ex-gymnast here. that sport is so fucking wonderful and devastating at the same time. you got a rip? YAY, but also ow. your everything hurts but at least you got a new skill! you have a mental block due to an injury you sustained from a certain skill but just do it anyways. just walk it off. can you stand? can you feel your limbs? "We're paying hundreds of dollars for you, you better go to practice"
i fucking love gymnastics so much, i always will, i'll always think about how it could've turned out. but apparently your body isn't supposed to bend and flip through the air like that. who knew?!
also who the FUCK is making a CHILD do 200 pushups? that's utter bullshit right there. coaches/parents like that are the reason so many gymnasts are miserable and quit the sport. the hell is wrong with people?
i'm sorry you had to go through that, gaia <333 much love to you <33
Omg anon tysm for this, i feel so understood🥲🥲🥲
I also think all the time about how it would’ve gone if hadn’t quit. Sometimes it’s my biggest regret, sometimes I realize how miserable I actually was because of that utterly stressful life.
The environment in my gym was very very toxic, my coaches set up literal castes and didn’t even look at you until you climbed up at the top. Especially my young male coach, he showed no mercy when you misbehaved🥲 push ups, climbing the rope, minutes and minutes of running…looking back at it it’s even kind of funny XD
But yeah, gymnastics will always be the love of my life, I’ve never stopped obsessing over it and staying constantly updated (I literally broke down crying when Alice d’amato won at the Olympics) but realizing how much trauma it caused me…it’s definitely sad. Wouldn’t change it for anything in the world tho <3.
Again thank you so much, your words really warmed me up so much. I hope you’re okay and happy❤️

Peptides: The Secret Weapon for High-Performance Athletes and Executives
Tumblr media
What Are Peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. Unlike proteins, which can consist of hundreds of amino acids, peptides are much smaller, typically made up of 2-50 amino acids. Their structure allows them to be highly specific in their functions, acting as signaling molecules within the body to regulate various physiological processes.
How Should Peptides Be Used?
Peptides can be administered in several ways, depending on the type and intended use:
Injections: Many peptides are administered via subcutaneous or intramuscular injections to ensure they enter the bloodstream effectively.
Oral Supplements: Some peptides are available in pill form, though their efficacy can be reduced due to digestive breakdown.
Topical Applications: Peptide-infused creams and serums are used in skincare for their regenerative properties.
Dosage and administration frequency depend on the specific peptide and its intended use. It is crucial to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the appropriate protocol.
Benefits of Peptides for High-Performance Athletes and Executives
1. Enhanced Energy Levels
Peptides like CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin are known to stimulate the release of growth hormone, which can lead to increased energy levels. For athletes, this means more stamina and endurance during training and competition. Executives can benefit from sustained energy throughout their demanding workdays.
2. Improved Recovery
Recovery is critical for athletes to maintain peak performance and avoid injury. Peptides such as BPC-157 and TB-500 have potent healing properties that accelerate the recovery of muscles, tendons, and ligaments. For busy professionals, these peptides can help recover from physical stress and fatigue more rapidly.
3. Enhanced Performance
Peptides can enhance muscle growth, fat loss, and overall physical performance. For instance, peptides like Hexarelin and GHRP-6 boost muscle mass and strength, enabling athletes to achieve new performance milestones. Executives can also experience improved physical fitness, which contributes to better overall health and resilience.
4. Mental Health and Cognitive Function
Peptides such as Selank and Semax are known for their nootropic effects, improving cognitive function, reducing anxiety, and enhancing mood. This is particularly beneficial for executives who need to maintain sharp mental acuity and manage stress effectively. Athletes also benefit from better focus and reduced performance anxiety.
Peptides for Health and Longevity
Promoting Health
Peptides play a vital role in regulating various bodily functions, including immune response, inflammation, and cellular repair. Thymosin Alpha-1, for instance, is known to boost the immune system, helping the body to fight off infections more effectively. This is particularly important for maintaining overall health and preventing illnesses that could disrupt daily activities.
Enhancing Longevity
Research into peptides like Epitalon suggests they may have anti-aging properties by promoting the health of telomeres, the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes that are associated with aging. By maintaining telomere length, peptides can potentially delay the onset of age-related diseases and extend healthy lifespan.
Conclusion
Peptides are a powerful tool in the arsenal of high-performance athletes and top-level executives, offering benefits that range from enhanced energy and recovery to improved mental health and longevity. As science continues to uncover the vast potential of these molecules, their use is likely to become even more widespread. However, it is essential to approach peptide supplementation with caution and under the guidance of a healthcare professional to ensure safety and efficacy. By harnessing the power of peptides, individuals can not only achieve their peak performance but also enjoy a healthier, longer life.
Peptides have emerged as a groundbreaking addition to the health and wellness strategies of those striving for excellence, whether on the field, in the boardroom, or in everyday life.

