The year’s end was drawing near, and Maximus found himself in his room, preparing greeting cards.

It had been three months since he joined Gold, but it already felt like a fundamental part of his life. So many good memories, so many connections forged. Each moment with his team had shaped him, deepened his sense of purpose and belonging.

He sat at his desk, carefully arranging the cards. Each one carried a personal touch, a memory shared with a brother.

Maximus glanced at the roster, his gaze lingering on the first line: 001, Percival/Ezan (@polo-drone-001), his master and so much more. For him, Maximus included a photo of himself serving coffee, a subtle nod to their bond. With some bros, there were so many moments shared he had to just evoke one memory…like with Herc (@goldenherc9), for whom he recalled Stigandr demonstrating his twin berserk spirit Bödvar the power of discipline.

For Ares (@goldengod-ares10), his thoughts turned to a rough session with Neil, arousal peaking. A late-night discussion right after becoming 070 stood out for Brody (@brodygold).

He kept working down the list, each name evoking vivid memories. For Daniel(@danielgold-16) a simple note evoking a missing hand. Exchanging hypno file tips with Mark (@markgold-18). And for Hades (@hades-gold19), the warm memory of him being the first to welcome him to the Team when he was still Henry.

Further down, Max (@little-pup-max) reminded him of a needed video tutorial, while Leon’s (@leon-gold) hot pic brought a brief but undeniable blush to his face. For Trey (@hero21us), he mentioned the Gold influence, while a cheerleader costume tryout stood out for Riley (@rileygold60), and the installation of a hypnotic trigger for his mentee Duncan (@polo-drone-061) brought a small, satisfied smile.

To Chevy (@chevy-gold), he offered gratitude for helping him through a restless night. A transformation by Cratos for Hunter (@polo-rone-066). Brief but heartfelt words followed for others: “drone rabbit hole” for Hans (@hansgold-69), “gold soak” for Phoenix (@polo-drone-071), and “drone pride” for 073 (@polo-drone-073), who had been such a willing guinea pig.

At last, he indulged in cravings for hot golden collars from Cletus (@cletusgold), deep massages from Denchik (@mrdenchik), and, finally, the evocation of straining in a cage for waterboy Laurent (@laurentgold06).

The cards were ready. Minor gifts, just simple tokens of appreciation, but they carried the essence of Maximus’ gratitude. Through these memories, he realized what he was truly giving to the team: his unwavering devotion. And in return, he was receiving something far greater—pleasure, belonging, and a place in something far bigger than himself. Luvin you all, bruhz ! Gold is da best.

And now, it's Addair's turn. The next chapter will be a one-shot release for Halloween. It'll be out tomorrow.

Halloween Special:

Addair and Raffs had no reason to work together on The Beria, but on the farm, they oddly worked well together. Raffs thought Addair must have been a handyman in his previous life because he seemed to know everything. And not just from checking the fences.

When they passed through a deserted field, Addair's eyes caught the attention of a tractor that was beginning to rust. Instead of helping Raffs pry off the broken board for a new one, he lifted and examined the vehicle. From the punctured tires to the cracked clutch. Instead of being frustrated with Addair, Raffs was in awe of him. Not for the god-like strength he now possessed because he knew he could never come close to that, but for how knowledgeable he was.

He watched the engineer point out the faults and how he would fix them. Raffs was always willing to learn, and even if he'll never see farming in his future, it was a good way to break the ice with a man he was told to avoid.

'Will it ever run again?'

'After some trial and error, it might.'

'How do you know that?'

'I've only been an engineer for six years, Raffety. Before that, I did anything to scrape by.' That wasn't an original story. Like Caz, Roy, Innes, and possibly many others, they all came to the rig to either escape something or make a change. Raffs was different. He just followed Brodie. Brodie came for the prospect of money. Something that wasn't at all selfish in this economy.

As the pair finished their round, the sound of the snow crunching beneath their feet got closer. They didn't react at first, thinking it was Caz coming to help as Raffs began to hammer a nail into the post. That was until Addair heard the voice.

'Dad! Dad!'

Like with Gibbo, time froze, but unlike Gibbo, Addair turned with a smile on his face. He dropped the fence board he was holding, leaving Raffs to deal with it alone, and scooped up his son into a hug.

