Shaken awake today by the largest earthquake I've ever experienced, things were falling off the shelves, I got up and blearily stood in a doorframe wondering if this was the end (obviously it was not). There have been a few aftershocks. I hope Hualien has not been flattened entirely.

Also. Thr hair shape!! Is very good!! ! Like how it's spikey but also flowy and like gummies a bit. Soft and stretchy but will revert back to that shape bc its like. Well established. I cannot explain this in human speak u have to accept the artist food metaphors
I especially like in ur y*j sketches the one with glasses and dark hair on top snd those piercings (I RLY have to read up on y*j lore I just need the mental preparation) like its just@!!! It looks so good!!!
I should put kwko doodles into the artbook tag because god knows they're the only decent attempts. Especially compared to. Cough. Everything else yeah
That would be Ume!! It always surprises me when people say they have to catch up on y*j because there's not that much content yet. Except then I look at the blog and. Oops not just little area convos anymore...

I wanted to raise some awareness about this topic because, even if you're not personally affected, it doesn't mean you have to downgrade other people's, mostly if it affects them.
So, in this short, this content creator is making a joke, on how it seems that gen z can't be awaken with any sound unless it's a social media notification from their phone. (Warning, if you consider to watch it, keep in mind that has many triggering sounds)
youtube
This shouldn't be harmful and it hasn't to go further from this joke. Only problem is that, considering this is an American person, I would've expected anything but one sound.
The video starts with a gunshot, then with a tornado alarm, and I personally don't react to these, as in my zone there's not such things as shooting attacks or tornados, but I wasn't expecting the Mexican Seismic Alarm to be played as well. This took me by surprise and even if I consciously knew it was the video I still felt my heart skip a beat.
Even some Mexicans use this sound for pranks, and the alarm may sound hilarious to people who firstly hear it. It sounds something like a "WOWOWOWOWOWOW." But believe me, living an experience as my own turns the alarm into a shot of adrenaline and a fight or flight response on my body.
For those who don't know, my country suffered a terrible earthquake back then in last century's September 19 of '85. Many buildings fell and several people died buried under them. My mom's generation is traumatized.
My generation didn't take it seriously until there was another one of similar magnitude, just exactly on the same date on 2017. A ridiculous coincidence, but even if the number of deceases were less than this earthquake's predecessor, the number was also huge.
So, if you're a content creator, please take into consideration that your experiences differ from others, and that, essentially, sound alarms should be taken seriously and considered trigger inducing for people that might've had experiences related to the threats these alarm sounds warn us off.
Stop taking them as a joke.

diabetes tech is so annoying sometimes like dont get me wrong i love my dexcom & my tslim and im very very thankful that i have them and i understand its a privilege to have access to advanced medical technology
but a lot of the built-in “safeguards” are really annoying and frankly unnecessary for most adults. why is my ability to make my own medical decisions being infringed upon by the manufacturers of the devices that are supposed to be assisting us in our care? why can’t i override or change certain settings if i acknowledge the risk associated with that choice?
#why does dexcom put banners i have to swipe away on top of my maps while i drive even though i have it set to temporary banners only?#why does my tslim have an alarm i can’t turn off that overrides my vibrate setting that goes off every 5 minutes at an extremely loud volume#when my cartridge is empty?#im an adult if i determine it is not urgent to refill my cartridge i shouldnt be punished with alerts i cannot snooze for more than 5 mins.#all of my alerts are set to vibrate only. this one is apparently not affected by that setting. it goes off every 5 minutes.#my blood sugar has been low enough for the past hour that my basal would be automatically set to 0 if there was insulin in my pump 🙄🙄🙄#also its wasteful for me to change my cartridge before its empty? its expensive given the cost of insulin and pump supplies?#like i understand it’s probably to protect the company from liability and litigation if someone doesnt refill their cartridge and goes into#DKA and/or dies but as an adult i should at least have the option to snooze it for more than 5 minutes or have it set to vibrate only when#im not asleep or something?????#what if i have a work meeting and ran out of time to change it beforehand??? is my only option to turn off my pump completely until i can#refill it?#what if i was in an earthquake and my cell phone died and my reservoir was empty but i still wanted to use my pump as a dexcom reciever?#do i and everyone around me during an emergency just have to suffer?#what about school shootings. or any situation where someone needs to hide from a dangerous person?#its just inconsiderate of the REALITY of the fact that people with diabetes live real lives that dont 1000000% revolve exclusively around#their diabetes every minute of every day until we die#its condescending and paternalistic and frankly doesnt prevent harm from befalling us.

To be clear: I don't put "alarms (missiles) on other parts", bc that's the obvious. (Like, already happening).
Disclaimer: PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT AS IDEA .
I handle via humour. And it's easier to make funny bets on "what's next" then think about *looking at the news from last week* (or, well, NOT looking bc PTSD, but yeah).
Thanks.
