The Machine Herald

Alright, I think I'm done with this. Almost lost it at one point, but luckily, I only had to redo 40 minutes worth of work.

It's different than what I usually do, but I wanted to try my hand at the Machine Herald because I really like his design lol.

I did most of the painting while rewatching all of season two again since my nana needed to watch it and I also just wanted another rewatch already lol.

i like rose actually hes full of Concepts. i like how leon could easily remind him of peony and of himself (personality, talented champion / older brother, beloved golden child) and i like how bede could also remind him of them/what his remark about seeing himself in bede could mean if taken as truth (ignored child, desperate to prove his worth / uncompromising confidence, needs to feel in control, perfectionistic) so he gives them both important roles to keep them around. very normal very well adjusted good job man.

swsh should have had 500 more lines of major npc dialogue. also leon and marnie should have talked about the whole being a symbolic king/princess thing. or she could talk to hop about it and he could talk about how he thinks leon feels about it which could be interesting also. even more economic fuckery talk i know its a sports thing but leon's Sponsor Cape drives me a little nuts. catch him between his own hopes/the needs of the league/rose's ideas specifically. he's been champion since he was like 10 right. something like that. im going back in time sneaking into the swsh writers room and taping up a big poster of N Harmonia. how soon we forget Boy King Prime. also pokespe was right rose should just be Objectively Correct about the impending energy crisis, his problem is that he tries to solve everything by himself by manipulating everyone around him, and is cool with putting the whole region in danger if he thinks it will Solve The Problem. his problem isnt being pro-nuclear power his problem is he thinks like a king. ideal swsh is anti-monarchy as well as anti-monopoly it would make more sense.

Yes, I have a lot of Obey Me merch 😅

I got the majority of my collection in Japan, which is probably the main reason why I was able to build a collection of this size. Not only is OM stuff decently easy to find in most major JP anime/game/hobby retailers, it's also MUCH less expensive than it is overseas. I have, no joke, bought many of my acrylic stands for 500-1000 Yen ($3-$6) only to see those exact same acrylic stands being sold online for $30, $40, $50, etc. And that's before you would have to pay for Proxy fees and international shipping to get stuff mailed to your country, as well.

Believe me, I know that I'm incredibly lucky to be able to go to so many JP retail chains in person. It's something that not very many people are able to do, and I'm aware of how much merch is inaccessible to international fans. That's why I enjoy doing Giveaways for OM merch over on my Twitter!

Good places to shop for OM merch online are AmiAmi, Animate Int, Neokyo, Yahoo! Japan, GoodsRepublic, Rakuten, and JDirect. There's plenty of others too, these are just the sites that come immediately to mind. You can also buy some stuff directly from the original JP shops (like MAYLA) because their webstores support global shipping options, but this is somewhat rare. Most sites only offer shipping within Japan.

since ive been in such a jon jarchivist mood lately but can’t do anything about it since the fic rivers aren’t flowing and the podcast is illegal, i finally dug out my ace jon fanart quilt to work on, and got all set up to make a few blocks before i crashed. and it turns out. that either my machine is stupid. or i am. and have forgotten completely how to sew by machine. because the top thread keeps getting knotted up in the bobbin casing and gunking up the whole machine and ripping holes in my fabric. and the top thread also keeps popping off the bits it’s supposed to run through. and i wasted what felt like a hundred yards of thread because of the thread vomit and restarted sewing a 2.5 inch block five times before i just. had to rage quit and walk away. so uh. i might be making another. fucking. quilt. by hand now.

Half done with my mend pile in the 2024 Get Shit Done resolution. Some of these items I haven’t worn in over a year because of the mends, others have been closed with safety pins because I haven’t taken the time to sew buttons on.

Tiber just threw up twice. 🙃 He’s been having really bad diarrhea again today, so I booked a vet appointment earlier for Tuesday, but I think I’m gonna call in the morning and see if I can bring him in tomorrow. He’s had runny stools on and off since we’ve had him, but the texture has been particularly worrying lately and now with the vomit I am worried.

It’s gonna suck since dadtiber is out on a work trip with the car again for the weekend, so we’ll have to walk there. It’s only 20 mins, so not the worst, but a little more than what I usually attempt by myself since my health things have started.
