched the remaining members, CandleBreeze and TundraWood take their seats. CandleBreeze was the oldest member and often moved slower than the rest. TundraWood waited until CandleBreeze got comfortable to sit down.
“Thank you for coming on such short notice.” Frostbite began.”We have a problem that I believe requires our help. Incase you weren’t informed, Sam Manson and Tucker Foley were found about thirty minutes ago. After bringing them inside, they told me their arrival was thanks to Danny Phantom suddenly disappearing.” He said.
The other members all gave surprised responses to this news. Galeforce stood up and placed both hands on the table almost immediately.”What?! He’s missing?!” She exclaimed. SpearFreeze lifted a hand up and grabbed her arm to pull her back down, which Galeforce allowed and sat back down.
“Yes. They said he was supposed to meet them two nights ago and never arrived. They already searched the path he took several times and informed the Great Ons’s older sister, who has likely told their parents by now, while they come into the Ghost Zone to continue the search.” Frostbite explained.
“You want to help them search.” SpearFreeze said.
Frostbite nodded.”Yes.” He confirmed.”But I also know we can’t rush into things. We need to organize a search party first.” Frostbite said.
“And take into account the places we can travel to.” Galeforce said. She propped her elbows onto the table and held her own hands, something she sometimes did when she was debating something in her head.”And how many we can even send out…” She muttered.
Frostbite nodded. Due to living on the ground for so long, his people had forgotten how to fly and were unsure if they even could, instead relying on technology. Technology that only had so much battery life.
“Are we sure a search party is necessary? I’d never want to make the situation of a missing child seem any less severe than it is, but he’s a great fighter, is he not?” BearIce asked.
“As much as you’re correct in saying he’s a great fighter, no one has had been able to contact him in over 48 hours. I believe since our friends had come all this way, we could at least help them search here if we can’t reach other parts of the Ghost Zone.” Frostbite replied.
BearIce hummed in acknowledgment.”Then we’ll start here. Galeforce, are any of your hunters busy?” He asked.
Galeforce stood up again to leave.“A few, but not all of them. I’ll organize a team right away.” She responded.
~~~~~(Meanwhile)~~~~~
Danny truly wasn’t hungry, but as he took a bite of the meat he was given, he thought to himself that it never hurt to continue eating three meals as normal. It never caused him any issues to eat lunch when he didn’t feel hungry for it, so he’d go ahead and eat. He had to keep pretending to be completely human, anyways, and it tasted great!
Sky sat next to him and finished his food quickly, and once Danny was done as well, Sky smiled at him.”Sooo, mind telling me more about crows and ravens?” He asked.
Danny had almost forgotten about their brief conversation from earlier, but thinking back, Sky seemed very excited hearing that they could mimic human speech. He remembered the flock of crows back in Amity Park and smiled thinking about that first day he was approached by one.
“Yeah, I can tell you a few things.” He said. Sky shifted to make himself comfortable and leaned forward a little with a big grin on his face.”Like I said, they can mimic human speech. I think I actually have a video of one of them talking to me.” Danny said. He reached for his bag and unzipped it. Orbit looked up at him tiredly and Danny had to resist saying sorry as he reached inside and pulled out his phone. He closed his bag and began tapping the device.
Once he found the video, he moved his arm so he could show it to Sky and pressed play.
A crow stood on a wooden table, looking past the camera. It opened its beak and tilted its head upwards.
“Hey.” It said, mimicking a man’s voice.
“Hey.” Danny’s voice greeted back from behind the camera. His voice was loud compared to the bird.”What are you doing?” He asked. His voice gave away his joy and excitement as the crow took a step closer. He had almost laughed in the video.
The crow turned its attention to the camera and took a few steps closer and opened its beak as if to try to eat it. The camera was promptly pulled away.
Now the two could see a bit of Danny, mainly the back of his head and shoulder.
Danny lifted a finger and pointed it at the crow.”No, no eating my phone.” He said, as if he was scolding a child. The crow looked at his finger and tilted its head.
The crow simply stared at him for a while before opening its beak again.”What’s up?” It asked.
“Nothing. Just waiting on my friends. What’s up with you?” Danny responded. The crow hopped back, and a second later, it flew away. Danny turned and looked at the camera with a big smile as he brought it in front of him.”This has been happening for a while. I’m so glad I finally got in on camera, Sam’s gonna flip.” He said.
The video stopped there.
Danny turned to look at Sky and noticed something behind the both of them. He turned around to see Wild, Twilight, Legend, and Wind all staring at the video with them. Danny nearly jumped out of his seat. He hadn’t noticed them walk over, he was focused on the video and remembering the excitement he felt in that moment.
“That bird talked, right? You guys heard it too?” Twilight asked.
Wind and Wild nodded while Legend gave a surprised “Yeah”.
“Uh, yeah. There are quite a few birds that mimic speech. Crows, ravine, and several parrots. Parrots are actually well-known for having conversations with people.” Danny said.
Legend looked at Danny.“I’ve been through many adventures, and I’ve never met a single friendly crow or raven.” He said.
Danny furrowed his eyebrows. These dark feathered creatures weren’t exactly the friendliest, but they didn’t go around attacking unprovoked. They did, although, spread the news about mean or nice people, which was why he’d manage to get on the good side of an entire flock of crows.
“What did you do?” He asked.
“What do you mean? They came after me first!” Legend replied.
Wind leaned forward and Twilight adjusted his arms behind him a little. It was then that Danny realized Twilight was holding Wind on his back so he could see the screen of Danny’s phone.
“Maybe the ones in your world are the friendly ones.” Wind suggested.
Danny smirked.”Or maybe they just like me.” He said.
“Guess we’ll use you as a shield against the dark birds, then.” Legend said.
Danny snickered.
~~~~~(Short Time Skip)~~~~~
Not much else happened after lunch. The group just kept walking and walking until the sun was getting low and they stopped to set up camp. By then, Danny was fairly sore in his legs and abdomen. Not only that, but his binder was squeezing the hell out of him. His ribs have been hurting all day, and he’s been pretending not to be feeling out of breath for probably an hour.
Looking around at the others who were now starting to sit down and get comfortable, Danny realized he had an opportunity.
He picked up his bag and hurried away from the rest of the group. If anyone saw him, they didn’t ask, which he was grateful for. The sound of them talking and moving around slowly faded into the background, and when Danny turned around to find he could just barely see them, he decided this was as far as he was going to get without someone getting worried and coming to look for him.
He surveyed his surroundings. There was no one else around. No monsters, either. If he was going to get a break, now was a good time.
Danny set his bag down and began to remove the shield, sword, and armor, placing them on his bag instead of the ground. Once he finally stripped off his binder, he put the brown undershirt back on and sat down against a tree. He took a deep breath.
Ancients, it felt good not to have his ribs feel so constricted. Danny couldn’t wait to have his top surgery and finally be done with the binder. The skin above his ribs were littered with bruises, a consequence of his own actions by wearing it all day.
He looked over at his bag and reached a hand to unzip it.”You can come out if you want.” He said.
Orbit flew out of the bag quickly. They warbled and chirped happily as they flew around Danny, then the surrounding area. Danny smiled and watched as the wisp zoomed around.”Got tired of the bag? Sorry, buddy, but I still don’t know if these guys like ghosts or not.” He said. Despite being so close to them and the uncomfortable bark, Danny found himself relaxing.
The area was surprisingly peaceful. He hadn’t encountered any monsters since lunch. Still, he kept his eyes and ears open. Orbit seemed calm. Danny watched them fly into the forest and smiled a little.”Hey, stay where I can see you.” He called out in a whisper. He didn’t want to chance the others overhearing him. Danny could just barely hear the group, but he didn’t know if there was a difference in Hylian hearing and Human hearing.
He watched the area slowly grow darker and darker, waiting for Orbit to return. After what felt like half an hour, Orbit suddenly came barreling out of the forest, squeaking and chirping at Danny. It was a call to come closer.
Danny raised an eyebrow and stood up.”What is it?” He asked. He stalked closer to Orbit and looked past the wisp. He saw nothing, even as he looked closely at the foliage incase something was hiding.
Orbit warbled and flew deeper into the forest. Danny moved to follow, but stopped himself. He glanced over his shoulder. He couldn’t just walk away. The others would definitely notice his disappearance and possibly grow suspicious of him. What could he say? He’s been wary of everything, it’d seem odd if he just left.
No, he had to keep playing “cautious kid” until he either became good enough for them not to worry about him or he figured out how they’d react to him being half ghost.
Danny looked at Orbit.”No, this is far enough.” He said. Orbit turned around warbled, insisting that he should follow. It sounded important.”Is someone hurt?” He asked. Orbit shook his body side to side.”Then no.” Danny said, crossing his arms. Orbit squeaked and made a rumbling noise.
“Danny.” Time’s voice called out.
Danny’s heart nearly burst out of his chest as he whipped his head around. Time’s armor caught the remaining light and made him stand out in the dark a little bit as he walked closer to where Danny left his stuff. Danny wanted to turn around, but he stopped. He didn’t have his binder on, nor did he have a bra or even his jacket!
He felt Orbit’s tiny body press up against his midsection to try to hide and realized something even worse. What if Time saw Orbit?
“Sorry to cut your break short, but you need to put your binder and armor back on. Dinner’s ready and you’ll be sparring Legend after. After that, you’re free to head to bed.” Time said. He turned around and walked away.
