I used so many different materials for this lol 3 different clays and 14+ diff paints, there's even a lil tea light in there~
Very pleased with how it turned out!

idk why but hearing the abyss lector and above enemies run around
and spit these 'holy declaration' phrases while raining abyssal hell on me is so metal. love it. adds to the horror of it all.
maybe I just love the horror priest concept a lot.

arranged marriage with ayato
⋆❀ — includes: ayato x fem! reader
⋆❀ — content: arranged marriage, kokomi's little sister! reader, angst, hurt/comfort, ayato is rude, ayato is bad at feelings, thoma is a sweetheart, traditions and rules, high expectations, conflict, fluff at the end, lots of water allegories, maybe a little to poetic, sfw
⋆❀ — a/n: hello everyone long time not seen, but i am back and will be writing more here! so i always love arranged marriages more if they are traditional, i try to investigate the use of japanese words the best i can but if i make a mistake feel free to correct me.
⋆❀ — arranged marries series: alhaitham | tartaglia | diluc
⋆❀˖°·࿐ ࿔˚ ayato
the strong sound of the rain lets you clear your mind and emotions a little, and even it makes you feel comfortable, it’s like the weather has decided to match your emotions, so you walk, walk to the middle of the storm, walk in the heavy rain trying to watch away all the feelings and emotions, trying to watch them and leave them behind, leave them behind as are you now leaving this house, this life, and this marriage.
the arranged marriage with the head of the yashiro commission, kamisato ayato, was one of a show, a show of peace, a show of unity and a new beginning of relations between inazuma and ekanomiya, a marriage between one of the sangonomiya clan and one of the sanbugyou, to consolidate the peace between the two new lands, in this way, you took the responsibility, your big sister kokomi had always shouldered the heavy responsibilities alone if you could help her in something you would do, so you accepted and travelled to inazuma and married commissioner kamisato ayato, and you promised to your sister that you will be fine, in reality, you believed that you will be fine, you wanted this to work out. and maybe you were being naive, or maybe you are just weak but now you are walking in a storm hopping to get away, and as you walk you try to leave all the memories behind.
the day of the wedding was wrapped in expectation and solemnity, the gardens of the kamisato state were decorated with flowers and symbols that represent the honour of the union of ekanomiya and inazuma. the ceremony was simple and formal it was what it had to be. you remember your first big impression of ayato, cordial, charismatic, you could say charming, so you smiled, thinking that this could work better than you first thought. but when the ceremony ends and the night comes is a shift of reality, his attitude distant and cold, and you feel a gap between the two, but you try to understand.
the night came and your mind went to the room, you were nervous but you thought it would be a good chance to talk without people, get to know each other a little more, and maybe begin a friendship in the same way. so when the housekeeper of the kamisato clan guides you through hallways, surprise and confusion fill your thoughts as you take notice that your room is located apart from the main rooms. you didn't want to overthink things, but a sense of isolation starts to feel in your chest.
days passed, but the feeling grew bigger, you felt lost, but trying to take control you started to explore the new house, you were surrounded by strangers but that was a thing you thought you could change. and in the reflection of your thoughts you came to realise some things, one, the kamisato clan is always busy, the servants, ayaka, thoma and ayato are always working, two, ayato is keeping his distance from you, three, even if you are now a kamisato, you don't know what are you role or work in this house.
you were in limbo, with a clear role or purpose in your new life, you are the kamisato ojousama, but is only in word, in reality, it is almost like you are an object a decoration, just a thing that doesn't even have a purpose and is just there.
time goes by, and the rain gets heavier as the short memories started, you really never had a place here, it was clear since that afternoon that you walked into the office of your husband with nervousness and determination, and you really tried to integrate yourself in the kamisato clan.
“shujinsama” your voice is timid, his gaze rested on you, and although his expression was serene, you could see the trace of fatigue in his eyes. “yes, tsuma?” even in his soft voice, you could feel the distant formality that has characterized his interaction with you. his focus went back to the papers in front of him as you started to talk “i would like to help in the next event, maybe i could be in charge or something, or help in…” your voice stops as ayato eyes rest shortly on you and get back to his papers “is not necessary, all the events are managed fine by the kamisato clan, you don't need to worry about that things”
his voice was calm but your chest hurt with his words, even with that you tried again “i really wish to help in some capacity and be more involved” you don't know why but at that moment a tear slid down your face.
silence fell between the two, as your tears slowly fell. ayato watched you, and for a moment, you saw a shadow of something beyond his facade of formality. but in the blink of an eye, his expression hardened again “ayaka is the one in charge, you are not needed” that was the first time you cried for his words.
you remember how thoma found you crying, not noticing his presence in your room as he brought you some tea, he was warm, and his words were warm, but you knew that he had a role, and you never would want to tear him from his position in the clan, so even there you were alone. and even if you are torn inside, you tried to believe in his words, in that it was only a question of time.
for some time you tried to convince yourself that you would find a hold in this place, but is like destiny was laughing in your face, that was today, maybe yesterday, here all things have protocols, and without guidance, is difficult to not make errors. the last thing you remember before just taking a bag and getting out, was the cold eyes and cold words of ayato “your mistakes shows your negligence” you tried to control yourself, now your place “it was involuntary, i was just trying too…” but his worlds felt like knives it was confusing but you remember he saying things about responsibility, about your place, about you need to show your worth
so you try to get out, you come to a realization, even if you share the family name, you are not part of his family, even if you have taken his last name you are not part of the clan and you will never be, even if you are now a kamisato in law or paper, you realize that is not enough, there is a wall, the rain falls and in a strange way, the coldness and harshness recomforts you, without a plan you are walking away.
"what do you think you are doing" a voice stops you, clear and loud, even in the middle of the storm, his voice is a bigger tempest to come, you can find more words, but you don't want to fight more, you never were a warrior, you never consider yourself strong and you don't want to be "going away". his voice is closer like a hurricane going your way "i ask again, what do you think you are doing?" you are in the eye of the storm "going away!, ayato i can take it anymore, i can't support a minute more” you are not looking at him, but hi looking at you his voice strong like always "and you think escaping is a solution? escaping your responsibilities here?"
your tears flow with the rain, the fear, the pain, the sadness and the desesperación flow inside you like a wave of emotions that they drag more and more into the sea, and all you can feel are those negative emotions, hoping to be washed away on a shore.
the image of you can escape ayato eyes, his eyes fixed on you watching you, but in reality, seeing you for the first time. he sees you crumble, the intensity of your crying is even stronger than the rain, all the emotions in the wave that drags you more and more inside the sea drowning you, and you can't breath, all the weight of your emotions dragging you down. as more tears fall from your eyes, ayato sees how your breath runs out of air, your breathing more agitated and difficult. almost like you are drowning. he sees how thoma gets to you, face full of worry "breathe slowly, here with me..."
ayato takes his distance but doesn't leave, his eyes fixed on your trembling body, your reaction taking a toll on him, you can feel his gaze, his eyes, and you can feel him coming to you"i am sorry" "never have the intention to take you to this point, i… i should have managed things in a different way” but you feel your mind foggy like its an illusion, the rain pours strong over you, and your heart pours inside of you.
you don't remember at what moment, you are taken inside the house, you don't remember at what moment you enter the bath, but now you are here surrounded by warm water and vapour, pleasant scents of lavender and rose, the room is lith in dim light, and the sound of rain continues outside.
and then the door opens, his eyes fall on you surrounded by water and spume, his eyes observe you, seeing you, he gets close, with slow and measured movements, ayato kneels next to the bathtub, is all silence only the rain until his voice breaks the silence “i have been a stupid fool, i have been also a despicable man, i made things difficult to you, and i have made you cry” his eyes fixated in you “i know apologies are not enough, but i will say sorry, and you have the right of not trusting in me, but seeing you cry like that… i don't want to make cry anymore”
lost for words you look at him trying to form a sentence but the only thing you can say is “thanks” ayato smiles at you, and it seems like a real smile “i know I've made mistakes, that i have hurt you, and sorry is not enough, but if you are willing to give me a chance, to amend, i will change, i promise you will not longer feel trapped or unhappy”
you can only nod, this is all you wanted an opportunity, a chance, an open door, ayato hand travels slowly to your check, caressing your face, and it feels warmer than the water, his eyes are soft, his smile is soft, and he rolls up his sleeves “can i?” you nod even if you don't understand his hands travel to your hair and he starts to wash it “ayato?” your voice is soft and he smiles to you “i promise i will make the things right”

