They are my ultimate OTP. I don’t even really care for e2l pairings personally but lawlight to me is just Different and those that get it get it

2) Kataang from Avatar: The Last Airbender

Literally they were the first ship I ever shipped. I’ve shipped this pairing since I was like 8 years old. They are very near and dear to my heart and they are so cute and perfect together and they spark so much joy and I am SO EXCITED for the movie!!!!

My favorite character of all time is Light Yagami from Death Note. I fucking LOVE his character so much. I just love everything about him. The way he’s written, the nuance, his whole aesthetic. It’s so *chefs kiss* and I have so many thoughts about him. I am NOT one of those death note “fans” that hates Light or drags his character lol. I am a Light enjoyer unapologetically and he imo is one of the best villains of ALL TIME

Another character I love immensely is Carl Grimes from The Walking Dead comic book. Not the show cuz the show is trash! I used to relate so much to Carl growing up bc I read the comic book as a teen. He’s forever cemented as one of my favorite characters of all time. Also I love the character design and how he’s kind of an anti hero

I also love Ellie Williams from The Last of Us 1 and 2 for the same reason. She reminds me a lot of Carl in the “anti hero” sense. She’s also such a badass. Love those video games !!!!

I also love Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan. Can you tell I like morally questionable characters? Lol. Eren was always and will always remain my favorite character in AOT. He’s kind of crazy but I like it lol and I kind of relate 🤣

Aang from ATLA is also one of my favorite characters. He’s got a sick character design, I love the way he’s written and he’s genuinely a huge comfort character to me. His character arc makes me cry it’s so well done and I love his personality. His character makes me very happy :)

Lastly I think another fav character is Will Byers from Stranger Things. I relate heavily HEAVILY with him. Not only that he’s an artist like me, or his personality which is similar to me as well, but also his upbringing with an abusive father and lastly the fact he’s canonically a gay guy like me makes me feel very represented in the show. He’s my favorite in the entire cast of characters. Love him to death and Noah Schnapp was such a perfect cast and he acts his ass off every second of screen time

your  father  supervises  your  educations,  and  mother  teaches  you  a  trade  that  you  will  carry  with  you  for  the  rest  of  your  life,  and  life  goes  on.  you’re  barely  into  adulthood  when  the  war  begins,  and  it  is  your  first  taste  of  the  horrible  things  you’ve  only  ever  heard  stories  of.

sheltered  childhood  only  serves  to  hurt  you  as  the  years  passed,  no  trained  fighter  and  fearing  the  war  that  ravaged  the  lands  you’d  come  to  call  home.  you  were  certain  your  home,  your  family,  could  make  it  out  unscathed,  but  fire  soon  spread  through  the  seaside  town.  in  the  markets  when  the  attack  began,  you  had  rushed  home  to  find  it  ablaze,  the  screams  of  your  parents  inside.

it  haunts  you  still,  and  with  no  time  to  find  where  your  sibling  might’ve  gone,  alive  or  in  danger,  you  seek  out  the  one  place  you  were  warned  not  to  go,  straight  into  the  faerie  lands.

you  spend  some  time  seeking  refuge  in  the  spring  and  summer  courts,  enough  to  know  that  there  were  some  fae  that  did  not  hold  the  views  of  hybern,  or  the  queen,  some  that  showed  kindness  and  compassion  for  all  that  was  lost,  and  all  that  was  still  to  lose.

but  one  unfortunately  interaction  led  you  into  the  hands  of  the  king  of  hybern,  a  mortal  plaything  locked  up  and  treated  as  little  more  than  test  subject  for  his  nefarious  deeds.  put  on  display,  meant  to  act  as  dutiful  servant,  and  yet  the  king  of  hybern  still  saw  a  spark  in  you,  as  fiery  as  your  hair,  that  kept  you  alive  just  that  little  longer.

with  the  cauldron  in  his  grasp,  and  no  shortage  of  potential,  the  king  knew  what  he  was  doing  when  he  dragged  you,  kicking  and  screaming,  into  it.  he  was  showing  the  world  what  power  lay  in  his  hands,  what  he  could  do  to  defiant  and  obedient  mortals  alike.

when  you  emerged  from  those  murky  depths,  you  were  not  the  same  as  when  you  entered  it;  ears  pointed  where  smooth  curve  had  once  been,  limbs  foreign  and  difficult  to  adjust  too  —  like  small  child  still  learning  to  carry  themselves,  and  as  familiar  as  you  were  unrecognizable  when  you  first  saw  yourself  again.  

