First section of OM observations plus commentary, chapters covered is: fox skin and changeling. Questions are numbered and in bold!

Right, finally found the time to have a sit down and do this, yippee! College has been taking up far too much space in my brain!

I’ve got a mocha, and a slice of lemon drizzle cake so I’m all set up :3

I’ve always really loved what you open with for OM, its both nice and straight to the point and the tone is kept light to play up the comedy that *somehow* no one has figured out just what Juleka is.

Question 1: How does glamour work in this universe? Is it a natural magic that developed as a defence mechanism from when monsters were being persecuted or was it something cast over monsters by design? Is it a different sort of glamour that protects miraculous users' identities?

I did chuckle when Juleka referred to the miraculous as “hero business she wants no part of” because a) PN being a thing, and b) Juleka is literally insanely protective and sacrificial in OM as is so she’s heroic either way, so like ha! I know what you are Juleka… mentally ill…

Oh, I do love reading and seeing the gang form, you introduce these familiar characters with unfamiliar aspects so wonderfully. The way each of them have a different intro… it’s so much fun. I do like how the reveals slow down as the story goes on but still pop up from time to time, like with Kim in later chapters.

Speaking of, I do adore how you write, like, overall plots? It’s hard to describe, but you always have a very good mix of character driven plot beats, and manage to keep the story arcs flowing. OM does have less of a clear ending point because of how it’s written but if anything it adds to the vibe of the story; teenagers being silly goofs and learning to rely on each other and discovering who they are as people.

It’s so funny how Rose kicks off the plot by casually mentioning Alya’s coat, like did she just get bored or something??

I do like how you write Juleka’s vampiric driven thoughts, they toe the line of being a bit funny and with her being self aware enough that they feel grounded. They don’t feel unnecessarily creepy or melodramatic.

Christ it’s really weird seeing Juleka interact with Marinette. I'm so used to the toxic LadyNoire yuri…

Question 2: But also. Fr. Why did Marinette react like that when asked about Alya’s jacket??

Question 3: Does Juleka also have to count things if they are thrown on the floor as another weird vampire thing after needing an invitation and being unable to cross running water? Also is Juleka burnt in the sunlight and she’s just been wearing a huge hat and been fully covered this entire time or…?

I do love Alya as a character, especially in this she has so many fun qualities which are a lot of fun to read about. They’re awkward in an adorable way in this chapter, both of them lack any tact Juleka’s “I like your skin.” line will always make me lose my mind, why tf is she like that?! I do like their dynamic in this with the magical investigative side of things and becoming closer friends it's super cute :3

Question 4: How does Juleka’s whole mind control thing work? Because you explicitly wrote that the “I suggest you tell me more.” thing is a suggestion spell and I’m not sure if we ever see Juleka attempt to mind control someone. Like, I get why she wouldn’t whip it out on the reg, it’s kind of nasty on the consent side of things, but for when they’re fucking around and finding it out it feels like it could be useful depending on how it works :)

EEEE, Alya’s transformation is so cool… love how you wrote that, plus her reaction afterwards with immediately wanting to know more about Juleka is so in character for her.

The running bit of Juleka being like “Why does everyone think Rose and I are dating?” only for her to be the only one who didn’t think that is literally so funny. My poor girl has no self esteem but to be fair Rose, girly, use your words!

Question 5: In your lore, is a bitten vampire different to a born vampire in any capacity? If so, in what ways?

Question 6: Why are Etta and Ella just people but Nora and Alya are selkies? Is it because their mum didn’t bring her coat with her when they escaped the sperm donor? If so; does that mean their mother lost the other traits of a selkie (as was described about Alya having sharper teeth, claws, etc.) or is it another reason? Also I find it so upsetting that Alya’s mother couldn’t keep her coat like man wtf she suffered enough

THEY’RE SO CUTE. I love Juleka just rambling about her experience as a vampire with all that stuff and Alya’s rapidly writing everything down… the buddy cop duo of all time actually.

