the latter person also wrote a huge thinkpiece article about how "transemasculation" is better theory than transandrophobia because they think that addressing that society largely does not treat trans men as men is trans men doing a disservice to themselves by "misgendering themselves" and also that transmasc theory needs to address that trans men are privileged over cis women (???) and all transmasc oppression is rooted in the exact same type of misogyny as calling a cis man a homophobic slur for painting his nails and it was. distressingly stupid
And that, anon, is why I dislike her! I had no idea she ever talked about Hinduism at all so her acting like a trans woman talking about a trans(radical)feminist book and tagging the author's name was Operation Freakout was so out of left field. Like, settle down Paulette, just because you gave trans radical feminism a name doesn't mean I hate you nearly as much as apricot-aligator.*
Such an amazing case of projection. I truly can't emphasize how unhinged it is that she had that screenshot of me mentioning Ekadashi months ago. I never talk about Hinduism on here except that and I think one other time, plus a few anons responding to those. It was untagged, too! She had to have seen it at the time and been seething about it ever since. Her complex with the religion she was raised with is depressing but not my problem and if she tries to make it my problem I'm just going to laugh at her.
*although I do also just think it's fun to keep saying "apricot-aligator" **
**btw apricot if you read this and you wanna get on my case about me being obsessed with you feel free to let me know when you've gone a day without bitching about the evils of trans men

Why Lord Vishnu sleeps for 4 months?
Lord Vishnu sleeps for four months on Devshayani Ekadashi of Ashadh month. During which no auspicious work is done in Hinduism. Like marriage, birth ceremony, sacred thread ceremony, house warming and shaving etc. The month in which Lord Vishnu is in deep sleep is called Chaturmas.
From this day all the work of running the universe is removed from the shoulders of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva takes over his work. In simple words, Lord Vishnu goes to Patal Lok for these four months. And the entire work of creation goes into the hands of Lord Shiva.
According to Scriptures, once a king named Bali had captured all the three worlds. Then Indradev approached Lord Vishnu for help. On which Lord Vishnu took an incarnation named Vamana. And after taking the Vamana avatar, Lord Vishnu came in the guise of a Brahmin to King Bali to beg for alms.
And asked for three steps in charity. During this, Vishnu ji measured the earth and the sky in just two steps. After this Vishnu ji asked King Bali where he should take his third step. On which King Bali asked him to put the third step on King Bali's head.
After which all the pride of King Bali was shattered and due to the kindness and charitable nature of King Bali, Lord Vishnu asked King Bali to ask for a boon. After this, King Bali asked Lord Vishnu to return to Patal Lok.
During this, Lord Vishnu told King Bali that he would stay in Patal Lok from Devshayani Ekadashi of Shukla month of Ashadha to Devuthani Ekadashi of Shukla month of Kartik. Since then, every year in the month of Ashadh, Lord Vishnu goes to Chirnidra from Devshayani Ekadashi and no religious work is done during this time.

Shri Suta Goswami said, "Oh sages, let me offer my humble and respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Lord Hari, Bhagavan Shri Krishna, the son of Devaki and Vasudeva, by whose mercy I can describe the fast day that removes all kinds of sins. It was to the devoted Yudhishthira that Lord Krishna glorified the twenty-four primary Ekadashis, which destroy sin, and now I shall recount one of those narrations to you. Great-learned sages have selected these twenty-four narrations from the eighteen Puranas, for they are truly sublime. Yudhishthira Maharaja said, "Oh Lord Krishna, Oh Vasudeva, please accept my humble obeisances. Please describe to me the Ekadashi that occurs during the light part of the month of Chaitra [March-April]. What is its name, and what are its glories?" Lord Shri Krishna replied, "Oh Yudhishthira, please listen to Me attentively as I relate the ancient history of this sacred Ekadashi, a history Vasishtha Muni once related to King Dilipa, the great-grandfather of Lord Ramachandra. King Dilipa asked the great sage Vasishtha, "Oh wise brahmana, I wish to hear about the Ekadashi that comes during the light part of the month of Chaitra. Please describe it to me." Vasishtha Muni replied, "Oh king, your inquiry is glories. Gladly shall I tell you what you wish to know. The Ekadashi that occurs during the light fortnight of Chaitra is named Kamada Ekadashi. It consumes all sins, as a forest fire consumes a supply of dry firewood. It is very purifying, and it bestows the highest merit upon one who faithfully observes it. Oh king, now hear an ancient history which is so meritorious that it removes all one's sins simply by being heard. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqkAwwEIA13/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Mythological story of Bhishma Dwadashi
🌞⛅🔹🌹✍ According to the popular story about Bhishma Dwadashi,
King Shantanu's queen Ganga gave birth to a son named Devavrata and after his birth Ganga left Shantanu because she had promised so. Shantanu started feeling sad in the separation of Ganga.
👉📌✍But after some time, Shantanu sits in the boat of a girl named Matsya Gandha to cross the river Ganga and gets fascinated by her beauty.
👉📌✍King Shantanu goes to the girl's father and proposes to marry his daughter. But Matsya Gandha's father puts a condition before King Shantanu that only the child born to his daughter will become the heir to the Hastinapur kingdom, only then this marriage can take place. This (Matsya Gandha) later became famous as Satyavati.
👉📌✍King Shantanu refuses to accept this condition, but he starts worrying. When Devvrat comes to know the reason for his father's worry, he takes a vow in front of his father to remain unmarried throughout his life. Hearing this vow of his son, King Shantanu gives him the boon of Iccha Mrityu. Due to this vow, Devvrat became famous as Bhishma Pitamah.
👉📌✍When the war of Mahabharata takes place, Bhishma Pitamah is fighting the war on behalf of the Kauravas and the Kauravas start winning due to Bhishma Pitamah's war skills, then Lord Krishna plays a trick and makes Shikhandi stand in front of him in the war. Bhishma gives up his weapons in the battlefield as he did not raise his weapon against Shikhandi as per his vow. Due to which other warriors start showering arrows on him as soon as they get the opportunity. This great warrior of Mahabharata slept on a bed of arrows.
👉📌✍That is why it is said that according to classical opinion, Bhishma did not give up his life because the Sun was in the southern direction and he gave up his mortal body when the Sun was in the northern direction. He gave up his life on Ashtami. The Dwadashi date of Magh month has been fixed for his worship, that is why this date is called Bhishma Dwadashi. God had told this fast to Bhishma Pitamah and he followed this fast, due to which it was named Bhishma Dwadashi.
👉📌✍This fast is observed on Dwadashi, the day after Ekadashi. This fast eradicates all diseases. By this fasting, all sins are destroyed and man gets infallible results.

Saphala Ekadashi is a sacred day observed on the 11th day of the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon) in the month of Paush. Devotees fast and pray to Lord Vishnu, seeking his blessings for success, happiness, and spiritual growth.
The word "Saphala" means success, making this day special for overcoming challenges and fulfilling dreams. People visit temples, chant Vishnu's names, and read holy scriptures to purify their hearts and minds. Observing this Ekadashi is believed to remove sins and bring peace and prosperity. It’s a day to connect with devotion and lead a meaningful, blessed life. 🙏✨

KavirDev (Supreme God Kabir) appears in this world to explain true spiritual knowledge to the devotee society. At that time, He comes while wearing another bodylike cloth over His radiant body. He performs a divine act by living a life of a common man for a few days and brings to light the knowledge for attaining (him) the Supreme God.
