We got five minutes
for us to disconnect , from all intellect
Bob your head like epilepsy
Up inside the club or in your Bentley
Come on now, do not correct it
Let's get ignant let's get hectic
I never liked the radio version…I know they were making it so that it was “public friendly” but I like this version A LOT better.

when I was 9 I had a friend who loved the black eyed peas and I didn't know the first thing about music so I thought they were really underground, edgy, futuristic like they were producing music straight from another galaxy. to this day I still can't see them as pop icons they're my old friend's bandcamp find with 2 listeners from outer space
#also I had to google which animal was on the album cover my friend had. I thought it was a monkey but it's an elephant lol#which makes sense since the album is called. elephunk. but 9 years old me didn't know abt that and I never checked after that lol

I would like to offer up their first three albums as well as their first album post-fergie as proof that they are a lyrical hip hop group first and foremost. Anything else was an experimental side gig for the bag.
Listening to a lot of 2000s pop has driven in the fact that the Black Eyed Peas have some of the worst lyrics ever put to paper
#black eyed peas#i will die on this hill#and learned about#I started with Elephunk#then worked my way down#it’s good stuff#and master of the sun??#MASTERS OF THE SUN VOL 1#their magnum opus#I cannot speak for anything else#but I will speak for the heart of the group#which is purely love for the genre of hip hop