HA, Alya actively stalking observing Rose and Juleka as a fox at the end is so silly…

The way that I’m like so frustrated that Juleka doesn’t try harder at shape shifting… girl if I could turn into a few animals and all I had to do was practise a lot you best know I’d be experimenting on the reg

Hey… the gangs (mostly) all here! (plus Marinette)

To be perfectly honest with you; until I read this I never cared about Sabrina as a character. She just felt so directionless without Chloe there. Plus the writers kept flip flopping between Sabrina relishing in the nasty tasks Chloe gave her, ending up as a quieter mean girl or being this poor girl who’s Chloe’s lackey and is being pressured into everything. So in canon she had no consistent behaviour and had no substance behind her actions.

On the other hand, Chloe felt similarly baseless and like she was just used for cheap plot progression until they introduced her mother and everything sort of clicked into place, as far as I can remember they never did the same thing for Sabrina.

Like the show really didn’t give us anything but hints on how you could make her interesting but you write her fantastically :)

Like, you both managed to make her a really fun character to read by pulling from bits and pieces of the show and when adding the magical element to it all you created a very compelling person who has complex relationships with people and herself and it’s just a joy to read

HEHEHE I love Alya and Juleka covertly gathering information they’re so silly, the idea of them concocting this plan all mischievous like is so funny

Alix expertly changing the subject (“Marinette wasn’t you dad a werewolf Akuma?”) but still hinting towards being / having connections to a werewolf was very smooth I don’t think I noticed that before!

Question 7: Can a werewolf be Akumatized during a full moon? If so; what would happen? I’m ngl, this question does stem both from curiosity as I may have a little bit of a plan for that in my over complicated miraculous fic (Like, seriously, I get why you largely ignore Adrien, Marinette and the miraculous in this. Combining superhero + miraculous shenanigans AND monster / magical society AND civilian stuff into one, is a right bloody fucking nightmare to make it all fit together and figure out how the different aspects interact. It’s a lot of fun but jesus christ is it a pain in the arse to sort out)

EEEE, I love Sabrina and her changeling thingmies, it’s so much fun how you write the glamour being peeled away from each character once they have an ounce of evidence and are actively looking for it

Help not Juleka rolling her eyes at Marinette motor mouthing about Adrien, girl you are no better about Rose. Though I wonder why Adrien makes Juleka nervous.

Also, I wish we fucking went on nature walks more often. The last time I did that in school was when I was in primary 7 (grade 7 if you’re american… I actually don’t know if you are sorry) wait how old are the gang??

Question 8: How old is everyone in this?? Wait not literally everyone- you know what I mean!

Anyway. The point is a nature walk would rock and I love how absolutely none of the reveals for the monsters are the same! Like, Alya and Juleka’s ‘’confrontation’ was in her flat, Sabrina gets fucking lured through a forest by Juleka “Blunt as a dull hammer” Couffaine, and it goes on but I’ll natter on about them when we get there :3

Insane about the Sabrina backstory with her mother divorcing her dad after she found out Sabrina wasn’t the child she gave birth to. I headcanon that Roger also sucked ass at being a husband. He seems the sort.

Neither of her parents are the best but like I can understand freaking the fuck out that your child got kidnapped and you were left with something inhuman, I cannot, on the otherhand, understand Roger treating Sabrina as he did and then trying to get his ‘real’ daughter back… but we’ll get there and I can rant more!

I am curious about how they found out their baby got replaced, changelings are supposed to be convincing copies or were used as an excuse to kill physically deformed babies- but let’s not get into that!

Juleka’s simply speaking the truth about all the changeling nonsense largely pushed by how her dad talks about her.

YES GIRL SHE IS NOT A FAKE. SHE. IS. HER OWN. PERSON!!! Juleka + rightful rage about other people’s shitty situations is always so much fun, a bit depressing that she’s so much more vocal when it’s someone else but rarely if ever speaks up for herself. But fr, whenever you write a character going off about another character’s shitty parents / situation or whatever I’m always right there with whoever’s ranting and raving. You write righteous anger impeccably cap, the dialogue and the action tags, all of it gets the feeling across spectacularly.

