Rock the Rink, an annual tour that focuses on being more than a figure skating show, made a stop at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa Nov. 9. The cast featured Canadian greats Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Patrick Chan, Kaetlyn Osmond and Elvis Stojko. Italian Olympic Medalist and World Champion Carolina Kostner and Olympic Medalist and four-time U.S. National Champion Jeremy Abbott were also part of the show. November 9, 2019. A little tired, a little hungover, and absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude, we now conclude our @rocktherinktour. There are no words to express the feeling of thankfulness, luck, joy, sadness, hope, loss, excitement, and literally every other feeling in the arsenal as we wait for our flights back to Toronto. Holy crap. We did it. 27 arenas. Straight across Canada, from one ocean to the other. Closer than we’ve ever been. . To the incredible cast, where to begin. @kaetkiss and @idreamofjeremy - thank you for becoming our best pals in the whole world. We literally can’t imagine playing a show without you on the sidelines anymore so please never make us try. @pchan31 - thank you for being a never-ending source of light and inspiration, and for losing those NHL2012 games like a champ. Better luck next time. To @elvisstojko, thank you for teaching us to honour our bodies and our spirits, for sharing with us ways to prepare for a show that we will carry with us forever. To @mskostner, thank you for your grace, poise, laughter, and passionate love for the art of figure skating. To @xam_trankov and @fire_bird, thank you for being an absolute COUPLE GOAL for everyone in our crew and for showing us that when you work together, the human body is capable of almost anything. . And of course, to @scottmoir14 and @tessavirtue17. What is there to say? We are so grateful to call you our friends. Thank you for taking us on this incredible journey. For believing in us. For sharing with us your dedication and your love. For introducing us to the most enthusiastic, wacky, supportive fanbase a band could ask for. To have been there with you for that last dance was the greatest honour of our careers. But this is absolutely not goodbye. We cannot wait to see the amazing things this world will bring to you and we will be there on the sidelines, cheering you on every step of the way.

Such a fun evening watching @tessavirtue17 & @scottmoir14 skate together (slide 4, 8, & 7) for what will be their LAST SEASON ever before they step away from the sport 😢 They were paired in 1997, at the ages of 7 and 9, and today, they are the most decorated Canadian ice dance team of all time and the most decorated Olympic figure skaters of all time 🎉🥇 Having skated together for over 20 years, they are the longest-standing ice dance team in Canadian history too 💙 They will be missed!

Another huge highlight from last night was seeing @elvistojko skate too (slide 6 & 9)! He was definitely a favourite of mine to watch growing up. He’s such an incredible performer! courtneybannist: So the show was a little different this.  Missed @elvisstojko a ton but really enjoyed @tessavirtue and @ScottMoir extra time on the ice.  They brought out this young girl, about 12 yrs old, that was from the local skate club.  She was super cute and quite good.

courtneybannist: @kaetlyn_23 showed her how to do a turn then her, Scott, the girl and @Pchiddy did a "spread eagle", leaving Tessa behind.  Apparently she can't do them, and Scott teased her about it.  Then the girl "showed" Tessa how to do one.  Then the girl did her Mary Poppins number.

courtneybannist: Scott told her "that's Tessa's favourite movie, maybe she will forgive you for showing her up with the eagle."