but  the  memories  of  your  time  in  the  cauldron,  that  short  eternity,  and  the  human  nightmares,  oh  how  they  lingered  still.  and  how  they  lingered  even  when  rescue  came  in  the  form  of  a  fleet  of  summer  court  ships,  or  sanctuary  was  found  within  dawn  courts  borders.

it  took  months  to  gather  any  sense  of  bearings,  and  more  months  still  to  even  considering  returning  to  the  things  you’d  once  enjoyed  doing.  but  you  found  that  busying  your  hands  stilled  the  turmoil  in  your  mind,  and  mending  armor  and  dressing  the  members  of  the  dawn  court  became  more  necessity  than  joy.

you  spend  another  almost  two  years  in  the  dawn  court,  labeled  an  oddity  and  studied  endlessly,  not  even  you  could  understand  what  of  the  cauldron’s  powers  had  turned  you  fae.  nor  did  you  want  to,  cursing  the  very  thing  that  took  away  your  mortality  and  thrust  you  into  a  life  where  you  would  never  quite  fit  in.  feared  by  mortals,  disregarded  by  fae.  

and  when  the  offer  came  to  join  the  winter  court  as  the  royal  seamstress,  you  were  eager  to  oblige,  and  you’ve  been  content  to  remain  amidst  the  snow  and  furs  until  the  time  came  to  venture  to  the  mountain.

TLDR .

human  seamstress  made  high  fae  via  the  cauldron  after  being  forced  to  watch  her  parents  die  and  having  to  flee  into  the  faerie  lands  in  search  of  respite,  only  to  be  captured  and  tortured  by  the  king  of  hybern.  was  eventually  able  to  seek  refuge  in  dawn  court,  though  it  took  her  about  a  year  to  well  and  truly  recover,  now  she  works  for  the  winter  court  and  just  pours  herself  into  her  work  to  take  her  mind  off  of  the  trauma  that  haunts  her  still.  has  a  sibling  that  is  still  alive  but  she  has  spent  about  the  last  5-6  years  thinking  was  dead  and  doesn’t  know  any  different  so,  you  know.

1) horizon zero dawn. that’s it that’s the post. every single environment is so gorgeous, i have so many environment shots that i’ll probably start sharing soon. if you want to get specific i love the nora heartlands the most, i spend wayyy too much time in photomode staring at the trees lol

2) ellie’s seattle day 2, specifically when you’re leaving to go find nora. the moody twilight atmosphere is just so good

3) zeffo from fallen order! in general i’m just a sucker for a nice, slightly overcast kind of vibe

4) nyc from spidey / miles morales. the details are actually so incredible and i love the fact that for the most part it actually is like a mini model of nyc. sometimes i just like to boot it up and swing around just to hang out in the city. bonus points for when it’s rainy or snowy i love it so much

a 2020 wrap up/

it’s already the new year when i’m writing this. my room is still bright with its light on, the heater running, a cup of tea on my side and fuzzy socks on. 2020 wow! another year has passed and what a turbulent year it was. i supposed i’m one of the lucky ones who didn’t feel the effects of it as much as the majority. immediately it is one thing i am grateful of and many more.

The Living and the Dead - The plot revolves around Nathan Appleby and his wife, Charlotte Appleby whose farm is believed to be at the centre of numerous supernatural occurrences. Set in Victorian times and has ghosts and an excellent aesthetic.  Available on Amazon Prime. 5/5

A Series of Unfortunate Events - This series follows the tragic tale of three orphans -- Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire -- who are investigating their parents' mysterious death. The siblings are saddled with an evil guardian named Count Olaf , who will do whatever it takes to get his hands on the Baudelaires' inheritance. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling devious plans and disguises. The series is based on the series of books by Lemony Snicket.  Available on Netflix. 

