succession s4 e3 recap: i just called to say are you a cunt? 1/2
ding dong the bitch is dead!
today we celebrate! extra long recap! (you'll find part two here and at the bottom)
it's finally time to fire gerri:(((
this has been in the cards since the hazmat suit remark, but still shakes me to the bones.
and sticking her with cruises? horrifying.
almost as horrifying as logan asking roman to kill her...
"you two, you know, you were close"
dickpickgate, the laughs were too high a price to pay.
on a more positive note, greg is also not having a good day.
is he out of the inner circle? was he ever in? did kerry really look up if a focus group existed and pull him apart like string cheese?
my guess is it's because he is annoying. on this, logan and i agree. visually aggravating, indeed.
(on a more serious note, yes, i've seen the posts about nick and all i can say is believe women)
big boss man's last words:
i wasn't paying attention. karolina was in the scene.
tom uses one line to summarize the episode we never got.
wanting to kill cyd and gerri on the same day can kill you, you know. it's called karma.
felt a strong impulse to skip the intro having seen the trailer, but i'm a good lil nick britell fangirl of course.
also, you know it's going to be a good episode when it's a mylod.
roman is very nervous about breaking up with his girlfriend firing gerri. "let's enjoy this sham marraige and the death of romance", he said...
i know i asked for more gerri. THIS NOT WHAT I MEANT!
roman is me, i am roman etc.
i'm also sad to report that i am, in fact, team hat.
they are sad and angry but not in a perverted way:(
so, so pretty<333 j. for supporting! sarah for lead, please!
it's the least they could do. seriously.
looks like having to kill gerri was the last drop for our romey.
calling your dad a cunt right before he dies? it's shakespearean.
connor associates victoria spunge with the loony bin. some of you might think the cake is not an essential part of this episode, but you are wrong.
shiv doesn't pick up the phone. first the cake, now this!!
this is what my mom tells me all the time: gotta pick up the phone, i could be dying.
and just like that... logan roy died. on the toilet. where all horrible fathers deserve to die. special shout out to tywin lannister!
the writers are absolute sickos for making me actually morn this guy by watching how his children absolutely fall to pieces:
roman repeating how everything will be okay. ken saying he can't forgive logan, but that he loves him. shiv immediately reverting back to her younger self and calling logan daddy...
anyone else have some trauma responses to share?
these asshole kids crying over their asshole father </3
they frantically go back and forth between accepting that he is dead and making action plans on how to save him. it's a beautiful and heartbreaking throwback to the first season, when they still believed their money and status could save them from experiencing death.
even billionaires are mortal. really makes u think 👀
frank calls kendall son and i think it finally sinks in. i'm a pool of tears ready to be wiped up off the floor.
shiv and ken go to let connor know.
they look so smol and lost and sad, i CAN'T. they really are kids.
connor is on some GOAT shit with this line:
well, his father may not ever have liked him, but at least he got the world's strangest hug from his homey romey.
being in denial too hard can cause hug disfunction.
it's not a nice thing to call someone dead.
truly a heartbreaking rant we get from kieran here. one emmy for our favorite slime puppy!
karl continues to be the voice of reason:
i feel connected to this man, spiritually and emotionally.
he should pour one for kerry as well.
our girl is simply not dealing. fingers crossed for a delicious breakdown to come.
tom agrees.
funniest shit i've ever seen.
this is why we like to keep karl around, for the drinking and the nicknames.

Moist Rowlet’s E3 Report Card: 2018 Edition
Another year means another E3 Report Card! This time around I’m dropping the whole Multiplatform distinction, as I felt that kind of just sucks most of the fun away. This time, I’m going off what they showed off, and if they showed it off first, then they get credit. Without further ado, let’s get started!
EA: F
Why did you have to do that to Command and Conquer EA? Just... why. Every year it’s the same nonsense of SPORTS AND SHOOTERS. The most notable thing was that they acknowledged that they messed up Battlefront 2. The bar was raised so low, and they still failed to meet it.
Microsoft: A
It took them a long, long time, but Microsoft finally realized that people don’t want long descriptions of services and promises of games, they just want games. And by god, they gave us games. Todd Howard is no long Todd Coward, since he actually showed up this time! They finally gave us a date for KH3 (also they gave it to Microsoft this time!), and while it’s sad that they delayed it to 2019, at least it’s early 2019. Between Cuphead DLC ft. New Waifu, DmC FINALLY COMING BACK, and Nioh but Dark Souls, there is a lot to behold, all things considered. And the final reveal was a long, long time coming. The conference made me forget that the Xbone was dying for just a moment, which is more than good enough for me. That’ll do Microsoft. That’ll do.