Danny couldn’t help but feel a little surprised. That wasn’t what he was expecting.
He knew it was a little weird that he hadn’t been expecting them to bring up or even notice it. After all, he took the binder off when he slept, and slept close enough to the group for them to step in if a monster snuck up on him in his sleep. His jacket didn’t exactly make his upper chest invisible. They’ve technically seen him with his binder off, but still, it felt like Time knew something he shouldn’t. Then again, they probably all knew.
He stood there stunned for a little bit, watching Time walk away, before turning to look at Orbit.”Come on, we have to head back.” He said in a hushed tone.
Orbit warbled in protest, but Danny picked up his bag and held it open. Orbit’s eyes shifted and the sides of his body puffed up, as if pouting, before he reluctantly floated into the bag.“I’m sorry.” Danny said.
He turned and walked back to the group. Nothing eventful or big happened during dinner, but when sparring came around, Danny got his ass handed to him.
Legend wasn’t as kind as Twilight was that morning and went right for the attack.
Danny was almost a little overwhelmed between the dodging and blocking and fighting back, knowing that he couldn’t shift to ghost form or use his fists like he knows he could. It’d be more dangerous, but at least he had more experience that way. He kept trying to use the sword, and he was hoping he was getting a little better, but he could barely keep up.
In the end, Legend won. He also won the next two rounds, and Danny was left panting partially because of the binder.
Legend put his sword away.”Not bad for a second time. You need to work on your grip and your strikes, but other than that, you’re mediocre.” He said.
Danny almost laughed.”I’ve heard worse compliments.” He said. Legend didn’t smile.
After that, the others went to sleep and Danny was mostly left alone with Twilight being on watch. Danny used his bag as a pillow again, careful not to squish Orbit, and stared up at the stars. The only sounds were the fire, crickets, and the wind rustling the leaves. It was peaceful, and Danny had almost completely forgotten about his situation.
His gaze shifted all across the neighboring galaxy. It still left him almost breathless looking at it. It was beautiful. Looking at it felt like floating, and at the same time, like gravity was being extra strong in order to keep him against the ground. It made him feel both bigger and smaller, like he was too big for his own body. His body that he could forget he was even living in.
Stargazing made Danny’s chest both lighter and heavier, and it was one of the few things in this world that could actually chase away his racing thoughts and clear his mind, but that wonderful feeling was interrupted by the sound of something moving.
Danny quickly sat up and looked to his left. Twilight was also facing the noise. As Danny tried to listen for it again, he realized that the crickets had stopped chirping. Danny’s heart picked up in his chest. Something was nearby.
A moment later, there was the sound of movement again. It was a little farther, but still close enough to put him on edge. Twilight reached behind his back and slowly pulled out his sword.“I’ll be right back.” He whispered, not turning his head around. He rose up and stalked towards the bushes in the direction of the sound.
Once he was gone, Danny couldn’t tell if he felt more exposed or invisible. He moved his eyes away from where Twilight vanished into the forest to scan his surroundings. He searched anything he could see slowly and carefully.
Once, twice, three times.
After the fourth time, he was more confident in his surroundings, but Twilight still hadn’t come back. Danny forced himself to take a deep breath. Twilight was clearly experienced, and more familiar with this world’s flora and fauna. Besides, he had that wolf form. He’d be okay against monsters.
After the second breath, however, the secret anxious voice in the back of his head that he tried to ignore all day was proven right.
A familiar cold enveloped Danny’s body as a blue trail of fog or some kind of smoke left his mouth. For a split second, it felt as if all oxygen had left his lungs, leaving him breathless and freezing. Then the trail left his mouth completely, and just as suddenly as it came, the sensation went away.
The pit in his stomach didn’t, though.
Danny immediately stood up. He scanned the area around him again, then again.
When he picked up on Orbit’s frantic buzzing, he slowly crouched down and unzipped his backpack to let them out. The wisp refused to come out, though. Instead, they only moved to the edge and reached up with their tiny, stubby arms to grab onto Danny’s hand. They pulled on him, as if trying to pull him in, but Danny didn’t budge.
“What’s going on?” He asked in a hushed tone. He looked up to scan the area again. Then he saw it. And then he heard it.
A faint light blue, almost white light stood out against the darkness. Danny slowly pulled his hand away and stood straight. As the light swayed side to side and grew closer with the sound of jangling metal, the young Halfa realized that it was a flame inside a lantern, and carrying it was a ghost.
It had to be. Danny could just barely sense its core, but it was there. Plus, it floated through the trees as if they weren’t even there. The ghost’s hood concealed its face, aside from what looked like its bare lower jaw. Maybe it had a fire core.
There was something wrong. Really wrong.
A broken, sickly hiss escaped from its mouth. Upon hearing that hiss, the ectoplasm-blood mixture in Danny’s veins stopped.
He heard that noise before. When Frostbite was teaching him about different illnesses ghosts could have. After hearing about it, Danny hoped that he’d never have the misfortune of meeting a ghost with Poe Syndrome, but luck was hardly ever on his side.
His chest tightened up. The Poe hadn’t noticed him yet. He could grab his bag, take Orbit and his things and run. Poes were incredibly slow and often suffered sight problems, he’d outrun it in seconds. Screw the others looking for him.
He slowly crouched down, careful not to make noise, and reached for his bag. Then he paused and looked at the rest of the group. They were asleep. Twilight still wasn’t back. If he left now, they’d be defenseless.
Danny didn’t know yet if they had experience with ghosts, but he suddenly decided he wasn’t going to test it. He released his grip on the strap and grabbed the thermos, then stood up to glare at the Poe.
“Look, buddy, I’ll give you one chance to leave.” Danny said, keeping his voice down as to not disturb anyone.
The Poe snapped its head in his direction and let out a hungry growl. In a sudden burst of speed fueled by desperation, it charged towards him. Danny quickly transformed (without the pretty light show, which he’s been practicing) and lunged to the side. The Poe changed its direction and faced him, but didn’t charge again.
It looked down at his bag. It was still unzipped, with Orbit inside.
Danny flew towards it and swung his fist at its jaw before it could bend over and reach inside. The Poe flew back, almost stumbling onto Wind, but it righted itself and hissed.
“Quiet!” Danny whispered angrily.
The Poe charged towards him again with another hiss. Danny reached his arms out and grabbed the Poe, spun around, and threw it against a tree a little ways away from the group. He rushed forward and struck the Poe a second time in the chest, hard enough to make the tree shake a little, and waisted no time in hitting it again.
Poes were very weak compared to other ghosts, so the young halfa thought that after the third punch, it was safe to use the thermos. He jumped back and unhooked the thermos from his belt. He quickly lifted it up, pressed the button, and watched the Poe get sucked inside. Once it was in, he twisted it shut.
For a moment, Danny was worried that it wouldn’t work. Ghosts with Poe Syndrone had very little ectoplasm, and the thermos used ecto signatures to suck ghosts inside. In his mind, there was a chance that the Poe’s ecto signature wasn’t strong enough, but it looks like it was.
Thank the Ancients for that. Frostbite and Galeforce always said that death was the only way to deal with a ghost with Poe Syndrome, and it was actually a mercy given their state, but Danny didn’t think he could bring himself to kill someone.
He didn’t have time to celebrate, though. Something rustled in the bushes behind him and he quickly turned around. He didn’t see him, but Danny had a feeling of who it was and felt panic rise again in his chest. Twilight was coming back.
Danny quickly zoomed back to where he was sitting before and switched back to human form. He really hoped that Twilight didn’t see him transform, and was happy to see that no one seemed to have been woken up by his fight. He sat down in the same place he was sitting before, putting the thermos away, and looked up to the night sky to pretend he’d been stargazing the whole time.
When Twilight steps became closer and easier to hear, Danny turned his attention to him as if just noticing him.”You’re back already?” He asked.
Twilight put his sword away.”Yeah, just a couple wolves.” He said. He sat back down in the same spot as before and looked at Danny strangely. As if deciding if he should be worried or not.“Everything okay? You look a little shaken.” He asked.
Danny nodded.“Yeah, I’m good. I just… started wondering if I left the stove on at home and thinking my house was burned down.” He lied.
Twilight snickered.”Fair, I sometimes wonder that when I’m out here, too. I’m sure your house is okay.” He said.
“Thanks.” Danny said. He let his shoulders relax, not realizing they’d been squared up, and glanced over to his bag.”I’m heading to bed now. Goodnight, Twilight.” He said. He unzipped it and pulled out the bedroll. He moved to be a little further away from the others, but placed it close enough that Twilight or whoever else was on shift could get to him should the need arise.
Twilight didn’t comment on it and let him be. Danny fished his jacket from the bag, patting Orbot as he did, and began heading off to take his binder off.
“Wait, do you need a lantern?” Twilight piped up.
Danny lifted up the device from his jacket pocket.“I can use my phone, but thanks.” He said.
“Okay. Be careful.” Twilight said.
Danny nodded and turned on his flashlight to light his way. He was quick to remove his binder and the piece of armor, along with the over shirt, and put the jacket on and zip it up. He walked back to the camp without incident and waved to Twilight as he climbed into the blanket and bedroll.
It was nice. The fabric was soft, and it was warm in the way that it was just enough for one to feel comfortable. He reached back and pulled his backpack a little bit closer to just about rest his head on it. Then, he stared up at the stars until he could no longer keep his eyes open.
