I've loved your Santa tell me fic and since I've recently saw the barbie version of a Christmas Carol, I hope you could write that for Xicheng for me ?
Okay hear me out:
JC as Eden (obvi) aka the strict, angry boss, who accepts nothing but the best.
LXC as Cathrine, his best friend since childhood , who is kind and loving and the only one, who ever comes through to him anymore.
I know in the movie they dont end up as a couple buuuuut I thought it would'v been lovely! As for the past: the Yunmeng Sibs always went over to the Lans, and while it wasnt the picture perfect x-mas like in the movies they always invited them, having stockings up and presents for the 3 of them. But having been caught that 1 time, JC follows his mothers footsteps, (emotionally) enstranging himself from his siblings and the Lans and himself.
Seeing LXC's future self being so cold and heartless breaks his heart. He should never say those things or look at him without any kind of warmth and JC not only realises, how WRONG he is, his mother was and how much he would do for this reality to never become true. How much he would for LXC.
In the end he gets his man, his siblings (and friends) back and the orphans happy, even adopting one (Jingyi).
Have a nice holiday!!!
I hope you have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays anon!  I hope I did your prompt justice!
Jiang Cheng is what his employees would call somewhat of a “hard ass”.  What I mean by that is that Jiang Cheng held a high standard for everyone and everything and if those things did not meet his standards, prepare for a long ass lecture with a bit of a terrible temper thrown in.  Of course, the only person who could ever bring Jiang Cheng down from his rants was Lan Xichen, Jiang Cheng’s longest friend and partner.  Lan Xichen was an absolute sweetheart, having the biggest heart out of anyone in the company; he cared for anyone and everyone.  He was always bringing in coffee for those whom he thought needed it, constantly stocking the stock room with snacks paid for by his own money, and offering a listening ear to anyone who needed it.  Jiang Cheng loves him for that and is entirely grateful for his very existence; he always seems to make Jiang Cheng’s life a little better.
~*~*~*~*~
It was a hectic Christmas Eve; everyone was finishing up their last assignment, eager to go home for the evening, when Jiang Cheng came out of his office.
“Good work today everyone.  I expect to see you all back here tomorrow bright and early” he declared.  Everyone stopped what they were doing, even Lan Xichen looked up from his computer, and looked over at him with wide eyes.
“But
Mr. Jiang
it’s
it’s Christmas tomorrow” one of his employees started when Jiang Cheng waved a hand.
“I don’t believe in Christmas.  So, I expect all of you to be here tomorrow morning.  We’ve got a lot of work to do!” he proclaimed before he turned and headed back into his office.  All this employees looked at each other in confusion and despair, mainly because many of them had families and they were looking forward to spending the day with them.  As they looked at each other, one of the employees turned towards Lan Xichen.
“Mr. Lan, you’re the only one who can reason with him.  Please tell him that it’s not fair for us to work on Christmas.  We have families!” she exclaimed.  Lan Xichen looked at her before he smiled.
“I’ll do what I can” he replied before he walked over to Jiang Cheng’s office.
~*~*~*~*~
Lan Xichen stood before Jiang Cheng’s door and knocked before opening it, stepping inside.
“Wanyin?” he called out.  Jiang Cheng looked up from the report that he was reading and smiled.
“Huan.  What can I do for you?” he asked.  Lan Xichen stepped further into Jiang Cheng’s office, shutting the door behind him.
“Well, I wanted to talk to you about your little
declaration” he started.  Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow.
“What about it?” he asked.  Lan Xichen sighed.
“Well, a lot of our employees have families and
they were looking forward to spending the day off tomorrow with them” he explained.  Jiang Cheng frowned.
“So?  We have a very busy schedule and we need all hands on deck” he replied.  Lan Xichen shook his head.
“But Wanyin, it’s not fair.  We’ve worked so hard these past couple of weeks, the least you can do is let these people spend a day with their families” he argued.  Jiang Cheng huffed.
“They can spend the evening with them.  But work comes first” he replied as he went back to looking at his report.  Lan Xichen stared at him before he tsked and shook his head.
“Unbelievable” he whispered before he turned and headed towards the door.
“You’ve become just like her” he called out, making Jiang Cheng look up from his report.
“Who?” he asked, frowning.  Lan Xichen opened the door and paused before he glanced back at Jiang Cheng.
