“MUNSON!”

“SHIT!”

In just his boxers, Eddie scrambled off of the bed. He didn’t have time to put his clothes back on so he just gathered them in his arms and went to make his escape out of the window.

Halfway out of the window, he froze when Steve cleared his throat. He turned his head, his eyes wide in fear.

The Older Harrington stood in the doorway of his younger sister's room. His hands on his hips.

Eddie gave him a sheepish smile. “Hey, Steve. What’s up, Man?”

Mortified, Y/N hid under her sheets.

“Both of you get your clothes on and you get your ass on the bed, Munson.”

“Okay!”

He stared down Eddie and Y/N like a disapproving parent.

“This better be the last close call! Do I make myself clear?”

They nodded.

“Y/N, what were you thinking? You’re both still in high school.”

“I know, Steve. I’m sorry. We just got caught up in the he-“

Steve held up his hand. “I don’t want to know. Just promise me that you two will think next time.”

They nodded their heads again. “We promise.”

“Good. I’m not ready to be an uncle just yet,” he said. “From now on the door stays open 6 inches.”

“Okay, Hopper.”

“I could ban Eddie from the house.”

“You wouldn’t.”

He knew she was right, but he wouldn’t admit it. He crossed his arms over his chest and squared his shoulders.

“You want to take that chance?”

Y/N clenched her jaw and deflated with a huff.

“Fine.”

Steve turned his attention to Eddie whose face was drained of all its color.

“6 inches,” he stated.

“Yeah,” Eddie agreed without hesitation. “6 inches sounds good.”

"Can Eddie spend the night?" Y/N asked when Steve was about to walk out of the room.

He stopped and peaked over his shoulder. Her eyes were wide and pleading.

"We promise no funny business."

"Fine, but hands to yourself." He gave Eddie a pointed look.

The Metalhead raised his ringed hands in surrender.

Y/N smiled at her brother. "Thank you, Stevie."

"Yeah. Yeah. You're welcome," he muttered as he left her room. Though he had the fullest intention of peaking into it randomly throughout the night. His sister was trustworthy and smart enough not to make the same mistake, he still wasn't sure about Munson however.

I really do sound like Hopper.
