whoops only just saw this now since i can only see submissions on desktop not on mobile but i'll try my best to summarize most of my thoughts

SHE'S SO GORGEOUS AND PINK I LOVE HER!!!

first of all, i think it's a gorgeous doll. not a collector myself, but if i was, i would buy it in a heartbeat. anything was a step up from the budget doll lines from eah that cupid was last in so i'm thankful for that. (also, not an expert on fashion or dolls. so please take my review with a grain of salt)

i like the theming/style that they went with her doll. the style of french rococo is very much romantic and whimsical and i think it pairs well with cupid's character motifs and imagery. though the style isn't 1:1 to rococo fashion, the inspiration is still very much there. the hair and the dress pair very well and i think it's a great design.

while i like it overall, i'm kind of iffy about some of the little details:

(1) in her previous mh dolls, her hands faded to black. a nod to her heritage as a bone elemental. in this new doll, only her legs fade to black while her arms don't. i don't understand keeping this feature for one set of limbs but not for the other. either keep it for both or remove it for both. or maybe find another way to showcase she's an elemental. but kind of a sloppy design choice imo.

(2) another one i don't like is the hot pink accessories on her!!! not to be a nitpicker, but this shade of hot pink/fuschia is not cupid's palette. her previous dolls (not counting the budget ones) pretty much stuck to her shades of pink (bubblegum, coral, light pink) which i think better suit her. also her accessories have been consistently bronze (or black) which fits her ancient greek background. and she's pretty much the only mh girl in g1 to utilize bronze. she is not a hot pink girl!

(also having her headband be the same color range as her hair makes it blend into the background and doesn't help it pop. the hot pink makes it look a bit cheap and i'd rather the accessories be in the shade of bronze in the other pics.)

(3) i also don't like her new cupid's bow lips. i prefer the old one and the bright taffy pink doesn't suit the rest of the doll. i think a more rose pink would have been better to suit the red heart. or keep the background of the heart uncolored like the g1 doll.

and so as not to end on a sour note, i saved the new things i liked for the end!

(1) her new wings! oh my ghouls just absolutely beautiful! very much reminds me of rococo pattern. i could see this in the wallpaper or metalwork of the rococo period. the entire shape of the wing is a heart and the curls inside are in the shapes of heart too. the mantua of her dress is also in hearts which is just so pretty.

(2) her new shoes! so pretty. the platform of the heel is in the style of ancient greek columns which is an amazing detail. the straps of the shoes look to be made of braided rope which is what greeks used to tie their chitons/tunics with is also another great detail. the heel of her shoes is also a bow and arrow! while i do miss her winged shoes from previous dolls, she can still fly without them and i think this is an equally great shoe. (ashlynn would be proud.)

(3) her new hair and her eye makeup!!!! the new hair is gorgeous and beautiful and has so much volume. while best curls and volume of all time (for me), still goes to honey swamp, cupid is very much the runner up. i also adore the different shades of pink in her hair as opposed to her one shade of pink hair from last time. her eye makeup is also so pretty! the blue eyeshadow brings out her eyes and i love the hearts around her pupil and the hearts around the edges of her eyes! sooooo pretty.

tldr: a gorgeous doll, some details i don't like, but very much love the larger changes they made

EAH Dorm Rooms Headcanon 6

Lizzie & Duchess

Two royal princesses with bad streaks for the price of one.

At the beginning of the school year Duchess and Lizzie (among others) were the most unlikely of roommates. Duchess found Lizzie messy and envied her since Daring had a crush on her. Lizzie found Duchess and the rest of her peers strange due culture clash and felt betrayed during 'Next Top Villian'. Afterwards the two became friends.

We've seen more of Lizzie's room than Duchess, but we got hints of their room in the books. Despite both being royalty their room seems to be on the small size.

Lizzie's side: As the future Queen of Hearts, Lizzie lives and breathes her royal heritage.

Lizzie's room is covered in motifs that fit the Queen of Hearts motifs with the checkered patterns, cards, and hearts.

In her room Lizzie has plants that represent Wonderland. Lizzie and the rest of the Wonderlanders take care of the Wonderland Grove. In the books Lizzie has a heart shape door (not seen in the show) that is a portal to the Grove whenever Lizzie feels homesick.

The Wonderlanders are known to be messy and in the book it was stated that Lizzie had a hard time getting ready in the mornings, piles of items, a heart shaped bean bag (that sounds so cute),and no matter how many times the cleaning fairies/staff came Lizzie's side would return to its usual mess.

Due to the room size Lizzie has a wardrobe where she stores her clothing, shoes, and books. This is also where Lizzie stores the map book to the Well of Wonder. From what it seems the wardrobe is kinda small with not enough room for a fashionista's outfits. Unless, it only looks small and is bigger on the inside or when Lizzie wants a certain outfit, she commands the wardrobe and it appears.

Lizzie has a craft desk where she designs her outfits and sews them for herself and her friends.

In the Spring Unsprung playset we get a glimpse of Lizzie's craft desk. wardrobe, and dresser. From the image we see numerous materials that is used for making outfits.

My headcanon is before she and the others evacuated to Ever After the sewing machine, her mother's instruction cards, and the map book were the only things Lizzie was able to carry with her.

Even though it wasn't shown, I bet Lizzie keeps her croquet equipment in her side of the dorm.

