@elizmanderson I just finished reading The Remarkable Retirement of Edna Fisher and I loved every minute of it! I am not great at writing reviews, but the characters touched my heart and it's going to be a permanent part of my library. Thank you so much for bringing this into the world.
All my followers, check out this story!!

tww drabble exchange team! i have here a list of media that i’m very fond of for secret drabble purposes (i.e. any hallowe’en costumes or maybe crossover if you can make it work?? some of these are definitely here for costume purposes only). i realise that not everyone knows all the stuff i’m into and i don’t even talk about all of these on a daily basis. i hope you can find some common ground so we can be unwell about these characters together! you can go with a very subtle reference or like a full-on whatever your brain comes up with, as per my chaos request
you can use these however you wish—individual characters as costumes (or random crossover)—or couples costumes. ship them cross-media if you like??? with media that contains m/f, cross-dressing is very welcome unless stated otherwise (in which case i probably don’t want the male character(s)). anywhere i’ve put a ship name, assume the individual characters are up for grabs too
i’ve probably forgotten something, so if you’re like, “what about _?” send me an anon and i’ll let you know if it’s something i like or don’t mind receiving a reference for!

D23 2017 Expo
D23 is the most fun and amazing Disney experience ever created outside of the celebrated Disney Parks & Resorts, this event takes place every two years in the City of Anaheim. Home of the "Happiest Place on Earth" Disneyland ♡
"All the magic and excitement of the past, present, and future of Disney entertainment comes together under one roof when D23: The Official Disney Fan Club presents D23 Expo." -- The Official Disney Fan Club
This year at D23 we got array of surprises and got to see first hand new products coming to the parks and retail stores. Let's take a look at the fun new surprises coming to the different resorts.
The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim will obviously be getting a new Star Wars land as promised at previous D23 but what they didn't mention was the lands official name will be Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. Take a look at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Showcase featured at D23
Then the Magic Kingdom will also be getting a luxury resort that is all immersive with Star Wars Resort. Both Magic Kingdom and & Disneyland will get more Pixar, with Pixar Pier coming to Disneyland's California Adventure Park and take over the Paradise Pier. Then a Toy Story Land will go to Hollywood Land in Walt Disney World as well as a new attraction Tron Legacy which I can not wait for all of this! Take a look at all Bob Chapek Chairman of The Walt Disney Parks & Resort had to announce.
Also another fun thing to see at the D23 Expo was I got to see some of the best and fun cosplay ever from disney fans every where take a look! Mulan was one of my favorites so Elegant and beautiful. Also Princess Jasmine in her red seductress outfit, I love it!
Then there was fun places to go as a guest and take some fun pictures, like the Duck Tales photo op provided by the new show launching on Disney XD. Or the Luxo Ball backdrop near the Pixar Animation showcase. Also the Pirate of the Carribean 50th Anniversary photo opportunity celebrating the attractions milestone. So many things to do and see.
One of my favorite expierence was the ability to meet an ICON.
EDNA MODE
I normally don't get star struck, Edna & Rihanna are probably the only two I totally loose it. She is ICONIC! I love fashion, design, and consumer sciences. Edna embodies art, design, and strong attentions to details. Edna Mode is everything! Edna and I talked about the new Incredibles films to how Doctor Strange needs to loose the cape. Zendaya's look at the Met Gala gave us life in that Dolce & Gabanna piece and how Luxury Law Roach is changing imagery and is a Image Architect. She also said tid bits of new collections coming to Milan's Fashion Week. Truly Honestly Truly ICONIC.
Pixar always has a lot of announcements to make and display at D23 from COCO, Incredibles, Toy Story sooooo many great films coming our way and Cars 3 feature was adorable I loved Fritter Bus ...
Disney Animation also gave a closer look at the new WRECK IT RALPH 2 FILM! Where Ralph Wrecks the Internet, URL Life will never be the same! I cant wait for that film to release I loveddddddddddd the first film soooooo much ! I do hope they expand on the Wreck It Ralph franchise and bring the characters to the resort, because Vanelope was great but lets not forget CAPTAIN CALHOUN!!! was my favorite, and is my favorite Disney Character of all time. One of the great things they mentioned at the panel was that disney princess will be in film with original character voice reunited for this film. SOOOOO EXCITED!
I am already overwhelmed just thinking about all the amazing things happening! Now lets get into things I love most Merchandise!!!! Some great things this year at D23 was a bigger presence of Disney's Consumer Products & Imagineering. My most favorite place of all where the Magic gets to come home with you in neat products. This year I was able to visit and look at the DCPI showcase and look at fun merchandise from death star popcorn makers, to OH MY Disney stage featuring fashion and all fun things.
Now I wasnt able to make it into the Disney Store unfortunately it had a 3hr+ waiting line, or Mickey's of Glendale (MOG) and I had a ton of things to see. I was able to make it into the:
DREAM STORE
Which the Dream Store truly gets the importance of coordinating lines, they get it truly since the Dream Store is operated by Disneyland Parks & Resort Store Ops Team! WHOOT WHOOT goo Resort Store Ops!! There was sooo much to see and buy! Exclusive merch to art to new minnie mouse ear headbands coming to resort in Sept! All that good good !! Honestly amazing work from Miss Mindy and her new sculptures and art, Jerrod Maruyama new hipster minnie and small world piece, Shags art piece, John Coulter's villains !!!! soo good #ded!!!! Take a look!
If you are like me then you will room the entire expo and admire all wonderful things to see from a man making a groot from balloons, to spiderman lego figure. Or even admire the gowns from Disney films of princess or Minnie Mouse uber chic Haute Collection of her own. Even having live demonstrations.
This event is soo great and amazing. This year Disney celebrated some amazing people who helped shape ABC,MARVEL,STAR WARS,ANIMATION,FILM. Such as our beloved Princess Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamil, Marvel Legend Stan Lee, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Clyde “Gerry” Geronimi, Manuel Gonzales, Wayne Jackson, Jack Kirby, Garry Marshall, and Julie Taymor. All whom were recipients of this coveted award and have left such distinct impacts in their field and Walt Disney Company.
I can't wait to see all the amazing projects presented unfold and what's to come to the future D23.
Until next time D23.