Not the way that you said the stump Sabrina was sitting on was “now flourishing, not regrowing in any way, but moss and grass continued their newly improved growth, flowers blooming around their feet along with mushrooms and shrubbery.” is. Is this because Sabrina has been fucking smother by her dad her entire life and this is symbolic of how Juleka’s words affected her. If it is I’m a fucking eejit cause how did I miss that, it feels like it is because of how you phrased it. I mean it might be that but it is also foreshadowing about her botanical magic

Sabrina must be getting whiplash from Juleka suddenly being all chatty and asking pointed questions about her friendship with Chloe compared to her normally just like. Nervously standing somewhere in silence.

Also. Hey. Sabrina girly you’ve been dealing with this whole life altering revelation by yourself for four years? What the actual fuck? I feel so bad for her?? Like I am so glad the gang forms and she hashes out her shit with Chloe and- aaaaah… The gang is just such a good friend group, the dynamics feel fleshed out for all the characters…

Question 9: Hey. what the fuck is Ms. Bustier? I vaguely remember you saying something about her nearly being a succubbus and then rethinking that cause she’s a teacher, and I *think* that it’s implied she is the Fae Queen from that story about Anarka but I’m not sure… Obviously don’t say if it’s spoilers but I just realised I’ve kind of assumed she is Fae and idk if that’s correct

I do love the wee bit at the end with Alya and Sabrina jokingly pushing Juleka to get drunk off of Fae blood, it’s really funny. Also in my head Fae blood is a dark turquoise and I’ve just realised you said “off-coloured blood” not fucking blue where did I get that from???

Question 1: Glamour is both a defense mechanism and a hunting mechanism! In terms for defense, its used by monsters to hide from being hunted or bothered. In terms of hunting, creatures like vampires and kelpies benefit from looking "normal"

Question 2: As for Marinette's reaction, she just straight up didn't notice Alya's coat! It confused her, and when Marinette gets confused by something she gets curious and suspicious. But she was made to show the difference between her, a normal human, and Juleka, a monster who knows what to look for.

Question 3: Juleka has a desire to count things but its not very intense its more like a subtle observation. It's also deeply uncomfortable and slightly scary to cross running water. Juleka would dub it a phobia of getting carried away by the water. She also gets pretty bad sunburns, she won't turn to dust, but god will it hurt to go out without a hat or sunscreen on for a full day.

Question 4: Suggestion magic kinda taps into a curse side of things I imagine! Like, putting someone magically into your debt by being polite. I imagine the origin lies in Fae stuff.

Question 5: They are in fact different! Juleka is a born vampire, meaning while she's sensitive to sunlight she will not die, and other 'holy' objects won't immediately kill her. She can also eat human food. Meanwhile, to be bitten into a vampire means Dying. When you're bitten by a vampire, you dont turn unless that bite Kills You.

Thus bitten vampires are undead, and Will die in direct sunlight, and can only survive on blood.

Question 6: You're correct! Etta and Ella lack the traits because Alya's mom lacks her coat. Im unsure if that means Marlena's own traits are fading without it.

Question 7: I think it would be VERY difficult to akumatize a full moon werewolf since theres little emotions involved with the creature. Only instincts.

Question 8: I think they're around 16-17 in this!

since you're caught up on the Locked Tomb, I thought I'd send some asks your way because I'm kind of curious:

1) I've gathered Cam and Pal are your favorite characters, but do you any particular favourite moments/quotes of them? Or just why you love them as characters in general?

2) any plot twists you didn't see coming but liked?

3) any dark horse characters that grew on you over the series or that you'd want to see more of?

EEEE I SURE DID!! Okay, warning for anyone that is not caught up with it or plans to read it, that there are going to be spoilers below. You have been warned!!

