You all gave me plenty to work with, and though time has passed, I haven't forgotten. I have utilized what I believe to be an unbiased system of sorting relevant entries to the top, and I have a list of 32 and 16 for both the "Men's Division" and "Women's Division".

So, I'm going to aim to get the ball rolling, let's say October 14th. I'll start with Men's Round 1, then the following week do Women's Round 1, and so on. I will post the actual brackets a bit closer to that date.

Angry rant below the cut!

Ok, so I actually don't mind the person's main points, which seem to be that a) at a time when it was harder to get LGBTQ+ representation into video games, the Tellius duology was pushing the boundaries and being progressive, and b) the author of the video likes a lot of gay ships in Tellius. Those are perfectly fine topics to make a Youtube video about. My main issue is that the author just... doesn't seem to know what "canon" means?? They refer to Elincia & Lucia's romantic paired endings (with Geoffrey & Bastian respectively) as canon, despite the fact that both are significantly harder to get than their unpaired endings, which screams amatonormativity to me. They also refer to Ike & Soren's romance as "so canon", and although their paired ending is at least a bit easier to obtain than those other two, it's still very much not the default, AND IT'S NOT EXPLICITLY ROMANTIC BY ANY MEANS. There are also a bunch of other comments, like "oh I see x relationship as this so I can imagine this pairing as canon". That is literally not what that word means please, it's okay to say "fanon" or "headcanon" or even "opinion".

They also use a lot of absolutist language such as "definitely fucking", "definitely has the hots for __", etc., or that a specific straight ship "could never be together", and say they're shocked they even have to explain why Ike and Soren are "so in love with each other". Maybe it's just me, but I find statements like that very irritating in what is clearly an opinion piece, because it feels like they're saying other opinions aren't valid.

I also found it mildly irritating that they just got some of the lore wrong... they claim that [SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!] the Black Knight kills Greil because Sephiran told him to... while in reality Sephiran only asked him to obtain the medallion, and the BK fought Greil to the death because of his own personal reasons (wanting to surpass his former teacher)

Everything I've mentioned so far is something that personally annoys me, nothing blatantly harmful, and I can at least understand why they included it in the video. What really drove me into a rage is the statement that "Ike is, at the very least, asexual". Like I'm sorry. The fuck is "the very least" supposed to mean???? That asexuality is a "lesser" form of queerness than homosexuality???? (Also note that the author equates asexual with aromantic, but as a non-SAM aroace I don't feel qualified to speak on how harmful or not that is) And then they immediately turn around and say that the Ike/Soren romance is canon????

There are a bunch more irritating off-hand remarks near the end of the video, such as implying that people who disagree with the author only do so because they don't like slash pairings, claiming that "everyone" would ship a pairing if it were straight, etc. I also loooooove how they blatantly skip over the discussion of Kyza's transgenderism, and also make the claim that there are no people of color in Tellius, like wtf????? idk I could talk more about both those issues but they aren't related to the video's topic so whatever I guess :/

Hector and Elincia for the ask game?

Oh man two of my absolute favs

Ok so for Hector -- him, Eliwood, Lyn, & Florina I really love as a polycule haha. Back when I first played FE7 like a billion years ago I was extremely ride-or-die HectorxFlorina & EliwoodxLyn, but eventually I was like "....But HectorxEliwood & LynxFlorina are too perfect what with each pair being childhood friends, the opposite personalities, and having size differences, and together the duos make the ideal mlm wlw solidarity/hostility scenario", and I have been exposed to some pretty good HectorxLyn fanart which is honestly a funny dynamic, and I read a EliwoodxFlorina fic a million years ago that I'm sure no longer exists but the idea of them as the exasperated gentle mediators for this entire thing is cute, plus H/E/L have excellent OT3 vibes, so after a certain point I just started liking all 4 together in some variation.

So all of that nonsense sorted, in order of favs for Hector it goes Eliwood, Florina, Lyn, but I just like them all together.

Elincia

So Elincia is tough cuz on the one hand I really like her with Lucia even tho they were raised as foster siblings, and on the other hand that's the biggest reason I hate her and Geoffrey together haha. Honestly I do just like Lucia as a char way more than Geoffrey, cuz she feels like she has more growth and depth than just blind devotion to Elincia, whereas Geoffrey kind of only has that going on and it's really boring imo. Also she's extremely attractive haha

I did once like the crack ship Elincia x Tibarn solely cuz of their interactions in FE10 and there were a couple really good fics about them way way back in the day, but I'm very much not into that one anymore haha.

And while Elincia x Ike was kinda cute in FE9, almost all the chemistry they had was a result of the localization (which definitely dampened my feelings for it knowing it wasn't originally supposed to be read so romantically), and by FE10 they kind of acted like strangers which disappointed me cuz their friendship in 9 was truly lovely.

Also I don't ship her with Pelleas (even tho they might've been an interesting match given their personalities) but I do wish we got to see more interactions between them back when he was still king, or even between her and Soren given their parentage.

Book II is done!

Chapter 66 is available now, which means Tellius Saga is 2/3 over! Book III will begin Sunday, so don’t worry about there being a hiatus  (´∀`)

In this chapter, Ike and the Greil Mercenaries celebrate their victory in Melior---but then they leave. They are no longer needed here, so they can go back to their regular lives. To Soren, who always feared he would lose Ike to Elincia one way or another, this is unbelievable. 

He determines to make the most of the rest of his life...until bad news arrives. Tellius is at war again, and there is no time for dreams.

