Steve knows people.
As much as his little monster-fighting family likes to believe Steve doesnât know much, Steve definitely Knows people. Steve can read anyone like a book, based on what they choose to wear, how they choose to act, what they choose to say.
It was a survival tactic leftover from growing up the child of a millionaire; attending fancy parties and big holiday dinners with people his father did business with. Meeting a bunch of very particular adults, always having to respond in the exact right way to keep his father in good professional standings.
Steve could have a five minute conversation with someone and know for sure whether he ever wanted to see that person again.
Steve knows people.
And that is exactly why Steve is confused out of his mind about one Eddie Munson.
See, Steve has been âputting the moves,â as Robin calls it, on Eddie for the last three months. He had been pulling out every stop, trying his best to romance Eddie like one of those suave men from the books that had every bored housewife in Hawkins panting.
Steve knows Eddie likes him back. When Steve calls, Eddieâs bored sounding voice perks up half an octave when Steve starts to speak. Every time Eddie sees Steve, his face softens and he gets this dopey smile, like heâs smoked 3 joints in the last 15 minutes. Eddie always reaches out to touch Steve, and when Steve returns the favor, Eddie leans into him like a metalhead-sized cat.
It is an inherent fact to Steve that Eddie likes him back.
So when Eddie rushes a goodbye, or pulls away from a touch thatâs a second too long to be platonic, or refuses to make eye contact when Steve would really like to kiss him, it confuses the goddamn shit out of Steve.
And thatâs exactly what Steve says.
Theyâre sitting on the roof of Eddieâs van, looking up at the stars, elbows touching as they each pillow their heads on their hands. Theyâd just snuffed out the butt of their second joint of the night, and were basking in the lovely high, the beauty of the night sky, and each otherâs company.
And Steve, as weâd established before, mutters under his breath: âyou confuse the goddamn shit out of me.â
And Eddie, startled and confused, does what he does best: he laughs.
Which makes Steve laugh.
Which makes Eddie laugh harder.
Soon enough theyâre both clutching their bellies and cackling out into the warm summer Indiana night.
Eddie sits up to catch his breath, crossing his legs and turning towards Steve. âWere you talking to me?â
Steve looked up at Eddie and placed one hand under his head, one on his stomach. âYeah.â
âI confuse the goddamn shit out of you?â
Steve chuckled, still panting from the laughter. âYeah.â
Eddie raised his eyebrows and poked Steve in the side.
Steve chuckled again, and shook his head. âYou just confuse me, man. Us. This. Itâs confusing.â
Eddie shrank a bit. He knew where this was going. (no he didnât.) âOh?â he mumbled, fumbling with his rings, avoiding eye contact.
Steve laughed. âThatâs what I mean. Youâre so confusing. You act like you want to kiss me so bad.â
Eddie froze.
Eddieâs brain was definitely broken.
Eddie had definitely smoked too much.
âI- you- what??â
Steve laughed.
Eddie blinked several times, wearing the most adorable confused expression. It made Steveâs heart melt. âI act⊠I donât- what do you mean I ACT like I want to kiss you?!â
Steve took a deep breath and sat up, turned to face Eddie, and crossed his legs, touching both knees to Eddieâs. He covered Eddieâs fidgeting hands with his own right hand, and placed his left hand on Eddieâs thigh, just above his right knee. He leaned closer, watching Eddieâs chocolate eyes widen, darken, and flit to his lips. Steve smiled and Eddieâs breath caught, his hands flinching under Steveâs, and his eyelids fluttering in shock, before once again meeting Steveâs eyes.
Steve raised his eyebrows. âThat.â
Eddieâs brain was still rebooting. âWhat?â
Steve shook his head and laughed. âYou. Act. Like. You. Want. To. Kiss. Me.â
Eddie took a deep breath. âSteve, Iâm gay.â
Steve laughed again, and Eddie frowned. âWhat the hell, Steve?â
Steve laughed again.
Eddie scoffed and started to move away, but Steveâs hands, previously laying innocently on Eddieâs hands and thigh, now gripped him firmly, keeping him close.
âEddie. I know youâre gay.â
Eddie blinked. âThen why are you confused?â
Steve let his eyes very obviously find Eddieâs lips, lingering there a long pause, before bringing them back up to meet Eddieâs, which are now almost entirely consumed by the black of his blown pupils. âBecause you act like you want to kiss me sooo bad, and yet, here I sit. Unkissed.â
Eddie visibly stalled. His entire body flinched, he blinked several times, and his mouth opened a fraction of an inch and he inhaled as if to speak, but made absolutely no sound.
Steve smiled and started to stroke Eddieâs hands and clothed thigh with his thumbs, silently showing Eddie heâs not going anywhere, waiting patiently for Eddie to sort through the obvious shock that this new information has triggered.
After a moment of intermittent blinking, Eddie took a deep breath. âYou- I⊠I didnât think that was an option.â
Steve chuckled and licked his lips. âIt is most certainly an option.â
Eddie nodded. âOkay.â
Steve waited.
And waited.
âSteve?â
âyeah?â
âYouâre saying I can kiss you now?â
Steve giggled. âYeah, Eddie. I am saying that.â
Eddie nodded. âOkay.â
Steve waited again. âUnless.. Youâd rather I kissed you?â
âNo, no, I wanna do it.â
Steve nodded. âOkay.â
Eddie let his hands slip from underneath Steveâs, Steve moving his hand to Eddieâs other knee. Eddie cupped Steveâs face, fingertips threading into the hair behind his ears, his thumbs resting so gently on Steveâs cheeks. Eddie held Steve like he had the entire world in his hands, and for the first time in Steveâs life, he felt precious. Nobody had ever handled Steve so delicately, and his head was swimming.
Eddieâs eyes searched Steveâs face like he was looking for something, like heâd never get another chance, like he actually cared. Eddie looked at Steve like he was a sculpture in a museum, and it made Steve dizzy.
As Eddie shortened the distance between them, the last thing Steve saw before he closed his eyes was Eddieâs face flash with the most excited expression heâd ever seen, and Steveâs heart filled with joy.
And then Eddieâs lips touched Steveâs and his own brain failed him. Heâd kissed plenty of people before but itâs never been quite like this. Eddieâs kiss was firm, soft, and entirely sure of himself, as if he didnât spend months too afraid to do it.
Eddieâs hands advanced further into Steveâs hair, cupping the nape of his neck, tilting Steveâs head to deepen the kiss. Eddieâs tongue slid along Steveâs bottom lip, and took the opportunity of Steveâs surprised gasp to let itself into Steveâs mouth. Eddieâs tongue on his own distracted Steve from Eddieâs hands, and the next thing Steve knew, he was on his back with Eddie hovering over him, his knees straddling Steveâs hips, one hand shielding the back of Steveâs head from the metal of the van, his other hand holding Steveâs chest down, heating Steveâs soul through the thin material of his shirt.
Steve turned away to catch his breath, allowing Eddie to move his kisses to Steveâs jaw, hot breath on Steveâs neck sending entirely too much of his blood south. Steve sighed, shaking his head and let out an airy laugh. âYou are so confusing.â
Eddie laughed into Steveâs ear. âWhat now?â His voice was deep and cracked, his breath in Steveâs ear making Steve shiver and grip Eddieâs lean hips.
âYou-â Steve panted while Eddie continued kissing his neck, âYou acted so shy, for months, like you were too afraid to kiss me, driving me goddamn crazy. I could see how badly you wanted it and you never did anything about it. And now, here you are on top of me, melting me into fucking putty.â He pants a few seconds more, relishing the feeling of his earlobe in Eddieâs mouth. âWhy didnât you do us both a favor and do this months ago??â
âI told you,â Eddie mumbled, lifting his face up to meet Steveâs eyes with the most wicked grin, finally touching his own body to Steveâs in a full-body grind that led with his hips, followed with his chest, and ended with a loud groan from Steve, âI didnât think that was an option.â

Summary: Eddie so desperately wants to get laid and seeks you out as an option. He gets more than what he bargained for when he finds out the hard truth why you donât stick your dick in crazy.
A/N: This was super fun and experimental and I donât care that it flops I love it đ„°
Eddie groggily trudges into the lunchroom, appearing more disheveled than usual. He plops down into his seat, the bickering amongst his peers ceases as they look at him with concern.
âEds, you look like shit.â Jeff says.
âYeah, what gives?â Gareth chimes in.
Eddie darts his eyes on each side before speaking. âCover your ears, little sheep.â
Dustin, Mike, and Lucas exchange confused looks. Impatient; Eddie waves a dismissive hand and they eventually obey grumbling about how stupid it is.
âGentlemen, I wantâno, noâŠI need to get laid. It is actually concerning,â Eddie begins, flexing his fingers in an open and shut fist. âThis handâŠsatisfies me no longer. I need to get my dick wet or I think I might go insane. Itâs gotten so bad to the point where this morning, I opted to ride a crowded bus instead of driving simply because I wanted to feel the warmth of a woman. As the kids say, âI am down horrendousâ.â
âMe too,â Gareth sighs in frustration. âI donât even care for penetration. I just want to be held.â
âBoy, Iâm sure lucky Iâve got a girlfriend to get laid whenever I want. I mean, wellâŠwhenever she wants,â Jeffâs smile slowly fades as he stares into space. âItâs been 3 weeks and counting but itâll be anytime before she comes asking. Aaaanytime.â
âI bet Iâd get some before Jeffy gets any again.â Gareth chuckles.
âNot before me.â Eddie challenges.
âAre you both making a bet on the basis of my suffering?â Jeff asks, nostrils fuming.
âYep, yeah, pretty much.â Eddie and Gareth say in unison.
âAnd how the hell are you two planning on doing that? Weâre lucky we even lost our virginities to begin with. Where the hell are you two going to find girls willing to sleep with you when you canât even look âem in the eyes?â Jeff inquires.
âMaybe I could direct you plebeians to a solution?â Dustin interjects, causing the three older boys to turn their attention his way. Heâs tapping the tips of his fingers together, a mischievous smirk on his face,
âNo offense, Henderson,â Eddie scoffs. âBut what the shit could you possibly help us with? Just last week, you thought the condoms in Steveâs bedroom were balloons.â
âObviously, Iâm referring you to him. He helped me build my confidence with the ladies,â Dustin trills in a dorky growl that causes everyone to cringe. âWouldnât have the guts to speak to my Suzie-poo if it werenât for him. If youâre looking to make some happy screams, heâs your guy.â
âNo way,â Eddie laughs. âIâm not some sorry loser taking a class on picking up chicks.â
âThatâs exactly what you are.â Lucas argues.
âAu contraire, Sinclair,â Eddie begs to differ. âWould a sorry loser shred âMaster of Puppetsâ on guitar after just a week of listening to the song?â
âYes, thatâs huge loser energy.â Mike answers.
âWe have a campaign to run in a week,â Dustin says. âIâd rather you two have the heads on your shoulders to be in the game and nothing otherwise.â
And pathetic as it is, Eddie and Gareth would soon find themselves in front of Steveâs dorm room. Dustin lays a few knocks on the door as the older pair internally ping-ponged between pessimistic embarrassment and optimistic desire.
Steve opens the door with a knowing smile. âWell, well, well boys. Iâd say Iâm surprised to see you but my loyal client here has informed me of your arrival,â He touches two fingers to his temple as if to concentrate his âpowersâ. âLemme guess, you both wish to consecrate with women.â
âIâŠthink you mean âconsummateâ.â Dustin corrects.
âThatâs what I said,â Steve snorts, throwing open his door and gesturing inside with a repeated swat of his hand. âCome on, letâs get this show on the road, Iâve got a date with twins. One at 8 and the other at 10.â
âTwins?â Gareth whisper-yell, shooting Eddie a look of excitement.
âYouâre bluffing.â Eddie dismisses.
âIf Iâm lying, Iâm crying,â Steve says before showing off his phone screen with a photo of the girls. âAnd you donât see any tears, do you?â
âTeach us your ways, oh, great Master.â Gareth says in awe.
âThatâs King to you. Have a seat and listen well, boys.â Steve instructs before sitting on the edge of his computer desk while three boys sit on a small sofa across from him. âFirst off, you gotta weigh out your options. If youâre in it for the long haul, then you can go for the girl that takes a lot of effort to get. These are usually the girls you mightâve been pining for, for a while. But since youâre looking for a quick nut, then youâll need to weigh out your feasible options. Gare Bear, whatcha got?â
âHelen from the drama club. Oh, and thereâs this cute barista at my local coffee shop thatâs been giving me the eye whenever I come by. She even puts a heart over the âiâ in my name.â Gareth says.
âYou donât have an âiâ in your name.â Eddie says, blinking in bewilderment.
âI know her!â Dustin exclaims. âMy mom does some light chatting with her here and there whenever she picks up her coffee. The âeyeâ youâre referring to is just an involuntary twitching of the eye from prolonged exposure to bright lights in the shop,â Dustin explains to Gareth who begins to slump in defeat. âB-but on the bright side, theyâve fixed those pesky lights recently so if sheâs giving you the eye, itâd be for real this time.â
âIâm pretty sure she puts an âiâ with a heart on everyoneâs coffee cups,â Steve adds. âCute girl but not the best speller.â
âYouâre not helping, buddy.â Dustin sing-songs, through gritted teeth.
âWhat about you, Munster? Whatâre your options?â Steve asks with an inquisitive rubbing of his chin.
Eddie searches his thoughts. âNo one.â
âYouâve gotta give me something to work with, fellas,â Steve sighs. âSomeoneâs gotta come to mind.â
âDude, what about that juvie chick? The one who lives in the same park as you,â Gareth suggests. âWasnât she like your childhood friend or something? Youâd be so in there!â
â(Name)?! Fuck no!â Eddie shouts. âShe wasnât my friend. She was my first bully.â
ââââ
Age 13
The first time heâd met you, you were both in cuffs at a police station. The two of you sat across from one another as you awaited to place a phone call to your guardians.
Suddenly you retrieved a hair pin from your mouth, clutching it firmly between your teeth as you brought your shackled hands up to your face and picked the lock. Not a moment later, you were free. Eddie could only watch on in awe as you stood up, the cops too busy to notice you.
âA little help here. I canât have my uncle see me in this place again.â Eddie whispered to you.
âOf course.â You said with a sweet smile before tossing the bobby pin at his feet. âGood luck.â
With a quick blow of a kiss, you strode away and Eddieâs expression morphed into bafflement and dismay.
