Froyo
Synopsis: During a premiere red carpet with Drew, an interviewer’s question accidentally reveals that a seemingly ordinary dinner was actually Drew’s attempt at a first date covered by two random tiktoks. Pairing: Drew Starkey x Actress!Reader Word Count: IDK I'm too sleep deprived to count A/N: I know I still owe you guys a Gwayne Hightower fanfic, but the chokehold Drew fucking Starkey has on me is insane. btw, I realized this is the second time I've created a fic based on real people vs the normal Marvel character thingy I do. And to be honest, there's gonna be a lot more... so maybe I should make this a series considering they're all triggered by an interview and Y/N's always an actress lol. ALSO at the end, there's a poll on what you think should happen next, and best believe I'll do my best to write that.
There’s an edit circulating on TikTok of you and your co-star Drew Starkey from your red carpet interview together. You’re both starring in an Amazon limited series about college classmates who become close after witnessing your professor’s murder and are now on a shared mission to solve the crime. You’ve known him closely for a year now, but have been following his career even before that. I mean, who wouldn’t? The man is gorgeous. But of course, you couldn’t let him know that.
As shooting began, the two of you grew closer, and you decided to be professional and put that whole fascination aside. You’ve both even dated other actors and celebrities, which have also been topics for gossip channels and paparazzi photos. Despite all that, you’ve hung out plenty, mostly in groups but also during breaks in filming—often grabbing lunch and coffee together.
Today, you and Drew are laughing as you finally see the edit that’s been at the top of both your PR’s nightmare list.
You’re dressed in an elegant beige gown, skin-tight and slightly sheer, which Carrie Bradshaw would definitely call the naked dress. Your hair is pulled back in a low bun, bangs effortlessly framing your face. You’ve just arrived at the red carpet, taking your time to chat with interviewers. The first few questions are light, mostly about how fun it was working on set and, of course, what you're wearing.
After a few minutes, Drew catches up to you. He’s in a baby blue suit, sepia shades covering his eyes, smelling incredible. His presence is like a tight, warm hug—well, a little tighter on your chest. His voice sends tingles down your spine as he whispers, one hand casually placed on the small of your back.
“What did I miss?” He smiles at you and the interviewer.
“Oh, nothing much, I was just telling Amelia how you’re always late to everything.” You smirk, shooting a playful look at the camera. Amelia, your interviewer, raises her eyebrows dramatically, playing along. Both of you laugh as Drew backs away, feigning offense.
“I’ve been here since like—” He starts to defend himself.
“Like five minutes ago,” you say, rolling your eyes.
“Valid,” he agrees with a shrug, laughing.
Amelia continues her interview, moving on to ask about the possibility of a second season.
“I mean, yeah, I’d love to do a second season, for sure,” you nod, glancing at Drew, who’s nodding along, letting you take the lead. “But I’m not sure if it makes sense, since it was originally written as a one-season story. For that to happen, someone might have to die again so Kelsea and James can investigate something new.”
Kelsea and James are the names of the characters you play—who, of course, end up dating on the show.
“So you’re saying someone has to die for the two of you to get back together on set?” Amelia jokes, her deadpan delivery only making it funnier.
“I mean, I don’t know!” You laugh. “You’re twisting my words, Amelia!”
“I honestly think you just don’t want to hang out with me anymore, Y/N,” Drew chimes in, a playful pout on his face. “I’m hurt.”
“Is that why there wasn’t a second date?” Amelia asks, teasingly. Her tone is light, but the question lands hard. Drew’s eyes widen in surprise, his smile freezing as if even he didn’t see that one coming. He covers his mouth, trying not to laugh while you stand there, looking utterly confused.
“Second date? What?” You laugh, trying to figure out if this is some sort of red carpet joke you weren’t briefed on. You glance at Drew, who’s just shaking his head, still grinning but not offering any explanations.
You lower your voice, leaning towards him, “What is she—what date?” You chuckle awkwardly, trying to maintain your cool, though the confusion is clearly written all over your face. Drew glances at Amelia, then back at you, and you can tell he feels a little bad now.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity of awkward silence, Drew admits, “When we got dinner and froyo.” He says it so nonchalantly that it takes you a second to process.
“That was a date?!” you whisper-yell, smacking his arm, your jaw practically hitting the floor. “You said it was just dinner!”
“I know!” Drew laughs, his cheeks turning a little pink. “I said that because I thought you didn’t like me back! I was sending out signals!”
“What signals?” you ask, still reeling from the shock. “That’s unfair, you said it was just dinner! I feel so bad—I didn’t know!” You place your hand on his arm, squeezing it apologetically. You’re both laughing now, but you’re also genuinely flustered.
“I did tell you!” Drew protests. “I said, ‘Do you want to have dinner with me? And you were like, ‘Are we bringing Madz along?’ And when I said no, you were like, ‘Why?’”
“That is not enough, Drew!” You laugh, cheeks burning with embarrassment. Your PR team is probably dying, but at least this little moment might boost some publicity for the show. You actually remember the video Amelia might be referring to; your assistant had sent it to you a few months back. You found it interesting and even funny because you honestly thought it was just a fan shipping the two of you together—cutting together videos and photos of you and Drew when you were out to eat. You try to recall what that day was like and pick apart whatever signals Drew was referring to, but you really can’t remember anything different from the way he’s interacted with you since you two first met.
You realize the gag has gone on long enough and decide to wrap it up before the awkwardness can escalate further.
“Amelia, I’m so sorry about this,” you say with a dramatic sigh, trying to regain your composure. “Even while confessing his undying love for me, he’s still late. Men, what can you do?”
Drew, still chuckling, wraps an arm around you and presses a soft kiss to your forehead, his way of apologizing. You feel a warmth settle over you, even as your mind is still catching up to everything.
The camera flashes pop around you, and suddenly, those TikTok edits of you looking perpetually confused start to make a little more sense.
When the premiere starts, halfway through the screening, you excuse yourself to the bathroom. You check your makeup, but instead of heading straight back to the theater, you decide to take a moment. The whole "date reveal" situation has thrown you off more than you realized, and you need a second to process it. You stare at your reflection in the mirror, replaying the interview in your head. You haven't had the chance to talk to Drew about it since, and the thought lingers in the back of your mind. You don’t want another clueless moment to make it into the tabloids.
You wash your hands, fix your makeup, and prepare to head back out. But as you step through the door, you see Drew standing there, waiting.
“Well, look who it is—the jokester,” you say, crossing your arms with a mock grin. “Here to ask me out on another one-sided date?”
Drew smirks, stepping closer. “Huh? What are you talking about? I’m just here to pee,” he teases, nudging your shoulder.
“Not funny,” you mutter, rolling your eyes but feeling a smile tug at the corner of your mouth.
“Hey, I’m sorry.” His smile softens, and for the first time since the red carpet, you can tell he actually feels a little guilty. “I really am.”
“You should be!” You huff, but your tone is playful now, your annoyance melting away as you meet his eyes. "That was so long ago."
Drew takes a step closer, and you suddenly become very aware of the quietness around you. It’s just the two of you now, the noise of the premiere distant, almost forgotten. His gaze flickers to your lips for just a second, and your heart skips a beat.
“Y/N…” He hesitates, like he’s trying to find the right words. “About that second date…”
“You mean actual first date?” you correct him, raising an eyebrow, trying to keep your cool.
Drew pauses, then chuckles softly. “Yeah,” he admits, rubbing the back of his neck. “Actual first date. What do you think?”
You stare at him, caught off guard. You weren’t expecting him to just put it out there like that. His easygoing nature usually means he hides behind jokes or avoids direct confrontation. But now, with no cameras, no noise—just you and him—he’s being sincere.
“You know,” you say, your voice quieter now, “if you made it clear the first time, I still would’ve said yes.”
Drew’s eyes widen slightly, and a smile slowly spreads across his face. “Really?”
“Yeah,” you nod, feeling a mix of relief and excitement. “Really.”
His grin widens, and there’s something boyishly excited about it, like you’ve just given him the best news of the day. “No froyo this time, I promise.”
“Good,” you laugh. “Because that wasn’t a date.”
“Duly noted.” He steps closer, his hand brushing yours, and this time it doesn’t feel accidental. His fingers curl around yours lightly, the touch sending a spark through you.
“You know, we could leave early,” he suggests, glancing back towards the theater. “Skip the rest of the screening, maybe grab some dinner… somewhere where I make it clear it’s a date.”
You bite your lip, considering it, but your eyes narrow playfully. “And deal with the wrath of our PR teams later? You must love living dangerously.”
He chuckles, shaking his head. “You make a good point. But I promise, after all the photos, after all the interviews... we’ll do this right.”