“Your mother” he spat before he stepped through the door and slammed it behind him.  Jiang Cheng froze, his eyes wide and mouth open in shock.
~*~*~*~*~
Outside, Lan Xichen let out a deep sigh before he looked at the other employees and shook his head.
“I’m sorry.  You’ll just have to tell your families that you have to work and that you won’t be able to spend Christmas with them.  I really did try.  I’m sorry” he apologized.  All the employees faces fell as they continued to pack up their tings, not looking forward to telling their families that they wouldn’t get to spend Christmas and that they would have to work.  Lan Xichen looked at them sadly before he glanced back into Jiang Cheng’s office and shook his head one last time before heading back to his desk.
~*~*~*~*~
That evening, as Jiang Cheng laid in his bed, he couldn’t stop thinking about what Lan Xichen had said about him becoming a lot like his mother.  God, that was the last thing that he wanted to become.  As he continued to lay in bed and stared up at the ceiling, he felt his eyes growing heavy and soon he slipped off into sleep.  While he was sleeping, a beautiful figure dressed in a beautiful purple and pink flowing dress walked over to Jiang Cheng’s bed and placed a hand on his shoulder.  Within seconds, Jiang Cheng sat up, looking around in surprise before he looked over at the figure standing next to his bed.
“Jie?” he whispered.  The beautiful figure, Jiang Cheng’s older sister Jiang Yanli, stood before him and smiled.
“A-Cheng” she greeted fondly.  Jiang Cheng shook his head.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.  Jiang Yanli held out her hand.
“I’ve come to show you something” she stated.  Jiang Cheng frowned before he slipped out of his bed and took Jiang Yanli’s hand.
“Where are we going?” he asked.  Jiang Yanli smiled.
“You’ll see” she replied before she waved her hand, opening a portal.  She then stepped inside before turning and looking at Jiang Cheng, holding out her hand.  Jiang Cheng frowned but took her hand and followed her into the portal.
~*~*~*~*~
As Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli stood in the first scene, Jiang Cheng looked around before he let out a gasp.
“Is this
” he started.  Jiang Yanli nodded.
“The Christmas where mother caught you” she replied.  Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli watched as he, Jiang Yanli, and their other brother, Wei Wuxian, sat around the fire with Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji, the only friends that the siblings had.  Of course, it was nothing like the holiday movies, but it was something that the Yunmeng siblings looked forward to every year.  However, that year, while they were enjoying hot chocolate, there was a knock on the door.  Wei Wuxian, Jiang Yanli, and Jiang Cheng froze; they knew that tone of knock anywhere.  While they and the Lan twins sat in silence, Lan Qiren walked over to the door and opened the door, revealing Madam Yu.
“Shit” Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng hissed at the same time as Madam Yu stepped into the threshold.
“Jiang Cheng” she called out, making Jiang Cheng flinch before he slowly stood up and turned to face her.
“Yes, mother?” he replied.  Madam Yu walked over to him and slapped him, causing his head to whip to the side.  Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian shot to their feet and took a step towards him but Jiang Cheng just held a hand up to stop them.
“You have more important things to be doing than spending your time here” Madam Yu snapped.
“But mother—” Wei Wuxian started.
“Shut up” Madam Yu spat, glaring at him.  Wei Wuxian’s eyes widened and he took a step back as Madam Yu pointed at Jiang Cheng.
“To focus on your future as the heir of the Yunmeng business, you must work all the time.  I forbid you from celebrating Christmas or any other holiday from now on” she declared.  Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian, and Jiang Yanli looked at her with wide eyes.
“MOTHER!!” they exclaimed, but Madam Yu was having none of it.  She just reached out and grabbed Jiang Cheng’s wrist, dragging him away from Wei Wuxian, Jiang Yanli, Lan Xichen, and Lan Wangji.  As Jiang Cheng was being dragged away, he looked back at his siblings and his friends, all of whom were looking at him with sadness in their eyes, before he turned away, allowing his mother to drag him away.  As they left the Lan’s house, Jiang Cheng’s heart became bitter and full of hatred for the holidays, especially for Christmas, as that was the day that his mother forbade him from spending time with his family as well as embarrassing him in front of everyone.
~*~*~*~*~
“Why are you showing me this, jie?” Jiang Cheng asked, looking over at Jiang Yanli.  Jiang Yanli smiled sadly.