Bethany Esda: C
While not bad, I didn’t see much good either. At the very least, Todd showed up! That aside, I still don’t know why Legends had to change developers at all, and I’m a still bit confused as to why it was there to begin with. The rest of the announcements, like Prey Prop Hunt were okay. DOOT 2 is nice. Fallout 76 is... it kinda just looks like Fallout 4 with online slapped on, though the cryptid enemies look neat. The Todd Segment (tm) is a mixed bag overall I felt. Mainly because I’m still wary of his Sweet Little Lies. Also I WANT FUCKING BLACKMARSH TODD.
Square Enix: C
Short, but not impressive. Sure, most of it was in fact gameplay, but most of it was stuff that we already knew from the other conferences, which leads to the lower score I gave the conference. There was nothing bad, but nothing of note either. At least DQ 11 looks good.
Ubisoft: D
Coming off of their surprisingly decent show last year, this one I felt was very lackluster. The gameplay that we did see seemed to confuse more than it actually explained, and most of the upcoming content for current games isn’t very exciting either. Star Fox making a surprise appearance was nice, but aside from that? Not much else to comment on.
PC Gaming Show: B
While there was nothing bad, there wasn’t much good here either. Noticing a trend here? There were plenty of games to be shown though, which bumps up the grade a bit more than Square or Bethany Esda. The sheer volume was all they really had though, while the actual announcements themselves weren’t very impressive. So overall, it was nice, but not impressive, which is at least better than Square.
Sony: D
How... how did you fuck that up? You were given about an hour, and you used 30 minutes of it on one game, went to intermission, and then you blitzed through a combination of titles we already knew or trailers that merely acknowledged the existence of games. At the very least we can FINALLY CONFIRM THAT DEATH STRANDING IS A GAME THANK GOD. All in all, it didn’t really feel like an E3 conference. It failed in hype and it failed in quantity. You spent an hour on 5 new games? Utterly Unimpressive, two years in a row. Microsoft did Sony’s job better for them, and for that, they get the credit.
Nintendo: A
It’s a bit difficult to assess Nintendo from just their conference, because they usually spread their announcements throughout several days after the main Direct. Still, I can safely say that it’s a good deal better than a majority of the other conferences. Nintendo are the masters of hype, and they deliver once again, despite the small number of games actually shown in the conference. Of course, the major attraction is Smash, which completely blew away every single speculator since the first trailer, and for that, I gave them their corresponding score. Take notes Sony. This is how you spend 30 minutes on one game.

Random Wants.package discoveries
in the wants.package file there's specific wants for each premade sim, this is just for romeo monty. These are the wants that pop-up when the household is first loaded (E.I how olive wants to retire, How Nina wants to move out, Juliet wanting to go steady). There's ways to edit it in the neighborhood's SWAF, but EA probably couldn't bother redoing it each time the household was loaded they just coded it here.
This is in the "become a plantsim" want. Plantman sounds like a slur also. Curious if this is how plantsims were meant to be called and they changed it or it's a developer nickname.
WOW A LONG LOST broke family member. I headcanon him as Susie's Broke's child. Now these following findings were made by my friend @veronaviile
First before you get your hopes up no this isn't waterside or whatever, it's for the nightlife E3 demo (I've never heard of that ever) Don't know who these are, probably test characters during the demo with specific wants so that they could show off nightlife's features and new wants.
NOW THIS IS INTERESTING. There's cut Beta Fears, which are 100% gone besides their names. Never Learning to walk/talk is interesting because they would make up "growing up badly" much more easy. Also the wants for other sims, like for sims skipping school or never getting married would've been fun.
THIS IS MUCH MORE INTERESTING. These are a bunch of sims, most of them share names with sims from Waterside (the Baxters, Virginia Thompson) but there's also outlier Denise, who has the label (EP4 Demo). Turns out their scripted wants's instance numbers were reused for wants in the later eps.
to end it more cut fears, i am now beginning to realise that never went to school maybe meant college (which was intended for the bg, that's why sims 2 university was the first ep). Also interested if Never received an A+ report card was meant for kids or just like.. knowledge teens. Lamare pointed out that they could also be triggers that stir wants into a certain direction, which is probably more correct tbh. End of post, credits: me @veronaviile for the last 4 images that are MUCH more intersting than mine.

✨Bad Batch E11 Spoilers✨
AAAAAAHHHHHHHH OMG OMG OMG OMG
Ok let's get into it y'all...welcome to my brain while watching E11
- OMG RYLOTH NOW???
-CROSS!
-SYNDULLAS!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE IS MOM???? IS CHOP WITH HER???
-Clone without helmet? Clone I don't know? What???? We haven't seen a reg without their helmet as far as I can remember...Why do I get the feeling this guy's chip isn't 100%? Why else would they show us his face/give him some personality. Wait that's the other thing! Mans still has his armor painted and everything unlike all the other regs (not counting the Coruscant guard). Plus based on his pauldron I'm guessing he's an ARC trooper and they were more independent and creative thinkers than most of the regs........oh no Mr. Cowboy Hat Man is gonna kill him isn't he :(
- CHOPPER!!!!!! MY FAVORITE WAR CRIMINAL!!!!
