Recent-ish Admin BT finds: furniture & big decor edition (Various thrifts in the Boise, ID area)
I desperately want the Eastlake headboard/footboard but I cannot justify the cost.
The ugliest ottoman I've ever laid my eyes upon, a couch featuring a chair motif, a commercial iced tea machine, several very large light fixtures, Surfer Bros, a table that looks like its on tippy toes, and a whole ass wishing well

I can’t believe this co op apt. in the Bronx, New York. It looks like a Victorian museum, but you can see how narrow this room is. Frankly, I’m so sick of white apts. and homes, and that’s all I see. But, this is amazing- look at the ceiling.
Tumblr media
I’m amazed- I can’t believe what they did to this apt. You can tell by the door that it was just an old co op. And, it sold for only $325,000.
Tumblr media
In classic pre-war form, the home opens into an entry foyer, off which are two convenient closets and lovely built-in bookshelves.
Tumblr media
Intricate crown moldings and custom, handcrafted ceramic tiles jumpstart the opulent interior. The sunken living room has enough space for two sitting areas. Elaborate coffered ceilings meet the hand painted floral wallpaper, one wall of which is covered with floor-to-ceiling mirrors with copper frames.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Across from the living room, the dining room serves double duty as an elegant tea room.
Tumblr media
Through here is the kitchen. It’s petite, but it has plenty of character thanks to brick tiles and fully-functioning vintage furnishings.
Tumblr media
In the master bathroom, there are imported Turkish Iznik tiles on the walls and floors, bordered by Carrara marble tiles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The master bedroom takes on a lighter feel, with white tin ceilings and moldings. The wallpaper is the Dalston Rose print from House of Hackney, a popular British company that interprets traditional designs.
Tumblr media
The showstopper, however, are the closet doors, adorned with Eastlake carvings. They are from an 1884 butler pantry.
Tumblr media
As you can see in the master, all the apartment’s radiators have received custom wrought iron and bronze cases with white marble tops.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The guest bathroom is a work of art in its own right. A replica of Jean-Honore Fragonard’s painting “The Bolt” takes up the entire wall; the owners even had to receive permission from the Louvre in Paris to have it recreated! A clawfoot tub and moody wood-paneled walls complete the look.

Do you have a book that, when you read it, feels like visiting an old friend?
For me it’s Duma Key, by Stephen King. It’s a slightly more...obscure one, I guess? It certainly doesn’t have the name recognition that The Shining or It or Carrie have, at least.
But it’s my favorite, I think. Maybe I just really relate to the protagonist? I don’t know. He’s suffered an injury and is trying to rehabilitate and does so through (among other things) walking and learning to create art, and that feels very relatable to me.
Maybe I just love the characters? I dunno. Like I want to meet them. I want to sit on the beach with Jerome Wireman and sip green tea sweetened with just a tiny bit of honey and listen to him talk. I want to walk along the sand of Duma Key and look for shells and dip my toes in the caldera. I want to look at Edgar’s paintings and watch the sunset from Big Pink and look at Miss Eastlake’s little porcelain figures.
The spooky bits, the horror story, are almost an afterthought, though it’s good and spooky and interesting. I dunno, I just...love these characters and I love this setting.
Do you have any books like that, where you read them over and over again just to revisit your friends?

A Description Of Lebanese Bakery Eastlakes
The Lebanese Bakery Eastlakes is a specialist bakery that has been established in Leeds since 1992. The choice of the Bakery is wide, including such traditional delights as pastries, sandwiches, and salads, as well as being able to cater for other types of food. There are many places in Leeds that provide a variety of services to cater for the needs of the public, and the Bakery provides a perfect outlet to do so.
It started out as just a small family owned business. There were two men who started it up: Samiads Ghanem and Jamal Hanafy. By chance the first location did not turn a profit, and this led to them being extremely cautious when it came to putting money into the business. They knew that the market was huge, and that it would take some time before they could make a success of it.
This led to them hiring out some equipment, and this has led to them expanding ever since. This expansion has seen them go from a tiny one to two outlets, in addition to opening up several other 'off license' branches elsewhere in the region. It is a similar story with their 'franchises', which they have taken on in the areas of Manchester, Liverpool, Stratford-upon-Avon and York. Of course, there is no legal requirement for franchises to open elsewhere within the UK, but since everything is done so locally, it makes sense that customers will gravitate towards them. The market is very large, and there is certainly room for many more stores.