theorizing about genshin once again.
the puzzle that is only found in watatsumi island that I found in the chasm made the dots connected for me.
the architecture of every ancient ruins is the same. but especially, the chasm and ekanomiya are so connected! not only architecture. same feeling. thousands years abandoned. same enemies. in there, the Greeks for the lack of actual in game name, lived. and some surfaced in watatsumi, some turned into those slow but sturdy enemies. in the chasm they are especiay talkative.
and they talk like the abyss order founder Mr Albrecht, meaning they hate the Celestia for something that befallen them.
after one of world quests we find the door to khaenriah. very deep underground in the desert. with the same architecture once again.
it was also perplexing to me how ruin machines found way to inazuma. I mean, it's very far away. and there's almost no ruin guards there.
but they also show up in the chasm.
I think khaenriah didn't develop ruin machines from scratch. they continued from their Greek predecessors, who were making the cube ruin machines.
all of the underground wherever it is, is soaked with defilement. and archons, as we found out, during the cataclysm mostly protected citizens from the other world monsters pouring in.
maybe it wasn't Celestia that cursed them. maybe it was the effect of the abyss.
the inverted statue was also in similar ruins. also underground.
I don't know. I don't know how to make it into coherent storyline. but I'm seeing the patterns that before I thought was just lazy game design.

