THOUGHT I SHOULD ADDRESS THIS: HATE ANONS

as someone who has been on tumblr (not only as a writer but also as a reader) for a while now, i am more than aware of the unfortunate existence of a certain group of people who hide behind the anon tool to virtually harass/bring down creators.

hate anons, if you’re reading this— i have a question for you: what the fuck is wrong with you?

i don’t know if you find pleasure in whatever it is that you think you’re doing; i don’t know if you’re trying to get back at people for some reason; honestly, i don’t know if you even have any reason why you do this but either way, i don’t care. it is never right to mistreat people. through anonymity isn’t an exception.

so if you think you have a reason for doing what you’re doing, you don’t. sorry to break it to you, but you’re not going to get whatever it is that you want by bringing down other people.

it goes beyond me that there are still people out there who do this kind of thing. attacking a blog is not going to change what you don’t like about it. the blog isn’t yours, so you don’t get to dictate how their owner should run it. whatever kind of blog it is, the content you see there is being shared with you. it is not for you, it is mainly for the sake of bringing communities and fans together.

you can always unfollow whichever blog you don’t like if it annoys you so much it drives you to do such things. ridiculous, childish things (in my opinion).

i am not going to ask you to stop - because i know you will not do it just like that - but i do want you to know that whatever creators you attack, they aren’t alone. yes, the hate anon community cult might be growing but the community that was here before and that is still here is growing stronger by the second.

we support each other and we will not let whatever nonsense you spread get to our heads. because yes, we know all about your strategies: trying to get into the person’s head; mentioning stuff that touches them at a personal level somehow— all of that.

i believe there will be a day when no one will actually care about whatever mean things you have to say through anon. until then, dear writers/editors/wonderful creators, if you ever receive any of these horrible asks, just laugh. laugh at how not true they are. laugh at how these hate anons think they know you better than you know yourself. they don’t.

their asks are not true, you know they are not true. no matter how real they might seem, hate anons aren’t there to tell you the truth about whatever it is that they’re hating on. because that’s it that they’re doing��� they’re hating. and like Taylor Swift once said, the haters gonna hate.
