Script Draft
My Nan hailed from Tooting Broadway and my Grandad from Streatham Hill.
They met in March 1965 at a dance at Burtons on Streatham High Road when my Grandad was 15 and my Nan was 16. My grandparents were keen northern soul dancers. (They still are as much as their dodgy knees let them)
They married a year later and my Nan lived with my Grandad at his parents flat on the Thornton Gardens estate in Streatham Hill.
In 1967 they had their first child, Russell and moved to Vevey Street in Catford.
On the 4th January 1969, my Nan gave birth to Karen Patricia Waite, who 30 years later would give birth to me and become my Mum.
Rewind 40 years, in 1930 London Council signed an Overspill policy, relocating Londoners to different parts of the country due to house shortages.
This policy didn't come into serious play until after the second world war when more than 1 million London homes were destroyed or damaged by bombings.
So the council signed deals with 41 towns to redevelop them in exchange for housing londoners.
Wellingborough was one of them.
So in 1971, my grandparents uprooted their London lives and moved to 171 Minerva Way on the Queensway Estate, Wellingborough. With my 5-year-old Uncle and 3-year-old Mother.
They lived there until 1981 when they moved to another part of London, Dene Close. My mum was 11 at this point.
Then somewhere in the mid 80's they moved back to South London and lived at 59A Oakfield Road, West Croydon. My Uncle and Grandad moved before my Mum and Nan to work with my Grandads brother.
However, they lasted 6 months until they were fed up and kicked their lodgers out of their Dean Close house in Wellingborough and moved back.
They then rented a cottage in Brigstock in 1987, they soon got bored of village life and moved back to Wellingborough to 72 Eastfield Road in 1991, and my grandparents have lived there ever since. This is the house that I hold all of my childhood memories in.
1991 was also the year that my mum met my Dad. They moved in together to a small flat in Kettering (the town that I was born in) that same year, and come 1993 my sister was born.
By this time, my parents had moved to Rothwell to 85 Norton Street, where they stayed until I was 6 months old and then moved to my childhood house (still in Rothwell), 85 Connolly Drive.
Fast forward 20 years, and i've ended up 5.5 miles from the house that my mum was born in, to pursue my 'artist' dream.
This is my first script that i’ve written for my migration story. I wanted to write a narrative first to give me a clear structure of what I need to make my scenes/slides to. The way that i’ve written it would translate as each line break would suggest another scene but i’m not going to be really strict about this when making my work as I don’t want the scenes to be too crowded.

Activities For Goths Of All Ages This is a list of suggestions to help breath life (or is it unlife?) into your local scene. If you have anything to add, feel free to contact our Facebook page.
Visit Your Local Cemetery: Walk around, have a picnic, bring some paper and charcol to make grave rubbings. This is a darkly fun activity that you can do alone, or with a friend or two. NOTE: Please don't litter in the cemetery, be sure to clean up after yourself and be careful not to disturb any graves.
Hold A Seance!: What could be more fun than summoning spirits!? There are a variety of tools at your disposal from Ouji boards, to crystal balls, the possibilites are endless! A few candles and incense as well as a few friends are all that's necessary if you don't have the means to acquire any tools, or hire a medium, however. Don't know how to hold a seance? There are countless books and online resouces to help get the job done, you need simply to start with a Google search...
Have A Fortune-Telling Party!: Telling fortunes is a very fun and spiritual past time. As with holding seances, there are countless tools at your disposal! Tarot cards, pendulums, runes, and crystal balls are but a few tools of the trade, just pick your poison and get to work on mastering your medium! Thriftier options include scrying and palm reading, don't forget your candles and incense. Warning: Please be careful handling candles and incense, observe fire safety rules.
Throw A House Party!: House parties are an ideal way to commune with your local scene if there are no club nights happening in your area. Refreshments and snacks are a must, as is the music of course! This can be done in a variety of ways, booking a DJ or local band is the common method, but if you need a thriftier option, simply play your Pandora playlist or compile several CD's of the classics, load them into your CD changer and hit shuffle! The same can be accomplished with an I Pod or MP3 player attached to a speaker. Place too small? No worries! You can also rent a venue to host your party, VFW's and American Legions are pretty ideal and have a lot of space to dance and mingle. WARNING!: If you are underaged, be wary while attending events that have adults present! DO NOT DRINK OR TAKE RECREATIONAL DRUGS OF ANY KIND! The same advice goes if you are hosting a party for teens, safety should be your first priority.