You nod, smiling at him. “I’ll hold you to that.”
With that, you both walk back into the theater. His hand lingers on yours for a moment longer before he finally lets go, and even as you take your seats for the rest of the screening, the air between you has changed.
You glance at him once more, feeling that familiar warmth return, only this time, it’s not confusing or awkward.
The noise of the film dims around you, though you’re still hyper-aware of the room, the hundreds of eyes on the screen, and the occasional flash from the press in the back. Drew leans back in his seat, arms crossed loosely, but he’s not watching the movie either. Instead, he looks over at you, catching your eye.
You feel the heat rise in your cheeks, and you quickly face forward, pretending to focus on the movie. But then, from the corner of your vision, you feel him move slightly closer. The tension that was always there, that you’d pushed aside so many times, is undeniable now.
After the premiere ends, there’s the usual round of applause and the hum of people slowly rising to leave. Drew stands up first, offering you his hand, and even though you can stand up just fine on your own, you take it. There’s something about that gesture that feels significant—like you’ve crossed a line you didn’t realize you were approaching until now.
You’re both still in work mode, nodding and smiling at the industry people you pass, but the moment you’re outside, the cool night air hitting your face, Drew turns to you, a glint of mischief in his eyes.
“Alright,” he says, running a hand through his hair. “How do you feel about grabbing that dinner tonight?”
You blink, caught off guard by how fast he’s moving. “Tonight? We just got out of the premiere,” you laugh, though there’s excitement bubbling under the surface. “I know, but if I wait any longer, who knows what crazy schedules we’ll get caught up in again.” He steps closer, his smile genuine, warm. “I’ve waited this long to actually do it right. What’s a few more hours?"
“Alright,” you say, a grin breaking through. “Let’s do it. Dinner—our actual first date.”
His eyes light up. “Great. I know a place.”
The restaurant Drew takes you to is tucked away, quiet and intimate, and you laugh at how quaint it is, most of the other diners are old enough to be your grandparents. You feel comfort knowing most of them don't have phones let alone know who the both of you are. For all they care, you could be two kids coming home from a costume party just ending the night with a bite.
“So,” you say as you both sit down, menus in hand but neither of you really looking at them. “This is what a proper date feels like, huh?”
Drew leans back in his chair, grinning. “Better than froyo, right?”
You laugh, rolling your eyes. “Significantly better.”
There’s a moment of comfortable silence, the kind where you both just look at each other and realize this is happening—really happening. You’re on a date with Drew, and it’s not some PR stunt or a casual hangout. It’s real. And for the first time, you’re letting yourself want it. "You think they're wondering why we're over dressed?" You hide behind a menu. "Overdressed? Excuse me? This is what I wear everyday." Drew retorts, making you chortle.
“So,” you say, resting your chin on your hand, “What’s the plan after this? Froyo?”
Drew chuckles, shaking his head. “You’re never going to let me live that down, are you?”
“Not a chance.”
He grins, eyes glinting with that same playful energy you’ve always liked. “Well, I’ll make sure tonight’s memorable enough that it overshadows that.”

you were young when you and christian broke up. you made a huge decision for the both of you back then and you were confident enough to know that the decision you made would be better for the both of you, but what happens when he learns about the biggest secret you’ve been hiding from him since you separated ways?

watching this little kid grow up was both scary and amazing. five years have passed since you met him, since you first heard his heartbeat. five years ago, he opened his eyes and welcomed himself in this cruel world one september morning. watching him grow up to the person he was today felt both accomplishing and depressing. ezekiel mate was his name, and yes–you’ve named him after his father. his father who is not aware of his own existence. it wasn’t ezekiel’s fault though, you’ve made this decision by yourself and there was nothing you could do but uphold your decision and do your responsibilities as a mother–a single mother in fact. you thought it would be the best for all sides, for you and ezekiel’s father.
he has his own career to think about, he was about to make his name known to people. to be known in the sport he loved most and all people would cheer his name, plaster printed copies of his face and name across the whole country. you didn’t want to ruin that opportunity for him, a child would only affect his career. between practices, training, matches, flights–surely, christian wouldn’t have any time to take care of a child. with you in north america and him in europe, it just simply wouldn’t work. you still remember the night you broke up with him, in fact, you can’t forget about it. it haunts you like a stupid nightmare, it keeps you awake most of the time.
you sacrificed a lot for ezekiel. giving up university for a year to navigate things on how to be a mom, and trying to make ends meet by working–sure, your parents were there to help financially and take care of your baby in times you needed them, but you wanted to be able to support ezekiel on your own. balancing work, university and a growing child was hard and there were days that you wanted to just give up. but you didn’t, because you were the only parent that ezekiel has in his life.
“mama?” you heard a tiny voice call you, waking you up from reverie. ezekiel’s tiny footsteps were heard as he ran towards you. “why are you still awake?” you smiled at the little boy, gently picking him up from the ground and sat him on the kitchen counter in front of you. his slightly curly hair, deep dimples and honey brown eyes that look so captivating under the light, reminded you so much of his father. not to mention, they both share the same birthday.
“just… thinking of something, baby.” you answer, “why are you still awake? we have a flight to catch tomorrow, you know?”
“i know! we’re going to florida, to aunt emily and i’m too excited to sleep, mama.”
you giggled, “well, we both need to sleep now. we have an early flight and you need to have a lot of energy when you get to aunt emily’s place.”
you took ezekiel in your arms, making sure that his favourite stuffed toy was secured in his arms as you made your way back to his room. gently, you put him to his bed and tucked him in, sitting on the edge of his bed as you stared at him, waiting for his eyelids to shut as he told you how his day was. ezekiel spent the day with your parents, they lived nearby and offered to babysit him while you went to work.
minutes later, ezekiel’s words were slurring. meaning, he was about to drift off to dreamland. you both have to be awake by 5 am to catch your flight, and it was already almost midnight. you don’t need a fussy, grumpy 4-year-old throughout your 3 hour flight to florida. when you were sure that ezekiel was fast asleep, you planted a kiss on his head, tips of your fingers running through his soft cheeks as you stared at him.
you left ezekiel’s room, quietly shutting the door closed. instead of going to your room to rest, you opted to stay in the living room. you sat there in silence, letting your own thoughts eat you again. you felt anxious, but you can’t pinpoint the exact reason why. you stare at the wall across from where you were sitting, it was filled with pictures of your family and some pictures of you and ezekiel. the ones from his birth, to his birthdays and his first day of preschool. you remembered that day clearly, when you fetched ezekiel from your parents’ place after his first day of preschool about a few months ago. you two were driving back to your place from your parents, he was quietly playing with his ipad behind you when he asked something you didn’t expect.
“mama, do i have a papa?” he asked, eyes still on his gadget. your heart dropped at the question. “i saw my friends with their papa today. do i have a papa?”
you remember pulling over the side of the road to take a deep breath before answering. he picked it up so early, noticing that it was only the two of you the past four years.
“of course you have a papa, my love.” you answered, not really sure what to say next.
“why is he not here? does my papa hate us?”
sometimes, four year olds ask the most piercing questions and they don’t even know how it could change one’s whole mood, just like what your son was doing. “he doesn’t hate us, your papa is just… busy.”
“is it my fault, mama?”
you sighed, removing your seatbelt and faced ezekiel. “no, baby. it’s not your fault, it will never be your fault.” you said, smiling to let him know that he wasn’t in any sort of trouble. “it’s just… mama and papa needed some time away from each other. it doesn’t mean that it’s your fault, baby. it’s never your fault.”
ezekiel smiled at you, mumbling a small okay. you chose to go to the nearest fast food chain drive thru, not in the mood to cook as you were tired the whole day and with ezekiel’s questions to you, sure enough you wouldn’t be able to focus on making dinner.
“it’s mama’s fault, zeke.” you murmured, holding a picture of your son. “i’m the one to blame.”
—
“if you don’t wait for mama, you might be lost and i will be very sad.” you tell your 4-year-old as you wait for your bags.
the flight from new york to florida was easy, because your son was asleep throughout the duration of the flight. however, it was during the landing when he woke up and started to be talkative and hyper. you only had at least an hour or two of sleep from last night, waking up at 3 am to catch a 6 am flight. ezekiel was usually listening to you every time you two go out, but since he’s all napped out, you were dealing with a hyper kid (you blame yourself for giving him cookies before you landed).
ezekiel held your hand as you pushed your luggage towards the arrivals exit. you two were greeted with a big sign that says welcome to florida, y/n and zeke! by your best friend, emily and her husband, andrew. your son ran straight to his godmother, he couldn’t read the sign yet but he knew it was his favourite aunt.
