Finally decided to make a commission sheet! Money got kind of tight for me, so I wanted to kick off taking commissions again. Please reach out to me if you want one.

Things to know before commissioning me:

- I take payment upfront. No exceptions.

- I do full refunds if I haven’t started or have barely started. I refund half after the sketch is completed. No refunds after lineart is completed.

- If you want major changes to the commission after the lines are done, then I have the right to charge you extra.

- I have the right to refuse any commission. I have the right to stop working on any commission for any reason (I will refund you fully).

- I will give you updates. You can ask for updates whenever you want.

- I absolutely encourage you to work with me throughout the process. Tell me exactly how you want your piece! I want it to turn out how you expect. I need expectations set perfectly clear. This helps me a lot!! Ask for as many changes as you’d like in the sketching/planning phase to avoid complications later on.

Ask me about shading or adding extra characters! I can absolutely do these, it just depends.

I primarily do lineart only or flat colored art. I can add simple color backgrounds (including gradients) or free use photos. You can also provide me photos you own if you want!

I can draw pretty much anything. I do not draw NSFW, heavy gore, hate content, or offensive content. If you have questions, please ask.

I have work, school, and I get sick often so I only have so much effort to expend on art. I try my best to get done art as fast as I can, while also giving you the quality you deserve.

Edited prices to match how I do things now. Standard style includes a clean and full colored illustration. Refined style includes lineart, making the lines much more refined and allows for more detailed shading. More examples can be shown on request!

If there is a specific piece of art I’ve done of which you want your commission to be a similar style of, let me know! The way I draw varies between colorful/expressive and semi realistic/natural coloring, and if I know your taste between the two, it will help me make more fitting art for you!

I can work with most fandoms and OCs. If you have a question, just ask!

Send me your references, ideas, etc.

I’ll send a rough sketch to make sure it’s going in the right direction

Once it’s all good to continue, you can pay me then or wait until completion. I won’t send the file until payment is through though!

What I can do:

Add extra characters (+50%)

Add background (price depends on complexity)

Animals, Monsters, some furry, fantasy creatures, etc

Send you an email of the finished file (tumblr can eat file quality)

Design characters for you (extra costs, depending)

What I can’t do:

No N$FW

No vehicles/heavy machinery

No offensive themes or uncomfortable requests

I can only make a couple changes in the sketch stage, but once it’s colored there isn’t much I can alter. If you absolutely need a change I will see what I can do, but things like poses, clothing, etc is immpossible to change after I’ve moved on from the sketch

These prices are for personal use art only. Please do not use my art for your own monetary gain. You are welcome to post your commission, use it as an icon, etc otherwise. Please credit back to me when posting or using. Let me know if you don’t want me to post the final, otherwise I will assume I can use it as a commission example (will credit character design to you).

It normally takes me about 1-2 weeks to finish a full piece, give or take based on complexity and work load. If you need it by a certain date let me know in advance and I can tell you if it’s plausible or not.

You may ask to see a WIP at any time, but I will not take changes to the composition after you approve the given final sketch or after a week.

Longer Commissions Update

Hi everyone! So I’ve been reblogging my commissions post a lot recently, and that’s because I need £600 by September. For those that don’t know, I’m a university student going into my second year, and my student loan won’t cover my accommodation cost. The first payment is due in September, and I’m £660 short. While my family will be able to chip in, £600 is a lot, and it’s only the first of three payments, the others of which I’ll be similarly short on. I won’t be able to work this summer, and while I can try and get a job when I’m back in town for uni, it’s not guaranteed, and I wouldn’t be able to earn enough to cover the first payment before it’s due.

So! Commissions are, at this point in time, the only way I can earn any money to put towards that payment. I’m expanding my offers a little so that, alongside art commissions, I’m also offering writing and editing. ART COMMISSIONS

All art comes with full colour and shading and sketchy lineart.

level 1 | £20-30 (Approx. US$26-39)

These are simple, full-body single character portraits with either a plain or transparent background.

level 2 | £22-35 (Approx. $28-44)

These are simple, full or partial-body character art with a simple background. (Note: the price on the image is an error)

level 3 | £30-40 (Approx. US$39-58)

These are simple, full or partial-body character art featuring two characters and a simple background.

level 4 | £40+ (Approx. US$52+)

These are anything more complex than listed in the above three tiers; pieces featuring multiple characters or complex backgrounds.

