I was reminded today that not everyone knows about one of my favorite ADHD/time blindness helpers.

behold! the magic of the egg timer:

pros:

quick and easy to set (no long setup, no typing, just a twist)

mechanical (no batteries required)

remaining time visible

comes in fun shapes and sizes (add your favorite to this post!!)

cons:

can be loud

can't be attached to your wrist

can only be set to up to 59 minutes

I got curious about whether or not you could cook an egg by just pouring boiling water over it and letting it sit in the hot water a while.

You can. I used an insulated stainless coffee mug which helped keep the water hot. I also forgot about it for an hour so idk about how long it actually takes to cook, but it was a perfect hard boiled egg when I remembered to check on it.

Silver Spoon’s and Candle’s betrayal has been foreshadowed since episode 4, where they voted OJ off. Silver is the type of character who tosses others away the moment he deems them useless, while Candle tosses others away the moment she deems that the others sees her as useless. They are essentially the same in a sense that they both need to feel needed. Silver wants to be the leader, someone at the top, while Candle needs to have an active supporting role. Since Cabby took both of their roles, both of them flipped to the other side as they believed that they were no longer needed. However, Balloon

Saturday dinner - salad, grilled vegetables with steak, chorizo & shrimp:

The art of imbuing food with smoke flavor on a gas grill. This is a roughly 50/50 mixture of pecan & apple wood. The pecan is strong like hickory, oak & mesquite while the apple is sweet & light. The blend renders a smoke flavor that is balanced like a beautiful katana crafted by a master. The blackened pieces are wood chunks that have seen one or more grillings. The water, with its minute particles of ash, is retained & poured into our compost bins. Nothing is wasted... only transformed:

More squirrel planted sunflowers. Given the effort that my queen & I have put into trying to grow sunflowers in previous years, it is a little annoying that the squirrels managed it by just being sloppy eaters:

My 3 minute egg timer that I've started using to time when I'm grilling. My queen likes her steak well done. On our gas grill, 16 to 18 minutes produces a well done steak that is still juicy. She says I could teach the cooks at the local steakhouses a thing or two about cooking a well done steak properly:
