I hate humans........
Excerpt from this story from The Guardian:
Zimbabwe will cull 200 elephants as it faces an unprecedented drought that has led to food shortages, a move that tackle a ballooning population of the animals, the country’s wildlife authority has said.
Zimbabwe had “more elephants than it needed”, the environment minister said in parliament on Wednesday, adding that the government had instructed the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Authority (ZimParks) to begin the culling process.
The 200 elephants would be hunted in areas where they had clashed with humans, including Hwange, home of Zimbabwe’s largest natural reserve, said the director general of ZimParks, Fulton Mangwanya.
Zimbabwe’s environment minister, Sithembiso Nyoni, told Voice of America: “We are having a discussion with ZimParks and some communities to do like what Namibia has done, so that we can cull the elephants and mobilise the women to maybe dry the meat, package it, and ensure that it gets to some communities that need the protein.”
Zimbabwe is home to an estimated 100,000 elephants – the second-biggest population in the world after Botswana.
Due to conservation efforts, Hwange is home to 65,000 of the animals, more than four times its capacity, according to ZimParks. Zimbabwe last culled elephants in 1988.
Neighbouring Namibia said this month that it had already killed 160 wildlife animals in a planned cull of more than 700, including 83 elephants, to cope with its worst drought in decades.
Zimbabwe and Namibia are among a swathe of countries in southern Africa that have declared a state of emergency because of drought.
About 42% of Zimbabweans live in poverty, according to UN estimates, and authorities say about 6 million will require food assistance during the November to March lean season, when food is scarcest.
The move to hunt the elephants for food was criticised by some, not least because the animals are a major draw for tourists.
“Government must have more sustainable eco-friendly methods to dealing with drought without affecting tourism,” said Farai Maguwu, director of the nonprofit Centre for Natural Resource Governance.
“They risk turning away tourists on ethical grounds. The elephants are more profitable alive than dead,” he said.
“We have shown that we are poor custodians of natural resources and our appetite for ill-gotten wealth knows no bounds, so this must be stopped because it is unethical.”

the thing is that even if i believed wholeheartedly that there was no ethical way to keep elephants in captivity it wouldn’t change the fact that it’s an absolute necessity at this point in time. like
#culling of 200 wild elephants in zimbabwe announced#and it’s like. well. the people are starving. the elephants eat the food. what CAN be done.#and the answer is breeding more elephants in suboptimal conditions.#idk. it’s hard to remember sometimes that we’re doing the very best we can with animals that Can’t be free.#work tag

okay so to preface i know this might sound like a troll or something. i’m not joking i am genuinely asking this question.
do you think it’s okay for someone to identify as butch, like as a gender term, without really being attracted to women?
i’m approximately a trans man and attracted entirely, as far as i know, to men and masc-aligned nonbinary people (i simplify things to gay trans guy when talking to cishets). and the term butch really feels like it describes me in terms of gender, but there’s the elephant in the room that like. i don’t like women. and idk i’ve gotten mixed answers on whether it would be like disrespectful/appropriative to use that word to describe my gender when i am, essentially, a gay man. so i wanted to ask your two cents idk. so so sorry this ask is so long 😭
yep that's okay!
butch literally just means "queer masculinity"- the term originally was coined by gay men in a conlang used between each other for safety called "Polari," and was used to in reference to masculine gays. the term was quickly adopted by the lesbian community and even other communities. butch doesn't have any requirements except being a queer masculine person. your attraction and even your gender identity don't have anything to do with that or have any way of possibly changing it
i get this question literally all the time so i don't mind answering it. if someone tells you that you HAVE to be a lesbian or a woman to be a butch, they're a rad fem. that information is not correct, not only in theory, but in practice. there are countless people across queer history who have identified as butch who are not lesbians or even attracted to women. you can be butch and bi, you can be butch and asexual and aromantic, you can be butch and be gay, you can be butch and anything else as long as you're a queer masculine person
white rad fems love to assert that "butch" belongs to women and the lesbian community but that's literally historically inaccurate. whenever someone tells you this, they are proudly and loudly regurgitating rad fem believes without second thought. rad fems are obsessed with claiming that certain terms belong to lesbians "only" and trying to cull anyone who isn't a woman out of """their""" community.
