Hey I'm the dyke union anon! You reblogging that post about not blocking dykes made me think of the fact that in the meantime I found out a way to explain to those "I'm not straight but I'm not lgbt" people why being in the community might be good for them. Being lgbt is a job and the lgbt community is a union. We are allies in a fight to make things more bearable for us. You're free to work and not join the union but c'mon, you just heard anti-union, bootstrap theory propaganda all your life that you're scared that not doing it alone means you're lazy and bad. Also we might think you're a scab (like biphobes, lesbophobes, transphobes, racists...)

I might just be a little high so it took me a second to parse through this, but I think I got the spirit!

Youre saying the people who are lgbt but don’t believe in solidarity and are homophobic/transphobic/lesbophobic/etc are technically at the same “job” as us, but if they don’t join the “union” (being actually supportive to all lgbt not just the ones they see as ‘good’) there’s probably a reason for that and we’re gonna call them scabs, right?

y’all do know the age in your bio thing is for adults right. minors should not be sharing actual ages online. if you must write something just say you are a minor (or if you want to be more specific try <14 or 15<). i cant stress enough that the internet is not as safe as you think it is, and the less personal details minors hand out, the better

I think meanferalbutch is perfect! Reclaiming the stereotypes about butches while being catchy! But utterdykery is like a Fireball spell, it's incredibly potent.

Utterdykery holds a very special place in that it is so potent (it was also my fetlife handle for a bit) but also I can only imagine a straight person having to read it out loud to me at some point and me having to stop angry thoughts even tho I asked to be called this lmfao

I kind of also love that meanferalbutch reclaims the stereotypes too!! I think meanbutch is too plain on its own but I am also kinda feral in my own , full of hidden rage, way so it works out. It’s truly such a tough decision I have to decide if I care more about werewolves or being a mean butch more!! Again call me fucking king Solomon cause I wanna cut these babies up rather than lose them!

Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't clear! The Mage lines (Mage the Ascension and Mage the Awakening) are not DnD! They're from the RPGs of the World of Darkness and Storyteller/Storytelling system (you might have heard of the most famous line, Vampire the Masquerade).

What are TTRPGs if not fun and silly voices though x)

I get that, I know I'm an Enchantement Wizard Drow through and through, even though bards are my favourite class to play! (I have an enormous affinity for magic, which is also why I like the Mage lines from World of Darkness and Chronicles of Darkness)

I love this ask so so much but I have to come clean in that I am actually tragically a barbarian human (half orc?) through and through who only has a +1 in performance at best let’s not even talk charisma

Which in itself is not bad! It's just a shame that they're not joining up with the union, but also we in the union might think they're scabs (i.e transphobes, racists, lesbophobes, biphobes...)

No I mean I get that totally! It just took my sleepy brain a bit to catch up. I used to know a gay man in high school who struggled a ton with internalized homophobia and basically saw the lgbt community as annoying and too flamboyant and not supportive. He would shit on lesbians and gay men alike cause he did not want to be gay. It was so sad to talk to him and try and get him ti see the solidarity and love in the lgbt community. But to be fair we both grew up in a fairly conservative southern area words like queer were not used as a positive thing by any means and I can’t blame someone growing up in that environment for internalizing at least some of it.

Haha I understand tumblr probably just glitched but since I got two messages I’d like to believe that there’s two people out there trying to take the title of dyke union anon. So funny.

But also yes!! Society especially western white society has placed a huge amount of value on individualism and self sufficiency but the honest to god truth is that no one gets out of life without some help! We need to band together and provide the same help we were given to others or we as a species are doomed to fail.
