Dec. 11th: You're Not My Girlfriend
Day 11: Playing with their hair/Cute habits
We’ve made it to day eleven of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge!
Warnings: Maybe Swearing (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)  Word Counts: 1.1k+ Words Pairings: Eddie Munson x Reader
Eddie was very protective of his hair. It was one of the first things you noticed when you became friends. While Steve spent time styling his luscious locks, Eddie spent his time finding ways to keep his hair naturally healthy and that meant that nobody was allowed to put their oily fingers in his hair. “It will fuck with my natural pH,” He once said after smacking Gareth, who tried to give him noogie. Ever since then, everyone stayed away from the hair, fearing Eddie’s wrath.
During movie nights with the group, even before you two started dating, Eddie would run his fingers through your hair, slightly massaging your scalp as he did so. It was comforting and made your heart just sizzle and burn with affection. You quickly noticed that Eddie would do this whenever he wanted to express affection and be close when actual closeness was inappropriate. For instance, during a group dinner with Nancy, Jonathan, Robin, and Steve. Eddie, with his arm around your chair, would bring his hand up to run his fingers through your hair, running his fingers through the strands before dragging his fingertips across your scalp. You leaned in to this behavior. Eddie’s love language was physical touch and it was his way of reminding you, ‘Hey, I’m here and I love you.’
The fact that your love language was words of affirmation sometimes threw him off and the conversation about it was frequent. “Do you still love me?” He randomly questioned as you both played on your parents couch, Macy asleep on the floor. You were so confused, how could this boy possibly think your feelings for him have dwindled even slightly?
“Of course I still love you, probably more today than I did yesterday,” You said, reassuring the poor boy as you grabbed his hand. From that moment on, you made it your mission to express your love with physical affection so he would never question the love you had for him.
The first time you purposefully used affection to reassure your boyfriend, you were eating dinner with your Mom, Macy, and your grandparents. Though they knew who Eddie was, they weren’t the most thrilled by your relationship upgrade. “What do you plan to do after you graduate this year then, Eddie?” Your grandpa probed.
Eddie tensed up beside you but before he could respond, Macy interrupted. “Eddie is a rockstar, Papa!”
“How do you expected to do anything with that kind of career, will you be able to financially support a family?” Your grandpa continued asking.
“Grandpa!” You scolded, shooting glares across the table.
“No, it’s okay, babe,” Eddie reassured you before continuing. “I love to think I’m the rockstar that Macy thinks I am but while I wait for those dreams to take off, I got a job working at the record store on Main Street.”
“And we are so proud of you,” Your mom said, smiling at Eddie from across the table. Noticing Eddie’s tight smile, you reached up, placing your hand on the back of his neck before giving him a slight squeeze. Keeping your hand there, you began lightly running your fingers along his nape. Eddie quickly relaxed, looking at you with a soft expression.
“The crazy thing, Grandpa,” You started, continuing the soft touch to Eddie’s neck. “Is that I will support Eddie in any endeavor he wants to do as long as he’s happy and passionate about it. If he becomes the next Ozzy, I’ll be at his show, side-stage, cheering him on. If he decides that he doesn’t want to be a rocker and instead he wants teach music, I’ll be at every recital or performance cheering on the best teacher there is. That’s what it means to support your partner.” You sighed, before looking at Eddie who, in returning his love language with yours, mumbled out a soft, “I love you.”
The next time, Eddie noticed your increased physical touch was during his graduation ceremony. Though it was Eddie’s third time as a senior, it was perfect as you two graduated together.  As you sat next to each other on the chairs in the stuffy gymnasium, Jason approached the two of you. “Third time really is a charm, huh, Munson.”
“I’m not doing this with you today, Jason,” Eddie grumbled out. Noticing his normally bubbly personality begin to shrivel into the person that only Jason seemed to change him into, you grabbed his hand before wrapping your other hand around his arm. Finding comfort in your touch, Eddie took a deep breath before responding again, “Enjoy your day, Jason.”
“That was impressive,” You mumbled out, pressing a quick kiss to Eddie’s neck.
With a shudder, his hand found yours on his arm before he squeezed it. Eddie said, ”You made me feel stronger.”
“I’m always here to help you when you need it, Eds,” You whispered. “Let’s go find our families.”
And today, the rest of the party noticed too. Everyone was hanging out at Steve’s house for their weekly movie night. The couches and recliner full of bodies, you and Eddie opted to lay on the floor with you sitting up right, leaning against the side of couch, and Eddie with his head in your lap.
“I’m just saying that I think ‘Halloween’ is probably the best slasher movie ever,” Dustin said, shrugging.
“No way, ‘The Hills Have Eyes’ scared me for months,” Lucas argued. “It’s definitely better.”
“You’re missing Dustin’s point, Sinclair,” Eddie laughed out. “‘The Hills Have Eyes’ is scary but what makes ‘Halloween’ better is how diabolical Michael Myers is with his slow speed.”
“Exactly!” Dustin shouted. You laughed at their childish argument before running your fingers through Eddie’s hair, your fingers massaging his scalp with a practiced touch.
“What are you doing,” Gareth gaped.
“Hm?” You questioned, your fingers continuing their movements. “What do you mean?”
“You’re touching Eddie’s hair,” Gareth said, loudly with fear in his eyes. Eddie, who had fallen under the trance of your fingers popped up at the mention of his name.
“I did not know that was against the rules,” I said, glancing down at Eddie before looking at the rest of the group, who all decided to stop their discussion and look at you two.
“It’s not against the rules for you, baby,” Eddie said, grabbing your hand and putting it back into his hair. “It’s against the rules for those assholes who liked to fuck with me.”
“Hey!” Gareth argued. “You quite literally punched me in the shoulder last time I even came new your hair.”
“Yeah, and you’re not my girlfriend,” Eddie retorted. “Besides, when she does it, it feels like love and comfort. I’m not worried about what she might be doing or a punchline she might be making.”
Eddie loved physical touch and the innocent touches that you could provide, whether that was rubbing his back or massaging his scalp, provided him with the sense of safety and comfort. And you were more than willing and happy to provide that.

Dec. 9th: Sitting on Santa's Lap
Day 9: Staycation/Day at the Fair
Day nine of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge!
Warnings: Maybe Swearing (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)   Word Counts: 1.4k+ Words Pairings: Eddie Munson x Reader
“You’re joking,” You said, wide-eyed and shocked. “You have never sat on Santa’s lap, ever?”
“Why are you surprised, Y/n,” Dustin said, laughing at your surprise. “Can you really picture Eddie, the most metal person ever, sitting on Santa’s lap?”
“I’d pay to see it happen,” Steve snorted, nudging Robin.
“You can pay me, Stevie,” Macy, your younger sister said, jumping from Eddie’s lap. “Eddie, I can go with you to see Santa if you’re scared. He’s a really nice guy, he smells like gingerbread!”
“You should make Steve pay all the time, love bug. Especially when he’s being mean,” Eddie mumbled, glaring at Steve before sticking his tongue out at him. “I’ll go with you to see Santa, though.”
“You’re too sweet to her,” You whispered, watching your sister’s face light up before she turned to run from Dustin as he tried to tickle her.
“Nah, it’s just how she should be treated,” Eddie responded before putting a kiss on your head. “We better get dressed to go to the Christmas fair, guys!”
“Yay!” Macy shouted, running around the room to find her shoes and coat. “I wanna sit in the car with Dusty and Will!”
Once everyone decided which car they would be riding in, everyone quickly got into their ride and took off towards the fair.
“What are you most excited to do, Macy Mace?” Will asked Macy, as she squealed in the back with excitement.
“I want to see Santa, duh,” Macy giggled, before continuing her list of must-sees. “Then we have to try the hot cocoa, ice skating, eat homemade popcorn, decorate the sugar cookies, race the elves-“
You quickly interrupted the five-year-old, “Mace, remember we have to take it slow, there are lots of other people with us and we have to take turns letting other people pick too.”
She released a giant sigh. “Okay.”
Before long, everyone had pulled into the parking spaces at the Christmas fair, and with your hand wrapped tightly around your sister’s and your other wrapped around Eddie’s, you guys braced yourself for the mayhem that was bound to ensue with a manic five-year-old.
“Let’s get some hot cocoa first, Mace,” Dustin said, reaching out for her hand.
“Yay,” She cheered for the second time today, as she let go of your hand to find Dustin’s.
“Are you really going to sit on Santa’s lap?” You questioned up at the metal head.
“Oh yeah, he is,” Robin said, giggling. “I’m going to make sure of it.”
“If you guys want to make fun of me for finally taking a piece of my childhood back with a five-year-old who is full of Christmas spirit, that’s fine,” Eddie said, shrugging his shoulders. “I’m going to enjoy it and not regret a thing. I intend to make this a day that Macy remembers.”
“It will certainly be one that I never forget,” Steve retorts, grabbing Eddie’s shoulders as Macy and Dustin return with their hot cocoas.
“How’s that hot chocolate, sweet pea,” You question, noticing the amount of chocolate around Macy’s mouth.
“So yummy,” she mumbled back, busy drinking the warm drink.
“I’m sorry, Y/n,” Dustin said, sheepishly. “We made a bit of a mess."
“Don’t worry about it, Dusty,” You said back, ruffling his hair. “I expected her to get messy today, it’s the way that I can prove she’s had a great day.”
“Santaaaaa!” Macy screamed out, quickly giving you her hot chocolate as she ran.
“Eds,” You quickly grumbled. “Please follow with her, I can’t run with the hot chocolate.”
Eddie quickly jogged over to where Macy was standing, wide-eyed and mesmerized by the giant man sitting on a chair surrounded by elves. “You ready to get in line? We have to wait our turn,” Eddie said, touching Macy’s head to get her attention.
“Let’s go, let’s go!”
Twenty minutes later, Eddie and Macy were next up in line. The excitement was radiating off of Macy in contagious waves. For the first time Eddie could remember, he was nervous in a little kid's way.
“Mr. Santa!” Macy cheered, approaching the man in a red suit.
“Well, hello dear,” Santa said. “What is your name?”
“My name is Macy, and this is my sister’s boyfriend, Eddie. He has never met you before so I wanted to introduce you guys!”
“Nice to meet you Eddie,” Santa said, smiling at Macy’s excitement. “Macy, what would you like for Christmas.”
“Eddie has to sit on your lap too,” Macy said, ignoring his question. “It’s tradition.”
“Mace, I think I’m too old and too big,” Eddie said, softly smiling at the little girl.
“No,” Macy argued. “Santa, he has to!”
“You can sit on my knee too, Eddie,” Santa said, trying to de-escalate the situation.
Eddie released a sigh before lowering himself onto Santa’s thigh, careful not to put too much weight on the gentleman. “I already sent you my Christmas list,” Macy rambled. “The highlights are a new easy bake oven and a bike. Eddie, what did you want to ask Santa for?”
“Uhm,” Eddie started. After having never been asked this question, he could not think of any materialistic things that would make him happier than the people surrounding him right now. But to please Macy he said, “I would love a new guitar strap or an amp.”
“Well you two, from my list I can see that you have both been very good this year. I will see what my elves and I can do for you,” Santa said, patting each of their backs.
“Thank you, Santa,” Macy cheered, climbing off the man’s lap and grabbing Eddie’s hand.
“Yeah, thank you Santa,” Eddie echoed. Santa shot him a wink in response. The rest of the crew, who were watching from beyond the line, called out as Macy ran up to them.
“Stevie, you have to pay me money now! I love the Christmas fair!” She cheered pointing a finger at Steve before she turned and started babbling away to Jonathan and Argyle about how they needed to decorate sugar cookies, now.
“How was Santa’s lap?” Mike joked out, causing you to lightly smack the back of his head. “Ow, what was that for?”
“Being a little jerk,” Nancy responded before you. “Come on guys, the show is over, let’s go get the homemade popcorn.”
Eddie, hanging behind the group a big, gently pulled your hand to get you to slow your pace. “How was that, Eds?”
“Felt weird,” He responded quietly. Realizing how he must be feeling, you didn’t push, instead, you stopped walking and pulled him into you.
“You deserve some cookies and hot cocoa, mister,” You mumbled wrapping your arms around his waist, tightly.
“Please,” Eddie sighed, his body melting into yours. Hand-in-hand, you walked with Eddie towards the others to check on Macy before getting Eddie hot chocolate. “Thank you,” Eddie said, smiling down at you as you handed him the warm drink.
“Anything for you my love,” You responded. “Now let’s go get find the sugar-crazed Macy and see if she’s ready to go home!”
After hours of playing at the Christmas fair, and Macy being so tired that Eddie had to carry her, everyone decided it was time to head home. Jonathan drove El, Argyle, Will, and Lucas home and Steve took Nancy, Robin, Mike, and Lucas. Dustin and Max rode back with you, Eddie, and Macy. After dropping everyone off at their houses, Eddie pulled your car into the driveway.
“I think my mom is inside, Eds,” You whispered to the boy as he was getting your sister out of her car seat. “If you want to put her in her bed and meet me in the living room, we can watch a movie?”