many trans men and mascs identify as butches. many gay men identify as butches. many bisexual, asexual, aromantic, non binary, genderqueer, genderfluid and GNC people identify as butches. butch has nothing to do with one's attraction or sexual orientation, it is about one's gender and/or presentation. hope that helps! take care, feel free to ask any more questions you may have

Humans infecting animals infecting humans − from COVID-19 to bird flu, preventing pandemics requires protecting all species - Published Sept 4, 2024
I remember back in 2022, someone mocked me for worrying about zoonosis of new coivd strains. The science backs up my thoughts once again: We have to protect *everyone,* even critters, from disease to prevent future pandemics.
Authors Anna Fagre Veterinary Microbiologist and Wildlife Epidemiologist, Colorado State University
Sadie Jane Ryan Professor of Medical Geography, University of Florida
When the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic on March 11, 2020, humans had been the only species with reported cases of the disease. While early genetic analyses pointed to horseshoe bats as the evolutionary hosts of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, no reports had yet surfaced indicating it could be transmitted from humans to other animal species.
Less than two weeks later, a report from Belgium marked the first infection in a domestic cat – presumably by its owner. Summer 2020 saw news of COVID-19 outbreaks and subsequent cullings in mink farms across Europe and fears of similar calls for culling in North America. Humans and other animals on and around mink farms tested positive, raising questions about the potential for a secondary wildlife reservoir of COVID-19. That is, the virus could infect and establish a transmission cycle in a different species than the one in which it originated.
For example, spillback has been a long-standing threat to endangered great apes, even among populations with infrequent human contact. The chimpanzees of Gombe National Park, made famous by Jane Goodall’s work, have suffered outbreaks of measles and other respiratory diseases likely resulting from environmental persistence of pathogens spread by people living nearby or by ecotourists.
We are researchers who study the mechanisms driving cross-species disease transmission and how disease affects both wildlife conservation and people. Emerging outbreaks have underscored the importance of understanding how threats to wildlife health shape the emergence and spread of zoonotic pathogens. Our research suggests that looking at historical outbreaks can help predict and prevent the next pandemic.
Spillback has happened before Our research group wanted to assess how often spillback had been reported in the years leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic. A retrospective analysis not only allows us to identify specific trends or barriers in reporting spillback events but also helps us understand where new emergent threats are most likely.
We examined historical spillback events involving different groups of pathogens across the animal kingdom, accounting for variations in geography, methods and sample sizes. We synthesized scientific reports of spillback across nearly a century prior to the COVID-19 pandemic – from the 1920s to 2019 – which included diseases ranging from salmonella and intestinal parasites to human tuberculosis, influenza and polio.
We were also interested in determining whether detection and reporting bias might influence what’s known about human-to-animal pathogen transmission. Charismatic megafauna – often defined as larger mammals such as pandas, gorillas, elephants and whales that evoke emotion in people – tend to be overrepresented in wildlife epidemiology and conservation efforts. They receive more public attention and funding than smaller and less visible species.
Complicating this further are difficulties in monitoring wild populations of small animals, as they decompose quickly and are frequently scavenged by larger animals. This drastically reduces the time window during which researchers can investigate outbreaks and collect samples.
The results of our historical analysis support our suspicions that most reports described outbreaks in large charismatic megafauna. Many were captive, such as in zoos or rehabilitation centers, or semi-captive, such as well-studied great apes.
Despite the litany of papers published on new pathogens discovered in bats and rodents, the number of studies examining pathogens transmitted from humans to these animals was scant. However, small mammals occupying diverse ecological niches, including animals that live near human dwellings – such as deer mice, rats and skunks – may be more likely to not only share their pathogens with people but also to be infected by human pathogens.
COVID-19 and pandemic flu In our historical analysis of spillback prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the only evidence we found supporting the establishment of a human pathogen in a wildlife population were two 2019 reports describing H1N1 infection in striped skunks. Like coronaviruses, influenza A viruses such as H1N1 are adept at switching hosts and can infect a broad range of species.
Unlike coronaviruses, however, their widespread transmission is facilitated by migratory waterfowl such as ducks and geese. Exactly how these skunks became infected with H1N1 and for how long remains unclear.