Serious SoCal Style: 9 Paul Williams-Designed Homes for Sale
realtor.com
Paul Williams was known as an architect to the stars in the ’40s and ’50s, when he designed French chateau, Regency, and Mediterranean-style mansions for the likes of Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Cary Grant, and Barbara Stanwyck.
Williams was the first certified African-American architect west of the Mississippi, and the first African-American member of the American Institute of Architects.
In the 1920s he learned to render drawings upside down because, at the time, many of his white clients felt uncomfortable sitting next to him. Drafting upside down allowed him to sit across the desk from his clients, while they looked at his drafts right-side-up.
He’d go on to work on the design of prominent buildings in wildly varying styles, includingthe retro-futuristic, elevated Theme Building at Los Angeles International Airport; the Saks Fifth Avenue on Wilshire Boulevard; and the Beverly Hills Hotel.
He designed more than 2,000 private homes before he died in 1980 at age 85. Several of them are available today, but you’ll have to spend at least a cool million for the privilege of owning one. Here’s what’s currently on the market for fans of Williams’ architectural style.
205 E 6th St, Ontario, CA
Price: $1,099,000 Design details: Built in 1948, this home is a rare example of one of Williams’ Modernist-style residences, and one of the few in Southern California’s Inland Empire. The three-bedroom was designated as a landmark in 2006, and retains many of Williams’ original design elements, including midcentury fireplaces, cool cabinetry, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

243 Avenida La Cuesta, San Clemente, CA
Price: $3,393,000 Design details: The Goldschmidt house, also known as Casa Tres Vistas, was designed by Williams in 1928 for a wealthy vintner who owned the 11,000 acres that later became the city of San Clemente. The current homeowners have restored the oak and “picket tile” floors, as well as the four balconies with ocean views. Blue agave, palm trees, eucalyptus, stone pine, vegetable gardens, an orchard, and vineyard surround this four-bedroom hacienda.

27784 Hamiltair Dr, Lake Arrowhead, CA
Price: $3,499,000 Design details: Back when the mountain community of Lake Arrowhead was a playground to celebs, Williams designed vacation accommodations like this French country–inspired lakefront cottage, completed in 1940. Its five bedrooms and four baths have been completely renovated, yet its original, gracious country charm has been left intact. Best of all? It sits on 140 feet of lake frontage.

100 Delfern Dr, Los Angeles, CA
Price: $14,495,000 Design details: Williams built this traditional-style manor for Eva Gabor in 1938. Three more structures have been added to the 7,000-square-foot main house over the years: living quarters above the garage, an elaborate pool house, and a greenhouse. This six-bedroom compound is located on a large lot in a swanky neighborhood right off Sunset Boulevard between Beverly Hills and Bel Air, which helps to account for the impressive price.

Price: $29,800,000 Design details: Williams built this Bel Air estate in 1936, and it narrowly missed the wrecking ball in 2007. Sandy Gallin, a famous producer, talent agent, and home designer, purchased it from the estate of actress Jane Wyatt for $8 million. The Los Angeles landmarks review board rejected Gallin’s plans to replace the Williams-designed structure with a modern glass house, so he restored it instead. He increased the home’s square footage, added yoga and steam rooms and a pool, and sold it in 2011 for $21 million. The current owners listed the seven-bedroom estate in May 2017 for $35 million and have since trimmed the price.

Price: $16,950,000 Design details: This one-story home built by Williams in 1940 is a bit of a head-scratcher. The listing states, “Photographs were taken several years ago. House is not in same condition.” What we do know is that the home sits on a large acre lot in the prestigious hills of Brentwood. But when a home is described as a “rare opportunity and incredible value” with “endless options,” you know it’s just waiting for a contractor to come and change everything—although there might be historical limitations.

Price: $4,998,000 Design details: A rare one-story home designed by Williams, this beauty sits on a 3.34-acre lot on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It comes with a guesthouse, tennis court, pool and spa, three-stall barn and paddock, as well as a five-bedroom ranch-style house. Williams also worked as the landscape architect, creating the dramatic tree-lined driveway and the parklike grounds. Price: $8,950,000 Design details: Described as “an exciting opportunity,” this Spanish Colonial–style home could use some TLC. Built in 1930, the five-bedroom main residence still retains original Williams details, including the intricate ceilings, terra-cotta tile floors, and wrought-iron gates and railings. Price: $5,000,000 Design details: Williams built this Hollywood Hills home in 1929. The four-story Spanish Revival has been newly renovated, with the floor plan, grounds, and kitchen substantially updated. You would definitely get something old and something new with this five-bedroom stunner.

651 Siena Way, Los Angeles, CA

7 Oakmont Dr, Los Angeles, CA
Price: $16,950,000 Design details: This one-story home built by Williams in 1940 is a bit of a head-scratcher. The listing states, “Photographs were taken several years ago. House is not in same condition.” What we do know is that the home sits on a large acre lot in the prestigious hills of Brentwood. But when a home is described as a “rare opportunity and incredible value” with “endless options,” you know it’s just waiting for a contractor to come and change everything—although there might be historical limitations.