As well as these four levels, you can also contact me to discuss a cheaper piece! If you only want a headshot or half-body character portrait, for example, or something along those lines, I’m absolutely willing to negotiate a price with you. 

WRITING COMMISSIONS

For writing commissions, I’m willing to work on both fanfiction and original fiction; however, I won’t write for fandoms I’m unfamiliar with, so you’re best off running a search of my blog to see if I’m at all familiar with what you’re requesting first (though, if you don’t see what you’re looking for, it’s worth shooting an email or even an ask/dm just to check). You can find some of my writing on my AO3, though it’s a little out of date. If you want some more recent examples of my writing, feel free to send a message, and I’ll happily provide you with samples.

short one-shot | £10-15 (Approx. US$13-19)

A short one-shot will be anywhere between 500-1000 words.

medium one-shot | £15-25 (Approx. US$19-32)

A one-shot from 1500-4000 words. 

long one-shot | £25-40 (Approx. US$32-51)

A one-shot between 5000-10000 words.  

multichapter | £30+ (Approx. US$38+)

A multichapter fic’s price varies on the number of chapters and the chapter lengths. These days my average chapters come out around 4k, but I can write longer/shorter chapters if requested. 

| scripts | £20+ (Approx. US$25+)

I have a little experience in writing scripts for audio dramas, so if you’re looking for a scriptwriter for a similar project, feel free to contact me! Here is the podcast I script for, and I’m willing to provide examples of the scripts to those who ask.

A note on writing commissions: while I am willing to include background romance, I’m not comfortable with writing anything focused on a romantic relationship, nor will I write anything sexual in nature. 

EDITING COMMISSIONS

I’ve a little experience with video and audio editing. If you provide footage, I can do video editing like this. Here’s an example of my audio editing. If you’d like to commission me to edit something for you, email me, as the price will vary depending on the length and complexity of what you’re asking me to edit.

Commission Information ~

Once I receive and accept your commission, I will need HALF of the payment in order to begin. I currently only take PayPal. After I finish the commission, I will show you what it looks like with a watermark on it, and once you pay in full the watermark will be removed and I will send it.

During the drawing process, I will be updating you once I complete a step. This goes from sketch > lineart > coloring > final effects. You may ask me to change anything during this time. 

After the commission is complete, you can post it anywhere you’d like! It would be greatly appreciated it if you mentioned me, but it isn’t required.

If I cannot complete your commission, your money will be fully refunded!

HELLO YOU

Im finally going on a break from school so I’ve decided to reopen my commissions during Easter!  My deal usually goes that after I’m done with the lineart (and you’re pleased with it,) I get half of the payment. Once it’s done I get the other half, meantime you can ask for updates and tell me possible changes in the sketch.  I’ll send over the sketch once it’s done and keep you updated with the progress. Every time I send it over before the full payment it will be with a watermark. I can draw for any fandom or universe, I have no problems with drawing original characters nor oc x canon. Im a huge fan of DND and i’ve drawn fantasy characters before!  I can only accept paypal (unless you’re Swedish and happen to have swish because that’s another story, just say hej and we can talk.) The background will most likely be a square color unless we agree with something else (like if you want some scenery, although a detailed background will cost more!)

PAYMENT AND WAITING TIME:

Firstly, I need your PayPal email so I can send you an invoice. I will be charging you half of the money, and when I’m finished, charge you the rest. Both times will have an invoice, so no worry about losing records and such.

The product will have a watermark all throughout WIP stages. Once you’ve paid in full, I will send you the original high-rez picture. All pictures will be signed by me. I won’t budge from not placing my signature on the product, so please respect that.

My computer is notorious for me in that sometimes it will get laggy during the coloring stage. The MOST time I will take on your order is a week. But I will keep you updated if something happens that will make me take more time (or end up giving you your money back due to not being able to finish your commission.)