Shortly after we completed the analysis for our study, reports describing widespread COVID-19 infection of white-tailed deer throughout North America began surfacing in November 2021. In some areas, the prevalence of infection was as high as 80% despite little evidence of sickness in the deer.
This ubiquitous mammal has effectively become a secondary reservoir of COVID-19 in North America. Further, genetic evidence suggests that SARS-CoV-2 evolves three times faster in white-tailed deer than in humans, potentially increasing the risk of seeding new variants into humans and other animals. There is already evidence of deer-to-human transmission of a previously unseen variant of COVID-19.
There are over 30 million white-tailed deer in North America, many in agricultural and suburban areas. Surveillance efforts to monitor viral evolution in white-tailed deer can help identify emerging variants and further transmission from deer populations into people or domestic animals.
Investigations into related species revealed that the risk of spillback varies. For instance, white-tailed deer and mule deer are highly susceptible to COVID-19 in the lab, while elk are not.
H5N1 and the US dairy herd Since 2022, the spread of H5N1 has affected a broad range of avian and mammalian species around the globe – foxes, skunks, raccoons, opossums, polar bears, coyotes and seals, to name a few. Some of these populations are threatened or endangered, and aggressive surveillance efforts to monitor viral spread are ongoing.
Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported the presence of H5N1 in the milk of dairy cows. Genetic analyses point to an introduction of the virus into cows as early as December 2023, probably in the Texas Panhandle. Since then, it has affected 178 livestock herds in 13 states as of August 2024.
How the virus got into dairy cow populations remains undetermined, but it was likely by migratory waterfowl infected with the virus. Efforts to delineate exactly how the virus moves among and between herds are underway, though it appears contaminated milking equipment rather than aerosol transmission, may be the culprit.
Given the ability of influenza A viruses such as avian flu to infect a broad range of species, it is critical that surveillance efforts target not only dairy cows but also animals living on or around affected farms. Monitoring high-risk areas for cross-species transmission, such as where livestock, wildlife and people interact, provides information not only about how widespread a disease is in a given population – in this case, dairy cows – but also allows researchers to identify susceptible species that come into contact with them.
To date, H5N1 has been detected in several animals found dead on affected dairy farms, including cats, birds and a raccoon. As of August 2024, four people in close contact with infected dairy cows have tested positive, one of whom developed respiratory symptoms. Other wildlife and domestic animal species are still at risk. Similar surveillance efforts are underway to monitor H5N1 transmission from poultry to humans.
Humans are only 1 part of the network The language often used to describe cross-species transmission fails to encapsulate its complexity and nuances. Given the number of species that have been infected with COVID-19 throughout the pandemic, many scientists have called for limiting the use of the terms spillover and spillback because they describe the transmission of pathogens to and from humans. This suggests that disease and its implications begin and end with humans.
Considering humans as one node in a large network of transmission possibilities can help researchers more effectively monitor COVID-19, H5N1 and other emerging zoonoses. This includes systems-thinking approaches such as One Health or Planetary Health that capture human interdependence with the health of the total environment.

Incorrect Statements about Fenrir
(Not calling names or pointing fingers. If anyone starts drama then that’s on them.)
“Fenrir is nothing but a wild animal.”
And this is exactly why wolf culls happen. In the year 2024, when we have proof of animals having individual cultures and possibly religions (see corvids, elephants and monkeys), proof wolves will do everything they can to avoid us, and more than enough proof of their social hierarchy, you’d think this sentiment would’ve died by now. But nope. If Fenrir is a wolf, do forgive me for suspecting he acts like a fucking wolf.
“Fenrir will keep you at arms length.”
Back to the point of wolves being scared of people; if he’s keeping you at arms length, it’s probably cause he doesn’t trust you. And there’s only one reason he wouldn’t trust you; you don’t trust him. I know, shocker! A wolf who has learned to avoid people who treat him with hate, fear and ire avoids people who treat him with hate, fear and ire. Who would’ve thought?
“Fenrir is like a military boot camp.”
Tell me you think of Fenrir as just bloodthirsty without telling me you think of him as just bloodthirsty. I suspect this goes back to the idea of snarling, child-killing, Black muscular hulks of beasts that has been run into the ground as a stereotype. He may be stern and thorough, but he’s not a military drill sergeant. He is not aggression and macho-hyper-masculinity.