Screw Paris 2024, let's start thinking about who's going to world's in 2025. Post Olympic world's are always my favorite because there's no team event and you get to see gymnasts you might not otherwise see getting medals and these more than any other worlds are full of surprises.
My way too early to call it gymnasts for 2025 are Hezly Rivera, Tiana Sumanasekera, Joscelyn Roberson and Trinity Thomas.
(my dream is to see Gabby Douglas there but I think that won't happen.)

its like...... "sad" is maybe not the exact right word (in neither the dismissive/derogatory nor the empathetic sense) but its kind of..... hard to watch in that way (?) when you see/hear gymnasts sharing their side of a story and its pretty clear, if you know more about that world as an outsider looking in than someone in the thick of it does/would, that they arent seeing the whole picture. either because they dont [seem not to] know enough about all the moving parts at play to have a thorough understanding of everything, or because they're too emotionally invested (understandably!!!!) in it to be able to look at it objectively.

So lately I’ve been thinking (which is weird and rare) and yk i realized just now that my childhood was not the standard, that very few people experience what I’ve been through. I thought that it was very normal and not a big deal crying every week because your elementary school friends invited you over after school and you had to decline every time because you had training and not going wasn’t an option. I thought it was like very normal to cry for 5 hours straight most of the days because of pain and frustration??? And breaking bones was like, common sense, that’s gonna happen eventually, multiple times too, not a big deal. The skin on your hands exploding? Spit on it and go back up, another round. Not being able to eat after 7 hours of training because you’re too exhausted to even stand up? Yeah it’s okay ima take a shower. You’re scared shitless and having a panic attack because survival instincts are taking over but you HAVE to go up on that beam and flip or you’ll be sent home? Alright, geez, I’m going I’m going. “Today you misbehaved, you went to get water without permission after not drinking for 2 hours during floor in a 35 degree weather. After lunch break you’re doing 200 push ups, I’m counting”. You smashed your nose during enforcement and now you’re bleeding? Shiiiit I’ve gotta go stuff some toilet paper up that nostril or I’ll stain everything. You’re throwing up because you’re too exhausted? Fuck please gimme a sec in the restroom please don’t punish me I promise I’ll catch that yeager later. Not to mention the jealousy towards all your friends and family because they could do whatever they wanted in the afternoon and during summer cause they didn’t even know what a gym was.
AND UP TIL NOW I THOUGHT THIS WAS STANDARD FOR EVERYONE??? LIKE I NEVER QUESTIONED ONE SINGLE THING OF THEESE IN MY LIFE??? that feels so normal to me though growing up as an elite athlete was definitely smth

potentially controversial take bc i know Aleah is the ncaa-piked-deltchev fav: when i see Rifda Irfanaluthfi beat her all i think is "good"
(i know it's only happened because of composition problems and falls on Aleah's end but idc... in fact, i hope it happens again)
something something perspectives of ncaa difficulty etc being used to undercut the effort and work of gymnasts (and gymnastics programs overall) from small federations something something
Rifda beating Aleah multiple times flies in the face of that nonsense and i'm glad