I am very open to edits and suggestions before the coloring stage and will make sure to listen to your requests. The most editing I will do after coloring is changing some colors here and there. (Maybe the red looked better, after all!) But if you ask me to re-draw a part completely after coloring, I will be charging you additionally for the change. Fair’s fair. If you have a problem with this, do always communicate with me instead of taking to the airwaves. :D

Hey, I have a question... Do you have advice for people wanting to do their own commissions? I recently got the idea and want to go through with it but I have no idea how to start...

~ Welcome To Joshuas Commission Guide ~

1) Think about the process

Before you put a commission sheettogether and post it and just jump right into it, you gotta think about howpayment works and what media you want people to contact you on.

What currency do you take? Do youuse PayPal or something else? (If you use PayPal be sure that your customerticks “Paying for Goods and Services”, it’s the best and safest way to go) Doyou want people to private message you on social media or contact you viae-mail? Inform yourself about howrefunds work and how much you’re ready to refund when you’ve already done work. How often do you keep the customerupdated on the drawing process?

2) Set up Terms of Service (ToS)

ToS tell the person that wants tocommission you what they can use your art for.

Are you okay with the customerreposting the art piece? What about commercial usage? Are they allowed to editor crop the image? Just think about what you’recomfortable with and what not and put it in the ToS. The ToS should be included in yourcommission info post, but you can also make a google docs document or somethinglike that. Whatever you want.

3) Prices

Let’s talk about prices. This is rather tricky as everyartist is different. I can’t give much advice on that,that’s up to you. But here have a few points you could keep in mind whensetting up prices.

- how much time do you usually spendon drawing?

- what do you need the money for? Doyou need to pay bills or is it more like pocket money?

- How complex is your style(lineart, coloring and shading)?

- Do you charge more for additionalcharacters, backgrounds, gore and nsfw art (if you’re offering these)?

Now on to the next step.

4) Put a commission sheettogether/Make a commission post

This is my favorite part and Ialready have an important tip to give you! When creating a commission post, yougotta include examples of your art! I cannot stress this enough because nothingmakes me role my eyes more than a commission info post without any examplepics. No one will take the time to go on your blog to see what your style lookslike (especially when your blog is an art blog as well as a personal blog whereyou reblog tons of things. Searching for an art tag is just unnecessarilydifficult, just put some pics in your commission post, guys xD goddammit).

Now that we’ve got that out of theway, what makes a good commission post? It should be visually pleasing andinteresting but still be neat and clear. How exactly you do that, is up to you.But if you need some inspiration, you can just look at how other artists maketheirs or you can just google “commission sheet (template)”.

Call for CBC Art

Howdy all, we're still trucking right along on CBC inbetween updates. But we've hit a snag. We're at a stage where we need to expedite lineart for the sake of time, and color soon after that. But our two lineartists have expended their spoons, so to speak, and having to do that step myself adds time that could be spent plowing through frames and doing backgrounds. Have some free time and want to help out so we can get to updates sooner? Read on below.

We're looking for some reasonably steady hands who can access .PSD files for line work, and pretty soon, color. Line weight isn't a factor, so you can leave pen pressure off, or do line art with a mouse if that’s what you need to do. Once color is in the picture, you'd be working off a given color palette cut-to-cut. Also, our other volunteer animator has been in and out of contact and any back-up animators we can muster would be incredibly appreciated. 

You can send us an ask at the Lifetime Channel or at my personal blog, @geejaysmith, if you're interested. Once we’ve established contact we can exchange information and files via gmail, Skype, or Discord, whatever’s best. We have 12 cuts that need lines ready and raring to go. We’re looking at a turnaround of a day or two for smaller cuts (less than ten frames) and three to five days at most for the larger cuts (the largest being 23 frames). Most cuts average around 12 frames. Color will start happening after the next two updates are online.

EDIT: As a reblog mentioned, this is not paid work. So if you’re not comfortable with volunteering your work without pay, which is understandable, this isn’t the opportunity for you.