'Richard.' The youngest of his boys. Only seven years old. 'I missed you so much. Did you miss me?' Raffs was surprised. Not just because Richard didn't care what his dad had become, but because he had to remind himself that Addair was a member of the National Front. Looking at him now, you couldn't tell. Here, he was just being a good father. Who knew someone like Addair was a person under his political beliefs?

Richard nodded. 'Did you get my Christmas card?'

'Of course, and I let everyone know you made it. Now, where's Elliot?'

He knew where he was. It was a game the twins would often play. Richard would cause a distraction whilst Elliot tried to scare their dad. It never worked. Addair would either pretend to be scared or figure out his hiding spot. This time, it was the latter. Elliot had snuck is way around by going through the field. Raffs saw but didn't say anything. Instead of scaring his dad, Elliot felt a tendril wrap around his arm and be pulled up and over Addair's head. 'Oh, here he is.'

'Here I am!'

With a laugh, Addair brought his sons into a hug. Being the only one of two infected who still kept his arms had its advantages. Raffs smiled. It was a sweet reunion, but that soon came to a halt thanks to the voice of a woman only a few yards away.

'Calm down? How can I be calm?!' It was Jennifer. She stood beside her second eldest son, George, who looked both shocked and terrified by his mother's rage. Addair noticed, too, and set the boys down besides his work colleague. That was Raffs' cue to take them back to the house. 'My husband, your father, has been turned into that!'

Well, that stung. Still, Addair wasn't worried. He approached Jennifer, who had her back turned, and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. She flinched, turned, and took a few steps back. Okay. Now it hurt. Whatever remained of Addair's smile faded, and slight worry began to creep into his mind. He saw her eyes. She was scared, confused, and didn't know what to do with herself. This was Geroge's time to slowly step away and follow his brothers to the house.

'Jennifer. It's okay. It's just me.' She didn't reply. More worry. 'It's okay...'

'Stop saying that, Addair.' Now, complete worry entered his mind. She never called him by his name. Jennifer swallowed her fear, which was born from shock. But, now it was replaced with worry, but she couldn't bring herself to move. 'Look at what's happened to you. How are you okay?'

The words cut deep. Addair's jaw tightened, trying to hold himself strong to her words. A look of shame was in his eyes. Jennifer noticed and began to feel guilty, wondering why did she say such a thing. He wasn't okay, and they both knew that.

Addair carefully held out a hand and reached forward. 'But, it's still me, Jennifer. ' His hand rested on her cheek. After a moment, she leaned her face into him and, like Trots, rested her hand on his wrist. Her shoulders dropped, and she closed her eyes. She moved her head so that her face was in his hand. His smell was still there. Now, Jennifer didn't want to let go. Her fingers traced and touched his wedding ring. Tears swelled, but she stayed strong as she started to play with it.

Addair moved closer and adjusted his body to make it look like he was sitting. Carefully, he pulled and lifted Jennifer up and into one of his signature bear hugs. She clung to him, now no longer caring if she was hugging an exposed organ or blood vessel. 'Does it hurt?'

'No,' Addair answered truthfully. 'Not anymore.' More silence, as the pair enjoyed the moment. 'How's Tommy?' The question broke the hug. Jennifer's eyes were still full of tears.

'Still the same,' she replied as she began to unfurl her scarf to wrap it around Addair. 'The doctor said he still has brain activity, but apart from that, he's still sleeping.' A pause. 'I just want him to wake up.' Now, she began to cry, and Addair pulled her back into a hug. 'But that could take years.'

'And, we'll be there when he does. Okay? Please don't cry, Jenny.' Addair hated seeing his Goddess upset.

Of course, they had to think of Addair. How can he go back into society with a job, let alone go and see his son? That's what he wondered back when the fog was lifted. The question fueled his own anger towards Rennick, but Gibbo got to him first. But this wasn't about him anymore. He was just grateful to be back on land. He was grateful to have his wife in his arms and to see his sons smiling. The only thing they had to worry about now was Tommy.

He felt a kiss on his cheek that tightened the hug. They'll stay like this. At least for a little while.

-this is such a Rachel coded song, I can totally picture her singing this at one point in the first season, maybe start as her singing at the auditorium following her to the hallways until she gets slushied, funny honestly since the song is about glamour and being famous.

-I’m convinced every artist has a song that it’s absolutely terrible, for Katy Perry is Peacock, for Avril Lavigne is that cover of O Holy Night, for Gaga is this one, I have yet to hear something so terrible, literally sat down and felt like grinch, I would have Sugar sung this terribly in the episode and slightly better in the studio version cause even tho Vanessa Lengies can sing no one can sing this song and be good.

