"what are you working on?"

persephone's brow furrows as hades quickly folds the paper back up and tucks it in his pocket. she'd caught a glimpse of a few scribbled notes and lyrics with it, several that had been marked out and re-written. hades looks almost bothered she'd caught him in the midst of writing but the plane is only so big and she can only sleep for so long. the low hum of the great machine vibrates against her feet; she's no idea what time it is, just knows they're still somewhere over the atlantic.

"nothing important." he murmurs, glancing up. "it's late."

"is it?" she sits down across from him at the small table that still has remanants of their dinner. there are perks, she thinks, having the sort of clout he does; private jets are one of them. if she never flies economoy the rest of her life she'll be pleased (she just tries not to consider just how much money this sort of trip requires).

"we won't land for a few more hours. should get sleep while you can."

persephone shrugs, leaning over to grab a bottle of beer from the fridge. she ignores his frown as she cracks it open with a soft hiss. it's not her favorite, but it'll do to extend the pleasant warmth in her frame from last night's drinking binge. she knows he doesn't like her drinking as hard as she does some days, but ain't like she's doing drugs like the rest of their industry so oh fucking well. she takes a long swig.

"says the one who probably ain't shut his eyes once."

"i'll rest later." he rumbles.

"in the meantime you're gonna keep bein' secretive on me?" she teases with a sly little smile. "writin' music again?"

"something like that." he leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees.

"can i hear it?"

"it isn't finished." he rebuffs her gently. "it's . . . important that it's finished."

"just the melody?" she pries quietly and he sighs in the way that tells her she's already won the arguement. he hums something soft, a few notes strung together that hardly counts as a melody. she gives him a pointed look and he continues, humming out a somewhat disjointed series of notes that eventually come together. persephone smiles.

"i like it."

"you'll like it more when it's finished."

"who's to say?"

"because i'm writing it for you."

persephone's face feels hot, flushing briefly in the dim lighting and she hopes he doesn't see. frankly she doesn't know what to make of it. she and hades haven't exactly defined themselves relationship wise. hades doesn't exactly do dates and their schedules don't allow for much of them, but they've definitely been together a long ass while. used the 'L' word which feels pretty big. persephone just ain't eager to ruin it anytime soon, what they've got. whatever it is.

"when are you gonna finish it?" she asks, and he leans back again. thoughtful. she thinks he ain't gonna answer the way those lips twitch and those eyes dart from her to the table then back up again.

"when you marry me." he settles, and persephone tries not to choke-laugh-snort on the drink she's just taken. his expression shifts just slightly and she realises quite quickly that oh no he's serious.

"i didn't - is that a thing you want?" she asks, probably a little harder than she means. will marriage ruin the good thing they have?

"if you'd like."

persephone tilts her head.

"i don't look good in white."

"is that a yes?"

"it's a maybe." a pause. "if you'd like."

Cactus and nutmeg?

 ﹟random get-to-know-me ask game cactus ⇢ something you’re currently learning (about)? hmmm i dunno if i'm actively learning something right now, kind of hit pause on the stuff that I did (spanish in duolingo and coding in python via udemy), so I'll reply on what I want to learn to not make it a really boring answer lol. I definitely want to get back to learn coding, before starting a degree in computer sceience, and maybe i might get into it more in my job later as well. I'd also love to get back to learning more spanish too eventually. It kinda sucks cause I love learning new things but commiting to learning without having an organized frame for it (school, a course, etc) is really hard and reqiures a lot of mental energy i do not possess (and free time, which is also a bit lacking at the moment). also obviously, the 'you have to be good at it immediately or you're a failute tm' is also a factor for me but i'm aware i have to work on that. I'd also love to learn how to gif someday, and how to play a guitar, but I keep not getting around to actually doing anything about it lol.

nutmeg ⇢ how’s your room/home decorated? do you have a specific theme or style going on? I don't really have much in the way of decoration in my room/home right now so i'm afraid i'm pretty boring in that regard, I just haven't gotten around to put energy into it. Mostly still just happy i ~have~ a room for myself ever since i moved out cause i didn't at my mom's place. The only actual piece of 'decor' i currently have in my room is an inspiration board on the wall with post-it notes in different colors, in which i wrote some of my favorite lyrics <3 Not sure if that would count as decor but i do have around the house a display cabinet of all my funko pops (way too many) and another one for books. so maybe that. I would definitely love to put more energy into decor someday, maybe buying stickers for favorite lyrics/quotes to put on the wall or some drawing of a landscape and stuff like that. Just feels like something to put more energy into when you actually have an apartment that is ~yours~ (altho, in ~this~ economoy? that's a wild dream) or at least feels more permanent for the long term.

Not to make light of anyone else’s situation. But here is mine...

We are buying a house. I have been trying for the past year to land a full time job with my local county government, and have thus far been unsuccessful. My current job ends in two weeks and I have no perspective employment lined up. I need a county job for health insurance purposes. My husband is the main bread winner and he works in a restaurant.

Enter global fucking pandemic! All of my county’s testing is being postponed and with the current state of the economoy, it’s unclear if I’ll be able to find a job before the summer. My husband’s super secure job is now out the window as he may be without paychecks for a few weeks because of the pandemic. We are moving into our new house next month! And it’s a fixer upper because at the time we had investment savings enough to cover it. Now that fund is greatly diminished and I am just...

I am stressed on a level that I have never been stressed before in my life. It is the literal perfect storm to screw up our plans!! In every way, shape and form.

I know finances are fucked right now, but it would mean the world to me if you could give me a five star review on Itunes for my podcast. I’m on hiatus right now because mentally I am not in a creative zone. But reviews help!!

It’s alright I guess? We are now pretty much all open again, bar some restrictions. The rate has gone down to single digit of new cases so far, though we fear there’s gonna be another surge since we just opened air travel again. But all things considered, we’re doing pretty well. The economoy is in sad state though.