- BABY HERA BABY HERA BABY HERA!!!! MOM YOU ARE SO SMALL RN AWWW I LOVE YOU
- My god there are no words to describe how happy I am to see Hera
- Ohhhhh his name is Howzer! Have we seen him before? I don't think so...I didn't forget a clone did I?!?!?!?!?!?!
-Not gonna report it? Yeah his chip isn't fully working is it. He seems nice pls don't murder him Dave. I know you will, but like don't.
- I get what Cham is saying, but like Gobi sounds more like Cham than Cham does
- AGH CROSS YOU'RE BALD! AGH CROSS I CAN SEE YOUR CRISPY BRAINS! SIR! LIKE THERE IS A LITERAL ✨C H U N K✨ MISSING FROM YOUR SKULL!
-WAIT A SECOND!!!!!!!!! HIS BRAINS BE BURNT ON THE CHIP SIDE!!! DOES THAT MEAN??? SOON??? (if someone has an extra clown wig and red nose hand it over i have a feeling imma need it)
- I seriously don't think there has ever been a moment when I was even remotely ok with Orn Free Taa
- Hera's mom is an absolute QUEEN! I love her already...oh no I'm getting attached I can't do that oh no stop it I can't deal with more sad
- BABY HERA FLY SHIP! Look at her go!!! Yay Mom!!!
-OMG IS HERA GONNA MEET OMEGA???
-AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH HERA AND OMEGA ARE BESTIES!!!
-Awwwww Tech's been teaching Omega about the ship! Wait does that mean he has someone who will sit and listen to him because he just wants to share his knowledge??? AWWWWW THAT'S SO SOFT I LOVE IT!!!!! I really wish they would have shown us that. Like yeah there have been some short Tech teaching Omega moments, but nothing substantial. Seriously if they showed us Tech getting all happy and excited that someone actually wanted to learn from him I think I would simply pass away from pure joy. I just want some character development and happiness for my love is that too much to ask for?
- Hera talking about flying is so cute! Omg and Omega being so proud of her room!!!
-Lol like 0.5 sec into hearing that Omega and the Bois™ get shot at regularly, Hera's like "Are you in trouble? I will adopt you right now" (and then Omega pulled the Uno Reverse card on her and was like "sis we are literally the ones bringing you weapons"). Glad to know Hera has always been the mom friend.
-"Did you know flying is about a feeling?" "wHaT fEeLiNg?" My dear Tech, I adore your vocal inflections so much......oh stars.....I'm freaking out over crumbs......my apologies
- CROSS SWEETIE PLEASE STOP SHOOTING AT PEOPLE! SPECIFICALLY CHILDREN! BRO I KNOW YA CAN'T HELP IT BUT EEK MAN!
- Ok kind of a weird statement, but am I the only one that used to get really excited when a LAAT would show up? I used to be all like "My BOYS! 🥰" and now it's more of "My BOYS! 😥". Ya know what I mean? My poor clones...I miss them.
- Oh yeah I'm 100% calling it, Howzer's chip isn't doing the thing.
- Hera's mom could run me over with a blurrg and you know what that's on me. I got in her way. I'm so sorry.
- DAMN CROSS RIGHT TO THE NOGGIN JEEZ!
- Aww Howzer really cares about Hera and her parents. This is gonna hurt like a bitch isn't it 😒
FINAL THOUGHTS
- Idk what I was expecting from this episode, but it certainly wasn’t seeing Ryloth this soon.
- MOM!!! Agh I love Hera so much
-Howzer’s pretty. Good for him.
- So like for our clown outfits, is there color scheme or dress code or something? Because I'm really hoping that seeing Cross' ✨melted marbles✨ on the right side of his head means the chip got damaged and it's gonna stop working soon...right?
- I know both of them were only around the batch for a few minutes, but do you think Kanan and Hera ever had a moment were they were telling stories about their past and somehow connected the dots that they both knew them kinda? Idk probably not but it's fun to think about.
-So here's the thing (to finally wrap up my rambling), they were soooo close to Cross. Like I know the batch is going to have to go back to bring them more weapons, but they were sooooo close. I get it that they wouldn't have known he was there and it was interesting to see what is going on in the galaxy outside of the squad, especially with Ryloth's history of being constantly under occupation and seeing how they are dealing with the shift from the Republic to the Empire, but I need them to TALK ABOUT HIM! Like let's at least start there. Where's the energy from E3 about not leaving Cross behind? I know that getting him back is going to be really hard, really complicated, and really dangerous and that's why they haven't got him back yet, but at least try to come up with a plan. Start there boys. Please. I love you all so much. I really do. But could you just TALK TO EACH OTHER BECAUSE I KNOW IT'S BOTHERING YOU INSIDE BUT YA NEED TO BRING THOSE FEELINGS TO THE OUTSIDE!!! Ok thanks xxx
Yeah I think that's all I got for today's episode. Good night? Good morning? Whatever y'all know what I mean 😘

okay so like. i feel like i should come to terms with my ‘4 seasons of the daily punctilio as the office’ because while i came up with GREAT episode descriptions, and also spent like two months of my life dissecting sitcom structure (which was, admittedly, a lot of fun), it would take the Longest to write and the Longest to post, which is terrible, not ideal at all, so
the highlights, which might make it into my current vague incarnation of ‘modern AU where vfd is a book club in some way’ --
-eleanora poe is the managing editor of the punctilio, and she won possession of the paper in a card game from the previous owner (who was vfd-adjacent) -moxie is city desk editor, lemony is copyeditor, and then jacques does fashion and ramona does finances -they work the night shift, 4pm-12am -geraldine is hired in the third episode as the theater critic to great distress of the entire staff
it’s honestly easier to just, post how i wrote out the episode descriptions to show the vague plot i had mapped out, especially because i’m very proud of them regardless --
i hadn’t figured out a and b plots for all of them, so i left the ones i had written down --
s1, e1 – the punctilio – eleanora wants to take the punctilio in a new direction.