“This is where you slowly began to become mother” she explained.  Jiang Cheng looked at her with wide eyes.
“What?” he whispered.  Jiang Yanli nodded as she waved her hand, creating another portal.  She then stepped through the portal, Jiang Cheng following her to find that they were back in his bedroom.
“What is going on, jie?” Jiang Cheng asked, looking at his older sister in confusion.  Jiang Yanli sighed sadly.
“You’re heading down the same road mother did: where she became more work oriented rather than family oriented.  If you don’t change
you’re going to be a very lonely man, A-Cheng” she explained.  Jiang Cheng looked at her, not sure how to respond, when she smiled again.
“I’ve shown you your past
another spirit is going to show you your present and a final spirit is going to show you your future.  I suggest you pay attention to their words” she suggested before she disappeared.  Jiang Cheng’s eyes widened and he looked around his room in shock.
“Jie!  Who’s the next spirit?!” he exclaimed.
“That would be me, Jiang-xiong” a voice called out, making Jiang Cheng turn to see Nie Huaisang, a friend from work.  Jiang Cheng frowned.
“Who are you supposed to be?” he asked.  Nie Huaisang smiled.
“I am the Spirit of Christmas Present.  I’m here to show you what present Christmas Day will look like” he replied before he waved his hand, summoning a portal.
“This way, Jiang-xiong” he called out as he walked to the portal and stepped through it.  Jiang Cheng sighed before he followed Nie Huaisang through the portal.
~*~*~*~*~
Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang stood in Jiang Cheng’s office, both men watching as the office workers went about their day, majority of them whispering while they worked.
“What are they whispering about?” Jiang Cheng asked, looking over at Nie Huaisang.
“You” Nie Huaisang replied calmly as he unfurled his fan and began fanning himself.  Jiang Cheng’s eyes widened.
“Me?!” he exclaimed.  Nie Huaisang nodded and folded his fan before pointing to a pair of workers.
“Why don’t you go eavesdrop?  They can’t hear you or see you.  Couldn’t hurt” he replied.  Jiang Cheng looked over at him before he sighed and walked over to the pair of women, standing behind them to listen to their conversation.
“I can’t believe we have to work on Christmas.  Do you know how much my daughters cried when they found out that I wouldn’t be there to open presents with them?” one woman grumbled.  The other woman huffed.
“At least your daughters are a bit older.  This would have been my daughter’s first Christmas and I’m missing it because that bastard decided that work was more important than family!” she exclaimed.  Jiang Cheng’s eyes widened and he shook his head.
“I never knew” he whispered.
“Of course you didn’t.  You just knew them as your employees.  You never actually took the time to get to know them” Nie Huaisang replied as he walked over to him, placing his hands behind his back.  Jiang Cheng glared over at him, just as Lan Xichen walked into the office, making the other employees look over at him.
“Xichen!  You didn’t hear any of that, did you?” one of the women asked.  Lan Xichen smiled.
“I did, but don’t worry.  I won’t tell Jiang Cheng” he assured before he looked over at Jiang Cheng’s closed office door.
“I can’t believe he’s making us work on Christmas!  How can you stay friends with a man so cruel and mean?!” the other woman exclaimed.  Lan Xichen looked away from the door and looked over at her.
“He’s not cruel or mean
he just
has a hard life.  He’s a very busy man who has a lot of responsibilities” he explained.  The two women looked at each other as Lan Xichen looked up at the clock on the wall.
“Oh no!  I’m going to be late!” he exclaimed, his eyes wide before he looked at the two women.
“I’m going to clock out early, please don’t tell Jiang Cheng” he begged.  The two women smiled.
“We won’t, we promise” they assured.  Lan Xichen nodded and quickly turned, heading out of the office.  Jiang Cheng frowned.
“Where is he going?” he asked.  Nie Huaisang raised an eyebrow.
“Would you like to find out?” he asked.  Jiang Cheng looked at him and nodded.
“Yes please” he replied.  Nie Huaisang said nothing as he waved his hand, summoning a portal.  They then both stepped through the portal to see Lan Xichen walking into a pharmacy, making Jiang Cheng frown.
“Is he sick?  I didn’t notice that he was sick
he didn’t sound sick
” he murmured.  Nie Huaisang shook his head.
“The medicine’s not for him” he replied.  Jiang Cheng frowned and looked over at him.