“Fenrir is evil.”
Wolves are keystone species. If you take them out, the entire ecosystem collapses. Ask Yellowstone how it found out. Fenrir isn’t evil in the same way Odin isn’t good. There’s no “good vs bad” in Heathenry, merely actions and consequences. Cut it out.
“Fenrir will not comfort you.”
When a wolf dies in a pack, the entire pack mourns. Some packs will break apart after the deaths of the breeding pair. If one of the breeding pair dies, the other mourns. Even after misbehaving members are corrected wolves will give them affirming licks to remind them they are family. What makes you think Fenrir wouldn’t apply to any of this? What makes you think that if a follower, a member of his pack, is suffering that he’ll just sit on the side and watch?
Funny thing is, if I said any of these sentiments but with one of the Aesir I’d get instant clap back.
“Thor is just a drunk swinging a hammer during temper tantrum.” - Not true at all; none of these define him. So why then is Fenrir shoved in a books of assumptions?
“Heimdall will keep you at arms length.” - For what reason? If y’all trust each other, what would be the problem?
If you wouldn’t say it about the Aesir or Vanir, then don’t say it about Fenrir either. Quit trying to paint him as a demon or devil.

So @currentlycryingaboutlancelot was posting about the false guinevere and it made me interested in what other arthuriana texts there are where arthur feels like the villain or at least on the darker end of the moral scale (usually without the author acknowledging it)? Obviously i vote le morte d’arthur but I was wondering if you know how widespread this writing quirk is
Hi!
You’re right on the money with your parenthesis, most texts don’t acknowledge it or at least not as fully as it could. It also sort of depends on what constitutes “villainous” behavior.
For example, in the Vulgate, it’s Arthur who sneaks into Morgause’s room and crawls into bed with her. She believes him to be Lot (ignore the impracticality of that, medieval logic to absolve her of culpability) so she has sex with him and becomes pregnant with Mordred. She then forgives him and they agree not to speak of it. Like. Madam that was rape you did not consent to sleep with this random squire kid! Who it turns out is your brother! And while Arthur is tormented by dream visions surrounding his sin, it has more to do with unknowingly committed incest that admonishing him as an active participant in any crime. Even after that, he goes on to have numerous illicit affairs that result in sons who grow into men that join the Round Table. Pretty messed up from Guinevere’s perspective to see Loholt, Arthur the Less, Mordred, et cetera all reaping the benefits of their noble births by association to Arthur while she's unable to have children or criticize the King for cheating. It’s just whatever!
I think the starkest example is the Post Vulgate where, after once again impregnating his sister with Mordred, Arthur orders the May babies to be put to death in the hopes of culling his incestuously conceived son. That’s what Malory was drawing on, so it has a lot more depth in Post. (For better or worse, probably worse.)
Another example could be Alliterative Morte Arthure. There Arthur’s fatal flaw is his fixation on expanding his territory and power. There’s no illicit affair between Guinevere and Lancelot. Rather, while Arthur is far away for over a decade, Mordred takes the throne by marrying Guinevere, and she's the mother of his sons. Mordred wields Clarent, the sword of peace, which is a subtextual signal to the reader that Arthur is the aggressor in his actions on returning, choosing to challenge Mordred for the throne at the cost of everything rather than accepting defeat for the good of the kingdom. Or, you know, having not abandoned it in the first place. At the end, once Mordred is dead, the remaining loyalists go on to kill his sons as well to end the line of succession.
There’s also the elephant in the room about punishing Guinevere for the affair with Lancelot but not really punishing Lancelot. Guinevere was to be burned at the stake, while Lancelot had fled and was, evidentially, not pursued and captured. It’s only for that reason Guinevere doesn’t die, obviously, as Lancelot returns with his kinsmen to save her. Arthur was going to go through with it! That’s the outcome in most versions of the story, at least from a medieval literature standpoint. Pretty villainous.
So Arthur sucks just as often as he is good, if not more often. Modern retellings are a whole other can of worms. If we count Sonic and the Black Knight, Arthur is straight up the final boss and replaced by Sonic at the end. LOL. So, you know, Arthuriana is a spectrum. ;^)
Hope that helps!