Genshin Impact AU? Would Twins Satoru and Shiki get put in the roles of Aether and Lumine? Would Geto also show up here and in what role? I vote for Amber!Geto because Baron Bunny is basically Amber's shiki'd curse spirit (lol)
Which would cause more chaos being left to their devices for 500 years???? Raging cursed spirit(?) Shiki or OP chaos gremlin Satoru
Or OR!!! The same age Shiki and Satoru fuck around with their curse techniques and oopsie themselves into Teyvat causing general mayhem (just realized this isekai plot works for any crossover and Shiki Satoru pair lmao)
Or OR!!! OR! Nanami and Shiki get the most stressful (for Nanami) vacation possibly in the history of ever. (Since poor Satoru's weekend at Worst Cube's)
I don't think I'd have any of the zenith cast outright replace characters, but AU Satoru and Shiki in Teyvat would certainly result in some very chaotic situations lol.
Nanami vacation... Nanami never got a vacation in canon, did he? Wasn't it part of his last thoughts when his mind was kind of wandering and dissociating a bit, after his near-fatal encounter with Jogo (and subsequently actually-fatal encounter with Mahito). If Nanami lands in Teyvat at least he'd finally get a break from exorcising curses. I didn't play Genshin when Klee's summer islands were a thing, but from what I've heard those were great haha.
Part of me thinks it would be fun if Shiki landed in Khaenri'ah before everything went south for Maximum Chaos, but we don't really know much about what happened there in Genshin lore at all, so. (Shrugs)
Or, if we're going along with Inazuma things for the parallels with Japan... Shiki landing in Inazuma during the time of the Archon War? Shiki getting mistaken for one of the native yokai on the islands? Oh, or maybe Shiki arrives in Inazuma right when the Cataclysm is going on. Or getting mixed up in Tataratsuna events could be fun, too... hm...
I haven't done much Ekanomiya exploring yet but I hear the lore there is really interesting, too.
ANYWAYS we're going to be sitting firmly on this for now because 1) I still have lots of Genshin exploring to do, 2) We're not even far along enough in zenith to be considering these AUs given the [REDACTED] stuff we'd most likely be touching on, and 3) I think I have enough on my plate to be juggling with already lol.
Happy to see that others think a Genshin AU might be fun, though!