The next morning, Danny would act as normal. Well, the normal he has displayed for the group, but the truth was he didn’t sleep. He couldn’t. He stayed up all night thinking about the fact that if he wasn’t careful, he might end up with Poe Syndrome as well.
(Extra Notes: I don’t know why I struggled so much with the last few scenes, but I got through it! I did it! Honestly, I was considering just posting the rest of the chapter and do the rest later.)

Nine (or so) People You'd Like To Get To Know Better
I love tags games and it's goddamn tag game time again! Thanks to @jackdaw-sprite for tagging me in stuff for me to mess around with!
Rules: Answer the 4 questions and tag 9 people you'd like to know better.
Last Song: YouTube is playing in the background and this is what it played from my mix: For Honor by Peyton Parrish. I am so in love with his songs for real for real! Viking Metal my beloved.
Currently Watching: I'm not currently watching anything new BUT I am rewatching Buffy: the Vampire Slayer and Angel: the Series! I think I'm going to start watching Supernatural and/or Doctor Who again soon.
Currently Reading: Other than all the baller fanfic dropped during Invisobang? I'm not reading much original stories right now, between school, work, and fandom! But the last thing I read was Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao! And I will recommend it until my dying breath. Enjoy the summary!:
The boys of Huaxia dream of pairing up with girls to pilot Chrysalises, giant transforming robots that can battle the mecha aliens that lurk beyond the Great Wall. It doesn't matter that the girls often die from the mental strain.   When 18-year-old Zetian offers herself up as a concubine-pilot, it's to assassinate the ace male pilot responsible for her sister's death. But she gets her vengeance in a way nobody expected—she kills him through the psychic link between pilots and emerges from the cockpit unscathed. She is labeled an Iron Widow, a much-feared and much-silenced kind of female pilot who can sacrifice boys to power up Chrysalises instead.   To tame her unnerving yet invaluable mental strength, she is paired up with Li Shimin, the strongest and most controversial male pilot in Huaxia. But now that Zetian has had a taste of power, she will not cower so easily. She will miss no opportunity to leverage their combined might and infamy to survive attempt after attempt on her life, until she can figure out exactly why the pilot system works in its misogynist way—and stop more girls from being sacrificed.
Current Obsession: There's a few that I'm rotating between currently!
Peyton Parrish's music
Jonathan Young's music
Miracle of Sound's music
Buffy: the Vampire Slayer and Angel: the Series (specifically Wesley Wyndam-Pryce)
Danny Phantom, ofc
Ecto-Implosion!
Uhhhhh... do I even know 9 people? Let's check out what people I know well are doing! @probably-dead @hannahmanderr @the-oaken-muse @raders1001 @scarletsaphire @duchi-nesten @going-getting-got-ghost @half-deadmagicperson aaand @blobghost!

What the Workers See
I wanted to write Hyena!Danny at work as Hood's second in command.
Hyena!Danny Masterpost
tw: physical abuse
Jason had been delighted when Danny had presented him the ideas for his Hyena costume, helping him sort out the details and reminding him to add armour. Danny had argued he’d heal anyways so there wasn’t any point, and surely the armour would make it less sexy! Jason had just rolled his eyes and reminded Danny that he was trying to keep his powers secret, and if Nightwing could look like that in his heavily armoured suit Danny would be fine.
He had sighed and relented, asking for help to get some of the materials he would need, which Jason happily provided. Danny worked on it in their free time, and Jason watched with fascination as Danny’s nimble fingers and equally quick mind fingered out the construction and problem-solved any roadblocks. It was impressive, and when it got to the try on stage most of them ended with the suit on their bedroom floor by the end, Jason just loved it. He particularly loved the choice of the collar.
One rational corner of his mind mentioned he should probably talk to Danny about the power imbalance and the fact that Jason was definitely possessive and abusive. But the other half of his mind fucking purred at the sight of Danny in the collar and catsuit and that part won out, Jason didn’t mention it.
When it was finally time to unveil Hyena Jason called a meeting of all his goons. The ones that worked for him consistently, not the villain hoppers or the temp workers, they’d find out eventually. If he called everyone who worked for him sometimes he’d need a fucking football field, this would do. As he knew they would they all came, gathering and mingling in the warehouse in front of the makeshift stage.
Jason hopped up onto it about ten minutes after the time he’d told everyone to be there, once he was sure everyone who was coming was here, and Danny was here. “I know you’re all nervous about why the fuck I called you all here. First off let me assure you it’s nothing bad and not a fucking scheme. I have an important introduction and an announcement.” He said and made a hand signal.
Danny, the dramatic bastard that he was dropped down from the rafters and landed on overly light feed on the stage. He grinned behind his muzzle and made a little ‘tada!’ motion that made Hood role his eyes fondly.
“This is Hyena. He will be working with me from now on. If I am not here you take orders from him in my place, obey him like you would me.” He explained and Hyena gave a dramatic little bow and a cackling laugh. “Is that understood?”
“Yes Boss,” People chorused, looking a little nervous and curious about the new person still. Hyena would have to do some work earning their respect and trust but Jason knew that Danny was more then up for the task.
---------
As the fighting wound down Jason looked over the damage. It wasn't to bad, but it was so fucking unnecessary, there shouldn't have Been another gang trying to operate out of his territory, under his fucking nose! Did they really think he wouldn't notice? They should have just left when he confronted them, not actually initiated a fight! Now they had bodies to deal with, of those who didn't run, and a bunch of injured people.
A loud whistle made Jason jump slightly before he glanced over to Hyena, who was taking charge. He beckoned a couple field medics forward and cupped his hands around his muzzle to yell over the crowed.
"If You'd rather go to a real hospital clear out! you need stitches line up here, if you need a bone set, line up there," Hyena directed before glancing around as people straggled into lines. Not many left to go to a actual hospital, in Gotham people tended to be suspicious of doctors, and field medics got a Lot of practice.
"You two!" Danny pointed at two goons who jumped. "You're unhurt, I saw you hide when the fighting got bad. You carry anyone who can't wait in line to the front for emergency care, then we'll talk about reassigning you."
Jason hadn't noticed that, but he was usually too caught up in the fight once blood started to spill so that wasn't Overly surprising. He was grateful Danny had.
The two singled out looked sheepish and started to obey Danny's commands, checking on those on the ground and either dragging the dead to one side or carrying the living over to Hyena and the other medics. Danny grabbed one of the first aid kits the medics had brought in, ignoring their disproving look, it faded quickly as Hyena started efficiently, and correctly tending to those who needed stitches.
Jason wasn't surprised, Danny had stitched Jason up more then once and he had always done a damn good job. Jason loved seeing Danny liked this, in his element, taking charge and taking care of people. It reminded Jason how much he loved Danny, and it was hot as hell.
Jason approached Danny, who glanced up at Jason from the wound he was cleaning on a goons arm who was looking away from the blood looking a little green. "Hey Boo, are you hurt?" Danny asked. Jason could hear in his voice that he was smiling even though his muzzle his it.
"No, I'm perfectly fine," Jason assured, he was bruised but he wasn't bleeding anywhere and he could move all of his extremities.
"Good, I'm glad you're okay. Now make yourself useful and go grab some more clean water," Danny directed him, focusing back on his work.
Jason laughed, if anyone else talked to him like that he'd probably blow a gasket, but Danny was allowed. Jason looped an arm around Danny's waist and leaned his forehead against the top of the other man's head for just a moment, wishing their masks weren't in the way so he could kiss Danny. Jason let go again almost immediately before Danny could start fussing at him for being in the way.
"You got it Cub," Jason assured fondly, striding off to make himself useful as well.
--------
Unfortunately not every fight went well. They couldn’t win everything, and sometimes the people Hood was after got away. It was another fight, fucking Black Mask had tried to move in on Hood’s territory! Unusual for the cowardly little weasel, he had decided to come himself and join in the fight.
It was absolutely the perfect opportunity to kill the creep once and for all! And maybe Hood was a little too fixated on that, because he was on a fucking one frack mind trying to get to Mask. Hyena was covering his back, and giving orders while he wasn’t paying attention to what was going on, compensating for his tunnel vision though he didn’t notice that.
What he certainly did notice was when Hyena yanked him back. Mask had called a retreat and was on his way out. Hood had been about to give chance into what was definitely a trap, or at the very least a bad idea to abandon his people and run into a gang of… however many people Mask had left, Jason had not been counting.
It wasn’t a smart thing to do to follow Mask, but that didn’t mean that Jason was fucking okay with Danny manhandling him! He was furious, he was consumed by green blood lust and obsession, and he absolutely would not see reason.
Hyena was trying to say something but Jason didn’t hear what it was past the blood rushing in his ears. He swung around and struck Hyena hard sending him stumbling back, Jason could see a little blood from where the metal of the muzzle had cut Danny’s cheek under the force of Jason’s blow.
“Hood,” Hyena pleaded, holding out his hands towards Jason. “Listen, you can’t-”
“Don’t tell me what I can’t do,” Jason snarled, advancing on Danny again, though at least he wasn’t still trying to follow Black Mask anymore. Danny didn’t shield his body when Jason punched him in the stomach clinging to his arm instead, forcing him to stay close and to pause.
“We’re in public, people are watching,” Danny wheezed, big blue eyes fixed on Jason’s face. He recoiled when he saw tears gathering at the corners, Danny had never looked so… genuinely hurt when Jason had hit him before. But then again, he’s always done it in private before.
Shit! They weren’t in private!