âHey! I canât reach it!â Eddie shouted but youâd been long gone and heâs now alerted the police to your departure.
Age 14
Since then, he was sure heâd never see you again until he briefly attended an alternative school and ran into you again. The moment you saw him, you purposefully tripped him to the ground for âratting you outâ.
The torment only seemed to worsen once you began to actively seek his friendship because very few were brave enough to befriend you. Sometimes, youâd invite him over to your trailer home and heâd get a glimpse of exactly why you are the way you are. As you are the youngest and the only girl in the family of a workaholic father and 3 older brothers who were just as chaotic and malicious as you. Then came the day youâd make your âfriendshipâ official, when you all but cornered him in the boysâ locker room.
âMunson, Iâm looking for a best friend.â You nonchalantly asked, unfazed by the half-naked boys running amuck at your presence.
âAre you stupid? You canât be here! Youâll get in trouble.â Eddie chastised.
âWhat else is new?â You shrugged before taking his hand. âCome on, applications are open and I canât imagine being besties with anyone other than you.â
âW-what happened to the last guy?â He asks while recalling the last boy toy that youâve once dragged around the school.
âLetâs just say the âbestieâ slot opened up after my last one yelled at me in class. Heard he got visited by the men in white that very same day. Something about an anonymous person calling into a mental institution to report him for his aggression. Wonder who it couldâve been.â You ended with a feigned innocent look.
Eddie really wished he couldâve said ânoâ. But he couldnât dare end up like the last guy. Even as his peers from behind your view, mimed and charaded away gestures advising against itâ, Eddie reluctantly agreed. Thus began a whirlwind of a friendship filled with lots of delinquency and drama.
Age 15
Then by the grace of whatever, Eddie had been able to leave the alternative school and attend Hawkins High after teachers cited an improvement in his performance in his classes. He was finally going to be free.
âIt really sucks to see you go. Youâre probably going to be so lost without me. If youâd like I could create a distraction thatâll allow us to stay together.â
âNo!â Eddie yells then immediately adjusts his tone. âI meanâŠno. Itâs probably for the best that I go to a boring old public school. We had good times but, alas, we must part. I could only hope that weâll meet again someday.â
âWell, you may be going to a different school but we can still hang out afterschool. We live in the same place after all.â You beamed.
âIâm moving,â Eddie quickly lied. âPossibly very far away. To a remote area thatâs so far, there isnât even an address you can call in to or send me letters or anything.â
âDamn, sounds like my last juvie center. Iâll be wishing for the day we meet again, bestie.â And with that you gave him a crushing hug.
It was a shitty thing to do. Lying to a supposed âfriendâ. He knew. But what else could he have done? You were a lot and sometimes quite the nightmare. Heâd have died an early death messing around with you. Ever since then, he avoided you at all costs, making sure to never cross paths with you again. Heâd done so successfully for about 3-4 years. Hell, youâve probably forgotten about him.
If heâs that luckyâŠ
âââ
âShe made me take the fall for a lot of things she did, treated me like a lapdog, made me get into situations where I couldâve diedâ you know, she once tied me to a tree and left me there for an hour. I had to break out of it on my own only to find out that sheâd been only a couple feet away, timing my escape. Last I heard, she hasnât changed.â
âYeah, but have you seen her as of late? Sheâs fucking hot. Iâd thank her if she were to spit on me.â Gareth says dreamily while Dustin furrows his brows in disgust.
âThen why donât you try your luck with her instead?â Eddie asks.
âBecause sheâs clearly into you.â Gareth retorts.
âIâd advise neither of you two to mess with her,â Steve warns. âThe hotter a crazy woman isâbuckle the fuck up because youâll be in for a wild rollercoaster ride. Your inexperienced nerdy hearts couldnât possibly take that much excitement. They donât call her âThe Sirenâ for shits and giggles.â
âSiren?â Eddie questions.
âSirens are evil mythical creatures that lure men to their dooms.â Dustin clarifies.
âSounds about right.â Eddie mutters.
âYou guys ever heard of Norm Prescott?â Steve questions ominously.
âWho?â The boys ask at once.
âExactly,â Steve says while pointing a finger. âNorm was a kid in my year. Good kid. Captain of the robotics club. Member of the swim team. The poor bastard came across her page on a dating app last year, messaged her, fucked her and he was never seen again. Rumor has it, he went completely insane after one night with her and needed to attend college in a different city in order to be free of her spell. Pussy from a crazy chick will ruin your fucking life. Heed my words: Do not stick your dick in crazy.â
âI donât knowâŠThat sounds kind of metal.â Eddie admits.
âYeah. What could possibly go wrong?â Gareth asks.
âPretty much everything from the way that eerily sounded.â Dustin shudders.
âDudes, sheâs not actually some evil mythicalâŠâ Eddieâs voice trails off before he correctly starts up again. âSheâs not a mythical creature. Just an adrenaline junkie with a sadistic streak.â
âSomehow that sounds worse.â Dustin comments.
âSo youâre going to do it?!â Gareth asks.
ââCourse not,â Eddie scoffingly laughs. âIâm desperateâŠbut Iâm not that desperate.â
âGood boy,â Steve praises before taking a swig of his beer. âThe tale of Norm Prescott is a cautionary one. I donât want to see any of the people I care for lured to their doom. OhâŠand I guess I wouldnât want that for you guys either.â
âI think Iâll go ahead and consider myself lucky that Iâll never have to experience some shit like that.â Dustin sighs in relief.
âWait for it.â The older three reply in unison.
âââ
Eddieâs stomach churned with envy when he learned that two days later Jeff had gotten some from his girlfriend, noticing the bounce in his step. It felt almost like a bad omen to him which confirmed his paranoia when Gareth had bragged to him about receiving the local baristaâs number, citing King Steve as his guru.
Though no serious stakes were in place, Eddie truly felt as though heâd max out all his options. He couldnât possibly be the only one caught in a dry spell when heâs already regarded as a freak enough!
Maybe a night with you didnât seem so bad after all.
âI see that look in your eyes,â Steve says, tossing a card into the pile before suavely leaning back in his chair. âYouâre thinking about fucking her, arenât you?â
âGah, this again!â Dustin groans, angrily tossing a card on top. âItâs already bad enough I nearly walked in on Nancy and Jonathan doing the âhokey pokeyâ while needing the bathroom at Mikeâs place. Something must be in the air. Hormones, pheromones, angstâI donât flippinâ know.â
âH-how is she by the way?â Steve says breaking his f-boy persona. âShe ever asked about me.â
âYes, Stevie, Iâm sure she thought of you while getting railed against a bathroom sink by Johnny boy.â Eddie says sarcastically.
âYouâre a little snappy.â Steve grumbles.
âBecause Iâm frustrated,â Eddie cries. âGarethâs probably going to get off before me. In fact, everyone willâmaybe even youâll get some before me, Dustin, because apparently Iâm so much of a loser that I canât get a single girl to want me.â
âMaybe you should just go for the crazy chick. Itâs been years. Iâm sure sheâs changed. Befriend her again so that youâll finally get some action and we donât have to hear you yapping about being a sad little virgin all the time. I mean, how bad could she really be?â Dustin poses the question.
âNorm PrescottâŠâ Steve singsongs.
âBut did he die?â Dustin counters.
Steve stands corrected, quirking his head. âYouâve got a point there.â
âSh-should I really? What if she hates me?â Eddie ask timidly.
âHate sex with a crazy lady? Sounds like a deadly mix. Not a bad way to go if you ask me.â Steve says.
âââ
âHot date tonight, tiger?â Wayne asks with an amused smile and arms crossed as he leans against his nephewâs door frame.
âActually, Iâm going to see an old friend.â Eddie says vaguely, causing Wayne to tilt his head in suspicion.
âYou mean that sailor-mouthed girl you used to get up to no good with? Didnât you used to beg me to lie about your whereabouts to her?â
âWe were only immature children then, Way-dog,âEddie excuses. âWeâve grown apart from our former selves.â
âJust last week, you asked me to schedule a dentist appointment for you because you were afraid to speak to a live person.â Wayne deadpans.
âI wasâŠsaving my vocals for a gig.â Eddie justifies.
Wayne sighs, knowing exactly what his nephew is going to get up to. So like the supportive parent that he is, he slips a row of condoms into the pocket of Eddieâs leather jacket.
âJust be careful, son,â Wayne says while patting his chest. âWearing protection can save you in a lot of waysââ
âO-kay, Iâm getting a little uncomfortable. Goodbye.â Eddie flushes red, knowing by now that his own uncle knew the rule of crazy women and that his poor nephew was too far gone to help himself.
Once Eddieâs out the door, his body shakes at the thought of seeing you again after all these years. Would you remember him fondly or as a liar?
Then, he spots you sunbathing in a lawn chair, puffing a vape pen and flipping through a magazine. Youâre in a tight yellow bikini with only a small sheer coverall around your waist. Your skin looks so well moisturized, he can tell youâd feel so soft. That thought alone was enough encouragement to keep him going.
He clears his throat and you choose to ignore it at first until heâd done it again. You lower your heart-shaped sunglasses, glaring up at him for a moment before your expression softensâin fact, it brightens once heâs sure you recognized him.
âBestieâŠthat you?â You ask, rising to your feet.
âIn the flesh.â Eddie says nervously shifting his weight on either foot.
âItâs been so long,â You hugged him with that same crushing power that was all too familiar. He should be traumatized but instead he shudders happily, breathing in your vanilla scent. âHow are you?â
You pulled away and he had to catch himself from pathetically chasing your embrace.
âIâm great. Really great. Y-you look like youâre doing well, too.â Eddie says with an anxious giggle.
âI am. Thanks for noticing,â You say almost suggestively. âYou wanna come inside so you and I can properly catch up? My brothers arenât home.â
âYes!â He says a little too eagerly and it makes you laugh.
âWell, come on in then, partner. Donât be shy,â You beckon, taking his hand and leading him into your lair. âI only bite when necessary.â
His heart beats a mile a minute when instead of being led to sit at the sofa, heâs dragged to your bedroom. He fiddles with his fingers nervously as you begin to lock the door. You turn to face him again with that famous mischievous smirk.
âYou remember as kids when we used to play doctor? Those were fun times, right?
Dustin was sooo wrong. You didnât change whatsoever and Eddieâs slowly regretting his decision.
âY-yeah. So fun,â He lies, swallowing the hard lump in his throat before taking steps back at your inching approach. âThough, you had me shitting bricks at times when you suggested we use real medical tools instead.â
âI was only messing with you.â
âHard to believe that when you used to chase me with a pair of scissors.â The backs of Eddieâs knees hit the edge of your bed and his arms flail to keep himself upright.
âBut friends can tell little white lies here and there? I never intended on hurting you. Not too badly at least. You know a thing or two about lying to your friendsâŠdonât you, Edward?â The moment youâre a little too close for his liking, Eddie dashes from in front of you and towards your bedroom door but the complicated locks scramble his brain. He quickly faces you again, not wanting to keep his eyes from you too long in case you do something.
You plant your hands on either side of his head, closing the gaps between your bodies. Your full breasts are pressed up against him and yet heâs too scared to care.
âWhyâd you lie, bestie?â You ask. âDidnât we have fun times together? We roughhoused, got into some wild antics, and we even cried together.â
Except, it was Eddie that was doing most of the crying!
âI-I didnât mean toâŠt-o...â Eddie says, voice pitched high.
âTo lie? Oh, Eddie, mother tells me that when a man lies, he certainly means to do so,â You give a low, dark chuckle. âSo after all these years, Eddie, why did you decide to see your dear old pal again?â
âT-to apologize.â He swallows.
âWith your cock?â You ask with an innocent tone, batting your lashes. You glide a hand up his inner thigh until it lands on the hard bulge in his jeans, palming him in your surprisingly strong yet dainty-looking hands.
He gasps, fearing that youâd be psychotic enough to break his dick. âIâm sorry. Iâm so fucking sorry. Just please let me go and I will never bother you again.â
âOh, Iâll let you go,â You flick your tongue along the bottom length of his straight nose. âBut Iâd like to play a gameâŠfor old times sake.â
âIs it âsmackdownâ?â He whimpers.
âI was actually going to suggest a game of âGo Fishâ since youâre always so good at that,â You blink blankly before a sinister expression takes over. âBut I like your idea.â
He curses himself in his head, helpless as you grab fistfuls of his jacket and drag him away from the door.
âSmackdownâ was a wrestling game the two of you created sprinkled with your own sadistic twist in which you two used to wrestle one another. Eddie quite liked to play wrestling with you but as a scrawny kid back then, youâd always win the match. The rules were that youâd have to pin your opponent to the ground for at least 7 seconds. Winner gets the choice to do whatever they want.
If Eddieâs going to get himself out of this mess, he needs to use all the strength heâs got. No holding back. Luckily for him, heâd grown a lot bigger than you.
On either side of the room, you two stare intensely at one another. Eddie charges you with a loud battle cry and pins you down to your fluffy white rug. Heâs never had this much of the upper hand. Never gotten past 3 seconds. Itâs almost too good to be true.
But when heâs gotten past 4 seconds his heart soars as he can practically taste the freedom. Seeing you struggle for free yourself beneath him was quite satisfying within itself. But then at the 6 second mark, you made the cruelest move yetâŠyou reminded him of his desperation.
You lunged forward and kissed him.
Distracted by this, Eddie releases your wrist in shock. Youâre quick to gain the advantage as you roll on top of him and pin his wrists down for the 7 seconds.
âI win.â You gloat.
âYou cheated!â He hisses.
âYouâre allowed to play dirty or did you forget the rules.â
âWhat are you going to do to me? Scour the internet for the worse medieval forms of torture to use against me?â
âTempting,â You say and Eddie wishes heâd shut his big fucking mouth. âBut I like my idea better.â
Digging your nails into his scalp and gathering a large amount of his hair in your hand, you crash your lips onto his again. Your other free hand fiddles with the zipper of his jeans and he moans into the kiss when your hands are enclosed around his girthy member.
âIâve got this new wrestling move Iâve been dying to try,â You whisper against his lips before nipping the bottom lip. âI like to call it the amazon warrior power press. Wanna see?â
By the time youâre through with him; youâve tossed him in every position you could think of and used him like a proper toyâyouâve officially ruined all women for him. Heâs never been fucked as if he were a slut. Cum-filled condoms like inflated balloons piling up beside his head after every round; heâd lost count after 4.
He was a drooling, pussy-drunken fool by the end of it but you gave him no time to bask in it as youâd pushed him out of your home practically naked.
In his underwear, his clothes and shoes in a balled-up mess in his handsâdeep hickies and love bites littered all over his skin, he looks up at you on your porch with a desperate yet hopeful smile. His friends will mourn Eddie Munson for he, too, has been cursed with the same spell that once begot Norm Prescott. And even worse, he didnât have the capacity to care.
âWill I get to see you again?â Eddie says while fumbling to catch his things from falling. âIâd like to take you out on a date sometime. M-maybe I could get your number?
âSorry, bestie,â You say, faking a sad pout. âBut Iâm moving.â
And with that, you shut the door square in his face.

@steddie-week Day 2 - Hands
i'm challenging myself to keep each of these at 660 words; see day one for more of an explanation!
Steve is going insane.
Has been for a while now, actually, about the same fuckinâ thing.
Things. There are two of them.
And the fact that these specific ones are what done him in.Â
Of all the hands heâs held, had pressed to him both in loving embrace and in the sharp stings of a punch, of a slap⊠these ones are driving him crazy.
Theyâre seemingly everywhere. They take up the precious little room in his head for conscious thought (head injuries will do that) whether or not theyâre even in the room with him.
It's not even that he's starved for touch either, as Robin first assumed, he's normally a very tactile guy to start with! Touch is a regular occurrence for him.
But those hands. With their ringed fingers and warm, dry palms that are somehow the perfect shape for the sharp curve of his jaw.
The hands that first held him firm with anger, with fear, that now have 1) rubbed his back on multiple occasions, 2) carded through his hair exactly once, 3) have found themselves resting over his shoulder, on his thigh (brief as it was), and along the side of his face.
That last one was the one that really did it.
It was teasingly, too. Robin said he was thinking too much about it at first, but Steve didnât think he was thinking about it enough.Â
For hours upon hours Steve thought about the feeling of Eddie Munsonâs hands cradling his face while their owner cooed a soft âAwe, you okay, sweetheart? You feelinâ alright?â to him.
He laughed it off at the time, pushing Eddie and his damn hands off him and back to his side of the counter at Family Video with a âGet off me, dude.â like an idiot.
Eddieâs added teasing to Robinâs good-natured ribbing about his most recent addition to her now-hypothetical âYOU SUCKâ column is all it was. Teasing. No matter how often he thought about that moment in the weeks after.
âSteve!â
He startles at the noise, turning to Robin wide-eyed âWhat?! Iâm standing Right Here yâknow.â
âBut your brain wasn't Right Here now was it?â
âI heard you.â
âI called your name three times.â
â...Nuh uh.â
Robin rolls her eyes at him, âWhatever, can you put your Eddie fantasies away for like an hour so we can go through the inventory?â
He can, though after an hour passes and theyâre not even close to a third of the way done sorting through new tapes, Steve finds himself nearly bursting with the need to talk about his crush.
âI bet heâs good with his fingers.â
âGross!â
âI mean because he plays guitar!â
Robin drops the tape in her hand to cover both her ears, âLalalalalalalaaa!â
âIâm sorry! I donât know whatâs wrong with me.â
âYes you do,â she says, picking the tape back up and placing it on an already too-tall stack. âYouâre super horny for him but donât want to make a move.â
âWhat if he doesnât feel the same way?â Robin snorts at him, like she does every time he says that. âHeâs just soâ and Iâm soâ and weâ Yâknow?â
âNope.â
He drops his head into his hands, sighing. It sounds sickeningly longing even to him âI just want to hold his hand.. Why?? Thatâs so dumb my heart hurts.â
Steve picks his head up when Robin doesnât say anything. Sheâs looking at him with⊠some sort of expression on her face. âWhat?â
She regards him for a second longer. âI donât think youâre horny for him.â
âOh no, believe me, I very much want him to fââ
âI donât think youâre just horny for him.â
It takes half a breath for him to get it. Surprising, given the previously mentioned lack of extra room in his brain.Â
âOh my god.â
âYup.â
âOh my god. Iâm in love with Eddie Munson.â
Another voice pipes up from behind them. âYouâre what?!â
âEddie?!â

Possessive Eddie, maybe around Rick or after a party
ps. LOVE YOU GUYS <3
GETTING TO THIS LATE but it's cuteeee omg
eddie's possessive in a sweet way in this, not dark or controlling! but warnings for implied smut, insecurities, mentions of smoking and drinking, and mentions of semi-public sex lol
You noticed that he was acting different after you tagged along to a run to Rick's; but you liked the extra attention, so you didn't say anything.
You noticed, too, the way he would get extra touchy and affectionate when you mentioned hanging out with Steve or catching up with the guys you used to share your crayons with in elementary school. Still, you didn't say anything, and you didn't quite notice the connection.
But he was all over you during Steve's party. It started the second he saw you-- he said you looked hot, which you certainly appreciated, but then it's like he couldn't keep his hands off you. You couldn't even go get a drink or take a smoke break without him clinging to you like crazy.
"What's gotten into you, barnacle?" you giggled as Eddie nuzzled into your neck from behind, mumbling something about if you were wearing new perfume or if you just smelled better than he remembered.
"Barnacle?" he repeated.
"You're all up on my stern!" you explained, and Eddie laughed a little as he wrapped his arms around you.
"Well sorr-yyy," he whined, "just wanna touch my girl, s'that a crime?"
"No," you replied, "but you always get like this when we go out anywhere. Steve may not invite us to parties anymore if I keep wearing you to them."
"So? Then we can just stay home and I can touch you even more," he purred, leaning in to kiss your face, but you pushed him back slightly as you knitted your brows together.
"What's your deal, Munson? Do you think if somebody sees me alone for a half-second they're gonna think I'm single and ask me out or something?" you wondered.
Eddie got really quiet, which was always a sign of trouble, and your eyes went wide.
"Oh, shit-- did I really get it on the first guess?" you realized.
"It's-- it's not that! Uh, not exactly..." he mumbled, looking away.
"You know I would totally shut down anybody who tried to come onto me, right?" you assured. "Just because someone thought I was single wouldn't mean--"
"No, no, I know," he shook his head, "s'not that I don't trust you. I'm just.... I'm so proud of you, y'know? And yeah, it drives me a little crazy when other guys look at you, I like reminding them they don't stand a chance-- 'cause you've got me. And I wanna remind you of that, too."
You smirked. "I'm not really at any risk of forgetting that, Ed, especially with you on me like white on rice all night."
"I'm not trying to smother you," he promised, "just want everybody in Hawkins to know you're my girl. Shit, I want everybody in the whole world to know! I bet most of 'em still couldn't believe it, that a loser like me got a girl like you."
"Please," you rolled your eyes incredulously.
"No, I'm serious!" he laughed. "Everyone already thought I was doing witchcraft before, but now that I've got you?"
He didn't even finish the thought fully, but you laughed, too, and pulled him closer by the shirt to kiss his cheek. "Okay, stud, you really want everyone to know I'm yours?" you challenged, seeing one of his eyebrows raise. "How about you take me to one of the Harringtons' half-dozen guest bathrooms and make me say your name loud enough for this whole party to hear?"
He purred as he pulled you closer at the hips. "Sounds like a deal."

Making Memories (Stranger Things - Steddie)
Summary: âLetâs go to the ocean now. Whatâs stopping us?â âI donât know, the what? four states between us and the ocean maybe?â Steve shrugged. âSo what? Itâs a 11, maybe 12 hour drive or something? We can go now and be at the beach by morning.â âYouâre crazy.â ~ Steve takes Eddie on an impromptu 12 hour road trip just so Eddie can see the ocean. Tags: Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson, Road Trip, Fluff, Eddie Munson lives Can be read as pre-relationship or established relationship This fic was inspired by the prompt "ocean" from the monthly writing challenge in my favourite discord server.
Eddie and Steve were sitting on the shore of Lovers Lake on a summer afternoon, far away from the place the gate had been, and dipped their toes in the water.Â
âSomeday Iâd like to do this at the ocean.â, Eddie said out of nowhere.Â
âWait, have you never been to the ocean before?âÂ
âSteve, when would I have been to the ocean? Iâve barely left Indiana. Does me living in a trailer park scream family vacations to you?âÂ
âSorry, I didnât think. I hope you get to go someday.âÂ
Eddie hummed. âSure, someday.âÂ
They sat in silence for a while until Steve jumped up suddenly. âLetâs go now!â
âExcuse me, what?!â
âLetâs go to the ocean now. Whatâs stopping us?â
âI donât know, the what? four states between us and the ocean maybe?â
Steve shrugged. âSo what? Itâs a 11, maybe 12 hour drive or something? We can go now and be at the beach by morning.âÂ
âYouâre crazy.âÂ
âNo Eddie, Iâm serious. Letâs go. The kids are all at camp or on vacation, Nancy and Robin are doing college crap, we have nothing to do.âÂ
âDonât you have work?âÂ
Steve waved him off. âI quit when Robin did. There is no way I can handle working with Keith as my manager without Robin. Havenât gotten around to finding a new job yet.âÂ
âI mean⊠I guess we could. But the gas would be so expensive. And where would we even sleep?âÂ
âYou have government hush money and my dad sent me a nice sum for repairs on the house after the supposed earthquake. We can swing it. And Iâm sure they have motels in whatever beach town we end up at.âÂ
âYouâre actually serious.âÂ
âYes! Come on, itâll be fun. Letâs make some happy teenage memories for once.âÂ
âIâm not a teenager anymore.âÂ
âEh close enough. Imagine the stories youâll be able to tell about this one day.âÂ
Eddie stood up. âFine, fine you convinced me. Letâs go see the ocean.âÂ
âWell we should probably pack some things. Iâll drop you off at home, go grab some stuff and then pick you up in an hour?âÂ

Take Me Home, Country Roads
Prompt Day 8: Idiots to Lovers | Word Count: 1000 | Rating: E | CW: Explicit Sexual Content, 18+ Only | Tags: Canon Divergence Post-Season 4, Eddie Munson Lives, Road Trip, Established Relationship, Motel Room, Mutual Masturbation, Hand Jobs, Dual POV, Eddie Munson is Bored
This does take place during my fic Take the Money and Run, but can be read as a standalone.
Day 60/90: November 24th, 1986 I-5, Washington
Steve
"Did we forget West Virginia?" Eddie asks, very suddenly and out of the blue.
Steve looks over at him from the driver's seat.
"What? No," Steve says, trying to lean over and look over the map while still keeping the car on the road and between the lines.
"I think we missed West Virginia," Eddie says, tracing their route.
"We definitely didn't," Steve says, because even if they did, Steve's not about to back track nearly three thousand miles. They couldn't be further from West Virginia right now unless they were floating in the Pacific ocean.Â
"Steve, I think we did," Eddie argues.
"We drove through there. For sure. I remember," Steve lies. He doesn't remember shit.
Eddie looks skeptical, like he knows Steve doesn't remember shit. But Steve's trying to sell this, even if he's not sure he's pulling it off.Â
"Maybe," Eddie says, "maybe we clipped the edge."
"We did. We definitely did," Steve assures him. He has no fucking clue if they did or not, that was months ago. Eddie tells him where to drive, and he does. He really couldn't draw a map of where they've been and where they haven't been. He figures Eddie will know. Eddie is the navigator, this is his job.Â
"Okay, we probably did," Eddie decides, and Steve relaxes into his seat.Â
Eddie's quiet for a few minutes, but then he speaks again, asking, "But what if we didn't?"
"Then we'll probably die," Steve says dryly, and Eddie laughs, tossing the atlas up onto the dash, apparently deciding to let it go. At least for right now.
Eddie
They didn't go through West Virginia. He's almost certain. He fucked this up. He's an idiot. They were supposed to hit all fifty states. Well, all forty-eight, at least. And now he's fucked that up, he's pretty sure.
Steve doesn't seem to care though, so Eddie's trying to believe they clipped the edge. That they did go through, even if they didn't really do anything. Just being there counts, as far as he's concerned.Â
They've stopped in Seattle, and it's cloudy, and definitely looking sorta gloomy. They've kind of just decided to hang around the room, waiting on a better day, but there hasn't been one. Eddie looks out of the window, into the foggy city, one more time.
Eddie's getting a little bored. A little stir crazy. He wants to do something, anything.Â
"You wanna play strip poker?" Eddie asks, glancing over at Steve.
"If you want me to get naked, just say so," Steve answers, flipping through the television channels.Â
Eddie laughs, he definitely wants Steve to get naked. He always wants Steve to get naked. But he just wants to do something, anything.Â
"I'm bored," Eddie admits. "The weather is making me sad."
Steve kicks open his legs, in invitation, "Come sit with me."
Eddie doesn't want to sit. They've sat for two days.Â
"Let's go do something, anything."
And he watches as Steve slowly, so slowly, unzips his jeans. He's smiling and it's cute, but Eddie was serious. He needs to be out of this room.Â
But then Steve's taking his dick out of his pants, and Eddie's forgotten what he was even bitching about, now. He walks to the edge of the bed, but doesn't crawl up on it, and Steve falters. Like he's not sure if he's done something stupid.
"Touch yourself," Eddie says, and Steve relaxes. And he kicks off his jeans, and his underwear. Then pulls his shirt over his head, and tosses it away, too.Â
Then he wraps a fist around his dick, and strokes himself.
Steve
He feels stupid, and a little embarrassed doing this while Eddie just watches, but Eddie digs around in the sex pumpkin, and fishes out the lube. Steve holds out his hand, and Eddie drizzles a little into his palm.Â
And then he goes back to watching, just standing there, near enough to touch him, but not doing it.
So Steve just fists his dick the way he likes, and keeps eye contact with Eddie. Sliding up, and over the head, before going back down and starting the movement all over again. He tilts his head back a little, exposing his neck, and Eddie whines, just a little.Â
It makes Steve smile.Â
"Feels good," Steve says, and when he looks back at Eddie, Eddie is rubbing his own dick through his jeans. Cupping, rolling his hand against himself, and it makes Steve's dick jump in his fist. He's so attracted to Eddie. He doesn't know how he's managed to live without looking at him. Touching him.Â
How he's lived without Eddie touching him. He really likes Eddie's hands all over him. His rings, his fingers.Â
"I want you to touch me," Steve says, and Eddie wastes no time. He crawls on the bed, nodding as he's sliding between Steve's thighs, finally wrapping his hand around Steve's dick and stroking.
Steve groans, bucking into Eddie's fist. That's good. That's so good. Better than his own hand, that's for damn sure.
Eddie strokes him, with just the right amount of pressure, and before long Steve comes. All over Eddie's hand, his own chest, hell, probably the bed.Â
"Fuck," Steve says, riding the last waves of his orgasm.Â
And then he reaches for Eddie's belt, tugging on him. Pulling him closer. Shoving him onto his back, manhandling him, a little.
"That's good," Eddie says, and Steve runs his hand over his own flagging dick, gathering up any leftover lube, and then he fists Eddie.
Eddie moans and arches upwards, coming while Steve works him through all of it. Then, Steve slides on top of him. Pressing their naked bodies together, sliding against him, even if they're both already spent. It still feels good to touch him.
When Eddie looks at him, Steve asks, "Still bored?"
"No, I'm good," Eddie answers, and Steve smiles. Leaning down to kiss him, just because he can.
Notes: Since this fic's original chapters were song titles, I went with the John Denver classic about West Virginia. Did they go through WV in the original? Like Steve, I say yes, because I definitely had developed a plan/route while writing Take the Money and Run to get them to all 50 states, but I sure can't find proof they went through there now. đ€Ł
This was prompted by THIS POST because I saw it and felt big regret that I didn't know it existed in WV while writing TtMaR. So, I was like, maybe I can fit it into a drabble? Did their route go near there?? Then I went down the rabbit hole, just like Eddie and Steve, on whether they were ever in WV at all, haha.
I loved getting to write them for a little more time, here. It was fun! (And these versions of the boys will be back on Road Trip day, too. Because, what else would I write for that prompt? LOL.)
If you want to write your own, or see more entries for this challenge, pop on over to @steddieholidaydrabbles and follow along with the fun!

for this monthâs @steddiemicrofic challenge
prompt: âcakeâ | wc: 311 | rating: E | tags/cw: anal fingering, ass eating, dirty talk, Eddie's flat ass getting the love it deserves
Filth under the cut
The three fingers in his ass are relentless, driving him crazy as they keep pushing and pulling, spreading him wide even as he desperately clenches around them. They've been at it for what feels like hours.
Steve's acting like a man possessed and Eddie can't take it anymore.
He's been on the brink ever since Steve started fingering him, already keyed up from the heavy make out session that preceded Eddie's current torment. Whimpering helplessly, Eddie pushes back against Steve's hand, urging him on, earning a sharp nip to his cheek.
"God, I love your ass, it's perfect," Steve purrs, sounding reverent as his thumb joins the other digits buried inside Eddie, exploring the tight ring of muscle and making Eddie's nerve endings sing.
"It's not. Looks like a tart compared to your fancy cake."
Steve snorts. "What?"
"It's like a deflated cake or something."
Humming, Steve twists his fingers in a way that makes Eddie squirm against the mattress. "Y'know, I love tart. Makes me ravenous."
Then there's a tongue, hot and wet as it teases between the fingers that spread him wide open. It enters him smoothly, too much and not enough, and Eddie's bunching the sheets between his fists as he writhes beneath Steve.
"I want to devour you," Steve growls as he pulls back, adding just a hint of teeth and Eddie is so fucking close. "Lick and bite and fuck your perfect ass, make a mess of it, defile you until my cum drips out of your hole."
"Steve, fu-"
"Wanna decorate your ass with it, smear it into your skin and lick it clean until I'm hard again so I can fuck you once more, add another load of icing to your delicious tart baby."
With a broken cry, he comes, shuddering as he writhes on Steve's fingers, his own cum puddling on the mattress.

The lack of sleep must be kicking in, which always makes him feel a little drunk and giddy. "There's this really annoying pipe in my room that's slowly driving me crazy, and I really, really, really need to get some sleep, man. I might even start crying if I don't get some soon. Summertime Love â Steddie Flashfic - PG
A/N: Didnât get a chance to participate in July, so made sure I did in August. Thanks to @steddiemicrofic for the lovely prompt and challenge.
Written for prompt: CAKE | 311 words | rated: PG | cw: none
Steve was not usually one for sun cream. He used it occasionally if the sun was really strong, but that was it. This summer, however, was different. He had to cake the stuff on as provided by his doctor if he took his shirt off. It was driving him crazy.
It was the bat-bite and road-rash scars that were the problem. They were still pink and sensitive. He had very strict instructions not to let the sun get at them. That mostly meant a summer of full-length shirts with only his arms showing, but he had promised the kids a pool party now Vecna was finally done and gone.
Apparently sitting in the shade and not participating was not allowed.
There was only one advantage to the whole situation. Eddie was in the same predicament he was, and while Robin had sat him down and insisted on making sure his scars were properly covered in prescribed goo, Eddie had no Robin. Steve had swooped in and offered before anyone else could. Hence, he got to get his hands on Eddie and indulge in a few mental fantasies while he was at it.
âYou missed your calling, Stevie,â Eddie mumbled into a towel as Steve also rubbed sun cream into his back. âIâd pay good money for this.â
Feeling bold, Steve leaned in closer.
âYou donât have to pay me, Eds,â he whispered, voice low and sexy. âYou just have to ask.â
Eddie froze for a second before twisting to look at him with a hard stare.
âWhat?â was the pointed, but ambiguous question.
âIâve seen you looking,â Steve said. âIâve been looking back.â
âAre you trying to seduce me with sun cream?â Eddie asked after a moment of complete silence.
âWell, it is very slippery,â Steve replied, âbut I can think of slick things that smell better.â
Eddie gaped at him.

holiday masterlist!đ
----------
âSteve, weâre going to be late.â You told Steve as he hovered over you on your bed, lips attached to your neck.Â
âFive more minutes.â He told you, kissing your lips hungrily. Your lips moved in sync, and you gave in once more, letting your hands get lost in his gorgeous hair.
Nancy was throwing a Christmas party, and Robin wanted you there early to help her with her appearance in case Vickie showed. No one knew that you and Steve were together, well, hooking up, since Steve hasnât asked you out on an official date and still likes to flirt with girls when he thinks you arenât paying attention, which makes you insanely jealous.Â
You kept telling yourself to stop this thing with Steve. It could ruin your friendship and your friend group, which you couldnât have. Yet, every time you see that charming smile and taste those insanely delicious lips, you were pulled back in and made to forget about all of your reasons for ending things; like right now.Â
âWe really need to go. Robin is going to kill me.â You said, finally breaking away from Steveâs lips and escaping from under him.
âFine,â He whined, getting up and putting his Christmas sweater back on.Â
The drive to Nancyâs was filled with singing Christmas songs and Steveâs hand rubbing the inside of your thigh, driving you crazy. âSilent Nightâ came on, you singing as loud as you could to annoy Steve. He eventually turned down the radio, looking over at you.Â
âYou know I hate this song.â He stated.
âI know.â You replied, smiling.Â
âBut Iâm okay with making it a not-so-silent night when we get back to my house tonight,â Steve said, winking.Â
âWow, so smooth Harrington.â You said, laughing.Â
âThereâs more where that came from.â Steve bragged.Â
âOh, really? Hit me with another, then.â
âOkay, challenge accepted Y/L/N.â Steve started saying while moving his hand higher up your thigh. âWhy sit on Santaâs lap when you can sit on mine.â This one made you laugh, yet also extremely turned on by his hand placement.Â
âThat was a good one.â You told him as you pulled into Nancyâs driveway, Steve winking at you once more.Â
â
After you were somehow able to convince Robin she looked amazing and Vickie would love her sweater and jeans, you escaped into the kitchen to grab some wine. The house was already filling up, tons of people you had never seen before surrounding you. Luckily, you and Steve werenât on babysitting duty tonight since you made sure the kids stayed at the Byerâs house for the night.Â
Steve made his way into the kitchen, smiling when he saw you standing by the counter, sipping on wine and having a cookie. He loved the loose red silk tank top you had on, paired with torn jeans and heeled white boots. You wore the necklace and earrings he had gotten you for your birthday, too.Â
âWhat has you all smiley?â You questioned.Â
âYou,â Steve responded, pulling you in by the waist and kissing you deeply.Â
âHow sweet of you.â You said, smiling. âIs Vickie here?â
âShe just got here, thatâs why I shoved Robin into her so sheâd be forced to actually talk to her and came in here for a beer,â Steve said, laughing evilly.Â
âYou are horrible! But thatâs also a genius plan.â You credited.Â
âAre you fine in here while I go find Eddie?â Steve questioned.
âAre you actually going to find Eddie for guy time? Thatâs a new one.â
âWell I only spend time with you, and I think itâs getting suspicious so I might as well hang out with him,â Steve said, taking a sip of his Coors Light.Â
âOh.â Was all you said. All you got from Steveâs statement was that you and him would never be something serious, or something even worth telling your friends about.Â
âNot that I donât love spending time with you!â Steve exclaimed, grabbing your hand.Â
âI get it, Steve. Go have fun.â You told him, reaching away from him and heading into the dining room where you spotted Nancy, deciding to talk with her instead, trying not to be mad about something that clearly didnât matter to Steve.
â
After Jonathan stole Nancy away from you to dance, you made your way to the living room to see how Robinâs progress with Vickie was going. Instead of spotting Robin right away, you found Steve leaning against the wall next to the Christmas tree, a blonde girl under his arm. One small push and their bodies would be completely pressed together. Steve had his famous smile on his face and brushing his hair back with his hand like he always did so well.Â
The anger and jealousy ate you alive in that moment, wanting to slap Steve across the face for hurting you and also scream at him that you were falling in love with him. You ran upstairs, straight to the guest bathroom, locking the door behind you. Little did you know, Steve saw you out of the corner of his eye. He immediately removed his arm from the girl, sending her backward a step, and him running up the stairs after you.Â
âY/N?â Steve questioned, knocking on the bathroom door. You froze, looking at yourself in the mirror and quickly wiping away the tears on your face.Â
âWhat?â You shouted from inside the bathroom, not wanting to open the door.Â
âAre you okay? I saw you run up the stairs and just wanted to check on you. There will be no sad faces on Christmas! I can tell through the door that youâre wearing a sad face.â So he didnât see you when you realized he didnât give a shit about you? Cool.
âIâm fine. Go back to the blonde whore.â You immediately regretted your words, Steve now knowing why you were in the bathroom crying.
âY/N, open the door.â
âNo.â
âBabygirl, open the door.â Steve pressed again.Â
Finally, you opened the door, Steve quickly stepping inside and closing the door behind him. He noticed your tear-stained cheeks and red eyes, his heart dropping at the sight. He got closer to you, but you backed away, not wanting him to touch you because you knew you would just melt into his touch and forget why you were mad. A sting went across Steve as you backed away from him; you never did that.Â
âY/Nââ You cut Steve off, not wanting to hear anything from him.
âI donât want to hear it, Steve. Am I just some joke to you? Some embarrassing secret that you donât even want our friends to know about? Because thatâs what it feels like. Like Iâm just a fucking embarrassment to you.â You said, tears forming in your eyes once more.Â
âYou are not an embarrassment, Y/N.â
âThen how come our friends canât know about us? How come you wonât ask me on a date? Why do you constantly flirt with everyone on the planet but still have the nerve to sneak into my window almost every night? And why do I keep letting you?!â You ranted, shouting the last part. Steve didnât know what to say to make you feel better or make you understand how he actually felt, but he knew how to show you.
âMeet me under the mistletoe,â Steve told you, rushing out of the bathroom, leaving you extremely confused.Â
You attempted to clean up your face and headed downstairs. Once you reached the bottom, you noticed Steve standing on the coffee table in the living room; mistletoe above him. Everyone was gathered around him, the blonde girl from earlier trying to get on the table with him. Steve told her to get lost, looking up when he saw you at the bottom of the stairs.Â
âY/N!â He called, making everyone look at you now. You slowly walked forward, feeling incredibly uncomfortable with all of the eyes on you. He hesitated before he spoke, then realizing it was time he stopped being an asshole and admitted the truth. âFuck it. A new year is about to start and I cannot go another year hiding this from you.âÂ
You walked closer to the table, Steve reaching out his hand to help you get on top of it. You climbed up, now facing Steve.Â
âIâm in love with Y/N Y/L/N!â He announced, looking at the crowd, making everyone start whispering. âI have been for years. Weâve been in a⊠relationship⊠for months and I told myself it would just be a fling, but who was I kidding? I fell hard and fast.âÂ
Steve turned back to you, putting one hand on your cheek, then the other rested on your jawline and neck. âI am so sorry for not having the balls to say that before. It was easier to act like this meant nothing than to admit that Iâm in love with you. I am so sorry for that and for making you cry. I will never do that again. I understand if you hate me, and want nothing to do with me, but I wasn't going another second without showing everyone how much you mean to me.âÂ
You had tears in your eyes again, but not from sadness. You couldnât believe Steve was doing this; that he actually did feel the same way about you. There was nothing you could say to top that, so you looked up at the mistletoe, then at Steve. He read your mind, pulling your body to his, pressing your lips together. They moved in sync, then breaking away after a few seconds.Â
âYou are so cheesy.â You told him, lips still dangerously close to his.Â
âWell, the only thing I want for Christmas is you,â Steve said, making you smile even more. As you were going in for another kiss, Robinâs voice filled the room.
âI KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT! Didnât I tell you Nance? I told you they were hooking up!â Robin started shouting and jumping up and down, pointing at you and Steve. You looked at Steve, you both rolling your eyes and getting down from the table. The party went back in full swing, the short-attention-span teenagers going back to their own lives and drinks.Â
âAnd how exactly did you know?â Steve questioned, putting air quotes around âknow.â
âY/N had a hickey at work one day, and she didnât come in with it, so that meant you gave it to her while I was on break.â You looked at her, making a face that said: that doesnât mean anything. âOh, and her underwear was in your room one day,â Robin added, making you cough.Â
âHow do you know it was mine?â You asked.Â
âIt was that red pair you bought when we were at the mall. I remember because I thought they were nice and I wondered what Vickie would look like in them, andââ
âOkay!â Steve shouted, cutting off before she embarrassed herself even more in front of Vickie, who was giggling. âNow I know way too much about your fantasies and now know I need to start locking my bedroom door,â Steve added.Â
âAgreed.â You said.