The first Bakery opened in Eastlakes on the corner of Plockton Street and did very well, attracting many local residents. Then two weeks later, it closed down while renovating another part of the building. They are due to start work on a new location shortly. However, in the meantime, they have opened another 'brick and mortar' unit at Boughton Street.
This one has been open for several months, and despite the location, customers seem to love it. It is situated just off Newquay Road and is just as busy as the original, if not busier. There is also a second restaurant in the area that does a very good food, called 'The Quinceanera'.
This particular 'restaurant' serves family style Mediterranean meals, such as soups, salads, and a wide range of main dishes. It also serves some desserts, along with coffee and tea. A number of local residents work here, as do a number of international students. In fact, there is even an English class, sometimes held every Tuesday evening. There are also several events, such as the Lebanese boxing event, which takes place here from time to time.
The 'Lebanese Bakery' in Eastlakes is also home to a number of other popular small restaurants and bistros that do a reasonable amount of business, and are also great places to go when in the area. These include 'The Lemonade Lounge', 'The Lanes', 'The Lemon Cucumber Lounge', 'The Olive Tree', 'Le Bordeaux', and 'The Cheesecake Factory'. There is also a great little Lebanese place just down the street from the 'Lebanese Bakery', which also serves some good food.
This particular'restaurant' has received numerous awards, including a 'Best New Restaurant' award at the local festivals. There are two small shops inside the 'Meadowlands End' area, one that sells clothes and shoes, and the other which sells coffee and sandwiches. There is a small supermarket as well, called 'El Kebab', which has a range of Mediterranean snacks and food items, as well as bottled water. There are also a few more restaurants in this area that serve typical Lebanese fare, and some places where you can get really exotic cocktails.

Brass Tacts: The Art of Screwing Up (Without Screwing it All Up)
Tumblr media
To err is to human, and in broadcasting and content creation, to err could be rather costly. But how do you turn that mistake you made in to a lesson learned without totally derailing your career path?
My first broadcasting internship was in the summer of 1996, and I was fortunate to have it in my hometown of Tampa. While the format of the music on “101 WUSA” wasn’t exactly this 18-year-old’s cup of tea, I knew then my choice of being a production assistant for the station was a better option than being a morning show lackey for the more popular top 40 station I could have worked for. This was a chance for me to get my hands on some equipment and do some actual work, which I wanted to do after getting my career started just a few months before. If I was going to give up my paid weekend work back in Tuscaloosa for an unpaid major market internship, I wanted to make it worth my while.
With my internship starting in May, we were right in the thick of May sweeps-- one of the two time periods each year (the other being November) when local TV stations pull an all-out blitz of advertising to draw more viewers. The May and November sweeps determine the ad rates on the stations, so the stakes are high in every TV, radio, or print ad that runs. To help production director Steve Sande and the production staff out, I was assigned the duty of taking the numerous commercials from the TV stations and ingesting them in to the digital commercial system WUSA was using.
Tumblr media
Now this was 1996, and digital technology was still very primitive compared to today’s standards. The commercial system required several steps to record a commercial into it, and the commercials from the TV stations were delivered on reel-to-reel tape. Each station would send over about 8-10 commercials on several tapes. The spots promoted the 6 p.m. and late night newscasts for that night to air in the PM drive shift, maybe even the prime time lineup for the network, and most importantly the morning news and network programming that would air during the lucrative morning drive shift. With the TV stations jockeying for viewers in a day and age where most cable systems still only had maybe 50 channels, and the internet was still a curiosity rather than a primary source of information for people, these commercials were extremely important to clear. And that’s not just for the TV stations buying the time, but for the radio stations that sold the valuable avails to them. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I had thousands of dollars of air time in my hands every time I strung up one of those tapes to play back in to the commercial system.
Now also in 1996, I didn’t have a car of my own. While this wasn’t much of an issue living on campus of the University of Alabama, it certainly was that summer since I lived in the suburb of Seffner-- about a 20-mile drive to the station which was located near Tampa International Airport. In order to do this, someone in my family would drop me off at an express bus station in nearby Brandon. That bus would take me downtown where I switched buses to a local route, and I would do the routine in the afternoon with an added twist. In order for me to take the last express bus out of downtown to my neighborhood, I had to board the local bus near the station no later than 4:40 p.m. If I missed that local bus, I would miss the express to Brandon. That would mean I would have to take a local bus to the old Eastlake Square Mall, which was a good 20-30 minutes out of the way for my parents to pick me up. I can attest that the bus system in Hillsborough County hasn’t improved that much in the past 23 years, but I digress...
These tapes often arrived via courier between 2 and 3 p.m., so I had my work cut out for me if I wanted to get out the door for that 4:40 bus. Sometimes complicating matters, was the TV stations changing their promotional messaging, which meant tapes would come in closer to 4. One day late in May sweeps, when I felt like I had a routine down pat, I hurriedly processed the 20 or so TV spots I had to ingest before running out the door to catch that 4:40 bus.
The morning bus system was not that much better, often having me enter the station between 9:30 and 10 the next morning. Sande called me in to his production studio, and asked me if I had done the spots for WFTS, the local ABC affiliate. I said I did, it was after all part of my normal afternoon glut of commercial dubs from the 4 local stations. He pulled out a production order and commercial log written up with red ink everywhere. When I ingested spots correctly, I would give each spot a digital cart number that was assigned by the traffic department. Well on this particular day I had created a new cut number in one cart number, as opposed to assigning each spot its own cart number. That meant that the 8-10 carts scheduled for WFTS that previous night and following morning never ran. And in a day and age before instant connection with people on their cell phone or email, nobody found out what went wrong until the following morning. That’s when Sande told me about my mistake, and the cost.
My urgent need to get out the door cost the station $1,000 in ad revenue. On top of that, the station had to give WFTS bonus avails the next day to make-good the missed spots. Let me tell you, nothing makes you think your job is done and your career is off the rails than when you the 18-year-old unpaid intern discovers you just cost the station at least $1,000 with a mistake. I learned a lot from Steve Sande, and we remained close friends until his untimely death from a heart attack in 2013, and Steve gave me the ultimate “let down dad” look to me that day. He told me to be more careful, and then I sulked off to the promotions office to do data entry while listening to Crystal Bernard and Peter Cetera croon in heavy rotation on the office’s radio.
Tumblr media
Steve Sande, production director and saint.
Maybe it was the endless hours of typing frequent listener names and addresses in to a computer, or hearing that damn Crystal Bernard/Peter Cetera song every 87 minutes, but later that day I found my chutzpah. Around 3 p.m. I went back in to Sande’s studio, and asked him if I could have that day’s TV commercials to put in to the system. He turned around and looked at me with a little surprise in his eyes, and then he half-jokingly said, “You’ve got some nerve Sammon!” I replied that I wanted to get it right this time and he could trust me, I just wanted to help everyone out. He slowly nodded his head, and reached in to his inbox for a stack of production orders and reel-to-reel tapes. That afternoon I carefully ingested each spot as instructed, and even went back to Sande’s studio to double-check it. Every day after that, I meticulously ingested every commercial given to me, and I never screwed up another spot.
I can also say that day, I proved my worth to Steve Sande and the entire radio station. I knew I goofed up, and big time, but I learned my lesson and went right back in to the trenches that an unpaid intern works in without complaint. As I said before Steve and I became good friends, and at a lunch the following March when I just wanted to say hello because I was in town on spring break, Steve asked me if I was going to work again as an intern for the station. I honestly hadn’t given my summer plans much thought then, simply living in the moment, but I quickly agreed to. I did so much production work in my first week back in the summer of 1997, the station hired me part-time. Just a year before I was costing the station $1,000. Now, I was putting that in to my pocket after a couple of paychecks. It was a lesson I learned then on my work ethic, and it taught me a lesson on how to handle an issue like this in the future. Here’s what I drew from both sides of the equation:
Every mistake is a teachable moment, and something you should acknowledge: No matter how small or insignificant it may be, you can and should learn something from any mistake you make. And when you make a mistake you should own up to it. It’s too easy to blame someone else when you made the mistake, so fess up first and you’ll discover the learning process comes a lot easier when you’re not fooling yourself.
After you learn from it, try not to do it again: Mistakes happen because we are human, but after you’ve learned your lesson you need to show everyone including yourself that you actually learned it by not repeating the mistake. Showing you can take the fall for your mistakes, and learn and improve despite the error proves your value to everyone involved.
If an employee or co-worker makes a mistake, don’t hang it over his/her head forever: I can only imagine how terrible Steve felt when his intern made a $1,000 mistake. Actually I know it, because my interns in the future would also make mistakes on things they should have known better. But rather than berate them for the mistake, or let it linger with them for a long time, patiently work with them to understand what the mistake was and how not to do it again. Showing you understand while also correcting the mistake establishes a very important bond between you and your employees. The forgiveness, even in a costly mistake, goes a long way in keeping the employee’s morale and dedication to the bigger cause intact.