-a plot – the staff gets used to working with a documentary crew as eleanora tries to push the punctilio in a more honest direction.
s1, e2 – the article – the staff works overtime in an attempt to get their articles done.
-a plot – demeaned by the staff’s antics, eleanora has them work overtime to finish articles.

-a plot – geraldine wants to prove herself, so she decides to do all her work herself.
s1, e4 – the book club – geraldine finds out the other staff members have a book club and tries to get in.
-a plot – geraldine wants to fit in, so she tries to join the book club.
s1, e5 – the ribbon – lemony and moxie try to find a replacement typewriter ribbon.
-a plot – lemony wants to fix his friendship with moxie, so he asks her to help him get new ribbons.
s1, e6 – the finances – ramona uncovers a filing error.
s1, e7 – the straight man – the staff tries to make jacques laugh.
-a plot – concerned at jacques’s steady impassiveness, the staff tries to make him laugh.
-b plot – lemony and the rewrite crew deal with geraldine’s articles?
s1, e8 – the actress – lemony’s girlfriend visits the punctilio offices and creates a stir.
s2, e1 – the theater night – the staff spends an evening at the theater.
-a plot – because the staff doesn’t understand his relationship with beatrice, lemony invites them to the theater.
-b plot – to prove her position, geraldine tries to get esme’s attention at the theater.
s2, e2 – the banker – the staff encounters eleanora’s brother, who comes to audit the office.
-a plot – the staff, hostile to anyone disrupting the paper, does not take well to arthur poe.
-b plot – ramona fields calls from her mother about replanning the garden.
s2, e3 – the sunglasses – eleanora deals with a theft.
s2, e4 – the pigeon – geraldine inadvertently scares the pigeons.
-a plot – attempting to assert her position and knowledge, geraldine accidentally scares lemony’s pigeons off the fire escape.
s2, e5 – the 3rd annual esme squalor fan club dinner party and salad bar – geraldine tries to bring the staff together.
-a plot – geraldine wants to show she’s sophisticated, and involves the staff in the planning of the dinner.
-b plot – lemony wants revenge on geraldine for the pigeons, and sabotages the dinner.
s2, e6 – the inheritance – ramona returns to winnipeg after her mother has an accident.
-a plot – lemony gets updates from winnipeg as ramona helps her mother.
s2, e7 – the kansas city shuffle – eleanora considers some staffing changes.
-a plot – lemony and eleanora engage in mind games as eleanora shuffles the staff around in ramona’s absence and lemony tries to keep his job.
s2, e8 – the intern – the punctilio picks up a new intern.
-a plot – because he misses ramona, and other personal reasons, lemony shuns the new intern. (bertrand. the intern is bertrand.)
s2, e9 – the replacement – eleanora cements her staffing changes.
s2, e10 – the reunion – ramona returns to the punctilio.
-a plot – not wanting to desert her post and colleagues, ramona returns to the punctilio and has to deal with the changes eleanora made.
s2, e11 – the rival – moxie, geraldine, and eleanora meet someone from jacques, lemony, and ramona’s childhood.
-a plot – desperate not to be upstaged or embarrassed by the appearance of olaf, lemony, jacques, and ramona decide to upstage him?
-b plot – eleanora and moxie, feeling left out, try to figure out what olaf’s deal is.
s2, e12 – the salmon – the staff get together to review a new restaurant.
a plot – in pairs, the staff goes to review cafe salmonella.
b plot – eleanora, allergic to salmon and disappointed she can’t go, fields phone calls.
s2, e13 – the framing, part one – on the tail of a big story that might finally get her on the wall of Best Articles, geraldine accidentally frames lemony for a series of crimes.
-b plot – geraldine wants to be on the wall so badly that she digs too hard into an article. (I had an idea it was about like, since she’s fashion editor, eye tattoos???? hmm hmm hmm!)
s3, e1 – the framing, part two – the staff scramble to clear lemony’s name. (fuck the cold open is like, lemony saying once again, “do I have any regrets? several. …. I left the tea kettle in our apartment on.”) (god the sheer beautiful absurdity of lemony on the run…..followed by a camera crew I’m dying)
-a plot – moxie takes the lead on trying to clear lemony of false accusations.
s3, e2 – the assignment – lemony encounters the punctilio’s previous intern.
-a plot – when lemony runs into bertrand again, he wants to make amends.
-b plot – jacques and geraldine get put on assignment together.

-a plot – lemony is nervous about the party and bertrand, and hides the whole time.
s3, e4 – the trivia night – the staff attend trivia night at a local cafe.
-a plot – jacques is nervous about talking to jerome, and asks lemony to accompany him to trivia night – the whole staff follows.
-b plot – geraldine wants to impress people, and studies up for the trivia night.
s3, e5 – the blues (I guess that’s why they call it) – jacques takes a day off.

#lulu talks about the sad lemon man#i love episode titles that are like 'the [x]' so that's why they're all like that. i think they're delightful and no title style is better

Second to last update to the card. Will update it for the last time tomorrow after work tomorrow. Last few conferences were definitely not spectacular. You can definitely tell everyone is spinning their wheels until the next console generation rolls out next year.
Here are my grading criteria:
1) No game no hype. That’s the major rule. Trailers must include real gameplay to be good.
2) The more 2019 release dates the better.
3) Points are taken off for unnecessary buzzwords. To see what qualifies as full of buzzwords, look at Microsoft’s Xbox Scarlett video.
4) New rule: Must keep me engaged.

Culture, parallels & meta - S2 E10
Zaterdag 09:56
Perfect parallel:
Zoë laughing off Senne’s supposed ‘flirt attempt by telling her his childhood sob story’ at their first date, Zoë actually hearing his and Viktor’s childhood sob story from Gill in this episode.
Viktor’s manipulative “He would have these crazy temper tantrums” about Senne in E6, Gill stating the true “Viktor used to throw these crazy temper tantrums” in this one.
Oopsie: Before the “Viktor and I woke up naked together in a bed”, Gill’s hair is in front of her face. After that, her hair is tucked behind her ears.
Blink-and-y’ll-miss-it: Gill mentioned that Viktor was 14 when the accident happened, making Senne 11/12 years old at that time.
°
Maandag 11:45
C is for culture:
“That’s a rental book, you realize that right?” - In a lot of secondary schools, course books can be rented instead of bought. The content doesn’t change that often anyways, so it’s cheaper to offer them for a certain fee to the students. Though, at the end of the school year, they have to be returned in the exact condition. Paper workbooks or prints, however, have to be bought.
“Come on, warm waffles!” - There are actually two types of Belgian waffles: the Brussels and the Liege. The girls bought warm Liege waffles, which are thicker, chewier and with uneven edges. The Brussels one is more a rectangular shape, with a lighter and crispier texture.
Funny coincidence: Luca’s “Free at last” sounds like the quote in Martin Luther King’s speech ‘I have a dream’.
Nod to the OG: The song ‘Paradise’ by Coldplay.
Perfect parallel: Amber’s tired “Why are you always so loud?” directed towards Luca in S2, Noor’s hungover “Do you have to be so loud?” to Amber in S3.
Lost in translation: Amber saying "We gaan een terrasje doen" (literally: ‘we’re going to do a terrace’), it’s an expression indicating that you’re going to drink something on the outside (summer) terrace of a bar.
Oopsie: The girls pass along a college campus, after they step off the tram, and cross the street for the ‘Groenplaats’. But then it cuts back to the girls passing the college campus again, right before crossing.
Hello from the outside: The girls pass along a parade of mustached men, with Jana mimicking the facial hair with her napkin. This parade was actually part of the ‘2019 World Beard & Moustache Championships’, which was held in Antwerp on Sunday the 19th of May.
Blink-and-y’ll-miss-it: The girls picking up the papers Luca tossed in the air. Them all walking along the crossing in Beatles’ formation (like the Abbey Road album). Luca is eating two waffles at once.

C is for culture:
“Robbe. Robbedoes!” - Luca calls Robbe the nickname ‘Robbedoes’, a reference to the Belgian comic ‘Robbedoes & Kwabbernoot’ (English version: ’Spirou & Fantasio’). Its two main characters are spontaneous journalists who run into fantastic adventures, aided by the pet squirrel ‘Spip’ and their inventor friend ‘the Count of Champignac’.
“Are you going to Rock Werchter next week?” - Rock Werchter is a large, annual pop/rock music festival in Werchter (near Leuven). The four-day event is organized every first weekend of summer vacation. The number of attendees can rise up to 149,500 people for the whole festival, with a noteworthy influx of international festival goers in recent years (British, French, Dutch, Australian, South African, ...). It has three spin-offs: ‘TW Classic’, ‘Werchter Boutique’ and the French ‘Main Square Festival’ in Arras.
Perfect parallel:
Jana buying her summer outfits at C&A in S2, her shopping at the same clothing chain - with Noor helping her - in S3.
Yasmina again hinting at a (former) crush on a boy, just like the earlier conversation with Zoë in S2 and doing the same in a conversation during wtFOCKDOWN.
Lost in translation: Luca's "Eentje is geentje" (= literally: ‘One is none’), stating that it’s better to drink/eat/do at least one or more than having missed one (thing).
Blink-and-y’ll-miss-it: Robbe's eyes dart upwards for a millisecond, after Jana asks "For Blonde Ambition?", confirming that he indeed voted for them.

C is for culture: What’s with the last week of school? Well, after the December/April/June exams, the school can fill the days before the break with what they want. Most schools give their students a couple of free days, others might organize fun excursions or festivities. On the last Friday, however, they’ll hand out report cards and discuss them with students/parents.
Perfect parallel:
Zoë quickly darting away to avoid Senne in E7, Senne doing the same to her in this one.
Her making up lame excuses not to contact Senne in previous episodes, Senne’s “My phone was turned off. I didn’t want to be distracted while I was studying. Sounds familiar?” here.
In the first episodes, Zoë keeps saying that she won’t fall for what Senne says - his flirt attempts or lying stories, in this episode she states “I’m not falling for your bullshit” - his statement about wanting to leave.
Zoë saying “Isn’t it time to get over it?” to Senne in S1, her “You should stop feeling so sorry about yourself" in S2.
Zoënne letting go of each other’s hands after a painful conversation in S2, Sobbe doing something similar after their make-up kiss in S3.
An upset Senne left behind in a high school hallway in S2, a sad Robbe ignored in a college hallway in S3.
Blink-and-y’ll-miss-it: Senne’s slight nod at Zoë’s “Away from me?”.
°
Woensdag 11:44
Perfect parallel:
Zoë acting cold, because she doesn’t trust Senne, in the earlier episodes. Senne looking for reasons to be cold, because he’s scared of people being too close to him in this one.
Senne’s “I don’t believe that” at Zoë’s statement that her parents don’t love her in E4, Zoë saying “I don’t believe that” at him denying his love for her in this one.
Zoë always running towards Senne - to chase him, to apologize, to talk - in previous episodes, him running towards her - to make-up - in this one.
The song ‘Nightcall’ by London Grammar played during their first kiss in E3, the same one plays during their reunion in this scene.
Their kiss can be compared with their first kiss, only quicker and more frantic: her rubbing his cheek, pausing to smile in relief, wrapping her arms around his neck, putting the palm of her hand under his ear, Senne messing up her hair, her squishing his head between her hands.
The movements of the sex scene in S2 are similar to the ones from S1 and S3. Foreheads leaning on each other before a kiss, a cut to pushing themselves through a open door, a hand caressing along the side, a neck kiss, kissing down a stomach, fingers gripping a back, a hand through the hair, a cut to both of them having naked chests with one on top.
Nod to the OG:
Blink-and-y’ll-miss-it: Zoë never ends the call with Jana. (Awkward!)
°
Donderdag 09:32
Perfect parallel:
The entire cuddle scene in S2 can be mirrored with the Sobbe hotel clips in S3: the way they’re positioned (big spoon-little spoon, face towards each other), movements (caressing cheeks, going through each other’s hair), the kisses (forehead kisses, cheek kisses, full-on making-out) and the looks they give each other (Zoë looking up at Senne).
Senne saying “He can’t get away with this” in this clip, repeating it in the next.
Zoë inviting Senne to come live with her in S2, her offering a room to Robbe in S3.
Blink-and-y’ll-miss-it: Zoë is still wearing her white and black hair tie on her right wrist, like she consistently does throughout the season.
°
Vrijdag 15:43
Perfect parallel:
The theme of their FreeFest team was ‘80s flashback’ in S1, Luca wears an 80s-inspired-outfit in S2.
The season opening with a (washing machine) door to Zoë’s POV, ending with an aerial shot away from her in S2. The third season opening with a door that Robbe opens up to a party, ending with an aerial shot - through the roof - away from him.
Zoënne kissing at a party while their friends cheer in the background, before the camera pans away at the end of S2, Sobbe experiencing the same in S3.
Oop, there it is, the homophobia / heteronormativity: Robbe pushing Milan away from him, saying “Get off me, faggot”. Moyo can see what’s happening and laughs at his embarrassment.
Hello from the outside:
Somewhere during the exam period (I can’t find whén anymore), Luca and Amber made tiny exam motivational quotes, which were spread out all over Antwerp. Fans of them found them and made pics.
At the party were a ton of Belgian influencers, who made multiple insta stories of being there at the same time that the clip dropped.
Where’s Wally? Hey, look, Keisha dancing with Jens and Moyo, Britt in the crowd with Gill, Max' making some dance moves towards Luca and Lisa is vibing with Milan.