“zeke, you’re a big boy now!” emily exclaimed, hugging him tight and letting go of your son a few seconds later to face you. “and you, a hot mama, you’re looking beautiful as ever!”
you playfully hit her arm and hugged her. the four of you made way for the other people in the airport, heading to the parking lot. emily and andrew had invited you over to celebrate the fourth of july with them, as well as to meet your goddaughter, celeste. they invited the two of you to stay with them for a week as emily said that you two had a lot of catching up to do.
the drive from the airport to the emmons’ residence wasn’t that far, it only took the four of you about forty-five minutes. emily and andrew’s place was beautiful and cosy, perfect for the couple and the family they dreamed of building. your room for the week had a view of the lake, which you liked the most. emily had ezekiel for a few minutes as you unpack your stuff and prepare ezekiel’s swimming trunks.
“we can go boat riding in the next few days!” emily told ezekiel, “but for now, we can swim in the backyard and play with celeste. is that okay with you, zeke?”
ezekiel nodded his head, turning to you. “your swimming trunks are in the room. change first and go back to mama so i can put sunscreen on you, alright?”
“yes mama!”
ezekiel changed his clothes and had his sunscreen applied, excitedly joining andrew in the pool. you and emily were lounging with her 4-month-old daughter, celeste. the day passed by so quickly; it seems like ezekiel enjoyed his first day in florida as after dinner, instead of asking for his ipad to play and watch his favourite kids show, he asked if he could go to sleep. poor kid must’ve been exhausted running around the backyard with andrew. when you were certain that ezekiel was tucked and safe on the bed, you went back to the living room where the couple was waiting for you.
“little too early for wine, isn’t it?” you smiled, taking a seat across the couple.
“it’s never too early for wine.” said emily, “plus, celeste is already asleep and hopefully, won’t wake up for the next three hours.”
the three of you were talking about life now that you were all parents now. unlike you, emily was fairly new to parenthood and she has someone by her side throughout the journey. were you jealous? maybe you were, a little. but you had a choice and your choice was to go through this alone anyway, so you immediately shut those thoughts off.
unlike you, your best friend did everything by the book. she and andrew got married over a year ago, gave birth to their first child, and not long ago, they recently bought a home in a gated community which is why they moved from new york to florida. nevertheless, you were happy for emily. she deserved it after all.
as the three of you continued to converse, andrew had asked a question you weren’t expecting: “are you on good terms with ezekiel’s dad?” you understood why he had asked you that, he had no idea about your relationship with christian because the two of you met when he and emily started dating during their years in university, unlike emily who knew you since you were still in diapers.
“babe, that’s not—”
“it’s okay, emily.” you said, “he and i have not spoken since i was pregnant with ezekiel. i have no idea what’s going on with his life now, but wherever he is, i just hope he’s doing well in his career.”
since you and christian broke up, you made sure not to see his name or hear anything about him at all. blocked him and muted his name and any word tied to his name including football and soccer. it wasn’t easy at first but you got used to it as the years passed by. you wonder what happened in his career now, was he still in dortmund? which part of europe was he living now? how was his career in the national team?
the past five years, you’ve been avoiding christian and everything related to him, yet you go back to square one whenever someone asks you about him. you and christian only dated for a year, and your relationship was really private back then. only a handful of people knew about it. nobody knows outside of your family and emily that ezekiel’s father was christian. the people around you and your family thought that you were knocked up by some random guy you met in university. did it hurt? of course it did. having people see you as a careless young adult, have them judge you for being a parent at such a young age but that didn’t stop you from trying your best to be a good parent to ezekiel.
however, sooner or later, ezekiel would ask you about his father—it already happened one time, and you know it’s bound to happen again in the future. was it selfish to hide your child from his own father? yes, it was, but you couldn’t blame yourself for wanting to protect him. you were aware how cruel people could be, especially people who idolise christian. you could take the hate from them but the thought of your only child getting unnecessary hate from the people who don’t know the whole story simply breaks your heart and makes you anxious.
but, who knows what the future holds?
—
“andrew, y/n and i will go for a quick run!” emily announced to her husband.
andrew appears in the kitchen, celeste was in his arms and trying to make the baby burp. “is it okay to leave ezekiel here? i mean, andrew’s already taking care of celeste.” you said, a bit worried that andrew couldn’t handle two kids.
andrew chuckles, “i’ll be fine as soon as celeste falls asleep. me and mr. big boy here can play video games while she naps.” he answered, “now, you ladies go. we’ll be fine here.”
“are you sure, andrew?”
“y/n, andrew has babysat most of his nephews and nieces all at once, and he has 6 of them. i think he can handle an infant and a child.” emily laughs, “now, let’s go!”
“alright, alright!” you gave in, levelling with ezekiel’s eyes. “promise mama that you’ll be a good boy for uncle andrew?”
you extend out your pinky, and ezekiel wrapped his around yours, putting a smile on everyone’s faces. seconds after that, you and emily were out of the door and started running laps around the whole neighbourhood. it took you two an hour before you stopped by a local park, finding a shade to relax for a bit. the both of you were quiet, enjoying the sound of the trees as you relaxed.
“i’m sorry about andrew’s question last night.” emily suddenly said, “you know, the one about he-who-must-not-be-named.”
you let out a chuckle and shook your head. “it’s okay, ems. it was just an innocent question.” you said, playing with the hem of your shirt. “it’s really not the first time someone asked about him anyway.”
“what do you mean?”
“zeke. he asked about his dad during his first day of school, a few months back.” you answer, “he asked if he had a dad, if his dad hates us because he wasn’t present and… was it his fault why his dad’s not around.”
“oh my… y/n, i’m sorry.”
emily hugs you tightly, feeling a bit sad as zeke was too young to think about such things. you never told anyone about your conversation with your son that day until today, and it felt so good to finally get it out of your chest.
“i feel so selfish to keep him away from christian, you know?” you open up, “but it was the only thing i could think of. ems, you know how well his career was going back then. i didn’t want him to sacrifice such a huge opportunity for me and ezekiel back then.”
at this point, you were tearing up. you couldn’t help it. you were always vulnerable when you talked about ezekiel and christian. back when you found out that you were pregnant, you made this decision to break up with christian and have the baby alone. back then it felt like you shot two birds with one stone, christian’s career being the one bird and the other is protecting your child from the public eye.
you and emily stayed at the park for a few more minutes, just until you cried out and walked back home. maybe it was time, it’s been years after all and christian deserve to know the truth. the whole day passed, ezekiel enjoyed spending it with you and the emmons, taking you both on a boat ride which ezekiel loved the most. seeing your child’s smile from ear to ear warmed your heart, yet you felt guilty. since ezekiel was born, there was this guilt that was running through your heart; that nagging guilt saying that you were depriving both of them by taking away the chance to be in each other’s life.
fuck it, i’m gonna do it. you thought to yourself in the middle of the night while staring at the ceiling.
christian thought his eyes were deceiving him the moment he saw the notification, his fingers immediately pressing on the message. usually, he would ignore message requests, but as he saw your name, he had flashbacks all of a sudden. it’s been five years, yet your name was still imprinted in his mind. five years of thinking where did he go wrong in your relationship, if there was something he did that made you end your relationship, and if it had something to do with his career. five years ago, his career was thriving and his love life came crashing.
he remembered the night you broke up with him, it was when you flew to visit him during your winter break and it happened on a typical day. the two of you did the usual routine since you arrived, wake up together, eat together and after that, he went to training while you stayed at his place. by the time he arrived, you ate dinner together. he even offered to wash the dishes as you already cooked. life was perfect, or so he thought.
“is there something bothering you?” he asked when he noticed the change of mood while you two lied in bed. “talk to me.”
“it’s just nothing.”
normally, christian would ask you again–if you were okay, what was bothering you and all. but this time, he heard your tone that signified you weren’t really in the mood, so he let it go. the two of you cuddled up in bed, with you as the little spoon and listening to each other breathing. until you asked him a question.
“what do you think of kids, chris?”
“what do you mean what do i think of kids?”
“you know, what is your opinion about kids? about having and raising your own?”
christian chuckles, letting you turn around to face him. “well, i would like to have one, maybe two or three.” he answered, “but definitely not now. we’re still young, we have dreams to achieve. big dreams in our careers. what about you?”
there was a brief moment of silence before you spoke up, “yeah, same answer as you, i guess.”
he remembers changing the topic that night, he didn’t notice your lack of energy speaking to him–thinking that maybe you were just tired and weren’t in the mood to speak. the following day, same routine. only then, when he arrived home, you two got into an argument that eventually led to the end of your relationship.
hey, i can make time. we can meet tomorrow. after agreeing where you’ll meet, christian couldn’t help but wonder what was the reason behind it. will it be the closure he’s been longing for the past five years?
morning came and only a few hours left until you meet christian. you let emily know about your plan, agreeing to watch ezekiel and let you borrow her car to drive to the park where you and christian agreed to meet. to say that you were nervous was an understatement of what you’re feeling. you still wonder what his reaction would be and how he would take such a huge news you were about to drop.
the time left passed by so quickly. you kissed your son goodbye and drove to carlin park. when you arrived, you were stunned by the number of people. surely, you didn’t want to tell your baby daddy that you were pregnant with his child in front of hundreds of people, especially since he was a known athlete. anxiety pools all over you again, taking deep breaths before getting out of the car and head to the agreed place.
“christian?” you called, walking towards him. he turned around and smiled at you. you haven’t seen this man in years. he has changed so much, he looked like a stranger you know too well. his beard was fully grown, it looked good on him. his left arm was filled with tattoos. looking at christian now, you could see what ezekiel would look like in the future; after all, he was the spitting image of his father.
“it’s nice to see you again, y/n.” he said, “shall we go for a walk at the beach or do you want to sit down?”
“we could go for a walk.”
you could hear your heart thumping at this point as you walked alongside christian.
“it's been five years, y/n. how have you been?” he asked.
you took a deep breath, “well, i graduated. i also work now, so i guess i’m fine.” you answer, not sure if it was the answer he wanted to hear. “and i apologise for asking to meet up last minute. if i ever clashed with a schedule of yours.”
“it’s okay, i still have a few days before i leave for milan anyway.” he answered, “why did you want to meet all of a sudden? and i’m a bit shocked that you know where i stay now.”
this is it, y/n. you cannot fuck this up. “actually, i didn’t know that you lived around the area. i blocked you in every social media i have, muted your name and tried my best to avoid seeing your name. just last night, i found out that you live here now. the internet’s a scary place, you know?” you said, “but, aside from that, i do have something to tell you. something big and important.”
christian chuckles awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. “uh, okay. what is it?”
“do you remember the night we broke up?”
“can’t really forget about it.” he replied, “why?”
“the night before i asked you what you think about having kids, and you said you’d like to have one but you said we still had dreams to achieve, right?” he nodded, “well, that day i actually found out that i…i was pregnant. 5 weeks back then.”
christian stopped his tracks and when you looked back at him, his face dropped and his eyebrows were furrowed. confusion was spread all over his face.
“i–i didn’t ask to meet you because i need some sort of financial support for the kid or whatever, i just wanted to let you know.” you said, biting your lip as he stayed silent. “if you want to do some paternity tests, i would gladly let you.”
“no, no. i uh, believe you.” he replied, “is the baby…?”
“he’s four and has the same birthday as you, chris. he’s doing well in preschool, and uh…” you paused, pulling out your phone from your pocket and opened a picture of ezekiel to show him. “this is him. his name’s ezekiel mate. he’s your mini me.”
“mate?”
“yeah, well… at first i wanted to give him your last name but i thought it’ll stir controversy so i opted to give him your middle name.” you confessed, passing him your phone. “i hope that doesn’t bother you, christian but i understand if it does. and really, i apologise for telling you this so late.”
christian looked at ezekiel’s picture, examining his facial features that reminded you of him. ezekiel looked like him when he was still a kid, he could see some of your features there as well and there is no doubt that this wasn’t his kid. the pulisic genes were strong and evident.
the two of you continued to walk along the beach, christian was asking you questions about ezekiel until you two stopped in the part of the beach where there were less people. you were both staring at the horizon, it was then when christian asks you the question you’ve been avoiding.
“did you… did you plan on telling me about him even before today?”
“...yes” you breathed, “i–i was supposed to tell you, christian. i really wanted to, but you were just… you had a huge opportunity to showcase yourself in europe. i didn’t want to take that away from you.”
“why?”
“because i know how demanding your job could be. it was already demanding when we were together, it ate a lot of our time together. a part of me thought that maybe a child would be a huge inconvenience to your career.”
all the small milestones that ezekiel achieved, christian had missed out and you wouldn’t blame christian if he chooses to be mad or hate you for hiding his child from him. he had every right to do so after missing five years of his son’s life.
“why didn’t you reach out to me, to my family at least?”
“i was afraid, okay? i was young, we were young. i was figuring out who i wanted to be and obviously, being a young mother was something i did not expect that i’ll be.” you said, on the verge of tears.
“and so, was it okay for you? to be a young, single mom?” he fought back, “y/n, if you had told me before, you know i would do everything. i would’ve quit—”
“and that’s exactly why i didn’t tell you. i changed who i was to put you both first, christian. i wanted you to succeed, you had dreams. at the same time, i wanted a normal life for ezekiel.” you said, tears cascading out of your eyes. “you were achieving your lifelong dreams, christian. i didn’t want to interfere with that. i didn’t want you and your parents’ hard work to be cut short because of me, because of ezekiel.”
christian then realised the things you had gone through raising ezekiel alone. his heart broke when he heard the things people around you told you when your bump started showing. it hurts him to think that you’ve gone through it all alone–all the heartbreaking things people around you told you. even before, when you were still together, it was one of the things that he admired about you. you were a strong and resilient woman.
“can i… can i meet him?”
that caught you off guard, “sure, i guess. when do you want to meet him?”
“tonight, if it’s okay with you?”
you nodded your head, a bit unsure how ezekiel would react. normally, he is shy when meeting new people. but this wasn’t any other person, this was his father. so when christian walked you back to the car and made sure you were inside, you dialled emily’s number.
“how’d it go?” was the first thing she said upon answering the call while you started the engine of the car.
“it went well, surprisingly.” you answered, “one little problem though.”
“what?”
“he uh, he wants to meet him. tonight.” you said, biting your lip. “would it be okay if christian came over at your place?”
“are you crazy? it’s more than okay! plus, it’s much safer and private here instead of going out. lots of people know him, you know?”
you sighed, “i’m nervous, ems. i don’t know how zeke will react, i don’t even know what i’ll say to him.”
“zeke is a wonderful kid, i’m sure he will be okay when you tell him the truth.” emily reassures, “look, me and andrew will just be here to support you. no matter how it goes, alright?”
“thank you, ems. literally for everything.”
emily giggles on the other end, “hey, that’s what friends are for, silly!” she joked, “okay, now i’m gonna end this call to go get dinner ready. you get home safely!”
“dinner?”
“duh, christian pulisic is coming to my place and i’m not gonna serve him anything? i’m a very hospitable person, of course, i’ll make him something good.”
—
two hours of prepping dinner with the couple, christian rings the doorbell. emily whispered to you good luck as she and andrew stayed in the kitchen, keeping an eye on the food you all made while you head to the front door. you took a few breaths before opening the door for him. dressed in a simple button down with a shirt inside and a pair of shorts, holding a bouquet of flowers.
your heart skipped a beat.
“hi,” he smiled, “these are for you.”
you make way for christian to enter the foyer, taking the flowers from his hands. “thank you, they’re pretty.” you compliment, “this is uh… emily and her husband’s place, by the way. we’re just visiting.”
just in time, emily and andrew entered the scene. “you remember emily, right?” you asked and he nodded.
“it’s been a while, christian.” emily smiled and introduced andrew to him. “dinner will be ready in a few. me and andrew are just in the kitchen if you need us.”
you led christian to the den, leaving him there as you went to get ezekiel. christian was nervous, just like you. he doesn’t know anything about parenting, or how to be a dad in general. he depended on such little information you told him about your son. everything was happening too fast, all he knows is that today was such a crazy day. one minute he finds out he has a son, the other he’s meeting him. he hasn’t even told his family about this information!
“zekey, could you promise to be good for mama?” you asked your son which christian heard, “remember when you asked mama if you had a papa?”
“yes, mama. you told me i had one but papa is just busy that’s why we haven’t seen him.” that broke christian’s heart.
“well, papa is here now.”
seeing ezekiel mate in person was a different feeling than seeing him on your phone earlier today. usually, when meeting new people, ezekiel would hide behind you and stay there until he feels comfortable. but this time, he didn’t. instead, he ran towards christian and gave him a hug.
“hello, papa.”
you bit your lower lip, trying to stop yourself from being emotional as you watch christian and ezekiel meet for the first time.
“hello, ezekiel.” christian smiled, “i’m sorry, papa is so busy. but i’m here now.”
you’ve never seen ezekiel conversate with everybody else this way. he was engaging with every single question that christian asks him, telling him the little details about his life. god, why did you wait so long for these two to meet?
as the father and son get to know each other, you head to the kitchen to continue helping emily and andrew. emily was smiling at you when she saw you enter.