Prism Battle League: The World’s First LGBTQ Battle Rap League
Despite the societal change towards progressive thought when it comes to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender+ communities, Hip Hop remains one of the toughest industries to break into as an LGBTQ+ artist. While the presence of LGBTQ+ musicians like Taylor Bennett and Frank Ocean has aided in encouraging progress, a gatekeeper-like barrier still persists. For as long as it existed, the Hip Hop industry has been known to only make space for the heterosexual male and even more recently, female. As such, it is only through the arrival and efforts of individuals who dared to challenge the established narrative, that we are seeing such an effective change today. While efforts to create space for LGBTQ+ communities continues to be a challenging task, Bronx battle rapper Sara Kana is doing her part by launching the Hip-Hop centered LGBTQ+ platform Prism Battle League.
Prism is a battle rap league which mainly caters to emcees from the LGBTQ+ community. The New York-based initiative was uprooted by its creator, Sara Kana also known as “The God Mother” who made the announcement via a video-blog on her Youtube page back in 2016. The movement officially made its historic debut on January 9th, 2016 and has since successfully served as a platform which empowers the voices of the otherwise underrepresented and silenced communities. The organization operates with strong consideration of the LGBTQ+ movement, hence numerous battles coincide with related events, including Pride Week.
While other rap battle leagues such as Queen of the Ring previously created space for members of the LGBTQ+ community by having several openly gay lesbian battlers, Prism sets itself apart by solely dedicating their platform to LGBTQ+ folks. In all, the concept is refreshing and incredibly important to the culture. And since it’s debut in 2016, the platform has accumulated a notable roster of talented individuals with a unique contribution to the art of battle rap.
Below, we’ll break down the Prism battle rap artists you can expect to see this year.
Ty White
Ty White has earned the alias of Mr. Limelight for a reason. The emcee holds a consistent streak at Prism. His slick bars slowly but surely destroy his opponents’ ego while feeding his own confidence. Ty’s glistening flow allows him to move through the room as he delivers his bars. It is not uncommon for him to leave his opponents shook, his lyrical output conveys back-to-back attacks which double up and nail his opponents. And just when things settle down, the rapper quickly delivers an unexpected heavy-hitter from under his sleeve that unravels his opponent along with the applauding screams of the audience.
Key bar: “Knee to the face, we pop up, causing breakouts, speak to me clean and clear in this race cause this pro active and coming for whiteheads, something you gotta face.”
40 B.A.R.R.S
Rap battler 40 B.A.R.R.S has a stronghold on the game and remains indubitably one of the battle rap’s queens. Hailing all the way from Boston, 40 B.A.A.R.S not only accounts for her opponent’s lyrical abilities in her responses but also targets their personal characters by way of potent bars. That is, bars which riddle the emcee’s opponents with overwhelming self-doubt they likely dwell on the very same night. Moreover, 40 ensures to defend herself from her opponents’ attacks by detailing facts from the rumors about her. Though, do not let her personal introspection have you believing the next few bars won’t be right back to come for your neck.
Key bar:“Hit your head it’s like a tumor in your melon, bullets will spread even faster than them rumors you be telling.”
Couture
Couture is a seriously talented and strategic battle rapper. She targets her nemesis at the core, as her bars hit the guts and leave a lyrical mess. The Rhode Island-bred rapper’s lyrics are ingenious, intricate and particularly catered to attack her opponent’s weaknesses, whatever they might be– from their looks to their socioeconomic status. Couture will manage to breed insecurities surrounding her opponent’s appearance, only to return with a streak of threats that’ll leave them her foe shaking. The female emcee's content includes creative and clever schemes that do not plan on beating around the bush anytime soon. Her rounds are structured, eloquent and delivered with a noticeable composure which affirms Couture’s status as a silent killer.
Key bar: “He said I got 40 for you, I said thousand? He said no, 40 B.A.R.R.S, I said oh, the ghetto b*tch that lives in housing.“
Melato Black
Melato Black’s powers can be found in her pen. The rapper’s lyrical subject matter hints at the Jersey rapper’s high intellect and the latter consistently shows through her sharp-edged delivery. The emcee’s charisma and composure sustain the intensity of her blows throughout the battle. Furthermore, the steady use of precise wording and complex wordplay reveals Melato’s ability to crush those who dare stand before her.
Key bar:“So my objective, balm her, I’m on her, you get a sleeping bag if it gets intense, sticks smoking at the top, is it making sense (incense)?”
