"Came back for more, hm?"

Once again, Tartaglia had closed his eyes while sitting against a tree. The very same one, in fact. He smiled.

"Hello again. Enjoy your meal?"

"Yes," came that silvery voice again. "It's not often I stumble upon someone so... understanding."

Tartaglia opened his eyes to meet the vampire's, though the look in its eye was unreadable. Guarded but genuine, if he had to guess. He couldn't fault it for being careful.

"Of course. Why else would you have approached me, or even followed me, y'know?"

"And you were just willing to trust that I wouldn't kill you."

Tartaglia laughed a bit. "I wouldn't have let you."

The vampire rolled its eye. "Right." They both knew that the trance caused by the venom put the ginger in a position where he couldn't think, move, or feel. If it had wanted to kill him, there would have been nothing he could have done about it. "So what brings you back here?"

"We didn't have a proper conclusion last time," he smiled easily. "Or would you rather I phrased it as 'I wanted to see you' instead?"

The vampire shook its head. "Fun as it is, flattery doesn't work on me. It gets old after a while."

"Oh, but I really mean it. I wanted to say thank you." The ginger grinned. "Not often I get to have an exciting night like that."

"Same here." The vampire smiled but it didn't really reach his eyes.

"If I may be so bold, you are quite gorgeous." Tartaglia told him.

"Stop."

Tartaglia raised his hands up a bit in surrender.

"You humans and your weird fetishes. I just wanted to eat."

"Sorry." He frowned slightly, sobering. "But if you need a meal, I'm always here."

"You shouldn't be out here anyway. I took what I needed. You lost a lot of blood. Any sane person would be home resting."

The ginger grinned again. "Aww, thanks. For saying I'm not normal."

"Well obviously." The vampire huffed. "Did you come back because you're cripplingly lonely due to everyone finding you hard to tolerate?"

Ouch. Tartaglia simply chuckled. "Is it so wrong to seek a new friend?"

"It is if you're doing it because you're attracted to me. I don't do relationships. Especially not with humans. Get lost."

"Wow. Cold," Tartaglia smiled. "I get it though. Can we just be friends?"

The vampire stared at him, weighing his options. This could be dangerous, or it could be incredibly convenient. Maybe he would never struggle to find a meal again, or maybe this was a trap with a vampire hunter on the other end.

"My name's Tartaglia, by the way." The ginger man smiled, his voice snapping the vampire out of its thoughts. "You can call me Childe."

"I'll just be calling you Bloodbag until further notice, if I call you anything at all."

"Cold, so cold... I don't even get to know your name?"

"No." The blue-haired vampire averted its eye.

"I see..." The smile never fell from Tartaglia's face. "How disappointing."

"Get used to it." The vampire regarded him blankly. "I never lived to please others."

Before Tartaglia could say anything more, the vampire disappeared with a near-silent swoosh of its wings.

General Info

The Starkerfestivals 2024 Summer Bingo will begin Monday, July 1st, 2024, and run until September 30th, 2024. Each participant will receive a personalized card with a 5x5 bingo of prompts.

Sign Up Form

You can sign up at any point before September 30th, but the event will start July 1st. If you complete the first bingo and want another, please feel free to sign up using the same link. If we do not get back to you with your new card within 24 hours, please send an ask or DM one of the mods.

Note: There are options to apply for NFF, FF, or a mixture of both. If you are under 18, we will only create FF cards for you. If you are 18+, feel free to choose which board you want.

We will start rolling cards out on June 24. The official posting date is July 1st but early signups can ask for any prompt swaps so their card is ready for the official start date 🎉

As mentioned previously, signups will remain open during the entirety of the event. After June 24th, cards will be made and then sent as soon as they're created. Prompt swap requests are also available during the entirety of the event. (These are prompts that you rather change out for something else- DM any mod for these requests).

After July 1st, please give us mods 24 hours to get your card to you, but if it has been over that, feel free to DM one of us or send in an ask.

You can only have one card active at any time. You may ask for another card after you have won your old one. As for a new card, you should receive it within 24 hours.