I know that this is not an easy question but how would one start to fix genshin? I guess for starters make the game more fun, stuff easier and stop bashing other series for stuff the game itself is doing. Also, actually flesh out the playable characters.
I've been thinking about this one. Naturally this question is going to differ from person to person, but outside of the writing I think the main issues I have with the game are the "casual gameplay" format.
You know, the idea that Genshin is meant to cast as wide a net as possible - it's still accessible to people that just grab an hour here and there rather than really sinking their teeth in. It looks like Breath of the Wild, but all the puzzles are in plain view or glowing so you don't have to look TOO hard to find them. There are dungeons, but they're all really short and uncomplicated with checkpoints every minute in case you need to close the game real quick to get off the train. The items you need to hunt down are marked clearly on the map, they tell you where the bosses are.
The game needs to be, mostly, quick and easy to clear - both for the casuals to play and for the devs to produce. Given the scale and ambition of Genshin's world, it's a real shame that it's like this. Personally, I would've preferred HYV just not cater to casual gamers at all this way to make the exploration a bit meatier. The way the world is set out, it just kinda feels like I'm skimming over the top of the map for the most part. Even when you do go underground, there's nothing really exciting down there - there's never the sense that you're never really going to find anything exciting. No chance I'm going to walk into a room, see a boss I wasn't expecting and freak out, or find a really cool treasure, because the bosses are made to farm and the good treasure is in the gacha. Exploration feels less rewarding when all you're really gonna find are documents with lore.
Exploration in quests is a bit better, depending on the quest, but it's difficult for me to care if they're NPCs. I'd prefer if they used playable characters for things like Sacred Sakura or Golden Sands. There's the sense the world is pretty untouched until you get there, which is bonkers, so I think it'd be cool if the Adventurer's Guild were better integrated into the map. And playable characters were better integrated into the Adventurer's Guild. It'd be cool if, you know, we had a reason to be exploring or getting involved in all these quests beyond "we're part of the guild or we felt like it", and it'd be cool if we had a reason to be in the guild other than "eh, just because." Exploration and the characters we're supposed to care about are just worlds away. The game feels disjointed because of it - some of these exploration quests should be a bigger deal involving more playable characters than just you? Why isn't Albedo a bigger deal in Dragonspine? Why doesn't Kazuha join us in Tatarasuna, or Kokomi in Ekanomiya?
Domains suck and are actively player unfriendly. Trying to keep up with Abyss trivialises the threats in the overworld. I recently started an alt and had a lot of fun running around as Lumine on her own, and it was at that time and that time ONLY that I actually had to think strategically about what I was doing. I enjoyed it immensely. At higher skill levels, just keep a healer and/or a shielder on you and you don't even need to worry about managing health. The balance in this game is whack, and I seriously think Abyss is a major problem. I also don't really love the endless slew of minigames; just find a handful that are fun and popular and expand on them.
And, obviously, the writing, what else can be said about it. It's bad. Needs to be better. Focus on the characters more instead of as an afterthought. Find writers that aren't afraid to write real interpersonal conflict. Stop trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Take some risks with your characterisation. Genshin has this move that I think I'm gonna start calling "the illusion of character development", where characters just talk about how much they've grown from Before, but we never saw Before or the growth happened off-screen. Don't be fooled by this, and get writers that don't employ it. It's a gacha. The characters should be the sell, as well as the focus of their quests.
Personally, I think the game needs a party so that we have characters with ongoing arcs to care about over a long period of time that aren't just, you know, the mute Traveller and Paimon. You could even still keep the gacha, FGO sure does. And man, I wish the Traveller talked more. They have too much character and Lore to stay silent like this. Shut Paimon The Hell Up.
I would like if some of the characters were less boring, too. For a fantasy world, a lot of characters are really mundane. Look, a business owner. Look, a lawyer. Look, a business owner. Look, a chef. A chuuni. A business owner. This is seriously the most down to earth fantasy world I've ever seen, you think I care about Yae's business ventures or Yanfei's lawyering? Show me Xiao's evil god ghosts (alleged) or Diluc's Darknight Heroing (lost: one vigilante, last seen two years ago). I don't ever feel like these characters have much impact on the world or really matter that much beyond what lore they can exposit, except for the Archons and the Fatui.
The cast also gets repetitive. In terms of character beats, Shenhe has major overlap with both Ganyu and Xiao, and we have two vigilantes in Mondstadt. Too many pyro business owners. Too many overworked waifus. YaoYao is ALSO a human girl that hangs out and learns from the Adepti? Whoa, what a coincidence, we have two of those now! And oh man. Powercreep is gonna be a real problem. I recognise the problem is with gacha, but maybe they should release some alts to buy some time while they think of some new ideas...