âWell this has been fun, but if you excuse us, weâre going to go make out in my car,â Steve said, grabbing your hand. You raised your brows at him, laughing. âWhat? I donât have to keep this a secret anymore! Freedom!â Steve shouted, picking you up and throwing you over his shoulder.Â
Steve carried you like that all the way to his car, in which he placed you in the backseat and squeezed in next to you. He wrapped his arms around your waist, placing you onto his lap, smiling, thinking about his joke earlier in the day.Â
âDid you really mean all of that? Youâre in love with me?â You questioned, your hands running through the hair on the back of his head.Â
âEvery single word,â Steve confirmed, running his hands up and down on your sides on your bare skin.Â
âI think Iâve been in love with you since you complimented my blue bow in sixth grade,â You admitted, laughing.Â
âYouâre forgetting the part about you sitting in front of me all year and I would purposely pull your hair so you would turn around and I could look at you. I even wrote you a letter for Christmas that year.âÂ
âNo you did not! Steve Harrington wrote me a letter? What did it say?â You questioned, extremely giddy, pulling yourself closer to Steve.Â
âJust that I thought you were super sweet and cute and I wanted to take you to that arcade we both liked and go for ice cream. Then I ripped it up and threw it away because I thought there was no way Y/N Y/L/N liked me back.â Steve explained, shaking his head.
âWell, she did. A lot.â You told him, kissing him. âAnd I wouldâve loved to go to that arcade and get ice cream.â
âTomorrow then? You, me, arcade, and ice cream?â Steve asked, smiling.
âIâll have to check my schedule, I think Iâm busy.â You teased, giggling.
âOh, really?â Steve held onto you, quickly laying you down on the backseat, him hovering over you. His lips found yours right away, moving perfectly together.Â
âActually, I think Iâm free.â You said, breaking away and smiling.Â
âMhm, thatâs what I thought. Now, can we please go home? Youâre the reason Iâm on the naughty list this year and Iâd like to capitalize on that.â Steve said, making you smile and roll your eyes.
âYes, because Iâll be content if youâre the one stuffing my stocking.â You said, making Steve laugh deeply.Â
âThatâs my girl.âÂ

As time goes by | Chapter 10: Beware of the demo-dog
Pairing: Eddie Munson x fem!reader
Word Count: 4.8k
Masterlist | Previous Chapter | Next chapter | AO3
Chapter Summary: As if dealing with Eddie kissing another girl wasnât challenging enough, you are dragged into the craziness of dealing with the upside down.
Note: Donât mind me; this is just me putting season 2 into the story while I continue working on the chapter with more of how the outcome of the Halloween party impacted Eddie and readerâs relationship
You stumble out of your house, still feeling groggy. Your head pounded with a fierce headache, and your stomach churned with nausea due to hungover and the lack of sleep after crying the whole night about Eddie kissing another girl.
Eddie is waiting for you at his van in his denim jacket, his worn-out jeans, a bandana on his neck, and a shy smile on his face, trying to hide the fact that he is as hungover as you are, not looking into your eyes as he opens the door for you.Â
His hand shakes slightly when he lights up a cigarette, resting his arm on his open window, your eyes meeting and then quickly darting away while he drives. The silence between you grows increasingly awkward.
You think of easing the mood by mocking his ridiculous bandana fashion sense that morning, but when you look at it more closely, you see it. Eddie has hickeys on his neck and tried to hide them with the bandana. Love bites and sucks so intense that left bruises on his neck - just thinking about it makes you wanna throw up.Â
As Eddie pulls into the school parking lot, he asks, "Can we please talk?"
"Sure," you sigh deeply.
Your eyes meet, a sense of longing and hesitation in the air. You both want to say something, to break the silence, but the words just don't come, and you fall into a heavy silence again, making you climb out of the van.Â
"Look, I know things got a bit out of hand yesterday." he follows you.
"A bit?" You counter, raising your eyebrows.Â
"If you just let me explainâŠ"
"The same way you let me explain yesterday, Eddie?" your voice shaking.
His face twists. "Don't. I know what I saw."
"Fuck hell no, you don't." The fact Eddie jumped to conclusions without hearing your side of the story and that he is still not giving you a fair chance to defend yourself hurts.
"I haven't started it, don't act like I'm guilty of anything here."
The pace of your breathing increases - while a part of you would like to communicate calmly to resolve the situation, the other part is fueled by anger and wins.
"No, guilty is not the right word here" you step forward and pull the bandana out of his neck, exposing his hickeys. "What's the boy word for slut?"
He opens his mouth - but before he can say anything, he is interrupted by a girl who throws her arms around him. "Hey baby, I missed you," she says before kissing him on the lips.Â
Samantha Stone. You didn't recognize her at the party, but clearly, she was the girl who kissed him yesterday and is again doing it right before you.Â
"Screw this," you leave, pressing your lips, staring at the floor, hoping this will conceal the emotions starting to boil up inside you.Â
When faced with a problem, your first instinct is to flee rather than confront it head-on, and your situation with Eddie is no exception, with the sense of unease and anxiety overpowering you. The classes seem to drag on longer than any other day, and lunchtime is even worse. Samantha is sitting next to Eddie at his table while you wait alone on yours as neither Nancy nor Jonathan has shown up yet. You can't stop yourself from occasionally peeking through the screen of your hair at their table.Â
"Why are you pouting?" Steve asks while sitting right in front of you. "OhâŠ" he exclaims when noticing what you are looking at.Â
"How are you, Steve?"
"Awful. Do you believe that Nancy didn't even remember what she said to me yesterday? I gave her one more chance to tell me if she loved me, and guess what⊠she couldn't say the words."
"I'm so sorry⊠We are having a hell of a morning, huh?"
"I'm always nothing but nice to people... So why is it that I keep getting screwed over?"
"Welcome to the club," you shrug. Steve used to be a douchebag, but you have seen him changing recently, and no one deserves to go through heartbreak.Â
"So it wasn't just a one-time thing then." he discreetly points to Eddie and Samantha - she is now holding his arm and twirling her hair while he chats with the boys.Â
"I didn't want anyone else to have him⊠but what I want is irrelevant now."Â
"Well, you are just one broken heart closer to your happily ever after." Steve tries to cheer you up with no success.Â
It's not only a matter of what you feel about Eddie - It's what you don't feel for anybody else. You are not ready to deal with this, so you ditch your last classes and don't show up in school the next day, afraid of seeing Samantha with Eddie again. You know avoiding problems will only make them worse in the long run, but the fear of conflict and the unknown outcome of confronting Eddie is so overwhelming that you cannot bring yourself to face it. It's Friday, so maybe Hellfire will make things normal again.
When you get to his trailer to prepare dinner as you usually do, you notice that he is not home. You nervously cook anyway, aware that Wayne looks at you occasionally while he reads the newspaper.Â
"You know I'm here for you, right?" Wayne asks, concern written on his face.
"It's all good, uncle Wayne."
"I don't want to be nosy, but I think things were better between you and Eddie when you told each other everything."
You keep silent - how could you explain to him that things were not that easy?Â
"The secrets are not mine to tell⊠but I think you two need to talk." he insists.
You wait for Eddie to have dinner, and when he opens the door, you open a smile just for it to die on your lips a few seconds later - Samantha enters the trailer right after him.Â
"Sorry, I know I'm late⊠Sam insisted she wanted to go to Hellfire today."
"Eddie loves this game so much; I want to learn it. I'm glad I won't be the only girl there; Eddie talks all the time about how you are the best player he has ever met." she turns to you, smiling while pulling herself closer to him. No way you will talk with Eddie, not with her there.Â
You all start to eat, and Samantha tries to keep the conversation going, giggling at anything Eddie says and touching him at every opportunity.Â
You wonder if it is too selfish to crave Eddie like he was yours to miss. You catch him looking at you a few times, but you do your best to pretend you didn't see and that all is ok - but the girl sitting quietly in her chair with a neutral expression is actually screaming very loudly in her head.Â
"I'll get some things in my bedroom, and we can go," Eddie says while standing up, Samantha following him.Â
When they are out of view, you let out a sound that is something like a short, quiet scream while running a hand over your face.Â
"You need to communicate your needs, kiddo, not only think about them." Wayne insists again.Â
It's not fair. You don't have to torture yourself like this. You begin to gather your things, trying to block the feelings filling you up for fear that your eyes will tear up. You leave the trailer and hear Eddie calling your name when you are almost at your door. You breathe deeply before turning to face him.Â
"Why are you leaving me?"
"I'm not going to Hellfire today, Eddie. I'm not feeling well. I think I'm sick." you lie.Â
"I can stay and take care of you."
"That's nonsense. Go, the boys are waiting for you." you pause while frustration, jealousy, and anger fuel your words: "Your Samantha is waiting for you."Â
Eddie takes your hand and looks into your eyes, "Sweetheart, I need to know what's wrong."
And he sounds so sincere. But you wonder what he would do if you said that everything wrong had to do with him.Â
"Nothing, Eds. I'm just giving you space so you can enjoy your time with Samantha."
"Sweetheart, that'sâŠ"
"That's ok, Eddie." you interrupt him. "I understand. More than that, I'm glad you found someone you like and who likes you back. I'm happy for you. I really am." - there you are again, lying through your teeth.
"You're⊠H-happy?" he stutters, letting go of your hand.Â
Your stomach is in knots, and you can only force a smile and pretend you are happy for him when you want to scream inside. You just nod and turn again to enter your house before your tears betray you.Â
"You told him you were HAPPY for him? What the hell is wrong with you?" Max looks at you as if she would kill you if she could.Â
"What you wanted me to say, Max?"
"What you were really feeling, for a change!"
Shame takes over you, and the only sound in the room is you ripping the duct tape you used to help Max repair her broken skateboard.Â
"Listen⊠if you ever love someone someday⊠say it. Go for it. Don't be like me."
"As long as you are around to remind me how miserable a person can be if she is that stupid⊠I won't make that mistake."Â
You both chuckle, being interrupted by someone at the main door. Lucas begs Max to come with him, as he has proof to show her. However, you don't want to let Max go alone for something that may be dangerous, so you all bike your way out.Â
Upon arriving at the junkyard, Dustin and Steve are already there, and Steve briefs you about what's going on. You and Max are not totally convinced but agree to help with the plan anyway. You keep yourself busy helping transform the school bus into a shelter, creating the metal barricades in the windows and pouring gasoline from the pile of meat onto the school bus.Â
"Hey, dickheads! How come the only ones helping me out are the girls here?!" Steve scolds the boys.
"Wicked weapon," you say to Steve, pointing at his bat.Â
"Wanna one, too?" he smiles.
"That doesn't suit my character class" You see the puzzled look on his face, and remember that he doesn't play DnD, so he doesn't understand. "I'm not an attacker⊠I'm more of a protector."
"So, what do you use?"
You look around the junkyard and find a trash can lid. "As magic isn't an option⊠help me put some nails on this; it could be a nice shield."Â
You get to work and open a wide grin after getting it done. It doesn't look like much, but you are proud of your improvised shield.Â
"I'm just humoring you; you won't have to use it." Steve bumps your shoulder.Â
"Sure, my hero, Steve Harrington, will save us all."
"We both know your real hero is not me."Â
You shrug before explaining to him the thoughts that have been bouncing around your head during the last few days:
"I have realized that Eddie is just a guy, Steve. Don't get me wrong, he is the most special one for me, for sure⊠but he is not mine. And I don't need to do things to make him love me because if he wanted to, he would. So as much as it hurts to admit⊠I have to let him go."
A small smile of understanding crosses Steve's face while he gives you a one-armed hug. "Let's go to the bus; it's getting dark soon."Â Â
"I've got eyes! 10 o'clock!!" you hear Lucas warning you.
"There!" Steve points to Dart approaching the junkyard.Â
"He's not taking the bait. Why is he not taking the bait?" you bite your nails.
"Maybe he's not hungry?" Dustin replies.
"Maybe he's sick of cow," Steve adds, and you see him back away with a calculated look, heading toward the door. He picks up his spiked bat and holds up his lighter.
"Just get ready," he says, tossing the lighter to you.
"Steve, don't," you try to say, but he has already stepped off the bus, swinging his bat while he walks through the junkyard, whistling to get Dart's attention. Max comes down to where you and Dustin are.
"What's he doing?" she exclaims.
"Expanding the menu," Dustin replies.Â
Dart comes into view, opening his petal mouth covered in teeth. An involuntary shiver makes you tense, but Steve continues holding his ground. Â
"Steve, watch out! 3 o'clock! 3 o'clock!" Lucas yells, desperate.Â
"Shit," you gasp. More creatures are approaching, and they are flanking Steve. "I'll get him back," you tell the kids, picking your shield. Dustin opens the bus door for you.Â
"Steve, Abort!" Dustin yells.Â
One of the creatures dives on Steve, but he ducks right on time, and it goes inside a car. He hit the other one with his bat at the same time that there's another one jumping on him, but you get in front of it, blocking the attack with your shield,Â
You grab Steve's arm and run back to the bus. Inside, Steve holds the door with his feet to stop the creature from entering, and you cover the holes done by the creature's claws. Then, following Max's gaze, you notice a creature in the ceiling. "They need you," you say, switching places with Steve.Â
Chaos ensues, with Max screaming when the creature gets into view. Steve protectively puts himself in front of the kids, and when you fear that all may be lost, they flee. You all exchange confused looks, wondering why the creatures left.
Cautiously you and Steve guarantee that the creatures are not around anymore, and decide to take the kids back, walking along the train tracks, until you hear a noise. You approach it with Steve and see you are at Hawkins National Lab gates, finding Nancy and Jonathan also there.
"What are you doing here?" All 4 of you are asking at the same time.Â
Quick updates flow in the conversation until the gate finally opens. Jonathan and Nancy hurry to the lab while you convince the kids to wait there with you and Steve.Â
"You didn't have to rescue me," Steve says, nudging your shoulder.
"I know⊠but I couldn't risk losing you."
"Thanks. It's nice to know I'm not alone."
"Alone? What about us?" Dustin says, offended, making you all laugh.Â
The laugh is short-lived as soon you hear the cars approaching fast, the Byers car speeding off and Hopper stopping to open his SUV, so you can all enter. Hopper updates you on all that has happened, making you realize that the horror is bigger than you first imagined.Â
Back at Byers' house, everything happened so fast. From Dustin explaining his mind flayer analogy, to all the preparations to interrogate Will, to the message in morse code, to the ill-fated phone call that put all of you at risk with the demo-dogs coming, to El saving you and the plan of closing the gate and taking the mind flayer out of Will's body taking shape.