i hated this chapetr so much, i'm so sorry i never want to bring negativity online when it comes to things i love but this ending is just, soooo off.
tonally wrong, pacing all over the place, if u put the events on a timeline it gets even crazier. no emotional importance, no concequences, everyone is fine like it's been months since the end of the fight instead of days at best. no trauma, no mourning, fucking japan knows about curses and cursed energy now?? culling games still going, tengen? what? gojo's funeral and gojo's body, NO ONE talks about him, they're actually ignoring the elephant in the room it's genuinely upsetting. and kusakabe's going 'lmao gojo should've executed u' and then the new shadow style??? and simple domain? it's fine if u need to fill some holes but that could've been a couple of lines not an entire chapter when the manga is ending in 2.
i never wanted gojo to come back, always loved the way he went in 236, it felt like such a love letter to the character, bittersweet but satisfying for me; now i FEAR he's coming back and that's not good writing, and if he isn't coming back it's not too much better, higuruma's alive and for what? people saying he never died and that's fine but don't act like gege didn't make it look like he was killed. everything feels useless and pointless, like there's no real feeling nor gravitas
#jjk spoilers#jjk 269#jjk leaks#jjk manga spoilers#utahime and gakuganji and shoko might be cooking smt#but im not loving it tbh#this chapter feels like it could've been an email#i miss shoko#and gege's good writing#you can't pull out this stuff right now gege#don't turn me in to a teenager on tiktok pls#don't meke me say it's ass i beg

i'm sick of this world conveniently ignoring the extreme sufferings and murders of African children and adults in the hands of the powerful Global North. Sudan doesn't matter? Somalia doesn't matter? Ghana doesn't matter? Haiti doesn't matter? Congo doesn't matter? Why? Just why? Are the people not beautiful enough? Are the children not cute enough? Why is this world least bothered about what happens to the African people? And where the hell are the international animal rights organisations of the Global North when elephants and rhinos in Africa are culled to feed the starving population in drought-prone African countries?

“always an angel, never a god” and why it only works with gojo, not geto
ft. gojo & geto
Not Strong Enough - boygenius, Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus
The song lyric "always an angel, never a god" from the song Not Strong Enough has been making its rounds on SatoSugu TikTok and I'm here to talk about it (mainly why I think the general interpretation of the line referencing Geto's POV is wrong, and that it only works well with Gojo's POV).
Here is an example of the popular interpretation (Geto's POV):
On an entirely surface level analysis, without any deep-diving or true understanding, this makes sense. Gojo became the strongest and left Geto behind. Geto was strifed with this, knowing it would be impossible to catch up. Therefor, he is the "angel" that can never become a "god"; Geto can never be Gojo. He can't even match him.
This interpretation implies that Geto was jealous of Gojo. Jealous of the power that allowed him to be better than everyone, exercise more curses, and do more right in the world. Jealous that Gojo left him behind. Jealous that Geto can never catch up or be on the same level as Gojo. Jealous of the fact that Gojo got to live a life Geto can't even dream of achieving.
I disagree with this analysis of Geto entirely. To put it simply: it's wrong. The only jealousy Geto felt comes from one of the much more glaring issues I'm about to talk about. Geto's problems never came from Gojo. It all has to do with curses, depression, and jujutsu society, not the fact that he and Gojo have differing power levels.
Geto is special-grade sorcerer. Need I remind you that, before the Culling Games revived hundreds of sorcerers, there were only four special-grade sorcerers in jujutsu society. Yuki Tsukumo, Okkotsu Yuuta, Gojo Satoru, and Geto Suguru. Sure, you can make the argument that Gojo far surpasses everyone else on this list, but that's not the point. The problem here, in relation to Geto's internal conflict, is that both he and Gojo are too strong. Shoko's cursed technique makes it so she doesn't go on solo missions. After Gojo ascended in Hidden Inventory, jujutsu society deemed that Gojo no longer needed to, nor should, work with a partner. With Shoko out for the count, that meant Geto was also stuck fighting alone. He felt like he was drifting away from his friends, and instead of reaching out, he was worsening it by pushing them further and further away and refusing to let them in on his struggles.