“Then who’s it for?” he asked.  Nie Huaisang motioned for him to follow him as they headed over to a nearby building that looked like it would collapse if a strong wind touched it.
“What is this place?” he asked.
“The local orphanage” Nie Huaisang answered, just as Lan Xichen appeared.
“Let’s follow him, shall we?” Nie Huaisang suggested as he walked after Lan Xichen, who was heading to the entrance of the orphanage.
“Hey, wait up!” Jiang Cheng exclaimed, rushing after Nie Huaisang and Lan Xichen.  The two spirits followed after Lan Xichen, following him into a room where a young boy was lying in bed.
“Jingyi.  Jingyi” Lan Xichen whispered as he walked over to the young boy’s bed, sitting on the edge of it.  The young boy, Jingyi, opened his sleepy eyes and when he saw Lan Xichen, he smiled.
“Mr. Lan” he croaked.  Lan Xichen smiled.
“Please, Jingyi, call me Xichen.  Oh, and it’s time to take your medicine” he stated, holding up the bag of medicine.  Jingyi let out a groan and he sat up as Lan Xichen shook out two pills, handing them to Jingyi.  Jingyi popped them into his mouth and swallowed them before chasing them down with some water.  As he was taking his medicine, Lan Xichen was smiling at him fondly while Jiang Cheng frowned.
“What’s
wrong with him?” he asked, glancing over at Nie Huaisang.  Nie Huaisang sighed.
“He has cancer.  The pills are a part of his oral chemotherapy, but it’s very expensive.  Lan Xichen doesn’t have enough money to pay for them and the orphanage doesn’t have enough either.  So it’s a waiting game” he replied.  Jiang Cheng frowned.
“A waiting game for what?” he asked.
“To see if Jingyi succumbs to his cancer or to see if Lan Xichen runs out of money and isn’t able to pay for the therapy” Nie Huaisang answered.  Jiang Cheng’s eyes widened as he looked at Lan Xichen.
“Why didn’t he tell me?!  If he had told me, I would have done something about it!” he exclaimed.  Nie Huaisang huffed.
“Would you?  You didn’t know that one of your employees has a one year old daughter; what makes you think you’d give a damn about some orphan kid with cancer?” he sneered.  Jiang Cheng looked over at him with wide eyes before he shook his head.
“I want to go home.  Take me home” he ordered.  Nie Huaisang nodded.
“As you wish” he replied.  He then summoned a portal, both men stepping through.
~*~*~*~*~
Back in Jiang Cheng’s bedroom, Jiang Cheng looked over at Nie Huaisang.
“Do you think that boy’s going to be alright?” he asked.  Nie Huaisang smirked.
“That’s for me to know, and for you to find out” he replied before he disappeared into thin air.  Jiang Cheng’s eyes widened.
“YAH!” he shouted.  He then let out a groan, just as there was a clap on his shoulder, making him jump and spin around to see a figure dressed in all black with a hood standing before him.
“JESUS CHRIST!” he exclaimed, so startled that he fell on his ass.  The figure then slowly stepped forward, causing Jiang Cheng to scuttle backwards like a crab, before they stopped and suddenly threw off their hood to reveal Wei Wuxian.
“WEI WUXIAN!” Jiang Cheng shouted as Wei Wuxian smiled.
“A-Cheng” he greeted.  Jiang Cheng frowned.
“Are you
the Spirit of Christmas
Future?” he asked.  Wei Wuxian nodded.
“Yup” he replied, emphasizing the p with a “pop”.  Jiang Cheng frowned.
“So
what are you going to show me?” he asked.  Wei Wuxian’s smile fell and his face shifted into something stern and almost
angry.
“You’ll see” he answered.  Jiang Cheng frowned again but pushed himself to his feet.
“Alright
what are you going to show me?” he asked again.  Wei Wuxian looked at him, his face stern, before he threw open a portal.
“Go” he ordered, pointing to the portal.  Jiang Cheng huffed before he walked through the portal, stepping into the future.
~*~*~*~*~
As Jiang Cheng looked around, he frowned in confusion.
“Wait
where’s the business?” he asked.
“You fired all of your employees since they came in late on Christmas Day.  You then hired new employees but they didn’t meet your ridiculously high standards so you took on everything yourself and basically caused the company to crash” Wei Wuxian answered as he stepped through the portal to stand next to his brother.  Jiang Cheng looked over at him and frowned.