“Sounds perfect,” He whispered back. You closed the car doors behind him before racing around to get the front door too. Your mom greeted the three of you before ushering Eddie upstairs to tuck Macy in after him. You walked into the living room, turned on the TV, and got some blankets out before sitting on the couch.
“I think a piece of my childhood was given back to me today,” Eddie said to you as he walked back into the living room where you were sitting. “I can’t thank you or your sister enough for allowing me that space to feel that.”
“Oh, baby, come here,” You choked out, making grabby hands towards Eddie. As he found his space beside you, you pulled his body into yours, dragging your nails along his scalp. “I feel so lucky that you feel safe enough with us to let yourself have these moments.”
“Can we go back to the fair next year too? Make it a tradition?” He asked, looking up at you with a child-like twinkle in his eyes.
“Our own traditions,” You whispered, mostly to yourself. “I would like that.”

Dec. 18th: Coffee in the Morning
Day 18: Saying ILY without saying it/Birthdays
Day 18!!! of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge has arrived!
Warnings: Swearing (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)  Word Counts: 0.9k+ Words Pairings: Eddie Munson x Reader
You knew that to provide Eddie with comfort in times when you couldn’t say it, you would touch his neck, grab his hand, run your fingers through his hair, anything to provide physical closeness. Eddie, however, was struggling to find what you needed in those moments.
“Eddie,” Macy screamed, running through the house to find you and Eddie sitting together on the couch.
“What’s up, Macy girl,” Eddie said sitting up to accommodate your sister as she climbed up into his lap.
While you loved the relationship that Eddie had with your sister, you needed the space tonight. After a miserable day at work and a delivery of bad news from your boss regarding your holiday work schedule, you just wanted to cuddle up with your boyfriend. You did not want to accommodate other people or share your boyfriend.
“Eds,” You whispered, Macy burrowing her face into Eddie’s neck as he rubbed reassuring circles on her back, a comforting act that you wanted for yourself. “You stay here with Macy, I’m going to get ready for bed.”
Before Eddie could respond, you walked up the stairs and into your bedroom to get ready for bed. You were going to need to find the comfort you needed, all on your own.
A week later, you and Eddie were walking along Lover’s Lake, the rest of the party was back at the base camp that was set up for the camping festivities.
“I feel like I haven’t seen very much of you lately,” You whispered, looking up at Eddie as your grip on his arm tightened.
“I know, I’ve missed you,” Eddie responded, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, but I just-“
“Eddie,” A voice shouted from the camp. “We need your help, we’re trying to explain the D&D dice to Steve but he’s being a dick!”
“I have to go help the guys babe,” Eddie said, squeezing your hand before running off.
“Yeah, of course I’m fine,” You began, talking to yourself. “I just feel alone and it kind of feels like everything is falling apart. But don’t worry, I’m fine!”
Two days later, with the frustration and loneliness bubbling over, you found yourself alone in your bedroom with tears welling up in your eyes. Soft sobs racked through you as you pulled the pillows on your bed towards your body.
“Y/n?” You heard Eddie call through the closed door.
“Yeah?” You responded, trying to quickly dry your eyes and remove any evidence that you’ve been crying.
“What are you doing in here?” He asked, walking through the threshold and closing the door behind him. “Wait, are you okay?”
“I’m fine, Eds,” You said. “It’s just-“
“Eddie, Eddie, Eddie!”
“Hey Macy girl,” Eddie said, smiling at the little girl before picking her up and swinging her around.
“Will you come play with me? I gots a new Barbie!”
“Wow, Mace, that sounds incredible,” Eddie said before looking at you. Noticing you roll your eyes and bury yourself deeper into the mountain of pillows, Eddie continued, “I’ll come find you in a bit, Macy, I need to stay with your sister for a little bit, okay?”
“Okay! Give her kisses from me. Feel better, Sissy!” Macy cheered, walking out of the room.
“Why’d you do that?”
“What do you mean?” Eddie said, confusion painting his face.
“I mean, you’re good at taking care of other people, Eds. I find it hard to believe that you let Macy play on her own."
“You need me.”
“I’ve needed you for the last week too, though, and you didn’t seem to notice then.”
“Baby...” Eddie said, sighing as he pulled your body closer. “I’m an idiot. I could tell something was wrong but I just assumed you’d tell me what was bothering you?”
“I just wanted you to hold me and be there for me but I couldn’t hold on to you long enough to seek comfort before someone was pulling you away,” You said, wrapping your arms around yourself. Eddie, saw you closing yourself off and hauled you into his arms. “I love that you care about others so much, I just wanted you to be that for me too without me needing to beg for it.”
“I’m sorry I haven’t been there for you and you’ve been taking care of yourself all alone,” Eddie whispered into your hairline. “I’ll be better about making sure you’re okay...”
“I should work on expressing my needs too, though,” You said, shrugging before burrowing yourself into Eddie like Macy did the week before.
“So, tell me what’s been bringing you down,” Eddie mumbled, rubbing your back in the way you craved.
“Well,” you began... An hour later, you’ve finished breaking down the horrors of your job and the problem with your schedule. Together, you and Eddie fell asleep and for the first time in a week and a half, you felt lighter. The weight of your problems wasn’t weighing on you alone, in fact, they weren’t weighing on either of you since Eddie was able to help you find the bright side.
The next morning, you woke up, Eddie had already left for work but his side of the bed still felt warm. After brushing your teeth, you tiptoed downstairs to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee. But sitting on the kitchen table was a cup of coffee with the note, for my love.
“Oh, Eddie,” You whispered.
“I helped him make it,” Macy said, interrupting your thoughts with her giggly attitude.
“You did?!” You questioned, turning around to grab the little girl in your arms. And in that moment, you felt warmer and lighter than you had in a long time.

Dec. 5th: Lean on Me
Day 5: Caring for them when they’re sick/Admiring them all dressed up
Here is day Five of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge!
Warnings: Swearing (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)   Word Counts: 1.2k+ Words Pairings: Eddie Munson x Reader
A/n: The characters in this story are in their 20s but still living at home, because the economy sucks and rent is expensive. Nobody is in high school, except the younger kids in the party!
It was not often that Eddie was stuck in bed. The boy had a continued need to prove he was capable of taking care of you, not that you ever needed a demonstration. There was never a moment he made you question his ability to be a caring or dependable partner. And though communicating your feelings and thoughts was becoming easier between the two of you, Eddie still struggled to admit when he needed help. So when you called to talk to him after dinner, you were startled to hear the poor boy with a sickly voice behind the receiver.
“Hello,” you heard grumble through the phone.
“Baby?” You questioned, noticing the unusual grit in your boyfriend’s voice. “Are you doing okay?”
“I’m fine, sweetheart,” came muffled from Eddie. “Just have a headache, I’ll be fine in a few hours.”
“Okay, Eds,” You hesitated, before continuing, “Do you need me to bring you anything? We just finished dinner, I was going to start homework but that can wait.”
“Course not babe,” Eddie choked out, trying to mask a groan.
“Get some rest, handsome,” You sighed, hanging up before letting your parents know you were heading over to Eddie’s. Before leaving, you picked the phone back up. “Wayne?”
“What do ya need, darlin’?” Wayne said into the receiver, his voice perking up at your voice.
“I’m about to head over to check on Eddie, I think I’m going to get him some soup and medicine. While I was out I wanted to check on you too. Are you feeling okay? Do you need me to grab anything at the store for you while I’m there?”
“Eddie better keep you around forever,” Wayne joked, dodging your question.
“Wayne, I’m being serious,” You scolded. “I want to make sure you’re taken care of too.”
“I’m feeling fine, darlin’. I wouldn’t mind coming home to a donut or two in the morning though.”
“I can do a donut or two,” You said, smiling into the receiver before continuing. “Have a great night at work, the donuts will be on top of the stove when you get home.”
“Thank you, hun,” Wayne said slowly before hanging up.
Quickly grabbing your jacket and car keys, you rushed out the door, to head to the grocery store. It was hard to determine what Eddie was dealing with or what was hurting him since he decided to be so nonchalant and keep his struggles to himself. So to cover all the bases, you grabbed Tylenol, TheraFlu, Sudafed, PeptoBismol, and NyQuil to be safe. You could narrow down exactly what he needed when you got there. In addition to the mediations, you walked around the store to find the ingredients for homemade chicken soup, a surefire way to make Eddie feel his best, and some Gatorade to refuel his electrolytes. Then lastly, the donuts for Wayne because he deserved to be taken care of too.
10 minutes later and with a bag full of groceries, you knocked on the door to the trailer trying not to drop anything. “No one is home!” You heard through the door.
“Eddie, baby,” You said loudly to get it through the door. “It’s me, please open up!”
“My sweetheart,” You heard Eddie say as the door swung open. “What are you doing here? You should be at home, I don’t want to get you sick.”
“Let’s get one thing straight, Munson” You mumbled, pushing past the curly-headed boy to get into the trailer. “You deserve to be taken care of too! What the fuck is up with you Munson men trying to avoid help at all costs. My god!”
“Woah,” Eddie said, wide-eyed, as he closed the door behind you.
“Just let me take care of you,” You whispered, looking up at the sickly-looking boy before you.
“Okay.”
With the green light given, you quickly got to work assessing Eddie’s pain and discomfort level. With a quick workup, you settled on giving him some nighttime TheraFlu so he could start relaxing while you cooked the soup. After getting all of the veggies into the pot to sauté and shredding the rotisserie chicken, you walked into the living room of the trailer, bringing the small cup of medicine to Eddie with a Gatorade.
“Here, I’m hoping this will start to take some of the discomfort away,” You said, passing the medicine over so you could open the Gatorade up.
“Ugh, that’s so gross,” Eddie whined, snatching the Gatorade from you to wash away the artificial fruit flavor of the liquid medication.
“I know baby,” You said, sitting next to the sick boy before pulling him into your lap to relax. “It will make you feel so much better though.”
You sat there for a few minutes, Eddie lying in your lap as you ran your fingers through his hair reassuringly. “I think that alone could cure me,” Eddie moaned out.
“Let me finish making the soup real quick, and then we’ll get you showered and I’ll play with your hair and rub your back as you go to sleep.”
After untangling yourself from Eddie and getting him situated on the couch, you went to the kitchen to combine the rest of the ingredients. “Baby,” You called from the kitchen. “Do you think you can make it to the bathroom? I have a feeling the soup will be ready around the same time as your shower.”
“Yeah, I think so,” Eddie groaned from the living room as he began the process of pulling himself off the couch. Soon enough, as you were watching the soup come to a boil, the shower also turned off signaling that Eddie was about to come out of the bathroom. You turned off the stove, ladled the soup into bowls, and put the rest into the container for leftovers.
“That smells so fucking good,” Eddie mumbled, as you walked into the small bedroom.
“I hope it tastes good too,” You said, smiling as you handed him a bowl, taking a seat next to him on his bed.
After a few minutes of loud slurping and content sighs, you took the bowls to the kitchen before walking back into Eddie’s room, signaling him to lie down. “You get to be the little spoon tonight, my love.”
Eddie’s eyes lit up as he lay on his side. A moment later, you crawled under the covers, getting comfortable behind Eddie. The two of you quickly found comfort within each other as one arm went up to Eddie’s hair and the other trailed under his shirt to rub his back.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t tell you how I was feeling.”
“You take such good care of me but I need you to know that I want to take care of you too. It’s not a burden,” You whispered into the quiet room.
“I know that now,” Eddie whispered back. “I have to warn you though, this kind of treatment is going to make a man do crazy things.”
You scoffed, “You act as if I don’t always give you this treatment.”
“You’re right,” Eddie said, turning his body around to face you. “I’m a really lucky guy. I love you, sweetheart.”
“I love you too, Eds,” You said, leaning in to kiss him before he stopped you.
“I don’t want to get you sick.”
“I don’t care about that,” You argued, pressing a quick kiss against his lips. “Besides, if that happens then you just have to take care of me.”
“I can live with that,” Eddie mumbled before leaning in to press his lips against yours once more.

Dec. 7th: I'm All Better Now
Day 7: Good morning kiss/Helping them pick out an outfit
Here is day seven of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge!
Warnings: Swearing, Allusions to Smut (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)   Word Counts: 1.2k+ Words Pairings: Eddie Munson x Reader
Waking up with Eddie changed the trajectory of the day, which could most likely be studied and deemed scientifically proven. It was like waking up in a warm cocoon of love and warmth. With his love language being physical touch, it was no surprise that you would find yourself the victim of his lovable smothering each time you two shared a bed. His legs, slotted between yours with his arms tightly wound around your back. This way of sleeping gave him the best position to lay his head on your chest, ultimately sleeping on top of you. Therefore, wrapping you up in the warm cocoon of looooove. There were worse ways to find yourself as you opened your eyes in the morning.
Except, of course, when your boyfriend who had been sick the previous night was still burning up as he got rid of his fever causing you to feel as though you were going to die of a heat stroke at any second.
The night had gone relatively smoothly. After getting up once more to get him some medicine, put the rest of the soup into the refrigerator, and put Wayne’s donuts in the middle of the stovetop, you found comfort in your boyfriend's arms and fell asleep. Now though, with your body aflame, it was hard to understand how you had ever been able to sleep. You were sure as hell not going to be able to fall back to sleep.