Cursed Spirit Manipulation. As I've stated, Geto's strong, and this is mainly due to his cursed technique. He has said on numerous occasions that swallowing curses is horrible. "The taste of a cursed spirit that no one else knows... like swallowing whole a cloth that was used to wipe up vomit...". Even this quote alone exemplifies how ostracizing this experience was for Geto, and he'd already ingested hundreds, if not thousands, of cursed spirits at this point. No one else can understand him. No one else can understand how much of a toll this takes on his psyche. It's clear why he was pushing people away. He never felt that they could share his burden.
His gradual development of depression. Geto sunk away from his friends as they were put on more solo missions. I can't reinstate this enough: his mental condition worsened every day, and he turned to no one but himself. He felt as though he was climbing a grueling, tall mountain with the pointed summit obscured by clouds. This isn't an analysis based solely on dialogue, either; physically, he was drawn with slouches, eyebags, a quiet demeanor, taking long pauses to do something as simply as lift his gaze, as though that takes his body too much energy to complete. He was severely depressed and utterly alone.
The inherit flaw of jujutsu society. Alone, depressed, and fighting the never-ending battle, Geto confronted the elephant in society that everyone ignores: it will never stop. Humans have negative emotions. These normal people, the majority of humanity, cannot fight the curses they create with their negativity. It's inevitable. Only people that can see curses and have cursed energy can deal with this problem. There is only one way to fix this, so Geto would never have to swallow another curse again, so he can be friends with the people he loves -- turn everyone into a sorcerer, and kill them if they don't comply.
This is Geto's character. Gojo is in it very little, because you know why? Gojo was never the problem. Gojo was just another knight being used to capture pawns by the higher-ups of jujutsu society, but never to checkmate the king. Geto's infamous line "Are you the strongest because you're Gojo Satoru, or are you Gojo Satoru because you're the strongest?" has nothing to do with jealousy. In fact, Geto felt quite the opposite. He saw the Gojo for what he was (what I just mentioned), and felt his hatred for society rear it's head. He was seeing his best friend be used, and he wanted nothing more than to end both of their sufferings. I do believe that people comparing "always an angel, never a god" to Geto & his strife with Gojo is a consequence of people misunderstanding the aforementioned "Are you... the strongest?" line. He never wanted to be as powerful as Gojo. He wanted them to be happy. And they could never have been that in jujutsu society.
Now. Here's where this essay gets BETTER. Because I am going to tell you why I think this fits Gojo much better than it would ever fit Geto. And you're probably thinking: "But Gojo is a god. He ascended and became the Honored One." Yeah, he did that, and he said that, but Gojo also said he would win. And he didn't. So. His words are worth nothing to me. Let's take a deep dive into Gojo's POV:
Before I get in further, this interpretation is not of Gojo believing that Geto is the god, the being higher than Gojo, because, while there is merit to the interpretation, that's not what I'm going for. This analysis is about Gojo and a reflection upon himself and jujutsu society, not necessarily comparing himself to Geto.
To me, this is a much better interpretation of this lyric. We all know Gojo is better than everyone else. The narrator of Jujutsu Kaisen will explain someone's ability, say they are the best in an aspect, then say "except for Gojo Satoru, of course." Gojo is simply better. I know this, and that is exactly the point I'm going to make using this song lyric.
Gojo is the Honored One. He's better, he's faster, he's smarter, he's stronger. In theory, there is no limit to his power. As Geto said during the KFC break-up, Gojo could achieve the goal that he claims is impossible for others - he could kill all of humanity, or force them to become sorcerers. Everybody knows he is stronger. Everybody knows that he can do whatever he wants, and if he wanted, he can force other people to do what he wants, too. But in reality, he can't.
Corruptness of jujutsu society and the exploitation of love. The problem with Gojo is that he has two enemies: 1. The higher-ups. No matter what, no matter how hard he fights, jujutsu society has placed a shackle over him. If he wants to save those he loves, he has to operate within those bonds of society. But yet, the higher-ups hate him. They hate that he doesn't respect those weaker than him. They hate his power. They see him as a threat that must be contained. So they contain him. They put the ones he loves into precarious situations that force his hand. In his effort to work against the higher-ups, he is forced to work within their bounds, too. There is no winning. Gojo once said, "Love is the most twisted curse of them all." He knows this because he has experienced it. The ten years he and Geto were separated was because of the chains of jujutsu society. What is a god, if he is strapped to the mortal plane? What is a god, if he has no control over his position on the chess table?