“What?  No, no, I wouldn’t do that.  I’m not that cruel” he argued.  Wei Wuxian turned and looked at him, raising an eyebrow.
“Aren’t you?” he asked.  Jiang Cheng frowned as Wei Wuxian sighed.
“Follow me” he ordered, motioning for Jiang Cheng to follow him to a brand new building not too far from Jiang Cheng’s old business.
“What
what business is this?” he asked.  Wei Wuxian pointed to the building.
“Look at the name” he ordered.  Jiang Cheng narrowed his eyes and looked up at the building, reading the name on it.
“Lan Enterprise
” he whispered before his eyes widened.
“Lan Enterprise?!” he exclaimed.  Wei Wuxian nodded before he snapped his fingers, turning Jiang Cheng solid again, for he had been transparent again.
“Go” he ordered, pointing to the building.  Jiang Cheng glared over at him before he sighed and headed up the steps of the building, stepping inside.
~*~*~*~*~
Jiang Cheng looked around the beautiful lobby of the building before he walked over to the information desk.
“Excuse me, I’m looking for
Lan Xichen?” he asked.  The secretary glanced up at him before she looked down at her computer.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Lan is out at the moment.  Is there something I can do for you?” she asked, looking back up at Jiang Cheng.  Jiang Cheng blinked before he shook his head.
“Oh, uh
no.  Thank you” he replied before he turned and headed towards the door.  As he opened the door and headed down the steps, he bumped into someone, making him stumble and nearly slip on the damn ice.
“Careful!” a voice exclaimed, making Jiang Cheng look up with wide eyes to see Lan Xichen looking down at him.
“Huan” he whispered.  Lan Xichen stared at him with wide eyes before he cleared his throat and shifted his expression to one of nonchalance.
“Wanyin” he replied.  Jiang Cheng smiled slightly.
“How are you?” he asked.  Lan Xichen turned his nose up slightly.
“Just fine, thank you” he replied.  Jiang Cheng frowned.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” he demanded.  Lan Xichen raised a calm eyebrow.
“What do you mean?” he asked.  Jiang Cheng motioned to Lan Xichen.
“This whole
aura.  It’s like you’re trying too hard to be someone you’re not.  You’re almost
cocky.  Arrogant” he stated.  Lan Xichen huffed.
“Like you’re not a cocky bastard yourself” he replied.  Jiang Cheng’s mouth fell open before he gave Lan Xichen a shove, causing him to almost slip and fall on the ice.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!” he shouted, making Lan Xichen glare at him.
“What happened to the nicest, kindest, sweetest Lan Xichen you could ever meet?  What happened to my best friend?!” Jiang Cheng demanded.  Lan Xichen growled.
“You happened, that’s what!” he shouted.  Jiang Cheng blinked, almost as if he was slapped in the face.
“What?” he whispered.  Lan Xichen growled as he stormed over to Jiang Cheng and jabbed him in the chest with a finger.
“After you fired me for being five minutes late to work on Christmas Day, I had to scramble to find work.  Luckily I found something, but it took me out of the city for months.  Months, Wanyin!” he shouted.  Jiang Cheng flinched; he had never seen Lan Xichen so furious before.
“And because I was gone for months, I couldn’t take care of Jingyi and get him his medicine.  He was sick, you know?  And the orphanage couldn’t take care of him because they had other children to look after as well as worry about trying to keep themselves afloat because they practically have no money!  They’re broke, Wanyin!” he continued.  Jiang Cheng was quiet before he looked into Lan Xichen’s eyes.
“What
happened to Jingyi?” he whispered.  Lan Xichen looked at him before he turned away, his eyes suddenly filling with tears.
“He died.  The cancer grew too aggressive and it spread” he croaked.  Jiang Cheng’s eyes widened and he reached up to place a hand on Lan Xichen’s arm.
“Huan
I’m so sorry” he whispered.  Lan Xichen sniffled and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.
“And the orphanage?” Jiang Cheng asked.
“Gone” Lan Xichen whispered.  Jiang Cheng was quiet, as was Lan Xichen, before Lan Xichen took a deep breath and pulled away.
“But
it’s all in the past.  Nothing I can do about it now” he replied, his expression becoming blank.  Jiang Cheng frowned.
“This obviously still upsets you
” he started when Lan Xichen turned and glared at him.
