Then the Elves looked up, and despaired no longer; but Morgoth was filled with doubt. ~ The Silmarillion, Chapter 24 (Morgoth, He Who Arises in Might by Dymond Starr)

Morgoth, He Who Arises in Might #WIP #throwBack [Painted Jan 2017. Part of my end of the year review on my Valar paintings inspired by J.R.R Tolkien’s, The Silmarillion!] . A part of me seriously wants to have his crown made by a welder. Anyone out there have thoughts? . More on his character: “Once part of the Valar (equivalent to archangels), Melkor became the first Dark Lord who was named “Morgoth Bauglir” in Beleriand and Middle-earth. He became greedy and hungry for Light, but seeing it was inaccessible to him, he turned to Dark, coveting it…“

Hi all! Back on track, and settled into our new place in Seattle, Washington. I have one last post for King Manwë ! [Painted him last year, July 2016. This is part of my end of the year review on my Valar paintings inspired by J.R.R Tolkien’s, The Silmarillion!] . For King Manwë’s crown I wanted to reflect the Eagles feathers again, but also in Crystal form. Pure light blue, like the sky’s, the wind and his soul. When I started this series, it was with Varda. It was important to me, to carry over simular design elements through out each piece. He exists in between worlds. He is the balance, he is libra and justice. With that the benevolent king’s crown, has the crystal feathers gping up and down, just like his hand do.

“Black” 12x12in | Oil on Canvas #MonthofLoveArt challenge. . “- From this state of floundering in the gloomy lagoon, we can awaken to find the light bearing the seeds of truth that will redeem us. Looking inward, we overcome stubborn resistance, and we revivify long lost and forgotten powers. The experience of soul-searching perspicacity transfigures us. We might even feel as if we died a spiritual death and then we were reborn. From our dark pit, a shaft of light emerges.” -Kilroy J. Oldster, Dead Toad Scrolls . — view on Instagram http://ift.tt/2E7Ieaj

Morgoth Canvas prints! #DymondStarr “And he descended upon Arda in power and majesty greater than any other of the Valar, as a mountain that wades in the sea and has its head above the clouds and is clad in ice and crowned with smoke and fire; and the light of the eyes of Melkor was like a flame that withers with heat and pierces with a deadly cold.” .