Blink-and-y’ll-miss-it: Jana mouthing ‘hoi’ (= hey) to Luka. The tiny nod Jens gives Robbe, so that they go upstairs. The millisecond of hurt on Luka’s face when he noticed Jana greeting Jens and her lingering look on him afterwards.

THE CHRISTMAS CARDS
December 16, 1950
“The Christmas Cards” (aka “Christmas Card Pictures”) is episode #110 of the radio series MY FAVORITE HUSBAND broadcast on December 16, 1950.
This was the 12th episode of the third season of MY FAVORITE HUSBAND. There were 31 new episodes, with the season ending on March 31, 1951.
Synopsis ~ Liz and George have their pictures taken for their Christmas cards, but then can't agree on which shot to use.
“My Favorite Husband” was based on the novels Mr. and Mrs. Cugat, the Record of a Happy Marriage (1940) and Outside Eden (1945) by Isabel Scott Rorick, which had previously been adapted into the film Are Husbands Necessary? (1942). “My Favorite Husband” was first broadcast as a one-time special on July 5, 1948. Lucille Ball and Lee Bowman played the characters of Liz and George Cugat, and a positive response to this broadcast convinced CBS to launch “My Favorite Husband” as a series. Bowman was not available Richard Denning was cast as George. On January 7, 1949, confusion with bandleader Xavier Cugat prompted a name change to Cooper. On this same episode Jell-O became its sponsor. A total of 124 episodes of the program aired from July 23, 1948 through March 31, 1951. After about ten episodes had been written, writers Fox and Davenport departed and three new writers took over – Bob Carroll, Jr., Madelyn Pugh, and head writer/producer Jess Oppenheimer. In March 1949 Gale Gordon took over the existing role of George’s boss, Rudolph Atterbury, and Bea Benaderet was added as his wife, Iris. CBS brought “My Favorite Husband” to television in 1953, starring Joan Caulfield and Barry Nelson as Liz and George Cooper. The television version ran two-and-a-half seasons, from September 1953 through December 1955, running concurrently with “I Love Lucy.” It was produced live at CBS Television City for most of its run, until switching to film for a truncated third season filmed (ironically) at Desilu and recasting Liz Cooper with Vanessa Brown.
MAIN CAST
Lucille Ball (Liz Cooper) was born on August 6, 1911 in Jamestown, New York. She began her screen career in 1933 and was known in Hollywood as ‘Queen of the B’s’ due to her many appearances in ‘B’ movies. With Richard Denning, she starred in a radio program titled “My Favorite Husband” which eventually led to the creation of “I Love Lucy,” a television situation comedy in which she co-starred with her real-life husband, Latin bandleader Desi Arnaz. The program was phenomenally successful, allowing the couple to purchase what was once RKO Studios, re-naming it Desilu. When the show ended in 1960 (in an hour-long format known as “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour”) so did Lucy and Desi’s marriage. In 1962, hoping to keep Desilu financially solvent, Lucy returned to the sitcom format with “The Lucy Show,” which lasted six seasons. She followed that with a similar sitcom “Here’s Lucy” co-starring with her real-life children, Lucie and Desi Jr., as well as Gale Gordon, who had joined the cast of “The Lucy Show” during season two. Before her death in 1989, Lucy made one more attempt at a sitcom with “Life With Lucy,” also with Gordon.
Richard Denning (George Cooper) was born Louis Albert Heindrich Denninger Jr., in Poughkeepsie, New York. When he was 18 months old, his family moved to Los Angeles. Plans called for him to take over his father’s garment manufacturing business, but he developed an interest in acting. Denning enlisted in the US Navy during World War II. He is best known for his roles in various science fiction and horror films of the 1950s. Although he teamed with Lucille Ball on radio in “My Favorite Husband,” the two never acted together on screen. While “I Love Lucy” was on the air, he was seen on another CBS TV series, “Mr. & Mrs. North.” From 1968 to 1980 he played the Governor on “Hawaii 5-0″, his final role. He died in 1998 at age 84.
Bob LeMond (Announcer) also served as the announcer for the pilot episode of “I Love Lucy”. When the long-lost pilot was finally discovered in 1990, a few moments of the opening narration were damaged and lost, so LeMond – fifty years later – recreated the narration for the CBS special and subsequent DVD release.
Ruth Perrott (Katie, the Maid) was also later seen on “I Love Lucy.” She first played Mrs. Pomerantz, a member of the surprise investigating committee for the Society Matrons League in “Pioneer Women” (ILL S1;E25), as one of the member of the Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League in “Lucy and Ethel Buy the Same Dress” (ILL S3;E3), and also played a nurse when “Lucy Goes to the Hospital” (ILL S2;E16). She died in 1996 at the age of 96.
Gale Gordon (Rudolph Atterbury) and Bea Benadaret (Iris Atterbury) do not appear in this episode, although Liz does have a phone conversation with Iris where her voice is not heard by the listeners.