“Yes.  Yes it does.  But none of this wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for you and your damn egotistical outlook on everything.  Who the fuck works on Christmas, Jiang Cheng?  Who?!  Just because your mother made you do it when you were younger does not mean that you get to take that frustration and anger out on your friends and employees!” he shouted.  Jiang Cheng blinked.
“Huan—” he started when Lan Xichen shook his head.
“I don’t want to talk to you anymore.  Please get out of my sight” he whispered.  Jiang Cheng frowned.
“Huan—” he started again when Lan Xichen grabbed him by the shoulders, spun him so that they were switching places where his back was facing the sidewalk and Lan Xichen’s back was facing the building, and then gave him a shove.
“GO!” he screamed.  Jiang Cheng looked at him in shock as he let out a sharp breath before he turned and headed up the stairs towards his building.  Jiang Cheng watched him walk up the stairs before he sighed and walked away from the building, shaking his head.  As he was walking, a thought hit him, so he turned and headed towards the local cemetery, searching through the gravestones before he came upon a freshly dug grave.  He checked the gravestone and saw the name “Jingyi” engraved on it.
“This must be it” he murmured as he stared down at the grave.  As he stared at the grave, tears came to his eyes and he quickly wiped them; he didn’t even know the kid but just the thought of him being the reason as to why he died broke his heart.
“Reality kind of hits you like a smack to the face, doesn’t it A-Cheng?” a voice mused from beside him, making him look over to see Wei Wuxian standing there.
“Yeah” he croaked as he turned back to look at Jingyi’s grave.
“Not so nice, is it?” Wei Wuxian asked, crossing his arms as he too looked down at Jingyi’s grave.  Jiang Cheng shook his head.
“No” he whispered before he let out a sob.  Wei Wuxian looked over at him before he sighed and reached up, stroking the back of Jiang Cheng’s head.
“Wake up, A-Cheng.  Go and make things right” he whispered.
~*~*~*~*~
In Jiang Cheng’s bedroom, Jiang Cheng sat up with a gasp, eyes wide in shock.
“It was just
just a dream?” he whispered.  He then quickly looked over at his phone that was charging on its stand and grabbed it, pressing the “lock” button.
“December 25th
it’s Christmas.  I’m not too late
” he whispered before he quickly threw himself out of bed, rushing to get dressed.  Once he got dressed, he rushed to work, standing at the door of the office building.  When he saw his employees walk towards the building, he quickly ran down the steps, waving his hands.
“Stop, stop!” he exclaimed, making them look at him in confusion.
“Mr. Jiang
what are you doing here so early?” one woman asked.  Jiang Cheng smiled.
“Stopping you from coming into work today.  It’s Christmas, isn’t it?” he replied.  The employees nodded slowly.
“Yes sir” they replied.  Jiang Cheng huffed.
“Well what are you doing here?  Go spend it with your families!  Go on, go home!” he exclaimed.  The employees looked at him in shock.
“Are you
are you serious, Mr. Jiang?” an employee asked.  Jiang Cheng nodded, smiling.
“Of course I am.  And don’t worry, I’ll make sure that you all get a Christmas bonus, since I was such a jerk for almost making you work on Christmas” he assured.  Everyone let out a gasp before they nodded.
“Thank you Mr. Jiang, thank you!” they exclaimed.  Jiang Cheng smiled and nodded before he waved his hands.
“Now go on!  Go home and spend time with your families!  I know some of you have children and for some of you, this is your child’s first Christmas.  You don’t want to miss that” he declared.  Everyone looked at him in surprise before they bowed low and thanked him before turning and running off, heading back home to their families.  As they were heading back to their families, Lan Xichen slowly walked towards Jiang Cheng, frowning.
“Wanyin, what’s going on?” he asked.  Jiang Cheng smiled.
“I decided that we shouldn’t work on Christmas because my god, it’s Christmas!  No one should work on Christmas!” he exclaimed.  Lan Xichen stared at him in surprise before he laughed.
“You’re right” he agreed.  Jiang Cheng then walked over to him and took him by the arm.
“Come on!  We have to make one more person’s Christmas!” he exclaimed.  Lan Xichen frowned but followed along as Jiang Cheng practically dragged him down the street, straight for the orphanage.
“Wanyin, what
what are we doing here?” Lan Xichen asked, just as the door opened and the orphanage director and Jingyi stepped out.