Taking the pillow you had been resting your head on, you slowly began to unwrap Eddie’s body from around you, slipping the pillow into your place. This movement, while not a crazy plan, was a workout that took way too long. After you sat up, and ensured that he was still sleeping peacefully, you walked out of the bedroom and into the bathroom.
‘Is this what domestic life is supposed to feel like?’ You wondered as you brushed your teeth in the bathroom mirror. You and Eddie had not had the conversation of living together. I mean, you had only been officially dating for a few weeks now, and even though the ‘I love you’s’ came quickly, neither one of you was ready for the responsibility that the next step would require. For now, though, the little glimpses at domesticity were enough to keep you excited and prepared to take whatever steps the future presented you.
After finishing up in the bathroom, you walked across the hall into the kitchen. You noticed there was one donut left in the box you had purchased for Wayne. ‘What a stinker,’ you thought to yourself as you started brewing a pot of coffee.
“I thought you deserved one too,” A voice spoke up, startling you and interrupting the silence of the trailer.
“Wayne,” You breathed out, the fear morphing into comfort. “I thought you would be asleep by now!”
“I’ll get some shut-eye in a bit, darlin’,” Wayne grumbled. “I was saying that I thought you deserved the other donut for putting up with a sick Eddie. Lord knows that’s no easy task.”
“He was hardly difficult, in fact, I thought he was more agreeable this way,” You said, matter of factly.
“Is he feeling any better?”
“I think so, or at least he seems to be,” You sighed. “He slept through the night, I only woke him up once for medicine. I’ll probably wake him up in a few minutes to give him another dose.”
“I’m so glad you both finally woke up.”
You barked out a laugh. “You and me both! But seriously, do me a favor. I bought some Vitamin C at the store when I was getting supplies for Ed. I know you said you feel fine but will you take it as a preventative?”
“You are being awfully bossy,” Wayne grumbled.
“You Munson men are ridiculous. Take the medicine and I won’t bother you about it. You can even have the other donut as a reward!”
“I’m only doing it for the donut,” Wayne said stomping into the living room to get his mug.
You filled up your mug with freshly brewed coffee while you smirked at the scene unfolding before you. It was interesting seeing two men who had only each other to rely on before you walked in, quickly find the ability to trust that someone was genuinely looking out for their best interest. It was refreshing because you knew how easy it could be for them to both be closed off. As you watched Wayne begrudgingly swallow the Vitamin C-flavored water in a mug, you chuckled before rubbing his shoulder. “Thank you.”
“Yeah, yeah,” He grumbled, rinsing his mug out before grabbing the donut and stomping back into the living room.
Feeling pretty proud of yourself and the way that you were whipping your two favorite Munson men into shape, you got the medicine for Eddie before walking back into his bedroom.
When you walked in, you noticed Eddie still in the same position you left him, cuddling your pillow as if his life depended on it. “Baby,” You whispered, setting the stuff on his nightstand before leaning on the bed and gently touching his face. “Wake up, my handsome boy.”
“Hmm?” Eddie grumbled, full of sleep.
“I need you to wake up for me, baby,” You said again, this time louder. “Let me see your handsome face.”
“Okay,” Eddie said with his eyes closed, turning his body towards your voice with a giant smile on his face. “Kissy.”
“What?” You laughed out, the sleepy boy before you had never talked to you like that in his sleepy state. “You need a kiss?”
“Best medicine,” He mumbled out again. “Feel better.”
“Oh really? My kisses are supposed to be the cure-all now?”
“Yes, they are,” Eddie said before giggling. He stretched his arms out in your direction as he began making the grabby hands motion.
“Okay, since you insist,” You giggled, leaning forward to meet your boyfriend in the middle. Your lips met Eddie’s in a short but sweet kiss, though innocent, it was tender and your heart seemed to melt into your chest.
“See, I’m all better now,” Eddie mumbled when you both pulled away.
“Do you mean that or are you just trying to avoid taking more medicine?”
“What? Me?” Eddie asked, feigning hurt and betrayal. “I would never complain about drinking that Satanic, fake fruit-flavored, concoction.”
“Okay, shut up,” you rolled your eyes as you pushed his shoulder.
“For real though, I think seeing you and getting a kiss from you in the morning is my favorite thing,” Eddie said, grabbing your hands to get your attention. “Kinda makes me excited for the future.”
“And what do you see in our future?”
“Good morning kisses every day, or I die,” Eddie said dramatically. He was being a drama queen but the realization that you to both thinking about the future caused a giddy feeling to shoot down your spine.
“I could get behind good morning kisses every day, Eds,” You said. “Only so you don’t die of course.”
“It’s for the greater good,” He agreed and if you could stay in this moment with Eddie for the rest of your life, it would be enough.

Dec. 13th: Comfort in His Voice
Day 13: Laundry Day/Just Can’t Sleep
Guys, I’ve made it to Day THIRTEEN!! of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge!
Warnings: Maybe Swearing, *Slight* Allusions to Smut (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)  Word Counts: 0.8k+ Words Pairings: Steve Harrington x Reader
The relationship with Steve, though new, felt natural in a way that brought us both comfort. So much so that sleeping over felt like second nature. It was not often that we found ourselves in separate beds. And even though I still lived at my parent’s house, we ended up splitting the nights pretty equally between our houses. Even though Steve was concerted at first he began to realize that my parents understood that we were both adults and we stayed respectful of their boundaries. Physical intimacy was always something I thought you found within sex. I realized though, the physical intimacy that I craved the most was feeling the weight of his body pressed against mine, no sex on the horizon, just comfort from each other’s touch.
There was something so beautiful in recognizing that, while the sex was extraordinary, it was not the most important part of the relationship. It didn’t compare to knowing that your emotional needs were being met and that you were an equal in the relationship.
I struggled with falling asleep on nights when we found ourselves at separate houses. I craved the comfort and feeling only Steve could provide when we shared a bed. Tonight, Steve was taking Robin and Eddie to a dive bar in the neighboring town, I decided to stay home because I had to work early the next day. But here it was, 1:30 in the morning with no sleep in my future. The bar had to have been closed or close to closing so I took my chances in calling Steve, hoping his voice would help me find comfort.
After six rings, I heard a voice on the other end, “Hello?”
“Stevie?”
“Baby,” He sighed out. “What’s wrong?”
“I couldn’t sleep,” I whispered in the receiver. “Missed you too much. How was your night?”
“I missed you too, baby,” He echoed. “Robin went crazy, the alcohol she drank tonight must have given her a personality change because she suddenly had the most confidence known to woman-kind.”
“Really?” I questioned, giggling at his excitement. “What happened?”
“She had three shots and decided that she found the love of her life, she walked right up to this woman, and within a few minutes they were making out, in front of everyone!”
“No way that was Robin,” I argued. She was a comically shy person in public but with our group of friends she was exceptionally outgoing, I was so happy to hear about her willingness to believe in herself.
“Oh yeah, so she left with her about an hour later and Eddie decided that he was going to sing karaoke but he was also three shots deep and it didn’t take long for them to kick him off the stage because he was hogging the mic,” Steve said, beginning to laugh at the memory he was sharing. “He took a few more sad shots and then I gathered him up and took him home.”
“Wow, that’s a quick night for you guys,” I continued whispering. “Did you have fun at least?”
“Oh yeah, I did,” Steve reassured me. “I would have had more fun with you there to make fun of Eddie with me.”
“You need to be nicer to him, be a better wingman,” I reprimanded.
“I know,” Steve sighed into the receiver. “I’ll be better. How was your day today and night?”
“It was fine,” I started. “My boss was on my ass about the new product and its layout for the holidays. I have to finish the setup tomorrow. Dad grilled some hamburgers for dinner and we watched ‘Wheel of Fortune’ after dinner. Some real party animal shit.”
“I hope your day at work goes better today, honey,” Steve said. “If it makes you feel any better, I work the late shift today so I’ll have to do all the restocking and cold calls to remind people to pay their late fees.”
My face fell, I had completely forgotten that Steve was working late today. “It doesn’t make me feel better.”
“Will you do me a favor,” Steve whispered back to you even though he had no reason to be quiet. “Tomorrow, when you leave work, will you come to my place? Stay with me?”
“Yes, please,” I said, releasing a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.
“I just sleep better when we are together,” Steve said, rambling. “You’ll be here for a few hours before I get here but all of your favorite snacks are in the pantry. If you’d rather stay at home, I get it and I could come to you. But if you’d rather have another night apart, I get that-.”
“Stevie,” I interrupted him. “I don’t want another night apart, I sleep better next to you too. In case you forgot, I couldn’t sleep tonight and I called you at almost two in the morning because I missed you so much. After work, I’ll head home to yours, I’ll even make you dinner for when you get home.”
“I love you,” Steve mumbled into the receiver. I could tell that sleep was starting to creep up on him. “I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.”
“I love you too, handsome,” I echoed. “Get some sleep, I’ll see you tomorrow.” Tonight though sleep came slowly, I found comfort in his words and that would be enough.

Dec. 6th: I sleep better when you're with me
Here is day SIIIIIIIX of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge!
Warnings: Swearing, Allusions to Smut (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)   Word Counts: 1.5k+ Words Pairings: Steve Harrington x Reader
Maybe I should have been more honest with Steve when I asked him to come over and bake cookies with my family and me. As it has always been my favorite holiday tradition, I just wanted to share that piece of my life with him. We had been friends for years but being strictly friends meant that we would celebrate those beloved traditions with our immediate families only. A relationship, a real relationship, calls for change. It calls for a shift in the dynamics of the relationship and an integration of family when possible.
“But why does it have to be now?” Steve groaned, dropping his head into my neck to hide. “Does your Dad even know that we are dating, officially?”
“Well no, I figured we would share the news when you came over this afternoon. I’m sure they already assumed since I’ve been staying with you so often,” I reassured, running my hands through Steve’s hair. “And my parents have always loved you, why are you so worried?”
“Because now it matters, honey,” Steve whispered, peering up at me with hair-covered eyes. “Let me be the one to tell him, please?”
“Oh my god, Steve,” I grumbled. I could not believe this boy. We had known each other most of our lives and my parents have watched him grow up. He was not some stranger with dangerous baggage that my parents would disapprove of. “If you’re that scared, we don’t have to tell them. I just thought you would like to join in some of our holiday traditions with me. You aren’t asking my dad for my hand in marriage.”
“Yet.”
“Honestly, not even if you’re that scared of him,” I barked back.
“Baby,” Steve said, his eyes softening as he stepped towards me. “I’m sorry. I’m being irrational about this. I’ll talk to your dad and I’ll be fine. I’m just anxious because, for some reason, parents never find me good enough now that I’m not some preppy college kid.”
“You don’t have to pretend to be anyone with me or my family, Stevie,” I mumbled pulling him closer. “My parents have loved you forever and I love you so much. You have nothing to worry about.”
“I love you too, honey,” Steve said, pulling me in for a quick kiss. Pulling away with a small sigh, he grabbed my hand before mumbling, “Let’s do this.”
Together, we walked up the driveway to the front door. Steve took another deep breath, his anxiety just radiating off of him. I never want him to feel inadequate or not enough in our relationship, God knows this poor boy has been through his fair share of shitty relationships.
“Sweetie,” I heard from the kitchen. “Is that you?”
“Yeah, Mom,” I called back. “I have Steve with me!”
After taking our shoes off, we walked into the kitchen where my Mom was finishing up dinner and my Dad was sitting at the table drinking a beer. “Steve, how have you been?” He asked, setting his beer down.
“You got this, handsome,” I mumbled in his ear, ushering him towards the empty chair next to my dad. I moved to the side to give them space, catching up with my mom. With his anxiety bubbling up to the surface, I didn’t want to crowd him and make it worse.
“Honey, come out to the garage with me, I need help grabbing the baking supplies. They’re in the outside fridge.” I followed my mom outside before she stopped, turning around to face me. “Is Steve asking your Dad for your hand in marriage?”
“What the hell, Mom,” I said before laughing. “No, we’re only 20 years old. He’s telling him that we are officially dating.”
“Were you not before?” She questioned.
“I told him he had nothing to worry about, I didn’t know you guys already assumed we were dating?”
“Eh, it was inevitable,” She said, chuckling. We grabbed the stuff we would need to bake later tonight before heading back into the kitchen. Knowing about Steve’s anxiety from telling my dad was causing me anxiety to think about him alone, suffering.
“Hi,” I chirped, walking back into the kitchen and setting everything on the table. I walked over to Steve, planting a kiss on the top of his head. “How is it going in here?”
“Steve thought he was breaking some crazy news story when he told me you two were dating. I told him I thought you two had been an item since 2nd grade.”
I snorted as I wrapped my arms around Steve. “That would have saved us some trouble.”
The rest of the night went by quickly, eating dinner together before prepping the cookies to bake the next morning. Steve was in charge of the sugar cookie dough, while I prepped the Ritz crackers with peanut butter to dip in chocolate the next morning. After three hours of prep, and hands that felt like they were going to fall off, we decided to call it a wrap on the night’s project. I grab a kitchen towel to dry my hands before tossing it to Steve. “Are you ready for bed, Stevie?”