Home Entertainment Consumer Guide: November 8, 2018
10 NEW TO NETFLIX
"Bram Stoker's Dracula" "Cape Fear" "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" "Filmworker" "Ghostbusters" "Morris From America" "National Lampoon's Animal House" "The Raid: Redemption" "United 93"
6 NEW TO BLU-RAY/DVD
"12 Monkeys" (Arrow)
Terry Gilliam emerged from the world of Monty Python and became one of the most fascinating director of the '80s and '90s, directing masterpieces like "Brazil" and "The Fisher King," both available in the Criterion Collection. To be honest, I remembered liking his Oscar-nominated 1996 loose adaptation of "La Jetee" but kind of put it on Gilliam's second tier. It's closer to the first, as evidenced in this gorgeous new Blu-ray release from Arrow Home Video. First of all, the 4K restoration is mindblowing, one of the best HD transfers of the year. Gilliam's world has depth and nuance in ways that it never has before, enhancing the overlal experience of the film. Second, the film's themes of responsibility and that form of insanity when it feels like you're the only person who really knows what's going on in the world still resonate. I still have some performance issues (Stowe, an actress I usually like, is bland) but this is the kind of visual feast that's perfect for a company that loves movies like Arrow. It gets me even more excited for next year's "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote."

"BlacKkKlansman"
Speaking of filmmakers who meant the world to me in the '80s and '90s, one of my favorite film stories of 2018 has to be the critical adoration for Spike Lee's latest film, one of his most searing and impressive in his recent filmography. I don't go in for the "Return to Form" stories around this flick though because Lee never really dropped as much as people think ("Chi-raq" is great) and I also think this movie is a tier just below his career best films like "Malcolm X," "Do the Right Thing," and "25th Hour." However, I'd be fine if it overperformed during awards season just to make up for the dozen or so times that Spike Lee was taken for granted this time of year. It's passionate, fascinating, funny, and moving, with great performances and more ideas for viewers to dissect and discuss than a dozen other films combined. It's an essential film of 2018.

"The Incredibles 2"
Does Pixar know something we don't? For years, everyone clamored for a sequel to "The Incredibles," to the point that it looked like it might never happen or people might not care when it eventually did. Of course, it did happen and it was GIGANTIC. It's the highest grosssing film in the history of Pixar, bringing in over $600 million domestically and over a billion worldwide. It is the ninth highest grossing film OF ALL TIME, and the highest grossing animated film of all time. Oh, and it's gonna win an Oscar for Best Animated Film unless there's voter tampering. And, of course, Disney/Pixar has delivered for fans with a gorgeous Blu-ray that includes a great transfers and extensive special features. One thing that's particularly nice is the inclusion of the short film that played with it, "Bao." Pixar often shuttles their shorts off to special releases, but it's nice to have "Bao" where it belongs, as well as a new short film called "Auntie Edna."

"Mandy"
Little was more fun this Fall than watching the buzz that I heard at Sundance about Panos Cosmatos' "Mandy" filter down from the mountains and out to the rest of the world. A movie that RLJ basically tried to shunt off to the video market was too batshit crazy to stay there, resulting in sold out screenings at places like the Music Box here in Chicago. Movies like "Mandy" don't make over a $1 million domestically, but that's a threshold that this wonderfully strange movie crossed. And it still feels like it's just getting started. I've already lent my copy to a friend. I'm sure other people are doing the same. "Mandy" ain't going anywhere, and strikes me as one of the films from 2018 that people will still be watching in 2028.

"The Princess Bride" (Criterion)
Speaking of movies that persist, there may be no film released in more special edition DVD and Blu-ray sets than "The Princess Bride," which has gotten Special/Anniversary/Limited editions since the DVD was invented. It's hard to believe anyone who's had a DVD player for any amount of time doesn't own it by now, but the Criterion release offers ample reason to upgrade. Of course, it will always be about the movie itself, which has never looked this good, courtesy of a 4K restoration. Believe it or not, Criterion also found a way to produce new special features, including two about William Goldman's beloved screenplay, and an interview with the film's art director. The set also includes tons of archival material that was on previous DVDs and Blu-rays. This really is the ultimate release for one of the most beloved films of its generation. It's a great idea for a holiday gift for the movie lover on your list.

"Teen Titans Go! To the Movies"
The film adaptation of the Cartoon Network hit kind of flopped at the box office, opening in 5th place (although it's worth noting that it only cost $10 million and made five times that worldwide). I hope more people catch up with it at home as it's a surprisingly funny, smart movie that deserves a bigger audience than, say, "The Grinch." In a week year for animation, it's a standout, offering jokes that work for both kids and adults.
