Conspicuous by my absence yesterday. I didn't run, therefore my Marcothon is over. I went for a walk after tea with TGG instead. Walking doesn't cut it in Marcothon. The point is to run at least twenty-five minutes EVERY day in December. I just couldn't make myself do it yesterday. Sometimes I just want to go for a walk with my man and hold hands.

Other than that, it was an okay day. The batteries on my scales have died, so I MUST remember to get some tomorrow. I have to weigh myself again after the Monday figure pissed me off.

I was up at 5.30am an was out the door for a 6.5k run by 5.50am this morning. It was okay. At three of four k, I was asking myself yet again if the twelve k run at the weekend will be possible. So much for the confidence gained by completing that very distance on Sunday, not to mention the great hill session only on Monday night. I can of course do twelve kilometres again.

I got home from work to find a Mancherter marathon training tee shirt had arrived. I won't be able to wear it to club for a while if I'm still intent on keeping schtum about the training, but it was nice to see it.

I was sort of outed on FB, re Manchester though by a comment Coach made under one of my posts and Sonic is now convinced I'm training for a marathon. Of course, she's right, but I'm still not going to tell anyone, not even my family, yet. She asked me about it and I fudged my answers and didn't answer directly. She just said she'd be interested to see my longer runs in future. Fucking hate that. I don't want her checking out my longer runs. I wouldn't have minded if it had happened naturally, but it's come up through a slip of the tongue, and now she'll be looking out for it. I'm considering making my Strava private. And my Garmin connect. I envisage a certain amount of smugness when it turns out she was right. Ah well, can't be helped. And it's my issue. It's not her fault she's right and I don't want her to be.

I started knitting a jumper this evening. How middle aged! It will keep me occupied and stop me eating rubbish after dinner, so I dont care if it makes me seem like a granny.

Danny is glad he actually made a plan for once. Jazz had been on his back about telling their parents he was Phantom, and he had managed to convince her he had a plan. The only thing that would extend how long it took was the frequency of ghost attacks.

He generally didn’t have much free time, so luckily Clockwork was willing to put him in a time bubble so he could get stuff done, like get enough sleep. But mostly he was training. Sometimes with Wulf to make portals, but other ghosts had come by too.

The power that was giving him the most trouble, and that he needed most for his plan was duplication. It took forever and he still couldn’t have more than 3 versions of himself at one time. How Vlad managed so many he had no idea.

Anyway back to his plan. He got all his stuff that he couldn’t afford to lose hidden away, got copies of all his parents blueprints and files, replaced items that he didn’t feel comfortable letting them keep if worse case scenario came, and a few more miscellaneous things.

He decided not to tell Sam and Tucker what he was doing. Though he did give them a mysterious file that they weren’t able to open yet. It would lead them to him later. But he needed their reactions to be legitimate, even if he hated having to potentially distress them for a bit.

He then sent his duplicate in his place back home while he went to the Ghost Zone to keep learning and keep an eye on things. Hopefully things went well, but he planned to spend a full living realm month here just in case his parents faked taking it well.

It did not go well. About two weeks after his duplicate told his parents they knocked him out and buried him in a ghost proof coffin. Was he glad he wouldn’t have to experience his worse fears as a lab experiment? Yes. Was he still going to have nightmares of being trapped underground unable to escape? Also yes.

He was glad it was his duplicate though. It was easy for him to undo from a distance and since they had been connected he still had all the memories. He typed in the code for the file he gave his friends before he left. Time to go to Gotham, the one place he was able to wheedle out of Clockwork would be best for him.

Friday Feeling

Fri 27th Jan ‘23

Whoop whoop. I do love the Friday feeling! What’s not to love? No work for two whole days and more time with The Gorgeous Guy. My runs aren’t rushed and I can take my time in the shower afterwards, as well as have a leisurely breakfast. Yes, life is good.

I’ve been tired the last two days. Really tired yesterday especially. I reckon it’s related to not eating healthily. Yes, I also got up today and yesterday at 5.30 am and went for a run, one of which was quite a strenuous 400s session, but I think it was more down to me eating a shit load of sugar both days and then crashing. I’ve not been great in general the last week or so on the fresh food front, and even worse on the water front, so I need to improve. BIG STYLE! 

The positive part of both days though was despite almost resetting the alarm to sleep another hour and a half, I did not. I managed to get straight out of bed and get dressed before I overthought it.