“Yeah, I’m beat,” Steve grumbled, walking the short distance over to where I was standing before wrapping his arms around my waist, and leaning his head on my chest. “I’ll head out soon. What time should I come back in the morning?”
“What?”
“Tomorrow, what time should I be back to finish the baking with you guys?”
I step back to look at Steve. “Why would you leave just to come back early tomorrow? I want you to stay.”
“But your Dad-“
“Thought we had been dating since 2nd grade and we have had so many sleepovers before,” I interrupt, rolling my eyes. “And besides, I sleep better when you’re with me.”
“Baby,” Steve says to me, his eyes softening as he steps forward to bring me close to him again. “Let’s go to bed.”
We walked up the stairs to my bedroom. My parents slept on the first floor, they claimed they wanted to ‘better protect me from break-ins’ but it was really so they could tell if I was sneaking out. It was a win-win for me though to not have my parents sleep on the same floor as me with my boyfriend. We quickly began getting ready for bed, washing our faces, and brushing our teeth. It felt so domestic and natural. Suddenly, saving up to move out became a goal I wanted to achieve, quickly.
“It feels different to be here now,” Steve muttered, walking into the bedroom and lying on my bed.
“Why? Because you finally have the opportunity to have sex with me in my childhood bedroom?”
“What? No,” He whisper-shouted. “I am not having sex with you at your parents' home!”
“Oh my GOD,” I groaned. What the hell was wrong with this boy? I know he was not a saint. He used to brag about all the women he had been with. The way he was so scared of what my parents might think was starting to concern me. What was he so afraid of? Was it me? “What is your problem then?”
Steve sighed, getting under the covers of the bed and motioning me to follow suit. “I have always wanted to have sex with you here, baby.”
“Uh-huh.”
“You know your parents are the first adults that actually made it a point to talk to me and ask me how I was?”
“Steve-“
“No, please,” Steve cut you off, his hand coming up to touch my hair. “You’re my best friend, but you’re also the love of my life. Your family means almost as much to me as you do. So I’m sorry if I’m worrying about their approval too much. I don’t want to let them down, not when they’re the only parental figures that have given a damn about me.”
“I’m sorry I’ve been pushing your feelings away tonight, baby,” I mumbled out. “They really do love you though. More than you can even imagine. And I’m so happy you have this relationship with them. I genuinely think my dad believes we started dating in 2nd grade.”
“Thank you.” Steve leaned down to place his lips on my forehead before whispering, “If it makes you feel any better, all I’m thinking about is fucking you in this room.”
“Can we?” I groaned out, running my hands down his torso.
“Absolutely not,” Steve barked out a laugh.
“Screw you,” I huffed out. “At least I do it for you, I guess.”
“Never doubt that, baby. You’ll always do it for me,” Steve said, tightening his hold around my body. “Wait, it just really hit me. This is the first time we’ve shared a bed at your house.”
“Yeah, because someone always needed to be the gentleman and slept on the floor,” I grumbled. “You could have been sharing a bed with me for years, Harrington.”
“I know, I should have fucking talked to your dad sooner,” Steve said, causing me to giggle and snuggle closer.

Dec. 14th: Let’s Play House
Day 14: Morning Routine/Handiwork Around the House
It’s time for day fourteen of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge!
Warnings: Swearing, *Slight* Allusions to Smut (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)  Word Counts: 1.3k+ Words Pairings: Eddie Munson x Reader
You and Eddie had finally agreed, after the New Year you two would begin saving up money to move in to your own apartment with hopes that it would be by at least the middle of summer. With Eddie’s income working at the record shop and the money you’ve been saving from your job as a para in a school, you would finally save enough money to make a deposit on a studio or one bedroom apartment in Hawkins.
“I think we should practice living together,” Eddie randomly blurted as he played on your bed.
“You mean compared to what we have already been doing?” You said before laughing. “We already stay at each other’s places every night.”
“Yeah, that’s true,” Eddie agreed, sitting up and putting his head on his hands. He stayed quiet. You could tell something was beginning to eat away at him, it wasn’t in his nature to have long bouts of silence.
“What are you thinking about,” You said, walking to the edge of the bed to sit down before nudging your shoulder against his.
“I really want to have a trial run of living together, like actually,” Eddie said, turning his body to face yours. “People fall out of love all the time and the find little things they hate about each other because of their living arrangements. I don’t want that with us.”
“Baby,” You whispered, now turning your body to face Eddie’s as you looked into his eyes. “We have been living a trial run, but if you want to make it feel more official, I can see if my Mom and Macy would give us the weekend alone? They might be able to go visit my grandparents or something.”
“We could decorate the house together for Christmas,” Eddie said, his eyes lighting up with excitement as he thought about the possibilities.
“I swear on my heart, I will not fall out of love with you based on your living habits. Shit, I already know how messy you are, Eddie Munson,” You mumbled, pulling his head towards you to press a kiss to his nose. “But if it will ease your mind, I’d love a little domestic moment between us.”
The next day you had asked your mom if she would be okay with giving you and Eddie the space for a “domesticated trial run,” as your mom was calling it. She eagerly agreed but Macy was extremely hurt.
“Why don’t you guys want me here with you?” Macy asked Eddie the night they were getting ready to leave.
“Sweet girl,” Eddie sighed, his eyes widening as he tried to determine the best way to approach this conversation. “You know we both love you right?”
When Macy acknowledged Eddie’s question, he continued, “We want to live together sometime soon in a place that is our own home that you can visit us in. We want to pretend that we are living together alone for a few days to make sure we’ll be okay. I need to know if you sister farts in her sleep or not.”
Eddie winked at you and your mom as Macy giggled at the word fart. “She does,” Macy said as she looked over at you before laughing harder.
“You’re such little traitor,” You said, stalking towards your sister to wrap her in a hug. “Be good this weekend, we’ll see you soon!”
“Have a good weekend, my lovelies,” Your mom said before she wrangled Macy into the car and drove away.
“Soooo,” You whispered, making sure the car was out of eyesight before turning to Eddie. “We’re all alone, in a big house, what ever should we do?”
“I want to fix the ceiling fan in Macy’s room,” Eddie said, before turning towards the house and beginning his walk back.
“What!” You shouted. “We are home alone and that’s what you want to do?”
“You’re incredibly sexy, baby,” Eddie said, chuckling. “And we’ll have plenty of time for that later, let me be the man of the house for a few hours.”
“I can not believe you,” You gawked. “Okay, go be the man of the house.”
Fist pumping the air, Eddie ran into the house and up the stairs to Macy’s room. As you began to follow him up the stairs, you could hear him banging around.
“Eddie, what the fuck are you doing?” You questioned as you walked into the room. Spread before you were tools that you had never seen before. Eddie had a pencil behind his ear and an empty tool belt on his waist. “You were left alone for less than two minutes!”
“Oh, I had all of this stuff ready when Macy and your mom left,” Eddie said, shrugging. “Can you go get me a ladder?”
“Jesus Christ,” You mumbled, walking out of the room to grab the ladder from the garage. After finding the ladder, you began carrying it up the stairs. As you approached the stairs, you could hear a faint singing sound coming from Macy’s room.
“We’ll know for the first time, if we’re evil or divine,” Eddie sang as you walked in to the bedroom. Placing the ladder against the wall, you walked over to Eddie and gently grabbed his face to press a kiss against his lips.
“Dio?”
“Dio,” He agreed, kissing you again. “Thank you for the ladder, I’m going to try and fix this fan now.”
“Mm,” You mumbled as you watched your boyfriend start climbing the ladder with a look of concentration. Quickly, the idea of Eddie being a little domestic handyman began to grow on you. There was the man of your dreams, putting in manual labor to fix your little sister’s ceiling fan. And, he was wearing grey sweatpants, your domestic dream. “You look incredibly sexy up there with your work face on,” You said, smirking up at the curly-headed boy.
“You think I’m sexy up here?”
“It’s definitely working for me,” You answered, proceeding to wink.
“What about when I do this,” Eddie said, flexing as he turned the wrench, tightening the fan to the ceiling.
“Yeah, baby,” You said, giggling at his macho display. “My big strong handyman!”
He chuckled as he finished fixing the fan. Before long, Eddie climbed down the ladder and jumped off the last step before dusting off his hands and presenting you with jazz hands. “I did it!”
“Macy is going to be so excited when they get home on Sunday!”
“Now imagine, five years from now, we’re married and our first child’s little dangly thing from their crib is loose. I’ll be able to fix it because that’s way easier than a ceiling fan,” Eddie said, matter-of-factly. There was no way to argue with his logic, fixing a mobile.
“We’re married in five years? With a baby?” You questioned, stuck on the fact that he was thinking so far ahead and he spoke so sure of your future.
“Well I’d like to think so,” Eddie said, his neck and cheeks heating up with a soft pink blush. “I’m pretty confident in our love.”
“Oh, my handsome boy,” You gushed. “Me too. If you’re so confident, why were you so worried about our ability to live together successfully?”
“Oh, I wasn’t,” Eddie said, shrugging. “I just wanted an excuse to show you how great it’s going to be when we do live alone. There’s nothing you could do, even farting in your sleep which you definitely do, that would make me fall out of love with you. But I also had to prove that I am capable of fixing anything.”
“I hardly think tightening a ceiling fan equates to the ability to fix anything,” You scoffed, before smiling at Eddie. “You’re sneaky but I love you. I’m excited for this weekend alone too.”
“C’mon, let’s go practice playing house,” Eddie said, scooping you up in his arms as you squealed.
“When you say, play houses do you mean?”
“Yeah, I’m gonna rock your world, baby,” Eddie said, huskily before dropping you on your bed.

Dec. 4th: Wear My Clothes Forever
Day 4: Borrowing Clothes/Getting a Pet Together
Here is day FOUR of @comp-lady’s December writing challenge!
Warnings: Swearing, SMUT (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)   Word Counts: 1.2k+ Words Pairings: Steve Harrington x Reader
Author’s Note: Yesterday I wrote in the third person, today I am going to try the first person. Again, it’s not something I am used to so if you have any tips or critique, please send them my way! <3 Also, this is the first time I’ve written any kind of smut in a while and it feels like the most awkward and cringe thing I’ve ever written so please be kind. :)
Dating Steve Harrington after being his friend for years seemed to only require a simple shift. There were differences, of course. For one, I was no longer eyeing him from a distance. I could kiss him anytime I felt like it and I could openly admire the man I loved without fear of rejection. But underneath it all, he was still my best friend.
“Baby,” I heard Steve call from the kitchen as I walked into his house. His parents were once again gone as they had been absent for the past month.
“Hi, Stevie,” I called back, taking off my shoes before entering the kitchen. “I’ve missed you today."
“Yeah?” Steve asked, pulling me into him for a kiss. As soon as his lips touched mine, my body melted into him. As he pulled away, Steve mumbled, “I think I’ve missed you more.”
“Agree to Disagree, Harrington,” I said, pulling him back in for another kiss. Instead of a welcome home, there was a sense of longing an urgency that only he could fix. Steve understood, swiping his tongue across my bottom lip, asking for more. As I pulled him closer to me, slightly parting my mouth to welcome him in. With our heavy breathing mixing together, I could feel the need radiating off of him. His hands snaked underneath my shirt to feel my skin. “Baby,” I mumbled against his lips, leaning back just enough to break the kiss.
“What did you just call me?” Steve questioned, leaning back fully, and opening his eyes to look at me.
“Baby.”
“Fuck,” Steve moaned, his face heating up in a pink blush. “You’ve never called me that before.”
“I don’t have to say that, I’m sorry, it just slipped out,” I said, instantly feeling a wave of insecurity flood my body.
“No, honey,” Steve said, already wide eyes somehow getting even wider. “I don’t think I ever want to hear you call me anything else ever again.”
“Oh really?” I said, laughing as relief now took over my body. “The nickname has that kind of power over you?”
There was something so empowering about this encounter. To know that I could do something that made him weak or feely needy, changed everything. And it made sense, here in front of me was a boy who just wanted to be loved and I was so happy to be the one to shower him with it.
“You have that power over me.”
“Oh Stevie,” I sighed, wrapping my arms around his slim waist. “How about we get changed into some cozy clothes, order some takeout, and watch a movie?”
“That sounds like a dream, babe.”
Together, we walked upstairs to Steve’s bedroom which had quickly become my second bedroom as often as I slept over. Falling into a familiar routine, Steve walked over to his dresser drawers and pulled out a pair of boxers and a t-shirt for me before pulling a pair of sweats out for himself.
“I’m not sure I’ll ever get over the fact that I am the only one who gets to see you wearing your grey sweatpants and no shirt.”
“The sweatpants do it for you, huh, babe?”
“Oh my god, yes,” I groaned before quickly stripping to throw on the clothes Steve got out for me. “It might be the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.”
“No,” Steve said, staring at me, his gaze darkening. “You, wearing my shirt is hands down the sexiest thing this world has  seen.”
“Yeah, baby?”
“Fuck,” Steve breathed out, taking a quick step towards me. “Can I prove it to you?”