An excerpt from before the bad news: 

Elincia was occupied the rest of the afternoon giving sober yet inspiring speeches—saying she was glad Crimea was whole again but claiming she could not celebrate when the blood of her countrymen had been spilled so needlessly. She gave orders left and right, putting Felirae under the crown’s control, investigating anyone suspected of supporting the rebellion, and arresting any participants or instigators before they could flee. (As the escapees were rounded up, Melior’s jails and dungeons were filled to bursting.) Elincia was also busy long into the night with back-to-back private meetings, in which Soren had no doubt she was scheming with her allies and striking new deals with nobles who had thus far remained neutral.

From the moment the mercenaries entered Melior Castle to the time they went to sleep that night, they were merely spectators to all this activity. They hardly saw the queen, except in passing, and she didn’t have time to sit down with them again. However, Nephenee, Brom, and their other friends joined them for a dinner in one of the palace’s more modest halls—after which Calill and Largo hosted them for drinks and games at their tavern. When they returned to the suite Elincia had prepared for them in the palace, the mercenaries whiled away the evening hours at the fireside.

Soren had been stealing glances at Ike all evening, and he was overwhelmed by how happy and relaxed he seemed. It was like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, and Soren imagined the same lightness was filling him with every glance.

He remained with the group, listening but saying little, until his exhaustion drew him away to the luxurious beds Elincia’s servants had made up for them. Ike and the others had decided they would head out for their old base tomorrow, which meant several long days of riding ahead. He would enjoy the down pillows and soft blankets while he could.

However, no sooner had he adjourned to the hall did Ike rise from his chair, saying, “Oh wait, Soren.”

He hesitated, holding the door, and Ike joined him a moment later, letting the door close, muffling the sound of the others in the parlor.

“You’re going to bed?”

“It is late,” Soren replied.

Ike yawned as if he agreed but then shook his head as if to rouse himself. “Before you go, there’s something I wanted to say.”

“Very well.” Soren waited.

“I’m…sorry,” Ike explained slowly, “for getting mad. About that business with Bastian. It turned out to be a good thing.”

“No matter the outcome,” Soren replied evenly, “I neglected your trust. For that, I suppose I should apologize.” He knew he was still no good at apologies, but this made Ike’s eyes soften a moment before he frowned.

“The truth is… I think I was running away from Crimea this whole time.”

“Crimea?” Soren repeated doubtfully, thinking ‘Elincia’ would be more appropriate.

Ike sighed. “I want to help people, I really do. And I’m not an idiot—I know money and peerage can do a lot more for people than swinging a sword around… If I’d stepped into the role everyone wanted me to. If I’d become one of Elincia’s vassals…” He shook his head. “But that just wasn’t me.”

“…I think I understand now,” Soren replied, wondering how his jealousy could have blinded him to something so simple, something that, perhaps, should have been obvious.

Ike sighed again, and when he did, the levity that had had filled him earlier seemed to return. “But it’s not like it was back then. The pressure’s gone. I’m glad we came back here. I’m glad I could help Crimea…”

“By swinging a sword around?” Soren supplied with an unbidden smile.

This made Ike grin. “Yeah.”

Soren nodded and turned to go. Unable to control his face and voice right now, he didn’t trust himself not to say something he would regret.

“Good night, Soren,” Ike said softly behind him.

“Good night, Ike,” he managed to say without turning around.

He heard the door handle click and the voices of the other mercenaries grow louder for a moment as Ike returned to the parlor. Soren allowed himself to smile softly into the shadows of the hallway until he found his room.

Under the coverlet, he closed his eyes and dreamt of sound and motion: the looseness of Ike’s shoulders, the rocking bounce in his step, the way his weight had settled into chairs all evening, the relaxed, low note of his voice, which came easily from the back of his throat. This—this was peace. This was relief. Soren imagined the lightness was carrying him away and he would float right off the bed.

Never really considered this ship but I have seen this ship floating around in small parts of the fandom

I think it’s based on a scene in Part 2 of FE10 where the two of them have a bit of a bonding moment. It’s not for me, of course, but I get why people might go there - and given her thing with Lucia it’s not the most far-fetched idea for Elincia either.

Elincia's life is divided into two halves. There was before, and there is after. Before had been when she and her parents had been huddled in the master bedroom, far inside the castle, stone walls between them and the siege raging outside. The table was set for teatime, and they'd tried to drink a little, her mother's hands shaking as she poured the tea, her father's smile weak and not reaching his eyes. They'd all been in formal attire, and Elincia was wearing her favorite orange gown, and her mother had said she'd looked beautiful. It had been a desperate attempt at peace and normalcy, even though the clink of teaspoons on saucers had done nothing to drown out the crashing and screams from outside. The tea had been cinnamon. There were biscuits, raspberry flavored. And then there was the beginning of the after, when a massive, hulking monster of a man had burst through the window and his sword had knocked her father's head from his shoulders as easily as it had shattered the glass seconds before. (READ ON AO3)

Fan-made merch scouting poll results

You might remember the Fan-made Merch Questionnaire that was circulating some time ago. As responses stopped coming I have now assembled results and will post all of them under the cut in case they might be interesting to some of you. 

As for the pairings that made it into production, the idea was that any pairing that receives 10 or more votes will get in. Not gonna lie, the most popular pairing was somewhat of a surprise:

It seems that people care about the art-style the most and are willing to even forgive a higher-than-average price if they love the art-style. 

Some of the more frequent answers, when asked if there’s something else that might be discouraging in the same scenario, were: payment type offered, preorders happening at an inconvenient time and the quality of merch being bad (I have never personally encountered any particularly bad quality merch, if someone is willing to elaborate on how do you recognize this before buying that would be interesting to hear). Kudos to that one person that refuses to buy when Niles is drawn with light skin. Same. 

Skimming through each individual answer showed that many are actually willing to forgive art-style if the price is low and freebies are included.

This should be helpful to any artist opening a store when deciding on prices. I know it cleared some uncertainty for me.