GUEST CAST
Jay Novello (Professor Sergei Pagolovsy) would appear on “I Love Lucy” as superstitious Mr. Merriweather in “The Seance” (ILL S1;E7), nervous Mr. Beecher in “The Sublease” (ILL S3;E31), and Mario the gondolier in “The Visitor from Italy” (ILL S6;E5). He also appeared on two episodes of “The Lucy Show,” but dapper Novello is probably best remembered for playing Mayor Lugatto on “McHale’s Navy” in 1965.
Professor Sergei Pagolovsky is a professional photographer, who also goes door to door selling his services. Novello generally plays Mr. Nagy, the Sheridan Falls Postman in love with Katie.
EPISODE
ANNOUNCER: “As we look in on the Coopers this evening, George is sitting in the living room reading the paper, when Liz makes an announcement.”
Liz announces that this is the night they must pick our their Christmas cards. Turns out, Liz is selling Kris Kringle Christmas Cards this year. So far, she only has three orders - including theirs. Card #14 reads...
LIZ: “This is the season of holly and spruce, So Merry Christmas to you, Uncle Bruce!”
Or, if you don’t have an Uncle Bruce, #14A...
LIZ: “This is the season of spruce and holly, So Merry Christmas to you, Uncle Jolly!”
George says his only Uncle’s name is Uncle Gilhooley.
LIZ: “This is the season that we know as Yule-y, so Merry Christmas to you, Uncle Gilhooley.”
When George finds out he has to pay retail, and doesn’t get a discount from his own wife, he insists they be printed from “George Cooper and Friend.” To get her name on the card she foregoes her commission.
She tries to sell cards to Katie, the Maid. But it turns out Katie is also working for Kris Kringle Christmas Card Company. Katie’s only sale was to herself. Liz quickly phones Iris Atterbury to make a sale, but same thing.Iris is a Kris Kringle Card vendor, too!
The doorbell rings and it is a special delivery letter from George’s mother. It says that she can’t come for Christmas this year, but would like a photo of them. Liz reads where her mother-in-law tells George to stand apart from Liz so that she can cut her out later! Liz decides to make their Christmas Cards themselves!
Announcer Bob LeMond does a Jell-O commercial, giving a quick holiday recipe.
ANNOUNCER: “As we look in on the Coopers once again it is two days later. Two days that Liz has spent diligently carving a linoleum block to hand-print their Christmas cards.”
Liz reveals the finished product but Katie can’t read the message because Liz didn’t carve the letters backward so that they come out the right way. As it is it says “REPOOC EGROEG dna ZIL morf SAMTSIRHC YRREM”!
Linocut (also known as lino print, lino printing, or linoleum art) is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum is used for a relief surface. The linoleum sheet is then inked with a roller and then impressed onto paper or fabric.
The doorbell rings and it is a salesman (Jay Novello). His product? Personalized photo Christmas cards from the Pagolovsky Studio of Photographic Arts. Liz orders before the salesman has even finished his spiel. Professor Sergei Pagolovsky himself will take the photos this afternoon. Liz immediately realizes that her mother-in-law will get a photo after all.
That afternoon George and Liz report to the photo studio. Turns out the salesman is Professor Pagolovsky himself! Liz does everything to make sure she is as close to George as possible. They take a photo with their heads together.
Later, George brings home the developed photographs for Liz to see. They cannot decide on which one to use. The photos that Liz likes, George doesn’t. The photos the George likes, Liz doesn’t! They go back and forth until they settle on one where they both look lousy!
Lucy Ricardo also had trouble picking a good photo of herself when applying for a passport in “Staten Island Ferry” (ILL S5;E12) in 1956.
Liz goes down to the photographic studio to change the photo. Reviewing the proofs, she chooses one she says will make George look good - but actually favors her. A short time later, George also visits the studio to make a change. He picks a photo that he says will flatter Liz, but actually favors himself!
When the cards arrive, Liz warns George that the Professor may have printed the wrong photo on their card - knowing she has changed it. Opening the cards, she is surprised to see the photo that favors George! She cries, refusing to send the cards. She throws them in the fireplace.
George tells her to go right out in the snow and buy some replacement cards. When he goes to the closet to get her coat, he comes back with some surprising news. She doesn’t have to go out and get new cards because they have three boxes of fully stamped and addressed cards in the closet. He forgot to mail last year’s cards!
In the live Jell-O commercial, Lucille Ball is Professor Dorothea Theodora, a famous lady archeologist in Egypt. LeMond is interviewing her for the Scientific Gazette.
LEMOND / INTERVIEWER: “I’d like to ask you a question.” LUCY / DOROTHEA: “Well, shoot the query, dearie.”
He asks her to read Egyptian hieroglyphics, which she translates into a description of Jell-O desserts.
Ooops! LeMond also translates the hieroglyphics and trips over the word ‘delectable’ at first saying ‘detectable’. Lucy, as Dorothea Theodora, ad libs “You can’t even read English”!
