I remember last year you talked about Shirou's character, and you mentioned that with his appearance in Adventures, his character could change now that we have a post F/SN Shirou

Now that you have finished Adventures, what did it add to Shirou's character?

Adventures Shirou is kinda different but isn't. He feels like a Shirou who read my post about Shirou. A lot more self-aware of how much of his story is about Kiritsugu and what made Kiritsugu's story work.

He didn't exactly exactly complete his self-search in any way, but he has concretely formed opinions, in a way I feel not even Archer did. He's firm in his belief that Kiritsugu was a hero, but is capable of disagreeing with the actual guy about what made him one. He's steadfast in not believing the concept of necessary sacrifice in any level. He learned to see the concept of an ally of justice and of justice itself as separate things and identity himself as the former.

I think that last one is the important part. Fate Shirou is a pure dreamer. UBW Shirou is a moderate dreamer. HF chose happiness over being a dreamer. And now Elmo Shirou is not a dreamer because he learned he feels more comfortable and fulfilled in a support role to the real dreamers. He's as enamored with grandiose dreams as Fate Shirou, but prefers to watch them from the sidelines. Perhaps that's an angle we could only get from a story that makes Shirou not the protagonist.

Wasn't Shiro not supposed to be able to project divine weapons with the exception of Excalibur and Avalon under certain circumstances? Why can you now project Vajra?

The only place that says Shirou can't project divine weapons is the same place that says he kinda can actually. Nasu's exact answer is Complete Material 3 is "It's impossible to replicate Divine Weapons like Ea or Excalibur, but he might have a few downgraded Noble Phantasms with similar capabilities in his stock."

Fate/stay night itself already has a scene where Archer looks at Excalibur and says something like "No way I can perfectly replicate it but I can make something truly similar". But he doesn't because he says the cost would kill him (note that he says this while his contract with Rin is severed, that's probably an important conditional). This line is often taken as a bluff to make Saber not intervene in his fight, but it feels in line with what Heaven's Feel and Elmo show.