“I think you better,” I mumble, then moan when he grabs my face, bringing our lips together in a searing kiss. Breaking the kiss, Steve sinks to his knees, looking up at me with lustful eyes.
“Can I?”
“Please,” I whispered. Steve stood up, guiding me backward towards his bed before pushing my (his) shirt up above my hips to grab my panties. My pulse speeds up. Steve stopped moving, eyes darkening as he continued raking his eyes across my body. “What?” I question, leaning up on my elbows to try and understand what has thrown him off.
“You’re so God damn beautiful, baby,” Steve growled as he spread my legs, causing me to clench my legs together at his sudden roughness unconsciously. Before I could respond, he took this opportunity to begin peppering wet kisses up my thighs. His hands glide up my torso before cupping my breasts. Heat rips through me and my hips arch up as I beg for the friction to release some of the pressure building.
“Stay still baby, be good for me,” he whispers, looking up at me with his big brown eyes as he reaches down to hold my hips in place before pressing his lips against my clit.
“Shit,” I moaned, not expecting the touch. “Please, Stevie, I need it so bad.”
Before I could beg any more, Steve swirls his tongue around my clit before sucking gently causing me to arch up, grinding my pussy on his face. Steve drags a finger up my leaking pussy, before looking at me, asking for permission. As I nod my head, he thrusts his finger in, curling upward to reach that spongey spot that had me clenching around his fingers.
“More, baby.” And then Steve added another finger, my hands threading through his hair to ground myself in the euphoria as I chased my high. “I’m so close, Stevie, don’t stop!”
And he didn’t. I’m gasping for air, writhing on the bed, as Steve continues relentlessly eating me out. “Fuck, fuck, I’m coming,“ I scream as the orgasm comes. It hits me like a tsunami. A giant wave crashes over me with small flutters of shocks coursing through me as my body relaxes and begins coming back down.
“I changed my mind, you, fucked out like this, is the sexiest thing I have ever seen,” Steve said before crawling up and kissing me. “Stay right here baby, let me get a towel.”
“Wait,” I said, grabbing onto his arm. “What about you, can I return the favor?”
“No, baby,” Steve chuckled. “I got off to you, I wasn’t lying when I said that was the hottest thing.”
“Oh my god, you dirty boy,” I yelled out, as Steve walked into his ensuite to grab the towel.
“What can I say,” he said, coming back into the bedroom before taking the warm washcloth to wipe away the mess. “You do it for me, honey.”
“I love you, baby.”
“And now I’m hard again,” Steve groaned, throwing the rag in his dirty clothes basket as I let out a chuckle. At this point, I was unsure how we were both so clueless before as to how the other felt when he was so open with his feelings and love.
“Should we order some dinner and make our way downstairs?”
“Only if you promise to wear only my clothes for the rest of our lives."
“How about I promise to wear only your clothes for the rest of the night? I’m not sure my boss would like to see me in your shirt and panties.”
“You’re right, you in my clothes is for my eyes only,” Steve grumbled, rolling onto his side and pulling me into him. “And I love you too, honey. What do you think about Chinese for dinner tonight?”
“Chinese sounds great,” I said, wrapping my arms around Steve’s waist and raising my head in the crook of his neck. And finally, things made sense.

Dec. 2nd: A Metal Christmas Concert
Day 2: Helping each other with Chores/Going to a concert or a play together
Here is day two of @comp-lady’s December writing challenge! It’s the farthest I have ever gotten on a writing prompt challenge so this is a very exciting time. I’m feeling very inspired right now! :) Please leave any critique (in a nice way because I'm sensitive) but I would love feedback to become a better writer. <3
Warnings: Swearing (I think that’s it for this one, if not, let me know?) Word Counts: 1.6k+ Words Pairings: Eddie Munson x Reader
“What do you say about accompanying me to a special event tonight?” Y/n asked as she stopped in front of a certain curly-headed boy’s locker.
“I would love to accompany you to a special event tonight, what’s the occasion?” Eddie responded as he opened his locker to grab his English notebook.
“I have these tickets to a concert tonight for an artist that I know you’d love to see,” Y/n responded to not give any important information away. She reached down, intertwining her hands with Eddie’s pulling him towards Mrs. O’Donnell’s class.
“Fuck yeah baby, do I know them?”
“You definitely know them,” Y/n said, standing on her tiptoes to press a kiss to Eddie’s cheek before finding her desk. “And I think they’re pretty metal.”
“Yeah?” Eddie questioned, his mind feeling fuzzy and his cheeks warming up at her touch. “I can’t wait to see this concert then, baby.”
“Quiet down, students,” Mrs. O’Donnell interrupted. “Take a seat, Mr. Munson, we do not have all day.”
“You got it,” Eddie grumbled before sitting down as y/n giggled beside him.
As the school day finished, Y/n gave Eddie a quick kiss before quickly walking out of the school to get into her car. “Please be at my house by 6, Eds! I just need to get ready!”
“I’ll be there at 5:50, sweets!” Eddie responded as Y/n closed her car door to drive off.
As soon as she got home, Y/n ran up to her bedroom to change for the concert. “Sissy, which dress am I supposed to wear?” A soft voice said from her doorway.
“Give me one second, sweet girl! Let me finish getting dressed and I’ll meet you in your room to help you get your special dress on !”
Y/n dressed quickly and went into the restroom to quickly refresh her makeup from the day. Tonight was her five-year-old sister, Macy’s, Christmas recital. They had been learning Christmas carols and jingles for the past few weeks at school and she knew how excited her sister was for this performance.
“Okay, love bug! Let’s get you dressed,” Y/n said, clapping her hands as she walked into her sister’s room. “Mom is going to meet us at the school so we need to get dressed and eat a snack before we go. And I might also have one surprise for you too if you’re really good!”
“A surprise?! What is it sissy?!”
“Let’s get dressed first! I can’t tell you the surprise because it’s supposed to be a secret, silly goose!”
Y/n walked to her sister’s closet, pulling out a red and green sparkly dress that her Mom bought specifically for this occasion, and Christmas of course. Then, she reached into her sister’s sock drawer to grab the frilly socks to wear under her adorable Mary Jane’s.
“Here you go love bug,” Y/n said, spinning around to her sister. “Let’s get you all dressed up and fed so we can go to your concert!”
“Do you think I could be famous for my concerts one day?” Macy asked. “I want to be a rockstar like Eddie!”
“Macy Mace, I’m sure if you ask the rockstar himself, he might tell you all of his secrets so that you can be a rockstar just like him,” Y/n assured her sister as she got a PB&J ready for her. She was so happy with the fact that her Mom and sister got along with Eddie and they loved him almost as much as she did. As Macy began to munch on her sandwich, they were interrupted by a knock at the door.
“Oh Macy girl, you better get the door, I think it might be your surprise!”
The little girl squealed before dropping her sandwich down on the table and running towards the front door. “Eddieeeee!” She yelled when the door was opened.
“Macy girl!” Eddie responded back just as enthusiastically.
“I missed you so much, do you like my pretty Christmas dress?” Macy asked Eddie as she twirled in front of him.
“You look like a sugarplum fairy, love bug,” Eddie said, his eyes crinkling with a smile as he repeated Y/n’s nickname for her sister.
“Macy Mace, let’s go finish your sandwich so we can go,” Y/n said, leaning on the doorway of the kitchen to watch the interaction unfold.
“Hey baby,” Eddie said, walking towards Y/n as Macy ran back into the kitchen.
“Hi,” Y/n whispered, reaching out to wrap her arms around Eddie before leaning up and giving him a kiss.
“Mm,” Eddie groaned, before breaking the kiss. “Are we dropping your sister off before the show tonight?”
“No baby, she’s coming with us! Ready to head out, love bug?”
“Yes, sissy!”
“Then let’s go, my loves!” Y/n yelled, grabbing her sister’s coat to help her put it on. After Macy was dressed, Y/n put on her own coat and grabbed Eddie’s hand. “Eds, we have to take my car so that Macy has her car seat. I’ll drive there if you drive us back?”
“Of course, baby,” Eddie mumbled, placing a quick peck on Y/n’s lips as he opened her door for her. “I’ll help Mace into her seat if you want to get the car started and warm?”
“Sounds like a plan,” Y/n said, sitting down in the driver’s seat. After Macy was situated and Eddie was in the passenger seat and buckled, Y/n took off down the road towards Hawkins Elementary School where the kindergarten class was set to perform with the rest of the grade school children. Once they were parked, Y/n looked over at Eddie to find a confused look in his eye.
“Why are we at the Elementary School?”
“To see my concert, duh,” Macy responded as she quickly unbuckled herself to get out of the car. “Sissy, let’s go, I have to make it to my classroom right now!”
“Okay, sweetie, let’s go,” Y/n said, unbuckling herself and getting out of the car. “Eds, can you go find three seats? My mom is supposed to meet us here so I promised to save her a seat.”
“Yeah, of course,” Eddie responded, still looking confused.
After dropping Macy off at her class, Y/n walked towards the auditorium to find Eddie. Due to the fact that he was wearing his normal attire of jeans, a Black Sabbath tee, and his Hellfire Club jean jacket, Y/n spotted him right away. “So the metal concert you wanted to take me to is your five-year-old sister’s Christmas program.”
“She promised me that it was a metal performance,” Y/n said, smiling as Eddie wrapped his arm around her.
“I was prepared for some Dio cover band outside of Hawkins, I’m sorry I’m dressed like a freak for this. If I had known, I would dressed more appropriately,” Eddie whispered, his insecurities oozing off of him.
“Baby, no,” Y/n said, turning to look at Eddie. “We don’t want you to change how you look. Macy was so excited for you to be here today. Do you know what she told me before she even knew you were coming? She asked me if I thought she could be famous for her concerts one day like you, Eds. We love you. You’re not a freak, these people just suck. I want you here just the way you are.”
“I love you,” Eddie said, putting his face in the crook of y/n’s neck and holding her tight.
“And I love you,” Y/n echoed, tightening her grip around Eddie.  Before long, Y/n's mom showed up and the lights darkened as the kids walked out on stage to begin singing. 45 minutes later, after each class sang a couple of Christmas carols, the students were escorted off the stage. “Please pick up your students at the classrooms. That ends our Annual Christmas Recital, thank you for coming and please get home safely!”
“Honey, can you and Eddie bring Macy home? I need to go back to the hospital and finish my shift, I should be home around 10 o’clock tonight,” Y/n’s mom said as she began to pass out hugs.
“Of course, Mom,” Y/n responded, grabbing Eddie’s hand as they walked out of the auditorium. Together, they walked down the school’s hallways to Macy’s classroom. As soon as they spotted the door, they could hear the five-year-old shouting.
“No! I’m telling you, it was a metal performance!”
“No, it wasn’t,” One of her classmates responded. “Christmas songs are not metal.”
“Well they won’t be with that attitude,” Macy responded, as she looked over, she spotted her sister and Eddie in the doorway, her eyes lighting up. “Eddie, do you think Christmas songs can be metal?”
“When you perform them, love bug? They’re the most metal songs I’ve ever heard,” Eddie responded as he walked over to Macy and picked her up.
“See, Clara, I told you so,” Macy remarked. “See you later!”
Eddie, with Macy in his arms, walked over to Y/n before putting an arm around her shoulders and leading the crew out of the school and towards Y/n’s car.
“You did an incredible job tonight, little Miss,” Y/n said as she sat in the passenger seat and Edie buckled Macy in.
“Thank you sissy,” Macy said. “Eddie, how many times do I have to perform a concert before I am a rockstar like you?”
“Oh Mace,” Eddie said, his eyes becoming misty as he smiled. “You are already a rockstar, you’re probably a bigger rocker than I am!”
You think so?” Macy squealed. “Do you think I can perform with you, then?”
“I think that can be arranged,” Eddie responded as Y/n took his hand in hers and squeezed it.
“I love you,” Y/n whispered to the boy with shaky breaths beside her his emotions becoming too much.
“And I love you, baby.”
“What about me? I love you sissy and I love you Eddie,” Macy responded, feeling left out as they turned onto Y/n’s driveway.
“And I love you too, Macy girl,” Eddie responded, putting the car in park and turning to look at the five-year-old with soft eyes. “I love you guys so much.”

Time to Realize (Pt. 5)
Warnings: Swearing, Grinding (does that need a warning?) If there’s anything else let me know!
Word Counts: 2k+ Words Important Note: The Greek mythology throughout this piece does not accurately or wholly represent Greek mythology to its fullest extent. Some things are changed for the sake of the story. One major plot point is the relationship between Hades and the rest of Mt. Olympus. With that being said, their relationship isn’t family-oriented, but Hades is welcome throughout Mt. Olympus and everyone gets along enough to be tolerated.
Hand in hand, the duo walked up the driveway of the dingy frat house. The bass of the DJ system was making the house feel as if it were also moving to the beat of the song. “Are you doing okay, bub?” Y/n asked, looking up at Harry as she felt his grip on her hand tighten. “Yeah, I just need to remind myself on occasion that you’re still right here. Beside me,” He responded, more so to himself. “I’m not used to these kinds of things. I’m used to being surrounded by dead souls, not living ones.” “I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere,” Y/n said back to him before leaning up and pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. Pulling on his hand, y/n continued leading Harry into the house where they saw people dressed up as ketchup and mustard, cats, and the traditional nurses or prisoners. After passing all of the drunken college students and making their way into the cramped house, Y/n spotted Christine dressed up as a sexy nun talking to a sexy cat. “Chris,” Y/n shouted as she walked up to her best friend. “Holy shit,” Christine shouted back when she saw Y/n walk up. “You look like a fucking goddess. Way too good for a mediocre frat party!” “Thank you,” Y/n said before blushing. “You look sexy as hell too, very ironic of you.” “That was the point, sister. Harry! You look like Mr. Tall, Dark, and Mysterious,” Christine said. “That look definitely suits you!”
“Thanks, Chris, do you guys want anything to drink?”“I would love another drink,” Christine shouted, flipping her now empty cup upside down.
“Me too, I’ll drink whatever,” Y/n said before kissing Harry’s cheek and pushing him in the direction of the drinks. “C’mon Chris, let’s go dance!”
Y/n grabbed Christine’s hand dragging her down towards the dance floor. As a DaBaby song played in the background, Y/n and Christine began grinding on each other, letting go of any early semester stress. Soon, DaBaby faded into Drake and both girls were getting thirsty. “Where’s Harry? I thought he was getting us some drinks,” Christine shouted to Y/n.
“He was, I’ll go look for him,” Y/n said as she pulled her hair onto her left shoulder. After climbing the steps of the living room that was converted into a dance floor for the occasion, she noticed him standing by the drink table. The closer she got though, she noticed a girl dressed up as a maid holding on to his bicep.
“Oh fuck no,” Y/n mumbled mostly to herself before walking up to Harry, grabbing his face and kissing him. Hard. As soon as he realized it was her, he instantly relaxed, kissing back just as hard. Though she couldn’t say the words just yet, y/n wanted to convey everything she felt in that kiss; passion, love, and even possessiveness.
“Um excuse me,” the maid said, pulling y/n off of Harry. “We were in the middle of something.” “Back the fuck off,” Y/n said, turning her attention fully on the girl standing in front of her. “He’s mine.” “He didn’t say he had a girlfriend when we were talking,” the girl shouted back. “That’s a fucking lie, I pointed it out instantly,” Harry said, making his presence known. “Yeah, I don’t believe a fucking word you say, honey. And honestly? I’m fucking crazy and if you don’t walk away now you’re going to see firsthand how crazy I get when I’m disrespected,” Y/n said, smiling sweetly at the girl.“Whatever, I don’t need this shit,” the maid said before walking away. “I’ll find someone to fuck without the baggage.”
“Baby, that was so fucking hot,” Harry groaned. “You should get jealous more often.”
“Fucking Hades,” Y/n mumbled, ripping the two drinks from Harry’s hands before walking off to find Christine.
“Wait a minute,” Harry said, gently grabbing onto Y/n’s elbow to get her attention. “Did you just call me Hades?”
“Yeah, I fucking did. Is there a problem?” Y/n asked, turning back around to give Harry her undivided attention.
“You’ve never called me that before.”
“That is your name isn’t it?” “So we just use our God names when we’re mad at each other now?” “I’m not mad at you, Harry,” Y/n said, releasing a frustrated breath. “She had her hands all over you. And I don’t typically feel the need to be possessive towards anyone I’m dating but fuck! I hate this feeling so much!” “Baby,” Harry said, reaching forward and running his hands down the length of her arms, stopping at the solo cups in her hands. “You have nothing to be upset about. I love you, only you. You can show me I’m yours anytime and anywhere you want. And you know exactly why you haven’t felt that before--“ “Hey, Y/n?” A familiar voice interrupted. “Can I talk to you?” “What the fuck do you want, Rowan?” Y/n shouted, the pent-up emotions from the frustration of the girl talking to Harry and her explosive fight with Rowan finally coming to the surface. “I just wanted to apologize,” Rowan said, stepping backward before looking down at his feet. “To whom?” Y/n questioned. “Me, for calling me the fucking campus slut, to Harry for always having a vendetta against him, or both of us, for trying to ruin our relationship before it even began.” “Y/n, baby,” Harry started as he continued running his hands up her arms. “You’re upset, I don’t think you want the conversation with Rowan to be like this. You miss him, don’t take out your anger or frustration that’s toward me, on him.”“Fuck,” Y/n sighed. “You’re right. I’m sorry Rowan, I’m not in the proper headspace for this conversation right now. Can we meet up later this week for coffee or something and talk? I just don’t want to be extra bitchy at you for something you didn’t do.”
“Yeah, I’d like that,” Rowan said, looking back up at the duo. “Thank you, I’ll see you guys later then. Thank you for coming tonight.”
“My frustration is at you for being so incredibly sexy and me for being a possessive bitch. I definitely didn’t intend on being that crazy though,” Y/n said before leaning up, kissing Harry’s cheek for what felt like the twelfth time tonight. Then whispering into his ear, “I’m sorry for being crazy, I’ll make it up to you later. I promise.”
Harry let out a low growl after feeling her words go straight to his groin. “Baby, stop it. I’ve been hard ever since you kissed me earlier, please don’t tease me.”
“Be a good boy for me the rest of the night and I’ll give you a reward,” Y/n said back, winking at Harry before turning back around and walking back towards Christine before Harry could say anything in return. “Took you two long enough,” Christine said once Y/n handed the drink to her. “Yeah, we had to deal with some girl hanging all over Harry.” “What a skank,” Christine said, trying to make her friend feel better about the situation. “what did you do?” “She wasn’t a skank, Chris. I would have tried to hit on H too, he’s hot as fuck,” Y/n said, sticking up for the girl. “But I informed her that he was mine and she needed to respectfully back off.” “Respectfully, uh huh,” Chris said before knocking back the rest of her drink. “I love you both, but I think I’m going to try and dance with that prison guard over there.” Once Christine walked away from the couple, Y/n turned towards Harry grabbing his hand and leading him towards the group of sweaty bodies on the dance floor. “Harry,” Y/n said into Harry’s ear once they made it to the dance floor. “Earlier, you told me that I was the Queen of Darkness. I want to show you just how dirty this queen plays.”
“Oh fuck,” Harry groaned as y/n turned around to start grinding on him.Monday morning y/n walked out of the lecture hall on a mission to get to the campus coffee shop. 8 am lectures were her biggest enemy at the moment and with all the crazy life events that she’s encountered within the last week, school was the last thing on her mind. It almost made her feel there was no point in what she was studying. She knew the myths about Persephone, her mom explained to her what her capabilities were and even how to maximize them. So really, what was the point in studying something she had all the tools to do perfectly anyway?
Right now though, y/n wanted to keep her life as normal as possible. Maybe go to a few house parties and finish college experience. After she was tired of that, she would fulfill her role on Mt. Olympus and with her family. School wasn’t the most important thing anymore but she was not ready to miss out on what her early 20s were supposed to bring. Y/n once thought that life was short, and for the mortals it is, but she was not mortal and she had all the time in the world. There was no better time to enjoy herself than right now.
Y/n walked into her apartment to see her boyfriend sitting on her couch concentrating on writing something down on paper. Silently she closed the door, walking into the kitchen to admire him from a distance. Lips pursed; eyebrows furrowed into a menacing scowl that only she could recognize as determination instead of frustration. A year was quite a long time to study someone with no use for the information. Now though, she could put it to good use. Y/n was mesmerized and honestly, beyond turned on by his hard exterior. “What are you working on, mister,” she said as she let her presence be known. Not expecting her to show up, Harry let out a shriek, throwing his pencil into the air. “What the fuck,” Harry yelled after he finished gathering his bearings. Y/n was squatting on the floor laughing hysterically, “I believe that you just screamed like that.” She said in between her laughing fits. “You can’t just creep up on a man who’s trying to be a good student and get his classwork in order.” “Why do you even continue to do school, if I was the only reason you even came here?” Y/n questioned, nudging his arm with her own. “Ha ha,” Harry said, glaring up at her. “You aren’t the only reason I came to school here.” “Mhm,” she said, looking back down at him. “Of course, I’m not.” “Okay, whatever, you’re right. I continue to do school because I feel like it’s a way to be closer to you and not smother you when you need the space.” “You’re so fucking cute,” Y/n mumbles before climbing into his lap on the couch before growing quiet. “What’s wrong, baby,” Harry asked as he noticed her change in body language. Y/n tensed at his question, squeezing him tighter.
“Will you go do something with me this weekend,” She questioned, mumbling into his neck. “What did you have in mind? We could go to the beach? Maybe I could show you some more of the Underworld? Like maybe your throne?” Y/n quickly sat up, narrowing her eyes at Harry. “Do I really have my own throne or is this a euphemism for your face?” “Oh,” Harry said, his neck growing red. “You definitely have a throne in the Underworld but my face can be your throne anytime.” Y/n paused, her face heating up before shaking her head. “Stop it, mister. I’m getting distracted and I don’t want to chicken out and this is important!” “Okay, I’m ready, ask away.” “Would you want to go with me to Boston…my little sister called me and she really needs me there this weekend, I totally understand if you have more important things going on with the Underworld and all but--“ “Baby,” Harry said, cutting her off mid-sentence. “You have a sister? How come I didn’t know that?" “Well, she’s technically not my sister, obviously. But we grew up together and she’s basically my sister. I love her to pieces but she starts high school next week and she wants me there to help her get ready and I reallywanthertomeetyou.” “What?” “She’s getting ready for high school--“ “I heard that part. What did you say at the end?” Harry asked. “I really want her to meet you…”
“Of course, I’ll go to Boston with you this weekend. I love you, remember? I would feel honored to meet your sister.”

Dec. 8th: Weathering the Storm
Day 8: Lazy morning/Comforting them during a storm
I present to you…day eight of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge!
Warnings: Swearing, *slight, very slight, if you squint* Allusions to Smut (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)   Word Counts: 2.3k+ Words Pairings: Steve Harrington x Reader
A/N: I was uninspired to write about a literal storm so I wrote about a small "storm" in the relationship, enjoy! :)
I had known Steve Harrington for years so I was no stranger to his parents' repulsive behavior and treatment towards him. That’s part of the reason we grew so close when we were younger, my parents saw that Steve needed to be cared for and they had enough love to go around. What they failed to see, and what I often had a front-row view of, was how much Steve still tried to make them proud. He just wanted them to see him for who he was. Even if he knew he would be left feeling like a hollowed-out shell of himself afterward.
The holidays always perked him up because he saw it as a chance to try with them again. I knew, after years of watching this happen, that I needed to be there to not only support his decision but be there to catch him if it all went south.
“Babe,” Steve yelled, I could hear him running up my driveway to the front door. I got up, walking to meet him at the door as I heard him continuing to yell my name.
“Hi handsome,” I said, smiling as I opened the door to greet his smiling face. “What’s got you in such a great mood today?”
“My parents are going to be home tonight, I thought it was the perfect time to introduce us as a couple to them!”
His usually cold exterior towards his parents had clearly been a front to help mask the pain and resentment he felt towards their treatment of him. I knew this but I also knew that if I could not be another person in his life that failed to support him. “Okay, baby,” I sighed, trying my best to put on a smile. I wanted to do everything in my power to make sure that this was going to be a good night for Steve. He would get the approval he was looking for and it might not be perfect but it would do.
“They wanted us to meet them at the country club tonight at 7, I figured I could come back around 6:40 to pick you up.”
“That sounds great, Stevie,” I said, stepping forward to wrap my arms around him. “I will be ready then. Shouldn’t you be at work by now?”
“Yes,” Steve said, I could hear him rolling his eyes as he spoke. “Robin is manning the fort so I could come talk to you.”
“Not that I don’t miss you when you’re not here, but you could have just called me,” I said, lifting my head off of his chest to look at him.
“I wanted to see your pretty face for a minute.”
“Okay, you cheeseball, get back to work! Robin is probably going to make you repay her with a giant favor if you take too long.”
“Shit,” Steve grumbled, jumping to run back to his car. As he opened the door, he shouted out, “I love you!”
“Mom,” I called into the house, as I shut the front door. “I need to talk to you.”
My mom, sitting on the couch in the living room perked up. “What is it hon?”
“Steve is telling his parents that we are dating tonight, I don’t know what to do to ensure they don’t find a way to belittle him over us.”
“Oh hon,” My mom sighed, getting up off the couch and walking up towards me. “You can’t prevent their reactions. Be there for Steve regardless. He’s not trying to prove your worthiness, you know that. He’s looking for some validation and approval from them about his choices. They are going to react how they’re going to react, just be there to comfort Steve in whatever way they do.”
“I know,” I mumbled, looking at my feet. “I just want to protect him.” The boy had the biggest heart ever and it was not fair that his parents just ripped it to shreds whenever they decided to make an appearance.
“By supporting him, giving him the love he deserves, you are protecting him. You’re showing him that even if he doesn’t get the kind of love and support from everyone, he gets enough from you and his chosen family to fill the void.”