You are at the back door when you see Nancy and Steve talking, Steve insisting that she should go with Jonathan while they share a knowing, emotional look. Steve is letting Nancy go - in more ways than one.
"Pretty brave what you did there," you congratulate Steve as he approaches you.Â
"Well, I learned from a wise person⊠that no matter how special I think Nancy isâŠI have to let her go."
"We're a pretty messed-up pair, aren't we?" you chuckle.
"Tell me about it ⊠At least we have each other," he said, clearly comforted by the thought.
You helplessly watch the others drive away while you and Steve stay with the kids. Later, you, Lucas, and Max are sweeping the broken glass in the living room while Mike paces back and forth, on edge, worried about El having to face the demo-dogs at the lab while you all stay there, doing nothing. Then, a heated discussion between him and Steve starts.Â
"If we get their attention, we can drive them away from the lab and clear a path to the gate," Mike exclaims.Â
"Yeah, and then we all die." Steve completes.Â
The kids ignore him, continuing to detail the plan of getting to the entrance of the tunnels, finding the hub, and setting it on fire, allowing El to close the gates without worries.Â
"Guys!! HEY!!" Steve's hands raised in disbelief. Steve is in "dad" mode, and he's not happy. He points to the kids angrily. "This is NOT happening."
They start to argue all at the same time. You don't want to contradict Steve in front of the kids, so you stay quiet, but you think they have a good plan.Â
"I promised I'd keep you shitheads safe, and that's exactly what I plan on doing. We are going to wait here. Does everybody understand?" No one says a thing. "C'mon, I need a yes."
Before anyone gets a chance to give Steve his "yes" there is a growl outside, not from a demo-dog, but from a car engine.
Max races to the living room and open the curtain. She spins back and locks eyes with Lucas, panicked. "It's my brother. He can't know I'm here - he'll kill me, he'll kill us."Â
"Oh shit," you gasp.Â
Steve's eyes go to each of you, realizing the situation. "I'll handle this."Â
Smoking, Billy climbs out of his car. As he looks towards the porch, the corners of his mouth curl into a smile. "Am I dreaming, or is that you, Harrington?"Â
"Yeah, it's me, don't cream your pants." Steve counters while Billy strips off his jacket.Â
You decide to look for Steve bat. "Stay hidden!" you tell the kids.
When Dustin says, "Shit! Did he see us?" you hurry back to the living room. You take a quick look and see Billy shoving Steve to the ground, kicking him in the gut.Â
"We have to get out, NOW!" - But the front door opens, and Billy bursts inside. You stand in front of the kids protectively.Â
"Well, well," Billy slams the door behind him, "You are here, honey. What a surprise."
Billy starts to move toward you and the kids, his eyes locking on Max. "You disobeyed me. And you know what happens when you disobey me. I break things."
Billy suddenly grabs you by your arms, slamming you into a kitchen shelf. You feel a sting in your head, pots and plates scatter, and you hear the kids screaming.
"Get off of me," you growl.
But Billy doesn't get off. He leans in. "Since Maxine won't listen to me, maybe you will. Keep them away from her. You hear me?" he hard-pressed your arms. Â
You then meet Max's eyes. It isn't just fear swimming in them - it's terror. She has already seen and suffered too much today.Â
"I said get off me!" you kick him in the balls, leaving him stunned.Â
"You'll regret doing it, honey!" He headbutts you.
Dark spots start to cover your vision, you feel woozy, your eyes flutter, and your consciousness starts to fade, but you still see Steve saying, "No, you will.", grabbing Billy and punching him hard in the face.
A pounding sound and the kids shouting wake you back up. You shake your head, trying to focus, and see that Billy straddled Steve, repeatedly throwing one punch after another. You've seen your father like this before; you know it's a frenzy hard to stop. "He's going to kill him," you think. You put yourself between them, curling your body over Steve to protect his head. Rage is blinding Billy, so he doesn't notice - his punches are now hitting your back while you pray you don't end up with a broken rib.
Just as things get unbearable, it stops. You turn to see a needle in Billy's neck, with Max staring at him. He falls back onto the floor, and Max picks up the spiked bat and stands over her brother with fire in her eyes.Â
"From here on out, you leave my friends and me alone. Do you understand?"
The bat goes down, with its nails digging into the wood floor, right between his legs. Max raises it again.Â
"Say you understand! Say it!!"Â
"I understand," Billy says before dozing off.Â
Max exhales, shaken. She tosses the bat aside, kneeling to pick Billy's keychain from his pocket.Â
"Let's get out of here," she says.Â
"Wait a minute, guys," you try to calm them down.Â
"No way, we are heading out!" Mike bursts.
"Let's be smart, ok? We're getting into dangerous shit here; we can't go in blindly."
Thankfully the kids understand your point, and you start to assign tasks - Max will prepare the car so she can drive, while Mike and Lucas will get protective gear and fuel to put fire into the tunnels. You ask Dustin to help you nurse Steve. You can't find the first aid kit, only some band-aids, so you clean Steve the best you can, Dustin putting band-aids in him. He then helps you take Steve to the car.
"He's not coming!" Mike protests, "He'll freak out; we can't bring him."
"He won't, Mike. He'll be cool, I promise." You beg him, "I can't do this without him. We all need him; you know that. Please."Â
Max may not be the best driver, but she's getting you to your destination. The cold sensation of the bag of ice you are holding on Steve's head doesn't bother you. His face is a little less swollen but still bruised, with dried blood under his nose.Â
He murmurs, "Nancy?" and you see him looking at Mike.Â
"Wrong Wheeler, dingus," You laugh.
His hand makes its way to his face, but you stop him. "No, don't touch it."Â
Steve realizes that Max is driving and begins to panic.
"Steve, they wanted to leave you behind; I promised you'd be cool, so please, calm down."
Max speeds up, and Steve is now in a full-mode panic. "Oh my god, no, no, stop the car."Â
"Max, that's not helping. Slow down," you ask. Soon everyone in the car is arguing.
"Everybody shut up. I'm trying to focus!" Max yells.Â
Some sharp turns and a sudden stop later, you arrive.Â
"I told you. Zoomer", Max says while turning off the car. You smile proudly at her.
You leave the car and start distributing the supplies from the trunk while everyone puts the plan in motion. You ensure everyone has goggles, a bandana, gloves, and a flashlight. You see Steve, still dazed, holding on to the car door. He tries to talk with you, but you ignore him. You know he will try to talk you out of the plan.Â
You call Dustin. "I'm taking the others down there; here is your kit and his. Do your magic."
Steve drops into the tunnels a few moments later, fully geared up. "You look badass." You compliment him.
"We'll have a conversation later, little lady," he whispers before addressing the whole party. "Ok, from now on, I'm leading the way! Come on, let's go!"
He takes the lead, and you high-five Dustin when he gets near you.
The fog is dense in the tunnels, with spores dancing in the air and strange vines everywhere. Finally, you arrive at the hub and spread gasoline around everything. Steve tosses his lighter into the chamber, and the hub goes up in flames. The way back is not easy, with stops to save Mike from the vines and Dustin helping you to sneak past Dart.
You then hear the growling from behind and start seeing the shadows. Demo-dogs are coming. You all race through the tunnels the fast as you can, finally seeing the rope that leads to safety. You and Steve start to help the kids, one at a time, escape the tunnel.
Then your eyes widen - you see the demo-dogs turning the corner across the tunnel, charging right into you and Steve. Time is running out. You see Steve raising his bat, ready to fight back, even though you cannot win. You hold your position and put your shield up, squeezing your eyes shut.Â
And Eddie comes to your mind. A thousand happy memories of you together flow through your mind. You hear his voice, feel his arms, and deep in your heart, you feel as if it was obvious the whole time that he loves you back; how could he not? It's probably a trick of your brain now that you face imminent death, but you don't care; you gladly accept it. "Eddie, I love you," you whisper, wishing the words could reach him somehow, but you know it's too late.   Â
But the demo-dogs are passing right through you and Steve. You open your eyes in awe. They run fast, making you lose your balance and almost fall, but Steve wraps his arms around you protectively. You don't know where they are going, but you couldn't care less now.
"We are alive. We are alive!"
You and Steve climb out, laughing hysterically. The kids share stunned looks, worried that you both went into shock. But you are just happy to have survived that.
"Will you be ok? Do you want me to stay with you?" you offer Steve as everyone leaves.
"I'm ok, I've survived worse⊠and I know you wanna go home to see him."Â
You wonder if you are so easy to read that Steve knew the persistent thought in your mind. After all you've gone through, you have to see Eddie at least once. He would help you ground back to the earth again.Â
You thank Steve when he leaves you at the trailer park, and you walk to Eddie's trailer. It's late, but you see his bedroom light on, so you knock on the door and wait. When he opens the door, you can see the surprised look on his face.
"Shit, sweetheart, you look awful. What happened?"Â
"Life," you reply with a shaken voice. You have yet to think about a cover story and know you can't explain what happened to him. You hope your appearance won't scare him off.Â
"You were gone⊠I was worried you had given up on me" he gives you a bear hug.Â
You close your eyes, inhaling his scent and letting the comfort of his hug penetrate your skin. After all that has happened, the feeling of having him in your arms again is unmatched.
"As much as I missed you, I have to say, sweetheart⊠you stink," he says, kissing the top of your head, making you giggle.
"Everything ok, baby?" you hear Samantha asking.
Ok, so the universe gave you one minute of absolute bliss before throwing reality back on you again. You let go of him and see when Eddie closes his eyes and murmurs to himself, "Shit."Â
You turn to leave, but he follows you, asking you to stop, grabbing your hand. "You came to see me tonight. Why?" he asks.Â
You struggle with your feelings, feeling overwhelmed and helpless simultaneously, paralyzing you. You want to tell him how much you already miss him. But that wouldn't be fair.Â
"It doesn't matter; it was a mistake." You take your hand out of his, giving him a teary smile, and hurry inside your house before you break down in front of him, repeating your bad behavior of avoiding difficult situations and doing anything to prevent conflicts from arising.Â
In your bedroom, you let yourself cry, feeling trapped in this cycle of fear and avoidance. You are desperately jealous of Samantha as she has everything you ever wanted, and you hate yourself for being such a coward, unable to fight for Eddie's love, even if it's a lost cause. What's wrong with you? Shouldn't the hero get her true love at the end of the story?Â
But that's ok. You helped to save the day, and the gate is now closed. This means that the horror is over, and Eddie is safe. He will never have to worry about creatures of the upside down. He may not be yours, but he is fine, and that's enough for now.Â
So you put on your headphones and press play on your walkman, hearing Eddie's voice singing to you. You pray that, as a reward for your services, after crying yourself to sleep, the heavens will give you a dream where you and Eddie are happy together.

Dec. 3rd: Not a 'Best Friends' Kind of Love
Day 3: Cuddling/Stuck waiting in line together
Here is day THREE of @comp-ladyâs December writing challenge! Iâm writing the kind of love that I want to see and I hope everyone else enjoys it too. All of the Eddie fics will take place in the same universe and the Steve fics will take place on their own. It goes without saying (hopefully) that the universes are separate but the fics will be a continuation of each other.Â
Warnings: Swearing Word Counts: 1.7k+ Words Pairings: Steve Harrington x Reader Authorâs Note: Instead of writing in the third person, this fit is written in the second person...I donât typically like writing in this kind of POV and if everyone finds it cringe, please tell me so I can make sure to never do it again
Every Friday, you and the rest of the gang met up at Steveâs house for a movie night. It was the only night that was off-limits for anyone to make outside plans. It was family time, if you will. You would prepare the snacks, Eddie would bring the drinks (beer for the older kids and two-liter sodas for the younger kids), Nancy and Jonathan would bring the pizza, Steve and Robin would bring the movies, and the kids would bring the entertainment.Â
âSteve,â you called, walking into Steveâs house.
âHey, honey,â Steve said, stepping from around the corner of the kitchen.
âI have an idea for tonightâs movie night, itâs kind of crazy but I think everyone will love it!â
âOkay, what is it?â Steve questioned as he walked forward you to wrap his arms around your frame.Â
âOkay so listen to this, I brought my parents' fire pit from our backyard and I also picked up some firewood. I thought it would be cool to have an outside, drive-in theater-esque, set-up tonight! So I also brought a king-sized top sheet and I borrowed a projector from the theater department at school,â You continued, rambling about the plan for the night. âI figured we could bring lots of blankets outside, air up your pool floats, and then watch the movies outside so we begin the holiday festivities! Itâs still warm for December so I thought-â
âHoney, slow down,â Steve said, stopping you mid-rant. âI think that sounds incredible. The party is going to love that. What do you need me to do to help set up?â
You spent the next few minutes explaining to Steve your vision and what you would need his help to accomplish. Two hours before the group was set to be at Steveâs, you sent him to air up the pool floats while setting up the projector and sheet yourself. Before long, everything was starting to look ready. The floats were set up in a semi-circle and a blanket was placed on each one.
âStevie, can you come with me to grab the firewood and fire pit?â
âOf course,â Steve responded following you around the side of his house to your car. Together, you grabbed the firewood and the pit and placed them at the center of the pool floats.Â
âWhere is everyone,â Yelled a voice from inside the house.
âOut here,â Steve called back.Â
âWoah, this is fucking sick,â Dustin said, walking out to the backyard. âI brought the pizza, Nancy and Jonathan will be late and I didnât want everyone to wait for them!â
âDusty! Iâll put your pizza in the oven to keep it warm!â You said, walking up to the younger boy and squeezing his shoulder in greeting. After you walked into the house to put the pizza in the oven, there was a knock on the door.Â
âHey, Eds,â You said, opening the front door and giving a side hug to your friend. âSteve and Dustin are outside. We are switching up the scenery for movie night tonight!â
âOh hell yeah,â Eddie said, following you to the kitchen to put the drinks in the refrigerator. âIs this your way of finally telling Steve how you feel?â
âI have no idea what youâre talking about,â You mumbled, rolling your eyes at Eddie.Â
âOh come on, Y/l/n,â Eddie sighed. âHe feels the same way, you guys just keep running in circles. What do you have to lose?â
âOh I donât know, Munson,â You said. âMaybe my best friend?âÂ
âI promise you wonât, if you donât say anything youâre always going to wonder what would have been,â Eddie responded as the doorbell rang.