Yes, they are my favourites.😔 Friends specifically told me to read the books because they are "very much my flavour" and they were right. Which is very rude of them, tbqh :/// As for the why, it's a lot of things, I think. From a character design perspective, I've always been a sucker for scholarly types like Pal, and you can never go wrong with short hair and double swords like Cam. I like that they have a decent amount of contrast and are quite different from each other in some ways while also being soooo alike in others. From a thematic perspective, all the bits and parallels around devotion, identity, and responsibility. How just by knowing someone, we add 'indelibly to their weight'. How this is explored both as a positive and negative thing. How just by knowing someone else - dare I say, to tame or be tamed by another 👀- can change us irreversibly. How burdening those we care about is something we have to come to terms with, and that being burdened can in and of itself be an act of care. How these themes are exacerbated and mixed with plurality and merging. The ever important question of 'where do you end and i begin'? For moments and quotes, a lot of my favourite things about them are just how they interact with one another (or with other characters). The sort of relationship where words often aren't necessary. How so much of their connection is conveyed in actions. "Tell Cam... never mind, she knows what to do." and the "what to do" is her collecting the fragments of his skull off the floor?? that she glues back together with her own hands?? then travelled millions or billions of light years to meet with the one person that can pull his soul back into it??? Her carrying him, despite the risk and harm it poses to herself, because he doesn't have a vessel anymore??? Pal asking Nona to "give this to Cam" and it's a kiss to the back of her hand???? Sick!! Twisted!! I demand financial compensation for damages!!!! Cam had every right to go sit in the bathtub about that!!! What the hell man!!! But I would be remiss not to mention the conversations they have across the voice recorder when they can't speak face to face, the co-fronting/synergy thing that happens when the protect Nona at the beach, and of course: "Life is too short and love is too long."

I'll admit I was spoiled a bit to some things going in so that skews this answer a bit. There were certainly some things I predicted incorrectly but then was like "OF COURSE THAT'S HOW IT HAPPENED, HOW COULD I HAVE ASSUMED DIFFERENTLY". I was not expecting that many people to die in the first book tbh. What happened to the Fourth and Fifth houses hit particularly hard. Was not expecting Gideon to find a decapitated head in Harrow's closet. I think the most surprises I had were in the second book though. Kept asking myself what the heck was going on. The narrator reveal was such an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Like, I kind of figured that was the case but I wasn't expecting that to be how we found out. Camilla showing up somehow out of nowhere?? The full extent of Harrow and Gideon's origins had me at a loss for words. Also the epilogue leading into Nona had me soooooo confused.

Yes. I absolutely adored Augustine. Big fan of his whole vibe; i miss him. Also really liked Magnus, Abigail, and Ortus in the second book. Especially them stepping up and being the Responsible Adults™ Harrow never really had, but always deserved. Also Polyamory Win with both whatever Pyrrha and Dulcie had respectively going on with Cam and Pal aha. Very big fan of Dulcinea in general. From her appearance in htn to popping up in The Unwanted Guest. I don't know how we could see more of her, but I would not be complaining if we did. Muir is really good at characterization tho, i don't know that there have really been any characters I've actively disliked. 🤔

FGO’s Gudaguda event, “THE Great Tea Ceremony Battle: GudaGuda New Yamataikoku - The Man Who Returned from Hell -” (This has got to be the longest name for an event yet the hell)

I WANT THIS GUY TO BE PLAYABLE SO FUCKING BAD!!! In the last Gudaguda event there was three amazing (about to be cut down to two) characters who weren’t playable and now this?!?? He even has his own voice-actor and everything!!! —WHICH!!!–means there’s a possibility that he might be playable(?!) Pleasepleasepleaseplease make him playable!!! I really like Rikyu’s design especially how creepy she can get (basically I just like the artstyle, very cool 👍✨ :3)

Eeee okay!

1. Honestly she reminds me a shite ton of one of my OC's (whom i will show off properly in due time DW) both in her design and personality, plus i just like how STUPID and GOOFY she is, she's a little goober i like her :). Also, May and her two sisters have a lot of mystery surrounding them, we don't know where they're from, we don't know how deep their love for their respective Ed's are, we're not even sure what they like or dislike because of how little they're used outside of being the end to the episode. All in all i like May because she's a dumb, goofy, stinky, grotesque little cretin that i like very much

2. Honestly you could just take everything i said for 1 and put it here buuut to be a little more specific, i like how she has potential to grow if that makes any sense? We've seen her more gentle and socially acceptable side in Hanky Panky Hullabaloo when she made Ed a little valentines card without any malicious intent behind it, i just like how much she cares about him despite how she goes about showing off said care. Aside from that i like how she mirrors Ed by often being used as a tool or a weapon by Lee and Marie, it's a pretty small detail but it's just really funny to me IDK why LuL. Also also her knowing a little bit about chemistry is honestly a very fresh take on the "idiot" character archetype, we need more dumbasses that are knowledgeable in a random academic field!