Jason looked up and around them, at his people watching them with horror and shock. He saw judgment, anger and disgust there too and shame joined the uncomfortable roiling of emotion in his gut. “We’ll deal with your anger when we get home,” Danny said softly, letting go of Jason’s arm and resting his hands either side of Jason’s helmet instead, making him look back at Danny, focus on him. “I can handle this if you need to go calm down.”
“No, I’ll be fine,” Hood said, gently brushing his fingers over the bruise on Danny’s cheek. It wasn’t healing, he didn’t know why. Could Danny… stop himself from healing? Did he have that much control?
“Good,” Danny said, leaning in to Jason’s touch. “I’ll be fine. Let’s get this over with.”
Jason nodded and the two of them separated and took control of the situation again, Danny starting to give orders regarding medical care as always, and Jason starting to direct repairs, and plans for retaliation against Mask.
Most of his goons seemed to snap out of their shock and start following orders on instinct, though Jason couldn’t help notice the worried looks that were being directed at Danny in particular. And it seemed Danny did too and was getting sick of it.
With everyone either treated or being treated he hopped up on a random crate and glared over the room with narrowed eyes. “Of anyone has something to say then fucking say it!” He demanded in an angry hiss that still carried throughout the room.
When nervous looks were shot Hood’s way he shrugged, spread his hands, and then gestured back at Hyena. Red Hood wasn’t going to interfere, so answer Hyena’s question.
After a awkward moment one brave soul seemed to appoint themselves the spokesperson and shuffled forward, Danny’s eyes fixed on them, raising an eyebrow.
“We’re just worried I guess? We all know the two of yous are together, and you know it’s not right for him to hit you right? We all saw the way that Harley was treated and I know you two-”
“We’re nothing like them,” Hyena cut in scowling. “And our relationship is none of your business. If I wanted to stop him I could, we do things the way that works for us. It’s not your place to question it, and I don’t want any of you fucking worrying about me. God forbid if I ever catch anyone pitying me I’ll show them exactly how big of a mistake they’re making.
“And don’t you fucking judge Hood either. I told him he could do that. I started it. You should mind your own business,” He practically snarled. He hopped down from his makeshift soapbox and stalked passed all the goons without looking at them. “Let’s go home,” he said, grabbing Jason’s hand and leading him away.
Jason was so grateful to Danny for defending him, and he had a feeling he owed his boyfriend some flowers and a very nice dinner for putting him in a position where he had to.

The Folly of Men -
Chapter 2: #78866B
AO3 - MASTERPOST
[GENERAL TW: Swearing, lukewarm violence, lots of POV changes, and mild body horror.]
[I sacrificed Damian's POV for more time of Jazz, and everything jumps around a little, but I refuse to feel regret. Notes on the timeline are at the bottom.]
-
Two hours went by way faster than Jazz thought. Between gathering the emergency bags, counting cash, and raiding the lab, she barely managed to herd her parents out the front door on time. Luckily, the two doctors didn't put up a fight, so she still had ten minutes to lock up. Like she said, Jazz hadn't touched the portal besides locking it down. The portal's power supply had been re-routed to an emergency shield, blocking anything from getting in or out. As long as it was still on, that shield would hold.
Jazz blew a strand of hair out of her face as she sat on the front porch for a moment. The door was locked, she had everything, and her parents were waiting like scared kids for her a few feet away. All she had to do was arm the security system using the bug Tucker had sent her. It was relatively easy; she had to take off the casing to the alarm next to their doorbell and use a connector to plug her phone in. It took her a moment, admittedly. It wasn't easy to mash tiny buttons when her hands shook with adrenaline.
While she waited for the virus to load, Jazz glanced at her parents, watching them. They looked lost. A little guilty, perhaps? They both looked gaunt and had unshed tears in their eyes, looking positively miserable for all the world to see. They hadn't said a peep after she had stormed off. Not even when she came back to clamp 'Shade Shackles' onto their wrists, hissing something to them about behaving. The shackles were heavy and bulky, restricting them from their wrists to their elbows and locking their arms together.
The shackles wouldn't hold Jack for long, she knew. Not if he was actually trying to escape. But honestly, the man was probably worse off than his wife. He just kept staring into space, dissociating.
Jazz thought they deserved it. After a few more seconds of fiddling, her phone finally beeped, indicating the upload was complete. She unplugged her phone, packed the cord into one of her bags, and stood again to close the alarm casing. Shutters slammed shut over every entrance into Fentonworks. Maddie flinched at the loud noise.
"And now," Jazz muttered, picking up her bat. "We can't go back." The redhead swung like a professional, slamming her weapon into the alarm, setting it off like a loud pig. She took her anger out on the plastic, smashing the buttons and hardware to bits, sending wires flying. Even the brick beneath the alarm was chipped in many places. Well, if there was one thing her parents did right, it was make a decent bat. The creep stick didn't have a scratch when she finally stepped back.
Wiping sweat from her brow, Jazz took in her handiwork. Getting some extra aggression out of her system slightly cleared her head, and she smiled at the ruined building. The alarm was going off at max volume, and some of the floodlights her parents had installed a few years ago lit up the whole neighborhood with flashing red. If the Fentons hadn't had people’s attention before, they sure as hell did now.
"What'd you do that for?" Maddie said, horrified. Guess she was breaking her silence.
Jazz scoffed, turning to pick her bags up and sling them over one shoulder. "Because while I'd love to burn this place to the fucking ground-"
"You can't!"
"Shut up. It's not up to you, Maddie." Jazz spat. "And it's not up to me. Danny gets to decide what happens to Fentonworks. Whether you like it or not, this is his final resting place. I'm not going to rob him of closure."
Maddie snapped her mouth shut.
"Final resting place?" Jack finally returned to himself as he cried at his daughter's words. Thick tears dripped down his face. Jazz had never seen her father so distraught, not even when Vlad moved away to Europe last year. He looked heartbroken.
Jazz sneered, poking her father in the chest with her bat. "You heard me. That fucking portal, your goddamn pride and joy, is what got Danny killed in the first place. That lab is where he died in front of his friends because you two are idiots who refuse to follow any sort of rule."
"No, that's not-"
"Not what?" Jazz rounded on her mother, who shrunk back in the face of her fury. "Not right? That's not what happened? Is that what you were going to say?"
They were attracting a crowd. People were being drawn out of their houses by the alarms and shouting, staring at the two Fenton parents with mild distaste. Everyone knew their children put up with a lot, even if the doctors were well-meaning. Did they finally cross the line?
"It was hard for us too!" Maddie insisted. "All those late nights, his avoidance of us, how he looked at us! It was horrible."
"THAT'S BECAUSE YOU KILLED HIM!" Jazz roared. She was as red as her hair now, and the little ectoplasm that ran in her veins made the edges of her form blurry. As if she was a heat mirage. "YOU KILLED HIM, AND NOW YOU'RE KILLING HIM AGAIN BY HANDING HIM TO THE GHOST INVESTIGATION WARD!"
"Th-they just wanted to study him," Jack sobbed. "T-to avoid and prevent any ghost disease breakouts."
"BULLSHIT!" Her voice echoed down the street. It boomed unnaturally, drowning out the sound of sirens that were a few blocks away. A few neighbors were going pale as they realized the severity of the situation. "You two are doctors! You know how science works! You two built and sold weapons to them! Don't pretend to be ignorant and blame it on the fucking ghost flu."
"You disgust me," Jazz continued. She descended the steps and shoved past her parents. Maddie landed on the ground with an oof! "I hope I never have to see you two ever again." She adjusted her bags and started marching toward Nasty Burger, cutting through the crowd like she was fucking Moses. The police were a block away now. She didn't want to be there when they got to the house.
"Where are you going?" Her mother called. Pleaded, really. "We can talk this out!"
Jazz ignored her calls and walked on. When they spotted the murderous look in her eyes, everyone on the sidewalks quickly got out of her way. She had two minutes now, but the others probably wouldn't mind her tardiness. Her phone buzzed, and she snapped it open.
From: TheFuck
4:12pm yo ms evie just blasted ur rant 2 myspace and yt
4:13pm for an old lady she sure has quick fingers
4:13pm dani just showed up at nb we just waitin on u
Rather than replying, Jazz pushed the door to Nasty Burger open and beelined towards the trio's usual table. Tucker was glued to his phone while Sam and Dani mumbled, pouring over several sheets of paper. She tapped Tucker on the head, making him jump.
"I'm already here."
Tucker spun around. "Nocturn's starry underwear, Jazz!" He whined. "You could have just texted me!"
"Didn't feel like it," she shrugged, suddenly feeling very tired. The restaurant was mostly empty, so she threw her stuff into the booth beside them and slid in next to Tucker. The Fenton creep-stick was rested against the edge of the table, acting as a warning. The others had already set aside their bags and weapons in the other booth. Not a single Nasty Burger employee came over to tell them they couldn't have swords at the table, so Jazz didn't bother thinking about it.
Danielle, her free-spirited youngest sister, glanced up at her with a weary smile. She looked rough. The wind had tangled her shorter hair, and her clothes seemed horribly displaced and damp. (She'd passed through a tropical storm half an hour ago.) Dani was swaying where she sat, desperately trying to stay engaged with Sam even though exhaustion was no doubt clawing at her mind.
Jazz felt her mood soften. Sometimes, she had to remind herself that Dani was only a few years old by human and ghost standards. While Danny was also a baby ghost, he had a lot more stamina as a human to make up for it. Flying from New Zealand had taken its toll on the girl.
