6. What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

When I designed syll, her role was a little different. She was supposed to be very elegant and flouncy, but it just didn't work. I redesigned her recently with her actual role in mind. She's supposed to be elegant and a little on the eerie side, but still active and capable. A lot of her elegance is her own sort of tactic to earn and hold respect within her organisation, but she also just enjoys wearing pretty and cool outfits.

The masks are a part of the mandated dress of any heretics in their city. In the religion of the town, you are supposed to cover your entire face with paint or a mask, and clothing is usually thin and light because your body being open to the sunlight is seen as holy. Because of this, heretics are mandated to wear thick, dark clothing, and only partial masks, so that their god can "see the shame on their faces"

13.Do you have a voice claim for the character? What do you imagine the character sounds like?

Haven't really got there yet, but considering Syll transitioned as an adult, her voice is probably a little on the deeper side. when she shows up in the story post transition, she's been on hrt and for around 4 years, but hasn't really done as much voice training much because the concepts of male and female are far looser in lorethar, so social pressure to sound "like a woman" is lesser. she's very well spoken and rather formal in most cases. I haven't really decided what accent to give the area yet, but the heretics would probably have a seperate dialect or accent from being so separated from the rest of the city. My default is to jusr make everyone British because I am British and its what I know best, but that feels a little boring

I found it through taking a chance on their debut album at a 2nd hand record store, I just saw it and thought it looked cool so I bought it. amazing decision on my part not to suck my own dick

God there's so many good ones that I'm really fucking insane about. but rn enoch drebber and albert harebrayne have an extremely fascinating potential platonic dynamic to me and I'm rattling and shaking them in my brain aughhghghhgahghjahhaj. I could ramble about them so much they FASCINATE ME.

honestly I don't really tend to gravitate towards specific tropes I guess, but I have a soft spot for friends to lovers due to my own life experience with relationships. thinking and reading about the slow blurring of lines between platonic and romantic, and the combined intimacy of knowing someone as both a friend and a lover.. God. yeah. (average benbaro shipper)
