I stitched these two corvids while my partner was off on a business trip. While I love the blue one, I changed the color scheme from red to green and added in the clouds for the other in an attempt to add at least one other color, and I'm not sure if the results are all that great. Maybe I should have stuck with the original colors. Hopefully, their intended recipient still loves them! Let me know in the tags if you still think it looks okay.

Tajik Suzani

"Suzani is a type of embroidered and decorative tribal textile made in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries. Suzanis are rather delicate and extremely few examples survive from before the late 18th and early 19th centuries. They belong, however, to a very ancient tradition. Suzanis were traditionally made by Central Asian brides as part of their dowry, and were presented to the groom on the wedding day."

That moment when a proud, disagreeable man of ten thousand a year comes over to the pianoforte. Cross-stitched quote in a blackwork frame on 18-count Aida cloth.

I've posted this piece before, but pulled it out of my FO pile to re-photograph now that I have (slightly) better lighting. Taking a good photo of a single strand of yellow floss on white cloth is still not easy.

the prison realm was surprisingly hard af, I underestimated how difficult straight lines are to stitch lol. I’ve been trying watercolor in some of my newer projects instead of fill stitches as well. the choso looks fine, but the fabric I used was awfulllllll. way too thick and structured. impossible to do detailed curves.