As a participant, fulfilling prompts can be done at your leisure. We want everyone to have fun, so whether you fulfill 1 or do the entire card, it's up to you! There is no obligation to "win" bingo, but for those who want to go for it:

To "win," you will need to get five in a row via horizontal, vertical, or diagonal means. You can also win by getting the free space and all four corners. Finally, you can get a blackout by completing every square on the board. Visual examples:

What happens now, if this is the last demo?

Good news on that front! You can still expect demos, just not for the first game. I've been working on the Fey minigame and will be posting demos of that as I work on the final chapters of Leas: City of the Sun. There will be previews of other things as well in the upcoming months, but that's all I'll say, since I don't want to spoil anything for now 👀 🤫

Will this blog still update?

Yes, absolutely! You can expect business as usual: weekly writing updates, preview snippets on Sundays, answers to your asks, and news on when chapters have been completed. It'll be easy for you to track progress and know how close the game is to completion.

When will the game be complete?

My original goal was to have it submitted by the end of 2023. I'm still shooting for that, but there's a decent chance it'll take a bit longer depending on my life circumstances. I'll keep everyone informed on chapter-by-chapter progress here, so you'll always have a good idea of how things are going.

Will there be any major changes to the existing demo between now and the game's launch?

Probably not. With this demo I feel like I really ironed out everything. I've got the right elements in place to set up the final chapters and future story plots, and the character voices feel solid. So while there may be minor changes to wording here and there, the core of the story should remain the same 🙂

Happy 2 Years, To Be Alone 🎉🎉

Thanks to the lovely Flor @raincoffeeandfandoms and her decision to include my OC Celia Farraday in her OC asks that she has been sending out, I realized that I posted the first chapter of To Be Alone two years ago today.

This story was my first endeavor into the world of fic writing for Peaky Blinders, and it was the first story I’d written in a few years. On top of that, it was the first time I’d ever posted a piece of my writing on Tumblr — I remember being so nervous about getting it right but at the same time so very excited to be writing again. My goodness what a journey I’ve been on since I posted that first chapter.

I’d like to quickly shoutout some of the people who have been supporting me since the beginning, because if it weren’t for you showing interest in my story, I’d probably not still be posting on here. @mootiemoose (you were my first follower after I posted my story, the first username I added to a taglist and the first person to comment on it — I’ll remember that forever), @theshelbyclan (you were the first big Peaky blog to share my story — thanks for giving me the recognition) and @look-at-the-soul (you were the first mutual that I really talked to and built a friendship with) — I know there were others who have been along for the ride with me from early on and this post would get super long if I listed everyone…my heart goes out to ALL OF YOU. Thank you for joining me in this fic writing journey!!

So I figured I’d do something special for Celia on the 2nd anniversary of her story beginning … after so much scrolling on Pinterest and many different Google searches, I think I’ve finally found a faceclaim for her ………..

Everyone, meet Celia Rose Farraday!!!!

This is Rose Williams as Charlotte Heywood from the series Sandition. The time periods aren’t the same, but I felt that she could mesh well into canon. — the only thing I believe may be different is that Celia has hazel eyes.

The second I saw a picture of her smiling, I just knew that she had to be Celia’s faceclaim — her smile instantly made me feel happy and that’s exactly what Celia did while I was writing her story, and as I’ve gone back and re-read her story.

I hope you’ll also find that she fits the part!!

I’ve also been in the process of giving the story a facelift and fixing minor things that I’ve been able to find. I’m only on Chapter 7 with that because I’ve actually started reading the story (because I haven’t read it since I posted it on here). So if you see some formatting changes, this is why!

My absolute favorite fic from you is prefects and t(h)reats, and I remember sending an ask to you about it. I still think about the fingering scene from time to time, and it's my most beloved Seonghwa fic 💕 Some of my other favorite fics including in vino veritas (dilf Hongjoong? 2. hobbies

Aside from writing and reading, I love to draw, I do nails, I play games (I am playing Witcher 3 again, that game has me in a chokehold), I assemble and paint Warhammer 40k figurines, recently I've been playing lots of Dress to Impress (DON'T JUDGE ME <333), and I sometimes do embroidery :)

10. how i got into writing

I started writing very early (my Wattpad says joined 2011, I am 21 now.), simply because it was my escape into the worlds I was writing (being sold do one direction and all that lol), then it evolved into writing things I wanted to read but didn't exist, and that's what I still do. I wish to read something. It doesn't exist? No problem. I will do it myself!

