i love that there is a unanimous agreement within the fandom that Edy Ganem needs to go and Lou Ferrigno Jr. needs to stay.

like even if you think the Eddie&Marisol relationship stays a bit longer, you agree Marisol should be recasted. she’s not important character enough to recast tbh, but that’s neither here nor there. we dislike Edy so much and rightfully so.

Lou on the other hand? we need him to stick around forever pls. he’s so funny with his social media presence and Tommy is just brilliant. even tho we don’t want bucktommy endgame, we want to keep Tommy and make sure he is happy.

(i am ignoring the fact that i saw someone say the writers alluded that Tommy is gonna be there only for few episodes. let me live in my blissful ignorance.)

i’ve gotten a few asks / dms about the edy ganem thing which feels weird bc i am not a large account by ANY means but alas.

basically back during s6 edy posted this / this apology to her story. which. yall can draw your own conclusions to lol.

and recently has been liking / replying to comments like this (which, as many have pointed out, she knew about the bi storyline when she wrote this lol)

and saying things like this about the basketball scene (on what i believe was oliver’s post about the basketball scene?) anyway it feels condescending to me but i always read into things.

anyway! as your local hr queen i just find it….,.,,., weird! i wouldn’t say things like this (where my coworkers / peers / etc could see) personally but yknow. we (should) all be adults on this app and can draw our own conclusions! anyway! 🙂‍↔️

Marisol and Eddie’s relationship has no depth. We saw one phone call at the end of season 6, and we have only had one scene between the two of them that lasted a few seconds, and there was no chemistry between the two. There is no reason why we should care about this relationship or become invested in this relationship.

Now I don't have an issue with Marisol because we know nothing about her. We don't even know her last name.

What I do know is how the actress is behaving. How she is openingly supporting all homopobic remarks. How she has made digs at fans who want to see Buddie happen and support comments that aren't happy Buck has come out bisexual.

It is not about her playing Eddie’s girlfriend, who we know nothing about. It is about her being unable to be a decent human who doesn't care about stories like Hen and Karen's love story or Buck's journey as he explores his bisexuality.

So no, my issues aren't with the character but the actress who is horrible. 911 is about to explore a storyline featuring one of their most popular characters, and an actress like her who is clearly against it only taints her character.

This is not about Buddie or who Eddie's dating at all but ABC really needs to get the memo that literally no one wants Edy Ganem's transphobic/homophobic ass on our gayfightershow.

Here's the thing:

If we ignore how Ryan has always acted Eddie out around Buck, how Oliver has acted right back as Buck, the fact that Buck is now canonically out as bi, how they've been co-parenting Christopher for years, the gayest break up ever being filmed between Eddie and Ana/A(h)na, and the Catholic guilt of it all [insert GIF of Crowley's list], Marisol could've been Eddie's endgame, but Edy made the audience hate her.

I try not to think about Edy Ganem too much but this episode puts things in perspective, especially her recent IG posts. She wraps filming 7x05 and Marisol and Eddie are still together, she's got a call back for 7x07? She could totally think her character is gonna be around for a while.

Then filming 7x07 happens. Her IG posts and story after filming (seeming upset, focusing on auditions) to me hints she might be done and that it wasn't necessarily expected. And the episode title? Ghost of a Second Chance? We know now that Eddie and Marisol are on their second chance.

If they do break up, I'm hoping that 7b or even 8a delivers the Eddie sexuality arc we might have had in 7a, because now that we know it existed in some form or fashion I will not be able to let it go. If it turns out that it was one or the other with Buck's coming out arc? That might actually break me. Buddie canon has never felt closer... or further away.

Yeah, the vibe I am getting from interviews is that they will be doubling down on Eddie being Very Heterosexual this season.

I am thinking I will skip watching season 7 for the moment and check in again in 6 months when Season 8 starts up. I'm just not going to be able to enjoy the individual moments in a episode when there is a potential Marisol jump scare around every corner.

I enjoy the Ana seasons in retrospect, knowing that she gets ditched in the most satisfying way possible ("I liked the idea of us". Ouch.) so if Marisol has exited by season 8 I will enjoy the episodes more than if I watched them live.

And by the end of this season it will be clear if Marisol has been given a job as a nurse / doctor / reporter / police officer / dispatcher that would indicate they want to keep her around as Eddie's permanent partner and I can just exit the show.

I wish they would just let that man be gay.

Everytime I see that clip of Buck & Tommy’s date from the promo, I can’t help but get kinda pissed off knowing that that woman filmed that scene then went on to reply cutesy lil heart emojis to insta comments lamenting the show “turning straight characters gay”. Just an added layer of awful to what was already such disgusting behavior.
