Dwalen in Tilburg

Het dwaalgebied in Tilburg is een gebied waar je graag in rond wil dwalen. Het barst er van de leuke winkeltjes en eettentjes. De winkelroute van EerlijkWinkelen loopt ook door dit gebied. EerlijkWinkelen biedt in steden door heel Nederland winkelroutes aan met winkels en eetgelegenheden die fairtrade, biologische en tweedehands producten verkopen.

De route nam me mee naar de WereldWinkel. In deze winkel worden originele kado's en levensmiddelen uit andere werelddelen verkocht. En bovendien is ook alles eerlijk. Ik heb meteen een reep Tony's Chocolonely gekocht.

Toen ik de route verder bewandelde kwam ik uit bij KunstLicht. Ook hier worden diverse kadoartikelen verkocht. Je ziet er veel houten producten zoals zoals zonnebrillen, horloges en telefoonhoesjes, maar ook veel gerecyclede prducten. Bijvoorbeeld een notitieblok van oude billboard posters.

Ik eindigde mijn reis bij SamSam. Ik ben er heel vaak langs gefietst maar nooit binnen gegaan. De winkel hangt bomvol met bijzondere tweedehands kleding. Je kunt het zo gek niet bedenken of het hangt er wel. Ik weet dat veel Tilburgers hier ook hun carnavalskleding halen. Dat zegt genoeg denk ik.

De Noordstraat in Tilburg. Een oase waar eerlijk winkelen het devies is. Een aangename plaats met een buitenlandse setting. Even ontsnappen van het industriële karakter die de stad heeft. De pittoreske winkeltjes verwelkomen de nieuwsgierigen met een warm onthaal en een glimlach waar zelfs de zon jaloers op is. Het zijn vrije geesten die vasthouden aan nostalgie en ambacht. Dat trekt zich door in de winkels, die stuk voor stuk het verlengde is van de eigenaar. Jawel, de Noordstraat is een juweeltje. Het maakt Tilburg toegankelijker waardoor het lijkt alsof je in de boezem van deze nogal grijzige Brabantse stad mag kijken. Genieten!
