Saturn conjunction and karma of the body.
Saturn whenever sits with any planet it makes that planet extremely matured and experienced.
Saturn with Mercury - Good conjunction, native would love to read about history and ancient civilizations.
It gives skin problems, and makes person looks matured. It gives logical thinking and person would be serious in thinking.
Here, Mercury the curious kid has got the support of old and matured planet that would make native orthodox in thinking.
Saturn and venus
Excellent 👌, native would get money from work, Saturn is work and Venus is money 🤑.
In males's chart wife would be matured and working and would be handling lot of responsibilities.
It also means, native would change his work after marriage or after getting partner or after getting work you get married.
Saturn and Mars-
Mars is body, so native would be suffring physically or native would be extremely active physically, native either works on his/her body alot like native would be in sports or gym, or native could be doctor or surgeon. Mars is also property so native would get gain from property as well.
When Venus comes in conjunction with Saturn and Mars it shows you will get Money when you work on your body or someone's body like gym trainer, physiotherapy or even healers or in real estate.
But Saturn Venus Mars is probalmatic for Venus because Venus is sandwiched between two malefics. Native could be agressive and would get problems from females.
Saturn and Jupiter
Excellent 👍 as Jupiter is the life inside you, and now Saturn your karma is with the divine itself.
Native would face lot of hardships in life, Saturn has one work here, to make you matured hence, it puts responsibilities on native at early age, but you won't become diamond till you undergo pressure, so Saturn is making you diamond.
Saturn is delays not denial, have patience you will get everything in life but with lot of lessons.
Saturn moon conjunction,
Alot has been written on this so I will mention something that is unique, it puts pressure on your mind and native would become matured and serious in life, it makes your mother responsible and deep thinker.
Saturn is karma and moon is mind so native would be thinking alot about his/her career.
Native is deep thinker and research oriented.
Native can also work for the masses.
Saturn and Sun
It makes person's father matured in early in life and give him lot of responsibilities.
Native could be also working with the government, or in higher authority.
It give problems in work life.
Saturn Rahu.
If native Rahu is good or working in rahu related jobs like liquor, medicine, drugs, photography, videography, Internet than this combination could give good results.
Or person can work in foreign land or foreign companies.
Native could also work in technical field.
You need to keep your rahu good.
Saturn ketu.
It is only good when working with ketu related jobs like occult, healing, astrology, tarot, secret knowledge, reserch or even in technical field.
Otherwise this combination gives lot of breaks in career, native has to undergo frequent changes in work place as ketu won't let you work in single place.
You need to keep your ketu good, ketu is service so give service to people freely.
Retro Saturn
Quite difficult as Saturn here is going backwards, so Saturn here gives you lot of confusion regarding jobs and works and not let native work in one area, this combination is of pending karmas, so your past life has lot of karmas, which you need to complete in this life, native usually won't work in same field which he/she has studied and chooses entirely different stream
Retro Saturn eighth is good, because Saturn is going backwards to Libra which is exaltation house of Saturn, so person has to take lot of responsibilities in marriage and person slowly starts becoming more matured after marriage or after getting partner.
Retro Saturn has issues with procrastination..

talent is something we can see in plenty of ways within the natal chart — today ill be specifically talking about the placement of the sun and venus !!
the sun pertains to talent that we’re born with or that we adopt as children, talents of ours that receive praise, that we pass down to our kids, star quality, and skills relating to performance
venus pertains to talent that comes to us easily despite not knowing it from birth; that we exercise for the sake of pleasure. talents we have that relate to beauty, the arts, music, wealth, and nature
look at the houses your natal sun and venus occupy, you may find yourself especially gifted in the following areas:
the first house: foresight and critical thinking, task completion, discretion, self-understanding
the second house: money management, financial planning, motivational speaking, advising people
the third house: driving, communicating with others, teaching and instruction, community work

Photo
07/11/2022-Lakeside and home
The Blue Tits are very regular in the garden these days, I don’t recall a period of them coming in so consistently before I enjoyed seeing some in this morning, I took the first picture in this photoset of one. They were around the feeders the same time as Goldfinches, a great rush of bright colour between the two of them which it was so good to have in the garden. Once again after last week on a Monday I saw Meadow Pipits whilst walking down the central path between the fenced off areas, this time getting an exhilarating view of three which came down onto the fence then flew up into a tree. I took the seventh picture in this photoset of two, it is so exciting seeing a bird I see loads elsewhere that I don’t often see at Lakeside. I was thrilled to see two Pied Wagtails very closely on the paths out the front, smashing intimate views of a bird that symbolizes winter for me when they visit the garden so much. I thought I heard some from home today and it was great to see these two flitting around the puddles as I have seen before. Also in the way of little birds today seeing a Goldcrest in trees by Kornwestheim lake at Lakeside was a treat, a cute and somewhat exuberant bird Europe’s smallest which I always like seeing.
In the way of waterbirds; as well as Coots bolstered in numbers a little to the one I’ve been seeing here through the summer and into autumn of late having spread to being on beach lake as well as just Concorde lake Great Crested Grebe had done the same. I saw one on each of these lakes, the one on Concorde that I’ve been seeing on and off for a while I’ve come round to thinking is a young one I believe possibly one of the youngsters born here this year. And the one on beach lake was certainly juvenile which was great to see. I took the ninth picture in this photoset of the one on Concorde lake which I liked seeing. It’s starting to go into those months where many birds are about at Lakeside which does excite me. A Noble False Widow spider was interesting to see in the landing once more before my lunch break.
At Lakeside it was nice to see some pretty flowering by beach lake, dogwood flowers I believe. A great throw back to spring days almost seeing flowering. On my lunch time walk dandelion, red deadnettle and groundsel going strong out the front still and cornflower, orange poppies and yarrow in the flower bed area on the way to Lakeside were nice flowers to see. I enjoyed seeing some pretty flowers I believe sumac great red ones which I took the third picture in this photoset of which have come out nicely, leaves with raindrops on and cress were lovely to see on the balcony on the way out for my walk with bright red rose hips adorned by raindrops and nice firethorn seen well in the front garden as well as the little bit of lavender in flower and smashing snapdragons beside the house which I took the fourth picture in this photoset of were great sights today too.
It was interesting seeing Lakeside covered in puddles almost after the rain of late, and the lakes looking noticeably really full. What a difference a couple of months make. It was noticeable how low the water level was in the summer the extremes of the year really clear to see here. I enjoyed seeing autumnal colour today at Lakeside and home including bits of colour in the forsythia hedge providing brightness on a mostly moody day there was a touch of sun as the afternoon went on. I took the fifth, sixth, eighth and tenth pictures in this photoset of views here today. I also enjoyed seeing raindrops on the window, a subject I like taking macro photos of now and again as I did a couple of times including the second picture in this photoset. It was great to see prominence of them as the rain splashed the windows and how beautiful they looked, they made nice patterns fittingly as that is a theme in a photography Facebook group I am starting this week.
Wildlife Sightings Summary: One of my favourite birds the Great Crested Grebe, Mallard, Moorhen, Coot, Black-headed Gull including seen well out the front also on the green, Herring Gull, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, very wild and rustic scenes of Carrion Crows, Jackdaw seen well out the front near the Pied Wagtal and before, Magpie, Blue Tit, Goldcrest, Starling, Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Goldfinch, Robin, possible Wren at Lakeside and Noble False widow. I believe I heard Long-tailed Tit at Lakeside too.