“i told you it’s gonna go well.” she said, “now that zekey and christian have met, what’s up with you and him?”
“what do you mean?”
“the flowers. maybe the two of you could reignite the spark you once had?”
you shook your head, continuing to mash the potatoes to serve later. “it’s not… it’s nothing like that. i doubt anything would happen between us, i mean, he’s probably dating someone.”
“really? you don’t see the two of you dating again?” andrew asked, and you shook your head again. “aww, i was almost excited to be friends with a star player. like, imagine the two of us barbecuing in the backyard?”
“babe, i think you’re man-crushing christian.” emily laughed. “but in all seriousness, y/n. no?”
“nope.” you replied, “like i said, he’s probably dating someone. plus it seems like we both moved on, we put the “us” in the past and i think it’ll stay that way.”
“what about zeke?”
you sighed, “we can co-parent, i guess. if he wants to, of course. i’m not going to force him into something he doesn’t want, at the end of the day, i still want what’s best for zeke and him.” you explained, “if he doesn’t want to co-parent, then that’s totally fine. i’ve raised zeke, i’m sure i can handle it.”
“really?”
“look,” you snapped, “i’m sorry guys, i love you both but… i just have a lot of things in my mind right now. it’s been a long day, can’t we just put the questions aside and just get through dinner?”
the couple nodded their heads. they understood where you were coming from, it wasn’t an easy decision for you to let ezekiel and his father meet, plus it all happened so fast and they were blabbing about the possibilities that could happen in the future. you left the two shortly after you helped them prepare the dining table, heading straight to where you left ezekiel and christian.
ezekiel was in between christian’s legs, focused on his father’s phone as he showed him a compilation of his goals uploaded on youtube. when your son acknowledges your presence, he has the biggest smile on his face.
“mama, i want to play football like papa!”
you chuckle, taking a seat next to them. “well, i guess we could give it a try. but for now, let’s go eat dinner.” you tell your son, and he nodded his head, removing himself from christian’s grasp and ran out of the room, leaving you and his father alone. “so uh, just let me know if you’re uncomfortable during dinner. i can—”
“no, no, no. it’s okay.” christian said, “i, uh… about ezekiel—”
“we can talk about it after dinner.” you said, giving him a small smile as you walked to the dining.
ezekiel was sandwiched between you and christian. the four adults exchanged stories, andrew expressing his shock upon finding out that the father of ezekiel is a star player for the national team. ezekiel adjusted with christian faster than you expected, knowing your son, it would usually take him a few more interactions before he started to talk to them completely but he was really comfortable with him. christian was his father after all.
after dinner, christian thanked the hosts of the house. he even offered to put ezekiel to bed, but the kid had too much energy left in his body and couldn’t sleep yet. he bid his goodbye to ezekiel, promising that they’ll meet and bond again soon which made ezekiel a bit sad, yet happy. when everything was already sorted out, you walked christian back to his car.
“today was… i don’t know, crazy and fun.” he admits, stopping next to his car. “it was a lot to process but i think i’m okay. more than okay with ezekiel, he’s… he’s a good kid and you’ve done so much for him. i’ve never met a kid so clever like him at a young age.”
you smile, you didn’t really expect his compliment and it made you shy. “thank you. i have to say, the people around him influenced him a lot.” you replied.
silence once again surrounded the two of you, you were both waiting for someone to speak–bring up the topic of co-parenting. you didn’t want to be the first one to ask him because it would feel like you were pressuring christian, and christian didn’t want to be the first one to ask you because he knew it would be such a huge adjustment for you and ezekiel.
“y/n” christian called.
you look up to him, staring directly into his honey brown eyes. again, no one was talking. just the sound of the wind and a broken street light not far from where you were standing. the space between you and christian was getting smaller and smaller, his hands gently making their way to your jaw. and the next thing you know, your lips were connected. feeling his lips on yours made your heart beat faster, butterflies in your stomach were getting crazier.
you pulled away, holding his wrist. his forehead and nose on yours as you both catched your breath and closed your eyes. christian felt tears on his cheeks, causing him to open his eyes.
“i can’t… we can’t–” you said, pulling away from him.
“y/n–”
“i’m sorry, chris.”
you ran back inside the house, leaving christian alone in the driveway and he stood there frozen as he tried to process what had happened. did he move too fast? were you overwhelmed by his actions? questions ran through the player’s mind. maybe he did move too fast, and maybe you were scared that history may repeat itself. but this time, christian wanted to let you know that it wouldn’t, that he would do his best to conquer everything. christian was determined to have you again, because this time it isn’t only you he’s fighting for.
he was fighting for you and ezekiel.

Finally-official-devlog #112
Also known as FOD112 hi-ho, Wudge here.
Gosh there's just. So much. I'm actually drafting this devlog a few days early so that I'm not suddenly overwhelmed on devlog Tuesday again. But without further ado-
This is the big cheese right here -- each character has their own layer, each character's clothes and expressions have their own layers, and there's a separate layer for the soft orange lighting on top of it all. 😭
On that note, here's most of the individual image files that create the CG with their powers (and my code) combined:
And since this is a cropped version of a BIGGER CG (featuring ALL the love interests sitting together), I had to tinker with the position code a great deal to properly feature these three goons Of course it was worth it of course twas merely at the cost of all my energy and sanity at the prospect of eventually possibly also adding in blinks and expression changes--
Mad props as usual to the sweetwonderfulamazing Remnantation who first completed this CG -checks watch- sometime last year! With some additional edits by me since then~
And, did you happen to notice something new in the lower right?
Tadah... a brand new click-to-continue icon animation! I made (mostly) all by myself! The lil sparkle burst is free from production crate, but I drew the star and added the rotation code... ... Honestly, the hardest and most time-consuming part of this was finalizing the design. Originally I was gonna make it rotate 45 degrees, flip, rotate 45 more degrees, flip, etc-- and messed with that concept for several hours before scrapping it for a simpler, more graceful idea. :| Part of the process, I gots to tell myself, part of the process...
Next up is Jade's powers, as you may have seen in the preview last week. Much like the CTC animation, I did a lot of research on other ideas - various glowing VFX like vertical veins across the cheeks and smoky rising from the eyes, as well as a bigger low opacity character zoom effect - before settling on something simple. Jade's power usage here is... pretty mild in context, and I figure I can always store the more dramatic animations for later in the story.
Here's a still of the effect btw:
Her eyes look like headlights lmaooo. Honk honk!
Do I have more to update with? Believe it or not, yes.
I made some icons, which took a fair amount of trial and error: on the left you'll see an earlier draft, on the right are my more final redesigns from the same day(...night. midnight. I worked on these until midnight).
I had to look up some guidelines because most of my previous icons did NOT look good or legible when sized down to 50x50 pixels. What I learned was, tadah, I had to draw with an unprecedented line width of 200 pixels! (For non-artists: I typically draw with a pen width of 12 pixels at most).
I also studied the icon styles of Persona 5, which saved me a lot of time - they had a cool stylistic choice of diagonally tilted color blocks and thick black outlines.
Here's yet another gif of icons in action...
Did you see them? Did you?? For a split second, in the upper right.... Still gotta adjust some of the text overlap, don't look at that.
Oh and the "How to play" page is brand new. I coded it from scratch... That also took all night...
... Oh. Oh. And remember your MC's phone?
This old thing? Yeah. Visual upgrade:
Also rendered and colored in by Rem <3 Where would I be without them...!
The text, though, can be updated in code!!!! I spliced the phone into layers, with the screen on top and code-generated text just below it, so I can update the caller ID at any point in-game without making any new images.
Took a little while to get it to work... honestly it doesn't look 100% centered... but it's fine. This is fine...
And then... more code. After much tears, blood and strife, I got a musical crossfade to work. It shouldn't have been challenging but it was a nightmare -- when calling the crossfade the second track would either not play at all or its volume wouldn't change and I was starting to develop a preference for eating gravel. But I persisted, found a much simpler code that actually works. After the tearsbloodstrife.
And...... lastly... I simplified this big block of code:
vbox: pos (269, 76) add "sprites/MC/mc[mc_number].png" hbox: if mc_number ==1: text "DEFAULT" style "MC_label_text" elif mc_number ==2: text "LAVENDER" style "MC_label_text" elif mc_number ==3: text "PETUNIA" style "MC_label_text" elif mc_number ==4: text "SUNFLOWER" style "MC_label_text" else: text "TBD" style "MC_label_text"
...(not properly indented bc tumblr is mean 2 me)...
down to these lines, to make my future life easier:
default PrintMC = ["Default", "Lavender", "Petunia", "Sunflower", ""]
text PrintMC[mc_number] style "MC_label_text"
Two!!! lines!!!!!