14. tell me your favourite recipe

Ooo I have another one.

I use store bought puff pastry, dice chicken breast in thin slices like you do for wok, smother it in curry, paprika, salt, pepper and a bit of chilli, fry it, then put it in the rolled out puff pastry, I use store bought curry and mango paste and put it on one side of the puff pastry, and then close it and shape it like a calzone, put it in the oven/air fryer, and devour it. :)

I’m like 16k words into my next novel (working title This Edge of Midnight), super close to the end of Part 1! A few notes:

After I finished Waxed and Feathered I told myself I’d never do long chapters again because it was such a headache to edit and then immediately threw myself into another long-chaptered project 🫠 Ah well, at least it’s a LITTLE shorter—W&F’s Acts come out to like 25k words on average while I’m predicting closer to 20k max with TEOM. I think it’ll also just have a more reader-friendly structure in general, as once Part 2 begins it’s going to be broken up into short scenes with subheadings.

I found out ~10k words in that copyright for song lyrics is a fucking nightmare that makes no sense and works only to censor art and bring more money in for massive labels. Fuck copyright sincerely. Basically: Song titles and allusions to songs in a work of fiction are fine, song lyrics themselves are not. So for example, I can state in the story that Eris is listening to “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell and describe the song, but if I actually write out the lyrics record label Some Bizarre could hypothetically sue for copyright infringement. I’m at least grateful that I learned quickly so that I could pivot quickly. Nothing of too much value is lost at this point. I’d originally wanted to interweave lyrics to “Friday I’m In Love” into Part 1, but instead that just became the chapter title, lol.

On that note, I do want to ask Chris Connelly personally for his blessing to use “This Edge of Midnight” as a book title. As previously stated I do not need copyright permission to use a song title so this would be purely out of respect, not necessity. I don’t want to do this just yet though, as I’m still so early into the first draft of this project. Gonna wait until it’s actually gearing up to be published—hopefully it won’t take 7 years again 😭 Also speaking of that, happy birthday Chris!! 🥳🎉

I’m also really excited to finally be at a point where I’m introducing more of my characters into the story! So far we have my protagonist Mickie, who’s a mixed rivethead witch in her early 20s. She’s very withdrawn and avoidant, she uses magic to kinda deflect from dealing with her own emotions (like “hmm I’m feeling weird maybe a tarot reading will tell me why” ykwim lol). Her boyfriend Zeph is this grungy post punk guy who plays guitar and works at an animal shelter. Their mutual best friend is a bisexual dancer named Jasmine who’s this very 90s Switchblade Symphony type goth girl, really sweet and bubbly but objectively more put together than Mickie or Zeph. And we JUST met Chauce who’s this laidback punky tguy drug dealer and Foxy who’s a pretentious vampire goth event promoter. Pretty soon we meet Eris, the gay former frontman of Mickie’s favorite electroindustrial band that broke up 5 years ago and has since become washed up and strung out, and Genie and Star, a white hippie couple who pride themselves on selling ethical drugs and love gentrification. It’s a really fun cast of characters and I’m really excited for everyone to see them brought to life!! :D

(I typed this up for my Japanese study log lol but it was so funny to me, I figured I'd also share it here)

Okay, so...

I was looking at my Japanese study Notion library page and kind of wanted to clear out a slot for Dungeon Meshi, since I wanted to be able to track my progress with the chapter count. I’d had 女装してめんどくさい事になってるネクラとヤンキーの両片想い ("Crossplay Love: Otaku x Punk" in English) volume 3 in there since literally the day I created that page, I think. I had sort of given up on it last year because it was too hard for me to read at the time for what my level of investment was in the story, plus I got sort of busy with the translations and ran out of time/energy for manga reading projects, so I’d basically shelved that book for the time being.

I had gotten like halfway through the volume already, though, so I thought why not just read the rest of it so that I can move it out of my currently reading section? So I started reading it again and abruptly realized that I didn’t super remember a lot of the details in the story. At the time when I had started reading it, volumes 1 & 2 had been translated into English, but 3 hadn’t been translated yet, hence why I had picked it up in Japanese. Fortunately for me, though, the English translation has gotten a lot further now!

