I danced growing up and it is SUPER hard so I love good dancers because they dance like it’s so easy, like they’re not even worried and it’s just natural when I know it’s not and I have huge respect for that

same. they make it look effortless and I so admire that. I think that’s with every art to some degree tho. it’s best when it looks like it’s effortless.

I have a variation on the numbers thing which is imagining myself walking down a flight of stairs. I start at 20 or 30 and count down each step. *Usually* I’m asleep before I get to ‘1’ at the last step before the bottom, although sometimes not! It helps tho. And I try to relax more with each step down. The 'down’ thing seems to help with relaxing. Solidarity from a fellow insomniac!

*insomniac fistbump* ah see I would do the stairs thing but I have this irrational fear of falling down the stairs (and I mean when I was three I did fall down the stairs lol) and I know it sounds weird but I lose my balance a lot in my dreams? but yeah definitely counting will help I think. and maybe even walking up stairs instead of down them?

Spoilers under the cut--

Everything just felt so off. There was a sudden “lets save Savatar” plot that didn’t really go anywhere and felt like an odd creative decision for the final episode when there’s been nothing really leading up to it beforehand. The death of HR was pretty much an afterthought and didn’t seem to impact anyone in the way that death should impact a character and/or characters. Caitlin went from “yes I’m helping the big bad” to suddenly going “oh I changed my mind.” And once Savatar was randomly shot dead by Iris, and the episode felt like it was going to spend the last ten minutes offering some closure, they created some random ass speedforce storm that Barry had to stop by going into that prison. And that whole last scene felt so... strange??? Like Barry had no reaction to leaving Iris behind or anything. It felt really stupid to me. I get they were portraying him as heroic but the way it was written or acted or whatever... it was just off. It felt really rushed. 

I think THE FLASH struggles with its conclusions and it has for every season. They always come up with weird ways to defeat the villain, and then the cliffhangers feel less... exciting and more “oh is that it?” Like I remember Season 2 ending with him changing everything and it was like a real defeated ending as a viewer, and I felt the same with this one. I remember the Zoom/Barry confrontation in the S2 finale being really shit, and felt the same about Savatar/Barry in this finale. I think I can always count on the show delivering a great season - as a whole - but they always stack the landing. Just how I felt about it, to be honest. 

I did love Caitlin refusing the cure, though. I want Killer Frost to stick around, and for Caitlin to find her new self with it. I loved Iris saving the day, and that line about how Barry spent all this time trying to save her but she saved him now. There were some great moments, but overall it felt very rushed and disjointed and they really need to stop with the last-minute cliffhangers that seem to come out of nowhere and ruin the buzz of the finale.

I can do like a proper form for it when I get back from work today but I just wanted to get an idea of who was interested. 1. What’s the otp that haunts you? Like, we all have sunken otps, but what’s the ship that still haunts you and will always lowkey haunt you because they were so amazing that you will never understand how they didn’t end up together? God damn it Ana. I feel like you’re doing this on purpose. Our OTPs are so tragic. But the fact that Dan/Blair ended so badly will haunt me till my dying breath.

2. What show has Completely Disappointed You? Like, started-out-so-good-how-did-we-end-up-here disappointed you? ahem all of DCTV ahem. 

3.  What book has gotten to you? Not necessarily your favorite, but a book that hit you in the feels or made you cry or rethink things in your life or you just genuinely enjoyed? The Man Called Ove by Fedrik Bachmann. It’s not my absolute fave but god the book just got to me. 

4. If you could sink one of your otps so that another one of your otps could sail, which 2 would you pick? And why? I would sink Emma/Killian so that Thomas/Grace could sail. Out of all my proper I-was-so-invested-in-this-ship otps, I feel the least connection to Emma and Killian. I think it’s because the whole keeping things from each other to “save” them got so tiring and I wasn’t as invested in it as I was. And Thomas and Grace deserves to be happy together.