🎊
Instead of typing out additional if/else lines, I only need to add new names to the PrintMC list. Won't really affect the player at all, but it's a HUGE quality of life update for me!
...Anyway that's it, thank you for checking in. <3
Stay safe and keep warm,
Wudge.
PS screw it I'm gonna queue post this early.
PPS have you listened to our composer's new single yet? No?!?!?!
youtube
Every click, every listen helps, and every song of his is a BOP that deserves recognition!
ok that's all for real now xoxoxo,
wudge (again)

Smut version here
(A/N: There will be two versions of this sort of imagine in the future with different plots in each. This is more light-hearted than the one I wanted to post initially, but the other one will need so much time with editing. I have school but didn't want to leave you guys hanging with another one-shot. Btw this gif isn't mine.
You had just broken up with your ex Chan, who is crazier than you imagined. You only had your friends to back you up from your worst nightmare. You only dated Chan to get him off your case and to stop bothering you all the time. You only lasted as a couple for 2 weeks, which says a lot. You noted that whenever your best friend Jeongin was around, he always got quiet whenever Chan would approach you both. On the other hand, Joy always hated Chan when he was around. You understood that Chan was persistent, but you didn't know the extent of the persistence until you broke up with Chan for a very good reason. You found out from Joy that he spent his time hanging around a girl during the night time.
You decided to call your parents and ask them if Joy could stay over. That time was when your parents were overseas with the success of their company that ended up saving your family from bankruptcy. Your family got to live lavishly without worries when your parents started getting investors for their fashion company when you decided to promote the company on social media. Since then they got more deals overseas, often leaving you alone. Everything led to the moment when both you and Joy went to the corner of an alley where Joy first saw Chan. There he was in front of you now, kissing a girl in a secluded alleyway. Despite there not even being any light, you noticed the orange sweatshirt that you gave him.
"I'll approach him first," Joy whispered to you at the time.
There you hiding under a tree when as you could see Joy approaching Chan. He then turned around when Joy tapped him on the shoulder.
"Now who the fuck is here?" Chan said as he angrily looked at Joy.
"Huh, seemed like you were kissing someone other than Y/n."
"Hey, Park Soo Young, why don't you butt out of here?" Chan only got away from the girl he was kissing to try to intimidate Joy by getting close to her.
You got out of your hiding place and approached them both by getting in between them.
"You know what Chan? We're over," You spoke with rigorous rage that was different from what you felt.
You weren't mad but needed to break up with Chan for once and for all.
"Y/n, wait," Chan tried to hold onto you but you took his hand off you and walked back with Joy.
Everything led to where you are now with your friend Joy. On the way back, you were eternally grateful for having a friend like Joy. You met her back in kindergarten around the same time as Jeongin. Joy, Jeongin, and you are all childhood friends. The skies were pitch black and scary, but walking with your best friend only made you feel safer. The atmosphere was silent with Joy, but your silence didn't feel awkward. Finally, you arrived with Joy at your mansion home.
"Wow, I almost forgot you were rich," Joy joked as she got into your house.
"Well, let's spoil ourselves with a sleepover," You smiled at her joke.
The rest of the night consisted of watching movies and gossiping with Jeongin over a video call on Joy's phone.
"Yep, so that happened to Y/n," Joy told the story of what happened.
"Are you both crazy, How can you two go outside without anyone there to make sure you're safe?" Changbin popped into view over Jeongin's shoulder.
You didn't expect to see Changbin at Jeongin's house, you were now nervous. You hadn't even seen him when you started talking to Jeongin with Joy.
Changbin is Jeongin's best guy friend who he's been trusting with his life since he met him in middle school. From what Jeongin told you, he met Changbin in a school club the same year you did. You all met each other during lunch when Jeongin introduced you all. You got along with Changbin since you both met, but you secretly harbor a crush on him since then. Joy was the first to notice while both Jeongin and Changbin still are oblivious.
"Well the crazy one is Chan, but go off,"
"Yeah, what Y/n said," Joy replied to Changbin.
"Uh, but are you both okay?" Jeongin only asked you both after Changbin's speech about safety precautions.
"Yeah, we're both fine, but are you and Changbin having a sleepover?" Joy spoke to both Changbin and Jeongin.
"Not a sleepover precisely, more like I'm staying," Changbin replied.
Then you noticed how different Changbin was dressing from Jeongin. Jeongin was holding the phone but he was dressed in pajamas while Changbin was wearing a sleeveless shirt with joggers. You looked away to make sure Changbin didn't notice.
"Well that's good, but Y/n and I are having a sleepover," Joy spoke happily.
All of a sudden, your phone started ringing nonstop. Joy also looked at the phone to see the caller id at the same time you did.
"That bitch seriously can't take a hint," Joy cursed over Chan as you turned off your phone.
"So it's that dude, huh?" Jeongin worryingly asked you.
"Yup, but I won't respond,"
"Good," Changbin said in response.
Then after a moment of silence, a knock was heard. Both you and Joy jumped while the boys told you to get a baseball bat or baton in hand. You told Joy to stay where she was and you silently walked over to the door in tiptoe mode. You looked into the peephole and were in surprise to see your cousin. Joy changed the camera mode over to your direction towards the door. The boys saw your surprised expression and looked at each other confused. You opened the door to hug your cousin Park Hyung Sik who was dressed in layers of casual clothing. You hadn't even seen him in so long.
"Y/n, I missed you a lot," your cousin spoke so cutesily which was a bit strange to you.
"Y/n, who's that?" Changbin frowned as he interrupted your reunion with your cousin just as you were about to speak.
"Mr, who are you exactly?" Hyung Sik spoke back to Changbin jokingly.
"Omg Y/n, seriously who is he?" Joy asked and decided to go along with the plan she made with Jeongin.
"It's a secret," Hyung Sik said to Joy with a wink.
"Omg, is that you Jeongin?" Your cousin asked as he saw your childhood friend through the video call.
"Yup, I missed you a lot buddy."
You smiled as you saw your cousin and Jeongin reconnect. Changbin on the other hand was pouty. Joy for some reason pretended to know nothing about your cousin.
"He's my-" You were then interrupted by Joy.
"Ohhh, then he's your new boyfriend, huh?" Joy asked you and gave her nod of approval.
"No, he's my-"
"Yep, that's the boyfriend alright," Jeongin said as he was trying to hold a smile.
Changbin looked down and looked sad as he fiddled with his hands.
"No, we're-" Hyung Sik was also interrupted by Joy.
"WOW, I'm so happy for you both," Joy said and quickly ended the video call.
"Dude, why did you pretend to not know me?" Hyung Sik confusingly asked Joy who was smirking.
"Well, Changbin likes Y/n, but will never admit it," Joy explained to Hyung Sik as he was trying to follow.
"Ohh, then that's Changbin, the guy that Y/n likes?" Hyung Sik asks you.
"Yup, that's him,"
"Then why did Jeongin also go along with you? And what do you MEAN Changbin likes ME?" You asked Joy who looked like she was dying of laughter as she sat down on the couch laughing at the situation.
After a while, Joy stayed silent, trying to get the giggles out of her system.
"Well, we made a plan that we would do whatever it takes to get you both together and I told him that when that happens that he should go along with me,"
"Well, how would he know? I'm pretty sure Jeongin was oblivious to my liking for Changbin," You said trying to not stutter over your words as you spoke to your best friend.
"Y/n, he's actually very smart and only pretended to not know of your crush,"
"Woah, you actually have wing people by your side. I would take their offers if I were you," Hyung Sik added into what Joy said.
A moment of silence passed before the doorbell rang. You weren't expecting anyone, yet Hyung Sik turned to you.
"I'll get that for you," Hyung Sik said to you as he walked over to the door.
The door revealed Changbin in his pajamas, just as you saw him in the video call. He looked worried as if he were to lose you now.
"Why are you here, bro?" Hyung Sik asked as he let Changbin in and closed the door. Hyung Sik proceeded to sit down on the couch next to Joy.
"Y/n," Changbin bluntly responded and silence only followed.
"Dude, let's go," Joy whispered to Hyung Sik as she got up from the couch with Hyung Sik and they went up the stairs to the guestrooms in your house.
There Changbin stood only looking at you. His eyes never left yours, as if he wanted to hear anything from you now.
"Tell me, are you really dating him?" Changbin pleaded for an answer.
"Why do you want to know?" You asked, after all, you were curious as to why he never asked you out before.
"Well because you sure move fast, I was thinking that you wanted time to heal from Chan," Changbin only looked at you concerned.
Changbin didn't know why it bothered him so much that you seemed to be dating someone. He was trying to hide his shaking hands, he was afraid that he lost you. He felt dumb about the fact that he didn't ask you out before. He didn't even know if you liked him so never tried to ask you out before since in his mind it seemed that his liking was one-sided.