Twenty-Five Words To Describe Myself
With so many adjectives one could use to describe themselves with, my first pick would be WISE. Its no secret that all my friends and family come to me for advice, they always have. I wouldn’t ever call myself a genius or be so arrogant to name myself the smartest person in the room…. however, I just seem to have a balanced mindset when it comes to what is right, or what should be done. Now, this second word is going to confuse the hell out of whoever is reading this, but my second pick is INDECISIVE. Now, you probably have a very perplexed look on your face. How can this girl who just bragged about being wise now contradict herself with not being able to decide???? It’s simple, my friend. It’s always easy to tell others what you think they should do, because you have a better view of the picture when you are not in it! It’s extremely challenging to make a big life altering decision when you’re the one living it. You see, we become very accustomed to what we are living within a day to day, so for example, if your friend is being cheated on and she is crying into a carton of ice cream on your couch, obviously, your immediate conclusion is to tell her to dump the guy because she deserves better. However, Britney who’s knee deep in that rocky road isn’t exactly seeing as clearly because she’s focused on the why he cheated, how he cheated, and is also being ambushed with fear without him and with a fun slap in the face of the flashbacks when time was good. So, to sum this very long explanation up, I can make a decision about Britney ditching the guy and living her best life, but I can not for the life of me decide whether or not I want pasta or tacos for dinner. Now, onto the third, I believe myself to be STRONG. I’ve been through a lot in the 25 years that I’ve lived, along with a billion other people. However, not all people can gain strength, some people become weaker. I can easily cut someone out of my life when I find them to be toxic or disturbing of my happiness. I have also found myself to be the person that most lean on in times they need it. I can take a lot, because I’ve seen a lot, and I’ve felt a lot. My fourth word I’ll use to describe myself would be MOTHERLY. I find myself to be very nurturing. This kind of goes hand in hand with being strong. When someone I love is sad or sick, I notice myself to be worried and prepared to fix the problem. That being said, my next word is PROTECTIVE which I don’t feel the need to explain because I kind of just did and I don’t really want to be redundant. Now with my sixth word I’ll lighten this up a bit and say that I am FASHIONABLE. Fashion has always been an outlet for me to really express myself with how I feel inside, and who I aspire to be. When I put on an outfit that I think really represents the mood that I’m in and can walk out of the house knowing I look good and feel good, it’s such an empowering and confident moment. It’s almost like my feelings become the fashion….. I didn’t really intend to make that deep but hey, I’ll leave it here because maybe other people feel the same way. I can also be ARTSY at times. I really have an eye for photography. I’ve loved taking pictures for as long as I can remember. I’ve always had an interest for acting, too. In fact, I took drama in high school. At one point, I thought I was going to move to LA and become an actress. When I was little, I would practice fainting, laughing, & crying on spot. And of course, I’ve always had a love for writing. I like to think that it came from my sun grandma. I remember being a little girl singing and dancing down the hallway of her warm and loving home and suddenly stopping to gaze at her as she was writing in her office. I’ve always admired her.
My eighth word to describe myself is SENTIMENTAL. Oh, my goodness, I’m such a sap. I can make an emotional connection with anything. Memories are a big deal to me; they always have been. I’m not sure why, or who I get the trait from, but I think that’s why I’ve always loved pictures and writing so much. The pictures are what I hold onto from my past, and I write about everything, so that I never forget. For a long time I believed I was a masochist, because I used to keep old photos of my past all over my walls, and I would let it consume me, and then I would write such sad shit, and then would wonder why I was so down. I became so used to feeling sad that when I wasn’t, I didn’t know what to do. Well, this just got depressing so, my next word is ADVENTUROUS. I wouldn’t say that I’m someone that goes on a lot of adventures, BUT I want to, so it counts! I love love love to travel and explore new places. Some of my favorite places have been Canada, Mexico, New York, California, & North Carolina. I’d really love to leave the country more, I’ve been dying to go to Europe, I’d really like to visit Amsterdam, Italy, & Paris. I can just picture all the candid photos I’d capture. All the beautiful buildings and quiet alley ways!!!! Ugh, a dream I can not wait to come true. And now coming in hot with number 10 on the list, I’m a SILLY gal. I’m no comedian but I do enjoy making people smile & laugh. I make weird faces, and dance like nobody is watching, and I love impersonating people. On a good day, I’m around people that spark that fun and wild girl that sometimes I suppress because I’m afraid of judgement. I love it when I let her out, she is free to be as silly as she wants, and in those moments, I feel like I’m my best self. Now this next one is going to make me sound kind of bad, but it’s whatever, I don’t care right now because I am currently on my third glass of wine so, that said I am a bit CONTROLLING. I like to be in charge, & I like things to go as planned. But you see, this is where I get contradicting again because I’m also EASY-GOING. So, I know you’re confused yet again, but hey I’m just me, and that’s all I can be, so like, stay in your lane sister. Now, back to what I was saying, I am controlling but only to an extent. It depends on the situation. It also has a lot to deal with me hating being told what to do. I’m way too independent of a woman to let anyone have any control over anything I say or do, so instead of being