Gen Z - Airbnb’s Fastest Growing Market for Experiences in Asia Pacific

Airbnb has announced that customers aged 24 and below, or Generation Z as they are called, comprise its fastest growing guest segment for Airbnb Experiences in Asia Pacific, with Generation Z guest bookings in Thailand specifically growing by 228% year-on-year. Airbnb currently offers more than 40,000 Experiences around the world today, with over 8,000 in Asia Pacific. The company launched three new Experiences categories this year alone, expanding its collection of unique travel experiences with Airbnb Adventures, Airbnb Animal Experiences, and Airbnb Cooking Experiences. The rapid growth of Gen Zs booking Airbnb Experiences reflects how this new generation actively seeks a different form of travel,” said Parin Mehta, Managing Director for Airbnb Experiences, Asia Pacific. “We see this manifesting three-fold: firstly, Gen Zs are driven by a new experience-led economy where they place greater value on experiences over ownership. High Points:

The pool is beautifully surrounded by mountains, a waterfall & has a butterfly garden, with good employees who are really nice and helpful.

Pet-friendly, which means you can bring your dogs here which always makes for a good sign of a genuinely solid place. Great food and I live the “living room” lobby bar with spectacular views of the mountains. Fantastic golf if you want it. Great hiking right in the neighborhood.

Clean rooms with clean supplies of fresh towels every day, and nice views. You should rate them (5 stars)!

Brief History

The Chauvet-Pont-d’Arc Cave in the Ardèche department of southern France is a cave that contains some of the best-preserved figurative cave paintings in the world, as well as other evidence of Upper Paleolithic life. It is located near the commune of Vallon-Pont-d’Arc on a limestone cliff above the former bed of the Ardèche River, in the Gorges de l’Ardèche. This cave is full of coolest history ever! Do you know that this cave was first discovered and explored by a group of three speleologists on December 18, 1994, it is considered one of the most significant prehistoric art sites and the UN’s cultural agency UNESCO granted it World Heritage status on June 22, 2014.

Eliette Brunel-Deschamps, Christian Hillaire, and Jean-Marie Chauvet for whom it was named six months after an aperture are now known as “Le Trou de Baba” was discovered by Michel Rosa (Baba). Another member of this group, Michel Chabaud, along with two others, traveled further into the cave and discovered the Gallery of the Lions, the End Chamber. In doing so they became the first people in 30000 years to cast eyes on these paintings. Cool right? Yeah, I kinda wish I was one of them. Although the date of this painting has been a matter of dispute a study published in 2012 supports placing the art in the Aurignacian period, approximately 32,000–30,000 years BP. Another study published in 2016 using additional 88 radiocarbon dates showed two periods of habitation, one 37,000 to 33,500 years ago and the second from 31,000 to 28,000 years ago with most of the black drawings dating to the earlier period. Phew!

Bidon is a commune in the Ardèche department in southern France. The area has been inhabited by humans at least since the Upper Paleolithic, as attested by the famous cave paintings at Chauvet Pont d’Arc. The river has the largest canyon in Europe and the caves that dot the cliffs—which go as high as 300 meters (1,000 feet)—are known for signs of prehistoric inhabitants (arrowheads and flint knives are often found).s

The Ardèche river flows as far as the Rhône, following a course mostly to the south-east. This Karst region is formed of calcareous limestones, where the streams flow in steep-sided valleys separated by sharp crests. With a generally low altitude the Bas-Vivarais. Bas-Vivarais is a traditional region in the south-east of France, covering the département of Ardèche, named after its capital Viviers on the river Rhône. The area of the Vivarais suffered greatly in the 9th century with raids from Magyar and Saracen slavers operating from the coast of the province resulting in an overall depopulation of the region enjoys a warm, and dry, almost Mediterranean climate perfect for family vacation !.