Those that don't wish to be saved. Gojo's second enemy: the human psyche. To put it simply, if they don't want to be saved, then Gojo cannot save them. This is what happened with Geto. Geto became depressed, and he pushed Gojo away, and there was nothing Gojo could have done. It isn't any more complicated than that. A god could save the ones he loved. Gojo is no god. He is an angel. His hands are tied behind his back, and all he can do is watch as the one he loved was stripped away from him.
Gojo is always the angel, never the god. He is a responsive unit to the ones above him, and an observer of those that have turned away from him. In truth, despite the popular belief of other characters, he cannot force anyone to do anything. Physical power can only go so far. There is a limit to limitless. An angel can have limitless power, but it can't use all of it unless comanded.
Conclusion: This is going to be hard for you to hear, but I really need to say it. Not every popular audio or emotional quote can fit your fav. I know. I know it hurts. It's the toughest pill to swallow. I, too, force my favs into songs that don't fit them. But we need to leave SatoSugu alone with this one unless it's done right. There are other parts of this song that REALLY fit Geto well: "Every clock's a different time. It would only take the energy fix it." ; "I don't know why I am the way I am." ; "I tried, I can't stop staring at the ceiling fan and spinning out about things that haven't happened." Then there's this line that fits the ship really well: "Skip the exit to our old street and go home. Go home alone." Here is an example because this is actually such a banger lyric:
The accompanying trend: "Know it's for the better // All I wanted was you" fits them. So much better. I also think that "always an angel, never a god" fits a lot of other JJK duos, just not SatoSugu. It works with Mai and Maki especially well.
Conclusion Part 2: WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS PEOPLE. SatoSugu is heart-wrenching. Keep making it heart-wrenching.

Ok that's it, this manga reread is showing hints from even the first volume, and I'm going to use early jjk panels to predict what's next. (so far there are 262 chapters out, I'm sharing panels leading up to the exchange event, but there are spoilers in my added text).
There will be more added later bc I can think of things from shibuya for example that rly spelled out the future and we just. Didn't notice. But for the sake of going in order...
First, we get this. Mummy Sukuna, arms around Yuuji, but Megumi's frogs. One has Sukuna's forehead mark (which is such a big hint why didn't I think that he could survive as sukuna's vessel). Though they are the same size, only the one on top looks like it's from bottomless well, the extended technique - it's interesting bc Sukuna is often referred to as "the fallen one", and the angel character we meet in the culling games.
Next, watching movies.
This drives me insane bc it EVEN SAYS SPOILERS but Gojo was prophecying his own death. He's called annoying more than any character, even in the author's notes.
Also (I'm not sure if this was just a translation coincidence) but Gojo telling Yuuji to stay frosty, and the theory that his domain will be like dry ice or a freezer or something. Personally I think that's too similar to Uraume, and Yuuji would have been a firefighter if he weren't a sorcerer, bc he was always the opposite of Sukuna. So I think his domain would be more like water.
To support my theory, Max Elephant deals with water and its colors match Yuuji. Also the symbolism of water in Jujutsu Kaisen makes sense to me here. Yuuji's been through a lot and he's spitting it back out. Dude began the series with very little cursed energy and he's been through a lot.
I said before that Yuuji is the ring bearer, and to be that is to be alone. But reading this panel again showed me that it's the scene where Frodo is calling for Sam.
And recently in the Manga, Yuuji was calling for anyone.
And then Gojo (or not) showed up when he wasn't expecting it.
Also Yuuji learning so many things quickly at this point kakxnxbkakdk
Also this panel hit me - - the three who were left in the fight against Sukuna.

Both governments said the culls would help alleviate the impacts of the region’s worst drought in 100 years.. But it’s triggered a fierce argument. Conservationists have criticized the cullings as cruel and short-termist, setting a dangerous precedent.”