-rise animation meme fuckers, tbh I was very surprised a gaga song became an animation meme, I was even more surprised to know that the song was going to be featured in the sex and the city movie but got scrapped, anyway, the episode with Tina needing to find a new look, who better to help her than Kurt? This would look kind of like Diva in season 4 with Kurt and Tina cat walking and later Mercedes, Quinn, Brittany, Santana and Rachel would join.

-this song is catchy as fuck but lyric wise it’s a bit… strange. From what I understood, it’s about a grown man singing about a little girl he knew, that is now a big girl (aka an adult) and… yeah it doesn’t fit exactly their relationship but the other option would be Rachel and Mr Schue singing… this song is very straight forward to throw the naive card at Will, so Brody will do, he’s like 22? 23? -okay i’m annoyed, you have a “Gaga episode” in season 1 except only two out of five songs are from Gaga, and one of them was done dirty, I actually like Beth and I don’t really mind Funny Girl, but Shout It Out Load is a no no, I wish the boys would’ve sung a rock version of Gaga, the only I could think off was the halestorm cover of Bad Romance, and honestly, I think they would kill it

-wow, listening to this being a SA victim is very powerful, this song is from a documentary about rape/abuse/molestation of woman on universities and colleges, I can’t think of everyone else but these two to sing about it, they weren’t the only ones sexually assaulted on the show, but were definitely the ones to be affected the most by it, they would sing this together, holding hands in mutual support for each other and for everyone else who unfortunately suffered from the same fate

-I love this cover, Ryder has always been such a gentleman, to me at least, I may have a soft spot for guys who dedicate songs for their lovers, unfortunately for Ryder it was that awful fake Katie catfish Unique thingy, if he sang this to Unique in fact, or Kitty, Marley, Jake, whatever it would definitely be appreciated more as a cover

-I think one of the best parts of season 1 is how many bitches Finn was getting with that stupid baby face of his, counting, Rachel, Quinn, Kurt, Santana and Brittany, that boy was on fire, anyway, this song would be sung by the three of them in various situations, it would be before the baby reveal so it’s Quinn wanting Finn to love her while he loves Rachel, for Rachel it would be the opposite, and for Kurt it would be him admiring him from afar

-this song is pure vibes, I can’t explain in words, is an experience to listen to this song, of course it has to be sung by the powerful duo, artcedes, these two manage to turn anything they touch into gold if they’re doing it together, this song would be like, the song where everyone breaks character and claps when they finish of how good it is, I wish I could talk more about this song cause I genuinely loved it so much

Santa Claus is Coming to Town sung by Finn, Joe and Puck in “Extraordinary Merry Christmas”

-yes, Joseph ‘Joe’ Hart sings in this, only in the studio version since he was only introduced like four episodes later, which SUCKS as a Joe fan, while Rory and Sugar had a decent amount of bonding time, Joe barely had any outside Quinn and maybe Mercedes and Sam, it would be nice to see him dressed as a Star Wars character and just having fun with Finn and Puck

Raiders of the Lost Ark is so damn good

Well my Spielbergqathon has entered the 80's ,with one of the most iconic action franchises of the 80's ,the Indiana Jones series ,starting with Raiders of the Lost Ark

In this 1981 film Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is an archeologist /adventurer who is out to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis do

So Indiana Jones is a childhood favorite franchise for me.I actually dont know which Indiana Jones film is my favorite cause as a kid ,if I watched one,I HAD to watch all three (This is before Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull ) . So what makes this watch through unique ,Is I will be viewing the Indiana Jones films in the context of Spielbergs filmography instead of as a whole .So happy to report of the Spielberg films I have watched so far .....Its at the head of the pack

Raiders is just such a fun film ,it is a thrillride .The film is full of great action.Like if you love good action,this film is for you..Like the famous boulder scene,where our hero is outrunning a boulder......There is a shootout in a burning bar ,a fun chase through the streets (With an amazing bait and switch joke ),a fist fight with a burly mechanic and ana amazing car vs Horse chase .You also get great set pieces like a tomb full of snakes (I am not a snake person so that scene always creeped me out ),Indy being chased by a boulder and of course the finale

THe film also has elements of the supernatural and that was always an appeal to me of this series.Its funny there isnt anything too mystical till the end ,but it doesnt feel unearned ,because the way the Ark is talked about ,you know something is gonna happen.I wont spoil the finale,but it is awesome and frankly terrifying ,it feels like something out of a horror film