"Here, Danielle, switch me." Jazz stepped out of the booth, guiding her little sister to sit next to Tucker, who wouldn't mind if the girl fell asleep on his shoulder. Dani didn't protest and conked out almost immediately, soft snores being the only indication she was alive. Sam nodded her greeting and shuffled some papers Jazz's way.
"Here's everything so far," she stated. "We're doing this on paper until Tucker can set up a server."
Jazz flipped through the pages. Each one had a little tab in the corner sticking out so things wouldn't get mixed up. The pages were even color coordinated, just how she liked it. She scanned through sheets of numbers, reports on agent activity, stolen research, manufacturing contracts, and so on. Everything she saw was dated back at least a year, and Sam had taken the time to highlight the discrepancies between all the paperwork. It was the very definition of thorough.
Time for business, I guess, she thought. "To start with, how's the town?"
Tucker got right into it. He turned his PDA around to show her the screen. A tiny map of the town was displayed, with red dots pinned to random spots. "All the monoliths Danny set up are primed and ready. They'll tap into the ley lines in the area to power the ghost shield we set up. I'll set it off when we leave the city borders."
"I called Cujo and Wulf," Sam added. She had a paper version of the town map with more random spots marked in green. "They are rounding up the ghost animals, and I got Grandma Ida to scare a few more human ones into helping. Some of the A-listers are doing a sweep to drive out anyone who stays behind."
"What about the GIW equipment?"
"Dash is getting his football and baseball teams together. Wes is going to load them with a virus before they smash it all to bits."
"Teenage boys are always destructive no matter the species." Jazz remarked dryly. Sam gave her a Look, but she ignored it. Yeah, she was being hypocritical. Who cared? "How's the tracking going?"
Tucker patted the sleeping Danielle on her head. "Thanks to a little miss, I got a lock on his ecto-signature much faster this time. But his aura is big, and we'll still need to raid at least four locations before I can pinpoint him."
Jazz sighed in relief, tilting her head back. Everything was falling into place, and soon, Danny would be safe by her side.
-
Danny woke up with a knife in his chest.
He choked, breathing in the air for the first time in a while. He couldn't feel a heartbeat, but the knife was too close to his core. It was too close to his fractured core. The weapon twisted, digging itself deeper, and he screamed silently in fear. His limbs spasmed, knocking into whoever was standing over him and throwing them across the room with a thud.
Free of the pressing weight, Danny rolled to the side, dropping to the floor and scrabbling at the knife still in his chest. Fabric was tangled with his legs, making it difficult to stand. Had he been placed in a bed? He jerked the knife out, letting it clatter to the ground.
Danny keened as precious ectoplasm leaked from his chest. From his core. Flaps of skin that hadn't healed yet tore back open, ripping fresh scabs and making him lightheaded. Half-formed organs were trying to slip free of his body, and he could barely scoop them back in. His fingers felt thick, and the task seemed endless. What if his core slipped out? How would he know? Could he catch it?
Was this how Dani felt when she was melting? He briefly wondered. A sob tore its way out of his throat. God, everything hurt so much. He tried to inhale, to breathe through the panic attack, but his lungs were either shriveled from disuse or missing. He couldn't breathe. Oh god, he couldn't breathe. The fabric felt like shackles against his legs, stiffing and trapping him further as ice crept through the room. He couldn't feel his lungs, he couldn't feel his heart, he couldn't feel his core. His core was here; he knew it. Where was it? Where was his soul?
Danny curled in on himself, letting go of his skin in favor of shoving a hand into his chest, searching for his tiny core amongst all the ectoplasm and body parts. It was like trying to find a ping pong ball in a pool of Oobleck. The base of his head felt heavy, and he just wanted to cry even more than he already was.
where is it where is it where is it
His body shuddered as Danny started folding in on himself. The heavy feeling got worse. Bones slipped from his joints and pressed oddly against his skin, making it poke out in strange positions. He screwed his eyes further shut as he kept reaching past his ribs. His fingers were ice cold and sent shocks up his spine, making him spasm again. Flimsy organs were slipping past his arm; he tried not to pierce them as they landed back onto the floor with an ugly splat.
Danny kept crying, even as he felt the tips of his fingers finally brush his core. It was ice cold, colder than his skin. He could feel a deep crack in the surface, and he mourned for himself as he pulled his arm back out of his body. He wanted to scream so bad. To yell. To wail. To call for his family and friends and heal in his haunt surrounded by love.
But he didn't have any of that right now. His parents had given him away to the GIW, saying he just needed help, that he just needed to be fixed. That he needed healing. His haunt wasn't safe anymore, and Sam and Tucker had to stay behind to protect the other ghosts. Jazz wasn't even home the last time he checked. And now he was somewhere new, having a meltdown as he lost more blood than he cared to think about. He felt so goopy.
Danny's ears twitched as footsteps rushed towards his room. Was he underground? Everything was echoing. The person he'd tossed sat patiently against the far wall, probably staring at the mess he'd made. He was still whining in a high-pitched kind of way, which was his version of a ghost sob. The door burst open, making him flinch, but he was too weak to defend himself with ice. Danny could only lay there and try to pull himself back together.
-
"The boy is awake."
One of Ra's messengers bowed deeply to him, eyes cast to the floor. The papers he'd been going over were forgotten as he shoved them aside and focused on the messenger.
"I heard he was not due to wake until his organs regrew." Ra's commented lightly.
The messenger's frame tightened up a fraction. "The Demon's Thumb has returned," they intoned. "And has decided to greet the new Demon's Heir."
Ra's hummed, standing up. "I suppose I should have expected this. News does travel quite fast these days." He gestured for the messenger to lead the way, and they stood to do so. The walk from his main office to the medical wing was short as more of his retainers gathered around him. Dr. Vanessa, a thin woman with a vicious fire in her eyes, rushed to join his little circle as they passed the research hall.
"I apologize, sir." She seemed harried, if not a little ticked off. "My calculations must have been off. I-"
"It was not your fault, doctor." Ra's cut her off. "My granddaughter seems to have stopped by for a visit and wanted to pay her respects to the new heir, it seems."
"Ah." Dr. Vanessa's anger at herself vanished, and her face was carefully blank. "In that case, I shall adjust the boy's treatment plan accordingly."
They said nothing else as they approached the boy's room, admittedly at a quick pace. The bind around Ra's heart was urging him forward, to be faster and be by the boy's side when he awoke. The mere knowledge that the boy was in danger made his blood boil as his body revolted against this mind. By the heavens, he couldn't wait for this contract to be fulfilled. He hated magic so much.
Turning the final corner, a loud, keening cry assaulted everyone's ears. Dr. Vanessa flinched. A few guards pulled out their weapons, adopting a more defensive position. Ra's could barely stop himself from rushing through the group during the last few steps. He grits his teeth as another opens the door.
They were treated to the sight of a frost-covered room. The boy was on the floor, tangled in his blankets as he tried to shove unfinished organs, which was a gaping hole that led to nothing. Lazarus water was leaking from his body in copious amounts. His skin was practically translucent, and Ra's could spy his bones shifting unnaturally underneath it all, creating strange angles and planes that did not belong to a human. The boy's eyes were screwed shut, and he was crying even more Lazarus water, but Ra's would bet that his eyes were glowing that same bright green. The keening noise seemed to be coming from him, even though his mouth was shut tight.
Ra's glanced around again. A knife was on the floor next to the boy's head, covered in his blood. Mara al Ghul, his granddaughter and leader of the Demon's Fist, was sitting against the far wall with thick sheets of ice covering her from the neck down, trapping her in place. She was still wearing her mask, so Ra's couldn't see her face, but he knew she wasn't happy. Foolish girl.
Dr. Vanessa glanced at him. "May I approach the patient?" She asked. Ra's nodded his approval, and she cautiously stepped forward, trying to avoid the puddles of bodily fluids.
The doctor knelt, and she adopted a soft look to soothe the boy. "Hello, young man." Her voice dripped with honey. She reached out to tap the boy on his shoulder. "My name is Dr. Vanessa, and I'm-" She got cut off as soon as she made contact. A flash of light blinded everyone, and suddenly, Vanessa was encased with ice. She was essentially a statue now, still with a sweet look on her face.
Interesting. Ra's thought. One of his attendants moved the frozen doctor out of the way so he could walk forward, stopping right at the edge of the Lazarus water.
"Boy," he ordered. "Listen."
The boy's cry petered off at the sound of a human voice and he cracked his eyes open, staring straight at Ra's unblinkingly. He warbled something in a language that grated on everyone's minds. Ra's understood him, though, and switched tongues as easily as he would clothes.
"Boy," he repeated. His voice cracked, and Ra's could feel his granddaughter's burning questions engraved into his back. No one had heard him speak like this before. However, the boy finally opened both eyes wide, which he counted as a win. His interest was piqued. "Boy, listen to me."
The boy's mouth didn't move as he replied, "Hurts..."
"I know. But you are hurting others, and hurting yourself. Let us help."
The boy shivered. "Hurts. Can't. Pain."
"My people will not harm you," Ra's promised. The weight of the promise hung in the air like a bird, and the boy's eyes widened. Making promises in the tongue of the dead was a serious thing. "Calm yourself, and let us help you into bed. You are losing lifeblood. We cannot help if you freeze my people."
A humorless laugh was his reply. "Already dead." The boy informed him. "Almost dead again. It hurts. Please?"