"Changbin, I never once liked Chan not even a little. It was all for him to stop pursuing me,"
There Changbin stood in awe, he never once asked you why you started dating your douchebag of an ex. He realized that he misjudged you.
You, on the other hand, tried to speak coherently. You were nervous that you might say something wrong and end up losing Changbin. There you both stood in front of each other, not knowing what else to say.
"Now Changbin, why are you asking me all this?" You wanted to hear him speak.
"I-I-" He didn't know how to speak when you wanted an answer from him.
"You can lead yourself out now, I'm off to bed," You turned around and went up the stairs to your bedroom.
You couldn't bring yourself to look at him. Alas, you heard the door close. You knew he left, now you were questioning whether your friends were wrong about Changbin liking you. Maybe they wanted to hype you up, or so you thought. You got ready to sleep, but you couldn't bring yourself to sleep. You only thought of Changbin. Now it was your turn to run out.
You got up quick and headed straight for the door with a pair of sneakers on. You didn't care whether you were going out in your pajamas.
"Changbin," You called out for him, but there was no response.
You walked around for a bit trying to find any trace of Changbin. As you headed to Jeongin's house, the cold wind felt like a punch to the face from its brutal coldness. There were a pair of steps behind you, which only had you ready to protect yourself. You quickly turned on your phone and directed the light towards the tall figure.
"I'm not Changbin, but it's close enough to my name," There Chan stood looking at you with a smirk on his face.
"What do you want, asshole?" You sternly looked over at your ex as you noticed that he was still shamelessly wearing the orange hoodie.
"Wow, I didn't know you were so possessive over me. How fun, this just got interesting," Chan laughed in amusement as he was looking at your angry expression.
"I never wanted you and I never will," The words came out bluntly from your mouth.
"Well ouch, what a feisty one," Chan said trying to taunt you while you stood your ground.
Chan only got closer to your figure, you knew he had an ulterior motive.
"The police are on speed-dial, don't you dare test me," You waved your now turned-on phone in front of his face.
He retreated with his hands up, but not without saying one last thing. You notice that he turned in a particular direction but you ignore his actions.
"So Changbin, did you enjoy the show?" Chan hysterically laughed which scared you.
You turned towards Jeongin's house to see that Changbin was indeed standing there with a pocket knife in hand. Then, Chan left you and Changbin alone. Changbin dropped the pocket knife on Jeongin's lawn and slowly approached you.
"Why did you come back? You know it's unsafe to walk the streets now," Changbin hugged you tightly as soon as he approached you.
"I'm sorry, I wanted to see you and apologize," You responded as you stood there hugging Changbin tightly, never wanting to let go.
"No, don't apologize, I'm sorry for everything," Changbin didn't care if everyone else was seeing you both hug in the middle of Jeongin's neighborhood.
"I wanted to know what you wanted to say before I stormed out," You said as you both release from your long, comforting hug.
There Changbin was looking you in the eye. You knew that whatever he would say would be serious.
"You know, I've never been the overly romantic one. I want to say that I like you a lot, Y/n. I wanted to confess even for once even if you don't like me back. You make me worry for you because I like you so much it hurts. You make me want to be a better person and I realized that only you can make me forget about everything else if you're not okay," He finally spoke and looked at you with longing. He was clinging on to the hope that maybe just maybe you felt the same for him.
"Changbin, I-"
"Please give me a chance, give us a chance. Or are you dating someone else, is that it?" Changbin's voice cracked as tears were falling.
"No baby, how could you think that there's anyone else in my life? There's only you, I promise," You spoke with desperation in your voice as you wiped his tears off with your hands.
There you standing with Changbin, then it hits you that you just confessed to the guy that you've liked for so long. You held Changbin's face with your hands before leaning in for a kiss.
His eyes looked at your lips as he also leaned in. You both then share a long-awaited kiss that makes him pull you close to him. You both pull away from the kiss with a smile. Then, a thought also hits him like a ton of bricks.
"Wait a minute, then who's the guy at your house?" He asked you with pure curiosity.
"That's my cousin Hyung Sik,"
"You never told me you had a cousin. I can't believe that I acted like an idiot," Changbin panicked for a bit before you stopped him.
"Calm down, he already knows that you mean well. I promise you," You give Changbin a smile and lace your fingers in his.
He squeezes your hand in happiness after his thoughts were now cleared.
"So are we dating now?" Changbin boldly asks you with a wide smile.
"O-Of course we are," You respond and start blushing profusely as you hear the words that come out of his mouth.
"In that case, I'm a happy man," He looks at you lovingly with his gaze never leaving you.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" You turn and look at your boyfriend.
"Why wouldn't I look at the spectacular person in my life?" Changbin says as he winks at you.
Then you both hear a door shut from the direction of Jeongin's house. There Jeongin got out of his house to meet you both. You were surprised that he was still up.
"Huh, so that's why you came out of my house like a macho man," Jeongin says to Changbin before shrugging his head.
Changbin couldn't respond to Jeongin and you stood there awkwardly.
"Y/n, you made him cry after he got back," Changbin looks away as he hears Jeongin speak.
"I made him cry twice today, I feel bad. I'm sorry," You look at your boyfriend assuringly.
Changbin looks at you assuring you that he's alright and that you shouldn't blame yourself anymore.
"By the way, you both are lucky my parents aren't going to be here in a long time. You guys owe me one," Jeongin says to you both before telling you both that Joy and Hyung Sik are going to also be at his house.
"So it's a sleepover, huh?"
"Yes, a very good one. Now you guys get in, it's very cold outside," Jeongin finally picks up the pocket knife from his lawn and leads you both into his house.
Finally, after a while, everyone arrives. Jeongin starts the movies and snacks as everyone gets comfortable.
"So..." Changbin awkwardly tries making conversation with your cousin.
"So, what?" Hyung Sik carefully examines your boyfriend as he gulps.
"Uh, I don't know," A long silence follows after Changbin spoke.
On the other hand, Joy, Jeongin, and you all look at each other thinking that your cousin won't accept him.
"I approve," Hyung Sik gives a thumbs up and smiles at everyone.
Relieved, Changbin finally starts getting to know your cousin as they speak comfortably. You all let out a sigh of relief after the long waiting.
"By the way, what's up with all of you and doors?" Hyung Sik lets out a chuckle as the night comes to an end.

untitled Untamed time travel au, but make it Mingcheng
@piyo-13
Part 1: The set up
EDIT: Part 2A is up! Link at the bottom!
Okay, so, like I said. Mingcheng. Time travel. Fix-it.
(this is mostly a daydream and less a fic idea in and of itself, so I keep picturing it as a sequel to either Bilateral or shamelesscooper’s stuff - which I think this’ll be. a Spiritual successor)
So. Established Mingcheng as an ongoing, romantic relationship where they both understand that they’re building a relationship, not just a fling. We get A JC who, “canonically” can give NMJ a run for his money while sparring, and will *wear him out* in the bedroom. Like, I write smut, I think this is a *key element* in a top-tier Mingcheng fic (if they aren’t being written as asexual, naturally) and I think this dynamic just ADDS to JC’s budding reputation as a *stone cold badass.*
So, either way, you’ve read it. You know where they are.
To add a bit of angst for spice... Events play out as in canon, up through NMJ’s death. (I don’t think this is where established Mingcheng should go, btw - I think them being together changes events for the better and a lot of that shit is avoided). Broken hearted AGAIN (because lbr, NMJ was there for JC when his world fell apart. Probably even fought a bit - I needed your support! etc...) JC is visited by NHS.
He’s... different than JC remembered. Colder. Distant, but what was ditzy before is now aloof. Like he’s looking into you rather than through you. Nie Huaisang says.
“Jiang-xiong...did you love my brother?”
JC is incensed. How could NHS doubt his love? *JC* is not the one who leaves.
“Jin Guangyao killed him.” It’s the only time NHS says it out loud. “He sent Jin Zixuan to his death at Qiongqi path. He had his accomplice tamper with Wei Wuxian’s music, leading to—”
“Enough,” JC cuts him off. “So you want me to kill him for you?”
“No,” NHS said. “I want him unmade.”
Which - TIME TRAVEL MAGIC BA BOW
NHS sends JC back, but....I think I need something to go wrong. For reasons they use Baxia in the ritual, and NHS is adopting a ritual to send the self back to send JC back, but....