So what I did was speed-read up to the chapter I left off in English, then I finished the volume in Japanese. Hooray! I could remove it from my currently reading section!! 🎉

Except… after finishing volume 3, I wanted to know what happened next, so I just kept reading (in English) and quickly finished volume 4, then 5, 6, 7…

(You can probably guess where this is going.)

I reached the end of volume 7 and was like “aw man, I want to know what happens next, but I’m not sure if I care enough about this series to take the time to read it in Japanese… I’d rather just wait and read the English translation of this one and spend my energy on things like Dungeon Meshi instead.”

But I have spectacularly poor impulse control when it comes to this sort of thing, so just like what compelled me to buy volume 3 in the first place, of course I ended up caving immediately and buying volume 8 in Japanese, and I ended up back in the exact situation I had tried to resolve in the first place, with the series still technically on my currently reading list… 😩

Thankfully, my Japanese is better now than it was a year ago, and I can read manga way faster now, so I ended up sort of, uh, inhaling the series, or at least reading it about as fast as it was humanly possible for me to read it. In English, I can easily tear through a volume of manga in under half an hour. In Japanese, it probably takes me like 10x that.

I was on a bit of a deadline because I’m trying to stay super caught up on the TJPW translations to the best of my ability, so I had a narrow window between finishing the previous translation (for the last VOD show after the VOD went up on Wrestle Universe) and getting started on the next translation (which is for another VOD show, so I usually wait until the show gets uploaded before I start translating it, which is usually three days after the show happened).

I finished my first draft of the 2.17 show translation on Tuesday, February 20 (the day I watched the VOD), got my questions posted by early Thursday, and got it edited and published by early Friday, which was the date of the next show (with a 3-day timer after that until the VOD goes up and I need to drop everything else to translate).

So I had roughly a 5-ish day window with essentially no translation workload. I read a chapter of Dungeon Meshi, then finished 女装してめんどくさい事になってるネクラとヤンキーの両片想い volume 3, then ended up reading volumes 8-12 in Japanese basically as fast as I could because I was invested in the series and I also really didn’t want to have to stop reading to work on my translations (the surprise 2.26 press conference from TJPW happened fortuitously at the end of this period). In total, I think I finished five volumes in about four days.

…And the huge reveal that I’ve been waiting for the entire series, which is the main reason why I felt compelled to read on, still hasn’t happened 😩. Never start reading a slowburn romance when the story is still in progress… 😔

I saw at the back of the manga that the series apparently updates on the fourth Monday of every month, so I ended up finding it on pixiv, and I got there just in time for chapter 107’s release (volume 12 ends with chapter 105, so there are two new chapters available on pixiv), so I’ve now read literally every chapter currently available.

I’m in the same boat as the Japanese fans now, I suppose! Waiting a whole month to get drip fed a little bit more of the story at a time… It brings me back to my days of following webcomics as they were happening, which I was never very good at, so we’ll see if I fare better reading serialized manga.

I guess to review 女装してめんどくさい事になってるネクラとヤンキーの両片想い, difficulty-wise, I found it honestly harder than Dungeon Meshi, because even though it takes place at a high school and theoretically has more normal vocab, like every single character in the story talks weird in way that is totally different from how the other characters talk weird, and there’s far more slang and stuff written out in a way that isn’t super parseable by Yomichan (which I'm able to use on the book thanks to Mokuro). So my lookup tools didn’t account for my weaknesses nearly as well as they did with Dungeon Meshi.

I can see why I dropped it last year, because I lacked some of the grammar back then that I understand a lot better now. It’s the kind of story that is best enjoyed as easy reading, so once you take away the ease of reading, I think it’s hard to push through the difficulty in order to keep going.

Reviewing the story purely in terms of enjoyability, well, obviously I did enjoy it, haha! It’s a very unique story and it went to some surprising places in terms of the themes and story developments, considering the fact that most of the plot revolves around what I can only describe as Shakespearean comedy levels of ridiculous crossdressing drama.

