winter break.
in today’s episode of “it was a doodle until it wasn’t” i drew the pose bobbi is in without really thinking about throwin in a character but then when i DID decide it was bobbi, it ended up becoming an entire scene. bobbi— like ruggie— does what he can to get all the soon to be expired food from rsa to bring to the kids in his neighborhood.
things have been a little rocky with ruggie as of late, but despite that they still come together to hand out their spoils. old habits and what not.

fun facts
songwriter Bernie Taupin said that "Tiny Dancer" wasn't about one woman in particular, but instead the women he saw in L.A.: "We came to California in the fall of 1970, and sunshine radiated from the populace. I was trying to capture the spirit of that time, encapsulated by the women we met–especially at the clothes stores up and down the Strip in L.A. They were free spirits, sexy in hip-huggers and lacy blouses, and very ethereal, the way they moved. They were just so different from what I’d been used to in England. They had this thing about embroidering your clothes. They wanted to sew patches on your jeans. They mothered you and slept with you. It was the perfect Oedipal complex"
Originally titled “Hey Jules,” named after John Lennon’s son Julian, this song was written by Paul McCartney to comfort him during John and Cynthia’s divorce. John Lennon stated that he thought the song was written as a form of blessing from Paul McCartney for his and Yoko’s relationship.
While "Hey Jude" was being recorded, producer George Martin voiced his concern that radio DJs wouldn't play it because it was so long. Lennon responded with: “They will if it’s us.”

Hatter have you heard there's gonna be a Devil Wears Prada musical???? So now I'm like, band au???
Tumblr media
oh yes I'm v aware about the musical, I have been clawing the walls begging for more than a snippet of a song to be released but apparently it might be coming to the west end next year!!! (with a minor very unconfirmed and very unlikely to be nothing more than wishful thinking rumour that Hannah waddingham could play Miranda, brb while I combust at the thought) so I might even get the chance to see it rather than wallow in self pity at it being all the way on the other side of the pond.

Note: I’m not including “Lavender’s Blue” from Cinderella (2015) because it was not written for the movie. It’s a 17th century English folk song.

fun facts
4 Non Blondes bassist Christa Hillhouse said she was having sex when she heard Linda Perry working on "What's Up?" down the hall. she abruptly stopped and ran into her room to ask her what she was playing because she liked it so much
the band chose to name the song "What's Up?" to avoid confusion with Marvin Gaye's song "What's Going On"

can't stop thinking about the fruity four going to a bar for a fun night out, and unbeknownst to them all, the place they picked is hosting their weekly karaoke night.
allllll night eddie tries to get steve up on that stage, but steve refuses. says there's no way in hell he'll be caught dead making a fool of himself in front of all these people like that.
but eddie is nothing if not persistent when he really wants something, and he keeps pestering steve about it, keeps begging really. and the more steve drinks, the looser he gets.
which means that eventually, finally, he finds himself caving to eddie's request (because he's never truly been able to say no to eddie munson, not in the long run — and it abaolutely helps that eddie said he'd go up there with steve, that they could do it together, and that he'd even let steve pick the song for them to sing).
so that's how they find themselves up on stage in front of a packed bar, singing a sloppy, mostly off key, ridiculously giggly rendition of don't go breaking my heart by elton john and kiki dee.
they make a real show of it, dancing around each other on stage, shimmying back and forth, twirling one another — just making total fools of themselves, exactly like steve said he wouldn't.
but he doesn't even care now, because he's too caught up in eddie, too caught up in the song, too caught up in how much fun he's having.
they're smiling and laughing and falling into each other, and when the song comes to a close and they take their bows, the whole bar hoots and hollers for their crazy performance.
they slide back into their booth, pressed up against each other, and share twin grins.
it's the best night they've had in a very long time.

obsessed my coworker who doesn’t know who john lennon and nancy pelosi are, thinks crack is legal in the us, thought it was illegal to get copyrighted tattoos (like anything from disney or any major company), has 3 tattoos dedicated to this random dj she’s obsessed with, and left work early today to go get a marvel tattoo after finding out it was legal