He gets it wrong and sends JC back IN ADDITION to himself
Baxia sends back NMJ
JC’s core sends back WWX
....handwavy some reason I want LWJ to be sent back as well
...and Wen Ning because he’s also tied to WWX and he’s alive but he keeps his ghost powers, I’ll explain later but it’s cool
...to the night before they start at Cloud Recesses
JC is like “alright! It worked! I have NHS’s plan. I rebuilt a sect before so I can totally do this!” ....but then WWX falls out of bed, freaking out and clutching his lower dantain, sobbing and freaking out- (because he’s a: suddenly very alive when he was dead and b: in possession of his golden core. It’s a bit disorienting) and JC is staring at him like: ...wtf? It wouldn’t be the first time WWX had nightmares, but they were about dogs- not whatever this is.
Anyway, then WWX sees JC, and JC can *see* the moment of fear (and that hurts because this WWX should not be afraid of him) and the mask fall and—
Look, JC isn’t stupid. He just time traveled. That look is what he had seen *after sunshot* so—
“What’s the last thing you remember?” JC asks, and the blank look on WWX’s face is *terrible*
“Ahaha...Jiang Cheng, what—“
“It’s nightless city, isn’t it?” (Going with untamed canon).
WWX‘a eyes get big, “Shijie!” And he twists like he’s going to up ans run to her—
“She’s asleep!” JC snapps. “You’ll see her in the morning.”
WWX blinks at him “will I still be here in the morning?”
“Unless NHS really fucked up, we both will be.”
“... What does Huaisang have to do with this?”
“He’s the one that sent me back,” JC said, and cocked his head. “I have no idea why you’re here too.”
And look - WWX isn’t going crazy from resentful energy, but he’s also a traumatized man. He’s thinking clearly but everything is closer to the surface- he flinches. JC knows that flinch- that guilty flinch that says WWX knows but doesn’t want to say.
“Wei Wuxian!”
And now he flinches, but when JC doesn’t lunge for him, WWX looks at him assessingly. “Why aren’t you trying to kill me again?”
“I wasn’t trying to kill you then! I never thought you’d—“ not survive that fall. “Do you know the last thing I remember? What made me agree to come back? Everyone was dead, JGS was insisting on JL spending more time at Koi Tower, and my lover was murdered- murdered by the same man who sent JZX to his death and set you up for his murder, and made you lose control at Nightless city, and a-jie--”
“You had a lover?!”
“Not the point!”
“Who was it? Do I know her?”
“I’m not telling you!”
“Tell me and I’ll tell you why I think I came back too”
“Fine. On three.”
“Fine.”
“One. Two. Three: Nie Mingjue”
“I gave you my core. What do you mean Nie Mingjue?!”
“GAVE ME YOUR WHAT?!”
"Well it's not like you still have it!"
there’s more shouting (with both of them thinking their grievance is more important), and WWX explains and JC rages and lets slip that “what’s the point of distracting the guards if you just throw it away?!” “...what guards? Jiang Cheng you better not mean what I think you mean!” “Or fucking what?!” Eventually, both of them crying, they hug it out. WWX offers to let JC disown him and JC is like “that’s what got us into this mess to begin with. You’re my brother. You’re stuck with me.” And is honestly surprised when WWX is ecstatic.
The next morning Yanli is like “are you okay? There was shouting?”
But they’re like “we’re cool”
Next time: Cloud Recesses and the one braincell trio plan a war

My favorite thing about the children’s hospital/color theory jokes is that they have the same energy as mistyping something in the group chat— and no one on this site will let them forget it

okay, but now I don’t know what I want more:
Din running away from a battle, carrying Grogu under one arm and Luke over his shoulder while he deflects incoming fire with his lightsaber, or...
Luke running, carrying Din over his shoulder, shooting at their enemy, Grogu laughing as he’s bouncing along, carried by the Force.

Happy Birthday, Twin Brothaaa!
A/N: So, I wrote this for an admin application and the one I sent in was a rough draft. I edited a lot with some help from @bangtanboysoneshot7 (thank you btw!) I know, I’m like two months late, but I didn’t have a computer or Wifi on Tae’s birthday and I feel horrible for not properly celebrating. Most of you know that I view Taehyung as my brother considering how close we are in personality and sometimes looks (long story). So, it only felt right that I did something for his birthday.
As for Hosoek’s @bangtanboysoneshot7 and I are collborating for Hobi Day (we know it’s already past just see it as a late celebration as well. I also want to apologize for going on hiatus for so long and holding off so many updates. I don’t work much and I’ve had a lot of idea which you all will be seeing soon. Thank you for being so patient!
So, for Taehyung’s birthday I wanted to post this sibling one shot, hence, “twin brotha” I hope you guys like it!
STIGMA
Warnings: Abuse, death of family members, swearing, very angsty (READ WITH CAUTION)
Word Count: 817
It’s been three years. Three years of pain, misery and darkness. He didn’t mind the darkness, he was one of the few that welcomed it. He would walk into it with no hesitation or worry if he would make it out alive or not.
He was once a child of light, came from a family of smiles and laughter. Like a dream that suddenly became a nightmare. It all changed. The unexpected death of his mother brought a wave of horrors to Taehyung, suddenly his life was surrounded by darkness.
Tomorrow would mark not only the anniversary of his mother’s death, but also the anniversary of the monster that overtook his father. The demon came so quickly. neither Taehyung or his sister had time to adjust to it. Though, what kind of nightmare would it be if they saw it coming?
The home was silent, the clock ticked teasingly at Taehyung, taunting him. With each tick it would yell at him, “I’m moving on, while you sit there, helpless and hopeless.” Taehyung glanced at his sister once and back up at the clock.
“Sol-young…” Taehyung whispered from his corner of the room. His sister laid still on the other side. Frozen, as if the coldness from her father had taken over her heart and froze it too. Taehyung began to worry when he only got silence in return. “Sol-young?” Taehyung scurried to his sister and kneeld by her. His hand shook as it drew near her arm. “Sol-young, we have to get out. Come on.” Her body wasn’t moving as it should be when she breathed.
“Noona?” He shook her hand slightly while his voice cracked in fear. His worst nightmare became a reality as he turned her over. Her pale skin becoming more evident as the street light illuminated her features. “Sol-young.. No!” As much as Taehyung wanted to scream and yell he knew no one would come. No one ever came..
Silence filled the halls of the two bedroom home once again. Sol-young laying lifelessly across Taehyung’s arms. The clock ticked on, making Taehyung grow angrier. He stared at it for a while before standing up and to punch it.
“What the fuck! Don’t you know I’m sleeping, idiot!” Taehyung didn’t respond nor flinch at his father’s remark. “Hey! Do you hear me?!” Taehyung could hear his father storming near him. Without hesitation he picked up one of the broken glass pieces. “You lit-”
The glass dug deep into his father’s stomach. Taehyung looked down at his hands in disbelief. “Sol-young” his father muttered out grabbing on to Taehyung’s shoulder, who’s eyes blacked over with the mention of her name. “You killed her!”
His hand pushed harder hoping to end his father’s life quicker. He couldn’t stand to look at his wretched face any longer. The man he used to look up to and admire so much was now a man that had ruined his life forever. The man that had destroyed his life, completely. The man who didn’t seem to have any regrets of his actions. He was the man, Taehyung would look back to and thank him for leaving him to live alone in a cruel world.
He ran. He ran as long as his legs didn’t give up on him. “Sol-young!” He yelled as if he were searching for her. The imagine of her pale face flashing in his mind with each step. “Im sorry! Sol young please! Come back!” He cried.
Everywhere he looked, he was greeted by empty spaces that led to nowhere. He was confused and afraid. He wasn’t sure of what to do, so he stopped. “Sol-young!” He yelled wiping his eyes. “Come back!” But there were no responses, no matter how loud or much he screamed and yelled for her to come back.
His heart ached to see his sister again. He wanted to deny the fact that she was gone, but deep down he knew she wasn’t coming back. The sound of a small snicker forced Taehyung to turn on his heels, to only realize he was still alone.
Loneliness is a harmful virtue. It could make one go mad, that’s exactly what Taehyung was feeling at that time. His mind flashing images of his sister making his heart break each time. His hands reached for his hair in frustration. At times like that, he needed his sister. He needed her to take his hands and help him breathe. He needed to protect her.
“Sol-young…” Taehyung fell to his knees.“you’re not coming back.” Taehyung’s head was tossed back from being punched. The force was enough to knock him onto his back. He didn’t resist nor fought back. He took it. “Sol-young, I’m sorry…” his words interrupted from another blow to his stomach. It had hurt so bad but at times like those, he couldn’t feel how his body begged it to stop. His mind was on her, missing her and wanting his sister back.
No matter how much this force kicked or knocked Taehyung around it would never reach to the amount of damage that his father had done. No matter how much Taehyung vowed to be nothing like his father, he continued the stigma virus in the Kim name. .