The main point of interest to me was the LGBTQ themes, and I would say that it honestly surpassed my expectations there. We’re not at a point where “these characters are trans” is part of the explicit text of the story (and it might never go there), but the main relationship is gay no matter how you slice it, haha, and there’s another major character whose story reads as very much a trans narrative, and there’s a canonical lesbian couple as well.

Something I really appreciate about it is that interactions with those characters are some of the major driving forces in the relationship between the two main characters. Like, there’s a sense of commonality and shared experience between them and those other characters, and sometimes a sense of alienation and yearning at what the others have, which the main characters feel that they’ll never get to experience because they’re trapped in a situation where they can’t be their authentic selves.

A friend asked me how yuri it is, and honestly I'd say very? I don't think it bills itself as either GL or BL (and people who read exclusively either would probably both be unsatisfied with it). But to me, the core relationship and the conflicts that the characters increasingly grapple with as the story goes on feels more like the kind of thing you’d see in yuri. There’s a whole lot of yearning.

I was amused by this panel from volume 8 because there’s some slang in there and a few non-WaniKani/non-textbook words, but I’d learned literally all four of the new words from translating TJPW, including the one with a non-WK kanji in it (and two of the words were tricky translations so I remember them pretty clearly haha), so I was able to instantly read this panel without needing lookups:

If I'd timed it a bit better and waited for a 50% coinback sale on Bookwalker, I could've gotten a great deal on it lol but I was too impatient to wait fdjkghdfjkg. At least the Japanese edition is way cheaper than the English one...

CHAPTER UPDATE: If Only You Believe in Miracles So Would I + Some Art

So today I’m here to talk to yall about some story and some art… Yep! Art! If yall didn’t know, I do some drawing every once in a while and I can say I’m quite proud of what I’ve cooked up! Finally, FINALLY! Got my vision of Edward Camargo all drawn up, AND it matched the vision. I’ve drawn him a few times and they all looked similar, but the style just wasn’t matching the image in my head. But miraculously… I did a style change and it was perfect. I’m more happy with one side then the other, bUT it still looks fantastic. So without further ado…. TADA!!🎉

I’m very happy with how he turned out 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️

He’s probably my favorite OC I’ve created in some time. But this is yalls holiday gift from me! Also as a small early celebration of (somehow!) making it to almost a year of this story being posted on AO3! Which… makes it almost 4 years since I’ve started working on this behemoth, or at least 2-3 years between my self procrastination 😅

But glad to say that my work does give me the space to focus writing in between my job lol. So I can really work out those rewriting sections and hopefully get a few more chapters ahead between each postings… which will probs still remain on a holiday/special day. I’ve still got a lot of sections to rework and rethink. And when you get AO3 cursed too, well, posting makes me nervous haha. But I do it, cause yolo.

That being said! I do have a chapter for everyone! Surprise 🎉🎉

Chapter 6: Will Nature Make A Man Of Me Yet

I hope yall enjoy it. It’s definitely more filler than I was planning but I think we needed some different POVs and some lighter stuff before diving back into slightly harder subjects. And I wanted some silly moments with Severus and Edward 🥰 need to lay more pillars before I can get the rest of the walls to hold without falling over, especially before I can get the roof in without it collapsing into itself. Ya know.

Good progress on the editing today…I completed my read-through of the entire fic 🎉 Only one or two more egregious typos 😂 Mostly tightening some language or clarifying bits, adding a few descriptors, and even unwinding a few of my worst meandering, complex-thought sentences. It’s great coming at things again with fresh eyes after a break of a few days. Nothing seemed really awkward or confusing, and tightening things here and there helped places that could be a tiny bit confusing (again, hooray for fresh eyes).

A couple of small, fun additions, too…brief lines/thoughts for Lizzie and Josie that add some depth, and a really nice callback for Penelope that just popped into my head 😀 (and almost no scene surgery needed!).

I’m pretty sure I know where I’m going to break the first chapter, after about 2K words. After that, though…ugh. There’s a good break after 8K more words, but I really want to split that in half-ish, so I’m going to have to reread that or something…and then another 5K words into the end, which I’m OK with if I can’t find a good place to break that chunk further. Need more fresh eyes. (Ideally, at 15K total words, I’d break into three roughly-5K chapters, but that’s not where things fell logically.)