Ra's motioned for the assassins to pick the boy up. He squeezed his eyes shut as hands touched his body but relaxed as one of them handed him his liver like it was a stuffed toy. The ice in the room started melting, releasing the two ladies from their bonds. The attending nurse quickly got to work collecting all the extra things that had fallen out of his body and placing them gently back inside the boy's gaping chest like he was playing Operation.
Once he was situated with all his goopy organs back in his body, the boy tried apologizing to Mara and Vanessa. "Sorry for the cold." He rasped.
Mara glanced at her grandfather, who didn't bother to translate. "I will be informing Mother Soul of this development," she said stiffly before turning and marching out of the room, two assassins at her heel. Dr. Vanessa was likewise escorted out to be taken care of.
Ra's stepped closer to the boy's bed. He didn't pay any mind to the blood, Lazarus goop, and now melting ice that stained his robes; they could be replaced. But he needed answers. He needed to figure out how to get out of this deal with the Gardener. And he needed to know how much power one child could offer him.
"Child." The boy looked lazily up at him. The effort of being awake was taking its toll. "I am Ra's al Ghul, the leader here. May I have your name?"
"Mmm." Some of the boy's bones shifted as he wiggled around, trying to relieve the weird pressure pressing against his skin. Ra's reckoned his whole skeleton might be out of place. "Call me Phantom," he eventually hummed.
Ra's knew that wasn't the boy's true name, but he'd work with it for now. He simply inclined his head in acknowledgment, watching as Phantom started nodding back off to sleep. Oh dear. He couldn't let him rest yet; Ra's needed answers.
"Do you know why you are here, Phantom?"
The boy licked his cracked lips, but still couldn't use his voice. His words were just echoing into the air like he was projecting his thoughts for everyone to hear. "No..."
"You were given to me. By a being who called themselves the Gardener. I am to take care of you."
"In exchange for what?" Phantom was struggling to stay awake. But he instantly caught onto the double meaning, which proved he had a brain somewhere.
Ra's considered his words. "Power," he said simply. "I care for you as if you were my own, and in exchange, you would be the key to granting unimaginable power and knowledge."
Phantom wrinkled his nose but seemed to accept that answer. "Undergrowth is so shady sometimes. But I'll acknowledge the deal between you two. Let me take a quick nap, and then you can let me know what you need..." He trailed off as sleep finally claimed him.
The Demon's Head wasn't pleased that the conversation was cut short, but the bind around his heart had loosened its noose, and he felt it was unavoidable. Now that his foolish granddaughter was out of the way, he would leave and return later. Phantom, while boyish in nature, seemed quite mature once he was lucid enough to talk. Perhaps Ra's wouldn't regret making him the Heir.

Jazz was getting antsy. It had been weeks, and they still hadn't found Danny. Raiding GIW bases with just the four of them took a toll on the group, especially since they kept losing supplies (like her beloved creep-stick, RIP). A few times, Danielle had to fly off and keep the peace in other cities, as the ghosts were finding different ways into the mortal realm now that Amity was shut off from the world. She'd taken up Danny's name as Phantom and was exhausted from flying across the country constantly. So, really, it was mostly the three of them.
Luckily, Kitty and Johnny showed up recently, and Dani got them to spread the word about Danny's disappearance and the group's country-wide manhunt. No ghosts had shown up since then.
"We're here," Tucker snapped her out of her thoughts, pulling her to an instant stop. This was one of the four bases Tucker had narrowed their search to. They'd destroyed the other three, gathering evidence and doing what was necessary to defeat the agents inside. And now they were standing in front of the final one, deep inside Yellowstone National Park. It looked like a rest stop with a bathroom, but Jazz knew that the compound was actually underground and most likely ten times the size of the shack.
Sam wrinkled her nose. "This place looks abandoned," She noticed. "At least the others had a front going on. I don't want to ride in a dirty bathroom that's really an elevator. I'd rather go back and fight those creepy clown performers from the pizza place."
"I can just phase us down." Danielle offered.
Jazz shook her head. "Nah, you need to save your energy, kiddo. Who knows how deep this one is."
Tucker crouched, fiddling with his PDA. "This spot does have a front," he told Sam. "It's a rare geocache spot. The only hint for it online that I can find is a shitty riddle that was posted, like, last week."
"Oh, what is it?"
"Uh, here. It says:
Below the keep, just six feet deep, lays a weathered path, born from wrath. A white beast rests, who troubles his guests, so find the key, and beware the banshee."
Danielle snorted. "You're right. That riddle sucks. Who wrote that? Skulker?"
Jazz smiled but considered the words seriously. "I mean, it seems pretty literal if you know the context behind it. Why not search for the cache and see if it has a key?"
"Good idea."
With that plan in mind, the four split up to scan the terrain. None of them had ever been geocaching before, but it was a popular tourist activity around Amity. It shouldn't be that hard, could it?
The answer was yes, it was. The group searched for an hour before Tucker finally gave in and sat on a log to take a break. The log promptly crumbled in half, and Tucker shouted in surprise as he landed ass-first on a hard tackle box.
"Oh, come on!" He groaned. "This log isn't even made of plastic! It's cardboard! Who makes a geocache out of cardboard?? It literally rained last night, my ass is wet now!"
Danielle giggled for the first time in weeks. Jazz ruffled her hair, earning a swat of protest, and then walked over to help Tucker to his feet. Sam swooped in to claim the first dibs on the box as soon as he was clear.
The lock was no issue for her as she simply bashed it open with a sharp rock. Sam seemed eager to find more clues and crowed triumphantly when she dug out a key card still attached to a GIW lanyard. "Fucking finally!"
"Good job, Sam." The four gathered around the tackle box. The card seemed legit, right down to the near-invisible security numbers engraved on the back. Their enhanced eyesight allowed them to spot that detail, which was a blessing when sniffing out fake leads.
Dani shot up excitedly. The fact that they were so close to finding Danny renewed the spark in her eyes. "I'll go look for the entrance!" She sped off, turning invisible to avoid any inside cameras. She found it within minutes, and returned to share the good news.
It was, indeed, in the tiny bathroom.
Sam groaned. "I need to learn to keep my mouth shut."
"I'm fine with that, honestly. You loud-mouthed mother-OW!" Tucker stumbled through the doorway to the bathroom, too slow to avoid the whack Sam had given him.
"That's 'loud-mouthed BITCH' to you," she scolded playfully.
The eldest shook her head and ignored them. The bathroom truly was tiny, and hadn't seen the loving touch of a mop in years. Spiders were making webs in the corners and Jazz was pretty sure something had been using the toilet as a litter box. It looked awful and smelled even worse. A smug look from Danielle told her that the girl had simply stopped breathing, and therefore didn't have to deal with the scent of actual bear shit.
She ignored Danielle, too. Jazz could feel her little sister's smugness radiating as they searched everywhere for the secret card scanner. Jazz couldn't stop her organs at will yet, and the twins always took full advantage of that to mess with her. They eventually figured out that the empty soap dispenser was what they were looking for, and the scanner beeped when they swiped the card. The whole room started to shake as they moved down.
Sam and Tucker stopped their petty back-and-forth as they heard the grinding of the elevator cable. "When was the last time this was used?" Tucker sounded alarmed.
"Probably when they built it." Sam grimaced at the sight of the dirty toilet water moving and pointedly moved to stare at the wall. "I want to set myself on fire right now. This is so gross."
"I'll hand you the match."
"I will douse you in gasoline, Tucker."
"Not the time, guys!" Jazz glanced at the ceiling, where she imagined the cable would connect. It squealed and screeched, but eventually, the world's worst elevator trip came to an end, and the one wall with nothing attached to it split open to reveal the pristine tunnel of a GIW facility. All four of them bolted for the hallway, and not just because they were eager to start trashing the place.
"Danny better fucking be here because I do not want to ride that thing ever again." Gasping, Sam rested her arms on her legs, breathing in stale, underground air. At least it didn't stink.
Danielle giggled again (that was twice now!!) and changed forms. "I'll go scout ahead," she informed them. Jazz bid her good luck before she faded from visibility. She wasn't too worried about the girl. Dani had her radio and knew to avoid GIW sensors as a ghost.
Tucker lay on the ground, staring into nothing while they waited. "My ass is still wet," he commented after a few moments of silence.
"No one needs to know that, Tucker."
"Too bad. I might get a rash from this. Did you know I ran out of underwear last week? I'm on my last pair, and now I'm gonna get a fucking diaper rash from them."
Sam gagged. "That's disgusting. Don't tell me this shit. I'm cursing your bloodline just for that."
"You gotta tell me these things," Jazz chided. "I would have gotten you a new set."
Tucker waved his arm in a 'whatever' motion. "Eh, honestly, it isn't that bad right now. I've done worse. Danny and I once tried to see how long we could go without showering or changing in middle school. I went two weeks before my parents hog-tied me and hosed me down in the front yard. Danny managed to go a full month before you did the same."
Realization struck Jazz and her eyes widened. "That's what that was about? Oh my god, he was yowling like a cat when I caught him, and it took three rounds of shampoo just to wash his hair! He's never forgiven me for it!"
"Sounds about right." Tucker shrugged. "I promised him a ticket to the observatory if he won, but you caught him the day of the showing, and he missed it."
"Why don't I remember this?" Sam demanded.
"It was right before y'all moved to town. It's the incident that caused the 'Fenturd' nickname."
