Basic Details[ Gender: Female Race: Italian Age: 22

About Persona[ Valleria once worked in a facility that studied disease and toxins. Overtime, she was dissatisfied with her career- eventually leaving suddenly. She travels around on foot looking for something new- and maybe a new purpose.

Characteristics[ Somewhat like my personality- Valleria enjoys traveling, is introverted, and appreciates spooky feelings. She also is goofy at random times- making her an interesting friend. Overall, she's constantly observing the world around. Filled with tenacity.

Things are changing. Just this week, switching THC for Baclofen, then adding back some some hemp- yes, still cannabis, though being under the federal legal limit of 2.5% (the variety I found is just 0.71%) it is technically legal in all 50 states. Also, and it might have been last week, I’ve added back in Tylenol too. I believe I have now succumbed to the fact that my best life will not exist…

Tips on how to get up earlier

1. Find some morning things to look forward to. The sunrise is a classic one. Look for small things that you've never seen before. Stay curious. No matter what the reason you've decided to Get Up Early, try to cultivate small joys in and around it.

2. Set out your breakfast or buy yourself one if you can afford it / things are open. I encourage starting with a "treat breakfast" like a pack of grocery store danishes (it will get you out of bed) and in my experience the shine of the "treat" will wear off and you'll eventually just gravitate towards a healthier / cheaper option once you get used to the schedule. The goal here is to make getting up seem attractive when it's at a very unattractive time.

3. Set out your clothes/bags/pack lunch the night before. Especially relevant if you're trying not to disturb a roommate or partner as you go, and even if not, it'll just save you making annoying decisions at a time when the only goal is to lurch out the door with something resembling your wits about you. It also will let you wake up later if you have no morning tasks apart from eat, grab, go. No task is too small. I take like 5 different vitamins at this point so one of mine is to group all of them together so that I just have to gulp some water and grab them. Especially relevant if you take morning medication!

4. If you drink coffee, find the scheduled brew setting on your coffee maker and set it for when you want to get up. No brainer. The coffee is waiting for you AND it gives you a reason to not ignore that alarm (gotta get the coffee fresh!).

5. When you go to bed earlier (sorry, this is mandatory too. I know it sucks but I promise you'll feel better with good sleep and it's worth it), stay in bed lying down lights out no phone with longer than you might with insomnia. Your body will resist the new sleep time at first (especially if there's other activity in the house). If you calmly but firmly Stay In Bed, eventually it will shift with the early risings to accommodate new Sleepy Time. Investing in good sleep aids (blackout curtains, white noise, earplugs) will also help if you have to fight a roommate's schedule.