This is my first time editing something this long all at once, which…was a not-fun taste of what’s to come on my long, long WIPs. Definitely easier to go chapter-by-chapter on something this long. On the other hand, 1) I had no idea where chapter breaks might be when I was writing, 2) I definitely improved things, including a host of spots in the early ~⅓ of the fic, while writing the latter ⅔ of it, and 3) I had no idea it would ever be this long! 😳 I was expecting a 4, 5, maybe 6K-word fic 😂 (It’s a different manifestation of the phenomenon that any time I start writing and publishing a fic with what I think is a fixed chapter count, it will spawn at least one new chapter before I’m finished writing 😂)

At any rate, that’s where things are tonight. I should be able to post the first chapter tomorrow 🤞 and figure out the other breaks sometime next week, knock on wood.

happy new year! for once i did Not start the year sick, and it's been a surprisingly good month for writing so far.

some miscellaneous updates:

i pledged for get your words out for the first time this year! i went with the smallest habit pledge at 120 days, since i have no idea what 2024 is gonna throw at me but i'd still like to keep writing when i can. i've already worked 9/10 days for this month, so off to a great start 🎉

Sunday Fic Update: December 31, 2023

Happy New Years Eve, everyone! This is the last update of the year, too. I have a fair bit to tell you guys.

@stormkitty97 and I did a few more voice chatting sessions this week. While we didn't do it as many times as I hoped, including one time where Storm's internet crashed part way through, we still got a fair bit done. We finished off chapter 4 of our Descendants story. I completed one of the Heartslabyul chapters that required more intensive rewrites. Granted, I still have a few more of these left, but I still made a fairly huge dent in things and it makes me more hopeful about finishing this up before Valentine's Day.

I also made some strides on my own on the edits, so 2/3s of Heartslabyul is in present tense. I made some edits on my own. I also around half way done chapters 1 and 4 of Pomefiore, which is a good thing since I want to get to chapter 4 before posting shit up for that.

I have some ideas for fics in this fandom. For one, I'm waiting for all of the parts of the game to come out early next year before outlining it, and for the other I want to get Pomefiore done before working on it to give you guys more context and avoid some of the more massive spoilers for that arc. The former could possibly come out in the new year, but we'll see.

With this year coming closer and closer to closing up, I want to thank you guys for enjoying my works. Seeing you guys engage with my shit and giving me feedback by leaving comments or kudos means a lot to me. I admit writing is one of the things that keeps me going. Probably all of my early works tbrh. But I've decided to leave them be because AO3 is an archive not only for the main purpose of fandom creations, but also it acts as a sort of time capsule for authors who have been writing for a long time -- meaning, when I read my old works I get to see how far I've come as an author and that's really important to preserve. Although I would love to re-write some older stuff, I'm not going to because to me, preserving that writing in it's original form is really important to serve as a reminder of my progress as a writer.

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?

Oh godddddddddddddddd, You KNOW I'm gonna talk about [Between You and Me]. When I wrote the original one-shot, I decided to play around with flashbacks used to progress the narrative and build tension. It worked really well and I truly adored that formatting, but THEN I decided to expand this one-shot into what would become my 3rd longest fic to date. And in doing so, I chose to stick with the flashback format in every chapter. It was INCREIDIBLY TEDIOUS to plan the chapters with multiple timelines and threads that wove the story together. Thank goodness for you and Doom Them for always listening to me scream about how frustrating it was to plan that fic, especially since both JJ and Tara kept having other ideas about where the story was going. This is one of my FAVE things I've ever written and I think it's a damn shame more people aren't shipping JJ/Tara because 1) they're an amazing ship 2) y'all are missing out on this fic which is honestly fucking amazing.

🌿how does creating make you feel?