Kabir The Great Mystic: Spiritual and Ethical Teachings - Spiritual Awakening Radio - Sant Mat Satsang Podcasts
Kabir, the "Rumi" of India, one of the greatest Saints, Poets, and Spiritual Masters in the history of the world! Selections: Says Kabir: "Kal (time, ego, limited mental perception) has entangled people in illusions to such an extent that they have totally forgotten their Real Home." "Meditation will remove all your burdens; meditation upon Ram's [God's] name will become your support." "One after another, many births I took; many paths I followed to escape this relentless cycle. Only when I made my mind still did I obtain the state of lasting repose." "Just as the lotus blooms after getting the light of the sun, in the same way the sufferings of the souls from ages and ages are finished after having darshan [vision] of Sat Purush [True Eternal Being, God]." The Bijak is a key scripture of the Kabir tradition: "Just as a coded document shows the way to a Hidden Treasure, just so this bijak shows the way to realize the soul; it teaches such words to the soul but there is seldom anyone to understand them." "Death enshrouds the whole world, including all the superstitious wise-men. Only those will be freed who find the Path of Love." (Satguru Kabir)

Namibia plans to cull 723 wild animals, including 83 elephants, and to distribute the meat to people struggling to feed themselves because of a severe drought across southern Africa, the environment ministry said.
The cull will take place in parks and communal areas where authorities believe animal numbers exceed available grazing land and water supplies, it said in a statement issued on Monday.
The country also plans to cull 30 hippos and 60 buffalo, as well as 50 impala, 100 blue wildebeest, 300 zebra and 100 eland.
Southern Africa is facing its worst drought in decades, with Namibia having exhausted 84% of its food reserves last month, according to the United Nations. Nearly half of Namibia’s population is expected to experience high levels of food insecurity in the coming months.
With such a severe drought, human-wildlife conflicts are expected to increase if the authorities do not intervene, the environment ministry said.
“To this effect, 83 elephants from identified conflict areas will be culled, (and) meat will be allocated to the drought relief programme,” it said.
One hundred and fifty-seven animals have already been hunted by professional hunters and companies contracted by the government, yielding more than 56,800 kilograms of meat.
“This exercise in necessary and is in line with our constitutional mandate where our natural resources are used for the benefit of Namibian citizens,” the environment ministry said.
More than 200,000 elephants are estimated to live in a conservation area spread over five southern African countries - Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Angola and Namibia - making the region home to one of the largest elephant populations worldwide.
Hundreds of elephants died in Botswana and Zimbabwe last year because of drought.
Earlier this year Botswana threatened to send 20,000 elephants to Germany, escalating an ongoing row over the import of hunting trophies.
The dispute began when Germany’s environment ministry, citing concerns about poaching, suggested imposing stricter limits on the import of hunting trophies. Germany is the EU’s chief importer of African elephant trophies, according to a 2021 report by the Humane Society International.
Botswana’s president Mokgweetsi Masisi told Bild that further restrictions on hunting would impoverish the African nation due to an explosion in the number of elephants.
Germans should “live together with the animals, in the way you are trying to tell us to”, he told the German daily.
“This is not a joke,” Mr Masisi added.

by Danez Smith from mizna.org
I was born a black woman and now I am become a Palestinian against the relentless laughter of evil there is less and less living room and where are my loved ones?
— June Jordan, “Moving towards Home”
he calls them “the children of darkness” and being one myself— having been plucked from between stars, having been born again in the dark, dark bellies of those ship, delivered as cargo onto the suffocating light of america—i find my kin.
human animals he called them, and having been ape, been dog, been mongrel, cattled and culled, i knew who was my brother.
this late in empire, late meaning near its end not near its completion, let my language be clear and dangerous as water. let my mind’s tongue move sound, be exact with where venom is intended and where light sought.
animals. he called them animals.
Free Palestine said the birds Free Palestine said the fish Free Palestine said the mice Free Palestine said the mountain lions Free Palestine said the cattle Free Palestine said the wolves Free Palestine said the horses Free Palestine said the bats Free Palestine said the elephants Free Palestine said the deer Free Palestine said the squirrels Free Palestine said the bears Free Palestine said the wildebeests Free Palestine said the geckos Free Palestine said the snakes Free Palestine said the dogs & cats Free Palestine said the bees Free Palestine said the spiders Free Palestine said the ants Free Palestine said the rhinoceros Free Palestine the birds again