She was a smart woman, my mother. And of course, she was right. I gave her a quick hug, shaking the feeling of impending doom as I got to work ensuring that this night was going to go well, regardless of whether or not his parents helped with that. I drove to the grocery store, picking out flowers for both Steve and his mom (boys deserve flowers too!).
“Eddie,” I said into my phone, as I was walking the aisles in the grocery store. “What are you doing right now?”
“Dustin and I are discussing new ideas for our next D&D campaign.”
“So you’re not that busy, bring Dusty and come to the grocery store, please!” I quickly said before hanging up the phone, leaving him room to argue. About 10 minutes later, you heard the chatter of both boys as they entered the store.
“Y/n!” Dustin cheered, walking up to you.
“Hi, Dusty! I’ve missed you guys!”
“Why did you want us to meet you here?” Eddie asked as he wrapped you in a hug.
“I need you to go buy me a bottle of Champagne. Steve is introducing me to his parents as his girlfriend tonight and, regardless of if it goes south or not, I want to prepare a nice moment for us afterward.”
“Oh shit,” Dustin said, his eyes widening. “Those assholes always ruin everything.”
“I know,” I grumbled. “I have the money, Eds. I need to buy the other things I found but grab whichever bottle you can get with the $10. Dusty, you can come with me while Eddie grabs that!”
“You just needed to use me for my legal age?” Eddie said, feigning anger, before breaking out in a giant grin. “That’s well done, sweetheart.”
“I know, now hurry up. I’m on a tight schedule here, sweetheart,” I mocked back.
After purchasing the champagne, Eddie and Dustin helped me load everything into the car before wishing me a bit of good luck. With a few hours before Steve was to pick me up, it was time to get ready. I performed an everything shower, picked out a dress that I was sure his parents would approve of, put on my makeup, and quickly dried my hair giving it a blow-out look.
“Honey,” My mom called up the stairs. “Steve is here, looking handsome as ever.”
I ran down the stairs, the champagne securely in my bag and the flowers in my hands. “Baby,” Steve whispered, watching me as I came down the stairs.
“Hi handsome,” I whispered back as I crossed the room to wrap him in a hug. “I got these for you.”
His lip wobbled as he took the flowers from me. “No one has ever gotten me flowers before.”
“And that’s a damn shame, I promise to get you as many flowers as you can hold,” I said, gently grabbing his face to place a kiss on his cheek. “We better get going so we are not late.”
We walked outside, hand in hand, as we walked towards the BMW. Steve opened my door, ever the gentleman, before getting into the driver’s side. The ride to the country club was quiet, I could see how nervous Steve was as he gripped the steering wheel with both hands.
“Hey,” I said quietly, to not disturb the fragile state of the car. “Whatever happens tonight, I love you. You know that, right?”
“I know honey,” Steve said, his lips quirking upwards. “I love you too.”
After pulling into the parking spot, Steve opened my door and we walked into the club hand-in-hand. Spotting his parents quickly, we made our way over. As they spotted us, they both stood up. “Steven,” his mom said, breaking the silence. “It’s so great to see you.”
“Hi mom, dad,” Steve said, acknowledging both of his parents. “You remember Y/n? She is my girlfriend now.”
“Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Harrington, it’s so nice to see you guys again,” I quickly said, noticing my queue from Steve to talk. Finally finding my words, I reached the flowers out towards his mom, “Mrs. Harrington, I brought these for you!”
“Thank you dear,” Mrs. Harrington said. “They are beautiful.”
“Yes, well why don’t we all sit down now,” Mr. Harrington said. “Are you still working at that video store, Steven?”
“Um, yes,” Steve said slowly, the conversation already turning in a negative direction. I placed my hand on his knee, giving it a reassuring squeeze. Steve took a deep breath before continuing before his dad, “I’ve been talking to Keith lately and he’s thinking about promoting me to Manager. It’s not what I want to do long-term but the pay will be better and it will give me a cushion me while I figure out what I want to do.”
“Well,” His dad began, turning his nose up in the air. “You could just come to work with me-“
“He would be so unhappy, Mr. Harrington,” I interrupted, instantly noticing my mistake. “I’m sorry, it’s just Steve is incredibly talented and he should be able to do something that he finds fulfilling.”
“I think that’s a great point, sweetie,” Mrs. Harrington said, sensing the switch in attitudes.
“He’s wasting his time,” Mr. Harrington said, looking at Steve as he spoke.
“Maybe that’s true,” I continued, my grip on Steve’s knee tightening as he placed his hand on top of mine. “Does not change the fact that this is his life and not yours. Support his decisions. If you do that, you’re going to quickly recognize how much your son has to offer.”
“Are you insinuating that I don’t support my son?”
“Dad-,” Steve began before he was interrupted.
“No Steven, I am asking your girlfriend.”
“Mr. Harrington, with all due respect. Steve and I have been friends for years so I know you know my name,” I started, Steve looked at me with an unreadable expression. “I’m sorry if I’m overstepping, Stevie, but Mr. Harrington I am saying you don’t support him. If you did, you would understand that his ambitions are not the same as yours. But his ambitions are beautiful and he has the talent and drive to accomplish anything he wants to.”
“Y/n,” Mrs. Harrington said, placing her hand on the table as she reached for mine. “I love how much you care for our son-“
“But-“
“No buts, John,” Mrs. Harrington said, interrupting her husband. “Steve you can do great things, we just want to see them happen.”
“They will, Mom,” Steve said, breathing out a sigh of relief. “I’m taking everything a step at a time. Just be patient with me.”
“You kids should go enjoy your night,” Mrs. Harrington said, smiling at us as I grabbed Steve’s hand in mine.
“Thank you, Mom,” Steve said, standing up to hug his mom and shake his dad’s hand.
“It was lovely to see you again, Mrs. Harrington, Mr. Harrington,” I said, hugging his mom and shaking his dad’s hand as well. Steve grabbed my hand, staring at me the entire time I pulled him out of the country club restaurant.
“What the fuck was that,” Steve questioned, giggling as we approached his car.
“That was me, supporting and advocating for you,” I whispered, afraid he might be upset.
“Thank you,” He whispered back, gently pushing me back so I was against his car. “That was both the hottest and nicest thing anyone has ever done for me.”
“You’re not mad?” I asked, bringing my hands up to play with the hair at the nape of his neck. “I was afraid I was overstepping.”
“No,” Steve grumbled, his lips ghosting over mine. “I’ve never felt so cared for. I felt like we were a team.”
“We are a team, baby,” I agreed, bringing our lips together. This kiss felt different, more electrically charged. Steve pressed his body against mine and for the first time in a while, I felt him, all of him.  “Stevie,” I moaned out, pulling him even closer.
“I love you, baby,” Steve mumbled as he continued kissing me but trailing the kisses down my neck.
“I love you too,” I breathed out, my mind getting foggy before I remembered the rest of the surprise. “Steve, wait.”
“What’s wrong,” He said, instantly stopping and looking at me with fear in his eyes. “Did I do something?”
“No baby,” I responded, gently touching his face before placing a kiss on his cheek. “I just have one more surprise for you and I’m afraid if we continue I’ll forget.”
“Oh?” Steve questioned, raising his eyebrows. “For me?”
“Yes, for you,” I said laughing. “Get into the car, and drive towards Lover’s Lake, please.”
“You got it, my love,” Steve responded, quickly helping me into the car before he followed suit. Ten, short minutes, later we pulled into a spot at the infamous hook-up spot.
“I wasn’t sure how tonight was going to go, good or bad, but I wanted you to know that I would be here to help you get through all of it,” I rambled, grabbing the champagne out of my bag and handing it to him. “I wanted to celebrate you, celebrate us.”
“It does not matter the storm, we will get through it together,” Steve agreed, grabbing the champagne from my hands before opening his door and getting out. He quickly came over to my side, helping me out before we sat on the hood of his car together.
“Well, pretty boy,” I said, urging him to open the bottle. “Pop it!”
“To us!” He cheered, popping the cork off.
“To weathering all the storms!” I cheered, leaning against Steve as he took a sip.

Dec. 3rd: Not a 'Best Friends' Kind of Love
Day 3: Cuddling/Stuck waiting in line together
Here is day THREE of @comp-lady’s December writing challenge! I’m writing the kind of love that I want to see and I hope everyone else enjoys it too. All of the Eddie fics will take place in the same universe and the Steve fics will take place on their own. It goes without saying (hopefully) that the universes are separate but the fics will be a continuation of each other.
Warnings: Swearing  Word Counts: 1.7k+ Words Pairings: Steve Harrington x Reader Author’s Note: Instead of writing in the third person, this fit is written in the second person...I don’t typically like writing in this kind of POV and if everyone finds it cringe, please tell me so I can make sure to never do it again
Every Friday, you and the rest of the gang met up at Steve’s house for a movie night. It was the only night that was off-limits for anyone to make outside plans. It was family time, if you will. You would prepare the snacks, Eddie would bring the drinks (beer for the older kids and two-liter sodas for the younger kids), Nancy and Jonathan would bring the pizza, Steve and Robin would bring the movies, and the kids would bring the entertainment.
“Steve,” you called, walking into Steve’s house.
“Hey, honey,” Steve said, stepping from around the corner of the kitchen.
“I have an idea for tonight’s movie night, it’s kind of crazy but I think everyone will love it!”
“Okay, what is it?” Steve questioned as he walked forward you to wrap his arms around your frame.
“Okay so listen to this, I brought my parents' fire pit from our backyard and I also picked up some firewood. I thought it would be cool to have an outside, drive-in theater-esque, set-up tonight! So I also brought a king-sized top sheet and I borrowed a projector from the theater department at school,” You continued, rambling about the plan for the night. “I figured we could bring lots of blankets outside, air up your pool floats, and then watch the movies outside so we begin the holiday festivities! It’s still warm for December so I thought-“
“Honey, slow down,” Steve said, stopping you mid-rant. “I think that sounds incredible. The party is going to love that. What do you need me to do to help set up?”
You spent the next few minutes explaining to Steve your vision and what you would need his help to accomplish. Two hours before the group was set to be at Steve’s, you sent him to air up the pool floats while setting up the projector and sheet yourself. Before long, everything was starting to look ready. The floats were set up in a semi-circle and a blanket was placed on each one.
“Stevie, can you come with me to grab the firewood and fire pit?”
“Of course,” Steve responded following you around the side of his house to your car. Together, you grabbed the firewood and the pit and placed them at the center of the pool floats.
“Where is everyone,” Yelled a voice from inside the house.
“Out here,” Steve called back.
“Woah, this is fucking sick,” Dustin said, walking out to the backyard. “I brought the pizza, Nancy and Jonathan will be late and I didn’t want everyone to wait for them!”
“Dusty! I’ll put your pizza in the oven to keep it warm!” You said, walking up to the younger boy and squeezing his shoulder in greeting.  After you walked into the house to put the pizza in the oven, there was a knock on the door.
“Hey, Eds,” You said, opening the front door and giving a side hug to your friend. “Steve and Dustin are outside. We are switching up the scenery for movie night tonight!”
“Oh hell yeah,” Eddie said, following you to the kitchen to put the drinks in the refrigerator. “Is this your way of finally telling Steve how you feel?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” You mumbled, rolling your eyes at Eddie.
“Oh come on, Y/l/n,” Eddie sighed. “He feels the same way, you guys just keep running in circles. What do you have to lose?”
“Oh I don’t know, Munson,” You said. “Maybe my best friend?”
“I promise you won’t, if you don’t say anything you’re always going to wonder what would have been,” Eddie responded as the doorbell rang.
“Excuse me,” You said, pushing past Eddie and dismissing the conversation. “I have to get that.”
After Robin arrived, Nancy and the rest of the party soon followed. The group got situated outside with drinks, snacks, and slices of pizza while Steve pressed play on the movie. As you sat wrapped up in a king-sized blanket on top of a two-person float, Steve came over to sit next to you.
“What are you doing?” You asked, looking up at Steve, wide-eyed.
“Um, sitting next to my best friend,” Steve said, chuckling. As he sat down next to you, pulling the blanket back across your bodies, he noticed your unusually stiff posture. “What is going on, honey?”
“What? Nothing,” You said, looking back up at the movie. Robin brought over Black Christmas because she was not over Halloween but also wanted to get into the Christmas spirit.
“Bullshit, you’ve been avoiding me since we got everything set up,” Steve said, turning his body so he could look at you in the eye. “I can’t fix whatever I did if you don’t tell me what’s bothering you."
“You didn’t do anything, Steve,” You said, bringing your hands up to rub your eyes. “Eddie said something earlier and I’m struggling to wrap my head around it.”
“Do I need to beat him up? I will, if he upset you,” Steve said, turning to eye his friend sitting three floats down.
“Absolutely not, you’ve never won a fight in your life, I’d hate to spend movie night attending to your wounds,” You said, grabbing Steve’s shoulders to turn him back towards you. “I’m sorry, I’m acting weird. Give me two minutes to shake it off and then I’ll be fine.”
“I’m hurt that you don’t think I could win a fight for your honor, you’re probably the only reason I could find the strength to win. But I’m right here if you need me, you know that right?” Steve said, when you nodded in agreeance he turned his attention back to the movie but not before squeezing your shoulders in comfort.