As an ADHD/Autistic who struggles with self-worth and tons of mental health shit -- creating feels AMAZING. I felt really lost the last couple of years, because it's the first time since I was 15 that I haven't had a job. I was fired from my dream career unexpectedly at the end of 2020 and I felt so aimless/worthless for the following couple of years. Then one day last July, I opened a new document and started writing again. I was terrified to try to do something I'd been completely unable to engage with in nearly seven years, but I wrote anyway. And like I said in the first reply, my first couple of fics after coming back are a bit rough around the edges and now when I read them, I can see how much I've grown even in the nine months since I started posting again. I'm extremely lucky to be able to write full-time now. I wake up, have breakfast, do my morning routine, then sit down at my desk and write all day. It's very much my 'job' now and when my routine gets interrupted, or I'm having a bad chronic pain day, or I can't write for whatever reason -- I get SO restless, cranky and irritable. Writing brings me endless joy, I love what I do for a living and I am just so grateful to be able to focus on my special interest full-time. I love how many amazing friends I've met over the past nine months, you all have brightened my life even further and I am forever in awe of all of you.

Oh goodness, celebrate is not the term I would use. For sure there is usually a bit of a proud moment when I look at a complete fic and get to move it out of my 'WIP' tag in Evernote, but I always end up getting what I call 'completion crash'. For the few days after finishing a long fic, I usually have no motivation to write and I feel really lost and sort of go through a mini-grieving process because I've gotten to know the characters and I've been so wrapped up in their heads for weeks or months at a time, it's difficult to say goodbye to them. In terms of being able to give myself credit and validation for doing incredible things...I'm still working on that bit.

"Hey, Babe. Guess who just commented on my post?" You look at Miles and show him your post.

"GLEN FREAKING POWELL. THAT SON OF A GUN!!" You laugh a little at Miles's reaction. "We should go watch it with him. Let's FaceTime to see if he's awake."

As Miles gets his phone from his nightside table, he opens his phone and goes through his contacts, and finds Glen Powell. He then clicks on FaceTime and waits for him to answer. "Hopefully he answers-"

"MR MILES TELLER!!! How are you, buddy? What's the reason you're calling me at this hour?" Glen says with his famous smile. He knows exactly why he's calling him.

"Doing good. I saw that you commented on my lady's Instagram post." He looks at you and then looks at Glen. "So do you want to watch the first game of the World Series together?"

"Yeah, I would love to. It could be a double date with my girl too." He gets up from where he was sitting at then goes to find his girl. "Hey, Sam. What are you going?"

Glen sees Sam finishing cleaning the dishes when he finds her. "I just finished cleaning. What's up?" He then faces the phone to them and they see Miles and Y/N on the screen. "Hi Miles. Hi Y/N. Long time no see!"

Y/N takes Miles's phone to go talk to Sam. "Hi, Sam! I know. We haven't seen each other in so long. How are you?"

"I’m doing good. Just finished cleaning. How are you guys? Why are you guys calling at this hour?” Sam asks them. With Glen in Texas and you guys in Philadelphia, the time difference was 1 hour.

“We’re doing good, just got back from the Phillies game. I posted a photo of me and Miles at the game on Instagram and Glen decided to comment on that post. So we were wondering if you guys want to watch the 1st game of the World Series?” Y/N explains to Sam why they’re calling at this hour.

Sam looks at Glen and he gives them a smirk. “Well I have nothing going on next week. It’s usually Glen’s schedule that’s difficult to make plans.” Sam explains to the couple on FaceTime.

“Let me go email my assistant and see if I have anything scheduled this week.” Glen gives Sam the phone so he can email his assistant on the computer.

“Who’s playing at the World Series this year? Sorry I don’t really know baseball” Sam asks Y/N as she sits on the couch.

“Astros vs Phillies. The first game is in Texas so we’re going to have a mini vacation over there for the weekend.” Y/N tells Sam the plan.

“That’s nice. You guys deserve it.” As Sam says that Glen walks in and sits next to them. “So what did your assistant say?”

“She said I’m not busy that day so that’s perfect.” Glen says happily.

“Yay. I’m so excited.” Y/N says until she yawns. “Sorry I’m just tired.”

“It’s okay. We should let you go. You’ve had a long night at the game.” Sam says as they see you yawn more.

“Well goodnight guys. See you when the Astros win at the game.” Glen says with his famous smirk.

Miles laughs when Glen says that, “Haha you wish. See you when the Phillies win.”

After they say goodbye, you and Miles go to sleep.

A Week Later

It’s been a week since you guys FaceTimed Glen and Sam. You guys texted each other during the week and said to meet each other at the stadium.