the controlled, I pursue to be the controller. Does that make sense? But also, now moving forward to why I call myself easy going…. When shit hits the fan, I don’t lose my cool. Like, I just go with it and figure it out as I go. And I think that’s pretty cool of me. Which also doesn’t make sense because for my next word… ha-ha… you’re really going to laugh at this, because though I just made sense of that fuckery, it’s about to become complicated yet again. So, here goes…. ANXIOUS. For someone that is always go with the flow when things don’t go accordingly, I am a nervous nelly. I worry about everyone and everything. There’s no need to further explain because It’ll honestly trigger my anxiety and I’ll have to stop this, and I can’t stop now cause I’m on a roll. And onto the next, this one is good. I will forever be a DREAMER. I’ve always kind of spaced out and day dreamt about what I could be, or maybe what I’d say if I met a celebrity that I looked up to, or maybe made up scenarios about a crush, and I know for a fact everyone has done this- imagine what I would say in a fight with someone, ha-ha.
This is taking longer than expected but now were at number fifteen, and I must mention that I have a love for vintage and old music, which makes me an OLD SOUL. I don’t think that needs any further explanation so for my next one I’m proud to say that I am a THOUGHTFUL person. I pay attention to what people like, and what they talk about. I like to surprise my loved ones with gifts at random times to make their day, and I love buying things that make me think of them when I’m out shopping. Also, I think words of encouragement go a long way, because life is hard and sometimes people need a “pick me up” so sometimes I send nice long texts to make their day.
These next two go hand in hand and I believe every human being on this earth needs to have these characteristics, UNDERSTANDING AND ACCEPTING. I have my own flaws, opinions, insecurities, values, and interests in this world so who would I be to not believe that every other person in this world deserves the same? In a perfect world, we would all just spread love, and hate would be nonexistent. Treat people how you want to be treated. We learned it in preschool, yet the world finds it to be such a hard concept to grasp. If we were all COMPASIONATE, the world would be a better place. My next word is kind of funny. Because a long time ago I would have just considered myself a FIGHTER (which I most definitely still am) However, since being with my husband, I have found myself to be a LOVER. Now, I guess I should begin with the first, and that kind of goes without saying. Earlier I stated I was strong, and here’s why, I’ve had to fight my own demons and failures to become the person I am today. You could say I fought like hell. Well, I fight like a girl, inserts winky face here. Okay, that’s enough wine for me tonight ha-ha. Now back to why I’m a lover, there’s actually a really long and inspiring yet devastating story about a boy who made me realize love was a beautiful thing, but we’d be here all day, and I need to finish this at some point tonight. Here’s some advice, every girl that acts like she doesn’t want love, has an enormous amount to give. You’re welcome, boys. Go get that brooding gal you’re pining over. Tell them Sierra, the queen of pretending love doesn’t exist sent you.
And just like that I’m at number 22, which is how old I was 3 years ago, and let me tell you, 3 years ago I was a different person, I was a lot more quiet and shockingly more anxious, but I definitely think I re-found my voice, and with that I’m just going to scream this one for you guys because I am LOUD. Now, when I say loud, yes, I my vocals do dramatically increase, however, I’m also talking about saying what’s on my mind. I can be very opinionated and sometimes I like to argue and will not rest until I have proven my point.
Wow, 3 words left, and I can’t help but find this extremely intimidating. These last words could make or break this entire thing I’ve got going on here. What even is this? It’s not an essay. Is it a diary? But it’s a laptop. Diaries are books. Ugh, this is going to bother me. I feel like Stefan from the vampire Diaries. That show is so good. There’s so much sex in it. And now, just like that I know my 23rd word. Which is going to be incredibly awkward if my mom reads this. Ah, what the hell, I’m her daughter and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree so I’m sure she’d made up her own assumptions; I’m SEXUAL. I feel like I’ve always been Intune with my sexuality. I know what I like, and I think sex is very important part of life. Frankly, I feel like it’s something that should be more normalized. But I don’t know, I guess it’s too UNCOMFORTABLE of a topic. Which now has lead me onto the next, now, you’re probably wondering why I describe myself as uncomfortable considering I just went on and one about being in tune with my sexuality, you’d think a woman who’s got that down sure has it all down. Wrong. I’m actually very uncomfortable with my body. The bedroom and the outside world are two very different things. I’ve always been uncomfortable around men, even since I was a small child. I’m positive some things have happened to me that I have suppressed and forced myself to block from my memories, but that’s a whole other story and I’m so close to finishing this I can almost taste the last word. I’m also uncomfortable about people’s perceptions of me, that has to do with my fears of being judged. I’m very critical of myself and think, well, if I think, they all must think it. Which I’m pretty sure is irrational of me to think but whatever, this is my diary (or whatever this is.) Anyways, this has made me uncomfortable to continue babbling about so finally, my 25th word is REAL. I couldn’t think of a better word to end this with, because I feel like I was almost naked writing this, I revealed a lot about myself and stayed authentic through it all. I honestly didn’t think I was going to finish this. I give up a lot on my writing because I never think it’s good enough, but you know what, I’m proud of this. And I’m proud to be me, and that, my friends, is as real as it gets.
…….

