Ed Prosek returns with "Mercy"

“I have never kept a traditional diary but I can look back on my life since I first started writing music, and each one opens a detailed insight to how I was feeling” states Ed on his songwriting process, but it’s much more than a musical journalling. Ed has a rare gift in which his songwriting is simultaneously heartbreakingly personal yet wildly relatable, with his songs resonating closely with your own personal story. Mercy sees Ed reimagine the balladesque love song formula, with a personified ode to his love affair with songwriting. Performing like an overture, the tender strings of the introduction dutifully complement Ed’s honeyed vocal, painting vivid imagery on a complicated romance. I wrote it after a few months of being down and having trouble writing, this song helped me breakthrough that. I like to take complex, classically influenced concepts and musical ideas and make them sound simple and accessible.” Following ‘Killing Me’ from late 2019, Ed continues to excel in his winding narrative of self-expression, with his music sitting in a blissful grey area between singer-songwriter, classical and electronic. KILLING ME heißt die neue Single von Ed Prosek und ist Vorbote seiner EP Flesh & Blood Part 2, die Ende des Jahres erscheint. Der Song passt wunderbar in die stürmische Herbstzeit, mit all den ups and downs. Der kalifornische Sänger Ed Prosek packt in seiner neuen Single Killing Me seine 'alten Ängste' am Kragen und lässt mit der wunderbar düsteren Popnummer tief in seine Seele blicken. Dieser Song bildet einen Kontrast zu früheren Stücken, in denen angstvoll durchwachte und durchdachte Nächte im Mittelpunkt stehen. Music Discovery - Ed Prosek

I love discovering new music and then telling all my friends about it. I think its one of the reasons I love creating my own music. By sharing my songs and stories, I might hit someone with my lyrics or melody that makes their hair stand on end. I put a post out on facebook earlier today asking my friends to share some new music with me, as my Itunes library and Spotify playlists weren’t doing it for me this morning. My friend Philip Pearson ( Addisons Uncle - You should check them out, great folk band on the rise ) suggested that I check out Ed Prosek. So I did. Within 30 seconds of listening to Ed’s first track on his EP The Riverbed I was hooked to his soothing folk/country sound. A few listens later and I stumbled onto his track ‘California’. This is the track that made my hair stand on end. Its lyrically hit me in a way that made me want to curl up in a blanket, put my headphones on and watch the rain hit my London loft Velux window, whilst re assessing life. The beautifully plucked acoustic guitar and Ed’s soothing vocals along with some luscious harmonies were just perfect combination for today’s listening. So thankyou Ed for creating something I think is stunning.

I love finding good music on adverts, especially when the advert itself is so random. Cathedral City has a brand new advert for its amazing cheese, and it features a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's song Homeward Bound by a brilliant artist called Ed Prosek.

Ed (Eduard) Prosek released his EP, 'California', early on this year, and it's an eloquent, brilliant and honest piece of art. You really get a feel for the story painted, the images projected, the thoughts felt. In short, it's pretty good stuff.