âExcuse me,â You said, pushing past Eddie and dismissing the conversation. âI have to get that.â
After Robin arrived, Nancy and the rest of the party soon followed. The group got situated outside with drinks, snacks, and slices of pizza while Steve pressed play on the movie. As you sat wrapped up in a king-sized blanket on top of a two-person float, Steve came over to sit next to you.
âWhat are you doing?â You asked, looking up at Steve, wide-eyed.
âUm, sitting next to my best friend,â Steve said, chuckling. As he sat down next to you, pulling the blanket back across your bodies, he noticed your unusually stiff posture. âWhat is going on, honey?â
âWhat? Nothing,â You said, looking back up at the movie. Robin brought over Black Christmas because she was not over Halloween but also wanted to get into the Christmas spirit.
âBullshit, youâve been avoiding me since we got everything set up,â Steve said, turning his body so he could look at you in the eye. âI canât fix whatever I did if you donât tell me whatâs bothering you."
âYou didnât do anything, Steve,â You said, bringing your hands up to rub your eyes. âEddie said something earlier and Iâm struggling to wrap my head around it.â
âDo I need to beat him up? I will, if he upset you,â Steve said, turning to eye his friend sitting three floats down.
âAbsolutely not, youâve never won a fight in your life, Iâd hate to spend movie night attending to your wounds,â You said, grabbing Steveâs shoulders to turn him back towards you. âIâm sorry, Iâm acting weird. Give me two minutes to shake it off and then Iâll be fine.â
âIâm hurt that you donât think I could win a fight for your honor, youâre probably the only reason I could find the strength to win. But Iâm right here if you need me, you know that right?â Steve said, when you nodded in agreeance he turned his attention back to the movie but not before squeezing your shoulders in comfort.
You had been in love with Steve for years. Been best friends for two and maybe Eddie had a point. Steve stopped talking to you about girls and his nights have been free for the last few months as heâs been spending his free time with you. Okay, you could begin to wonder if Eddie was right...You would always wonder what could have been.
âActually, Stevie,â You said, causing the brown eyes youâve fallen for to look down at you. âThere is something thatâs been bothering me and Iâm scared to talk about it and Iâm scared about what you might say.â
âOh honey,â Steve said, pulling you into his chest as he pressed a kiss to your head. âPlease talk to me, thereâs nothing that you could say that would make me think of you differently, absolutely nothing.â
âOkay,â You said, releasing a breath and closing your eyes to gain the courage. âI love you and not in a âwe are best friends and I love you bestie kind of way.â I love you in a way that makes my heart explode when you smile. I love you in a way that causes me to physically feel ill when youâre having a rough day or something says something to hurt you. I love you in a way that I will be okay with watching you fall in love with someone else if simply being your friend is what you want from me.â
You opened your eyes as soon as you finished speaking to silence around you. Midway through your speech, Robin had gotten up to stop the movie and everyone stopped talking to watch what they had been waiting for to unfold. Before you could feel embarrassed, Eddie stood up and started clapping.Â
âY/l/n, Iâm so proud of you, I wasnât sure you had it in you,â Eddie said laughing, his clapping picking up as everyone else started to join in too. Whooping and hollering.Â
âOh honey,â Steve repeated. âI thought I was being so obvious in how I felt about you!â
âNo dingus,â Robin shouted across the yard. âWe all told you that you two are too dense to just see the signs.â
âShut up, Robs,â Steve grumbled, turning his body back to face you. âI love you in not a âwe are best friends and I love you bestieâ way too. God, Iâve loved you for a long time, honey.âÂ
âYou do?â You questioned as you leaned up to look at the boy talking to you.
âYeah, I do,â Steve said as he started laughing. âI tried so hard to make you notice me by talking to those girls in Family Video and when that didnât work, I tried to show you by spending all my time with you.â
âSteven Harrington, trying to get my attention by talking to other beautiful women is not going to work. In fact, itâs going to piss me off.
âNoted, baby,â Steve said, pulling you back into him. âCan you guys start the movie again? The showâs over.â
âYeah, yeah, please donât be gross now guys,â Dustin said as he got up to restart the movie.
âNo promises,â Steve said, looking at you as he leaned down to kiss you. As your lips met, you could not help but groan, pulling Steve closer. The moment that you have been craving and dreaming about for years was finally happening. Steve, also feeling the pent-up tension, moved his hands to your face, angling you up to deepen the kiss. As he broke the kiss to take a breath, Steve grumbled, âPlease stay over tonight.â
âOkay,â You said, looking up into his eyes before molding your body into his. For the first time, you felt comfortable cuddling him the way you always wanted. As you curled you curled into him, Steve pulled you even closer.Â
âI think this is my new favorite spot,â Steve grumbled into your neck.
âI think itâs mine too.â

Night Changes
For @aroseinvelaris, kind of based on Night Changes by One Direction like you wanted? I donât really know what happened.
Gareth x gn!reader
You were eight when your family moved in next door. Gareth could remember the day clearly, he had wanted to go play with his friends but his mother insisted they welcome you to the neighborhood. It was just you and your dad, and he seemed like a nice enough guy. His brother was the sheriff or something, Gareth was too young to pay much attention to the conversation. You had taken one look at him and he knew you were going to get him in trouble. By the end of the night he was right, watching you sprint ahead of him as the moonlight shone on your hair, the two of you should have been home already but he kept following you.
He didnât even regret when he was grounded. Your bedroom windows faced each other, so you challenge him to hangman sessions over the days you were essentially captives.
Gareth had asked, once, why you went running through the streets and trees when you knew the two of you were supposed to be home. But you had just smiled, âI was headin' for somethin' that I won't forget. Weâre gettinâ older. I just donât want regrets.â
Eight years later, and you never let Gareth stray too far in your friendship, not that he ever tried. Since that first night the two of you were practically inseparable, his mom would joke with your dad that youâd get married one day- and every time his face would screw up in disgust, you would just laugh.
When he found Hellfire, you were right there with him at every session. Not participating, but Eddie allowed you in all the same because he enjoyed your chaotic commentary. Some days he would adjust the campaign on the fly because of a comment you made, and Gareth would groan, but at the end of the night the two of you would always go for a drive and would ask him the most insane philosophical questions like he was the smartest person you knew.
âDoes it ever drive you crazy?â
âDoes what?â Gareth laughed, âHow easily you influence our already sadistic dungeon master?â
You snorted, shoving his shoulder softly so you didnât jerk the wheel in his hands, âHow fast the night changes.â
âWhat does that even mean?â Gareth was used to you, you asked that question a lot and it never really made sense.
âJust imagine,â you began, and he knew what was coming next, âeverything youâve ever dreamed of disappearing when you woke up. Doesnât that feel terrifying?â
Gareth hummed, but he knew what you needed to hear, âThereâs nothing to be afraid of.â
âCâmon, Gare-â
âNo, Iâm serious!â He laughed, glancing at you with a smile, âEven when the night changes, itâll never change you and me.â
You felt your heart thump in your chest at the newly discovered softness in his eyes before he turned back to the road, driving way too fast as the moonlight shone on you again.
You didnât even notice you were already falling as he lit a cigarette.
Another year went by, Gareth wasnât as in the dark as the rest of the party expected him to be from the events of â86. You had been there with Eddie, when Chrissy died. When Jason showed up, Gareth tracked you both down before Henderson could even start. He refused to let you leave him behind, even when you tried. He knew you too well for you to hide from him, so he was there when you boarded the boat to the gate in Lovers Lake.
When all was said and done, the two Of dragged Eddie back through the gate. All three of you were broken and beaten, but Eddie was still alive. Steve was in the worst condition, but he still somehow maintained the strength to lift Eddie and get him into the van, none of the older kids really having much strength left as one of the kids- you think it was Dustin- managed to get everyone to the hospital. Gareth showed up to your room some time that night, and the two of you sat in silence for too long before you finally asked, âDoes it drive you crazy yet?â
Gareth looked up where he sat by your bedside with your hand in his, seeing the tears burning in your eyes as you gave him a timid smile, âHow fast the night changes?â He pursed his lips as you nodded, but then he shook his head, âWeâre only getting older, baby. But weâre still you and me. As long as youâre still here in the morning, my dreams wonât disappear.â
You stared at him for a long moment, the adrenaline having long since dissipated, but was that what this was? A near death experience love confession? âYou promise?â
Gareth lowered himself to your hand held in his, he was going to lift it when you had freshly broken ribs, and he brushed his lips against the skin that still sat caked in dirt, âThe night can never change me and you.â
Breaking into the smallest of smiles, âSeems like it mightâve. This time.â
âNo,â Gareth smirked back, âThis is who we were, we just werenât old enough to see it.â
After graduation, and the government cover up, Corroded Coffin had finally made a name for themselves. You stayed in Hawkins, with Steve, and Robin, and Nancy, watching the kids youâd grown to care so much about leave for college. Even Max- you made sure to threaten those agents into âscholarshipsâ to make sure she could make a new start without touching the hush money theyâd already been paid until she got a degree. Eddie and Steve had finally made a move- they were never clear on who did it. You put money on Eddie, while Gareth always bet on Steve. Every break in the bandâs schedule brought them right back to Hawkins, no matter how many interviewers questioned why they didnât taken up residence in somewhere like LA. Your dad had left when the town collapsed, but you refused, even with your uncle having moved to California. They deserved to move on, but you were still here. You werenât ready for the night to change again. Steve and Robin and Nancy, they werenât either. Nancy traveled for work, being a world renowned journalist, but she always came back to Robin. Came back to stand guard with the rest of you.
And when Corroded Coffin was there, Gareth would join you. No matter how small the threat, he was ready to drop anything at a momentâs notice so that you werenât fighting alone.
Because even when the night changed, it didnât change the two of you.
Inseparable. As you always had been.

Hi hello this former stage manager is actually begging you to write the playwright/producer AU thank you so much
omg hiiii fellow theatre person!! i desperately want to write this fic, i think iâm gonna start it after i finish my winter exchange fic!!
as a treat, hereâs a little bit of detail about the idea thatâs sitting in my head at the moment!!
Eddie definitely started out by writing things that were reminiscent of his campaigns (i.e. fantasy settings) and slowly shifted to writing a hit more realism. His plays border the line between fantasy and realism, coming out as some sort of speculative work that drives tech people crazy (in a good way and a bad way) with how many special effects heâs written into the script. Itâs a lot of work, but most creative teams embrace the challenge and they make his shows extra exciting!
Edie definitely prefers writing musicals, but heâs written a couple of plays as well, though those arenât as popular as his musicals.
Steve wasnât originally into theatre at all, but he met Robin while they were working the same minimum wage job when they were in college and she ended up introducing him to it! (Robin invites him to the show sheâs currently music directing!)
He secretly takes some theatre management classes in addition to his business classes. He pays for the theatre classes himself so that his parents donât find out about it. He prefers to work on projects with Robin, but heâs branched out before and enjoyed it as well.
Robin studied music with a concentration in music directing in school and was known in her program for putting up some of the most exciting and entertaining black box shows! She always looks for scripts and scores that present a challenge to her.
Sheâs known for being a great music director to work with. She takes her work seriously, but she also makes sure that it remains fun for everyone throughout the process.
Jonathan got into directing in college when his girlfriend at the time (Nancy) decided to change her major to stage management. When Nancy would come to him with complaints about her directors, Jonathan would think of solutions and ideas for Nancy to bring up in rehearsals.
Nancy suggests he give directing a try, he seems to have good instincts for it. He gives it a shot, directing a small black box show and ends up really enjoying it. He doesnât change his major, but he continues to direct small student run projects.
After graduating, he gets a call from Nancy one day and sheâs begging him to come help with a show that has gone off the rails with the director and he obliges. He ends up sticking with directing for a while after that, because heâs good at it and he actually really enjoys it!
Nancy is a stage manager extraordinaire, her book for every show is utterly terrifying to literally everyone. Itâs extremely well-organized, but itâs fucking huge.
Nobody ever questions Nancyâs orders, they know better. She runs a tight schedule in rehearsals and is always on top of everything. Sheâs prepared to handle anything that comes up, anything at all. But do NOT test her patience during Hell Week or she will actually kill you and let your understudy go on in your place.
#i havenât figured out where argyle fits into this yet but iâll get there#also the cast of the show is the party!!#the play that theyâre working in is about the upside down#but in this universe itâs an entirely made up place and idea that eddie came up with#answered#anonymous#anya.txt#my writing#just tagging that so i can find this post later when i start outlining this fic

For the enemiesïżŒ the pregnancy Steve x reader fic you could to do the smut if you want
Oh I love me some good enemies to lovers trope. And I love the plot twist. Hot, angry sex with Steve? Hell yes đ
You Arenât So Bad
Steve Harrington x Reader
Warning: Smut
You didnât exactly hate Steve Harrington, but you werenât that fond of him either.
Ever since youâd first met him, you hadnât managed to get along. Your personalities clashed and you just annoyed one another too much.
He was loud, annoying and just infuriating.
Steve couldnât stand that you were a uptight, goody two shoes who didnât seem to have a funânor kindâbone in your body.
He was just upset that your quips were better than his.
All in all, you just rubbed another the wrong way.
Much to your mutual friendsâ exasperation.
âCanât you two get along for a second?â Nancy huffed.
âItâs like hanging out with divorced parents,â Eddie mumbled, âItâs so annoying.â
âWell if he wasnât such a slimy jerk, Iâd consider it,â you shrugged.
âSlimy jerk? How in the world am I a slimy jerk?â Steve asked.
âThis week alone youâve had 5 dates, Harrington.â
âWhat can I say? The ladies love me,â he shrugged.
âAnnnnd you just proved my point,â you said.
âJust because I like to keep my options open?â
âYouâve had five dates this week. Itâs Wednesday.â
âThatâs just a rare case. I had a few days where I was double booked, so what?â he shrugged.
You looked at him, exasperated.
âHeâs impossible,â you shook your head, throwing your hands up in the air.
âWhenâs the last time you even had a date?â he challenged.
âWell, unlike you, I donât make my dating life anyoneâs business!â
âThat long, huh?â he smirked.
âAlright guys, time out,â Eddie said, âYouâre exhausting.â
âHonestly. Would it kill you two to get along for once?â Nancy asked.