Her old archnemesis turned friend turned... nothing.” Anne is bored for the first time in her life and falls down the Instagram rabbit hole. She finds a familiar face.
Anne finds Gilbert’s Instagram and they end up reconnecting at college and then drama ensues. It’s really cute then it gets kinda sad and angsty and then it’s really cute again. I love it.
11.wonderstruck By: bruadarxch ( @rootedbutfl0wing) Rating: G Length: 14k-4/4

This is the boy I spent 7 hours reading. It’s a modern au where Anne is a struggling teacher and Gilbert is a struggling med student and they fall back in love. Honestly, the best part of the fic is the best friend relationship between Cole, Anne, and Diana. It’s some pretty wholesome and domestic stuff.

15.Drive Me Crazy By: serendipitous_rambles(@carrotsofavonlea) Rating: G
Length: 18k-15/15
Summary: Anne Shirley Cuthbert and Gilbert Blythe are next door neighbours, but they despise each other. It didn't used to always be this way, in fact at one time they were best friends. But things change following a personal tragedy for Gilbert, and by high school the two are practically strangers. Anne's life seemed to be going well: she was in charge of organising the school Centennial dance, she was accepted into college, and she was dating one of the most handsome boys in school: Roy Gardner. Only he breaks up with her mere weeks before the dance. When Gilbert's girlfriend Winifred also breaks up with him, Anne comes up with a crazy scheme to get their ex's back: pretend to date to make them jealous. Simple right? If only they don't kill each other first...
The modern fake dating au of your dreams. Includes an iconic scene from 10 things I hate about you.
16.ours are the moments I play in the dark / wild and fluorescent / come home to my heart By: anbethmarie Rating: T Length: 8k-3/3
Summary: Avonlea, August 1914 – England declares war on Germany. Anne Shirley shows up rain-drenched on Gilbert Blythe’s doorstep and learns her fiancé is due to leave for the Western front in a week’s time. All Anne wanted was to have the memory of a few quiet moments alone with Gilbert. The fact that she would get wet through on the way to his house and have to wear his shirt while waiting for her clothes to dry did not enter into her calculations.
This one is basically an episode of a drama tv show and I’m not complaining. Anne ends up pregnant with Gilbert’s baby and then he goes to war and they lose touch and he doesn’t know he has a child. It’s a whole thing. It’s mostly angst but reunions are chef's kiss (especially ones when they find out their father).
17.Trippingly, on the tongue By: meals Rating:G Length: 8k-1/1
Summary: Gilbert goes to Paris, Anne goes to Queens, and years later they both return to Avonlea and meet again. They should be older and wiser, but when neither of ever admits to their mistakes and misunderstandings, will they ever sort themselves out?
Such a good season three “what if” fic. I’ve read it so many times and I can’t get tired of it.

The characterization of Anne drunk is so good and the funniest thing
20.I Belong to You By: hoddypeak (@shirbertndisney) Rating: T Length: 30k-12/?

It may not always be easy, but life at Hogwarts becomes the greatest adventure of Anne's life.
As a potterhead I am required to put one of the best Harry Potter x AWAE fics on here. Also the only one that (in my opinion) gets the sorting right (gryffindor!Anne, Hufflepuff!Gilbert).

And how fitting is it that she who has chosen nature as her most fitting suitor is more beautiful than any earthly thing he’s ever known? The freckles on her face are fit to rival all the stars in the sky. Her eyes are oceans overflowing, they are rippling streams and shining waters. She could torch him with her hair and he would happily turn to ashes, to be the Earth, to be loved by her just once.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but most people can't tell the difference between the redhead they know and the girl who replaced her. Anne (and Ann) have to learn to live as the other and try to find a way back to their own homes.

As the first week of our online classes comes to a close, we would like to thank our community members for their patience as we work through this learning process together. While we have transformed our normal ways of teaching and learning, the education of the whole child remains at the core of all we do. Over the next few days, we will be soliciting feedback from parents about the current format of the online classes as we seek to improve the system that is currently in place. Spring is such an incredible time at North Country School, from hands-on learning outdoors in warmer weather to maple sugaring to lambing season, and we deeply miss having the whole community together to enjoy it.
In addition to the weekly blog, we are excited to launch a new "Connecting with Our Community" learning and activity series next week, which we hope will help keep us all connected at this difficult time. (See the footer below for more info.)
For over 80 years, our students have been challenged and inspired by the rawness of the mountains that surround us. Living in this environment gives children a deeper understanding of the rigorous beauty of nature and the delicate balances and life cycles that define life on our planet. Immersion in nature can have a healing quality, and so, we hope that you and your family are able to spend a little time outdoors while at home together.
Slowly but surely, the last vestiges of snow will begin to melt in the Adirondacks, the trees will begin to bloom, and soon, wild shades of green will enliven the mountains. We hope that the promise of spring will inspire and reassure our community of our collective resilience. We will all get through this together.
As we are learning in our own lives, the distance created by being separated from a community can feel isolating. Know that we are here to support you and your children through these challenging times. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, suggestions, or concerns.
Note: Our campus is temporarily closed to all students, with the exception of the 21 international students who remained here during spring break, rather than returning to their home countries during the early stages of the outbreak. These students, houseparents, and faculty are staying on campus and enjoying outdoor adventures in the contiguous wilderness during this time. They have been and will continue to practice social distancing, as well as CDC approved safety and prevention protocols.
OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILDREN

