Richard Speight Jr (Skip Muck) Owen Ross Interview: Funny moments/anecdotes.
Boot Camp:
He "spent every waking moment" with Scott Grimes (Malarkey).
Dale Dye chewed out the whole battalion for reporting their injuries to production. Richard turned to Scott during this and said "Man Captain Dye is really getting it from the rear." (This was his favourite memory from boot camp) (Dye always referred to the production team as the rear or battalion HQ.)
Still calls Peter Youngblood "Shifty".
Filming:
The actors did all there own stunts. The mortar squad actually set up the morters on set.
The Crossroads scene in Holland, where Skip hits Penkala with a spoon, wasn't scripted. "Me just bugging the living crap out of Tim Matthews." (I don't remember this scene: my sign to rewatched the series)
The celebration after they received their jump wings was originally longer. (They need to release all these deleted scenes).
They dressed in a tent every morning and marched down to set like soliders.
"Nine months into the thing no one knew who the hell they were."
The Parasites
Micheal Cudlitz didn't lie. Richard got a parasite infection TWICE. He described the set as "not the cleanest environment."
Noel Hemmings (Charles Grant) also got the famous parasites.
Richard said he lost so much weight filming that when he returned home his friends assumed he'd developed a "heroin habit."
I paused to laugh at this:
Eion Bailey (Webster) lit his jump boots on fire after filming. (This has to be the most David Webster thing I have ever heard. The Dramatics.)
Since the show:
He still meets up with Scott Grimes and Tim Matthews.
He got to keep his whole costume. (I think he deserved it)
He's only ever watched the series once. "Was so emotionally intense."
Honestly, I feel like all the actors are mildly traumatised. It honestly sounds so intense and then the pressure of portraying an actual person as well.

Something I found interesting from the interview Damian Lewis did on Ross Owen Show in 2011:
Damian flew to LA for the final audition and read with Ron Livingston and Tom Hanks.
Damian said the 10-day bootcamp was the most schizophrenic experience he ever had. They stayed in character for the whole time and it was like a psychological experiment. Although they were just actors they oddly became the men. He said if there were psychologists at the bootcamp they probably would need to sit at their couch for 2 years to be shaken out.
Damian said “a lot of the games and a lot of the group stuff that went on between the men became rank specific very early on. We are so much in character, you know myself and Ron started subconsciously developing our relationship because…” (interrupted) Host: That means Winters and Nixon for those who don’t know.
Damian’s famous “the relationship between Winters and Nixon is a ‘romance of some sort.’”
Eion Bailey visited India because he didn’t have parts while Damian and the others were shooting for Carentan and it was miserable. Bailey got back and was all tanned. (I guess one more reason Web was dissed in The Last Patrol? lol)

Band of Brothers Ages: IRL vs. Actors
Did you know that according to a 1947 study, almost half the men who served in WWII were still under age 26 by the end of the war?
What this is : A (very long) post comparing the ages of the actors in Band of Brothers vs. the IRL figures they are portraying.
Background: Did I need to do this? No. Did anyone ask for this? Also no. Did I do it anyway? Yes.
Disclaimers: This is SUPER approximate for the most part. I based IRL ages off of D-Day unless otherwise noted, and actor ages off of January 1, 2000, the year filming took place (the latter is where the most variation will be because I didn't try to figure out what month filming started). I also didn't fact-check birthdays beyond googling. Most are sourced from the Band of Brothers and Military Wikis on fandom.com, Wikipedia, and IMDb.
I broke them up into rough categories, which are, again, approximate. I know I often forget how young the real life people were here, and this was a good reminder of that. I also found it interesting to see which actors were actually younger than their roles!

re the last post I am fascinated by eion bailey in a very scientific way…first of all why are you as a dead ringer for Superman auditioning for Batman. second of all how does someone so gorgeous that’s a decent if not great actor fail to launch so badly. was it because of mindhunters

𝔽𝕣𝕠𝕞 (2022/3)

Also I'm slowly going through the Ron Livingston diaries for BOB shooting and that moment where "Perconte"* is just absolutely conked out, standing up behind Eion Bailey whose face is the epitome of 'can you believe this shit' is going to stay with me forever and definitely will make an appearance SOMEWHERE in a fic bc it's adorable
*I wanna say Frank DiMaggio but I haven't memorized the actor's name yet oops