âYes,â you both deadpanned in unison, causing you to scowl at each other.
âTruly though,â you asked, turning to Robin, âHow much does he pay these girls to go out with them?â
âHow much do you bribe a guy for a fuck?â he shot back.
âENOUGH!â
The table you four sat at shook as Eddieâs hands slapped down onto it. Everyone jumped at his shout.
Thankfully you were in Eddieâs trailer and not in public because you wouldâve attracted attention of absolutely everyone.
âI swear to God, one of these days Iâm locking you two in a closet until you can get along,â Eddie said, motioning back and forth between you and Steve.
âIâd rather lick a toilet,â you said flatly.
âHonestly, you two should just tear each otherâs clothes off and fuck already. Everyone would be so much happier if you did,â Eddie said.
You spit the water out that you were drinking from a bottle youâd grabbed from Eddieâs fridge. Steve just grimaced.
âNow Iâd rather lick a toilet,â Steve mumbled.
âIâd rather not catch an infectious disease,â you fired back.
âI know itâs a real shock to you, but I do know how to use protection,â he glared.
You glanced at the weary faces around you, your three friends just downright exhausted by you two.
âOh, what does he want us to do? Applaud?â
Your sarcasm dripped like honey and he narrowed his eyes at you.
âI know you think youâre cute, but you really arenât Y/L/N,â Steve said.
âOh I know Iâm cute, I donât need your validation though, thanks.â
âOkay, weâre going,â Nancy said, getting up, grabbing her keys, âLetâs go, Y/N. Eddie, thanks for having us. Iâd say itâs been fun, but well, you know.â
He waved and you said bye to him and Robin, shooting your middle finger Steveâs way before following Nancy out to her car.
âOne of these days Iâm going to shut her up for good,â Steve mumbled.
âAs long as itâs with a kiss, thatâs fine by us,â Robin said, not looking up as she perused the channels on the tv.
âAre you drunk? How many beers did Eddie give you?â Steve asked.
âOne,â Eddie said, as Robin piped up with, âIâm not drunk.â
âThen what gives you the crazy idea that Iâd want to kiss, Y/N?â
He folded his arms, gaze intent on hers, waiting for an answer.
âBecause she drives you crazy,â she answered, as if it were obvious.
Which, it was, to Steve.
âObviously,â Steve said, âItâs no secret.â
âI think she means drives you crazy to the point you just want to fuck with her because you canâtâor should I say, refuseâto fuck her,â Eddie deadpanned.
âYou both have lost your damn minds,â Steve said, shaking his head, pacing.
âOh come on, Steve,â Robin groaned, throwing her head back against the couch, âAt this rate, throwing insults back and forth at one another is just your form of foreplay now.â
âShe challenges you,â Eddie nodded, âShe takes no shit from you, hands it right back and it drives you fucking insane.â
Steve paused his pacing, hands running through his hair, gaping at them. They both raised their brows at him, waiting for it to hit him.
âCause damnit, his friends just might be right.
âą
You swore sometimes Steve made your blood boil.
You couldnât even pinpoint what it was that made you so angry, you just knew half the time you were walking away with your heart racing, breathing heavy and a heated feeling encompassing your body.
You would never admit it, but it was fun messing with Steve, trying to get a rise out of him.
Some might think it was even a turn on.
But, you wouldnât go that far as to say that.
He just got on your nerves, thatâs all.
âSo, thereâs a party tonight,â Nancy began, breaking the silence.
âWill Steve be there?â you automatically asked.
She gave you a withering glance and you shrugged. You didnât need a good party ruined because Hair Harrington was going to be there.
âNo, he has a date tonight,â she said.
âShocking,â you drawled.
âSo, you wanna go? Eddie and Robin are coming too,â she asked.
âSure. Sounds fun.â
âą
The assholes you called your friends had tricked you. Steve absolutely did not have a date tonight.
He was the first person youâd spotted, the moment you and Nancy walked in.
âAnd, Iâm out,â you said, turning on your heel.
Nancy caught your arm.
âCanât you at least try to be civil for one night?â she asked.
You sighed, rolling your eyes.
âIâll try.â
At least the house was big enough to try and avoid him.
It wasnât a huge, out of control party like some youâd been to. There was still a good few dozen people, but with the house being rather large, it was easy to find some privacy.
People hung out in the living room, playing video games and eating slices of greasy pizza. There were more people out by the pool, swimming or sitting on the edge, feet dipping into the pool. More were gathered in the kitchen playing drinking games and cheeringâloud enough for you to hear them from where you were sitting by yourself on the stairs.
Youâd lost Nancy, Eddie and Robin earlier. Eddie and Robin playing video games and Nancy going to catch up with some old acquaintances. You had no idea where Steve was, although knowing him, he was trying to score his latest conquest. Not that you cared.
You drank the remnants of your warm soda, grimacing. It was a better option than the beer you refused to drink, besides, you werenât in the mood to get drunk tonight.
âMind if I crash your party of one?â you heard and you glanced up from your empty cup to see Steve at the foot of the stairs.
âSteve Harrington knows how to be polite, shocking,â you uttered, setting your empty cup aside, standing.
âNo need to leave cause of me,â he said, climbing the steps two at a time until he was in front of you.
He leaned against the wall across from you, hands in his jeans pockets.
âI thought youâd be on the hunt for another date,â you mused.
âDecided to take the night off,â he shrugged.
âIs that code for you just got turned down numerous times? I bet your dick is thoroughly disappointed in you,â you scoffed.
âNah. Decided to spend the night looking for a guy to fuck you. Maybe itâll loosen you up,â he smirked.
Your eyes narrowed as you glared at him.
âFuck off.â
âYou make it too easy,â he smirked.
He only laughed when you flipped him off.
âItâs fun getting on your nerves, you just get all riled up. Itâs just so easy,â he taunted.
Your heart raced, blood pounding in your eyes, words spilling out your mouth before you could stop it.
âYou know, the clitoris has eight thousand nerves. If youâre gonna get on my nerves, at least get on one of those.â
His gaze was challenging, eyes sparkling with mischief and a part of you almost dared him to do it.
âMaybe I should,â he replied huskily.
âYou wonât,â you threw back.
He moved faster than you processed and then next thing you knew, your back was pressed into the railing of the stairs, his mouth hot on yours.
His lips moved at a frenetic pace, tongue almost immediately joining yours. You definitely didnât mean to, but you may have moaned slightly when his teeth scraped over your bottom lip, giving it a tug before your lips were connected again. He growled against your mouth, devouring you, like he couldnât get enough of you. Frankly, you couldnât get enough of this. He was quite the skilled kisser, knowing just how to kiss you to make you inevitably weak.
You wanted to protest when he broke the kiss, but his lips traveled down your jaw and neck, sucking with enough pressure in certain spots to make you mewl quietly.
âStill think Iâm not up to the challenge?â he whispered hotly by your ear.
His hands held you close, sliding around to your back, pressing his hips into yours. You gasped, feeling the beginnings of his arousal in his pants.
Damn him.
Damn your own bodyâs reaction to him.
But your brain was foggy and when he suggested heading upstairs, you didnât argue. You mightâve, if youâd been in your right mind.
You had plenty of time from the moment he grabbed your hand, leading you upstairs, to the moment you reached an empty bedroom, to protest. But you didnât. You couldnât stop this. It was a snowball rolling down the snowy bank getting bigger and bigger, unable to be stopped.
The moment the door was closed, he pushed you roughly against it, reviving the broken kiss from a few moments ago. Your hands found their way into his hair, his under your shirt. He had it up and over your head in an instant, leaving your heavy, aching breasts still confined by your bra.
Nimble fingers unfastened your pants, pulling them down your hips and you kicked them away, your mouth still all consumed by him. Youâd barely managed to tug his shirt over his head before his grip was under your thighs, hoisting you up. Your back was pressed flush with the door, legs now wrapped around his waist as you rubbed your throbbing core against him.
âFuck, youâre not going to make this easy on me,â he groaned, pressing his hips harder into yours.
Another gasp escaped, the feeling of him rubbing against you, driving you wild. The thoughts of him being inside you becoming an itch that you needed to scratch.
There was nothing gentle about this. You both were worked up and hot for one another. There was no time to waste. In fact, he hardly got his pants and underwear pushed down his hips before he pushed your underwear to the side, sliding into you.
For once, you were actually speechless as your head lolled against the door, not being able to believe that he was better than you couldâve imaginedânot that youâd imagine it, though.
It was wild, rough and desperate sex from the beginning. One hand braced against the door, the other holding you up as he thrusted in you roughly, without any remorse.
âItâs about time you shut up,â he gritted out.
âFuck you,â you moaned out, gripping and clawing at his back.
âYou already are, sweetheart,â he muttered, smirking, angling his hips to thrust deeper into you.
You couldnât believe you were actually against a door in a random personâs house with Steve Harrington buried to the hilt inside you. But, damnit, did you love it.
âIf you donât shut the fuck up, Iâm walking away right now,â you growled, gripping his hair.
âI dare you,â he taunted.
But, you couldnât. There was no way you had the willpower to disentangle yourself from him as his hips slammed into yours, body rocking into yours as he fucked you like youâve never been fucked before.
Your answering moan was all you could offer as his fingers found your clit, rubbing it. At least he was finally getting on the right nerves.
âThatâs what I thought,â he groaned.
Your walls were so tight around him and he wasnât going to last much longer, but all he wanted to do is fuck you into this door, replacing all your snarky comments with moans.
âFuck, Steve,â you gasped.
He about went feral hearing his name fall from your lips and worked double time to bring you crashing down along with him.
When it happened without warning for how intense it would be, you clutched him close to you, heels digging into his back, arms clutched tightly around his neck as you saw stars. You had no idea he would be this good and you had a bad feeling youâd exposed yourself to a hunger than only he would be able to satiate.
âHoly shit,â came Steveâs guttural groan as he did, âY/N, fuck.â
It truly wasnât until much later that youâd realized youâd both, lost in in the heat of the moment, had forgotten the condom.
As you got redressed, you were still in a dazeânot enough to miss Steveâs gaze on you, though.
âDonât get any ideas,â you said, eyeing him as he fetched his shirt, âThis was a one time thing.â
Although you wished it wasnât going to be.
âI just wanted to say that maybe you arenât that bad after all,â he shrugged, pulling on his shirt.
âI guess I can admit you arenât so bad, either.â
âą
The dynamic definitely changed between you and Steve after that fateful night.
Everyone seemed to notice how youâd both mellowed out. Maybe not friends, exactly, but no longer at each otherâs throats. If theyâd figured out whatâd transpired between you two, they didnât let on.
They were suspicious though.
âWhatâs gotten into you two? Steve just picked a movie to watch and you didnât even complain once,â Robin said, appalled.
âDonât jinx it. They might start squabbling at any point,â he said, though he eyed the pair of you, warily.
âDid you guys come to a truce or something like that?â Nancy asked.
âSomething like that,â you replied, not missing the amused smile that Steve tried to hide.
That seemed to satisfy them.
But, it left you in a limbo of your confusing feelings for Steve.
You wished your one time thing wasnât going to be it, but he seemed to honor your wishes. He was actually quite the gentleman, now that the protective layer of snarky comments and displaced annoyance at him had been scrubbed away.
You might actually be developing feelings for him.
Whatâs also odd was that the endless, turnstile of beautiful girls that Steve always seemed to have came to an abrupt stop. He didnât mention any girls he was seeing or any dates he had. It was odd.
While your mind swam with confusing feelings and thoughts, something else, much more serious was growing as well.
âą
Youâd realized later that you and Steve had forgotten a condom, but you werenât too worried. You had been due for you period any day, anyways.
That being said, it was your horny brain that had managed to forget that that was a dangerous time for unprotected sex.
As you stared at the positive pregnancy test, you knew were in deep trouble. You had conflicting feelings for this man and here you were, pregnant with his baby.
You and Steve hadnât talked about the night in question, but then suddenly you were forced to. Youâd invited him out, not caring where you went, just knowing that you couldnât keep this a secret from himâyou didnât want to.
He picked you up and you two ended up parking at Loverâs Lakeâfor the privacy, not for other things.
âSo, are you going to tell me whatâs up?â he asked, leaning back in the driverâs seat and looking at you.
âWell, you know that night weââ you motioned back and forth between the two of you, âAt the party?â
âYou mean had hot, angry, mind blowing sex? Yeah, I seem to remember that,â he smirked.
You felt a flush creep up your neck. So, the amazing part hadnât just been on your end.
âGlad Iâm not the only one who agreed on that,â you mumbled.
He let out a hearty laugh, then looked back at you, face slowly falling, eyebrows pinched when he saw the seriousness on your face.
âIs this not just us talking about where to go from here?â he questioned.
âOh, it definitely involves that. Thereâs just a bit of a plot twist.â
He stared at you blankly, but then realization slowly dawned on him.
âYouâre pregnant,â he whispered.
You nodded, biting your lip.
He exhaled, taking it in while you sat, waiting for him to process the news. After all, youâd had a few days to process it, he deserved all the time he needed.
He rubbed his jaw, shaking his head with a smile.
âSteve?â you promoted, curious to what was going through his mind.
âIs it bad that Iâm thrilled?â he chuckled.
Your varying emotions took a moment to process, then you laughed.
âNo, I mean Iâm glad youâre not upset, but I assumed you just beâŠindifferent? I mean, not in an asshole way, just an âokay this is whatâs happening and we will get through itâ type of way,â you said, truthfully.
âI mean Iâve always dreamed of having kids, but it also gives us an excuse to figure things outâŠâ he said, trailing off hesitantly, âBetween us. If you want.â
âIâd like that,â you whispered.
It was like a weight off your shoulders, the confusion and dread of figuring out your feelings for Steve now blossoming into hope and promise. This baby you were carrying mightâve been conceived accidentally, but it might actually be a blessing in disguise.
He reached out tentatively, pinky touching your pinky of the hand you rested on your lap. Your hand found his, letting it be enveloped in his.
It was his random bout of laughter that had you turning to him in confusion.
âWhat?â
âWho wouldâve thought a baby would be the thing that brought us together,â he chuckled.
It was something youâd definitely laughed at months ago, but this was your reality now and you werenât mad about it.
âYou know, you arenât that bad after all,â he teased, repeating his same words heâd said to you that night.
âYou arenât so bad either, Steve.â
