do you think reading umineko could fix jordan
my understanding of Umineko is that it mostly consists of a pathetic guy trying and failing to solve mysteries while a witch (who may or may not have ever existed in any meaningful way) taunts him about his limitations while asserting her own omnipotence.
so no. I am reasonably certain that the best-case scenario for "Jordan Rogers reading Umineko" is that he becomes a transgender kinnie and somehow even worse as a person in the process. we're talking Baby Bear II here.

how seriously (if at all) were you considering having Regina die in diska?? there was a while where it seemed like she was looking for an excuse to die. relatedly, do you think she ends up happy, down the line? really looking forward to the ska post-mortem!! you really did a fantastic job with Regina, she's such a compelling and interesting character
I'm just gonna throw this under a Read More lol. The post-mortem comes out next week but I don't touch on this the most there.
Extremely seriously, to the point where I was a little annoyed that she didn't face consequences during Disco 50 just because of the little trick Bob pulls so that everyone's alive after the fight. That said, I think its probably best that she didn't die.
After her phantom fight she definitely is re-evaluating why she's doing all of this for people who she doesn't know who are friends with a guy who will grow up to kill her girlfriend. So when she asks Kacey if she wants to leave (and she was counting on Kacey turning her down), that's the last straw, right?
She wanted to die in those moments very badly, but when the draws came around, it didn't make sense for her to accept the deaths in ska 48 and 49, especially being offered The World both times. In-character, what was going through my mind was her taking the card that wasn't The World would be exposing that pain to the rest of the team in a way she didn't want to - they can literally hear her choosing what to take, so she takes The World both times because she cannot let them see her vulnerable.
The whole thing with Regina that I came into the season with is 'Pride as a mask,' which is why all of the shadowy figures in her eidolon have animal masks, its why she won't let anyone in close, its how I feel constantly lol.
I would like it if she ends up happy. I'm not going to say she does one way or another, and I don't think we're ever going to revisit these characters. It would go against everything we did this season to say whether or not she's happy. That's up to her.

Eidolon Ska, but the phantom fights work on persona 4 rules so Charlie, Kasey and Regina's big fight triggers 3 simultaneous boss battles

i cant believe eidolon playtest was actually homestuck. i cant believe the narrator gag from the beginning has become the most important thing about the story.

21, Taylor Hebert?
21 was Ok Go's Here it Goes Again. That already sounds like its gotta be the name of a million timeloop fics. I could see going in that direction, maybe having Taylor trapped replaying the time between Dinah giving her warning and Scion going berserk to try and prevent it, but I don't really see myself writing anything in that mold that isn't just rehashing things Mother of Learning does better.
Alternately, I could have it be a crossover fic where Taylor meets Harvey D. Godlove from Eidolon Playtest, aka the reason the song is in my top 100 at all, a Vegas gangster with a magic pinball called Here it Goes Again that he uses as a ricocheting bullet. Spoilers for Eidolon's first season below:
How a crossover would go depends on who's crossing over into who's property. If Taylor was becoming an Eidolon character, I'd pitch it as Taylor entering one of Doorman's portals to another world for a meeting, only to get pulled into Eidolon's world by the setting's chaos spirit Lady Luck. She appears in front of him while he's alone, maybe while the rest of the Jawbreakers are at the Neutral Milk Hotel (Eidolon's great), and overhears him planning the attack on Michael Valentine. Assuming he's a villain assassin, she's gonna do the Weaver thing of insisting he either keeps himself to lower-level crimes or joins the PRT so they could have all hands on deck for the end of the world. Not knowing what the hell Taylor's talking about but assuming from her getup and abilities that she's with the Dead Pharaoh, Harvey immediately tries to get away or subdue her without unduly hurting her, because y'know, she's visibly a kid. This gets followed by a battle that is way more cartoonish than the brutal stakeouts Weaver has become used to by now: her swarm getting decimated by a pinball ricocheting off of individual bugs, attempting to stop the pinball with spidersilk but just turning it into a flail stuck to Harvey's hand, that sort of thing.
If it was Harvey somehow transferred to the Parahumans setting (maybe he walked through the wrong door in the Neutral Milk Hotel), than I could see it being Harvey needing to negotiate with Cauldron to get to use Doorman to go back home, and getting sent out as part of a striketeam Taylor's leading. The central conflict would probably be Taylor dealing with another Krouse-like figure: someone who wont follow a plan or work with a team, and who keeps pulling dumb-ass stunts that he keeps somehow surviving but keeps leaving the strike team in a worse spot. Honestly I don't see them giving each other new perspectives or learning to lean on each other or anything. Instead, it ends with someone on the striketeam getting killed because of a stunt Harvey pulls, but Harvey also saving the operation by acting against Taylor's orders, and Harvey making his exit while they yell at each other over their issues.

spoilers for ska #12 and later
the dynamic between charlie and natalie is incredible. charlie asks for her mom back in a moment of loneliness and she not only finds out that natalie doesn't live up to her half-remembered childhood memories, but she's a literal manifestation of charlie's anxieties about the ways her power can be abused, even on accident.
ANYWAY FUCK ME I STARTED WRITING THIS POST WHILE LISTENING TO SKA 17 AND I GUESS THAT PLOTLINE JUST RESOLVED

Hi Maxie! I'd like to get into Eidolon Playtest. Should I start from the beginning to understand what's going on, or is each season distinct enough that I can start at the newest season and dig through the archives later?
POP and ROCK are two halves of the same narrative. DISCO and SKA work the same way. So either POP #1 (older) or DISCO #1 (newer) should work fine as a starting point.
As for miniseries, I believe Thieves and Montreal contain s2 spoilers, but everything else should be entirely self-contained.

Sloane Parker is the most relatable fictional character because if a tall woman in a suit was playing the piano on the ceiling while saying she could help me and my friends at some sort of cost I would also immediately offer myself up to her.

listening to total eclipse of the heart really hits different after finishing eidolon playtest
during season 1 i kept imagining the singer as lady luck desperately trying to prove she still cared about this totally unswayed force of nature
but with all the plot twists in season 2 even if they definitely weren’t planned that far back, that teoth is something a regular person can Become, it feels closer to the total loneliness and alienation of feeling like life is meaningless, the pain of that jenny/holly connection being forgotten, the idea that caring is pain and that withdrawing from all of it feels inevitable. and then at the very very end, the pain of slowly learning how to feel again, like pins and needles in a sleeping limb. teoth/jenny needs luck/holly tonight...........needs her more than ever............ ahhhh