Life at North Country School looks different than it did earlier in the year, but our commitment to caring for our students and one another has not changed. Each day the adults on campus work to ensure that our community and the children that live here are cared for, happy, and healthy. Garden Manager Tess has been busy in the greenhouses starting seeds and tending to the plants that will nourish us through the rest of the year, both in the dining rooms and in the Teaching and Learning Kitchen for our Edible Schoolyard program. Head of Kitchen Paulette, along with other members of the kitchen staff, moved to campus earlier in the month to ensure that everyone on-campus will have access to delicious food full of healthy, wholesome ingredients.
While Paulette and Tess have been busy working in the kitchen and gardens, students and houseparents have been caring for our residential spaces, ensuring that those houses continue to truly feel like homes and provide a place to relax, work, and play. Our campus is also home to our two wonderful nurses, Jess and Shannon, as well as their families, and we are grateful for the thoughtful and compassionate care they provide to our students and faculty each and every day.
CREATIVITY AND CONNECTION

NCS has always been a school committed to dynamic, place-based, and hands-on learning. For our dedicated faculty, the move to online teaching demanded creativity and flexibility, but those core values remain the same. Teachers have been hard at work tackling that challenge, making sure to support one another and share resources in the process.
This week, English teacher Caroline read aloud to her 4th- and 5th-graders from The Ugly One, by Leanne Statland Ellis, while 8th-grade English teacher Melissa donned her trademark “first day of school” sweater before holding the first online class with her students. Earth science teacher Larry ran his class on erosion forces using a projector to view the group and engage in discussion. Sierra talked her photography class through their first lesson, helping them brainstorm ideas for individual creativity and thoughtful collaboration. As part of our efforts to engage with the greater community, and to reach families that are together in their own homes, Edible Schoolyard instructor Elie baked up some tortillas and a pizza to prepare for his first weekly “What’s Cooking on Campus?” lesson. Each Wednesday on our Facebook page, Elie will be posting recipes and cooking tips as resources for those cooking at home. “What’s Cooking on Campus?” is part of our new Connecting with Our Community series. Find more information on that series at the bottom of this post.
A PLACE TO PLAY
Top: Sweety makes a snowball. Middle 1: Playing sit down ball in the snow. Middle 2: Jessica ice fishing. Middle 3: Playing badminton in the WallyPAC. Bottom: Dean of Students Bryan Johansmeyer and his family build a snowman.
Access to the outdoors, exercise, and play have always been core values in the North Country School community, and their importance has never been more clear than during these challenging times. Our adults and students are still spending much of their time outside, and the fresh snow this week created the perfect playground for snowball fights, snowman building, and games of an NCS favorite pastime, sit down ball. Other groups took walks down to the lake for some afternoon out-times of ice fishing under bright blue skies, and when the temperatures dipped back toward freezing, groups took advantage of the spacious Walter Breeman Performing Arts Center (WallyPAC), setting up a badminton court that has been a favorite after-dinner activity this week.
NCS AT HOME
Top: Faculty child Ella attends a Zoom class from her on-campus home. Middle 1: Eighth graders attend a synchronous class online. Middle 2: Sixth grader Brian attends English class from home. Bottom: Sixth grader Samantha makes homemade ravioli from home.
Homes look different across our community, but those living both on and off campus have found ways to engage with one another even when they can’t meet face to face. Whether on the North Country School campus in Lake Placid, like 8th-grade faculty child Ella, or spread all around the world like much of our student body, those in the extended community have found creative ways of connecting to their teachers and classmates, often by sending updates of their time spent at home. This week we received pictures of 6th-grader Brian attending a synchronous English class with his teacher, Jack, from the comfort of his Connecticut home’s living room. Day student and 6th-grader Samantha sent photos of her family preparing homemade ravioli and baking tiramisu cake using recipes and skills she’s learned in her years of Edible Schoolyard class at NCS.
SIGNS OF SPRING
Top: A tree frog on campus. Middle 1: Fred helps collect maple sap. Middle 2: Spinach growing in the greenhouse. Bottom: Moss peeking through the snow on campus.
While our day-to-day lives may have changed significantly in the recent weeks, we on the North Country School campus have greatly appreciated that the changing of the seasons has continued moving forward like clockwork. All around us, the snow is melting and new green shoots are pushing out of the ground. The maple sap is flowing in our sugarbush, and we have already boiled that sap down into many gallons of sweet maple syrup for use in our dining rooms throughout the upcoming year. Our greenhouses are filled with tiny seedlings and young plants stretching toward the sun, and we are already harvesting some of our first greens of the season. Soon our sheep will begin their lambing season down at the barn, and the once tiny baby chicks have started looking like adult chickens. In this challenging time, observing these beautiful and normal moments, and seeing reminders of the resilience of the natural world, have been both a comfort and source of optimism to us here at NCS.
We hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy, and that your communities are caring for and supporting one another. We will continue to update you about our community from our mountain campus throughout this time, and encourage you all to reach back out to us as well.

Secrets and lies
Secrets belong in a black box
that everybody keeps in their heart.
There, locked in the eighth house,
guarded by a Scorpion,
in the same house of intimacy and passion,
the place of lust, of Pluto, of death and other passages.
Pluto in Capricorn has had a tight grip on Venus.
Lies and deceit are a thing of Neptune, lord of the seas, of photography
conjunct the Sun in Pisces now.
Foggy half-truths and illusions are in full season in the sky.
Soon Venus will be free in Aquarius
and another cycle will begin.
(While Jupiter in Sagittarius sees the truth of it all)