Ok I haven't watched band of brothers yet(just getting into fandom in the year of 2023) and I saw a comment under Webster's post saying that he's beautiful but a huge disappointment lol. Did he do something? Cuz I liked him(well yeah the gifs lol) but did he betray someone or smth like that? Thank you! )
WEBSTER IS A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!
Who said that? Well I disagree with this statement but I appreciate that everyone has a right to their own opinion and maybe David Webster isn’t for everyone.
Personally I really like Webster, he’s one of my favourite men of Easy Company. I’m currently rereading his book ‘Parachute Infantry’ which is one of my favourite books written by the men of Easy Company. It definitely worth a read and give you a true insight into what it was like to be a paratrooper in ww2
Webster also never got a promotion and stayed as a Privater throughout the war. This was due to him turning down any promotion he was offered. He believed he was there to do his duty and actively fought in the war, never letting his fellow paratroopers down but didn’t want to volunteer for anything. He fought bravely in Normandy and Holland during Operation Market Garden where he is wounded and doesn’t return to combat until February 1945. Webster spurned promotion, considering himself a chronicler of war above all else.
I understand that after Bastogne Easy Company had been through a very difficult time, and the fact that Webster didn’t come back until after this instead of going AWOL did put a strain on his and his fellow paratroopers relationship. But he does regain the respect of his fellow paratroopers and is with them all the way until the end of the war (having been with the company since Normandy).
I think that Webster is a very interesting character/ man. I think he has a real way with words through his book that truly makes you believe that you’re there with him.
I’m always sad when I think how Webster’s short life comes to an end at the age of 39. I don’t want to spoil the series for you or anything but this is after the war which you don’t see in the series. I feel like Webster had so much more to give this world and he was taken far too soon.
I feel like I can really relate with Webster as I too enjoy English literature. I feel like we would of had some good conversations discussing books we’d read.
Overall, I really like David Webster, I think he’s a great guy and the actor you plays him, Eion Bailey, is very attractive. He has lovely blue eyes and I feel like I could stare at him all day 😂
I hope you find this helpful and I highly recommend you watch the series. It’s an incredibly detailed and well made ww2 series. Feel free to message me/ send more asks about Webster or other characters 😊

Batman Begins - Wikipedia
Cast
Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne / Batman:
A billionaire socialite who, after witnessing his parents' death in a mugging at age 8, travels around the world seven years before returning home to inherit his family company Wayne Enterprises whilst operating at night as a bat-masked vigilante bringing justice upon the criminal underworld of Gotham City. Bale was relatively unknown when cast.[5] Before he was confirmed on September 11, 2003,[6] having expressed interest in the role since Darren Aronofsky was planning his own film adaptation,[7] Eion Bailey, Henry Cavill, Billy Crudup, Hugh Dancy, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joshua Jackson, David Boreanaz, Heath Ledger, who later played the Joker in The Dark Knight, and Cillian Murphy, who would later be cast as Dr. Jonathan Crane / Scarecrow, took interest in it as well.[6][8][9] Josh Hartnett met with Nolan about the role, but decided against pursuing it.[10][11][12] Bale, Bailey and Murphy auditioned using the Batman Forever sonar suit donated by Val Kilmer, but the cape was lost,[13][14][15][16][17] and Amy Adams served as the casting reader for the casting of Bruce Wayne / Batman in a favor to the casting director.[18] Bal
Cillian Murphy as Dr. Jonathan Crane / Scarecrow:
A corrupt psychopharmacologist working as Chief Administrator of Arkham Asylum. A specialist in the psychology of fear, he has secretly created a fear-inducing toxin and plots with Ra's al Ghul to expose the entire Gotham population. Nolan decided against casting an Irish actor like Murphy for Batman, before casting him as Scarecrow.[40] Murphy read numerous comics featuring the Scarecrow and discussed making the character look less theatrical with Nolan. Murphy explained, "I wanted to avoid the Worzel Gummidge look, because he's not a very physically imposing man – he's more interested in the manipulation of the mind and what that can do."
LIAR. Why is Robert Downey Jr lying to make Cillian Murphy look bigger than he's never been? RDJ has never been mentioned once, in connection with Batman Begins and you can't change the Wikipedia page, now, fuckers. We are just SURROUNDED by actors, ruining their own reputations, with enthusiasm, these days.
