That's kinda basic, plus the message should not be that the consumer buying things today is responsible for an already filthy rich person's wealth, especially when in certain instances (not here but I'm generalizing) there are no good choices and you'll just make yourself miserable by trying to find products that don't in any way negatively affect people or the planet. But in this specific case, you can always donate the equivalent of the money you give to Harry Potter movies/products/merch to support trans people and causes, and anything else Rowling is against. And this way you're actually giving more money to the cause she's against than what you gave to her, because she won't ever get the full amount of what you're paying for the product, she's actually getting mere cents of royalties in most cases.
another reminder to stop buying/watching/reading anything JK Rowling associated
#to be honest#coming from a country where that kind of stuff rarely gets here (especially merchandise) and when it does it's 200% more expensive#it's way too easy to get non-official merch instead#like I'd tried knockoff butterbeer before#they wouldn't get the official stuff here#now I don't want the official stuff lol#also about the games#ehh I don't really do the buying games thing yohoho :P#unless it's console exclusive and I want to support the creators#so it would be pretty disingenuous from me to say that I do#anyway you should question where your money ends up but there are always ways to make up for buying a product you like#and don't overdo it because with that thinking every single big brand should be out of your house for one reason or another I'm not kidding#and if that's the case I'm not sure what kind of device the people who agree with this are doing their likes and reblogs from#I am once again asking from people to watch the good place so that they can stop saying things like these
