can't stop thinking about the fruity four going to a bar for a fun night out, and unbeknownst to them all, the place they picked is hosting their weekly karaoke night.
allllll night eddie tries to get steve up on that stage, but steve refuses. says there's no way in hell he'll be caught dead making a fool of himself in front of all these people like that.
but eddie is nothing if not persistent when he really wants something, and he keeps pestering steve about it, keeps begging really. and the more steve drinks, the looser he gets.
which means that eventually, finally, he finds himself caving to eddie's request (because he's never truly been able to say no to eddie munson, not in the long run โ€” and it abaolutely helps that eddie said he'd go up there with steve, that they could do it together, and that he'd even let steve pick the song for them to sing).
so that's how they find themselves up on stage in front of a packed bar, singing a sloppy, mostly off key, ridiculously giggly rendition of don't go breaking my heart by elton john and kiki dee.
they make a real show of it, dancing around each other on stage, shimmying back and forth, twirling one another โ€” just making total fools of themselves, exactly like steve said he wouldn't.
but he doesn't even care now, because he's too caught up in eddie, too caught up in the song, too caught up in how much fun he's having.
they're smiling and laughing and falling into each other, and when the song comes to a close and they take their bows, the whole bar hoots and hollers for their crazy performance.
they slide back into their booth, pressed up against each other, and share twin grins.
it's the best night they've had in a very long time.