19/12/2021-Whitefield Moor in the New Forest and home
Yesterday's trip made me feel quite nostalgic of last year and festive as it was so reminiscent of the Saturday before Christmas for us last year, being at the sea under amazing looking winter skies seeing two incredible diver species and other amazing seabirds including one of my favourite birds the Guillemot. The whole weekend in fact before Christmas last year was a rather jolly one that was a standout moment of my wildlife/photography and general December/festive period looking back, and the Sunday of that one a year ago was a brilliant New Forest trip. Today after admiring moody misty scenes out the back early on at home it hiding much of a scene I see a lot from my room which I got a photo of touched by a bit of sun and clearly visible on Friday so it shall be interesting to compare them and masses of Collared Doves in and around the garden again the first picture I took in this photoset of three on some garden furniture next door shows this with Blue Tit and many House Sparrows again making nice sights in the garden among other birds, we headed to the New Forest again.
The story of my day yesterday is here: https://dansnaturepictures.tumblr.com/post/670942355012075520/18122021-black-throated-diver-cold-moon-and and here: https://dansnaturepictures.tumblr.com/post/670940870141460480/18122021-post-1-of-2-photos-and-sightings-at and the weekend before Christmas last year here: https://dansnaturepictures.tumblr.com/post/637974641808392192/191220-birds-and-interesting-weather-on-a-trip, here: https://dansnaturepictures.tumblr.com/post/637978574236860416/19122020-birds-and-interesting-weather and here: https://dansnaturepictures.tumblr.com/post/638068550830080000/20th-december-2020-marsh-harrier-lapwings
After seeing the sun appearing quite creamy as it drifted in front of the cloud for a bit as a bit of blue sky was revealed on the journey and taking in some beautiful flowers getting pictures in the back garden before leaving including chrysanthemum and bellflower shown in the second picture in this photoset which I liked seeing we arrived at Whitefield Moor and walked towards Holmhill Bog the other side of the road where we saw a Hen Harrier in late 2019 and early 2020 in case it was about again a bird we need to see this year still. We didn’t see one but it was an extremely tranquil walk seeing just two other people and due to the mood of it, as mist sat on the landscape, creating some great atmospheric heath and woodland scenes I liked seeing the stream too which I enjoyed taking in and photographing. I took the third-eighth pictures in this photoset of views of all these aspects today.
Particularly by the trees where you can get a beautiful view of the lovely Rhinefield House which we hadn’t noticed much before after walking at this bit a few times since late 2019 when we first discovered this part of the walk I took the ninth picture in this photoset showing this grand house a key part of the landscape here, we saw a flurry of birds seeing them out in the landscape this overlooked too. Lots of one of my favourite birds the Jay flying about, Treecreeper and Goldcrest in the impressive tall trees and Robin down low with Stonechats on the heath as well. Woodpigeon flew high and in this area also was a mammal the Grey Squirrel scuttling about. Other wildlife I saw across the whole walk were some nice Redwings, fellow thrushes Song Thrush and Blackbird, Carrion Crow and a little insect on the wing too.
Gorse in beautiful yellow flower in considerably sized pockets a nice colourful sight on a winter’s day and little bits of heather with nice colour were floral highlights of the day a gorse picture was good to take with my macro lens to take part in #WildflowerHour on Twitter tonight which I don’t have pictures for every week lately. There seemed to be some pink blossom on a tree I saw on the way by Totton, possibly a deception in the misty light or maybe a quirk of an introduced species. Adding nicely to a daffodil seen on a verge recently.
In a strong weekend and few days for it I had an amazing wildlife moment at home this evening when I saw and photographed with my macro lens a tiny spider in my bedroom on the ceiling. A nice moment and after going off to do something else I came back in and it was suspended in mid air and I just got to the right angle to see the light shining from my en suite to reveal its web. A wonderful natural moment that added so well to something I mention in tomorrow’s highlights post, my brilliant year of spiders as we got into autumn and winter. I took the tenth and final picture in this photoset of this spider when on the ceiling. I hope you all have a great week.

// The Japanese dare
Late September, for an exhibition on graphic design entitled The sport displayed, a conference was held at the Japanese cultural center in Paris. Before going into the details, let me tell you about this often unnoticed institution. Located near the Eiffel Tower, this place was inaugurated in 1997 by Jacques Chirac, the French president at the time and Sayako, princess of Japan. Ever since, this glass house has aimed to promote the Japanese culture to the French audience through a rich and diverse programming. For the beginning of the new school year, the exhibition curators have interested themselves in the field of sport : twenty four posters around the theme of sport were presented in the entrance hall. Created by nine Japanese graphic designers, who are either famous artists or emerging talents in their country, these posters will be on display for only three weeks, until October eighth.
As explained in the press kit, these outstanding art works characterised, by sense of movement, beauty and humour, were presented on the opening night, during the Modernity and Japanese Graphic design conference. Michel Bouvet, who is not only a professor, but a curator and a poster artist, was here to trace the History of graphic design in the Empire of the rising sun, from 1945 to the present day. Diego Zaccaria, an art historian who created the internationally recognized event Le mois du graphisme d’Échirolles (Échirolles graphic design month) was the second lecturer of the evening. For an hour and a half, we listened to those two great figures in the visual art field, and it seems they were really pleased who were pleased to share their knowledge on the subject and their memories of their travels and experiences.
The first minutes were dedicated to the presentation of every single poster of the exhibition. Diego Zaccaria was in charge of this task, explaining to us the compositions of the posters and their contexts of creation. I think it was a good way to begin because it allowed the hearing to focus on a concrete aspect of the theme and some specific cases in graphic design and the history of Japan. But, the slide show of the conference was way too small for us to read the legends. All the posters were laid out on the same page. I thought it would create useful links maybe rich in meaning but the speaker didn’t mention them and made his presentation unreadable, which is unfortunate. I will still remember the name of Ikko Tanaka and the two posters he created for the 39th National Sports Festival Summer and Autumn Games in 1984. Those two images appealed to my eye because of the display, typeface and photography. The tension from the start of the swimming race layered under the white typeface’s steady and rigorous composition seemed very accurate and it reminded me of Swiss graphic design in some ways.
Then, Diego Zaccaria gave the floor to Michel Bouvet, who commented the print file of a book (Made in Japan) he made six years ago on the occasion of the Mois du graphisme d’Échirolles in 2016. Mr. Bouvet is really passionate when it comes to talk about Japanese culture and graphic design, this is something we felt during the conference. But because of time constraints, he skimmed through his document without ever dwelling on examples or references. His superficial analysis left us quite frustrated, and even more so when we witnessed how much knowledge he would have been able to share with us with a more structured thinking. Among all his digressions, I remember one marked by lots of humour and which that qualifies the Japanese’s spirit well : a poster of a gigantic blue bone with a great purity of form, to promote … a mortuary company. As said Michel Bouvet, nobody would have dared, the Japanese did.