Lizzie's hedgehog, Shuffles, is one of the few pets that lives in the dorms. I think she stays in a cage on Lizzie's nightstand.

Duchess's side: Despite being a princess Duchess's story has a downer ending. As the future Swan Princess, Duchess's room centered on ballet.

I highly doubt Duchess's room resembled the above image and not because it was used to decorate dorms on the website. I can see the wallpaper being that shade of lavender with the decorative swirls like the other dorms.

Like most of the students I think she would have a canopy bed do to her royal blood. And would have furniture and decorations that swan, feathers, and ballet motifs.

In the books Duchess keeps her side of the dorm clean, has a desk where she keeps her golden journal that is enchanted to only open for her to write about what she's feeling.

Get a good look at it folks! The vanity is a blink-and-you'll-miss moment in 'Spring Unsprung' when Apple escapes before Lizzie, Maddie, Bunny, and Alistair arrive to get Lizzie's map book. Lizzie's wallpaper extends to Duchess's side of the dorm, this is obviously an animation goof and the animators were most likely crunched for time.

For the record I do not know how to make high-quality screenshots and I looked everywhere for this image so I made one myself (SERIOUSLY! How do people make high-quality screenshots?)

With Duchess's love of dance I think the space across from Lizzie's craft desk is like a ballet bar with mirrors that resemble a dance studio along with her desk.

Duchess's trumpeter swan, Pirouette, is one of the few pets that lives in the dorms as she has a nest next to Duchess's bed.

EAH Dorm Rooms Headcanon pt 3

Maddie & Kitty

One is mad about hats and tea, while the other is a kitten bent on chaos.

Now it's time to view our favorite rebellious Wonderlanders: Madeline and Kitty *CROWD ROAR SOUND EFFECTS*!

In the books the Wonderlanders' rooms have been described as messy, chaotic, and mad. Which fits them perfectly, since Wonderland lives and breathes chaos and madness. And Kitty and Maddie are the definition of chaotic madness!

Sadly, during the show's run we never got to see a good view of Maddie & Kitty's dorm room which was a huge bummer! There were some hints in books of what the rooms looked like so I'll work with what I got. Here we go!

Maddie's side: As the next Mad Hatter, Maddie fits it to a tea (sorry, I couldn't resist the pun)! From mix-matched patterns to enough tea to fill an olympic-sized swimming pool, it's the perfect room design for our favorite mad girl.

Maddie's room screams Wonderland/ future Mad Hatter! We all know Maddie loves tea and there's tea: on her little table, her bed, the floor, even on the chandelier! The room is chaotic, messy, and mad.

During my internet digging I found a black and white photo of Maddie's room that is designed exactly like the image in the book. I believe it was a sketch done by the artist who designed the book. It would've been nice to see the room in color, but I think the room would be Maddie's color scheme.

In the Getting Fairest line Maddie has a nightstand where she places her hats while getting ready for an event or sleeping. It was seen in the book (look at the image of Maddie's room on the right side), and there was a glimpse of it in 'Thronecoming'. In the picture it seems like it has added storage where Maddie may store all of her hats in, it probaby can fit hundreds of hats in it.

Maddie's little tea table is most likely the same one we see in her room. Being, Maddie, she can pull it out of her hat and enjoy teatime with her friends anywhere.

Maddie has a vanity set which is at the other end of the room. I'm guessing Maddie has a closet in her room since we didn't see it in the pics, and if the room didn't have a closet or wardrobe Maddie would've put one in anyway Mad Hatter style.

From what we see Maddie's wallpaper is white at the top with light greyish swirls, the middle part is divided by a gold band, and the bottom part is purple and maybe lilac (or white) stripes.

Look! Earl Grey has his own little house, it's so cute. $20 bet that it's bigger on the inside and looks exactly like Maddie's dorm room!

In this pic we see Maddie's bed, desk/tea table, and a glimpse of her nightstand.

I love the aesthetic of Maddie's room! I was really upset that we never got to see more of Maddie's side of the dorm since she's my favorite character in the show. Every time I saw her on screen or read her sections in the books, I just lit up with excitement.

Kitty's side: Kitty is a mischievous kitten who thrives on chaos and her room reflects it.

We actually got to see more of Kitty's side of the dorm than Maddie's. From what is seen Kitty's side of the dorm seems to be surrounded by zigzag stripes and cat shaped furniture.

After, rewatching the show I realized Kitty's room is one big cat tree post! I mean look at the top image, Kitty's bed is on a platform/loft, than her laptop is on another platform, and who knows what else is up there.

Behind, Raven and Apple we get a (somewhat) better view of the bed, laptop, and I'm guessing cat toys. Since, Kitty can transform into a cat I can see her playing with them and chasing Earl Grey around the dorm.

I think Kitty has endless baskets of yarns, since she loves to knit. And has a closet full of sweaters and scarfs.

Like most cats, Kitty sleeps wherever she pleases, as she sleeps on her striped sleeping bag that kinda looks like a caterpiller sleeping bag.

Kitty does have a vanity, which we the viewers don't see, while Kitty's applying lipstick. If you look closely at the background, you see Kitty's bed, but instead of on the platform it seems to be on floor level. In the pic on the right the bed is back on the platform and on the right corner, I'm guessing that's the vanity set.

While researching Kitty's room I got confused at a few points (Kitty would be proud of herself). I wanna say it's due to different writers, but it's Kitty. She most likely switched her room up weekly.