3. IDK if i've ever said this here but i don't like the Kanker kissing scenes that much, if at all, they're just kinda bland and annoying and seeing my little dummy being a part of them is just eugh. And the ending to Key To My Ed gave me pink eye because of how disgusting it was i'm sorry LMAO

7. Shipping her with Double D :), it's not exactly my OTP (EdMay for life babyyy) but it's honestly so cute seeing these two goofballs together, kinda wish we got more fanart of the two even outside ship art

8. Ignoring her existence in fanfics :(, this honestly happens to most of the cast which is kinda sad to see but i rarely see any mention of her or her sisters in fanfics (even when they are in the story they're always playing second fiddle to someone else (cough cough EddEddy cough cough)). Also i HATE how often she's sexualised like, are you dense? What's wrong with you leave her ALONE you backwashed son of a bitch

It'd suit you a lot better than that old black suit and tie you always like to, like, wear! I really like it! It could have been a bit better with a cape or something, though. Joey: "I'm not, like, a huge video game buff like Acey is, but I think I, like, recognize that costume from one of the characters in, like, his computer games he plays. I think you, like, do a lot of good justice, Joey! And those lyrics... I recognize them from one of, like, my sister's favorite bands! Really cool!"

Ren: "Vox! That outfit is, like, really sick! It reminds me of the outfit you wore for, like, your "Dark Symphony" concert! It looks, like, hella awesome!"

Kunio: "Aww, that costume is, like, so sweet and beautiful! I love the, like, backstory behind it! It reminds me of a plot from one of my favorite, like, fantasy movies! It's so sweet!"

Asato: "A... watermelon fairy? Huh. You know, that, like, reminds me of a story Rash told me about a girl who was, like, born out of a watermelon or something. I forget her, like, name, though. Maki: "Zzzz... Huh? Oh! Sorry, but I kinda fell asleep during this guy's, like, history lesson! The costume is, like, really cool! I like tigers, and I've never seen one, like, used on a person before! It's really awesome!"

Kyō - "Kyo! That's, like, a really awesome outfit! It reminds me of, like, Aladdin or something! Only thing missing is, like, the glass lamp with the genie inside! But yeah, I really like this one!"

Lyall - "Ohh! That's a really neat outfit design, Lyall! It looks like something you'd see a male-version of Elsa from Frozen, like, wearing! ...You mind if I borrow that for Acey for next year's Halloween?"

Seiji - "Ohh, a king! That's nice, but... where's your, like, sparkly gold crown? All kings and queens need a crown! That's just, like, my opinion, but you can't, like, be royalty if you don't have a crown!"

Rintaro - "A dragon? ...Ohh! Does that mean you're the, like, bad guy that Kyler gets to slay to rescue the, like, princess?! We should definitely do that for a play or something!"

Yorii - "Ohh, a bunny rabbit! That's adorable! I don't really, like, know much about this Jade Rabbit thing, though. I'll have to look it up, but still, the costume is, like, really adorable!"

Ace - "Acey!! You make such, like, an adorable and handsome angel! But I hope you, like, don't literally die anytime soon. Life would be, like, hell without you! ...Sorry! I couldn't resist saying that! But still, points from me, Acey!"

finished wof book 2 (NO spoilers for book 3 or onwards thank you ) EEEE this book was great, queen coral was so. !?!??!??!?!?!?! funky! in like, a neutral way, idk how i totally feel about her. i really like webs & riptide and ?? ohmygod kestrel’s dead??????? i thought she’d have a cool redemption arc or something.... I LOVE ANEMONE!!!!!!! I LOVE HERRRRRRRR!!!!! littol babie... let her be free.. ALSO also i dont remember which character said it but it was like “the nightwi- the talons of peace!” ... stares intensely. SO INTERESTING clay was cool, i feel bad for him, i LOVE glory, tsunami is cool, still love sunny, starflight is.... mysterious, but i still rlly like him reading book 3 tomorrow! might try to learn how to draw dragons tonight so i can start designing them too!