Kazzy
This battle rapper knows how to put on a show all while delivering some tough lyrical blows. In his clear objective to destroy his opponent’s self-esteem, Kazzy keeps it light and comical which further emphasizes his reign as one of Prism’s best battle league rappers. With ease, the emcee continues to wow through each round by maintaining a succinct delivery and untouchable sequence.
Key bar:“Well, they set you up cause they made you the pilot and they knew as I blew up, you would die, that’s a kamikaze. I’m still giving you shots behind each bar, those are kamikaze. And if I get upset, there’s no way you can calm a Kazzy.”
Jericho
DC reppin’ emcee Jericho’s lines are brutally honest and slightly disrespectful. And in battle, opponents easily find themselves crushed under the palms of Jericho’s heavy lyrical weight. To note, despite his status as a newcomer on the battle rap scene, the artist continues to go hard and bring the heat to each round. When he steps away from bouncing rhymes off his opponent’s head, as usual, he flaunts unmovable confidence displayed through his witty and paced output.
Key bar: “B*tch I’m a shapeshifter, y’all know I’m a pharmacy technician, well yeah I’m about to change my profession to a gravedigger, and that’s a plot that J Munn in and y’all [Swisher & Cheshire]  bout to lie in with him. Y’all probably hit the same tune like y’all riding with him and word of advice to anybody vibing with em, y’all can all get killed [kilt] like Scottish women.”
Swisher
Staten Island’s Swisher distinguishes himself with his intimidating demeanor. Moreover, the rapper’s disrespectful haymakers regularly leave his opponents flushed, embarrassed. The nonchalant rapper knows how to hit his opponents with the right words– the kind that will slowly build up and destroy their confidence. Swisher’s fearlessness is backed up by plenty of heavy bars which he fires one after the other with an incredibly unique delivery that sets the emcee apart from other battle rappers. Evidently, the runner up has earned the title of battle rap OG at Prism for a reason. His rhythm and style is one which attracts opponents to try and take on the dire task of challenging him on the battleground.
Key bar:“I done told y’all I am not the one, two, three or four, but I am the one to let off three from the fours.”
Cheshire
Kansas City’s Cheshire is indubitably the king of smooth and nonchalant wordplay. As far as lyrics go, the rapper makes use of everything from cultural references to his opponent’s physical appearance, to destroy whatever shred of confidence they previously had. The rapper is calm and composed throughout each round, offering fewer gestures than most battle rappers. Yet the latter is understandable considering there is not much noise or extravagance needed when your bars carry such thunder.
Key bar: “I have you singing Star since you think you a pop b*tch, pop b*tch, or you can get them bald heads like Britney, or you can die over the lines like Whitney.”
J Munn
Ohio-bred battle rapper J Munn’s delivery remains a comical spectacle as the battle rapper thoroughly gets into his bars. However, don’t let his performance distract you from taking in the heat he spits. Straight fire comes out of J Munn’s mouth and easily sets his opponent ablaze. The wit of J Munn’s lyrical content takes serious jabs at his rival’s core. Each bar is glazed with a touch of disrespectfulness and humor that leaves J Munn’s opponents both flustered and uncomfortable. The artist engagingly taps into the art of battle rap by keeping all eyes on him every time he leans into a round. When J Munn aims, he shoots to kill.
Key bar:“You ain’t a no f*cking thug, I take your diamonds, stripped a bitch like player’s club.”
Ryan Eastlake
Carrying the alias of The King of the Lightskins, Ryan Eastlake never fails to offer both tea-spilling bars and surprises that leave his opponents shook. The battle rapper’s delivery reeks of cockiness which indubitably remains well-learned once he opens his mouth and sets his nemesis on fire. The emcee is at ease with wordplay. Indeed, Ryan Eastlake remains one of Prism’s strongest battle rappers who continues to wow.
Key bar: “I came to bury you in Prism like King Tut.”

It is a sad day for anyone who sees a family home demolished for any reason.  At ReHouse we hope that we are able to help during this time by saving some treasured pieces of that beloved home.  Last week we went to “Grandma’s” house in Elmira NY and did just that.  I don’t know why the house is being taken down, but I do know there were memories made there.  According to Zillow, the house, on Main St, “is a single family home that contains 2,152 sq ft and was built in 1900. It contains 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms.”
The home still featured the original Victorian double entry doors.  Blue on the exterior and cream on the interior the doors are constructed with 2 panels and one upper lite each (#98448).
The interior panels are flat, but the exterior panels are raised with detailed trim.  These giants measure 53.5″ wide by 101.25″ high when placed together.  The door plates, mortises, hinges, and original round doorbell are included for $875.