We have three main villains .The least interesting is Colonel Dietrich ,Wolf Kahler does a good job being the voice of authority but of the three villains I kind of forget he is in the movie .Belloq is really our main villain ,a rival archologist to Indy .A oppurtunistic man ,he is in it to observe the power of the Ark .Paul Freeman is perfect in the role ,he is a great contrast to Indy ,the refined villain in white suites who firmly believes in greater powera to our more scruffy skeptical hero .Also love his piercing eyes and the excitement in his voice when he describes the Ark as a "Radio to God ".The most memorable villain however is Ronald Laceys performance as Toht .He's actually not in the film alot and doesnt say much ,but good lord is he creepy . Toht is a sadistic Gestapo agent ,LAcey is able to capture this slimey quality ,that is almost Peter Lorre esque (REally brings to mind Lorre in All Through The Night ).

The supporting cast is all great ,with memorable appearences by Alfred Molina (In his first role )George Harris and William Hootkins .Denholm Elliot brings a warmth as Museum curator Brody . The best supporting character has to be Sallah ,Indys friend played by John Rhyse Davies , he brigngs a sense of levity and warmth to the film and to be frank.....Hes the character who I think has the best lines ,my favorite being "Aasps! Very dangerous.....You go first."Plus everytime he sings it just makes me smile

Karen Allen plays Indy's love interest Marion .Theres a toughnbess and sense of humor to her that makes her stand out .My favorite scene with her is where she is getting drunk with Belloq ,while she is hiding a knife so she can plan an escape

An now we get to Indy who I can best describe as James Bond but combined with a Humphrey Bogart character .He bit of a scruffier and scrappier action hero and Harrison Ford was kind of the perfect choice ,being tough but able to convincingly look like he is in danger ,which just makes us root for him even more

OVerall this is such a damn good action movie ,highly reccomended

The finale of this mini-arc. This chapter is one of the shortest I've done in a while because it felt like a good place to stop, and you'll see why.

Part 24:

With a flick of the switch, the light in the attic turned on. A simple fix. Thankfully, the fault was from the switch itself and not from the wiring. Also, the bulb was dead. It took less than an hour, so what did Caz do for the rest of the morning? Hide away in the attic so he wouldn't have to do anything else. Basically, what he did on The Beria.

Now, he was tempted to snoop through the dust-covered boxes, but sleep soon took over. 'Just an hour won't hurt,' he thought. But, that hour became several. With no windows to project natural light, Caz had no idea what time it was when he eventually stirred. All he noticed was that the room felt colder. Couldn't have been so long if no one came looking for him? Then he made it downstairs and glanced at the grandfather clock in the hallway as he walked outside. It was twenty past three.

Shit.

Wait. No. Caz knew he could pull it off. No one but him knew about electrics. No one knew what the fault was. He'll just make up a story about how he had to rewire the entire attic. Yes. That'll do. Time to go and find Muir. Wasn't he in the barn? The weight off his shoulders quickly vanished-

'UNCLE ROY!'

Caz's body tensed. His breath began to shake. Those voices. Cait. Maidie. His weens. They were here. Ignoring all sense of his surroundings, Caz dashed across the snow. He nearly ran over Trots, who watched with Simon. Muir, Raffs, Brodie, and Innes watched as they shared a smoke and a flask of coffee. Rennick and O'Connor watched from the other side of the cattle-guard. Addair and Gibbo shifted their attention from their families to see, and they did the same after a second or two. George, Elliot, and Richard stepped onto the porch. Caz kept running. Even when he slipped in the snow and rolled over, he was quick to get back on his feet. Nothing was going to stop him. Their figures stood with Roy. Their voices entered his ears. Caz's heart soared.

'CAIT. MAIDIE.' The girls turned and instantly ran towards him.

'Dad!'

'Daddy!'

'Cait...Maidie...' The three held their arms out, and as soon as he reached his daughters, Caz scooped them up in his arms and spun around with a laugh. 'I missed you so much.' He didn't waste any time kissing his children, as they hugged him with laughter, which he joined in on. Only, it wasn't out of joy, but relief. Of course, Caz was over the moon to see his weens, but seeing and embracing them in his arms brought back all the memories. The good. The bad. The last time he saw them. To reading their Christmas card. It all culminated to tears falling down Caz's face.