Azul is the glasses guy, yes!! He isn't exactly my type, but his character is interesting to me and I'm starting to see his appeal. I think I like him because of his cunning behavior and the way he gathers information so seamlessly. Also, he's attractive and has scary eel henchmen who would probably capture his darling if they made a run for it. But Ace also became an enjoyable character for me! At first I wasn't sure what to think of him, but I like how he was unrestrained when he was spitting facts at Riddle. King behavior. I'd like to have him as my friend! :D

Those types of characters are very good! As for my favorite dorm, I would have to say either Heartslabyul because Riddle's there I adore anything Alice in Wonderland themed or Octavinelle because I love the ocean and its many sea creatures. You have great taste with your favorite dorm!! Alice in Wonderland has such a pretty aesthetic!

Prison feel... Warden Riddle... Omg. It fits him scarily well!! Actually, 'prison' reminded me of Nanbaka lol. Have you ever read or seen it? It's very funny and I recommend it!! First off, I absolutely adored Chapter Six. Normally I don't like angst because it makes me cry, but holy shit. The beginning with Connie and Jean was amazing and I was really happy to see them included! When they were hugging the cows melted my heart. My boys!

The reader trying to get into the house to be with Annie when she found out about going back actually had my heart beating. It really shows how much she cares about Annie, just wanting to be there with her. And when Annie said she'd only come if the reader stayed-- be still my heart! Though like I said, it was devastating.

SORRY SORRY IM SORRY. thank you sooo much pink!! i loved writing Connie and Jean. they remind me of my goofball brothers, so maybe that's why i had so much fun?

I'm glad you loved it! :D maybe sounds very repetitive but i really love when the people say "I love how you drawn my OC!" and everytime that gives me a smile and a small "EEEE" <- silly

I am happy to announce that I finally finished a little project of mine, the nightlight animatronics! Eeee finally my own version of the fnaf crew and I'm super happy with them! Heres some character info for these wackos!

After all the good ol freddy fazbear events and tragedies, the nightlights were made. Fazbear entertainment has opened a brand new restaurant to lighten up the mood to make everyone forget the rumors and secrets from the original fazbear restaurants. Nothing spooky here! No ghostly souls and no hidden secrets, just super advanced robots with some concerning and dangerous design choices

Nightlight bonnie:

Light theme: blacklight/string lights

Shape: circles

Special mechanic design: spikes on the knuckles. It's a very cool look for bonnie, but very dangerous around the kiddos since those spikes can poke an eye out

Personality: for an animatronic meant to perform on stage all day, he isnt very good at his job for being so stage fright. NL bonnie is a shy and quiet push over who would rather just sit there and draw rather than socialize. Bonnie is constantly worrying and being scared of so many things but feels very safe around his pals.

Nightlight freddy:

Light Theme: neon lights

Shape: triangles

Special mechanic ability: he doesnt need one, he can find many clever ways to murder someone easily. Not that, hes killed before..haha

Personality: everyone fears him. Hes usually pretty calm and quiet and always has an evil smirk on his face, but the crew sees freddy as a scary boss man. NL freddy is pretty moody and being tired n grumpy somewhere, but once its showtime, hes really not a bad guy at all! He loves to perform and loves to be a scary ringmaster like guy because it spooks the audience, but brings himself some joy.

Nightlight chica:

Light theme: candles and sparklers (fire basically)

Shape: hearts

Special mechanic ability: fire. Chica can control the fire that comes out of the candles. When shes calm, the flames are pretty low. When she's excited, the candles become sparklers. When shes upset, thats....that's really bad for all of us

Personality: chica would be bouncing off the walls 24/7. Shes super hyper all the time and nobody knows where all that energy comes from. Shes a really sweet gal and always knows how to cheer people up by bringing them deserts and making them laugh. Just dont try and get her upset, her temper is really bad and can be messy

Nightlight foxy:

Light theme: glow in the dark (stars)

Shape: stars

special mechanic ability: a grappling hook! nobody knows what the purpose of foxy’s reattaching hook, but he has it!

Personality: nightlight foxy is a very jolly fox indeed. Hes always up for adventure and tries to be everyones hero. He loves telling stories constantly and seems like a very cool and tough fox but can be a real softy too.