Cromwell Island and Mansion in Montana For Sale priced at $72 million – Lake Monster Lurks Nearby!
Although Montana has one of the smallest populations of America’s 50 states – about one-eighth the size of New York City – the state has become a hot spot for celebrities. While Beverly Hills and New York are always the favorite towns for celebrities to live most of the year, many are buying second homes in Big Sky country.
Propelled by Covid, a quest for a simpler life, and a break from the Hollywood craziness, more and more celebrities including Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Tom Brady, and Bill Gates own homes in Montana. And Ben Affleck where he and Jennifer Lopez reignited their love life in 2021 at Ben’s seven-bedroom home in the super-upscale Yellowstone Club community.
For celebrities or anyone who aspires to a place in Montana, one of the most interesting offerings is the newly listed Cromwell Island in the center of Flathead Lake. Even larger than Lake Tahoe, Flathead Lake is the largest natural inland body of water west of the Mississippi.
Cromwell is sited in the center of the lake with approximately 2,900 feet of shoreline and was purchased by antique collector and explorer Robert M. Lee in the late 1980s. He and his wife built the exterior shell of a 45,000-square-foot home and a guest house which they completed. Lee died in 2016 before the interior of the main house was completed.
Though only the exterior of the home is complete, it gives the buyer free rein to design the interior layout exactly the way they want it, while living comfortably in the completed guest house. Views from the island are striking with the snowcapped Mission Mountains in the distance and the varying shades of blue in the water as the sun moves east to west.
Legend has it that much like Loch Ness, Flathead Lake has its own water monster, Flessie, decked out in deer antlers. The legend was started over a hundred years ago by the Kutenai Indian Tribe.
A little more believable than Loch Ness’s Nessie, rural folks know that in the fall, a buck will swim until he drowns from exhaustion in pursuit of a pretty doe. A hundred years later, the occasional sighting on the lake is still being reported. The perfect perch to view the lake with binoculars is from this $72 million home on the island.
The listing agent for Cromwell Island is Bill McDavid of Hall & Hall, Missoula, Montana.