You and Miles arrive at the stadium in your limousine. Miles was wearing his all-out Phillies outfit while you wore a simple outfit with a Phillies hat. You may love your boyfriend but the only Phillies you are going to wear is your hat.

“Are you ready sugar?” Miles asks you.

“Ready as I’ll ever be Hot Stuff.” You kiss Miles and he opens the door and gets out of the car first. He gets out of the car, takes your hand and leads you out of the car and into the stadium.

“You okay sugar?” He says while you walk to your seats. You nod yes as you guys walk to you find your seats.

As you find your seats you see Glen and Sam. Glen was wearing an all-Texan outfit while Sam was wearing a simple outfit.

“Hey y’all!” Glen says as he gets up and hugs you guys. After you hug him you guys hug Sam. “So glad we get to spend time together.”

“I know,” Miles says to Glen as he helps you sit right next to Sam.

“How are you doing Sam?” You ask them.

“Doing good. There’s a lot of people here.” Sam says to Y/N.

“Oh yeah there’s always a lot of people especially during the World Series. But that’s the normal at Dodgers Stadium.” You laugh a little when you mention the Dodgers. “I never imagined myself wearing a Phillies hat one day.”

“I don’t know much about baseball except what you post on Instagram about the Dodgers," Sam tells Y/N.

While you and Sam were talking you hear Glen say something about girls liking sports to Miles. "You know guys like girls who like sports."

"That's true. That's why I fell in love with Y/N at the wedding we went to. She was watching the Dodgers vs Angels game." Miles tells Glen why how he fell in love with you.

Y/N butts her head into the conversation. "I'm surprised you remember that Hot Stuff considering you were drunk and was dancing to Single Ladies."

"I remember a tiny bit from that night but I knew you were the one when you went to a Phillies game with me the next day." He smiles at you and then looks back at Glen. "I agree with you Glen."

"Are you kidding me?"

Glen looks at Sam who just said that. "They do Sam."

"Guys think they like girls who like sports but they actually like is a girl in a very tight sports jersey serving them wings and getting the terminology wrong. Guys like girls who like guys who like sports. That's why I love you, Glen." Sam tells Glen and the couple.

"That's also true too," Glen smirks at Sam. "Love you, Sam." He then gives them a kiss.

FIRST ANNOUNCER: WELCOME TO THE FIRST GAME OF THE WORLD SERIES, EVERYONE!!! THE TEAMS WE HAVE TONIGHT ARE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES *the Phillies fans cheer* AND THE HOUSTON ASTROS *the Astros fans cheer*

SECOND ANNOUNCER: We have some special celebrity guests in the stadium tonight. MILES TELLER AND GLEN POWELL FROM TOP GUN MAVERICK!!! *the crowd cheers and Danger Zone plays in the stadium*

The stadium cameras point to Glen and Miles and they stand up. A staff member goes to where they’re sitting at and gives them microphones.

“Hey y’all who’s ready for the Astros to win!!!” Glen speaks through the microphone. The whole crowd of Astros fans start cheering.

“Nah this can’t be happening. Who’s ready for the Phillies to win!!!” Miles says through the microphone and the section of Phillies fans start cheering. They were louder than the Astros fans.

“It sounds to me that the Phillies fans are louder than the Astros.” Y/N says to Miles and he smiles at you.

Glen and Miles looks at each and then say this together. “Who’s ready to play ball!?”

Tenth Inning

It was the tenth inning, the Phillies and Astros were tied 5-5. You guys were nervous until J.T. Realmuto capped off the comeback win in the 10th inning. All the Phillies fans including you and Miles were cheering; Glen however wasn’t.

Sam was hugging him as he was eating his Dip in Dots in sadness. Sam may not know how big this was to him but they knew their comfort was needed right now.

“It’s okay Glen. There’s always the next game.” Glen looks at Sam and gives them a smile.

“Hey, are you guys doing good?” Miles asks once the crowd started to die down and was leaving.

“Doing okay. Let’s get out of here and go eat?" Glen asks the group and they say yes.

After leaving the stadium you guys go to a classic Texas barbecue restaurant and had the best time of your life.