Jazz put her head in her hands and groaned. Sometimes, she really wanted to smack her brother.
Danielle popped back into existence, making all three of them jump. Her mood had drastically changed, and she seemed really uncomfortable. "As interesting as that story is, and I definitely want to hear about it later," she said nervously. "This whole place has already been raided. There's no one here except a couple of soulless bodies. And an open portal. Someone was here before us."
All three shot up. "Lead the way," Jazz demanded. Everyone ran down the still-pristine hallway. Barely any dust had settled, and none of them smelled blood. Who had gotten here first?
They slid to a stop before a big metal door. Dani ducked through it to open it from the other side, and everyone was assaulted with the smell of rotting bodies and days-old blood as soon as it started moving. The door was literally so thick it had trapped everything inside. Including some agents, it seemed. A few bodies were pressed against the door and fell toward them when it opened. Tucker screeched and jumped back.
Sam, a true crime girlie at heart, crouched to examine the closest one. "Their fingers are worn through, almost to the bone," she noticed. "I bet if we closed the door again, we'd find scratch marks."
Dani floated above the corpses. "Yeah, it looks like something cut off all the exits and hunted them one by one."
"But what killed them?"
Sam toed a body until it flipped over. The eyes of the agent had been ripped from their skull, and frostbite warped their skin so bad she couldn't tell what their original features were. Danielle floated closer to Jazz, looking highly uncomfortable. "Danny's ecto is all over the place," she whispered. "He was definitely here."
"Right." Jazz hardened her heart. She was here to find her brother, not feel sorry for brutally mutilated government agents. "Let's get going. Stick to the battle buddy system, and keep your comms on."
They proceeded cautiously, only touching a body if it blocked their path or to find a key card. Tucker remarked that if this was a horror game, he probably would have played it, but living it was so much worse. Every single corpse had its eyes removed, and it was starting to wear on Jazz's mind. Dani mentioned their souls were gone, too.
Eventually, after some detours and backtracking, they reached the labs where Danny would have been held. Rage filled Jazz's chest as she saw ectoplasm mixed in with the bloodstains. A table had been set up to restrain a ghost with specialized handcuffs that had FENTONWORKS printed across them in bright green letters. Shattered glass was scattered across the floor and a few organs were decaying quite rapidly. A scientist was slumped across the table, a small knife still in hand. Jazz kicked the corpse.
Without Danielle telling her, she could feel it. This is where Danny had been tortured. Probably vivisected, too. Those were his organs that were rotting on the floor. His blood stains the ceiling. She was seeing red. She wanted to scream. Her baby brother had been tortured by these horrible people, and she didn't even get to kill them??
Danielle tugged on her arm, quietly bringing her back to herself. "The portal," she reminded Jazz. "It's in the next room."
"Sam, Tucker, see what you can recover from in here." Jazz gritted her teeth and let Dani guide her away from that room. "Dani's gonna show me the portal. Scream if you need us."
"Be careful!" Sam called back.
They left the room, going two doors down to what looked like a near-perfect copy of the Fenton's lab. She stiffened as she spied the portal. It wasn't set into the wall like the original but rather floated a few feet in the air in front of it. It looked like a tear in reality, similar to something Wulf could make, but on a much larger scale. She felt dwarfed by it, and dreaded to think about what could come through a portal this size.
Dani pointed out some blinking computers, the only ones still with power inside the entire compound. "They were working on a new portal," she said. "The Fentons sold their research. I'm not sure how we missed it, but they were really close to getting it figured out."
"This isn't from the GIW?" Jazz asked, gesturing to the behemoth of a disaster still swirling next to them.
"No, I don't think so," Danielle zoned out. Her eyes glowed, and she looked at things Jazz couldn't see. "This was opened from the other side. I think someone broke in, took Danny, and left after killing everyone."
"Someone from the Ghost Zone?" Jazz frowned. She bent over the computer, trying to click around for security footage. "But who do we know that is strong enough to kill everyone so physically? Vlad swore to never interact with us again, even if it was life or death. Undergrowth would have left plants behind, Nocturn doesn't like killing in the mortal realm, and Vortex can't sustain himself underground. None of the normal rogues are strong enough, either. Unless they got Desiree to help?"
"Nah, she may be a bitch, but she refuses to participate in murder of any kind. Plus, she's a neat freak. This isn't her work. It isn't Ghost Writer either; he doesn't like writing horror stories."
"What about Frostbite or Pandora?"
Dani wrinkled her nose. "Maybe? Frostbite is a pacifist who is more likely to rescue Danny without killing anyone. And the portal is too small to let Pandora through. She could've sent her warriors, though."
"It was Danny."
Jazz glanced up from the computer. Sam and Tucker were standing in the door, looking pale.
"We pulled recordings from the labs dating back two months. Danny was the one who killed everyone."
"...Pardon? It's only been a few weeks since he disappeared."
"I don't know." Tucker frantically typed away at his PDA, pulling up the downloaded footage and shoving it in Jazz's face. "But it's definitely him. I pulled their files, too. They were looking into time travel, Jazz. The day Danny showed up in their records, Operative K and Operative O were also logged in, even though they were 100% still in Amity during that time. They suddenly added on the time travel stuff a day later."
Jazz zoned out, numb to Tucker's near-hysterical rant. She just watched the tiny screen blankly as Danny was tortured over and over again but refused to give up the secrets the agents were asking for. Every time he refused, he was punished by having his organs taken away and put into jars for study. Then he'd be pumped full of pure ectoplasm, and just like Prometheus, he was back the next day with fresh organs for harvest. The dates in the recording went back weeks. Way before Danny disappeared.
Dani sobbed and looked away from the screen. Jazz couldn't even blink. The turning point in the experiments was when they brought in a little girl, a human girl, in front of Danny. The girl was about five, probably homeless or kidnapped, with pretty blonde hair done up in pigtails. Jazz noted she had been crying and had the number '27' pinned to her shirt. Danny was wary, sure it was a trick until he spotted something off-screen that they couldn't see. He jerked forward, straining to reach the girl, panic in his eyes.
But he couldn't reach her. Two scientists simply wrote down some observations before nodding in the same direction Danny was looking. Without asking a single question, the agents killed the little girl in front of Danny.
Jazz's hands shook as tears filled her eyes. Danny, her sweet baby brother, looked on in horrified shock as the cameras switched. Agents dumped the girl's body in a barrel of ectoplasm and waited patiently until a blue wisp rose from it. Then, using a Fenton peeler, they zapped the child's soul without mercy. Normally, the peeler stripped the disguise off a ghost to reveal their real form. But to a fresh soul as weak as that?
Her soul was burned into nothing.
Danny started screaming and imploded in on himself like a star.
The camera blacked out for a few moments, flickering between glimpses of her brother and blackness. She barely recognized him. His form had warped into something unrealistic. Something straight out of a movie. He was impossibly large now, barely able to walk on two legs when he stood amongst his broken restraints. His chest was a gaping cavern, and when he turned towards the camera, she could spy his tiny core exposed to the world. It was acting like a black hole, pulling at Danny's own skin and flesh like it was trying to suck him in. It was beautiful and strange in a horrible way.
He was too fast for the camera to really keep up with, but Tucker had doctored it to slow down each frame. Danny's face was splitting in two from a silent scream. His hair was flowing wildly, falling over his body, so it looked like he had a white, shaggy cloak.
His hunt never stopped. He didn't slow or hesitate to pounce on everyone he saw. His body was stained red from the gouging of people's eyes, which was the fastest way to reach a human soul. The group watched in horror as Danny leaned over his victims, opening his splitting maw even wider and devouring every soul he could, ensuring that they wouldn't even get peace in death. The churning of his core was getting worse, and at some point, he was spreading ice with every step he took. It looked like he was really struggling to stay standing by the time a few scientists were the only ones left in the compound. Jazz was afraid of what would happen if he collapsed completely. Would his core devour him?
At some point, the cameras really did die, and the screen went dark. Jazz realized she was crying, and moved to give the PDA back to Tucker.
"There's more," he shook his head. "But we didn't watch that far ahead because an outside force added it when I downloaded everything."
Like he said, the screen crackled back to life after a moment. The group realized it was from Danny's point of view. All the agents were dead, and he was stumbling through the halls in a daze, unable to keep his bigger form. He finally made it to the room they were in now, probably drawn to the familiarity of the lab layout. Before he could reach the unfinished portal, however, the freestanding one opened and out stepped a very familiar figure.
"Clockwork?" Jazz muttered, surprised.
As if hearing his name, Clockwork looked directly through Danny, straight at her. "The flow of time has been disrupted." He said softly. "I'll take our young Guardian here to a safe place. We have much to talk about, Miss Jasmine. You, too, Samantha, Tucker, and Danielle. I'll see you soon."
Then, the older ghost's focus switched back to Danny, and it was like he'd never spoken to them at all.
"Daniel," he coaxed. "It's time to go."
Danny groaned but stumbled forward and passed out in Clockwork's arms, promptly ending the video.
Silence descended over the room. Jazz could hear blood rushing through her body, and her heartbeat was pounding in her ears. She thought over what they'd found in the facility, about the state of Amity Park, her parents, and most importantly, her brother. About how he was tortured to the brink of insanity and how he still found it in his heart to love others. To protect them. To care and grieve for someone he'd never met. He must be feeling so much hurt.
Deciding on the next step was easy.
"We need to find Clockwork."