'Why. Why didn't I kiss your beautiful faces before I left?' No. 'How could I leave you?'

'Daddy? Daddy, please don't cry,' Maidie said with a slight panic in her voice. 'Aren't you happy to see us?'

'Oh, Maidie.' He kissed the top of her head. 'Of course I am. I'm just so happy.'

'But, you're crying.'

'And that's a good thing, trust me.' Caz wasn't the only one. Roy, with his hand over his mouth, cried at the sight. 'I promise, I'm not leaving you both again.'

'Caz.' Another voice that made Caz's breath shake. Suze. He turned and saw her face. It made his heart skip a beat. A small smile formed. She was as beautiful as the day he left. They could both feel the cloud that's been looming for months. It was still there. Caz set his girls down, wiped his eyes, and approached his wife. Within four steps, they embraced. It was tight, filled with all those lost days and regrets.

'My love,' Suze mumbled.

'My everything.'

They buried their heads into each other's shoulder, and just for a moment, nothing else mattered. The cloud was gone.

'Caz?'

'Hmmm?'

'Who's your friend that's staring at us?'

And there goes the moment, and in comes reality. With a small and quiet sigh, Caz pulled away and turned to Muir, who waited with anticipation, his face ridiculously close. Suze didn't react to his or the others appearance. They weren't exactly hard to spot, even when she was walking up the drive.

'Hello,' Muir said in a chipper tone whilst using a tendril to replicate a wave. Suze smiled, whilst Caz stifled a laugh.

Some introductions were in order.

'Eh, right, okay.' The others approached. 'Everyone, this is Suze. My beautiful missus.' Caz felt like he was back in school, expecting everyone to say 'Hello, Suze,' in unison, but he didn't care. There was clear pride in his voice. 'Cait and Maidie, my equally beautiful weens.'

'Finally, I can put a face to a name,' Addair joked, because for the longest time, he didn't believe Caz was married, or had a family. Treating him like a stray Cadal picked up in the middle of the sea. Caz had to hold back, giving him the middle finger. Not in front of the children, and not in front of their own missus.

'That's Addair. Engineer. This is Muir. He's letting us stay here until we sort some things out.' Caz began to point to each member and what they did on The Beria. '...And this is Rennick. Our site manager.'

For some reason, Rennick was surprised to be acknowledged. He shifted his eyes as Suze approached. Strange. Was he nervous? No. Rennick was never one to be nervous. True, he had no idea what Caz has been telling her in his letters, or when he got a turn in Administration to make a call. Through the grapevine, aka, whenever he overhead Caz and Roy talk about home, it was quickly established that Suze wasn't someone to mess with. Still, he held his head high, reflecting that fake politeness he would give new hires first stepping off the helipad. Only this time, he was trying to be genuine, but that was easier said than done. 'If I could extend a hand, I would.'

'It's fine. I just hope my husband didn't give you too much lip.'

Rennick forced a smile. 'None whatsoever.' A lie. Suze saw right through it but didn't say anything. Caz stared at his manager with wide eyes as he stood behind Suze, giving a look that said, 'Are you serious?'

'That's a relief.' Oh. Yes. She turned to Roy and gave him a hug, giving Rennick time to give Caz a shit-eating grin, who, in return, lightly elbowed him in the cheek. 'I'm still raging at you.' Roy didn't reply. 'But, you kept your promise. Thank you.'

'I always keep my promises, Suze,' he chuckled. He wasn't wrong. Finding the Light of the Lord really changed Roy over the past several years, as annoying as it was to hear him use it as an excuse. 'Now, go and be with Caz. I'll keep an eye on the girls.' He pulled away and drew his attention to Cait and Maidie. 'Right. Do you want Uncle Roy and Muir to show you the horses?'

'Yes, please!'

'Can Jack and the others come?'

'Of course,' Muir answered, kneeling down to their eyeline. 'But, beware of Spider. He bites.' He playfully chattered what was left of his teeth before picking the girls up with his tendrils and lifting them onto his back. Jack, George, Elliot, and Richard soon followed, with or without their parent's permission, and whenever they got close enough, Muir continued to hoist them up. Roy and Gibbo followed, just to be sure.

Caz and Suze watched before turning to each other. Everyone else began to disburse. Slowly, their hands locked.

'Are you ready?' Suze asked.

'Yeah,' Caz answered. 'I'm done runnin'.'

The cloud had returned. It was time to either let the rain pour or turn their sky blue.