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina - A dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror and the occult. Downton Abbey - This historical drama follows the lives of the Crawley family and their servants in the family's Edwardian country house. The programme begins with the 1912 sinking of the Titanic, which leaves Downton Abbey's future in jeopardy, as Lord Grantham's presumptive heir -- his cousin James -- and his son, Patrick, die aboard the ship, leaving him without a male offspring to take over the throne upon his death. As a result, Lord Grantham must search for a new heir. Gran Hotel - Set in Spain in the early 20th century, Julio arrives at a luxury hotel to meet his sister, head chambermaid Cristina only to discover she has disappeared. Penny Dreadful - An exploration of the origin stories of classical literature characters in this psychological thriller that takes place in the dark corners of Victorian London. Victoria - The monarch's life is chronicled as the story begins with the death of King William IV in 1837, her accession to the throne at the tender age of 18 and her relationships with the influential forces around her. With the advice of the prime minister Lord Melbourne and the support of her husband Prince Albert the young queen flourishes and establishes herself in her newfound role. jade had a fairly typical upbringing, almost picturesque. she had two loving parents, an older brother and sister, and even a golden retriever to complete the picture of a perfect family. and for the most part, they were pretty damn perfect. they were sunday morning pancakes with her father reading the comics from the newspaper to the kids while her mother hummed whatever song came on the radio. they were family trips every month and game nights every friday night. her parents made it to every baseball game and recital and school spelling bee. there were the typical sibling arguments over dumb things, but jade remembers those times fondly, especially since she knows she won’t get those back again.

she was always the honor roll kid, the one who had top grades and obeyed every rule her parents gave her. her brother & sister were both in college by the time jade got to high school, and while it was somewhat difficult living up to their glowing reputations, she managed to have a pretty good time in high school.

her high school had a emt training program and she joined that as soon as she was able at 16. she’d always known she wanted to do something in the medical field, and her plan was to become an emt after graduating high school and continue her college education to eventually become a doctor. things didn’t happen the way they were meant to obviously.

when she was barely 18, she went to a party. it was one of the few she went to, but this one turned out much different than ones she’d been to before. she remembers getting in the car with her friends to head home. she remembers her friend screaming. she remembers a stranger offering her his blood. and she woke up in the morgue the next morning with sunlight burning her skin and nearly scaring the morgue attendant to death (though he didn’t survive very long either with her hunger growing). all she had on her was a phone number in her pocket that directed her towards the salvatore boarding school. 

she spent a year there before the incident happened. jade had been doing fairly well, though she was more than a bit bitter about how her life had turned out. all her parents knew was that there’d been some sort of accident, but that jade had been given a scholarship that would take her far away from them. she hated what turn her life had taken and wanted to live a little more than she had before. in her mind, she’d always been just the good girl who would  make her parents proud, and look where that had gotten her? dead. 

it’s almost ironic that the two worst nights of her life was when she was branching out and going to parties. the first got her killed and the second ended with her killing the girl she was interested in and shutting off her humanity for ten years. the prison world was hell for her, and leaving it behind was nothing short of a miracle. she’s determined to be better than she was in the past, to try to move past her guilt over what she’s done.

in the missing year, jade was working on studying vampiric lore, but specifically focused on rippers and what makes them different. she wants to find something that explains the why and how behind it when it seems so random. she also helped in first aid when needed because sometimes using magic isn’t the answer, ya know. not that she remembers working on any of that now.

she’s more than a little pissed to have lost more of her life. in her mind, she lost ten years in the prison world, stagnant at age 18, but now she’s lost yet another year of her life that could have been spend on growth and bettering herself. she isn’t sure she knows how to move past that bitterness that clouds her compassion.

jade isn’t honestly entirely sure who she is now. she spent a decade of her life with her humanity shut off, being cruel and sadistic towards her friends and an enemy. with her humanity back on, she’s bitter of what she lost and the now eleven years that were stolen from her, but she’s grateful for another chance to be better than she was before. she’s hard-working and will always put in 200% effort in what she does; she enjoys working towards her own goals and the satisfaction that comes from finally achieving them. she’s kind and loyal towards her friends, but isn’t above using charm to get what she wants. she was rebellious after becoming a vampire, and that much hasn’t changed. she was fairly stifled in her human life (though she was never mad about it), but she released some of her more negative traits after becoming a vampire. her guilt over her actions has definitely stamped down some of her impulsiveness, but she’s still sort of wavering between wanting to just have fun and make up for lost time and wanting to make up for her actions over that time.

listen i’m horrible at thinking of wanted connections, but i’m down for almost anything. would love maybe some friends she’s made, vampires she’s bonded with over how much it sucks, maybe another ripper to commiserate with, some connections she made over the lost year and is now like wtf.

the one thing i would like to mention is that, like mentioned on the main regarding jade/josie, i’m not super comfortable with jade being interested in someone so much younger than her. while she did lose a huge portion of her life and is physically 18, i don’t see her ever being romantically/sexually interested in anyone significantly younger than her or someone she knew when they were a child. that’s just not it for me, ya know.