There was also one pocket door in the home’s interior to a bathroom closet.  This is a beautiful four panel door with gorgeous Eastlake hardware that had been painted over (#98385).
We removed the pocket door handles and mortise, stripped the paint, and put them right back where it came from giving the whole door new life.  This single door measures 29.5″ wide by 89.5″ high is available with the rollers on top for $325.  (Measurement is for door only and does not include rollers height)
Speaking of hardware, all the door knobs in the house were brown swirl porcelain… PAINTED!  Yikes!  We patiently let the Crockpot work its magic and were delighted to discover 12 sets of these after about an hour.  Each set is $20 (#98300).

Another great hardware find was several closets worth of coat hooks.  More specifically cast iron acorn double hooks.  This is a classic antique design, and these are a nice large size at just under 4″ deep.  We did the work of stripping the paint off these for you as well.  Fill your own closet for only $9 each (#98304).

Cast iron is a hot topic at this house, and the coat hooks are just the beginning.  We were able to pull out several heating grates including a large floor cold air return, a few modern grill style wall grates, and the these decorative ones.
Top left: brown, top only, 9.75×11.5, #98325, $25
Center left: natural, top: 10×13.75, insert: 8×12, #98323, $75
Bottom left: some brown paint, top: 12×16, insert: 10×14, #98321, $85
Top right: natural, top: 12×18, insert: 10×16, #98269, #95
Bottom right: white, top: 9.5×11.75, insert: 8×9.75, #98324, $75
Here are a few close-ups for details.
Back outside the cast iron continued in the railings from the front and side porches and stairs.  These are black wrought iron with delightful cast rose accents.  The balusters alternate between straight and twisted and the ends have generous swirl handles.
We have 6 pieces altogether.  The 3 stair pieces measure 48, 60, and 72 inches long and are priced $80, $100, and $120 respectively (#98282, 98238, 98281).  Two identical straight pieces (#98280) measure 30 high and 50 long for $80 each. The largest piece (#98426), shown in the right photo below, is a straight piece with a tall end that would have gone from the porch floor to ceiling similar to a column.  It is 132″ long and the tall end is 112″ high.  This is $320.
Since we are talking about railings let’s take a look at the interior natural wood railing inside the main entrance.  We were able to remove the entire railing, newel post, and balusters.  This is a gem with an elegant design and hairpin turn, not to mention the UNPAINTED wood finish. The railing measures in at 365″ long and includes 59 balusters.  The newel post is 43″ high.  The complete set is priced at $625 (#98277).
Next, join me in the kitchen where we were able to remove a small set of vintage metal cabinets, a cast iron sink, and a built in wood pantry.  The cabinets are a classic vintage style and color with original chrome handles.  The sink base has 4 doors and 2 drawers for versatile storage.  The other 3 cabinets (the one not shown is the same as the bottom one) are all uppers, the smallest of wise could fit over an appliance.
The sink is included in the price.  It is cast iron with a porcelain finish that is in pretty good shape.  The faucets, handles, and sprayer are all included and had been used recently.  The double drainboard means you can have lots of dishes drying at the same time or you can use that counter space for something else.  The whole set (#98428) is priced together for only $425.  What a deal!  Main piece including sink: 54w x 39.5h x 25d.  Smaller cabinet: 18x18x13.5. Larger cabinets: 18x30x13.5.
The built in pantry cabinet is original to the home and has traditional bead-board doors and Eastlake hardware.  It comes apart in 2 sections which makes it easier to move and reinstall.  The upper section has only 2 very tall doors concealing 6 storage shelves.  Are you picturing rows and rows of jams and pickles?  This section measures 41w x 78h x 15d.  The lower section has 2 drawers and 2 doors.  The base is 34h, a great counter height.  The “counter” measures 41.75×20.75 which gives it a slight overhang.
The finish one the pantry was in bad shape, as you can see in the close-up, so we decided to give the piece a face lift.  We used Valspar Furniture Paint in Tea Light for the whole exterior except the “counter” which we sanded down and stained.  I know you want to see it done, but it is still drying.  Check our Instagram feed next week for the reveal.   think you’re going to love it!  Until then enjoy the slide show we’ve posted there of some other smalls we picked up at the salvage job that are available in the store now.
Salvage Job in Elmira It is a sad day for anyone who sees a family home demolished for any reason.  At ReHouse we hope that we are able to help during this time by saving some treasured pieces of that beloved home.