[I realized the timeline is kinda confusing, and I promise it'll all match up in the next chapter, but here's a chart on what it looks like right now so it's easier to understand.]
Tumblr media
[The top one is the timeline Ra's and the rest of the DC characters are on. The middle is Jazz and the others. Danny is separate from both timelines right now because of the Time Medallion that Dan forced into his core. Right before the start of the story, which is marked in bright colors, Danny and the agents he's traveling with get involved in a time anomaly and are transported two months into the past. The agents still take him to the Yellowstone compound, but the incident makes the GIW speed-run their research on the Ghost Zone and, now, time travel. The timelines sync up again when Tucker finds the video from Clockwork. The total amount of time that has passed since the start of the story to the sync-up is about three weeks.]

Sleepovers & Baby Snuggles
Josh X Danny X Y/N, Featuring Uncle Jake
It's Josh, Danny, and Y/N's one year wedding anniversary and Uncle Jake volunteers to babysit.
WC: 1.7k+
Warnings: While this piece is fluff the Iced Chai Universe is 18+ Only!, Uncle Jake has a lot of feelings mainly being excited and nervous.
“I'll watch her. I'll take her overnight if you want.” Jake offered as Josh and Danny discussed how their baby would fit into their anniversary plans. “ I've looked after her for the afternoon a bunch of times now, it can't be that hard, you two do it.” He jokes.
“I mean, I'm fine with it.” Danny agrees, looking at Josh for his answer.
Josh bites his lip,” I mean it is a little more work. But I know you'll be fine, let me just check with her Mama, see what she thinks.”
Jake smiled, his chest growing warm at the idea of looking after his niece, their first of (hopefully) many Uncle Jake and Hazelnut sleepovers. Excitedly his mind fast forward a few years when she's old enough to really laugh and play and they can watch movies and play pretend. Order a pizza and make ice cream sundaes, letting her stay up until she inevitably crashes on the couch next to him.
Josh interrupted his thoughts,” Y/N said she's fine with it, she said she trusts and has complete faith in Uncle Jake.”
🌜⭐🌜⭐🌜
Folding and placing the super soft, still warm, blanket on the couch he heard his doorbell ring. Jake felt giddy, he was excited and nervous, but he also felt honored that his family trusted him to care for their precious baby girl. Opening his front door stood Josh, Danny, Y/N and Hazel in her arms. He embraced them one by one before gently ruffling Hazel's little fuzzy head,” Hey girlie, you ready to hang with Uncle Jake?”
“Of course she is, actually she couldn't stop talking about it on the ride over,” Y/N joked, peering down at the five month old baby in her arms.
Jake giggles grabbing the diaper bag from off of her shoulder,” Alright, lay it on me. What all did you bring, what all do I need to know?”
Y/N goes through the mental list of everything they brought, the contents of her diaper bag, her overnight bag, and the toys she brought. Josh came over with a sheet of printer paper, Hazel's entire nighttime routine listed out in detail as well as a list of emergency contacts and her doctors numbers.
Jake's mouth turned up into a grin,” You really put our mom and Lori's number on here like I don't already know them?”
“Ah! Well, I don't know, I thought if you were in a panic it would be helpful to have them on the sheet.”
“There won't be any panic, but I appreciate it. Hazelnut and I are gonna have the best time.”
Y/N walks over to the baby swing Jake bought the first time he looked after her, gently setting her in and turning it on. Its then that Jake notices that they're dressed up,” So what's on the agenda for your one year anniversary?”
Danny smiles,”The location is a surprise, but I'm taking them to dinner-”
“And then we're gonna fuck like rabbits” Josh proclaims a satisfied grin on his face.
Jake shakes his head, his face twisting in pretend disgust,” Glad I could help.”
Steering the conversation back in the right direction Danny tells Jake that her bottles are already in the fridge, and that instructions for reheating are on her sheet.
“Seems like everything is covered. We're gonna be fine.” Jake states, slipping his hands in his sweatpants pockets.
Y/N embraces him,” You are gonna do fine. We love you and we'll see you in the morning.”
Each of them embraced him one more time before saying goodbye to their daughter, he could tell that they were feeling bittersweet.
The door closed and he locked it behind them making sure it was secure. His sock covered feet carried him back into his living room and he smiled at his niece staring back at him, swinging back and forth. His eyes wandered to her soft toys and stuffies strewn about his living room, adding a certain color and vibrancy to the space.
“Hey sweetpea, Uncle Jake's got this. Your parents made sure of it,” he giggles. Leaning down his hands wrapped around her back, gently lifting her and cradling her to his chest. “ What do you wanna do huh?” As if she was voicing her opinions, coos and squawks left her lips.
“Uh huh, okay, yeah sounds good. TV it is, but I get to pick the movie.”
Jake settles in on his couch, placing her on his bouncing knee as he navigates the remote selecting the movie he wants to watch. As the title screen plays and the actors are introduced the same way he's seen dozens of times before, he sees that she is intently looking at him. Jake makes a fishy face, briefly crossing his eyes and she giggles. He giggles too, her bright baby laughter infectious. Next he leans in blowing a raspberry against her tummy and she squeals. He continues making her laugh for a while longer until she settles and loses interest. He leans back against the couch watching as her tiny hands grip onto his silver coin necklaces. She goes to put one in her mouth and he redirects her,” Eugh that'll taste yucky…. How about we facetime grandma and say hi. I think she'll like that.”
Leaning over he grabs his phone off of the end table, unlocking it and pressing on his mom's contact. She picks up on the second ring,” Hi honey! How are you?”
“I'm good! I actually have someone with me who wants to say hello.” He watches as her eyebrows furrow, unsure who could want to say hi. He angles the camera down so she can see his face as well as Hazel nestled on his chest.
“Oh hello sweetie! How's my favorite little girl? Are they over too? I want to say happy anniversary.”
“No actually I'm watching Hazel overnight, they're out celebrating their anniversary.”
“Overnight? That's great honey, she's a good girl, Y/N was just telling me that she's a hard sleeper.” His mom giggles, her eyes focused on her granddaughter. After a few beats she sighs lovingly,” You know Jacob, you look good like that, with a baby on your chest.”
Jake smiled, warmth spreading in his chest,” Thanks mom…”
“Do you think you'll ever have one of your own?”
Hazel's head lightly thudded against his chest as she got comfortable,” I would… you know I have a soft spot for kids.”
“You do! You and Josh both, big softies.’
He lightly chuckled his free hand gently rubbing on her little back.
“Well mom, it's getting kinda late, we just wanted to say hi. I still have to get her fed and changed and ready for bed.”
“Okay honey, I love you both. If you need any help you know you can call me. I'll put my ringer on full blast.’
“Thanks mom, love you.”
Jake hung up the phone and picked her up, setting her back down in her swing while he went to go make her bottle.
🌜⭐🌜⭐🌜
He double checked the list making sure he did everything before settling down on the couch. He laid back against the cushions bringing Hazel with him. Her tiny pink footie pajama’d feet idly kicking across his tummy.
“Shhh shhh, it's time to relax honey. You have a full belly you should be getting sleepy.” He pulled her against his chest and she began to melt against him, relishing in the body heat he provided. Soon enough her little legs curled up and her little pink mouth began moving around her binkie. Gently Jake grabbed the blanket from across the back of the couch and covered them with it, tucking her in. An hour and a half later his movie was over and his eyes were getting heavy, peering down at the little girl she was still peacefully asleep. He didn't have the heart to disturb her and transfer her to the cold sheets of her crib so he let her slumber on his chest.
🌜⭐🌜⭐🌜
His doorbell rings bright and early, and he goes to open it, a groggy little baby in his arms.
“Good morning!” His twin sing songs as they file inside of his home. A smirk forms on his lips when he sees the three of them with matching dark circles under their eyes.
“Long night?” Jake snickers.
“Actually no, not for the reason you're implying. We couldn't sleep, we missed her too much. Our house felt too empty without her.” Danny expressed.
Y/N makes grabby hands at her Hazel and Jake, almost reluctantly, hands her over.
Once her baby was cradled to her chest she asked,” How did she sleep?”
Jake grins,” Well actually, she only woke up once. She actually slept on my chest all night, we were so warm and comfy, I couldn't put her down.”
Y/N smiles at him, her eyes a little glassy.
Jake helps Josh and Danny gather up their belongings and says goodbye. As Jake closed the door behind him he smiles, their Uncle Jake and Hazelnut sleepover was a success. Turning around his face falls as he notices the lack of life in his home. The house is quiet, he can hear the hum of his air conditioning. The carpet is tidy, no more colorful toys and fluffy stuffed animals. The only things left were the baby swing he purchased sitting next to the couch and the fuzzy blanket they were wrapped up in all night. Sitting back down on his couch he wraps himself up in the blanket and he swears he can still smell her baby pink smell on it. Swallowing hard he realized that he hated his empty house, it's lonely and cold. His mind wanders to last night, how warm and cozy, and right everything felt with the addition of a little one inside of these four walls. Maybe, that's what I need. What I really want.
He thought back to how he felt when his mom told him that he looked good holding a baby. He thought about how he would look holding his baby. Jake pulled his phone out of his pocket, quickly hitting the search bar typing in surrogate agencies near me, clicking on the nearest highest rated one. His eyes were flooded with information as soon as he opened the website, he studied and studied each page. His smile widening when he clicks the button, schedule a consultation.
Soo, plot twist 🫣 Jake's going to be a single dad by choice.