“Mr. Lan!” Jingyi exclaimed, running over to Lan Xichen.  Lan Xichen’s eyes widened as he knelt down, holding open his arms to Jingyi, who ran into them and gave him a great big hug.
“Is it true, Mr. Lan?  Are you really adopting me?” Jingyi asked as he pulled away.  Lan Xichen’s eyes widened and he looked up at Jiang Cheng, who just winked at him before turning to look at the orphanage director.
“If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to call” he instructed.  The orphanage director smiled and nodded.
“I won’t.  Thank you, Mr. Jiang” he thanked as Jiang Cheng turned to look at Lan Xichen and Jingyi.
“Well Jingyi?  Are you ready to go home?” he asked.  Jingyi looked up at him before he nodded.  Jiang Cheng smiled and held out his hand, which Jingyi quickly grabbed before grabbing Lan Xichen’s as he stood to his feet.
“Wanyin
I don’t
how did you
” he started when Jiang Cheng chuckled.
“Oh
it came to me in a dream” he replied.  Lan Xichen looked at him before he smiled and shook his head.
“You truly are something, Jiang Wanyin” he murmured.  Jiang Cheng chuckled.
“I know” he replied as he, Jingyi, and Lan Xichen walked out of the orphanage, both men holding Jingyi’s hand.
~*~*~*~*~
Later that evening, Lan Xichen, Jiang Cheng, and Jingyi, as well as Jiang Cheng’s siblings, Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian and Lan Xichen’s brother Lan Wangji (who was also Wei Wuxian’s husband) had a Christmas party.  It was Jingyi’s first real Christmas party and that made it extra special for everyone, especially for Jiang Cheng, who hadn’t celebrated Christmas since the day his mother dragged him out of Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji’s house.
“Are you enjoying the party, Wanyin?” Lan Xichen asked as he looked over at Jiang Cheng, who nodded.
“It’s
it’s been a while since I’ve had a Christmas party
I’ve forgotten how much fun they are” he replied.  Lan Xichen smiled, just as Wei Wuxian clapped his hands.
“Alright, time to open gifts!  Jingyi, since this is your first real Christmas, you get to open a present first” he declared.  Jingyi’s eyes widened and he looked at the presents around the makeshift tree before he looked back at Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen.
“Which one should I open?” he asked.  Jiang Cheng smiled before he held out a card.
“This one” he stated.  Jingyi frowned.
“A card?” he asked.  Jiang Cheng smiled.
“It’s what’s inside the card that’s important” he replied.  Jingyi frowned but took the card anyways, tearing open the envelope before opening the card and reading it.  As he was reading it, tears began to fill his eyes and looked up at Jiang Cheng.
“Really?  Do you really mean it?” he whispered.  Jiang Cheng smiled and nodded.
“I do” he replied.  Jingyi let out a wet laugh before he stood to his feet and launched himself into Jiang Cheng’s arms, hugging him tightly.
“Thank you, thank you” he whispered.  Lan Xichen looked over at Jiang Cheng in confusion before he reached down and picked up the card, reading the contents before he let out a gasp and covered his mouth.
“Xichen?  What is it?  What’s wrong?” Jiang Yanli asked, concern on her face.  Lan Xichen shook his head as he smiled, tears in his eyes.
“A-Cheng
A-Cheng offered to pay for Jingyi’s chemotherapy and hospital charges.  He actually has a fighting chance against his cancer” he whispered.  Jiang Yanli, Wei Wuxian, and Lan Wangji looked at him in surprise and shock before Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian smiled fondly, both siblings winking at Jiang Cheng.  Jiang Cheng let out a laugh before he looked at Jingyi.
“Come on now, you have so many more presents to open!” he exclaimed.  Jingyi looked at him and nodded before he climbed off of Jiang Cheng’s lap and sat before the tree, beginning to tear open the different presents.  While Lan Wangji, Wei Wuxian, and Jiang Yanli “ooed” and “awed” at the different presents that Jingyi was opening, Jiang Cheng leaned against Lan Xichen, Lan Xichen wrapping an arm around Jiang Cheng as both men watched their new son open his presents with his new family.
“Merry Christmas, Wanyin” Lan Xichen whispered.  Jiang Cheng smiled.
“Merry Christmas, Huan” he whispered back.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