AWUDHCUDHSH A NICKNAME?!?!?! FOR ME?!?!?!?!?!? confused excited flapping
OHHHH i totally get what you mean about getting so many choices of what to do that it always seems entertaining. there are so many more options for new players than when i started!!! (late 2020)
i respect your opinion on scaramouche so much. he truly did commit all of those atrocities, and it is totally fair to dislike him for them. and, yet, i love him so dearly. i was one of those fans that obsessed over his personality back when we only had one limited-time-event cutscene of him. i also really enjoy how his character has developed over time!!! his new design is such a treat for the eyes.
what’s your favourite nation, if you had to choose?
i love them all so much, but my fondest favourites have to be liyue, then dragonspine, then mondstadt. they’re so nostalgic for me!! i especially adore the Warmth that permeates liyue’s colour palette, especially during the sunset hour. that said, the game’s design quality has improved so much with each nation. sumeru & fontaine are so full of life and detail, it’s wonderful to see!!!
which protagonist did you choose?? i chose aether because i wanted desperately to absorb his gender into my psyche (and i DID!!!), but i *adore* lumine and the minute differences between their expressions & characterization when each protagonist is given different reactions to the same situation, such as in . the four star friendship quests? i forgot the name for them.
faruzan is such an underrated character. i love her so much.
have you played anything in ekanomiya yet??
who’s your favourite archon? i don’t think i could choose aidhdjdh, i love them all in different ways
have a good day!!!
I give everyone nicknames! I refuse to just let someone have their name as my sign off for them unless they’ve asked me to.
Ah, yeah, I only started right before school last summer… late July/early August, I think?
Ha, fair enough!/gen Couple of my moots like him too, which is fine by me.
Oh gosh, idk! I love Mondstadt, feels like home every time I go back, but also. Sumeru. Like. Come on. But also I reeeeaaallllyyt wanna go back to Inazuma and work on it soon, so. Idk 😅😂
The character hangouts! I chose Lumine, but as time as gone on I almost wish I could play as Aether too? Not because I dislike Lumine, but because I can see the personality differences and I’m curious. Also because I ABSOLUTELY HC LUMINE AS THE OLDER ONE AND LISTEN. Listen. If she was the Abyss traveler and I’d chosen Aether I’d feel that as an older sister myself. Which. Saying out loud I can’t get words to work the way I want them to for this but. Ya know?
Nope! Haven’t played there yet, I did just finish Sumeru though. Gotta do the ascension quest. And yes that’s partially because I wanna do Kaveh’s Hangout sooooooo baaadddlllllyyyyyyyy…. And Thoma’s if I can.
Hmm.
Venti with Nahida as a close second, and Zhongli close to that. Can’t say about Furina, I’ve gotten almost zero Fontaine spoilers and I’m keeping it at that, and I’m kinda neutral on Raiden? Although at some point I wanna write a fic with her and Aether having feels together about losing their older sisters.

“Take me with you. For laughs, for luck, for the unknown. Take me with you.” (Koko to Tart, for the funsies? For the exploration? If you want!)
asked from this meme!
"Well, I certainly won't turn down the help, especially from someone who's been guarding this place for so long now. That, and I suspect I can use all the luck I can get." Childe cocks a sideways smile at the Divine Priestess as the whirlpool sings its deceptively quiet roar beneath them.
Another song rises up on its mists as well. Faint. Beckoning. Just a little jarring. He's not sure anyone else can hear it, even the Divine Priestess.
It's not particularly divine music.
He leans over the edge of the great coral that juts out toward the center of Watatsumi, his attention is almost wholly consumed by the vortex below and what it may conceal. Neither Scaramouche nor Signora left behind any reports that even mentioned the place, and he has the feeling that, as focused on the political climate and clashing war efforts as they were, this 'local mythos' slipped beneath their notice.
He can't ignore it even if he tries.
"You called it 'Ekanomiya'. Have you ever been down there yourself? Know anything about what might meet us in the depths?"
#|| a polar star in darkest depths ; ajax#svnsworn#|| svnsworn ; kokomi#|| t ; sun below sea#//did you figure when you sent this that this is the sort of thing you were going to get? >:]#mwahahahaha#he has no Official Reason for going down there#it's more like the reason he's in Fontaine - there's an intimately personal draw that he cannot place and he HAS to check it out

I think it’s really fitting for Scara’s life to end and begin all at once in fire… It rlly subscribes to the whole death and rebirth bit that Inazuma tries to focus on, but never could fully commit to (weak and pathetic btw).
You see it more with Kokomi and the history of the Sangonomiya family. In general, Watatsumi kind of falls into this category of being more Shinto aligned, while mainland Inazuma falls more into a vague general category.. Like the Shinto aspects present there are mostly like aesthetic while Watatsumi and Ekanomiya in general lean more into it. That being said…
Reminds me of the burning of omamori charms and the rebuilding of the Ise shrine every 20 years. It’s all about rebirth through a form of dismantlement or description. I jsut think it’s interesting. I think it took Scara some time to pick up all the pieces of himself, and I don’t think all of them were there to be found, but with Nahida and the traveler I think he was able to make something of himself again. I just think it’s Inchresting. I’m probably reading too much into it, but the fact that he wore all white till the fire and then dressed in darker colors like ash, and has now returned to lighter colors like blue and green makes me think to a degree that maybe I am not making it too deep

"Are you familiar with the idea of how pain is the most sensitive to the truth? How it's one concept that always leaves a trail in either a person or Teyvat at large."
Thoma isn't ignorant to how many sayings he's tucked under his belt at this point.
"It can be dressed up however it wish, hidden in the deepest roots of creation itself, but find one moment where it has a mirror, and it'll always give you a lead to that history, whether the person or place enduring wishes for it or not." In many ways it's cruel if used with malice.
On another? He has a different idea tucked in a more hopeful view.
"Its to make sure that very truth can never be snuffed out. While it may be a dangerous path, it's type of danger that's fixed with certainty."