☆*゚BIOGRAPHY: SELINE
BASIC
NAME: Seline Marie Kennedy Rhodes, or alternately Selena Maria Nazaré Álvares da Silveira Kennedy Rhodes
NICKNAMES: Selenita, Sel, Lena, the Black Sheep
AGE: 24 years old
BIRTHDAY: April 24th, 1994
GENDER: Cisgender Female
PRONOUNS: She/her/hers
FAMILY
MOTHER: Vitória Isabel Álvares da Silveira Rhodes
FATHER: George Prescott Kennedy Rhodes
MATERNAL FAMILY: The da Silveira family still owns a large fazenda, or farm, in the town of Aimorés in Minas Gerais. Seline’s maternal grandmother, Maria Beatriz Bettencourt Álvares, was a well-known fashion designer originally from Madeira, Portugal, who has since lived for decades in Brazil’s fashionable southern city, São Paulo, following the death of her husband. Seline’s maternal grandfather, João Manuel Melo da Silveira, born in Aimorés, was a radicalized activist during Brazil’s brutal dictatorship in the 60s and 70s. Her mother, born in Belo Horizonte, was subsequently raised in Porto, Portugal, after her parents fled persecution. Following the fall of the military regime, the family returned to Brazil, where João helped co-found Partido dos Trabalhadores, or the Workers’ Party of Brazil. After serving as Brazilian vice-President from 2003 to 2005, João died in a plane crash in the Bolivian countryside. Though it was officially deemed an accident, many believed foul play to be involved.
PATERNAL FAMILY: The Rhodes are a certified modern day political institution - or machine - depending on what side of the aisle you’re on. The Rhodes family owns a large ranch estate in McLennan County, Texas. Seline’s paternal grandfather, Prescott Walker Rhodes, D., was President of the United States from 1989-1993, and her father, George Prescott Kennedy Rhodes, D., followed in his father’s footsteps as President of the United States from 2005-2013, leaving behind an even larger legacy for the Rhodes heirs. Her uncle, Peter Rhodes, D., serves as a representative in the United States House from Massachusetts' 6th district. Her brother, Adriano, D., serves as governor of Florida. Also - unsurprisingly - Seline’s paternal grandmother is a distant Kennedy. Yes, one of those Kennedys.
SIBLINGS: Adriano Prescott, Daniel George, and Samuel Luis
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
FACECLAIM: Bella Hadid
ETHNICITY: Half Portuguese-Brazilian, part British/Irish/Scottish, part Palestinian.
NATIONALITY: American by birth, Brazilian by citizenship, Latin-American by blood.
HEIGHT: 5′8″
BUILD: Toned, though she’s retained some curves. Selina hates most conventional forms of exercise, so you can expect to find her practicing aerial yoga or capoeira somewhere - as long as there’s no running involved. She used to play football (soccer) before her knee injury but has since given it up.
TATTOOS: She has one tattoo of a minimalist sun on her foot that she got done in Brazil (that her father almost killed her over).
PIERCINGS: One in each ear and her belly button, which she got when she was 14 - but don’t tell her father.
HAIR COLOR: Chestnut brown, like her father’s before it grayed.
EYE COLOR: Icy blue/gray, like her mother’s
DOMINANT HAND: Right-handed.
ANOMALIES: One of her feet is a whole half-size bigger than the other. Same with her breasts (though it’s the opposite one).
ACCENT: American, though when she’s talking fast, she definitely adopts a Brazilian lilt.
MEDICAL HISTORY: Of relatively sound physical health overall, Seline was in a car accident when she was 18 that required surgery in her knee and extensive physical therapy since. She walks fairly normally, though struggles to keep a pace beyond jogging and can’t exert herself too much beyond that. Because of this injury, she still suffers from chronic pain to this day and is a frequent patient of massage therapy. Her mental health is more capricious - she suffered from really bad anxiety, especially as a child, though she seems to be of better mind since completing her schooling. She had bouts with depression throughout high school especially and sought therapy for this, where her abandonment and trust issues became more apparent. (*cough* daddy issues *cough*)
ALLERGIES: She has an allergy of certain types of pollen and skin allergies to grass and nickel, though possesses no known food allergies.
NERVOUS TICS: Nail biting/cuticle picking (to the point of drawing blood) or knuckle cracking if she’s genuinely nervous. If it’s minor (or flirtatious), lip biting is common.
QUIRKS: Occasionally sleep talks in a combination of Spanish and Portuguese, though weirdly never English.
LIFESTYLE
RESIDES: She has been living in an Upper East Side penthouse purchased for her by her father since January 2018 after spending the past year traveling, but is currently considering a move to Rio de Janeiro.
BORN: Manhattan, New York.
RAISED: In various cities around América Latina. Born in 1994 in New York City, she moved to Belo Horizonte with her mother when she was only two. Raised in Brazil, Seline lived in Buenos Aires with her mom her fifth year, then spent her sixth and seventh years with her grandmother in São Paulo, before living her eighth year with her mother again in Mexico City. After her father’s presidential campaign began in 2003, Seline and her mother moved back in with George Rhodes in New York City before the family relocated to Washington, D.C. during his presidency. She considers América Latina her home more than anywhere else.
VEHICLE: 2017 Range Rover
PHONE: iPhone 7+
LAPTOP/COMPUTER: MacBook Air 2018
PETS: A long-haired chihuahua named Tiago.
CAREER: Freelance photographer (though she mostly shoots landscapes and portraits - especially of indigenous peoples and various classes of laborers)
EXPERIENCE: Graduated with a BA in Political Science and History (specializing in the study of Latin America) from Georgetown University in 2016.
POLITICAL AFFILIATION: Registered Democrat (that is her family’s religion).
RELIGION: Her mother’s family is Catholic, though the Rhodes are Episcopal Christians.
BELIEFS: She isn’t very religious but if she had to ascribe to any particular denomination, she’d call herself loosely Catholic, more in culture than in faith. Her God is less biblical and more spiritual, an energy to be found in the people and places she’s discovered around the world.
MISDEMEANORS AND FELONIES: N/A
TICKETS AND/OR VIOLATIONS: She has received two driving tickets (one in the state of New York, and the other in Texas) for speeding, though none else.
DRUGS: She used adderall and concerta interchangeably in college, but has since stopped taking both. She also used cocaine while in América Latina but that did not follow her back into the States. She still enjoys partaking in marijuana every once and a while, if the time’s right.
SMOKES: Yes (to both)
ALCOHOL: Yes
DIET: She tried to be vegetarian in college, but after traveling América Latina extensively, has fallen back to a very meat-heavy diet. She eats a lot of proteins (meats, beans), potatoes, carbs (pan dulce [her weakness] and especially tortillas), fruits, and veggies. She jokes that she rarely ever cooks with anything else.
ROMANTIC ORIENTATION: Aside from her high school boyfriend (which can hardly be considered a relationship), Seline has not had a romantic partner for a long, long time. Needless to say, she’s not sure of her romantic orientation.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Bisexual
KINKS: Daddy play (oh god please don’t mention it), dominant partners, choking, spanking, being held down/tied up, marks and bruises, masochism, exhibitionism/public sex, spitting.
SEXUAL HISTORY: While not too extensive, Seline has had her fair share of hookups through the years. Loosing her virginity to her boyfriend senior year of high school, she slept with only three different men throughout college before exploring her sexuality more fully in América Latina. If she had to count, her number of partners is somewhere between 15 and 30, though she never likes to offer a definitive answer. She’s never had an STI.
MARTIAL STATUS: Never married
LANGUAGES: English, Portuguese, Spanish all fluently.
PHOBIAS: Glossophobia, or the fear of public speaking.
HOBBIES: Photography, traveling, hiking, yoga, capoeira, swimming, reading, exploring new cities, eating outdoors, cooking (especially with someone else), being outside, tanning, smoking, drinking, dancing, spending time with her closest friends, karaoke, trying new restaurants, visiting museums, experimenting with other forms of art, riding public transportation, sex.
ONE BAD HABIT: Biting her nails.
ONE GOOD HABIT: Moisturizing her face and skin. Constantly.
ONE HABIT THEY CAN’T BREAK: Smoking. She tries not to do it often but she can’t help it.
ONE THEY’VE BROKEN: Cocaine. She can’t touch it anymore.
FAVOURITE
LOCATION: Her grandfather’s family farm in Aimorés, Minas Gerais.
SPORTS TEAM: Brazilian’s national football (soccer) team.
MUSIC: She loves a wide array of music, though her favorite stuff is either of the indie/folk variety if in English and reggaetón otherwise.
SHOWS: Game of Thrones, Westworld, anything HBO touches
MOVIES: City of God (she doesn’t care if she’s stereotypical)
RADIO STATION: Apple Music’s ‘Chill’ Station
FOOD: Brazilian food, hands down. She’d be lying if she said she didn’t love feijoada, but her favorite dish is probably churrasco.
BEVERAGE: Caipirinha (alcoholic) or guaraná (non-alcoholic)
COLOR: Forest green
CHARACTER
MORAL ALIGNMENT: Chaotic good