You had been in love with Steve for years. Been best friends for two and maybe Eddie had a point. Steve stopped talking to you about girls and his nights have been free for the last few months as he’s been spending his free time with you. Okay, you could begin to wonder if Eddie was right...You would always wonder what could have been.
“Actually, Stevie,” You said, causing the brown eyes you’ve fallen for to look down at you. “There is something that’s been bothering me and I’m scared to talk about it and I’m scared about what you might say.”
“Oh honey,” Steve said, pulling you into his chest as he pressed a kiss to your head. “Please talk to me, there’s nothing that you could say that would make me think of you differently, absolutely nothing.”
“Okay,” You said, releasing a breath and closing your eyes to gain the courage. “I love you and not in a ‘we are best friends and I love you bestie kind of way.’ I love you in a way that makes my heart explode when you smile. I love you in a way that causes me to physically feel ill when you’re having a rough day or something says something to hurt you. I love you in a way that I will be okay with watching you fall in love with someone else if simply being your friend is what you want from me.”
You opened your eyes as soon as you finished speaking to silence around you. Midway through your speech, Robin had gotten up to stop the movie and everyone stopped talking to watch what they had been waiting for to unfold. Before you could feel embarrassed, Eddie stood up and started clapping.
“Y/l/n, I’m so proud of you, I wasn’t sure you had it in you,” Eddie said laughing, his clapping picking up as everyone else started to join in too. Whooping and hollering.
“Oh honey,” Steve repeated. “I thought I was being so obvious in how I felt about you!”
“No dingus,” Robin shouted across the yard. “We all told you that you two are too dense to just see the signs.”
“Shut up, Robs,” Steve grumbled, turning his body back to face you. “I love you in not a ‘we are best friends and I love you bestie’ way too. God, I’ve loved you for a long time, honey.”
“You do?” You questioned as you leaned up to look at the boy talking to you.
“Yeah, I do,” Steve said as he started laughing. “I tried so hard to make you notice me by talking to those girls in Family Video and when that didn’t work, I tried to show you by spending all my time with you.”
“Steven Harrington, trying to get my attention by talking to other beautiful women is not going to work. In fact, it’s going to piss me off.
“Noted, baby,” Steve said, pulling you back into him. “Can you guys start the movie again? The show’s over.”
“Yeah, yeah, please don’t be gross now guys,” Dustin said as he got up to restart the movie.
“No promises,” Steve said, looking at you as he leaned down to kiss you. As your lips met, you could not help but groan, pulling Steve closer. The moment that you have been craving and dreaming about for years was finally happening. Steve, also feeling the pent-up tension, moved his hands to your face, angling you up to deepen the kiss. As he broke the kiss to take a breath, Steve grumbled, “Please stay over tonight.”
“Okay,” You said, looking up into his eyes before molding your body into his. For the first time, you felt comfortable cuddling him the way you always wanted. As you curled you curled into him, Steve pulled you even closer.
“I think this is my new favorite spot,” Steve grumbled into your neck.
“I think it’s mine too.”

Dec. 16th: Islands in the Stream
Day 16: Cute Aggression/Spontaneous Dancing
It’s time for day 16 of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge! Day 15 was a free day and I used it to travel for Christmas so there will be no fic on the 15th. :) The next ten days of stories will be shorter than I have been writing…this is because I’ll be with family and I’ll have less time for writing each day. Forgive me! <3
Warnings: Swearing, *Slight* Allusions to Smut (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)  Word Counts: 0.7k+ Words Pairings: Eddie Munson x Reader
You had seen a TikTok earlier today of something called the “Beckham Test.” In this video, the woman began playing “Islands in the Stream” by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. As the song began to play, she began to dance and you quickly realize that if the man randomly began dancing with her, regardless of his moves, he ‘passed’ the test. You thought about how funny it would be to see Eddie’s reaction to hearing this song, a song that is very clearly not in his wheelhouse. So you set out to try the challenge discreetly, even if he didn’t dance, the challenge was so ridiculous anyway that it would give you both something to laugh about later.
With your mom and Macy still at your grandparents' until dinner, you had music playing all day as to not draw suspicion from Eddie. In preparation, you set your phone up on the window sill above the kitchen sink. As the music started playing, you started to hum and sing along as best as you could after only hearing the song a handful of times on TikTok.
“What are you doing in here, baby?” Eddie questioned as he came into the kitchen causing you to turn and look at him.
“Doing dishes and listening to some music,” You answered, as you turned back towards the sink to put your dishes down. This is the moment, you thought to yourself as you turned back to face Eddie while swaying your hips a little to the beat.
In the background you hear, Islands in the stream, that is what you are, there’s no in-between... and Eddie, your ever-confident and lovable boyfriend, grabs your hips and begins to sway with you. You giggled, knowing this reaction would be the one you’d receive but as you both began to lightly sing the lyrics to each other, your eyes grew misty.
“You passed,” You whispered, breaking the moment as Eddie looked down at you with a soft smile. A second later he noticed your eyes full to tears and his happy expression faded into one of confusion.
“What, sweetheart?” He questioned, his hands coming up to your face, thumbs swiping underneath your eyes to catch the tears that were beginning to bubble over your waterline.
“I saw something this weekend on TikTok about knowing the person you’re with is your person based on how they participate in this test,” You began mumbling, looking up into Eddie’s eyes. “I expected you to dance with me but it just made my heart all mushy.”
“Aw, did my girl get too overwhelmed with looooove,” He said, extending the word love in a way that he knew would make you smile and (hopefully) giggle.
“Shut up,” You said, pushing at his chest with no effort as a smile lit up your face.
“I’m glad I passed the test I didn’t know I was taking,” Eddie said, releasing you from his grasp and doing a ballerina spin toward the sink where your phone was sitting. “How about we get this party started, huh?”
“What do you mean?” You asked, stepping towards him as he began typing into your phone.
“I mean,” Eddie started as you heard the opening chords to the Black Sabbath song, ‘Paranoid.’ “We’re gonna dance, baby, but it is gonna be metal when we do it.”
Giggling, you began to headband while jumping up and down as Eddie pretended to shred on the guitar. Together, you started screaming the lyrics, your bodies jumping up and down with limbs flailing in all directions. You were so distracted that you didn’t hear the front door open and an excited Macy ran into the room.
“Metal dance party,” She screamed, causing you and Eddie to both stop your dancing, startled by the intrusion.
“Macy Macy, you’re back!” Eddie shouted, grabbing the little girl and swinging her around.
“Did you guys miss me?” She asked in between squeals.
“So much, sweet girl,” You said, ruffling her hair before walking over to your mom to greet her.
“What’s going on in here, my sweeties?” She questioned, as you pulled away from the hug.
“Your daughter was afraid I wasn’t actually her person, so we had a dance party and then a metal dance party to prove it,” Eddie said shrugging, Macy still giggling.
“He’s ridiculous,” You argued, rolling your eyes with a smile on your face. Your annoyance was not believable in the slightest.
“Well?” Your mom said, nudging your hip with hers as you both watched the other two dance around. “Did he prove himself as your person?”
“He sure did.”

Dec. 12th: Errand Day
Day 12: Grocery Shopping/Somone sets off the fire alarm
Day 12 of @comp-lady’s Domestic December writing challenge is upon us!
Warnings: Maybe Swearing (This is an 18+ blog, minors dni)  Word Counts: 1.1k+ Words Pairings: Steve Harrington x Reader
Finally having a day off of work, I decided to spend the day running some unnecessary errands, Target, TJ Maxx, and Ulta. A day full of treating myself with a vanilla latte in hand. After I got out of bed, I took my time getting ready. I put on an outfit that made me confident but was also practical for an errand day. Once I was dressed and I finished my hair and makeup. I walked down the stairs hoping to find some coffee still in the pot from my parents so I could make an iced latte. Instead, I found Steve sitting at my kitchen table reading the newspaper that was undoubtedly left by my dad.
“Stevie,” I said, crossing the threshold into the kitchen and making my way towards him. “What are you doing here, I though you had to work today?”
“I was supposed to but Keith called to swap shifts with me for later in the week. Apparently they needed a manager to be there to sign for a delivery today,” He said, standing up to pull you in for a kiss.
“Mm,” I acknowledged, leaning into the kiss before breaking away. “Does this mean you want to join me with running errands today?”
“Only if those errands include grocery shopping, I need to get some things for my house,” Steve responded.
“I think I can make that work,” I said before smiling up at the boy. After telling Steve the plans I had for the day, I poured us both an iced coffee and we got into Steve’s car to head to our first destination, TJ Maxx.
“So what do we need to get here?” Steve questioned as you walked through the automatic doors.
“Oh, we don’t need anything. We are just looking to see if we see anything that we can’t live without.”
“That sounds like we are wasting time,” Steve wondered out loud, looking at me with a weird look in his eyes.
“It’s not wasting time, Stevie, it’s like a hobby, unnecessary but it brings joy.”
“Hm, okay,” Steve responded, not really believing it.
Together, we walked through the entirety of the store, I would pick up random items, asking Steve his opinion of them. Before long, his interest was piqued and he was invested in this ‘hobby.’
“Baby,” Steve said, garnering my attention before shoving a kitchen tool in my face. “Look at this, I feel like this is something we can’t live without.”
“Steve, I’m not sure we have a use for a loose-leaf tea holder,” I said, a smile overtaking my face at his giddy reaction. “Have you ever had a cup of tea?”
“No, but I feel like I could start.”
“And that is when we know it’s the to leave the store,” I said, grabbing the item from him and putting it back on the shelf. Placing my hand out for Steve to grab it, he signed before accepting as I dragged us out of the store.
“Next up is Ulta,” I said as he put the car into drive. “I have a few things I do need to buy so this is less casual browse and more of a get in and out situation.”
“Thank god, I know even less about makeup,” Steve breathed out.
“Well today is the day I teach you!”
A few minutes later, we pulled up to the Ulta. Steve got out before opening my door and together we walked through the second set of automatic doors today. “So I need to get more blush, mascara, and setting spray, just follow me.”
On a mission to get through the store, I quickly grabbed a basket and handed it to Steve, reminding him to follow me. I walked over to the Morphe setting spray and tossed one can in the basket. Then, I found the Fenty cream blush and mascara and tossed both of them into the basket. “Okay, handsome, let’s go checkout.”
“Let me get it for you,” Steve said as we approached the checkout counter.
“Babe, these are not cheap, I can get it.”
“No,” Steve argued. “They can’t be that bad. It’s probably what, $30?”
The lady at the counter let out a laugh. “It’s his first time,” I said, pointing at Steve. “It’s going to be more than $30, baby.”
“Your total is $82.37,” The lady at the counter said, looking over to Steve to see his bewildered expression.
“Yeah, I think I’ll let you get this one,” Steve whispered as I laughed and swiped my card.
“Let’s go get groceries,” I said as we walked out of the store and back into Steve’s BMW. The drive to the grocery store was quick and before long, I was pulling out a cart to follow along with Steve’s grocery shopping. “I’ll follow you, handsome!”
“Okay, let’s start with the produce,” Steve said, taking off towards the fruits and vegetables. He started grabbing his essentials such as spinach, avocados, bell peppers, carrots, apples, and bananas. Then he started walking towards the bakery.
“Why did you throw in everything bagels?” I questioned. “You hate them...”
“You love them,” He shrugged before throwing more items in the cart. You were thrown off. Of course he would be kind enough to get you your favorite bagel, especially with the increase in sleepovers. After hearing his reasons I mumbled out a quick thank you before pressing a kiss to his cheek.
With a deep blush forming on his cheeks, Steve turned away before heading towards the dairy section. As I slowly followed him over, he already had a few items in his hands. When I approached, Steve put sweet cream creamer in the cart.
“Baby,” I said, grabbing the creamer back out of the cart. “You hate this creamer, why are you trying to buy it?”
“You love it,” He said, shrugging his shoulder AGAIN.
“Steven,” I said sternly. “You have to let me buy the things that I need to use when I’m at your place.”
“Absolutely not,” he responded before walking away. Steve continued walking down the aisles, throwing in his essential snacks and things to make dinner, especially with his parents away. Once we began walking down the chip aisle, Steve grabbed the blue Takis, throwing them in the cart too.
“Steven, what are you doing, those are too hot for you!”
“You love them,” He reiterated. “I want you to be comfortable and have snacks and foods that you love whenever you’re with me. It’s my way of taking care of you.”
“Okay,” I whispered, abandoning the cart and throwing myself in Steve’s arms. As he secured his arms around me, I whispered, “Can we get some ice cream too?”
“Duh,” Steve said, smirking down at you. “It was already on the list, we just haven’t made it to the frozen section yet.”
“You spoil me, Harrington,” I said, leaning up to kiss him in the middle of the grocery story chip aisle.
“Mm,” Steve groaned, pulling himself away from me to respond. “I’d buy you ice cream and takes everyday if it brought that smile to your face.”
“I love you.”
“And I love you,” Steve echoed. “Let’s go finish up so we can go home and cuddle.”
“Errand day is the best day,” I said bumping my hips to Steve’s as we walked down the chip aisle together, Steve now pushing the cart.
